Tenerife es una isla de grandes contrastes en sus paisajes. Recorrerla es viajar por mundos de arena negra, llanuras desérticas, caminos de lava y bosques de una espesura verde que deja sin habla. Por eso, no es casualidad que casi la mitad de su superficie esté protegida. Quizá el espacio de estas características más conocido sea el Parque Nacional del Teide, uno de los lugares más visitados por turistas y residentes cada año. Pero, en esta ocasión, dejaremos a un lado al volcán vigía de Canarias para adentrarnos en los dos parques rurales que custodian ambos extremos de la Isla: Teno y Anaga.

Los parques rurales de Teno y Anaga se asientan sobre dos de los tres macizos volcánicos que dieron lugar a Tenerife y que se formaron hace más de seis millones de años: el macizo de Teno y el macizo de Anaga. La complicada orografía de gran parte de estos territorios, caracterizada por abruptas elevaciones y profundos barrancos, ha

permitido que los valores paisajísticos y etnográficos se mantengan hoy en día intactos.

En el Parque Rural de Teno, que abarca parte de varios municipios del extremo noroccidental de Tenerife (Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque y Santiago del Teide), destacan sus grandes acantilados, como el de Los Gigantes, y profundos y sinuosos barrancos que desembocan en playas de callaos y arena negra. Desde su punto más bajo hasta el más alto se conservan viviendas tradicionales y antiguos caminos,

así como yacimientos arqueológicos que confirman la presencia aborigen en la zona. Por su parte, el Parque Rural de Anaga, que se extiende por los municipios de La Laguna, Santa Cruz y Tegueste, y que fue declarado Reserva de Biosfera por la Unesco, cuenta también con importantes caseríos esparcidos, en muchas ocasiones, por las mismas laderas de los barrancos y a los pies de imponentes roques de piedra que salpican las montañas.

No obstante, una de las postales más fotografiadas es, sin duda, la de los es-

pectaculares bosques de laurisilva que tiñen de verde las medianías de estas zonas de la Isla. La laurisilva es una huella del Terciario que sobrevive en algunas de las islas de la Macaronesia y que acoge gran cantidad de endemismos, como la paloma turqué, la paloma rabiche y el delfino o coderno (uno de los árboles más curiosos y difíciles de ver, presente solo en el archipiélago canario). ¿Te atreves a descubrir todos los secretos de estos extraordinarios rincones de Tenerife?

RURAL PARKS IN TENERIFE / LANDSCHAFTSPARKS AUF TENERIFFA

Tenerife’s ravines and laurel forests Tenerife is an island of vast scenic contrasts and a trip through the island transports you to worlds of black sand, desert plains, lava trails and breath-taking lush forests.

Unsurprisingly, almost half the island is protected by legislation. Its best-known protected space is probably the Teide National Park, which is one of the spots most visited by tourists and locals alike.

On this occasion, however, we will bypass the volcano that stands watch over the Canaries and head instead to the two rural parks that guard the two ends of Tenerife: Teno and Anaga.

The two parks are situated on two of the three volcanic mountain ranges which gave rise to Tenerife and were formed over six million years ago: the Teno and Anaga massifs. The extremely rugged nature of a large part of these areas, characterised by steep mountainsides and deep ravines, has helped preserve their landscape and ethnographic values intact today.

The Teno Rural Park covers several municipalities in Tenerife’s north-west tip (Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque and Santiago del Teide) and is home to giant cliffs, such as Los Gigantes, and deep and winding ravines that lead down to shingle, black sand beaches. From its lowest to highest point, you will find traditional dwellings and age-old trails, as well as archaeological sites attesting to the presence in these parts of the island’s earliest inhabitants.

For its part, the Anaga Rural Park, which includes parts of La Laguna, Santa Cruz and Tegueste and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco, contains large hamlets which are often situated on ravine slopes or at the foot of the giant lava-neck rock formations dotted throughout the mountains.

However, among Tenerife’s most photographed landscapes are the spectacular laurel forests that give the hills in this part of the island their lush green colour. A remnant of the Tertiary Period, these forests still survive in the islands of Macaronesia and are home to a large number of endemic species such as Bolle’s pigeon, the laurel pigeon and the ‘delfino’ or ‘coderno’ (Pleiomeris canariensis), one of the rarest and most peculiar trees in existence and found only in the Canary Islands.

