Yaklaşık yarım asırdır doğal taş, seramik ve kompozit malzemeler için üretim ve Ar-Ge yapan sektörün öncü firmalarından, Dellas Spa.. Dellas Spa is one of the leading companies in the sector which has been making production and R & D for ceramic and composite materials for nearly half a century. Erdem Tekeli, Manager of Dellas Spa in Turkey told us about the story, the road map and the goals of the company to Stonetech Magazine. “Dellas Spa,which uses technology well, is a model company for many others in the sector. Tekeli said:“The work we do is a bit like a tailor’s job. Every stone, every machine, every customer is a blank page for us. Developing technology forces us to push our limits. We have two successful applications for the gangsaw blades we recently realized. Behind the scenes of these successful results are Dellas Italy’s uninterrupted R&D and and special solutions for the Turkish marble sector.

COMPANY the leading companies in the sector that has been manufacturing and R&D for natural stone, ceramic and composite materials for nearly half a century. We have representative offices in 47 different regions of the world that provide sales and technical support. Therefore, we offer a wide spectrum of products and solutions. The story begins with Dellas in Turkey with Sabri Saraçoglu and DBC Mühendislik. The paths of Mr. Saraçoglu and Dellas, who is the representative of the leading companies of the sector, cross at the Verona Fair in 1996. The structure starting with the representation of DBC Mühendislik Company turns into a direct investment 16 years later in 2012. Dellas İstanbul Machinery Ind. Co. has been continuing its activities this way for about 8 years.

What do you attribute your company to operate in the sector for so many years? • First of all, Dellas has a culture specific to all its customers - exhibiting different approaches. The needs of every company in the natural stone industry can vary. We are also aware of this. The work we do is a bit like a tailor made. Each stone, each machine, each customer is a new page for us. Currently there are more than 3,000 analyze reports in our factory in Verona, including the Stones in Turkey. Our country has very fertile natural stone reserves. As a manufacturer, you must be open to these innovations. Your R&D should also be strong in terms of meeting the needs. Developing technology causes you to push your limits. Dellas is a company that continues its R&D activities without interruption. I can say that this culture has carried us and our customers forward 15

• Bu yenilikler ile ilgili son dönemde bahsedebileceğiniz neler var mesela? • Yakın zamanda katrak lamalarına yönelik iki başarılı uygulamamız var. Birincisi özellikle bej, gri ve sert taş kesimine yönelik yeni jenerasyon soketlerimiz rakiplerimize oranla bizi ileriye taşıdı. Öncelikle kesim kalitesi elbette vazgeçilmezimiz. Bununla beraber mermer üreticilerinin haklı talebi olan kesim hızı ve uzun ömrü bir arada verebilecek soket üretmek oldukça zor. Dellas yeni jenerasyon soketleri ile bunu başardı diyebiliriz. Ayrıca uzun süredir kalitesinden ve kullanım ömründen memnun olduğumuz paslanmaz (inox) lama saclarının kullanımına ağırlık vermeye başladık. Sektörün lider firmalarında kullandığımız inox lama sacları standart lama saclarından çok daha mukavim. Defalarca soketlenmesine rağmen sorunsuz olarak kullanabiliyoruz. Ayrıca açık renk taşların üzerinde iz bırakmaması malzemenin bir diğer avantajı. Paslanmaz saclarımızı yeni jenerasyon soketlerimizle birleştirdiğimizde fazlasıyla tatmin edici sonuçlar alıyoruz. Tabi tüm bu başarılı sonuçların perde arkasında Dellas İtalya’nın Ar-Ge’si ve Türk mermer sektörüne yönelik özel çözümler üretmesi de yatıyor. • Bundan sonrası için hedefleriniz nelerdir? • Geçmişten gelen 50 yıllık tecrübemize, günümüzün yeniliklerini ve dinamizmi ekleyerek hali hazırda geniş olan Türkiye ağımızı büyütüp, ülkemizin doğal taş sektöründeki hemen hemen her noktasına ulaşmayı hedefliyoruz. 16

