President Park Geun-hye will be accompanied by 70 business leaders on her China visit on June 27, according to sources.

Business leaders such as Chung Mongkoo chairman of Hyundai Motor Group and Koo Bon-moo, chairman of LG Group will be part of the delegation*.

Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee was reported to not participate in the visit.

According to sources, the business delegation list will be finalized soon, with as many as 70 business leaders expected to participate in the delegation.

The visit will be the largest, if confirmed*, as 36 business leaders

accompanied former President Lee Myung-bak to Beijing five years ago. A total of 51 business leaders visited the United States with President Park last month.

The delegation will hold a bilateral business cooperation forum with Chinese business counterparts in Beijing on June 28.

Park’s visit is planned to be on June 27 to 30, her first summit to be held in Beijing with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

She will then travel to Xian in western China on June 29 for two-day visit.

6 million Facebook users’ contact information revealed

NSA whistleblower*, Edward Snowden, 29, has been filed for espionage* charges by the U.S. government on June 21.

The charges were filed against at the federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia on June 14, five days after Snowden was first revealed as the leaker*.

Snowden, is charged with theft of government property, unauthorized communication of classified* communications intelligence information to an unauthorized person, according to court documents.

The U.S. government has also reportedly requested Hong Kong to detain the former NSA contractor

on a provisional arrest warrant. However, Hong Kong legislators* called for mainland China to intervene in the case.

Snowden is responsible for the leak of classified NSA mass surveillance programs and classified material on a variety of top-secret NSA programs, such as U.S. telephone metadata and the PRISM surveillance program.

The classified materials were first published by the Guardian, then the Washington Post on June 5 and 6, respectively.

On June 23, Snowden left Hong Kong, seeking asylum in Moscow.

600만 명 페이스북 이용자 연락 정보 유출

According to Facebook, a bug that may reveal contact information of 6 million of its users has been discovered.

The bug was part of the Download Your Information tool, a program which lets Facebook users download data from profiles, including information extracted* from postings and chatting.

Facebook made it possible for users to link personal contacts from smartphones with their accounts, so they may be able to connect with

those already using the service.

A third-party* security researcher had detected the bug and submitted it through Facebook’s White Hat program, a program which allows for security researchers to report any security risks they may find and receive 500 dollars as a reward.

버그를 처음 발견한 것은 제삼 자 보안 연구원이었다. 그는 페이 스북 ‘화이트 해트’ 프로그램을 통해 이를 발견, 제출했다. ‘화이 트 해트’는 보안 연구원들이 보안 위험을 초래할 만한 사항을 발견 하여 보고하면 500달러를 보상으 로 주는 프로그램이다. 정보가 유출된 유저들은 페이 스북으로부터 별도의 통지를 받 게 될 것이다.

“I did not throw a single stone at the police, I did not carry out any act of vandalism, I asked for peace toward protesters, I opened the Brazilian flag and appealed to the police to stop the war.

Result? They shot me with a rubber bullet at close-range, they hit and punched and kicked me while I was on the ground.”

Last Monday, well over 200,000 protesters, peaceful in their majority, took to the streets throughout the country. It all started because of bus fare increases of 20 cents (100 won, or US$0.09) but then, after nearly a dozen city governments reduced tariffs* or canceled price hikes, the protesters’ focus changed into an outcry for quality education and healthcare, free public transportation, as well as responsible government leadership and spending. A single, concrete goal was lost but the overall demand for social change was heard loud and clear.

Job-hunters end relationships because of their pride 취업준비생 이별 이유 1위, 자존심 상해서...‘씁쓸’

취업준비생 10명 중 4명 이상이 실연을 경 험한 것으로 조사됐다. 취업포털 커리어에서 구직자 426명을 대 상으로 실시한 설문조사에 따르면 구직자 중 41.3%가 미취업 상태로 인해 애인과 이별했 다고 답했다. 이별을 먼저 통보한 쪽은 ‘애 인’이 64%로 훨씬 많았다.

Through the employment portal website ‘Career,’ 426 applicants were surveyed and found 41.3% of applicants have ended their relationships because of unemployment. The majority of those stated their partner decided first to end the relationship (64%).

