Modernism Week’s signature February festival will take place February 16-26, 2023, highlighting midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in Palm Springs. For the seventeenth year, the annual 11-day festival will feature a wide array of events including the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale, tours of iconic homes in more than 23 neighborhoods (including the Signature Home Tour on both weekends), architectural walking, biking and double-decker bus tours, tours of the historic

Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, classic cars, garden tours, a vintage travel trailer exhibition, nightly parties, a 2-day vintage trailer show, nightly parties, and a special series of compelling and informative talks at the Annenberg Theater and the CAMP theater. All events are open to the public, and many events are free or low-cost Tickets are available at modernismweek.com. A portion of ticket proceeds benefit Modernism Week (a non-profit organization) and other local preservation, neighborhood and community groups.

A highlight of the winter tourism season in Palm Springs, Modernism Week was originally launched with a handful of weekend events dedicated to showcasing the city’s mid-century modern architecture during the popular Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale. With its worldwide fame as a celebrity getaway and international vacation destination, a growing interest in the architecture of Palm Springs and the city’s world-renowned mid-century modern architecture is attracting a new group of enthusiasts who have put the area on the map for cultural tourism as well as fun in the sun.

MODERNISM WEEK FEATURED HOME: THE SHAG HOUSE

The artist Shag has reimagined a cherished midcentury modern pool home in Palm Springs to create a fully immersive tour experience that will make visitors feel as though they have climbed into a life-size Shag painting. He preserved much of the original Palmer and Krisel layout of this classic Alexander design, but created an entirely new front exterior, front entry, and converted the original breezeway into a swank party lounge. “Yoasis” (named after the home’s location - Yosemite Drive and Oasis) is Grace Home Furnishings’ latest desert project and a new Modernism Week Featured Home. The project is a 1965 hip and

The home’s Hawaiian flair and other original midcentury modern features, such as the living room’s stone fireplace, were retained as the house was remodeled to reflect the designers’ signature style. The historic hillside Thomas O’Donnell Estate was designed by William Charles Tanner in the Spanish Colonial Revival style that was a precursor to midcentury modern design. This party enables attendees to explore the significant building take in its unparalleled views across the valley while enjoying Palm Springs’ signature cocktail, the martini, along with classic hors d’oeuvres, and live music.

TALKS

This year Modernism Week will offer more than 80 informative and entertaining talks, panel discussions, other presentations at various locations during the 11-day event that runs February 16-26, 2022. A distinguished array of speakers – all leaders in their fields – will share their knowledge and insights with Modernism Week audiences each day of the event. A series of engaging films will also be offered. Tickets range from $12 – $65 for talks and panels. Films range from free to $35.

• A Tale of Two Kaufmann Wives and Two Tragic Endings

Author Adele Cygelman delves into the lives of the two women who were eclipsed by their better-known husband and even better-known house, Neutra’s Desert Kaufmann House, and who both met a tragic end.

For anyone who’s interested in Mid Century Modern style and design, all of these mid-century modern architects are worth getting acquainted with. Of course, their work wasn’t limited to single-family homes; they also designed apartment buildings, office buildings, civic buildings, retail centers, museums, places of worship, and more.

DONALD WEXLER

One of the most celebrated Midcentury Modern architects, Donald Wexler designed classic buildings in the spot that became ground zero for that era — Palm Springs Wexler, who was nicknamed “the Man of Steel” for the now-treasured homes and the rest of his work. He designed the main terminal of Palm Springs International Airport with its soaring view of the mountains, the Royal Hawaiian Estates development on a Polynesian theme, and Dinah Shore’s home, recently purchased by Leonardo DiCaprio, which could be the ultimate “Mad Men” house with its floor-to-ceiling glass walls, sunken bar and massive stone fireplace. Though his work was in demand, he thought of himself as a journeyman architect. But when midcentury design was widely rediscovered, he finally received renown and the homes he designed jumped in value.

