Dear Readers, I wish you all a very happy Akshaya Tritiya, Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti.

April has more in store. It is the month when few states like Kerala, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Bengal celebrate New Year.

Like always, we begin this edition with a glimpse of Akshaya Tritiya and its significance. Akshaya Tritiya is observed on the third lunar day in the bright half of the month of Vaishaka. In 2020, Tritiya begins at 11.53 am on April 25, 2020 and extends till 13.23 on April 26. Akshaya Tritiya is that day of the year where all the 6 groups of energies in the world 2

coincide and their amplitude is almost NIL. It is one of the most favourable day to carry out as many auspicious events as possible.

In the cover story of this edition, Barry Rosen dwells on the secret powers of the 11th house.

Akshaya Tritiya : Welcoming Prosperity | Raman Suprajarama

What is Akshaya Tritiya?

Akshaya means unperishable, un-decaying and eternal. Tritiya means third lunar day.

When is Akshaya Tritiya celebrated?

Akshaya Tritiya is observed on the third lunar day in bright half of the month of Vaishaka. In 2020, Tritiya begins at 11.53 am on April 25, 2020 and extends till 13.23 on April 26.

What is the Science behind Akshaya Tritiya?

Shukla Tritiya or the third lunar day during waxing moon is that period of time when the difference between the Sun and the Moon is anywhere between 24 degrees and 36 degrees. In their orbits, when the Moon is ahead of the Sun by 24 degrees and less than 36 degrees, certain energies in the world get activated naturally. These energies are kinetic by nature.

We all know that the world is always in motion - motion of the living organisms, non-living organisms, earth, solar system, galaxy and the universe. Each motion results in an energy wave and there will be billions and billions of such energy waves getting produced. Largely, we classify these energies into 6 groups based on the energy frequency. The energy groups because of their varying frequencies intersect with each other. However, on every tritiya, these energies align with each other in such a manner that their amplitudes will coincide with one another. This powerful phenomenon occurs every month, and naturally we have 12 such incidents in a year.

However, there are two tritiyas in a year where the amplitudes of the energies that coincide with each other is either at minimum or at maximum. During the tritiya that occurs in the month of Vaishaka, the amplitude is at minimum. And during the tritya that occurs in the month of Karthika, the energies are at the maximum.

Essentially, Akshaya Tritiya is that day of the year where the all the 6 groups of energies in the world coincide and their amplitude is almost NIL. This is a cosmic reset of kinetic energies and commonly referred to as Punarpravarthanam (Samskritam – पुनर्प्रवर्तनं).

During this reset, there is a natural opening for living organisms to hop on to a very positive wave. If one hops on to this wave, the wave itself will naturally push him/her in the desired path, and our efforts will be minimum. This is one of nature’s best gifts and our Vedic saints’ greatest discovery. If any activity is done during this time interval, there is a natural push that takes place to reach our goal with minimum or no effort.

Early Days Sri Anjaneyalu was born into a Smartha family bearing the name “Tangirala”, of Apasthamba Sutra, Krishna Yajur Sakha, in Alugumallepadu village in Palnadu area of Guntur,Andhra Pradesh on the banks of river Naguleru. He was born onChaitra Shukla Shasti of the year Khara (the sixth day of the bright fortnight in the month of

Chaitra)to Sri Venkateshwara Avadhani and mother Smt. Ananthalakshmamma. The young boy evinced signs of keen devotion towards the Higher Energies in His childhood.

His Brahmopadesha was performed when he was seven years of age. Sri Anjaneyalu was regular in the performance of the prescribed karmas of Sandhyavandanam three times a day, and Agnikaryam, twice a day. The young lad, in addition to schooling, spent time to study Sanskrit and also started taking Vedic lessons from his father, who himself was a Vedic scholar.

Influence of the Guru In the year 1966, Sri Anjaneyalu approached the 35thJagadguru of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji at the age of 15, seeking Jagadguru’s blessings and tutelage in the sastras. The Jagadguru accepted the disciple and the lessons in the Tarka sastras commenced. The Acharya also kept a close watch over the progress of his ward.

The 11th house is the most treasured of the houses. It is said that all planets do well herein and fulfill our desires. It is connected to gains from work as it is 2nd from the 10th house. Alas, it is a much more complicated house than most astrologers will admit as it is 6th from the 6th house and can cause health problems and it is connected to groups, associations and our karma with them, which is not always pleasant.

In Part 1 of this article, we will discuss the much over-looked connection of the 11th house to groups, society and community and in Part 2, we will discuss what the 11th house reveals about one’s income and the ability to fulfill desires.