Applicants who ended their relationship first because of ‘lack of self-esteem* due to unemployment’ numbered at 35.6%.

Next were 20.9% of respondents stating the financial costs of dating, while 15.4% because of ‘lack of time.’ Up to 10.6% said their own

Female youth at risk of smartphone addiction ‘카톡’하는 여학생들, 스마트폰 중독 위험률 높아

At least four out of 10 female juvenile students are at risk of smartphone addiction.

On June 17, the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) published the ‘2013 Smartphone Utilization of Korean Youth Survey.’ The survey composed of 3,000 middle and high school students nationwide from April 25 to May 13.

Of those who replied, 35.2% of youth were at risk of smartphone addiction. Potential* addicts numbered up to 27.6%, while 7.6% required professional help for their high-risk addiction.

Female youth were revealed to be at much higher risk than male students. With both potential-risk and high-risk patients, male students numbered up to 28.6%, while female students reached 42.6%. Female students tend to use chatting and social network service applications more than male students.

Considering the use of smartphone apps such as KakaoTalk and mypeople, 84.6% of female 여학생 10명 중 4명은 스마트폰 중독 위험에 노출된 것으 로 나타났다. 전체 청소년의 35.2%가 스마트폰 중독 위험군 이라는 점과 비교하면 상당히 높은 수치다. 한국청소년정책연구원은 이 같은 내용을 담은 ‘2013 한국 청소년의 스마트폰이용실태조사’를 17일 발표했다. 이 조사 는 4월 25일부터 5월 13일까지 스마트폰을 갖고 있는 전국 중고생 3000명을 대상으로 했다. 이번 조사결과 전체 응답자 의 35.2%가 스마트폰 중독 위험에 노출돼 있었다.

NYPI research fellow Lee Chang-ho said, “The overuse of chatting apps and social networks seems to be the source of addiction in female students. The gap between the number of female students and male students playing games is also becoming narrow.” He further added that “schools must strengthen media training and awareness as students’ addiction risks become too high, and restriction of smartphone use within schools is recommended*.”

A third of students (32.8%) of the survey responded that they failed to reduce their smartphone usage. Up to 43.9% say they cannot endure the restricted use of smartphones. Because of overuse, three out of 10 respondents (31.4%) say their school grades have dropped.

Apartment leases rise, highest inflation yet 아파트 전세값 고공행진, '집 사지 않고 전세로 눌러앉았더니…' 전셋값 최고 상승률, 서울 강남구 3.49% 대구 광역시 4.7%

Inflation rates* were the highest for the apartment lease market in Gangnam District, Seoul and Daegu during the first half of this year.

According to the ‘National Real Estate Trend’ research from the KB Real Estate Trust website, the inflation rate of apartment lease prices have already approached last year’s level within the first half of this year.

Seoul apartment prices increased by 2.20% compared to the end of last year, which was 2.21%. Lease prices in all

25 Seoul districts increased, the highest increase being Gangnam District at 3.49%.

“Because of the recession*, there is more demand for leasing apartments instead of purchasing a home,” a KB Bank affiliate said. “Homeowners spin between leases and monthly rent, resulting in an offbeat supply and demand pattern and destabilization of the real estate market.”

간 상승률 2.21%와 비슷한 수준이다. 서울은 25개 구 가운데 전셋값이 하락한 구는 없었다. 전셋값이 가장 많이 오른 구는 강남구(3.49%)다. 국민은행 관계자는 “부동산시장 침체로 집을 사 지 않고 전세로 눌러앉는 세입자들이 많은데다, 집 주인들이 저금리의 장기화로 전세를 월세로 돌리다 보니 전세시장 수급에 엇박자가 생겨 전세가격 불 안이 계속되고 있다”고 말했다.

CJ 그룸 이재현 회장 검찰 소환

Chairman of CJ Group, Lee Jaehyun, is accused of maintaining slush funds worth hundreds of millions of dollars through deals involving expensive art pieces and evading* taxes in the process.

He allegedly purchased artwork with the use of borrowed names of numerous CJ executives, up to 300 pieces of artwork being purchased since 2005.