Albert Frey belonged to a generation that believed in a political role for modern architecture, that of social liberation through machine-made, egalitarian and affordable designs. His chosen materials were aluminum, glass, cables and, eventually, the very boulders and sands of the desert where he settled. In a career that spanned more than 65 years, Mr. Frey remained true to the principle that architecture should make the most of the least. His best known works he created in the Palm Springs of the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. In 1939, Frey moved to Palm Springs. He became part of the movement championed by other California modernists including John Lautner to emphasize the central place of nature in modern architecture.

E. STEWART WILLIAMS

E. Stewart Williams, an architect whose many works in Palm Springs included a home for Frank Sinatra, helped define what became known as the Desert Modern style. Williams designed many public buildings in Palm Springs, including Temple Isaiah, which won an award from the American Institute of Architecture in 1949. In the 1950’s and 60’s, he completed several commissions for local banks and designed the mountain station for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. In addition he was an extremely meticulous architect who had his hand in almost every aspect of his projects. He designed built-ins, light fixtures, mailboxes, and even light switches. Williams designed many public buildings in Palm Springs, including Temple Isaiah, which won an award from the American Institute of Architecture in 1949. In the 1950’s and 60’s, he completed several commissions for local banks and designed the mountain station for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

Cody, an Ohio-born architect who graduated from USC in 1942 and began working in Palm Springs on the Desert Inn in 1945, was also seen as someone who went his own way. He didn’t take a purist’s perspective on design, and would take client’s invitations to design whatever they want, and go as far as he possibly can. Projects such as the curvaceous St Theresa’s Church, or Googie-esque Huddle’s Spring restaurant, show him breaking out of the straight lines that often defined midcentury modernism. And, at a time when the cadre of Palm Springs architects would help each other, passing on jobs or collaborating on projects, Cody rarely worked with others. His projects ranged from residential homes and condominiums, to commercial centers and industrial complexes, to city and community master planning.

JOHN LAUTNER

Known for his residences, Lautner was also well-known for the commercial genre named for his design of Googie’s Coffee Shop in Los Angeles. Distinctive for its expansive glass walls, arresting form, and exuberant signage oriented to automobiles, Googie became a fixture in 1950s America but was regularly ridiculed by the architectural community. Lautner’s reputation suffered, despite that fact his designs were as good as ever. Following some lean years, he rose again in the 1960s with the Chemosphere House and poured-concrete houses such as the Elrod Residence Palm Springs.

William Krisel, AIA, is one of the most important figures in modern architecture since the 1950s. His influence has been far-reaching; he is one of the few architects to have succeeded in the challenge of bringing modernism to the general public. His designs have fundamentally re-defined how we live today.

ALWAYS OVERBOOKED

It shall not pass your lips.

No, That Thing You Do Not Talk About is off-limits in all conversation, a non-topic when the subject surfaces. Truly, there are just certain things that are nobody’s business and in the new novel, “All the Broken Places” by John Boyne, some secrets must last a lifetime.

She hated the idea that she would have to adjust to new neighbors.

Ninety-one-year-old Gretel Fernsby wasn’t so much bothered by new people, as she was by new noise. She hated the thought of inuring herself to new sounds, and what if the new tenants had children? That was the worst of all. Gretel never was much one for children, not her own and certainly not any living below her.

Once, there was a time when Gretel could imagine herself with many children. That was nearly eighty years ago, when she was in love with her father’s driver, Kurt. She thought about Kurt through the years – he had fallen out of favor with her father and was sent elsewhere – and she wondered if he survived the war.

Her father didn’t, nor did her younger brother but Gretel didn’t think about those things. What happened at the “other place” was not her fault.

She hadn’t known. She was innocent.

That was what she told herself as she and her mother fled to Paris. Gretel was fifteen then, and she worked hard to get rid of her German accent but not everyone was fooled by her bad French or her story. She was accosted, hated. As soon as her mother died, she sailed to Australia, where she lived with a woman who loved other women, until it became dangerous there, too. She practiced her English and moved to London where she was married, widowed, and now she had to get used to new neighbors and new sounds and new ways for old secrets to sneak into a conversation...