PART1: EXPRESSING OUR TALENTS IN THE WORLD #1: The 11th house is the house of friends and associations

Barry Rosen has been practicing Vedic astrology since 1987. He has visited and studied in India on 4 occasions and has spoken numerous times at the American Council of Vedic Astrology Conferences in Sedona, AZ since 1999 and also the British Association of Vedic Astrologers in London since 2006. He has been involved in Vedic culture since 1973 and is a long-time meditation and yoga teacher and a published poet.

It is the playground where we venture out into society and sometimes a place where we want to change the world. It is connected with the natural 11th sign of the zodiac Aquarius, where social action seeks to move out of the ambitious 10th house and move into the world to effect change for the betterment of society.

For those who work with groups, it is not an easy place as our behavior becomes critical and vulnerable to the opinions of others and of how one is seen. Creativity of the 5th house is tested here as we express who we are and have society judge it. the 11th house is connected to community and how we bond together with others to create something bigger and support the collective.

#2: The 11th house is about our highest ambitions for the world, including wanting to make a difference in society It reflects our ability to take the talents, status and ambitions of the 10th house and move it out into our community and effect change. If we have some success in our life, we naturally want to help those around us. The great philanthropists like Andrew Carnegie and Alfred Nobel did this. At some point, we have to realize that if we have a lot of money and we do not share it with others, then we are missing the point.

The 11th house forces us into the world to express our gifts for the benefit of mankind. My spiritual teacher was fond of saying that if we are given money in our life, it is meant to be shared with your community and the world, not for hoarding.

11th house is connected to community and how we bond together with others to create something bigger and support the collective.

#3: The 11th house is the placement of dreams and fulfillment of desires If it is connected to Jupiter or 10

Pisces, a strong Sun or with Leo, it can be filled with great hope, optimism, faith, ambition, and triumph. Transits through the 11th house bring fulfillment of desires and joy - this is why it is so cherished.

#4: The 11th house is not a picnic place The 11 house is not a picnic place, as many astrologers might describe it as it is connected to the natural complex 11th zodiacal sign of Aquarius which in Vedic astrology is co-owned by Rahu and Saturn and in Western astrology has a connection to Uranus. Rahu by nature creates deep desires which are often illusive like chasing a carrot on a stick and Saturn brings deep karmic surprises Aquarius anywhere in the chart is often connected to deep karmic suffering. th

#5: The 11th house can bring challenges and health issues There is a hidden quality to the 11th house because it is 6th from the 6th in that it can bring challenges and health issues.

These may arise out of complex seething anger and failed interactions with groups. When the group disapproves, we can be cast into a deep funk like an oddball Rahu character judged by the Saturnian community crowd and hence there are some underlying time-bombs hidden in the 11th house in our ability to express our talents in society. If judged poorly we can be sent down a black hole.

Social rejection can bring deep suffering of our creativity from the 5th house sitting opposite the 11th house. I remember Saturn

going through my 11th house a few years back and doing some pioneering humanitarian outreach in my community only to have the snipers and vultures come in and tear my achievement down out of jealousy. There are hidden perils in this house.

The 11th house is not always the picnic that is often painted to be.

#6: There can be â&#x20AC;&#x153;Weltsmertzâ&#x20AC;? here or suffering for the pain of the world.

We may seek to benefit and help society as we become more sensitive here, but local politics may drag us down to earth and create suffering in the end that may breakout into illness. I remember that I became very sick after years of politics in my spiritual organization. The 11th house is not always the picnic that is often painted to be.

We may suffer in this house, but such anguish increases our sensitivity to the distresses of others. Experiences here inspire us to dream of a better world. We are put to the test in the 11th house whether we can take our ambitions of the 10th house and realize our dreams for a better society or be cast out and rejected. We are deeply tested here in whether we can change socially or be taken down by competitive political wolves who are more interested in their selfglorification than really helping society.

Saturn or the outer planets Neptune, Uranus or Rahu may trigger a longer stint at changing society and getting into the political ring or making a social difference.

Jupiter will support community growth and progressive change, but Saturn will create a long arduous journey of hard work and battling to create a better world. Neptune will give us utopian visions and ideals that may not be possible - Uranus and Rahu will give more a revolutionary tendency and grassroots outreach to inspire us to create a new society against one that is not working. In a sense, one of the secrets of the 11th house and its natural connection to Rahu through Aquarius is to change the stale and worn-out elements of society. The cure for Coronavirus will not be found immediately thanks to Jupiter’s anger. While the spread might curtail, the cure is a long way to go. Evil Jupiter is not going to allow this to happen easily. He continues to be angry. While Jupiter has taken its vengeance with Ketu, the planet is not yet satiated. He next follows Saturn into his own house, Capricorn. Jupiter is moving at a fast pace and he becomes more and more evil. Now, it is his time for Jupiter to ruin the house of Saturn. In this given male chart, Guru is the Jiva Karaka placed in Simha Rashi and Shukra, the Karaka for Patni is placed in 11th house from Guru and thus marriage is promised at a proper age.