Prosecutors are stepping up its efforts to prove that Lee is the actual owner of the artworks and that he borrowed the names of the company’s executives to acquire them.

Hong Song-won, head of Gallery Seomi, was summoned twice by prosecutors last week, questioned on her involvement in assisting Lee for stashing funds. Some methods

reportedly used were inflating the costs and forging papers in the purchase of the artwork.

Some of the pieces are artwork done by contemporary artists* such as Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons.

Lee is to be summoned by prosecutors on June 25 for further questioning of the allegations.

2PM members gross 1.3 billion won each this year 2PM 멤버 1인당 올해 13억원 수입

Members of the idol singing group 2PM are expected to gross* 1.3 billion won each this year.

According to a report announced by JYP Entertainment on June 21, JYP is expected to gross a total of 27.3 billion won. This figure was estimated* from the current activities of JYP members.

The report included the specific amounts that were to be handed to JYP members.

2PM members expect to receive an average of 1.29 billion won each. Meanwhile, 2AM members are to receive 492 million won each.

Wonder Girls, on the other hand, are to receive only 59 million won per member.

Singer Jung Ji-hoon, aka Rain, 31, was acquitted* of embezzlement* charges after a reinvestigation.

On June 23, the Seoul District Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that the cause of the acquittal was due to ‘insufficient evidence*.’

The accuser* Lee had stated that Jung brought ‘insurmountable* damage’ to an apparel* company which Lee had invested in by taking over 2 billion won from the company as modeling fee. Jung was freed of charges in the previous investigation in December 2010 because Lee’s charges couldn’t be proven. However, the Seoul High Prosecutor’s Office ordered a reinvestigation in September 2011.

Soccer player Jong Tae-se accused of violating the National Security Law 축구선수 정대세, 국보법 위반 혐의

On June 20, the Suwon District Public Prosecutors’ Office announced that “The People’s Rooney” Jong Tae-se of Suwon Samsung, 29, is under investigation for violating the National Security Law*.

On June 14, the Korean Internet Media Association submitted a bill of indictment* saying “Jong Tae-se violated the National Security Law by praising North Korea in overseas

broadcasts through remarks such as, ‘I look up to (former North Korean leader) Kim Jong-il’ and ‘my fatherland is North Korea.’”

Meanwhile, Jong made his appearance at the 2013 K-League All-Star Game on June 21, scoring the equalizer* for Team Classic versus* Team Challenge. The friendly game ended with a score of 3-3.

Music, beer and laughs Australian style 토니 오지 바

Nestled* away at the end of Itaewon is a little bar where you can find authentic Aussie food and décor* as well as the best darn pour of Guinness on the peninsula. Tony’s Aussie Bar is the brainchild* of Tony Le Rhodes, the once iconic Australian drummer, and a wonderful place to kick back, relax with friends and have a beer.

This small bar is home to open-mic jam sessions on Monday nights, during which patrons* crowd in until there is not a seat in the house and friends and strangers share tables to make room. With mostly expat* musicians on bass, fiddle, electric guitar and vocals, accompanied by Tony on the drums, of course,

a magical bond among friends, old and new, occurs as musicians and some the not-somusically-gifted customers belt out old rock tunes and tap feet and fingers to the beat.

To mix it up a bit, Wednesdays feature a standup comedy night and on the first and third Sunday of each month, the Seoul Artist Network opens up the stage for musicians, comedians and poets.

Tony’s is open 6 p.m. to late Monday to Friday (Tuesdays closed) and 1 p.m. to late on weekends. Open mics usually start around 9:30 p.m. See you there!

Meet Rodrigo Braune. He is a 24-year-old student from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil who is currently studying at the Korean Language Institute at Silla University in Busan before starting his masters in Film Production. Rodrigo has been in Korea for almost two years, though it was about 10 months ago that he really buckled down to learn Korean and get to, what he calls, an upper-intermediate conversation level. He enjoys hanging out in Gwangalli to relax and Seomyeon to party.

He respects and appreciates the Korean culture’s sense of community.