• For example, what can you tell about these latest innovations? • Recently, we have two successful applications for gang-saw. First of all, our new generation segment cutting performance for beige, gray and hard stone have carried us forward compared to our competitors. The cutting quality is of course indispensable. However, it is very difficult to produce segments that can provide cutting speed and long life together, which is the rightful demand of marble producers. We can say that Dellas achieved this with new generation segments. In addition, we have started to focus on the use of stainless (inox) blades of which we are satisfied with their quality and service life for a long time. The inox blades we use in the leading companies of the sector are much more durable than standard blades. Although you may braze inox blades many times, we can use it without any problems. Another advantage of the material is, stainless steel do not leave any corrosion marks on light colored stones. When we combine our stainless steel with our new generation segments, we get extremely satisfactory results. Of course, behind the scenes of all these successful results, there lies Dellas Italy’s R&D and producing special solutions for the Turkish marble sector. • What are your goals for the future? • We aim to reach almost any point in the natural stone sector in our country when we combine our 50 years of our experience from the past, today’s innovation and dynamism.

Taş İşleme Fabrikalarının olmazsa olmazı: Indispensable Parts of Stone Processing Factories:

Arıtma Refining Mermer fabrikaları proseslerinde yoğun olarak su kullanan işletmelerdir. Küçük, orta ve büyük ölçekli fabrikalar olarak kapasiteleri genel hatlarıyla üçe ayırırsak ortalama 75m3/h, 300m3/h ve 900m3/h su çevrimi söz konusudur. Bu hacimdeki suyu hem devamlı olarak temin etmek hem de çıkacak atık su ile baş etmek mümkün değildir. Dolayısıyla fabrikadan çıkan atık suların muhakkak arıtılması ve geri kazanılması gerekmektedir.

Marble factories are enterprises that use water intensively in their processes. If we divide the capacities into three as small, medium and large-scale factories, there is an average of 75m3 / h, 300m3 / h and 900m3 / h water cycle. It is not possible to supply this volume of water continuously and to deal with the wastewater that will come out. Therefore, the wastewater output of the factory must be treated and recycled.

Bunun için iki tip yöntem vardır; ilki betonarme havuzlarla çöktürme yapılarak sağlanan ilkel yöntemdir. Bu yöntemde hem istenen kalitede arıtılmış su elde edilemez ve bu suyu üretimde tekrar kullanmak ürün kalitesine ciddi anlamda zarar verir hem de çıkan çamur bertarafı ciddi anlamda problem yaratmaktadır. İkinci yöntem ise Ketmak’ın öncülüğünü yaptığı arıtma tesisleri ile yapılan modern çözümlerdir. Bu modern tesislerde hem arıtılmış su kalitesi neredeyse içme suyu berraklığında alınmakta olup hem de bu suyun üretimde kullanılması ürün kalitesine pozitif etki yapmaktadır. Ayrıca çıkan çamurun suzulandırılması sağlandığından taşınması ve bertarafı çok daha kolay hale gelmektedir.

There are two types of methods for this; The first is the primitive precipitation method provided by reinforced concrete pools. In this method, both the desired quality treated water cannot be obtained, and reusing this water in production seriously damages the product quality and the resulting sludge disposal creates serious problems. The second method is a modern solution provided by treatment facilities pioneered by Ketmak. In these modern facilities, the quality of treated water is obtained almost as clear as drinking water, and the use of this water in production has a positive effect on product quality. In addition, since the extracted sludge is filtered, its transportation and disposal becomes much easier.