Shukra is placed in Mithuna Rashi along with Surya and Ketu. These 3 planets are placed in a Rashi whose lord Budha is 2nd to them in Karkataka Rashi which means Budha influences the planets in Mithuna Rashi.

Now Budha influences the Jiva Karaka Guru as he is placed in 2nd to Budha. Thus Guru, Budha, Surya, Shukra, and Ketu are involved. Now as Budha is placed alone in Karkataka Rashi, he indicates a female. Now Budha is also the Karaka for education followed by Shukra, the Karaka for higher education or as we say particularly leads to post-graduation.

Now the Karaka for education, Budha is in Karkataka Rashi whose Lord Chandra is in Mesha Rashi along with Kuja who is the lord of Mesha Rashi itself. Chandra is the Karaka for movement and Kuja for machinery. So, this native has moved to a place where a lot of machinery is being manufactured and a government ruled city (New Delhi) and learned computer related science. As it started with a slow acquaintance, then it got converted into a love affair. As Shukra is in 14 degrees longitude in Mithuna Rashi which is very strong, the affair is so deep and both of them decided to marry.

The parents of the boy tried all methods to cancel this affair but the boy was firm (Surya indicates firmness) as the planet indicating friendship, Budha’s house is occupied by Surya + Shukra which is placed strongly in Mithuna Rashi, the boy was very firm in marrying the girl.

Finally, the engagement took place on 8th April 2018. The marriage was fixed on the 16th of January 2019. I was not involved in deciding the date.

Ketu is a slow-moving shadowy planet and he influences slowly Surya and Shukra there in Mithuna Rashi.

Now, let me try to explain about fixing of marriage. The parents of the boy after consulting with the parents of the girl decided the above date of marriage. As we know that in a male chart, Shukra indicates Patni Karaka and is placed in Mithuna Rashi, a dwiswabhava Rashi. So as per my knowledge, the marriage will take place twice i.e. one as per Hindu tradition and 2nd as per Christian tradition. As per Naadi Astrology, Shani decides 1st by aspecting or through transit over natal Shukra. Here Shani is transiting over Dhanu Rashi.

At the time of engagement, Shani was transiting over Dhanu Rashi and retrograde Guru was transiting over Tula Rashi aspecting Shukra + Ketu indicating marriage will take place. At this time transit Ketu was in Makara Rashi. But recently I posted an article about marriage and Ketu’s importance in marital knots. So, on 16th of January, transit Shani will be in Dhanu Rashi along with Guru also there. If we look at the longitudes, Guru will just cross the longitude of natal Shukra and Shani is about to enter Makara Rashi. Now the important planet for wedlock is transit Ketu who will also be in Dhanu at a longitude of 13 degrees (Its aspect just crossing from natal Shukra). So, this confirms the marriage will take place on the 16th of January 2020 as promised by transit Shani + Guru + Ketu and the marriage took place on 16th January 2020 at Gwalior.

Example Chart-2: A case of extramarital affair for the male Here is another chart of love marriage with an extramarital affair.

As per Naadi Astrology, Guru is Jiva Karaka, Shukra is Patni Karaka, Budha/Chandra becomes lover depending on situations.

Shukra is always 1st wife.

Now let me illustrate a chart where a male native marries his lover and then he starts another extramarital love affair. This seems to be somewhat absurd but in some cases, this happens.

Guru, the Jiva Karaka in northern direction and Budha are in southern direction, so both aspect each other. This means the native starts a love affair with a female native for some time. But the sign dispositor of Budha is Shukra who is in the next house of Mithuna Rashi along with Karma Karaka Shani.

In the chart, Guru, the Jiva Karaka is in Meena Rashi/Pisces sign and Shukra with Shani in 4th house (Kendra) in Mithuna Rashi. Here both Karma Karaka Shani and Patni Karaka Shukra are together in Mithuna Rashi indicating he will have 2 wives.

The sign dispositor of both Shukra and Shani is Budha who is in Vrishabha Rashi/Taurus sign along with Ketu. Now let us see how the Karma Karaka Shani’s play in this life. Look at the longitude of Shukra which is Mithuna 2 Degrees 35’ and Budha in Vrishabha 9 Degrees 45’ and Ketu in Vrishabha 8 Degrees 26’.