In classes, it depends on the day. It is way more interesting if you learn with people in the streets. That’s what motivates me to learn Korean. I want to be able to talk with Koreans on their level, using their language.

10. Snoop Dogg.

Recently changed his name to Snoop Lion, he is from Long Beach. He was found by Dr. Dre in 1992 to collaborate in “The Chronic.” Although he claims he will not rap or sing about gangster rap, he will always be recognized. Hit songs: Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang, Drop it Like it’s Hot, What’s My Name, Gin and Juice 9. The Game Originating from Compton, California, he is one of Dr. Dre’s protégés. He released his debut album in 2003 “The Documentary” and had great success over the years. He was in “G-Unit” by Dr. Dre but had a feud with 50 Cent and had left the crew.

Good thing he did since he outraps all of the crew members. Hit songs: My Life, Westside Story, Hate It or Love It, Dreams 8. Lupe Fiasco Originating from Chicago, he rose to great success in 2006 with his album, “Food and Liquor.”

He has been noticed by his candor lyrics and outstanding flow. His love towards hip hop started from the dislike of its vulgarity and misogyny.

He also has two clothing line venues and seldom designs sneakers for Reebok. Hit songs: Superstar, Daydream, Paris Tokyo, Kick Push.

7. Kanye West A producer and rapper also originating from Chicago, Kanye West was prominent as a producer in Roc-A-Fella Records. He was recognized in producing Jay-Z’s album “The Blueprint,” and later came out with five different albums, all of them going platinum. Recognized as a genius in the music industry in both rapping and producing. Hit songs: American Boy, Clique, Good Life, Love Lockdown, Heartless, Stronger, E.T., Gold Digger, Niggas in Paris.

6. Common More recognized as an actor these days, but Common has rose from the underground as a prominent rapper. His original name was Common Sense but due to another band, had changed his name to Common. He is also from Chicago, and had won several Grammies due to his smooth style of rap and lyrics. Hit songs: The People, Go, Faithful, The Corner, I Used to Love H.E.R. 4. Mos Def & Talib Kweli As a duo called “BlackStar,” these two have been one of the best collaborated MC’s of all time. Both from Brooklyn, they have started their collaboration from underground but rose to success to become recognized together and separately. Could not decide which I chose better so they count as fourth and fifth on my list. Hit songs: Definition, Respiration, 1990.

3. Eminem Being the only Caucasian rapper in my list, Eminem is probably one of the most successful rappers in the 2000s. He is from Detroit, a member of his group D-12, half of “Bad Meets Evil” collaborating with Royce da 5’9’’. His achievement is outstanding and probably one of the few rappers who was successful with his own movie “8 Mile.”

He had a feud with Jay-Z which became highly publicized, especially after Notorious B.I.G.’s death, claiming who is the king of hip hop in New York. He has been busy raising a daughter and supporting his mother which made him less prominent than Jay-Z but talent wise, not much behind. Hit songs: Hip Hop is Dead, Get Down, Nas Is Like, N.Y. State of Mind, One Love, One MIC. 1.Jay-Z The best rapper currently on my list. Jay-Z has been a godfather of hip hop and rap. He married another talented artist Beyonce and both have been successful in both business and music. Although Jay-Z announced to be retired once, he keeps coming up with phenomenal songs and lyrics that inspire everyone around the world. He is former CEO of Def Jam Records and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records. A True Icon of Hip Hop. Hit songs: Song Cry, IZZO, Dirt Off Your Shoulder, Hard Knock Life.

Social Explorer Network From Pareto to Long Tail 롱테일을 아시나요?

From this article, I would like to introduce positive outcomes from technological developments and discuss what those outcomes imply.

Until now, the world had been dominated by the Pareto Principle. In financial banking and business, the structure is constructed in a way that it provides services that differentiate consumers with high financial assets based on the Pareto Principle. Furthermore, the statement, '80% of the effects are coming from 20% of the causes' has been proven in politics, economics, businesses, societies and cultures which implies that the Pareto Principle has become the 'Golden Rule' in all of the causes of social phenomena.

