Con el Día de Reyes se puede dar por concluido el calendario navideño hasta finales de este año.

Pero el comienzo del mes de enero es también el pistoletazo de salida para las rebajas. Unas semanas que se pueden aprovechar para adquirir aquello que necesitamos o para comprar algún obsequio a precios más reducidos y, al mismo tiempo, contribuir a disminuir nuestra huella en el entorno comprando productos y ropa sostenibles.

La emergencia climática es una realidad en la que los consumidores juegan un papel fundamental. Por ello, a través de diversas apuestas sostenibles, como la compra de productos reciclados en tiendas de segunda mano, se potencia la compra responsable y, a la vez, se contribuye a mitigar el impacto medioambiental.

En Tenerife existen varias tiendas que tratan de seguir la denominada “economía circular”, un término que implica cambiar la concepción de “producir, usar y tirar” por la de “reducir, reusar y reciclar”.

En Bigan Clothing, por ejemplo, llevan por lema “moda sostenible, consciente y vegana”. Ofrecen una gama de productos que se fabrican con fibras y agua reciclada para el proceso de hilado, lo que además posibilita que el producto final se pueda volver a reciclar. Otra opción puede ser Anticuaria Contemporánea, una pequeña tienda ubicada en la zona metropolitana de Santa Cruz que cuenta con una gran cantidad de productos de segunda mano seleccionados. Además, al adquirir esta ropa vintage, característica de épocas pasadas, se reduce la producción de nuevas prendas, lo que se traduce en ahorro de recursos y en menos residuos.

buena alternativa si te encuentras en la zona sur de la Isla, concretamente en las cercanías del centro comercial Apolo. Cuenta con calzado y con ropa tanto para hombre como para mujer a un precio asequible. Además, también puedes donar tus propias prendas vintage y aportar así tu granito de arena en la lucha por el medio ambiente.

At the same time, we have the opportunity to help cut our environmental footprint by buying sustainable products and clothes.

Diese Angebotswochen eignen sich hervorragend, um das zu erwerben, was wir brauchen, oder um ein Geschenk zu günstigeren Preisen zu kaufen und gleichzeitig dazu beizutragen, unseren Eingriff in die Umwelt zu verringern, indem wir nachhaltige Produkte und Kleidung kaufen.

The climate emergency is a reality in which consumers play a key role. A range of sustainable actions such as buying recycled items in second-hand shops help promote responsible shopping and, by extension, reduce our impact on the environment.

A number of shops in Tenerife endeavour to be part of the so-called “circular economy”, the term for replacing the concept of “make, use, dispose” by “reduce, reuse, recycle”. One example is Bigan Clothing, whose motto is “sustainable, conscious and vegan fashion”.

Durch den Erwerb dieser für vergangene Zeiten typischen Vintage-Mode wird außerdem die Produktion neuer Kleidungsstücke reduziert, was zu Ressourceneinsparungen und weniger Abfall führt.

Almogrote. This La Gomera dish is based on the tasty, slightly spicy cheese produced on the island. It is made by shredding very mature cheese (a very hard one is best) and mixing it with hot paprika, adding garlic and olive oil to taste, and then stirring the mix until a thick paste is achieved.

Arvejas (peas). An ever-present in home cooking and local guachinche eateries, garden peas or Pisum sativus (scientific name) from Tenerife differ due to their growing cycle and varieties (60-day; smoothseeded …). Great allies of traditional cooking, served as a stew with hard-boiled eggs, they have always been on hand down the years to satisfy cravings in restaurants.

Piña tropical de Buenavista del Norte. Denominada gold o dorada (también se la conoce como MD2), es reconocida internacionalmente por su gran aroma y su exquisito sabor; contiene el doble de vitamina C que otras especies. Cien gramos de esta fruta cultivada en El Rincón proporcionan 50 kilocalorías.

Su sabor tropical y exótico atrae por el bajo nivel de acidez.

Arvejas. Imprescindibles en la cocina casera y en guachinches, la arveja o Pisum sativus (denominación científica) se diferencia en Tenerife por su ciclo de cultivo y sus variedades (arvejas de 60 días; arvejas lisas…). Estupendas aliadas de la cocina tradicional, compuestas y con su huevo duro, siempre estuvieron ahí para resolver antojos en las casas de comida de toda época.

