Shizuoka Prefecture has a wide variety of attractive tourist spots such as the World Heritage Site, the Mount Fuji. One of my recommended spots with amazing view of Mt. Fuji is Lake Tanuki. It is located in Asagiri highlands on the foot of Mt. Fuji at Fujinomiya City in Shizuoka Prefecture. The unusual charm of Lake Tanuki is the amazing landscape formed by Mt. Fuji, huge, beautiful lake and seasonal flowers and trees by the lakeside. Many people who visit the place enjoy outdoor leisures like fishing, hiking

and cycling. There is also a camping ground at the lakeside. If you make a short walk over the Fuji View Lakeside Hotel and Spa, you can enjoy the hot spring bath overlooking the lake with Mt. Fuji in the distance. The lake attracts photographers to capture Mt. Fuji’s reflection in the lake surface. The sunrise from the peak of Mt. Fuji known as “Diamond Fuji” is also a well-known sight around April to August. If you love nature – calm, relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, Lake Tanuki is one of the perfect places to go.