Teneriffa zwischen Schluchten und Lorbeerwäldern Teneriffa ist eine Insel großer landschaftlicher Kontraste. Eine Reise durch ihre Landschaften bedeutet, Welten schwarzen Sandes, wüstenartige Ebenen, gewaltige Lavaströme und dicht belaubte, grüne Wälder zu entdecken, die einen in stilles Staunen versetzen. Daher ist es kein Zufall, dass fast die Hälfte der Inseloberfläche unter Naturschutz steht. Allen voran steht der Teide-Nationalpark, einer der sowohl von Touristen als auch Inselbewohnern meist besuchten Landschaftsräume. Doch an dieser Stelle werden wir heute diesen majestätisch über den Kanarischen Inseln thronenden Vulkan außer Acht lassen und über die beiden Landschaftsparks berichten, die beide Enden der Insel bewachen: Teno und Anaga.

Die Landschaftsparks von Teno und Anaga ruhen auf zwei der drei Vulkanmassive, aus denen Teneriffa entstand und die vor mehr als sechs Millionen Jahren aus dem Meer auftauchten: das Teno-Massiv und das AnagaMassiv. Die zerklüftete geologische Gestalt eines Großteils dieser Landschaftsräume mit ihren steilen Erhebungen und tiefen Schluchten hat es ermöglicht, dass diese landschaftlichen und ethnographischen Juwelen bis auf den heutigen erhalten blieben.

Der sich über die im Nordwesten Teneriffas gelegenen Gemeinden Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque und Santiago del Teide erstreckende Teno-Landschaftspark zeichnet sich durch atemberaubende Klippen, wie die von Los Gigantes, und die abgrundtiefen, vielfach gewundenen Schluchten aus, die in Kiesel- und schwarze Sandstrände münden.

Von seinen tiefst gelegenen Landstrichen bis hinauf zu den höchsten Erhebungen finden wir bis heute zahlreiche traditionelle Landhäuser, uralte Wege, sowie archäologische Fundstätten, die von den Ureinwohnern Teneriffas, den Guanchen, zeugen.

Der Anaga-Landschaftspark verteilt sich seinerseits über die Gemeinden La Laguna, Santa Cruz und Tegueste. Er wurde von der UNESCO zum Biosphärenreservat erklärt und beherbergt kleine, uralte, verstreut liegende Dörfer, die sich oft an die Schluchthänge schmiegen oder zu Füßen der atemberaubenden Steinfelsen des Landstrichs liegen.

Eine der am häufigsten fotografierten Ansichten ist jedoch zweifellos die des spektakulären Lorbeerwaldes, der die Landschaften in mittlerer Höhenlage in sein Grün taucht. Die aus dem Zeitalter des Tertiärs stammenden und auf den westatlantischen Archipelen erhalten gebliebenen Lorbeerwälder beherbergen eine große Anzahl endemischer Tier- und Pflanzenarten, wie zwei Lorbeertaubenarten oder den heidekrautartigen Baum Pleiomeris canariensis, der zu den seltensten Baumarten gehört und nur auf den Kanarischen Inseln vorkommt.

The Canarian kestrel is a subspecies of the common kestrel that lives in the Canary Islands. This bird of prey is a small falcon with narrow and pointed wings that give it great versatility when moving through the air.

The kestrel can be seen in numerous locations including ravines, towns and even cities, although it prefers rural areas and farmland. It has a varied diet, feeding on mice, lizards, geckos, skinks, insects and other invertebrates. It is very territorial and aggressive towards other birds, even much larger ones.

Breeding starts in February-March, with between three and six eggs laid.

Incubation lasts almost 30 days and the chicks begin to fly after approximately one month, although they do not become independent until the age of two months.

This species of tree, which is endemic to the Canary Islands, can grow to heights of eight metres. It has a thick and sturdy trunk, greyish-coloured bark and dark green foliage. It adapts to all types of terrain from sea level to 1400 metres and flowers in late winter or in spring.

A monoecious species (its flowers can be male or female), the male flowers grow at the tips of twigs and the female ones in the axils. The quality of the wood from this robust shrub led to its widespread use by the islands’ early inhabitants.

The distinctive whimsical shapes of the junipers are due to the fact that they are exposed to the wind for long periods.

Cernícalo canario Es una subespecie del cernícalo común que habita en el archipiélago canario.

