FIRST AID COURSE Our Section Members from various teams (NFL, Tigers, Women’s, 3rd Team, Lions, Padantiques and Legends) attended a weekend full-day First Aid course on the 3rd and 4th of July 2021 at the Gilmour. During the Basic First Aid course, they learnt how to perform Basic First Aid, administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine on an unconscious casualty before help arrives. The course was conducted by Singapore Emergency Responder Academy (SERA) and it was organized by the Section committee in an initiative to educate our team members to react and administer proper assistance should an unfortunate incident happen during our football sessions or matches. We would like to thank these Members who have sacrificed their entire weekend, Vick from SERA, the SCC Sports Department and F&B Department for making it a successful and enjoyable one. Not forgetting our Committee Members Bruce Loggie and Paul Paffett for spear-heading this successful course.
SCC HOLIDAY CAMP During the month of July, we conducted two sessions of our very own SCC Holiday Football Camp. Each session consists of a fiveday program, in which the kids have the opportunity to practice and master basic football skills. We invited several ex-Singapore national team players during the camp to coach and engage with our academy players during the week. The players invited were ex-National defender R-Sasikumar, prolific striker Indra Sahdan, midfield maestro Abbas Saad, super-speedy Steven Tan and midfield general Samawira Basri. Camp attendees enjoyed themselves during the camp and also had the privilege to experience training like a professional footballer under the watchful guidance of our SCC Grassroot Coaches and celebrity coaches. We are looking forward to seeing more kids in the near future.