Known as “gold” (also, MD2), this variety of pineapple is internationally famous for its lovely smell and delicious flavour. Its vitamin C content is twice as high as that of other species of pineapple. One hundred grams of this fruit farmed in El Rincón provide 50 kilocalories.

The pineapple’s exotic tropical taste is particularly attractive because of its low acidity.

Almogrote. Dieser köstliche, aus dem Käse der „Kolumbus-Insel“ La Gomera hergestellte Aufstrich besitzt einen leicht würzigen Geschmack. Zu seiner Herstellung wird ein sehr ausgereifter, harter Käse klein gerieben, mit scharfem Pfeffer, Knoblauch und Olivenöl nach Belieben gemischt und so lange umgerührt, bis man eine cremige Paste erhält.

Almogrote. Es una elaboración gomera basada en el queso de la Isla Colombina, muy sabroso y ligeramente picante. Para obtenerlo, es preciso triturar un queso muy curado (particularmente uno muy duro) y mezclarlo con pimienta picona, ajo y aceite de oliva al gusto. Todo se revuelve hasta que adquiere una consistencia densa.

Erbsen. Erbsen, oder Pisum sativus in ihrer wissenschaftlichen Bezeichnung, sind ein unverzichtbares Produkt der heimischen Küche und werden gern in den ländlichen Gastwirtschaften, Guachinches, gereicht. Die hiesigen Erbsen unterscheiden sich durch ihren Erntezyklus und Sortenvielfalt (60-Tage-Erbsen; glatte Erbsen ...).

Zu allen Zeiten konnte man sie in der traditionellen Küche antreffen. Vor allem als Erbseneintopf mit hart gekochten Eiern haben sie immer schon den Hunger der Gäste in den Wirtstuben gestillt.

Ananas aus Buenavista del Norte. Die hiesig angebaute Ananas trägt die Bezeichnung „Gold“, „Dorada“ oder „MD2“ und ist international für ihr großartiges Aroma und exquisiten Geschmack bekannt. Sie enthält doppelt so viel Vitamin C wie andere Arten. Einhundert Gramm dieser in El Rincón angebauten Frucht liefern 50 Kilokalorien. Ihr tropischer, exotischer Geschmack besticht durch den niedrigen Säuregehalt.

Ingredientes: • 800 gramos de arvejas (guisantes) • 1 cebolla • ¼ o ½ pimiento rojo • ¼ o ½ pimiento verde • 2 dientes de ajo • Vino blanco para cocinar • 800 gramos de tomate frito natural triturado • 4 huevos duros • Papas fritas • Aceite de oliva • Sal • Azúcar

Arvejas compuestas Pea stew Erbseneintopf

Empezamos picando la cebolla, los pimientos y los dientes de ajo en cuadraditos pequeños. A continuación, echamos esos ingredientes en una sartén cubierta con una fina capa de aceite de oliva. Cuando la cebolla y los pimientos estén bien pochados y el ajo se haya dorado, vertemos el vino blanco; después, el tomate triturado; y, por último, el azúcar y la sal al gusto. En el momento en que empieza a hervir la salsa, añadimos las arvejas y cocinamos hasta que estén tiernas. Cuando esté todo hecho, servimos acompañadas de papas fritas cortadas en cuadraditos y de un huevo duro.

Method Chop the onion, peppers and garlic cloves into small squares. Place in frying pan with a very thin coating of olive oil. Once the onion and peppers are well sautéed and the garlic has turned golden, add the white wine followed by the crushed tomatoes and, lastly, sugar and salt to taste. When the sauce begins to bubble, add the peas and cook until tender. When everything is fully cooked, serve with French fries cut into small squares and a hardboiled egg.

Zubereitung Wir beginnen damit, Zwiebel, Paprikaschoten und Knoblauchzehen klein zu schneiden. Dann geben wir diese Zutaten in eine Pfanne, die mit einer dünnen Schicht Olivenöl bedeckt ist. Wenn die Zwiebel und die Paprika gut pochiert sind und der Knoblauch gebräunt ist, gießen wir zunächst den Weißwein und dann die Tomatensoße hinzu. Zum Schluss mit Zucker und Salz abschmecken. Wenn die Soße zu kochen beginnt, die Erbsen hinzufügen und so lange kochen, bis diese zart sind. Wenn der Eintopf fertig ist, servieren wir ihn mit gewürfelten Pommes Frites und einem hart gekochten Ei.