Esta ave rapaz es un tipo de halcón de tamaño pequeño que posee unas alas estrechas y puntiagudas que le permiten una mayor versatilidad en sus movimientos aéreos. Se puede avistar en multitud de entornos como barrancos, pueblos y ciudades, aunque es una especie que siente predilección por zonas rurales y agrícolas. Su dieta es muy variada, puesto que se alimenta de ratones, lagartos, lisas, perenquenes, insectos y otros invertebrados. Además, es un animal muy territorial y amenazante con otras aves, incluso con aquellas que le superan en tamaño.

Entre febrero y marzo comienza su época de reproducción, en la que pueden poner entre tres y seis huevos. La incubación dura casi 30 días y los polluelos comienzan a echar el vuelo al mes de vida, aunque no se independizan hasta los dos meses.

Kanarischer Turmfalke Der Kanarische Turmfalke eine Unterart des Falco tinnunculus, die nur auf den Kanarischen Inseln lebt. Der kleine Raubvogel besitzt schmale, spitz zulaufende Flügel, die ihm eine größere Wendigkeit bei seinen Flugbewegungen ermöglichen.

Obwohl es eine Spezies ist, die man in einer Vielzahl von Umgebungen wie Schluchten, Stadtgebieten und Dörfern sehen kann, hat der Falke eine Vorliebe für ländliche und landwirtschaftliche Räume. Seine Ernährung ist sehr vielfältig.

Zu seinen Beutetieren gehören Mäuse, Eidechsen, Skinke, Geckos, Insekten und andere wirbellose Tiere. Darüber hinaus ist er ein sehr territoriales Tier und bedroht andere, auch größere, Vögel, die in sein Habitat eindringen.

Die Fortpflanzungszeit beginnt zwischen Februar und März, in der die Weibchen zwischen drei und sechs Eier legen.

Die Inkubation dauert fast 30 Tage und die Küken beginnen im Alter von einem Monat zu fliegen, obwohl sie erst mit zwei Monaten selbständig werden.

Sabina canaria Es una especie de árbol endémica del Archipiélago que puede alcanzar hasta los ocho metros de altura. Posee unos troncos fuertes y gruesos, una corteza de color grisáceo y una copa de color verde oscuro. Se puede adaptar a cualquier tipo de suelo, desde el nivel del mar hasta los 1400 metros, y su período de floración se produce a finales de invierno o en primavera. Al ser una especie monoica (sus flores pueden ser de sexo masculino o femenino), puede florecer en el extremo de sus ramas si es masculino o en las axilas si es femenino. Su leña fue muy aprovechada por los guanches, pues es un arbóreo con gran robustez y calidad en su madera. La forma tan particular y distintiva que adoptan las sabinas se debe a los largos períodos en los que están sometidas a la fuerza del viento.

Als einhäusige Art können seine Blüten männlich oder weiblich sein. Die Blüten am Ende der Äste sind männlich, die der Zweigachseln weiblich. Der sehr robuste Baum besitzt ein erstklassiges Holz, das sich hervorragend als Brennholz eignet und in großem Maße von den Ureinwohnern, den Guanchen genutzt wurde. Die ganz besonderen, unverwechselbaren Wuchsformen des Kanarischen Wacholders sind auf die langen Perioden zurückzuführen, in denen die Bäume der Kraft des Windes ausgesetzt waren.

Esta sencilla ruta nos acercará a las lavas de una de las erupciones históricas ocurridas en la isla de Tenerife, la del volcán Pico Viejo o Chahorra, en el año 1798. Y a descubrir la singular y variada geología de la caldera de Las Cañadas del Teide, dominada por el impresionante edificio volcánico Teide-Pico Viejo, que, a modo de faro, nos guiará durante toda la ruta. El corto recorrido se inicia en el mirador de Chío, desde el cual seguiremos el trazado del itinerario número 18 de la red de senderos del Parque Nacional del Teide. A lo largo del recorrido, iremos observando los negros malpaíses de esta erupción reciente, que contrasta con las lavas ocres de erupciones más antiguas, y la casi interminable pared del anfiteatro de Las Cañadas, que alberga una rica y exclusiva flora, como el tajinaste rojo, o hitos geológicos como los roques de El Cedro y Los Almendros.

This easy walk gives us a glimpse of the lava generated by a historic eruption on Tenerife: the eruption of the Pico Viejo or Chahorra volcano in 1798.