With the expansion of the Internet, however, changes occur in the business paradigm with the

'Long Tail' Principle: 80% of the majority controls the 20% of the minority. This principle, made by Chris Anderson of the 'Wired' IT magazine, can be found in the largest American online bookstore, Amazon. Amazon (which has lower management expenditures than offline bookstores) started to create larger profits from 80% of unpopular books than from 20% of bestsellers. Other than Amazon, we can see the '사소한 다수의 실리는 힘(제 목)' on eBay, a connector of customers and small and medium-sized businesses; in Google, a huge profit-maker from non-mainstream advertisers; and in Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia that showed the amateur of the majority can outweigh the experts of the minority.

Why you have to go to military 군대는 왜 가야 하는가?

The people who have just graduated from the high school and entered university encounter huge difficulties shortly in a year or within two to three years. Yes, that’s right; I am talking about the military. In our society, the military issue was always a hot potato on the surface, and it never cooled off. Every year, many people try various methods, such as ruining their health or swallowing pills to avoid military service. But the people who already served in the military all know how stupid those actions are. They have to acknowledge the fact that they might be socially discriminated for not bearing such relatively brief obligations. Korean society already has a fine line between the people who served in the military and who did not. Also, society treats them with a very different manner. I have passed the Army Interpreter Exam and completed my military service of 22 months with first grade physicality.

In this backdrop, I will point out three reasons why you must go to the military. I wish many young men will realize something by reading this article.

First, we learn about the social structure within the military. As many people already know, the military is often so called a “small society.”

It is because there is a chain of command and strong hierarchical system. Regardless of the operational specialty or status, people who enter first become seniors. A person who is younger or less intelligent than you can be your senior. It may trigger very difficult situations, but you cannot complain of any injustice. We already know that the company runs under the same principles and men experience this beforehand. Somehow, this is a merit to men as women cannot experience this beforehand (they have to face it first hand).

Men learn how to respect others and to keep his temper within the military. They naturally live on their nerves when they enter the cold and harsh environment, which is different from a family’s warmness, and then they get to find another side of themselves. Before entering society, men go through a rehearsal through the military.

Second, we learn more about people in the military. When we enter into the new military environment after last meeting with familiar people, we go through a new experience as if we were an infant in the wild. By facing various people, we realize many things. The scope of the people that we face within the military is infinite.

For example, there is a person with a tattoo who was once a gang member, a person who gave up entering university and also people from Ivy League schools. But the surprising thing is that sometimes a person with a tattoo is very loyal and splendid, while a person who attended an elite school is dishonorable and selfish. In these circumstances, we start to regret our wrongdoings, where we judge the people under their appearances and what they have in the presence of a narrow viewpoint. In addition, we realize the fact that we cannot maintain close relationships with everyone; there are people we cannot get close to in any way, while there are people who are alongside of us without any conditions. So, many people rearrange their personal relationships after experiencing the military. They initiate their actions with standards of facts and personal relations, which they learn.

Third, we learn gratefulness within the military.

As a youth, we live under parental guidance with warm meals and a roof. We can solve anything when some inconvenient things emerge. In

other words, we were living without feelings of inadequacy. But at that moment of entering the military, starting from the first day of basic training, we feel gratefulness for the first time.

We get to learn how to be grateful for those minor things, such as sleep whenever you feel weary and eat whenever you feel hungry. Also, consecutive nitpickings from an instructor and senior can make you miss the scolding of your parents. During military life, we get to learn the preciousness of small things like a phone call, a nap and a 1,000 won note. It is so special within the military, the things which thought to be nothing when we always had them. Also, we learn to be grateful for the people around us. Absence of family members and friends, who were always there for me whether I was happy or sad, is huge. Like this, we familiarize ourselves through gratefulness, which we never properly understand in society until the military.

So we learn three things which are difficult for us to experience before going to the military.

We learn about society, people and gratefulness.

Young people like us can take a step forward by serving in the military to develop their fundamental habits and beliefs. Nothing is easy.

When you are in high school, university seems like it will solve everything. Also, when you are young, becoming adults seems like the answer (not at all). But we always encounter the hardships during our lifetime and we are born again after them. Like this, the military is a hardship or a crisis that all Korean men should encounter. Isn’t it better to go over the massive military wave as soon as possible rather than to scrutinize a way to avoid it? Likewise, this would also be a memory and precious time that you will never forget.

