The first half term at PBA is complete and it has been quite the roller-coaster. Having welcomed our new pupils into the school it was amazing to see how quickly they settled and immediately felt part of the school. For any organisation the inclusion of nearly 200 hundred new faces, both staff and pupils (all on the same day), is going to take a little bit of time to get used to. We have been fantastically lucky in that not only have pupils engaged with all we have to offer enthusiastically we have also had a body of staff prepared to provide some super opportunities. I CLAIRE’S must also thank our parents and carers for giving CAT SITTING us a little latitude while we got our new systems up Stotfold based and running. cat sitting service We have had a number of firsts this half term, our first away game of football and netball, our first Your cats looked after in your goal, our first visit to the houses of parliament and our first visit of the year from a professional artist. own home while you are away, Add into the mix the inclusion of our first public speaking club, Pokémon club, dance club and a giving you complete peace of whole host of lunchtime activities, with over 300 pupils participating and you can only imagine what mind.I am fully insured & can every day has felt like! feed your cats once or twice a day. We now enter the darker months and hope that any chance of further impact by COVID-19 continues to diminish. We recognise that young people have been so dramatically hit by the pandemic. They have had hugely disrupted schooling over the last few years and it is vital that they receive some consistency and coherence from their school. At PBA we are determined to ensure that lessons are structured, classes are ordered and pupils have every chance to enjoy the whole rounded school experience that has been so difficult in the last couple of years. It is amazing to imagine that the last time our year 5 pupils had a normal year they were in year 2! In November we look forward to our Open evening. This is the first time the school will be able to have an event of this nature and be able to welcome visitors into the school. As a precaution we will be operating a slightly different schedule by asking the parents and carers of the different lower schools to arrive at different times. It is our hope that this will prevent too much mixing of groups and minimise the ongoing risk of a COVID outbreak.
