Jesus was full of God’s Spirit when He was here on earth. God’s Spirit is pure, powerful and gives life. God’s Spirit helps people come near to God. In contrast, evil spirits (also called demons) are unclean and have limited power. They steal, kill and destroy. One day God will punish all the evil spirits.
After Jesus and His disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee, a demon-possessed man came toward them. What did Jesus do? What change resulted?

A crazy man lived among the tombs.
He cried out night and day.
有个疯子住在坟茔里。

He cut himself with stones. 他用石头砍自己。
The crazy man ran to Jesus. He bowed down before Jesus. He shouted, “What do you want with me Jesus, Son of the Most High God?”
那个疯子跑到耶稣跟前，给耶稣鞠躬。他喊着说：
“至高神的儿子耶稣，我与你有什么相干？”
“What is your name?” Jesus asked. The man shouted, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”
“你叫什么名字？”耶稣问。

Then the demons in the man begged Jesus, “Don’t send us out of the area. Send us into the pigs.”

Jesus sent the demons into the pigs. All the pigs ran down the steep hillside and into the lake. They all drowned.

The pigs’ herdsmen ran into the city. They told the people about Jesus, the man and the pigs.

The city people came to Jesus. They saw the man sitting quietly, clothed and in his right mind. The people were afraid.

Jesus told the man, “Go home to your family. Tell them about the Lord’s kindness to you.”
The man gladly obeyed.