이제 막 고등학교를 졸업하고 대학교에 입학한 남자들은 짧으면 1년, 길면 2~3년 내에 엄청난 난관에 봉착한다. 그렇 다, 당신이 생각하는 그것, 바로 군대이다. 대한민국 사회에 서 군대문제는 항상 수면 위에 있는 뜨거운 감자였고 그 열기 는 아직도 식을 줄 모르고 있다. 매년, 많은 사람들이 어떻게 든 군대를 가보지 않으려고 자신의 몸을 망가뜨리거나 약을 먹는 등 여러 가지 몰상식적인 행동들을 서슴지 않는다. 하지 만, 군대를 다녀온 사람들은 그런 행위들이 얼마나 어리석은 일인지 잘 알고 있다. 잠깐의 답답함을 견디지 못해 평생 사 회 안에서 차별 받을 수 있다는 사실을 알아야 한다. 이미 한 국사회는 군필과 미필의 구분을 확실히 하고 있고 대우도 확 연히 다르다. 필자는 영어통역병 시험을 통과하고 1등급의 몸으로 1년 10개월의 군생활을 마쳤으며, 이에 군대를 가야 하는 3가지 이유를 제시하고자 한다. 부디 이 글을 읽고 건강 한 마음과 몸을 가진 청년들이 깨닫는 게 있었으면 한다. 첫째, 우리는 군대에 가서 사회를 배운다. 많이들 알고 있 겠지만 군대란 곳은 소위 “작은 사회”라고 불린다. 이는 군대 안에는 계급이 존재하고 위계질서가 잡혀있기 때문이다. 사 회에서 어떤 직업을 가지고, 어느 위치에 있다는 사실을 막론 하고 군대는 먼저 온 사람이 선임이고 늦게 온 사람이 후임이 다. 자신보다 나이가 어리거나 덜 떨어진 사람이 자신의 선임 일 수도 있고 그게 정말 힘든 생활을 야기할 수도 있지만 그 건 누구에게도 하소연할 수 없다. 우리는 회사에 입사할 때도 똑같은 룰이 적용된단 것을 알고 있으며 군대에서 이를 먼저 겪어보는 것이다. 어떻게 보면 이는 여자들은 경험할 수 없 는, 남자들만이 경험할 수 있는 이점일 수도 있다. 상하관계 가 뚜렷한 이 곳에서 남자는 자신을 낮추는 법을 배우며 참는 법을 배운다. 항상 따뜻한 가족의 품에 있다가 차가운 공간에 들어서면 자연스레 긴장을 하게 되며 그들 안에 있는 또 다른 자신을 찾게 된다. 사회에 발을 내딛기 전 남자는 군대란 곳 에서 한 차례 리허설을 치르는 것이다.