Declarado ya Reserva de la Biosfera, el macizo de Anaga, en Santa Cruz, es una joya de la diversidad de la naturaleza rematada por una playa mítica para los amantes de la libertad, el nudismo y la simbiosis con el medio.

Benijo no defrauda a los de espíritu alternativo. Su acceso en coche es sencillo, cuenta con varios restaurantes con aparcamientos (si se consume) y se llega a su característica arena negra volcánica tras bajar una escalera sin peligro. Abajo, y aunque conviene ser precavido por las mareas, la cala le sorprenderá por sus variadas zonas de baño, la tranquilidad ambiental y los impresionantes roques de Anaga. Un verdadero lujo.

Benijo enttäuscht keinen alternativ denkenden Geist. Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto ist einfach und der Ort hat mehrere Restaurants mit Parkplätzen (für Gäste). Über eine Leiter gelangt man sicher an den für den Inselnorden charakteristischen, schwarzen vulkanischen Sandstrand. Obwohl man aufgrund des Gezeitenwechsels immer vorsichtig sein sollte, überrascht die Bucht mit ihren verschiedenen Badegebieten, der überall herrschenden Ruhe und den beeindruckenden Felsen der Roques de Anaga. Ein echter Luxus!

Canary Island juniper Tenerife lizard

This tree is a variant of European junipers, with which it bears many similarities. It is found in Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and Gran Canaria. Its valuable timber made it popular in bygone days with Canarian carpenters, particularly for household furniture, although excessive felling led it to be declared an endangered species and it is no longer used for carpentry purposes.

This reptile is native to Tenerife, with various subspecies distributed across the island, including the southwest, north, and Roque Fuera off the Anaga coast. It prefers dry, sunny parts, which is why it tends not to be found in laurel forest. Although omnivorous, its diet consists largely of fruit, buds and stalks.

The lizard is recognisable for the characteristic blue patches on its scaly body and some specimens can grow to 30 cm long. Males are larger than females and their blue patches tend to be concentrated around the face. The females’ blue is lighter or they can have black dorsolateral stripes, which may or may not be continuous the length of their body.

Lagarto tizón Es un reptil endémico de Tenerife que cuenta con distintas subespecies repartidas por toda la Isla, en zonas como el suroeste, el norte y el Roque de Fuera, en Anaga. Tiene preferencia por lugares secos y soleados, por lo que es atípico hallarlo en áreas de laurisilva. Su dieta es de tipo omnívoro, pero tiene predominancia por frutos, yemas y tallos.

The tree can grow to between 5 and 20 metres, although according to some studies in past times it reached 30 metres. It tends to grow in thermophilic forest, upper Canarian woodland and pine forest, and is among Canarian trees that adapt well both to the humid climate in winter and the dry summer climate.

Canarian juniper wood has medicinal properties and is used as an antiparasitic or anti-inflammatory for certain injuries.

Kanarische Zeder Kanaren-Eidechse Es handelt sich um ein endemisches Reptil Teneriffas, dessen Unterarten über die ganze Insel verteilt sind, so z. B. in Gebieten des Südwestens der Insel, im Norden und am Felsen des Roque de Fuera in Anaga. Die Kanaren-Eidechse bevorzugt trockene, sonnige Orte, weshalb man sie nur selten in Zonen des Lorbeerwaldes antrifft. Obwohl sie ein Allesfresser ist, bevorzugt sie Früchte, Eigelb und Pflanzenstängel.

Mit ihrer charakteristischen blauen Farbe und dem schuppigen Körper können sie eine Länge von bis zu 30 Zentimetern erreichen, wobei die Männchen größer sind und sich die blauen Flecken meist im Gesichtsbereich befinden. Die Weibchen hingegen haben einen helleren bläulichen Farbton und seitliche schwarze Rumpfstreifen am gesamten Körper, die durchgehend oder unterbrochen sein können.

Cedro canario Es una variante de los enebros europeos, un tipo de árbol con el que guarda bastantes similitudes. Se puede encontrar en Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera y Gran Canaria. El valor de su madera hizo que fuese utilizado como materia prima por los carpinteros canarios, especialmente en la elaboración de muebles de hogar. Sin embargo, por culpa de la excesiva tala, es considerada una especie protegida, por lo que ya no se utiliza en carpintería.

Puede llegar a medir entre cinco y 20 metros de altura, aunque hay estudios que apuntan a que en su momento pudieron llegar a alcanzar los 30 metros.