Okay, clear your calendar. Get “All the Broken Places” and just don’t make any plans, other than to read and read and read.

The very first impression you get of author John Boyne’s main character, Gretel, is that she’s grumpy, awful, and nasty. With the many bon mots she drops, however, the feeling passes and it’s sometimes easy to almost like her – although it’s clear that she’s done some vile things in her lifetime, things that emerge slowly as the horror of her story dawns. Then again, she professes to dislike children, but (no spoilers here!) she doesn’t, not really, and that makes her seem like someone’s sweet old grandmother. ‘Tis a conundrum.

Don’t let that fool you, though. Boyne has several Gretel-sized roadside bombs planted along the journey that is this book. Each

ka-boom will hit your heart a little harder.

This is a somewhat-sequel to “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas,” but you can read it alone. Do, and when you finish, you’ll want to immediately read it again, to savor anew. Indeed, “All the Broken Places” should not pass your fingertips.

MR. MAN COUNTS DOWN THE YEAR’S TOP 10 MALE NUDE SCENES

Hollywood took viewers to some surprisingly new-d places this year, venturing deep into the explicit in some of the year’s top pictures.

Among the most talked about was HBO’s The White Lotus. Its second season featured multiple sex scenes with British newcomer Leo Woodall, including a steamy role in the hay with his character’s gal pal Haley Lu Richardson. However, the scene that rattled the country for weeks was the one between Woodall and the man who plays his uncle in the series, Tom Hollander. It appears at #8 on the year’s Top Ten.

Theo James starred in White Lotus, and he, too, had memorable nude scenes in the series, but it is his full-frontal scenes in The Time Traveler’s Wife that lands James on Mr. Man’s Top Ten Nude list. Playing a time traveling Chicago librarian who can only time

travel while naked, James strips down an incredible eighteen times throughout the season, including an unforgettable head over heels tumble down a staircase in the buff. It is another scene in the same episode, where James crashes on the floor and exposes every inch of his chiseled body, that is the third top nude scene of the year.

HBO’s breakout hit Euphoria also managed to set the Twitterverse ablaze with multiple nude scenes. The one that makes the list features Elias Kacavas, playing a young, closeted Cal, who comes face to face with his best friend-turned gay lover Henry Eikenberry in the boys’ locker room. Their gay romance is cut tragically short, but not before viewers are treated to a stunning full frontal shot of Eikenberry.

Their passionate affair cumulates in a nearly pornographic gay sex scene that depicts both men nude while moaning and groaning with excitement.

“When a huge pop music star like Harry Styles is comfortable starring in a hardcore gay sex scene, that shows real progress in the world,” Mr. Davis continues. “We’re excited to see where Hollywood takes us next!”

THE 11TH ANNUAL QUEERTIES AWARD SHOW

Queerty, the LGBTQ+ entertainment news site, is announcing its nominees for The 11th anniversary Queerties awards, taking place February 28th in Los Angeles. The Queerties is a celebration of entertainment and pop culture moments that defined the past year in the LGBTQ+ community. It is designed to uplift and spotlight LGBTQ+ creators, tastemakers, and storytellers who are not often recognized at other award shows.

“The Queerties gives voice to the LGBTQ+ community,” Scott Gatz of Q. Digital, the parent company of Queerty, explains. “It is the only pop culture awards show where queer people vote for the talent and creatives, they feel will have the most lasting impact on the next generation of queer youth.”

Bianca Del Rio will host this year’s ceremony. “Grab your sequins, grab your feathers, grab your leather harnesses, and let’s be merry, Marys,” she says.

Nominees for The Queerties were selected by the editorial team at Queerty. Winners will be voted on by Queerty

readers from now through February 21. Categories range from the “Badass” award, honoring the top LGBTQ+ newsmakers, to “Drag Royalty,” and “Closet Door Bustdown”, an award recognizing brave notables who shook up mainstream America with their coming out stories.