So, Karma Karaka Shani says this is your past life Karma to get this female native to marry and the Parivartana takes place between Budha and Shukra. Now Shukra will be in direct aspect with Jiva Karaka Guru, so the native marries this female native. Now look at the longitude of Shukra who came to his own house due to Parivarthana and it is 2 Degrees 35’. But there is already Ketu in 8 Degrees 26’ which means Ketu is coming nearer to Shukra and Shukra coming nearer to Ketu. Now look at the 2nd sign from Jiva Karaka Guru which is Surya exalted at 21 Degrees 44’ in Mesha Rashi. Varahamihira, in his magnum opus Brihat Samhita, shares copious notes on details, how they need to be understood, the timing and the results of eclipses. Eclipses are considered a bad omen. History shares a lot of stories about the impact of eclipses on individual’s health, sometimes leading to death.

In this article, the author takes 6 examples of Catholic Religious Leaders (Pope) and analyzes how the Eclipses – solar and lunar - have affected their health and led to death. He also enumerates the principles that one can apply to in the future.

Panchanga for April 2020 First column gives the English dates and next to it the names of the regional months and dates. The ending moments of Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana are given in the 24 hour clock extending to 30 hours.

Of the Nityayogas, Vishkumbha, Parigha, Vyatipata, Vajra, Vyaghata, Vaidhruthi, Sula, Ganda and Atiganda are generally spurned for auspicious events and they are marked in red in the Panchanga. Vydhruti pervades from 346°40’ to 360° and Vyatipata from 213°20’ to 226°40’ of the sum of the Nirayana longitudes of the Sun and the Moon. Vydhruti and Vyatipata punyakaala are observed on the day when the yogas prevail for 1½ hours or more, when Sraddha is performed by the astute. These two belong to the shannavati -96- Sraddhas ordained for a householder. Considering the astronomical implications, the Sayana Vydhruti and Vyatipata days are also indicated in the Panchanga. The auspicious Amritayoga and Siddhayoga and inauspicious Maranayoga and Prabalarishtayoga come under Amirtaadiyoga scheme and are different from the Nityayogas.

The Karana is the half of the Tithi. They are mainly classified as Sthira - fixed or immovable and Chara or moveable. The Chara Karanas are seven in number and the Sthira are only four. The fixed ones are inauspicious. They are Sakuni, Chatushpada, Naga and Kimsatugna. The seven movable Karanas are in their order, Bava, Baalava, Kaulava, Taitila, Gara, Vanija and Vishti (or Bhadra.) Among the movable Karanas Vishti or Bhadra is considered to be of dreadful. The forbidden Karanas are marked in red for easy identification.

We have most of our religious observances pegged on to the Tithis. Pournamipooja Chandradarisana, Sankataharachaturthi Vrata, Shastivrata, Ekadasi Vrata and Pradosha are specially mentioned in the Panchanga. Pournamipooja is done in the evenings on days the full Moon is prevalent.

Chandradarisana is observed on the evening on the day when the crescent Moon appears for the first time in the west after the Amavasya. Chaturthi of the Krishnapaksha or Bahula Chaturthi of every month is known as Sankataharachaturthi. The evenings of Sukla and Krishna Trayodasi days are specially observed as Pradosha Vrata days.

Instead, they need elderly, experienced and friendly counsellors for which the Astrologer himself/herself needs to get training and upgrade himself/herself to technology.

#3: Guidance about a healthy mind and body

Here, Astrologers need to be experts in identifying the original talent that horoscope or palm indicates and counsel the young visitors accordingly.

Secondly, guide them about proper food habits that will give them the energy required to nurture the ambition along

with original talent. Astrologers should learn to counsel the youth on good food consumption for good energy based on the youth’s horoscope. Therefore, Astrologers need to have knowledge of food and planets, food and nakshatras, and food and rashis. They need to upgrade on these subjects because our youth deserve to be guided about their innate talents and how best they can use them with the right healthy habits.

#4: Encourage to inculcate hobbies Youth are subjected to information bombardment and in the process, they are absorbing a lot as input, but unfortunately, they don’t have the necessary output channels in any healthy form. All that they have absorbed as input becomes “pent-up stock” without an outlet which disturbs them leading to psychological disorders and depression. Many youths are struggling with their pent-up information energies, for which they need a healthy outlet in the form of “constructive hobby” which will help them maintain a healthy balance physically and emotionally.

Therefore, Astrologers need to firstly, understand the temperament of youth and have enough knowledge about various hobbies and activities to recommend to youth, based on their horoscope.

Of course, religious remedies that come from the horoscope are also available everywhere.

Today’s Astrologer needs to upgrade himself on the Loukika paraiharas or non-religious remedies or social remedies for the benefit of youth which will eventually help in community building and nation-building.