Suele florecer en el bosque termófilo, alta montaña canaria y pinar, de forma que es un tipo de árbol canario adaptado a los climas húmedos de invierno y a los secos en verano. Su madera tiene propiedades medicinales y se utiliza como antiparasitaria o antiinflamatoria para tratar algunas heridas.

Die Kanarische Zeder ist eine Variante des europäischen Wacholders, einer Baumart, mit der sie viele Ähnlichkeiten hat. Sie tritt auf Teneriffa, La Palma, La Gomera und Gran Canaria auf. Aufgrund der Güte ihres Holzes wurde sie insbesondere zur Herstellung von Möbeln häufig von kanarischen Zimmerleuten verarbeitet. Wegen des übermäßigen Holzeinschlags in der Vergangenheit aber steht sie heute unter Naturschutz und wird nicht mehr in der Tischlerei verwendet.

Sie kann eine Höhe von fünf bis 20 Metern erreichen, obwohl es Studien gibt, die darauf hindeuten, dass es Exemplare gab, die bis zu 30 Meter hoch waren. Ihre Blüte in den wärmeliebenden Trockenwäldern, sowie den hohen kanarischen Bergund Kiefernwäldern zeigt, dass es eine kanarische Baumart ist, die sich an das an feuchte Klima im Winter und das trockene im Sommer angepasst hat. Ihr Holz besitzt Heilkräfte und wird gegen Parasiten oder als Entzündungshemmer zur Behandlung von Wunden verwendet.

Esta sencilla ruta circular, de poco más de tres kilómetros de longitud y apenas 200 metros de desnivel, es ideal para aproximarnos por primera vez a las maravillas que esconde el Parque Nacional del Teide, declarado Patrimonio Mundial por la Unesco. Partiendo del aparcamiento de La Ruleta, junto al Parador Nacional de Cañada Blanca, seguiremos las señales del sendero 3, que nos conducirán nuevamente al punto de partida tras rodear a pie la espectacular y emblemática formación rocosa conocida como los Roques de García, uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Tenerife, icónico marco de las postales y fotografías más conocidas del legendario volcán Teide.

Starting in La Ruleta car park, beside the Cañada Blanca National Parador, we follow the signposts for Track 3 which will bring us back to the starting point after walking round the spectacular and emblematic rock formation known as Roques de García, one of the most iconic spots of Tenerife, enhancing the best known postcards and pictures of the legendary Teide volcano.

Eine Landschaft zum Einrahmen Der einfache, etwas über 3 Kilometer lange Rundwanderweg mit kaum 200 Meter Höhenunterschied ist ideal für alle diejenigen, die zum ersten Mal den Teide-Nationalpark - Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO - besuchen. Ausgangspunkt ist der Parkplatz von La Ruleta neben dem Hotel Parador Nacional de Cañada Blanca.

Wir folgen den Markierungen des Wanderweges “Sendero 3”, der uns um die spektakuläre Felsformation der Roques de García herum zum Ausgangspunkt zurückführt. Die Felsen sind eine der meistfotografierten Sehenswürdigkeiten Teneriffas und auf unzähligen Ansichtskarten des legendären Vulkans El Teide zu sehen.

Mercedes Pinto Armas de la Rosa y Clos (1883-1976), in addition to her literary skills, was also famous for her courage; yes, because in the difficult times she lived in, she was able to fight dauntlessly for equal rights between men and women and other civil rights, with two arms that she knew how to handle perfectly: Education and Culture. The event which marked her life and prompted her subsequent move to America was the paper she read in the Central University of Madrid in 1923, ‘Divorce as antiseptic measure’, direct grounds for her exile under the threats of dictator Primo de Rivera.

“Come and give me your hand, which will be like bronze in mine, and thus cast we will make a breakthrough in the world, if enemy hands should erect fences …” (from her poem Rebelión).

Mercedes Pinto Armas de la Rosa y Clos (1883-1976) destaca –además de por su valía literaria– por su valentía. Sí, porque en un tiempo difícil, en el que vivió, supo luchar denodadamente para lograr la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres, entre otros derechos civiles, con dos armas que dominaba a la perfección: educación y cultura. El hecho que marcó su trayectoria y su posterior peregrinaje a América fue la ponencia que leyó en la Universidad Central de Madrid en 1923: El divorcio como medida higiénica, motivo directo de su exilio bajo las amenazas del dictador Primo de Rivera.

