Top team members wowed with series of off-resort excursions

Special and dear to Beaches Ocho Rios (BOR) are all its team members; more so those who have been recognised at each monthly Prestige Awards presentation.

The new buzz at BOR is the special off-resort events hosted exclusively for all 2022 nominees in the resort’s annual Prestige Awards. The roll-out was launched at BOR’s Piano Bar during a special cocktail party. The nominees were also treated to an all-white catamaran cruise, a river outing, and a day of volunteering.

“I truly appreciate what our managers and our Prestige Committee have done and is still doing. It really speaks volumes and shows how much the company cares and appreciates what we have been doing. This is also an encouragement to us to continue giving of our best even on our low days,” said Kevin Wisdom, a nominee from the resort’s Human Resources Department. “I can speak for all the nominees when I say, we feel appreciated, valued and very special. Thank you Team BOR! We love you, too.”

Fun Day Fridays at Sandals Dunn’s River

As Sandals Dunn’s River charts the new way forward in Sandals 2.0, Fun Day Friday’s is one of the team member initiatives being undertaken at the resort. Every Friday, team members receive special treats to brighten their day. Last week it was Ice Cream Friday, with a host of exotic flavours and toppings. Here are some highlights of team members enjoying the much-needed treat.

Scores of Sandals Grenada team members benefited from a Big Dreams Expo hosted at the resort in collaboration with key organizations on island. The event forms part of Sandals Resorts’ Way Forward initiative, a robust programme aimed at encouraging team members to excel.

Offering one-on-one financial and investment advice at the expo were representatives from the Grenada Development Bank, ACB Grenada Bank, Ariza Credit Union, Nexa Credit Union and the Housing Authority of Grenada. Advising on educational pursuits were representatives from the Scholarship Desk in the Ministry of Education, St. George’s University (SGU), University of the West Indies (UWI), Grenada National Training Agency and T.A. Marryshow Community College.

Sandals Royal Plantation continues to chart the way forward with a number of team member-oriented events. In July, the resort staged several health-related activities including foot detox sessions and hypertension testing. The initiatives were well appreciated.

The Sandals South Coast management team was in for a ‘treat’ for Wellness Wednesday, as Fitness Instructor from the resort’s Red Lane Spa, Rajay Grant got them in the frame of mind for another day at work with a well-needed yoga session. The earlymorning activity included various breathing techniques, stretches and mindfulness meditation. Though some shared that it definitely revived muscles they forgot they had, they all noted that it was truly an early morning delight and that they felt extra pumped for the day ahead.

Staying fit with the Red Cross Challenge

Team members from Beaches Turks and Caicos participated and dominated the Turks and Caicos Red Cross Red Hot Challenge recently. Chef Dian Smith shows how to get fit with the hula hoop challenge, Ryan Campbell and Joslin Delgado try the corn hx=ole, while Loyalty & Travel’s Romiald Benjamin was the resort’s tug-o-war challenger.

WIcket for Cricket!

Beaches Turks and Caicos’ Cricket Club showed its team spirit as they walked away with three of the four trophies on hand at the Turks and Caicos T20 Cricket competition. Claude Williams was awarded for taking the most wickets, Anthony ‘Moses’ McKnight was named Man-of-the-Series, and captain Sidue Hunter collects the runner-up trophy.

The 411 on Men’s Health

Men’s Health 411 was a success as male team members from Beaches Turks and Caicos participated in an open health talk session as part of a Way Forward initiative to promote sustainable work-life balance.

SANDALS FOUNDATION DONATES COMPUTERS FOR VULNERABLE CURAÇAO KIDS

Children in Curaçao’s vulnerable Buena Vista community now have free access to a two-year afterschool programme that will teach them basic computer literacy and how to create audiovisual products.

This became possible thanks to Sandals Foundation ambassador and Sandals Royal Curaçao (SCR) team member, Stephen Sint Jago, who brought the needs of the children to the Foundation’s attention.

With this awareness, the Sandals Foundation gave the Child First Afterschool Academy in Buena Vista six new computers and four repurposed computers. Through this donation, children in the community will receive supervised access to digital resources and enhanced forms of interactive learning, all while developing digital literacy skills that will prepare them for the future.

SCR General Manager, Kevin Clarke as well as other Sandals Foundation ambassadors and team members, were present at the launch ceremony held at the academy recently.
