Todo ello, sin dejar de mencionar nuestro estado, Jalisco, como la capital del golf gracias a la realización del Lorena Ochoa Invitational (LOI) que este año trae de vuelta a la tenista tapatía número uno del mundo, en este prestigioso torneo considerado el más importante de Latinoamérica.

Whether it is tennis, golf, polo, sailing or sports fishing, our country has an endless number of tourist destinations for the exercise of these recreational activities that are located at a higher level than the standard places and that, consequently, attain an interesting economical spill for the country. In this occasion we present three routes where these sports play a great role and are very attractive for national and international tourism seeking for the practice of elite sports: Baja California Sur, due to its ideal waters to experience sailing and sports fishing; Mexico City for it is the venue of the Abierto Mexicano de Polo 2012, and beautiful Morelia, due to its great offer of first class clubs to play tennis. All of this, mentioning also or state; Jalisco, as the capital of golf, thanks to the realizations of the Lorena Ochoa Invitational (LOI) that this year brings back our Tapatía number one golfer in this prestigious tournament considered as the most important in Latin America.

Polo is an activity practiced in more than 70 countries and one of the most popular Elite sports in Mexico // Due to the great success of the World Polo Championship held in 2008 in Mexico City, where the national team was awarded the third place, it was recently announced that the that the 12th edition of the Abierto Mexicano de Polo 2012 will be held in Mexico City from November 01 to 10, the venue will be the majestic Tecamac Polo
Club and Campo Marte, where government events are usually held. It is important to point out that this competition was held again as of 2010 after a 13-year absence. For this reason we present three of the most important clubs and places for this peculiar sport, both in the capital of the country and in Mexico State.
Polo Key Points // Polo is a sport where two opposing teams with four players each, riding horses try to take a small wooden or plastic ball to the opponent’s goal, the goal being made of two wicker poles, and the players have to take the ball with a club or mallet. The objective is to score goals.

A Little bit of History Polo was introduced in Mexico in the decade 1880 by the British miners. In the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936, Mexico won the bronze medal, which was the first medal won in a team game. Among the most important events of the world, is the World Championship, Abierto de Palermo (Argentina), U.S. Open and the Queen’s Cup (England).

// En días pasados fue inaugurado el Parque Lineal en la Zona Metropolitana de Ocotlán, con una inversión superior a los 50 millones de pesos, de los cuales 23 fueron aportados por el Gobierno de Jalisco. Esta zona consta de plazoleta para actos cívicos, áreas de juegos infantiles, mesas, fuentes danzantes con iluminación y ciclo-pista de 9 km en la carretera Ocotlán-Jamay. El Secretario de Planeación, Carlos Anguiano Gómez, destacó la importancia del Parque Lineal por ser la obra más importante de la nueva Zona Metropolitana de Ocotlán, lo cual servirá para atraer a más turismo.

Celebra aniversario la Vía RecreActiva // La popular Vía RecreActiva de Guadalajara conmemoró su octavo aniversario durante el mes de septiembre con la firme idea de seguir creciendo como lo ha hecho hasta ahora. El parque lineal tapatío por excelencia, ha sumado a su programa varias actividades y rutas, como el paseo de la Glorieta Minerva, el ciclo tour, la implementación del programa los lunes feriados, el préstamo gratuito de bicicletas y diversas acciones del programa Actívate Libre, entre otras. La Vía RecreActiva de Guadalajara integra actualmente, todos los domingos, a más de 400 prestadores de servicio social y unos 200 trabajadores y guías que hacen posible este proyecto ciudadano a lo largo de más de 25 kilómetros.

The Via RecreActiva in Guadalajara currently gathers, every Sunday, more than 400 social service providers and around 200 workers and guides that make this citizen project possible through more than 25 kilometers.