Mercedes Pinto Armas de la Rosa y Clos (1883 - 1976) ragte über ihre literarische Größe durch ihren Mut heraus, weil sie sich in der sehr schwierigen Zeit, in der sie lebte, mit allen Kräften für die Gleichstellung von Männern und Frauen, sowie andere Bürgerrechte einsetzte. Und sie tat dies mit den zwei Waffen, die sie am besten beherrschte: Bildung und Kultur. Das Ereignis, das ihre Karriere zeichnete und ihr anschließendes Exil in Amerika zur Konsequenz hatte, war ein Vortrag an der Universidad Central von Madrid im Jahr 1923, bei dem sie das Recht auf Scheidung als hygienische Maßnahme forderte.

Angesichts der darauf folgenden Androhungen des Diktators Primo de Rivera gegen sie sah sie sich gezwungen, Spanien nur kurze Zeit später zu verlassen.

“Ven y dame tu mano, que en la mía será como de bronce, y así fundidas romperemos el mundo, si en el mundo vallas levantan manos enemigas…” (de su poema Rebelión).

El municipio tinerfeño de El Rosario posee una gran diversidad de paisajes y cuenta con algunos bienes de interés cultural de gran valor patrimonial, como la ermita de Machado, que data del año 1531 y acoge a la Virgen de El Rosario, patrona de la localidad.

El Rosario, eine Gemeinde voller Überraschungen Die Gemeinde El Rosario auf Teneriffa ist landschaftlich sehr vielfältig und besitzt mehrere historisch wertvolle Kulturgüter, wie z. B. die aus dem Jahr 1531 stammende Einsiedelei von Machado, in der die Schutzpatronin der Stadt, die Jungfrau vom Rosenkranz verehrt wird.

Esta construcción religiosa está ubicada en torno a otro bien de interés cultural: la casa del corsario Amaro Rodríguez Felipe, llamado popularmente Amaro Pargo. Esta vivienda, a la que se conoce como “la casa del pirata”, tiene un gran valor histórico y hay quienes se han adentrado en ella esperando hallar la fortuna que amasó Pargo.

El Rosario, a town with variety

Muy cerca de ese casco histórico se encuentra un bosque milenario, que dispone de todo un camino envuelto en laurisilva. Una atracción turística para visitantes y para quienes quieran conocer la particularidad de la flora autóctona.

The Tenerife town of El Rosario boasts a wide diversity of landscapes as well as several sites of major cultural interest, including the small Machado chapel that dates back to 1531 and houses the image of the town’s patron: the Virgin of El Rosario.

The church is located near another building of cultural interest: the home of privateer Amaro Rodríguez Felipe, known popularly as Amaro Pargo. Dubbed “the pirate’s house”, the building is of great historical value and some have entered it in the hope of finding Pargo’s massive fortune.

Por tanto, por el gran valor patrimonial y natural que encierra, El Rosario es un municipio enriquecedor en todos los sentidos que debes visitar sin excusas.

Close to the town’s historic centre lies a very old forest with a trail that takes walkers through lush laurel forest. It is an attraction for tourists and for anyone keen to experience the uniqueness of the area’s native flora.

Given its importance in terms of heritage and natural beauty, El Rosario is an enriching town in all respects and there is no excuse not to pay a visit.

Ganz in der Nähe der genannten Kapelle befindet sich das ebenfalls kulturell sehr wertvolle Haus des Freibeuters Amaro Rodríguez Felipe, im Volksmund Amaro Pargo genannt. Das unter dem Namen „Haus des Piraten“ bekannte Gebäude hat eine große historische Bedeutung inne und so manch einer hat seine Gemäuer in der Hoffnung betreten, den Schatz zu entdecken, den Pargo angehäuft haben soll.

In der unmittelbaren Umgebung des historischen Zentrums setzt ein sehr sehenswerter uralter Wald Besucher und Einheimische in Erstaunen. Umhüllt vom Dickicht des Lorbeerwaldes führt ein Pfad durch ihn, auf dem man hervorragend die Besonderheiten der heimischen Flora kennenlernen kann.

Ein Besuch von El Rosario ist aufgrund seines großen und wertvollen Naturund Kulturerbes in jeder Hinsicht sehr bereichernd. Versäumen Sie es nicht!
