So often, the older pieces of furniture no longer fit in with our modern ways, styles or room design. The easy option is to throw out the old and replace with the new. The beauty of up cycling means you can retain the original piece but give it the modern twist adding a far more dynamic and exciting piece of furniture to your home, even more importantly, no one else will have a piece like it!!! I use chalk paint which lends itself perfectly to furniture and woods of all colours. It can be varnished or not and I always use a wax seal to ensure the refreshed items are protected against the general wear and tear of day to day life! Thus allowing the once tired and unloved pieces of furniture a fresh start in their position, with pride of place within the home. I enjoy the range of styles as well; working on briefs for adults or children, using multi-colours to more subtle pastel shades; anything goes and I think that is the pure beauty of being creative with art and design! hedders40@hotmail.com @cocoa_and_bing