It also enables us to discover the distinctive and diverse geology of the Las Cañadas del Teide cirque, which is dominated by the imposing Teide-Pico Viejo volcanic edifice that guides us like a lighthouse throughout the route. The short walk begins at the Chío viewpoint, from where we follow the route of No. 18 of the network of Teide National Park trails. Along the way, we will see the black volcanic badlands formed by the recent eruption (which offer a marked contrast to the red-ochre lava of older eruptions) and the near-endless wall of the Las Cañadas amphitheatre, home to a rich and exclusive plant life that includes the red bugloss and to geological landmarks such as the El Cedro and Los Almendros lava necks.

Vom Aussichtspunkt von Chío zum Besucherzentrum Juan Évora Diese einfache Route führt uns zu den Lavaströmen eines der historischen Ausbrüche der Insel Teneriffa, dem des Vulkans Pico Viejo, oder auch Chahorra genannt, der sich im Jahr 1798 ereignete. Wir entdecken auf unserer Wanderung die einzigartige, abwechslungsreiche Geologie der Caldera der Las Cañadas del Teide, über der das majestätische Vulkangebäude des Teide-Pico Viejo thront, das uns einem Leuchtturm gleich durch die gesamte Route führen wird. Die kurze Wanderstrecke beginnt am Aussichtspunkt von Chío, von wo aus wir der Route Nr. 18 des Wegenetzes des TeideNationalparks folgen. Entlang der Strecke beobachten wir sowohl die schwarzen Lavamassen dieser jungen Eruption, die im Kontrast zu den ockerfarbenen Lavaströmen der älteren Ausbrüche stehen, als auch die fast endlosen steilen Felsenwände des Amphitheaters der Caldera der Las Cañadas. Una de las imágenes más difundidas de Tenerife, los impresionantes acantilados de Los Gigantes, en el suroeste de Santiago del Teide, esconde una pequeña cala que bien merece una escapada. Aunque solo sea un rato a la espera de coger alguno de los barcos de excursiones del anexo puerto deportivo, este rincón de fina arena, mar casi todo el año en calma y vistas inolvidables a los pies de la majestuosa piedra no deja indiferente. Su cercanía al muelle y a una amplia oferta de restaurantes y apartamentos, sus diversos servicios, su condición de cala familiar, el sol casi garantizado en cualquier estación y los agradables baños que suele regalar son demasiados motivos como para obviar la visita. Además, con bajamar los paseos hacia las moles geológicas que lo marcan todo aumentan los atractivos, aunque siempre extremando el cuidado ante posibles derrumbes y cumpliendo la señalética colocada.

A little offshoot of sleeping giants One of the most familiar pictures of Tenerife - the stunning Los Gigantes cliffs in southwest Santiago del Teide hides a small beach that is well worth a visit. Even a fleeting stop, as you wait for a pleasure boat from the neighbouring marina, this spot offering fine sand, year-round calm waters and unforgettable views from the foot of the majestic cliff-faces, leaves no-one indifferent. The nearby harbour, wide selection of restaurants and apartments, range of amenities, family-friendly beach with guaranteed sun at all times of the year, and refreshing swims are more than sufficient reason to visit. The beach’s attraction is increased further at low tide when you can walk to the rock formations that give it its character, although you should take great care to avoid potential rock falls and observe the signs fully.

Pata asada. Otro de los buques insignia de la cocina canaria. No hay bar o tasca que se precie que prescinda de este sabroso loncheado, formidable en bocadillo o emplatado con su clásico y sabio aderezo. Este espectáculo culinario inigualable, que se obtiene del cochino, tiene tantos adeptos que en algunos establecimientos pueden gastar hasta diez piezas al día.

Papaya. Es una fuente de papaína, enzima que pertenece a una familia de proteínas que incluye endopeptidasas, y de otros elementos favorecedores de los procesos digestivos. En las Islas son de consumo apreciado y de uso cotidiano en forma de zumos, batidos, postres, ensaladas y mermeladas.

Gamba canaria. Estos crustáceos de aguas profundas con posibilidades gastronómicas constatadas propician un amplio recetario. La ligera cantidad de azúcares (carbohidratos) que contienen estos mariscos explica el dulzor y untuosidad de su carne y hace que sean candidatos ideales para especialidades japonesas.

Roast leg of pork. This is another flagship dish in Canarian cuisine and no self-respecting bar or tavern would leave these tasty pork slices, ideal in a crusty baguette sandwich or served seasoned on a plate, off the menu. This wonderful dish with few rivals is so popular that some establishments can get through as many as ten legs of pork in a single day.