둘째, 우리는 군대에서 가서 사람을 배운다. 항상 살고 있 던 익숙해져 있던 사람들과의 조우를 끝내고 군대라는 새로 운 공간에 입문하는 순간, 우리는 마치 우물 안 개구리였던 마냥 새로운 경험을 하게 된다. 정말 다양한 사람들을 마주하 며 우리는 많은 것을 깨닫게 된다. 이 곳에서 만나는 사람들 의 범위는 무궁무진하다. 온 몸에 문신을 하고 있는 조폭 출 신, 대학을 포기한 학생들부터 미국 아이비리그 수재들까지 정말 다양하다. 하지만 신기한 건, 가끔은 문신하고 있는 사 람은 너무나 의리 있고 멋진 친구인 반면 엘리트코스를 밟은 사람은 졸렬하고 이기적인 친구일 때가 있다는 사실이다. 겉 모습, 그리고 그들이 가진 것만을 기반으로 해서 사람을 판단 하던 우리는 그런 편협했던 사고에 대한 반성을 하게 된다. 또한, 모든 사람들이 나와 가까울 순 없고, 어떻게 해도 가까 워 질 수 없는 사람이 있는 반면, 가만히 있어도 내 옆에 있어 주는 사람도 있단 사실들을 깨닫는다. 그래서, 많은 사람들 은 군대를 다녀온 뒤 자신의 주변 인간관계를 정리하는 것이 다. 자신이 배운 사실관계와 인간관계의 잣대를 들이밀며 행 동하는 것이다. 셋째, 우리는 군대에 가서 소중함을 배운다. 우리들은 어 린 시절부터 부모님 슬하에서 따뜻한 밥을 먹으며 아늑한 집 에서 살아왔다. 불편한 게 생기면 항상 해결할 수 있었고, 부 족함 없이 살아온 것이다. 하지만, 군대에 입대하는 순간, 첫 훈련소의 날을 지내면서부터 우리는 그 소중함을 처음으로 느끼게 된다. 피곤할 때 맘대로 누울 수 있고, 배고플 때 맘대 로 먹을 수 있었던, 그 사소한 것들부터 그게 얼마나 소중하 고 값진 것인지에 대한 생각이 든다. 또한, 끊임없이 나를 괴 롭히는 교관들과 선임들의 잔소리를 들으면 부모님의 잔소 리가 그렇게 그리울 때가 없을 것이다. 군대에서 생활을 하면 서, 우리는 전화 한 통, 잠 한 숨, 천원 한 장 등 소소한 것들 에 대한 첫 그리움 그리고 소중함을 느끼게 된다. 항상 우리 주변에 있었던 별 것 아닌 것 같아 아무 의미 두지 않았던 것

들이 군대 안에서는 그토록 각별할 수가 없다. 또한, 우리는 군대에서 생활을 하면서 주변 사람들에 대한 소중함을 느끼 게 된다. 내가 행복할 때 그리고 또 힘들 때 내 옆에서 내 이 야기를 들어주던 가족 그리고 친구들의 부재는 정말 크다. 그 렇게 하루 하루를 지내며 우리는 사회에서 보지 못했던 소중 함이란 단어를 익히게 된다. 이렇듯, 군대에서는 우리가 쉽게 경험하지 못하는 3가지 를 배우게 된다. 사회를 배우며, 사람을 배우고, 소중함을 배 운다. 너무나 어리기만 했던 우리들은 군대란 곳을 통해서 한 걸음 발전할 수 있는 밑거름을 다지는 것이다. 세상에 만만한 일은 없다. 고등학교 때는 대학교만 가면 모든 게 해결될 줄 알았고, 어릴 때는 어른이 되면 모든 게 끝날 줄 알았다 (전혀 아니었다). 하지만, 살아가면서 우리는 항상 고비를 맞이하 고 그를 통해 새로운 나로 거듭나게 되는 것이다. 이와 마찬 가지로, 군대도 한국에 사는 남자들이라면 누구나 겪는 고비 이며 고난이다. 이를 회피하려 머리 쓰는 시간에 한시라도 빨 리 군대라는 큰 파도를 넘어버리는 것이 훨씬 현명한 선택 아 닐까? 모든 게 그렇듯 지나고 보면 다 추억이고 평생 잊지 못 할 소중한 시간들이기 때문이다.

영어의 우리말 소리는 모두 다릅니다. 영어는 우리말과 다르게 단어 내에서도 강약·장단, 즉 ‘리듬감’이 있기 때문에 한국 말로 강약·장단까지 정확하게 표기하지 않는 한, 실제 표기된 한국말처럼 들리지 않습니다. 영어발음을 한국어로 표기하는

그래서 정확한 영어의 소리를 이해하려면 다음과 같이 영어발음 기호로 표기해야 하고 그렇게 때문 에 각 발음기호들을 정확히 이해하고 발음할 수 있어야 하는 것입니다.

것은 단어 하나씩 발음할 때는 상대방을 이해시키는 데 효과적일 수 있으나 긴 문장, 예를 들어 일상회화에서는 암기력의 한 계로 효율적이지 않을뿐더러 적용도 불가능합니다.

영어의 자·모음 소리체계를 비교해보았을 때 완전히 같은 발음은 단 하나도 없습니다. 그렇기 때문에 한국어로 표기된 영어
