HE way officials conduct themselves leaves a lot to be desired,” said KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu at the 2014/2015 budget adoption meeting last Wednesday. Mthembu was speaking at the Shakashead Community Hall. Once the budget was approved, he took the opportunity to lay into officials who he said were abusing their positions. “Officials are using their office to do their own thing and the work ethic is poor. We need to respect each other, communicate well with each other and be able to say KwaDukuza has leaders that can be respected, and whowecansayhaveledustoaparticular place. “We are representing the legacies of our forebears,” said Mthembu. “Honestyis the pillar that willtake us forward,” he added. Mthembu said he would be meeting with individuals to make sure all in office were in line with the municipality’s 2030 vision of “prosperity”.
