GRENADA
A Rooms Division Social
Members of the Rooms Division at Sandals Grenada convened for an afternoon of fun and relaxation at one of Grenada’s most pristine beaches, BBC Beach. Oil Down, the national dish of Grenada, was prepared fireside by the men of the Maintenance Department. Leading the bar for the evening were Front Office Manager Ariel Gordon and Housekeeping Supervisor Amanda Fraser. Top athlete and Bellman Renald Greenidge succumbed to the fast bowling of the Butler team during a friendly cricket match, while Laundry Attendant Derrika Joseph left her colleagues amazed—and perhaps slightly frazzled—with her football tricks. As for what happened at the domino table, well, that stays there.
CURAÇAO

Back-to-School Fair
With just a month to go before summer draws to a close, Sandals Montego Bay is making the transition from vacation to education with its annual Back-to-School Fair. This vibrant gathering offered team members and their children a day filled with excitement, needed resources, and hospitality. One of the highlights of the fair was the distribution of free school supplies, which ensured that a child from every household has the essentials they need to start the school year off right. Health and wellness were also key focus areas of the fair. A Medical team from the Western Regional Health Authority offered free immunizations, check-ups, and vision screenings to ensure that students are in top shape for the new school year. Overall, the Back-to-School fair was very much appreciated and from all indications have, once again, left a lasting impact on the team as well as their children.

Kerwin Biscette’s heartwarming underwater gesture
Kerwin Biscette has had the most adventurous journey with Sandals Grande St. Lucian. He started as a casual worker in 2017, initially planning to stay for just three weeks. Seven years later, he has been a Snorkel Guide and Dive Instructor and is now living the dream as a Scuba Supervisor. To say that Kerwin loves diving is an understatement. In his words, “Other people go to therapy; I go diving. For me, diving is calming and soothing. When I am underwater, there are no issues.”
He goes on to say, “I only have one plan, and that is to become a better instructor. If I can replicate the impact that I had on my guests recently, helping them create lasting memories, then I would have succeeded.”
A little over a year ago, in 2023, Kerwin met guests Dwight and Shannon Dayoff for a Discover Scuba & Open Water dive certification course. Their spirits collided, and they have not
looked back since that first encounter. It had such an impact that, for his first wedding anniversary, Dwight decided to return to Saint Lucia to take the advanced open water certification program. Dwight was so impressed with Kerwin that he specifically requested him. Immediately, Terroll, the Aqua Centre Manager, escalated the request and “donated” Kerwin as a gift instructor.
Meanwhile, the unsuspecting guests were planning for an ordinary dive course experience. Little did they know Kerwin had already deduced that their favourite colour was blue. Therefore, he purchased a banner (blue), bought balloons, and spent time practicing blowing up the balloons underwater. All this stealth work was in preparation for the wreck dive on Monday, June 24th, 2024. Primed with his non-alcoholic champagne and his “open water office,” as Kerwin describes his underwater space, the rest is history.

Precious daddy-daughter moments
Meet Jovane Livingston from the Stewarding Department at Sandals Dunn's River. He shares with us his journey into fatherhood.
I didn't know the joys of parenthood until I became a father. Growing up without a father in my life, I knew I had to be there in every aspect of my daughter's life when I found out that my wife was pregnant.
My wife's pregnancy was high-risk, and the journey was filled with worry and hope. Every night, after finishing my shift, I would rush to the hospital to be by her side. She needed constant monitoring by doctors, and I wanted to be there every step of the way.
Even before my daughter was born, I started developing a bond with her. After work, I'd come home and gently rub my wife's tummy, talking to our baby. I'd ask her if she missed me, or how her day was in mommy's belly. Those moments were precious to me; a way to connect with my little one even before I could see her.
When my baby girl finally arrived, she was so tiny, born prematurely. Seeing her for the first time was overwhelming; I shed tears of relief and joy. She had come a long way, and I loved her more than words could express.
Every day at work, thoughts of my daughter motivate me. I look forward to going home and spending time with her. Her smiles, her tiny hands, and the way she looks at me—it all brings me immense joy.
Before she was born, I used to get angry easily. But now, having my daughter has brought a sense of calm and a better outlook on life. She has changed me for the better, making me more understanding and patient.
My daughter is my everything, and I am grateful to my wife for giving me such a blessing. Being a father is a wonderful feeling, one that fills me with happiness and pride every single day.
