Scout Motto The Scout motto is “Be Prepared” or “Bí Ullamh”, if you go through Scouting and follow these two simple words you will survive all that is thrown at you. For example:- If you go on a hike and it starts raining but you have rain gear then you are prepared and won’t get wet! If you are in a powerboat and your propeller fouls, but you have a set of oars then you are prepared and you can row home! These examples all seem so easy and common-sense to overcome but if you had not come prepared to overcome them, then how difficult could each situation have become: - hypothermia, collision or drowning?