Canarian prawns. These deep-water crustaceans have countless proven culinary possibilities and can be used in many recipes. The small amount of sugar (carbohydrates) contained in the shellfish accounts for the sweetness and smoothness of their meat and makes them ideal for use in Japanese specialities.

Papaya. This fruit is a source of papain, an enzyme belonging to the family of proteins that includes endopeptidases and other elements that help with digestion.

Papayas are highly appreciated in the Islands and are used on a daily basis to make juices, milkshakes, deserts, salads and jam.

Gebratener Schinken. Ein weiteres Flaggschiff der kanarischen Küche. Keine Bar oder Taverne, die etwas aus sich hält, verzichtet darauf, ihren Gästen den schmackhaften Bratschinken als belegtes Brötchen oder Tapa mit ihrem klassischen Dressing anzubieten. Dieser einzigartige Gaumenschmaus aus Schweineschinken hat derart viele Anhänger, dass es manche Insellokale gibt, in denen an einem einzigen Tag bis zu zehn Schinken verzehrt werden.

Kanarische Garnele.

Diese Tiefsee-Krebstiere haben bewiesenermaßen große gastronomische Möglichkeiten inne und werden deshalb zur Zubereitung Pixabay einer Vielzahl von Gerichten verwendet. Ihrem geringen Gehalt an Zucker (Kohlenhydrate) verdanken sie den etwas süßlichen Geschmack und das zarte Fleisch. Aus diesem Grund sind sie so auch ideale Zutaten für Spezialitäten der japanischen Küche.

Papaya. Die Frucht ist eine wahre Papain-Quelle - ein Enzym, das zur Familie der Proteine gehörend Endopeptidasen und andere Elemente enthält, die den Verdauungsprozess begünstigen. Auf den Kanarischen Inseln ist die Papaya sehr beliebt und wird gewöhnlich in Form von Säften, Shakes, Desserts, Salaten und Marmeladen verzehrt.

Ropa vieja Ropa vieja (‘Old Clothes’) stew

Con esta receta podrás aprovechar al máximo las sobras del puchero o las de un caldo. Para empezar, desmenuzamos la carne y el pollo. Una vez hecho, en una sartén con una capa de aceite de oliva elaboramos el sofrito con la cebolla, los ajos, el pimiento y el tomate frito.

A continuación, añadimos el pimentón dulce, la carne y el pollo y rehogamos.

Después, incorporamos los garbanzos, las hojas de laurel y una pizca de sal y vertemos el caldo o el agua. Dejamos que reduzca y listo. Una receta sencilla y deliciosa.

Zubereitung

With this recipe you can make best use of leftovers from a ‘puchero’ stew or a broth. First, shred the chicken or meat into small pieces. Then prepare the base mixture of onion, garlic, pepper and tomato sauce by frying them gently in a little olive oil in a pan. Add the sweet paprika, meat and chicken and sautée further. Finally, add the chickpeas, bay leaves and a pinch of salt and pour in the stock or water. Simmer to reduce and the dish is ready to serve. A simple and delicious recipe.

Alien: Covenant (2017)

El camino: Una película de Breaking Bad (2019) Tras el éxito que cosechó la aclamada serie Breaking Bad, El camino atiende a una necesidad del creador original de la serie para dar algunas respuestas sobre uno de los personajes principales: Jesse Pinkman. La acción se enmarca justo en el momento en el que acabó la serie y explora la lucha de Pinkman por obtener finalmente su libertad y tener una nueva vida. Es un filme que no aporta mayor profundidad al personaje que en las cincos temporadas de Breaking Bad, pero si te gustó la obra original es un universo que merece la pena revisitar.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019) Following the success of the acclaimed series Breaking Bad, El camino satisfies the urge of the original creator of the series to provide some answers concerning one of the main characters: Jesse Pinkman. The action begins just as the series ends and focuses on Pinkman’s fight to be released to start a new life. The films adds relatively little by way of character development after the five seasons of Breaking Bad but if you liked the original this is a world worth revisiting.

La saga Alien nunca volverá a ser lo que fueron Alien: el octavo pasajero y Aliens: el regreso, tanto en lo relativo a tensión como a suspense e innovación dentro del género. Sin embargo, Alien: Covenant es una película que quizás esté dirigida para los que desean ir un paso más allá en el universo creado por Ridley Scott, pues el filme indaga sobre los orígenes del xenomorfo y por qué fueron creadas estas criaturas. Pese a ello, se puede ver como una película de acción y suspense de forma independiente a la franquicia Alien, por lo que vale tanto para los fans como para quienes simplemente quieren pasar un rato entretenidos.

