We talked to three young actors from this region, who participated in the last year's Talents Sarajevo program, and also the media workshop organized by Story magazine. They told us how their careers progressed since last year, what they have learned during the Story magazine workshop and why they recommend participating in the Talents Sarajevo program to their colleagues
MILENA BOŽIĆ
PROFESIONALNO SAZRIJEVANJE
“I would definitely recommend the Talents Sarajevo program because it helps you improve your working techniques, find new opportunities for collaborations, and make new contacts - both in our region, and also Europe. It is a great privilege to connect with your colleagues and to meet some of the most important and influential people in the film industry today. Especially, I'd like to point out the exceptional dedication of our last year's mentor, bosnian actor Ermin Bravo. In Sarajevo I met so many of my young colleagues who will remain my friends for the rest of our lives, and I believe that this is the greatest part of this whole experience”, says Serbian actor Milena Božić, the star of a TV series ‘Clan’. She is soon starting to shoot the short film by Nikola Polić and also is looking forward to another wonderful project in the future. Milena gladly remembers the last year's workshop by Story magazine - she says that she has learnes a lot there. “I learned that it is a big and important privilege for us as actors that our voices can be heared. The media are the ones who can spread important messages to the public and that's why they are so important. Openness, professionalism, respect for the people who work in the media, all that is part of the culture of public appearance. It's also very important to always stay within the ethical norms and constantly having in mind the collaboration with them”, Milena said. She added that she definitely became more mature professionaly during the last year, and that she learned to pick her projects very carefully, following the idea of a constant progress.
“During the Story magazine workshop I've particularly learned lessons in behavior while collaborating with media, and how to upkeep the utmost professionalism when it comes to the public eye. I am now more confident when it comes to speech in public”, says Sabina Memishi from North Macedonia. Since participating in the Sarajevo Talents program she has won two important awards for her work in theatre, and she is now preparing for the big premiere of the drama' Three Sisters' by Chekhov. She also was in one short film and has many interesting projects in the future. “It is the first time for me that my work as a local actress is recognized by a festival with such great influence in the film industry. It was an incredible opportunity and experience for me to get to know the people of my trade. The experiences and lessons that I gathered from my time in Sarajevo were irreplacable. The people I have met, and the connections I have made will transcend this festival, and will stay with me forever. I highly recommend the Sarajevo Talents programe to anyone who has the chance to participate”, Sabina told us. STRANICA

KORAK NAPRIJED U KARIJERI
“I came back from London, where I studied acting, just before participating in the Talents Sarajevo program. I remember that I was afraid if I made the right decision to improve my acting skills abroad, because maybe that made me less visible here. But the business opportunities that I got in the meantime made that fear go away. Say YES to Sarajevo because it's the great opportunity to meet the colleagues from the same profession, and go home enriched. The particinapts of the Talents Sarajevo program are more than welcome during the festival and it was much beyond my expectations. Participating in this program is an opportunity to get closer to the people who are behind SFF for possible collaborations in the future”, said Croatian actor Rok Juričić. One year after hits participation in the Talents Sarajevo program, he has some things concerning his career to brag about. “I want to pursue my acting career in the area of our region, not only Croatia. Recently, I got my first main role in a film. The shooting begins in te autumn of 2023.”, says Rok who is also a perspective musician, not only an actor.