Nominees in the “Bad Ass” category include Joel Kim Booster (Fire Island, Loot), Jim Parsons (Spoiler Alert), and Ryan O’Connell (Queer as Folk), among others. Willow Pill will compete against Alaska, Raja, Eureka! and more for the “Drag Royalty” crown. And what is a queer award show without at least a little shade? The 11th anniversary ceremony will also award its renowned “Girl, Bye” prize, the category that execrates the individual most scorned by the LGBTQ+ community. Nominees for 2023 include Candace Cameron Bure, Kanye West, Elon Musk and Ginni Thomas, among others.

FLAGGING IN THE DESERT RETURNS TO RUTH HARDY PARK

On Saturday, February 18th DJ Randy Bettis from New York will provide an exciting soundtrack to dance, flag, or just watch. This free event will be in Ruth Hardy Park at 700 Tamarisk Road in Palm Springs. There is an instructional class preceding the event at 11 AM and the DJ starts at noon. While the event is free, we hope you will donate what you can to our local charity. This event benefits The Transgender Health & Wellness Center. There will also be a silent auction of donated flags. The music continues until 4 PM.

The weather should be warm but not overwhelming. As always, prepare with sunscreen, and as it’s a public park, some footwear is encouraged. We will provide ice and water so bring something to sit on, pack a lunch/snack, and bring other beverages. Well-behaved furry friends are also welcome.

Desert Flagger is the local organization that sponsors the event. They have a variety of events that are listed on their webpage at www. desertflaggers.com. These include classes, weekend flagging in various parks, social events, fundraisers, and flash mobs. They can be seen every Sunday as they open t-dance at OSCAR’S.

The art of flagging is the spinning of flags rhythmically to music. Silk flags are usually dyed in vibrant, ultraviolet fluorescent colors, creating an almost hypnotic spectacle when spun rhythmically. They are made by adding curtain weights sewn onto the edges of two sides of the fabric to make it possible for flaggers to spin them through the air.

Flags are as fun to watch as they are to spin! The basic moves are easy, fun, and visually stunning. Flow Flags are easy to pick up and soft on your body when you make mistakes. Come at 11 AM for our novice class and then enjoy the afternoon. Loaner flags are available.

THE PALM SPRINGS CULTURAL CENTER’S MOVIES IN THE PARK SERIES RETURNS

Following a successful series debut last summer, the Palm Springs Cultural Center is bringing its outdoor film series, Movies in the Park, back to the Downtown Palm Springs Park for the Spring 2023 season. The season will kick off on Wednesday, March 8th with the classic musical rom-com GIGI, starring Leslie Carron and Maurice Chevalier, directed by Vincente Minnelli. Movies in the Park is a free community event made possible by the generous support of the City of Palm Springs, PS Resorts, and the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The Summer 2022 Movies in the Park series featured three of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic films as a celebration of the Forever Marilyn statue. The 2022-2023 season will continue screening classic comedies of the fifties and sixties, with beloved stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Cary Grant, and Jane Fonda, and Palm Springs icon, Marilyn Monroe.

The movies are scheduled to start at sundown, which will be around 7pm for most events and closer to 8pm later in the season. Approximate showtimes will be announced by the Cultural Center on social media ahead of each event. Attendees of these free community events are encouraged to make an evening of it by enjoying downtown shops and dining before the events.

PERSPECTIVE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Hello all you beautiful souls. Last March, I shared with you that I had tried micro-dosing mushrooms to help me through the deep depression that I had fallen into post-COVID, and the grief that I experienced when my close friend succumbed to death from heat stroke in 2022. I had great success and its effects lasted until mid-August.

I just completed another round that ended January 27, 2023 and cannot tell you how much better I feel. I have had a number of people ask me about my journey for as you know I love to Cher, LOL, Share, so please don’t hesitate to contact me!