Modern arıtma tesisi prosesini kısaca özetlemek gerekirse; Proses; Dengeleme havuzunda toplanan atık suyu, kuyu üzerinde bulunan seviye problarından alınan sinyallere göre Dalgıç Pompa devreye girerek Sedimantasyon Tankına (Çöktürme Tankı) pompalar. Bu pompalama esnasında Dozlama Tankında otomatik olarak hazırlanmış olan kimyasal karışım Dozlama Pompası yardımıyla Sedimantasyon Tankına pompalanan atık suyun içerisine karıştırılır (Dalgıç ve Dozlama Pompası eş zamanlı olarak çalışırlar). Sedimantasyon Tankı içerisinde çamura dozlanan kimyasaldan dolayı hızlı bir çökme gerçekleşir. Sedimantasyon Tankının savaklarından süzülen temiz su Temiz Su Tankına geçerek depolanır ve depolanan su akışıyla ya da sirkülasyon pompasıyla fabrikaya kullanılmak üzere gönderilir. Sedimantasyon tankının konik kısmında biriken koyu kıvamlı çamur Aktüatör vana grubu yardımı ile alt tarafta bulunan Çamur Kazanına alınır ve karıştırıcılar yardımı ile homojen hale getirilir. Homojen haldeki çamur Filtre Prese Çamur pompası yardımı ile basılarak son susuzlaştırma gerçekleştirilir. Tüm bu proses Ketmak Tarafından Hazırlanan otomasyon kontrol sistemi sayesinde tam otomatik olarak 24 saat çalışabilir.

To briefly summarize the modern treatment plant process; Process; Pumps the wastewater collected in the balancing pool into the Sedimentation Tank (Settling Tank) by activating the Submersible Pump according to the signals received from the level probes on the well. During this pumping, the chemical mixture prepared automatically in the Dosing Tank is mixed into the wastewater pumped to the Sedimentation Tank with the help of the Dosing Pump (Submersible and Dosing Pump work simultaneously). A rapid collapse occurs due to the chemical dosed into the sludge in the Sedimentation Tank. Clean water filtered from the weirs of the Sedimentation Tank is stored in the Clean Water Tank and sent to the factory for use by the stored water flow or circulation pump. The thick sludge accumulated in the conical part of the sedimentation tank is taken to the mud tank located at the bottom with the help of the actuator valve group and made homogeneous with the help of mixers. The homogeneous sludge is pressed with the help of the Filter Press Sludge pump and the final dewatering is performed. All this process can work fully automatically for 24 hours thanks to the automation control system prepared by Ketmak.

Bir arıtma tesisinin verimli çalışmasındaki en önemli etkenlerin başında filtre bezi ve kimyasal seçimi gelmektedir. Ketmak arıtma tesisi projelendirme aşamasında fabrika atık suyundan aldığı numuneler ile laboratuvar ortamında uygun kimyasal seçimi için çöktürme testlerini yapar. Daha sonra pilot filtrepres ünitesinde, tesis için gerekli olan ‘cycle’ süresi ve pompa seçimi gibi tespitlerin yanında pek çok farklı filtre bezi denemesi ile tesis için ideal filtre bezi seçimi de yapılmaktadır. Ketmak Grup şirketleri altında kurulan Ketpol firması uzman kadrosuyla kimyasal ve filtre bezi konusunda hizmet vermektedir.

One of the most important factors in the efficient operation of a treatment plant is filter cloth and chemical selection. Ketmak treatment plant performs precipitation tests with the samples taken from the factory wastewater during the projecting phase for the selection of the appropriate chemicals in the laboratory. Later, in the pilot filter press unit, in addition to the determinations such as the ‘cycle’ period and pump selection required for the facility ideal filter cloth selection for the facility is made via many different filter cloth trials. Özellikle Multiwire için kullanılan tel çapı incelerek kesim firesi azalınca Türkiye’deki mermer üreticileri Multiwire yatırımı yapmaya başladı. Pandesi sonrasında Çin ve Hindistan gibi iki önemli blok pazarındaki daralma, işlenmiş ürün pazarında ise hareketlilik yaşanınca mermer üreticileri fabrika yatırımlarına hız verdi. Burdur’un Bucak ilçesinde faaliyet gösteren Derya Granit İspanyol Nodosafer ile Türkiye’ye ilk Multiwire ‘ı getirmişti. Türkiye’ye ikinci Multiwire yine Burdur Bucak’ta üretim yapan Euromer’e geldi. Multiwire tercihini İtalyan Pellegrini’den yana kullanan Euromer, 12 telli Multiwire ile Türkiye’de mermer kesiminde Multiwire kullanan ilk fabrika oldu. 22