El irlandés (2019) Es un filme de puro cine de gánsteres que trata, entre muchos temas, el paso del tiempo y el envejecimiento, la amistad y la pérdida de humanidad. La historia se centra en la figura de Frank Sheeran, más conocido como el irlandés, un asesino a sueldo de la mafia al que se le atribuyen más de 25 asesinatos. Sus tres horas y media de metraje son el resultado de la simbiosis audiovisual entre Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro y Al Pacino y es una película muy recomendable para los amantes del género.

Alien: Covenant (2017)

The Irishman (2019) This out and out gangster film deals with, among other themes, the passing of time, growing old, friendship and the loss of humanity.

The story centres on Frank Sheeran, better known as The Irishman, a paid Mafia assassin credited with over 25 killings. The three and a half hours of action are the product of the audiovisual symbiosis between Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, and the film is highly recommended to fans of the genre.

The Alien saga will never again reach the heights of Alien: the eighth passenger and Aliens in terms of either suspense or innovation.

However, Alien: Covenant is a film probably aimed at those who want to take one step further into the universe created by Ridley Scott, given that it explores the origins of the xenomorph and the reasons why such creatures were created. It can still be viewed as an action and suspense film independent of the Alien franchise and suitable for franchise fans as well as those who simply want some entertainment.

Es una de las películas de animación japonesa con mejor crítica de la historia y uno de los buques insignia de Studio Ghibli. Trata sobre una joven llamada Chihiro que se adentra con sus padres en un lugar desconocido que parece ser un parque temático, pero pronto descubrirá que todo es más de lo que parece. Como no podría ser de otra forma en una creación de Ghibli, los temas que trata la película versan sobre los valores por los que se rige una sociedad, diferencias generacionales y la cuestión ambiental frente al desarrollo de las metrópolis, entre muchos otros. En conclusión, El viaje de Chihiro es una de las películas de animación más representativas del presente siglo. No puedes perdértela.

One of the most critically-acclaimed animated Japanese films of all time and a flagship Studio Ghibli product, this film is about a young girl called Chihiro who ventures with her parents into what appears to be an abandoned amusement park but soon turns out to be something very different. As ever with Ghibli creations, the themes of the film focus, among others, on the values governing society, generational differences, and the issue of the environment versus urban development. In short, Spirited Away is one of the iconic animated films of the current century. Not to be missed.

Es una serie histórica que narra las aventuras de Ragnar Lothbrok, una de las personalidades más conocidas entre el pueblo vikingo. Sus seis temporadas son muy diversas, pues, aunque la serie se centra principalmente en Ragnar, también desarrolla mucho a sus personajes secundarios, presentándolos con sus propias creencias, contradicciones y conflictos internos. A pesar de que se trata de un acercamiento histórico con bastantes licencias, es una serie muy recomendable para los amantes de la mitología nórdica, la aventura y la historia.

Ambientada en 1715, edad de oro de los piratas, es uno de los pocos productos audiovisuales que tratan la piratería sin ningún tipo de romanticismo, con una crueldad sin paliativos sobre los marineros de la época, así como sobre el funcionamiento democrático dentro de un barco y las ambiciones de los piratas. La trama es consistente a lo largo de sus cuatro temporadas y la construcción de personajes está hecha de tal manera que nunca sabrás si fiarte del todo de las intenciones de cada uno.

Es una serie de tres capítulos largos de aproximadamente hora y media de duración que se centra en una de las figuras más versionadas del cine: Drácula. No aporta nada nuevo al relato del conocido vampiro, pero sí que destaca la actuación de su intérprete, Claes Bang, quien dota al personaje de carisma e ingenio frente a otras adaptaciones. Está enfocada para un público adulto y para los amantes del humor grotesco y visceral.

Black Sails (2014-2017)

This series, consisting of three long episodes of approximately one and a half hours each, centres on one of cinema’s most portrayed characters: Dracula. It adds nothing new to the story of the famous vampire but is notable for the performance of the lead actor, Claes Bang, who brings charisma and ingenuity to the title character which were lacking in other adaptations. The series is aimed at adults and fans of grotesque and visceral humour.

Vikings (2013-2020) This historical series narrates the adventures of legendary Norse hero Ragnar Lothbrok.

