Shark training

SANDALS MONTEGO BAY

In an innovative approach to safety and education, the Sandals Foundation, in partnership with the Georgia Aquarium, recently conducted a comprehensive shark training programme at Sandals Montego Bay for the region’s Watersports team. This initiative aimed not only to dispel common misconceptions about sharks, but also to equip the team with the knowledge to navigate their watersports activities responsibly. The training fostered a deeper appreciation for marine life and empowered the team to promote a positive coexistence with sharks; creating a safer and more informed experience for both the team and their guests.

The Sandals Grenada team hosted a series of immersive events for International Men’s Day recently. Male leaders from various departments at the resort visited the Happy Hill Secondary School and the St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School to share their life stories and motivational messages to young men there. On resort, the conference room became a ‘man cave’ with fun games from the ordinary to the not-so-ordinary. These included Guess the Price, Ping Ping Grab, Lucky Dip and many others. Delicacies such as tania log, stewed manicou (wild meat), and manish water were also served to strengthen the men. Rounding out the fun; a message on self-checking and emotional wellbeing was shared by counsellor Jerry Gordon.

SANDALS ROYAL CARIBBEAN Backyard Jam Uniform Party Sandals Royal Caribbean recently hosted a lively Back Yaad Jam uniform party, transforming the resort into a vibrant sea of matching colours and team spirit. The event not only added a touch of fun to the workweek but also served as a unique team-building experience. Laughter echoed through the heart of house as the team played games, won prizes and shared old high school stories. The uniform party proved to be a refreshing break from the usual routine, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among the team members.

SPorts Day and Thanksgiving Dinner As the leading all-inclusive family resort in the Caribbean, Beaches Turks and Caicos continues to chart the Way Forward with its cadre of dedicated, committed men and women. Work and play are vital to the development of each person, hence the need for the Human Resources team to foster this kind of relationship as the team surges its way forward with its annual Sports Day and Thanksgiving dinner.

Food for the body and mind

On International Men’s Day, the men at Sandals Royal Curaçao were treated to a feast for both their bellies and their minds. During the event held at the resort, a specially invited guest emphasized the significance of men taking care of their responsibilities and daring to freely express themselves. The men shared prayers, and as part of the session, they received small tokens.

LOVING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF FATHERHOOD ANGELO CASSONE

EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF, SANDALS GRENADA Angelo Cassone, executive sous chef at Sandals Grenada, has been looking forward to becoming a father and is so grateful to have been blessed with a son. He gushed, “I’m four months in and loving every single moment of it, and looking forward to every single day to come!” As a father, Angelo believes his first priorities in life are now his son and family, which come with additional responsibilities and sacrifices. But Angelo says it’s all worth it. “The smile on Giovanni’s face in the morning pays me back for all the sacrifices that we are making,” he says. The two most important things he aims to pass on to Giovanni are “humility and manners,” for he believes those are important attributes of living a good life.