Multiwire , which has been used for cutting hard stones such as granite and quartz for many years, has become widespread in marble cutting. Especially when the cutting losses are diminished together with the fine downed wire diameter used on Multiwire , marble manufacturers in Turkey has started to invest in Multiwire . After the pandemic, the contraction in the two important block markets such as China and India and the dynamism in the processed product market, accelerated the factory investments of marble manufacturers. Derya Granite operating in Bucak district of Burdur was the first to bring first Multiwire to Turkey with the production of Spanish Nodosaf. The second Multiwire in Tueky was purchased by EUROMERK from Italian Pellegrini in Bucak, Burdur. Euromar, which purchased a 12-wire Multiwire has been the first Multiwire using factory in Turkey.

Sektördeki üçüncü Multiwire ise Bilecik Söğüt’te üretim yapan Gökyar Mermer’e geliyor. Gökyar Mermer’in tercihi de yine Pellegrini’den yana oldu. Bu arada Toksel Makina tarafından üretilen 4 telli (kalın taş kesiminde kullanılacak) Multiwire ‘da yine Gökyar Mermer’de faaliyete girecek. Burdur’da yeni Organize Sanayi Bölgesi’nde yapımı devam eden Antalya Mermer’in yeni kuracağı fabrika da da iki adet Multiwire kurulacağı bilgisine ulaşılırken Multiwire ‘ların hangi firmadan alınacağı kesinlik kazanmadı. Hartek (HRK) ise 4.3 ebadındaki tel ile ilgili test çalışmalarında kullanmak üzere kullanılacak Multiwire için Brezilya’nın ünlü Hedel markası ile anlaşmaya vardı.

Geçtiğimiz yıl İstanbul’da düzenlenen MARBLETECH Fuarı’nda ilk defa ürettiği ve Megaladon adını verdikleri Multiwire ‘ı sergileyen Toksel Makina Makine üzerinde yaptığı bazı değişiklikler sonrasında makinayı Bilecik Söğüt’te faaliyet gösteren Gökyar Mermer’e kurma kararı aldı. Toksel Makina yetkililerinden aldığımız bilgiye göre Multiwire ‘da tel kalınlığı 5.3 olacak. Bu arada MKS tarafından üretilen Multiwire ise Eylül ayının son günlerinde ilk kez MKS Instagram sayfasında paylaşıldı. MKS yetkililerinden aldığımız bilgiye göre yakında deneme üretimine başlayacak oldukları Multiwire’ı öncelikle aile yatırımı olan General Mermer’e kuracaklarını ve gelişim sürecini burada tamamlayacaklarını belirttiler. Bu arada isminin açıklanmasını istemeyen bir üretici de Ekim ayı sonlarına doğru 30 telli bir Multiwire ‘ın faaliyete gireceğini deneme çalışmalarının sona ermesinden sonra ise taleplere göre üretim yapacaklarını belirtti.

This brand new technology slab polishing machine which is made in Turkey including the software, has not only a new appearance but also renovated qualities. By lightening the mobile bridge with two different methods, operation speed has been significantly increased compared to traditional machines. Momentum, the new generation slab polishing machine offers operation speed up to 70 m/min to its upcoming owners. Firstly in old slab polishing machines, heavy bridges that carry polishing heads cause loss of energy and restriction of production speed due to inertia. Whereas in Momentum, traditional bridge is eliminated and heads mounted together to form modular units. Dividing into modules each composed of four heads instead of a single heavy bridge is the second method that accelerates the speed. Accurate Power In traditional polishing machines, in addition to pneumatically actuated pressure, the weight of the head needs to be considered as well. In case of really fragile stones even the polishing heads’ weight may cause stone wastage and excess abrasive usage. In every Momentum polishing head there is an antipressure system active to balance heads’ weight to adjust pressure from pressure scale. Along with precise and effective polishing it prevents over usage of abrasive.

