INTERNATIONAL GAMES DAY @ YOUR LIBRARY The DCL joins thousands in celebrating the popularity and power of games. International Games Day strives to bring communities together to read, learn and play.

The DeWitt Community Library will join over a 1,000 libraries around the world on November 21, 2015, for the eighth annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ Your Library. Like so many other libraries across the country and around the world, the DCL will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for the whole family.

Nov - Dec 2015 DCL 5th Annual ‘Healthy Living’ Senior Fair Our 5th Annual ‘Healthy Living’ Senior Fair* was bigger and better than ever this year. Featuring 55 exhibitors representing financial services, benefit agencies, continuing education, recreation and volunteer opportunities. The event attracts several hundred people. Comments from attendees agreed that the diversity of the exhibitors this year was the best feature. Popular anchor and producer of Weekend Today in CNY Laura Hand addressed a crowd of enthusiastic fans on the benefits of pet ownership later in life.

As always, blood pressure testing, chiropractic evaluations, and hearing tests were available to those who attended.

DCL Fall Book & Bake Sale This November, the DeWitt Community Library and the Friends of the DeWitt Community Library are hosting a Book & Bake Sale.

Join us on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 (10:00am to 4:00pm) and Sunday, Nov. 15 (1:00pm to 5:00pm) to browse our selection of gently used books. The DCL Friends will be selling yummy treats on Friday and Saturday.

The suggested donation for each item is $1.00*, unless specially marked. Discover a treasure to read or enjoy a treat to taste. *Your Donation supports DCL programs and services.

NEWS BRIEFS NANOWRIMO Do you know this acronym? November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and the DCL is an official Municipal Liaison. We’ll be hosting events all month long to offer a space for you to write your great American novel. The goal is to complete a rough first draft of a 50,000 word book. Join us Mondays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 & 23 at 6:30pm, and share your writing experience with other writers, trade tips, and write your story.
