Murray Mills

August 21, 1945 – April 17, 2022

It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Murray Ellwood Mills, suddenly on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Murray leaves behind his special friend, Susan Beleutz. Loving father of Candy Glover (Dave) and Shawn Mills, and stepfather of Thomas Ogilwy (Mariko) and Jill Wales (Doug). Proud Papa of Mindy (Geoff ), Deanna, Kira ( Jerell), Kailee (Trust), DJ (Kayla), Crystal (Brad) and Emma. Murray was able to welcome his first greatgrandson, Summit. Survived by his brother, Garry Mills, several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Mills, his parents Lloyd Mills and Dorothy Mills (nee Hyatt), a brother Ken Mills, and two infant sons. In following Murray’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home - Wheatley Celebration Centre. Elizabeth Derksen

May 11, 1926 – April 15, 2022

Elizabeth Derksen passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Erie Shores HealthCare, one month before her 96th birthday. She was born in Reesor, Ontario, moved to Pelee Island in her youth, and lived the rest of her life in Leamington. She was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Henry Derksen (2011), her daughter Judy (2003), her son Larry (2022), and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Janet Woelk (Ben), her grandchildren Stephanie Kauffman (Brad), Matthew Woelk ( Juliet), Cole, Kyle and Christopher Derkson (and their mother Vicky), and her great-grandchildren Caleb, Kadin, Jacob and Adella Kauffman, her loving sisters-inlaw Edith Wiens, Ruth Derksen, Catherine Heinrichs, her brother-in-law John Wiens, and many nieces and nephews. Mom was tiny, but she was mighty, surviving several tragedies in her life. She will forever be remembered as the sweetest, most loving, and always generous Mom, Oma, and Uhr Oma that any family could ever have. We will miss her dearly, but we’re very happy that she is now in heaven with her Lord and Saviour. We’d like to thank the nurse at Erie Shores HealthCare and the staff at the Leamington Mennonite Home for their tender loving care. She leaves behind her sons, Martin (Mary), and Henry (Barb), as well as her grandchildren, Heidi Charles ( John), Kristine Verbeek and Stephen Verbeek, also her greatgrandchildren, Natalie, Emma and Justin Charles. March 13. At about 7:57 pm on Sunday, March 13, a lone vehicle traveling on Mersea Rd. 8 left the roadway and struck a bridge abutment and caught fire. Leamington Fire and Essex-Windsor EMS attended the scene and

found three deceased persons inside the vehicle. The three occupants have now been identified as Alexander Beleutz, 40, of Leamington, Michael Cabral, 41, of Chatham-Kent, and Kamila Lenart, 41, of Wheatley.