Bu nedenle cilanan plakaların ortasındaki ile kenarlarındaki cila kalitesi aynı olmaz. Momentum’da silici kafaların kalkma hareketi plaka yüzeyinden en fazla 1 cm. yükseklikte kilitlenerek plakanın her yerinde homojen bir cila kalitesi vaad ediliyor. Ayrıca silimde Türkiye’de ve dünyada ilk kez Toksel’in kullandığı foto-elektrik sensör sistemi plaka ölçülerini ve taştaki kırıkları temassız, hatasız ve yüksek çözünürlükte tarıyor. Geleneksel makinelerde mekanik ve temassız sensörler kullanılıyordu. Mekanik sensörler düşük çözünürlük, değişken kalınlıklarda hata ve çok sık arıza nedenleriyle popülerliğini yitirmişti. Temassız sensörler ise foto-elektrik sisteme göre daha düşük çözünürlük sunmalarına, açık veya koyu renk algılamada hata vermelerine, ortamdaki su ve tozdan etkilenerek yanlış sinyal vermelerine rağmen günümüz silim makinelerinde kullanılmaktaydı. Toksel’in devrim niteliğindeki foto-elektrik sensör sistemi, mekanik ve temassız sensörlerin aksine zorlu çalışma ortamından etkilenmez, tüm taş renklerini hatasız tarayabilir ve çok daha yüksek çözünürlük sunar. Arıza ve bakım ihtiyacı da geleneksel sensör ve mekanik switch sistemlerine göre minimumdur. Elbette her biçimde plaka için kusursuza daha yakın tarama demek, silici kafaların daha hassas hareket etmesi demek.

Abrasiv kafaların çalışma sırasında su ve tozdan etkilenmemesi için tüm sistem kapalı bir hazne içinde tasarlanmış. Tüm kafalardaki abrasiv miktarları anlık ve milimetrik olarak ölçülüyor. Abrasiv kritik seviyeye düştüğünde kullanıcı erken uyarılıp, otomatik durdurma fonksiyonu tüm kafalarda standart.

Homogeneus Polishing Quality In traditional machines, the polishing heads lift off about 15 cm. thus missing some edge parts of the slab not polished properly. This results in inconsistent polishing quality between the middle parts of the slab and the edges. In Momentum the lift off motion of the polishing heads is fixated on maximum 1 cm. from the slab surface. So it promises a homogenous polishing quality all over the slab. Toksel is the first to use photo-electric sensor technology in slab polishing machines in the world. With the help of photo-electric sensor system slab dimensions and tiny fractures on stones are being scanned at high definition. In traditional machines mechanic and contactless sensors were being used. Mechanical sensors have lost their popularity due to their low resolution, frequent errors in the face of varying stone thickness and excessive need for maintenance. Contactless sensors on the other hand, were still being used despite moderate quality of resolution, errors in different stone colours and dustywet conditions. Revolutionary photo-electric sensor system of Toksel, unlike other systems, does not get affected by harsh working conditions, can flawlessly scan all stone colours and offers high-resolution. Overhaul and maintenance requirements are much fewer than traditional and mechanic switch systems. Of course flawless scanning for all types and forms brings more accurate polishing.

In order to cover abrasive heads from dust and water all the system is designed to be in a closed shell. In each head, abrasive amount is checked precisely at any time. If the abrasive amount drops to critical levels, the user is notified and operation stops automatically. 29

Toksel Quality Principle Just like all other products from Toksel, replaceable stainless steel is used under the conveyor belt of Momentum. All the components that are contacting the water are especially chosen as stainless or bronze in order to maximize life expectancy of the machine. Yet another interesting feature of Momentum is the oiling system of polishing heads is automatic and they are using liquid lubricant instead of grease. This detail increases the lifetime of all the mechanical parts and bearings.

It has a three-wheel drive with an Italian traction system to move between the stages in the marble quarries. It includes a 360-degree rotating slide, boom extension system and slide slide system.
