wipe-out: (waipiá, waipiao, waipió) Este término se refiere a una buena (o mala) “revolcá”. Esto puede ser una caída en el intento de coger una ola, o, una vez parado/a sobre la tabla y corriendo la ola, el/la surfer se cae de la misma. También se utiliza el término para describir un intento fallido de hacer duck dive que resulta en una revolcón por el espumero del inside o cuando una ola le rompe encima a la persona y ni siquiera hizo el intento de duck dive.
Ej.: “¡Diablo! ¿viste ese wipe-out? Espero que ese chamaco esté bien.”