The six seasons are very different and, although the series focuses primarily on Ragnar, it also develops many secondary characters, portraying them with their beliefs, contradictions and internal conflicts.

Despite taking some liberties in terms of historical accuracy, the series is recommended to fans of Norse mythology, adventure and history.

Set in 1715, the golden age of pirates, this is one of few TV series or films to deal with piracy without any hint of romanticism but rather is hard-hitting and cruel in its treatment of the sailors of the day, the democratic functioning of ships, and pirate ambitions. The plot is coherent across the four seasons and the characters are constructed in such a way that you are never sure if you can trust the intentions of each.

Basada en la creación fantástica de Terry Brooks, cuenta la historia de un futuro postapocalíptico en el que conviven en la Tierra diferentes razas como elfos, humanos y magos, entre otras muchas. La historia se centra en Wil Ohmsford, un semielfo cuya sangre pertenece a la antigua familia Shannara, destinados a salvar las Cuatro Tierras de los demonios. Se trata de una serie con pocas pretensiones más allá del mero entretenimiento, pues aunque su guion no es impecable, cumple su función de mantener el suspense y querer, tras cada capítulo, ver el siguiente para saber más.

Based on the fantasy drama by Terry Brooks, this series outlines a post-apocalyptic future in which different races such as elves, humans and warlocks live side by side on earth. The story focuses on Wil Ohmsford, a half-elf/half-human with blood ties to the ancient Shannara family who are destined to save the Four Lands from the demons. The series has few ambitions beyond pure entertainment and, although not perfect, the storyline manages to maintain the suspense and make viewers want to see what the next chapter brings.

No musical or folk group or any gathering of friends for a celebration would be complete without a sing-song featuring these verses in honour of the spiritual patron of Catholics in the Canary Islands: the Virgin of Candelaria, who sits on the high altar of the Marian basilica in the south Tenerife town of the same name.

Ever since the year 1400, when - according to the chronicles - the Virgin appeared to two ‘guanches’ (the primitive inhabitants of Tenerife), worship of the “Black Madonna”, as she is popularly known, has continued to grow particularly in the months of February and August, when religious ceremonies and popular fiestas are held in her honour.

Desde aquel lejano año de 1400 en que, según las crónicas, sucedió la aparición de la Señora a dos guanches (primitivos pobladores de Tenerife) hasta hoy, la devoción a la “Virgen morenita”, como se la conoce popularmente, crece especialmente en los meses de febrero y agosto, por las ceremonias religiosas y festejos populares que se celebran en su honor.

Es gibt keine Gesangs- oder Folkloregruppe oder Treffen mit Freunden auf einem Fest, auf dem, wenn Gesänge angestimmt werden, nicht dieses Lied gesungen werden würde. Es ist der Schutzpatronin der Kanarischen Inseln Unserer Lieben Frau der Gottesmutter von Candelaria gewidmet, die ihren Thron über dem Hochaltar in der Basilika in der gleichnamigen Stadt Südteneriffas hat. Laut geschichtlicher Chroniken erschien die Jungfrau Maria im Jahr 1400 zwei Guanchen (Ureinwohner Teneriffas) und seit jenem fernen Jahr bis heute kommt die Verehrung der im Volksmund „schwarze Jungfrau“ genannten Mutter Gottes besonders in den Monaten Februar und August zum Ausdruck, wenn ihr zu Ehren zahlreiche religiöse Zeremonien und Volksfeste gefeiert werden.

Vilaflor es un diamante en bruto, pues hablar de este municipio es hacerlo de naturaleza, de vida y de un remanso de paz para el que quiera venir y descansar de la vida cotidiana y estresante que a veces supone el día a día. Este es un lugar en el que se puede hacer deporte de todo tipo como ciclismo, senderismo, atletismo o cualquier otro de montaña.

La gastronomía es muy exquisita y, a su vez, la calidad que desprenden los vinos convierte a Vilaflor en una de las regiones más ricas en vid de toda la Isla; de hecho, los viñedos chasneros son de los más premiados y reconocidos.

Aquí la naturaleza y el cariño de los residentes es lo que prima, pues todos son muy atentos con los turistas y es lo que hace también que el turismo sea diferente, uno que distingue a Vilaflor de los municipios colindantes y por el que, en definitiva, merece la pena acercarse y disfrutar de este paraíso que, sin contar con playa, demuestra que es todo un portento de la naturaleza.