I had a rough go of it the last quarter of 2022 and shared my tales with you through my Facebook page, but in case you missed it, here’s a quick synopsis:

I had met that “special someone,” but experienced heartbreak when we couldn’t get our schedules to coincide leaving me feeling depressed. I also had more than my share of physical trauma that included an abscessed tooth, followed by a broken crown, a root canal with a new crown. I lost consciousness and fell backwards which resulted in a scalp injury that needed 5 staples to help me heal. I am left with a scar for life. That was my Thanksgiving. I then ended the year with 4-weeks of symptoms that had all the makings of COVID; RSV flu; the regular flu; whooping cough; wheezing; bronchitis and walking pneumonia but instead was just a winter cold causing me to spend both Christmas and New Year’s eve in bed!

I survived it all and began the year knowing that the micro-dosing was going to be the answer for me, and it has been exactly that!

One of the documented benefits of micro-dosing is the proven re-setting of the brain which I like to refer to it as mental clarity. One of the funny places it appeared was in my skill at solitaire. My wins are way up and my times way down. It’s a simple measure but it speaks volumes as to its effects on the brain. Then there are the changes in my dreams, both the sleeping kind as well as one’s Life dreams! I’m also recognizing that I am more patient with others as well as with myself. I’m also aware of being kinder as a result and that makes me happy!

I’m also able to go out again after a long hiatus and am remembering the joy that I’m blessed to receive when I connect with my community, old and new. And BTW there are a lot of you out there that I haven’t had the opportunity to meet, so be forewarned. LOL

This month I predict will have lots of joy and excitement. My special man and I were able to re-connect and are planning to reunite right before Valentine’s Day. Woohoo and Yummy. I also have a new friend coming to town whose goal is to buy a place which is always an exciting event to share with someone. And, then with the advent of Modernism Week followed by International Bear Convergence (I.B.C.) we will be inundated with old and new people to enjoy and lots of dance parties in which to shine. So, I hope to see you out there, OK?

Coming full circle, I’d like you to know that I am very appreciative of all of you who made it clear that you were concerned about me and all that I had been through. Saying “Thank You.” doesn’t quite do it but you know it is heartfelt. I learned how to trust myself for the first time in my life which was huge for me. I consider the scar on my head to be my badge of courage. I basically gave myself the N.C.I.S., slap to the back of my head, (if you know that show) I just did it backwards! I liken it to when a CD that gets stuck and you must physically nudge the player to get it going again. The nudge got me alright and now, I’m back on track!

I am coming out of a rut that started for me way before COVID. I was already in trouble when we got hit in the gut with sheltering-in and all the changes that created a new world for us to adapt to. I feel like I can once again handle and deal with stressors that were showing up as an elevated heart rate and sky-high blood pressure. I’d like to believe that I can leave my troubles on the Dance Floor! So, let’s Go Dance!

We’re beyond thrilled to have had the chance to chat with Carine de Mesmaeker to find out more about Velvet Ibiza and what’s in store for 2023.

For those who are not familiar with Velvet Ibiza can describe the event in a few words?

Velvet Ibiza is an all-inclusive, five-day, five-night event at a resort, with tons of activities including pool parties, sports tournaments, and of course, plenty of dance parties with top dj’s. The ideal venture to meet hundreds of queer women from all over the world with only 1 goal: having a great time!

What inspired you to create such an event? And why Ibiza as the location?

There is a big need for queer women to come together in a safe and friendly environment. I wanted to create that place where queer women can come together to celebrate, meet each other, party, without stress of any boundaries…. ‘Be who you are’ is the key purpose. In Europe we don”t have that many events for queer women so I wanted to fill that gap. Velvet Ibiza is about inclusivity for the amazing diversity of women around the world.

Why on Ibiza?

Ibiza reflects the true spirit of being able to be yourself. The island was discovered and invaded in the 70’s by the so called ‘hippies’ who wanted to live freely. Its the period of Flower Power, Make love, no War.

The Club Punta Arabi, the location of the oldest hippie market, has been since 7 years the home base of Velvet Ibiza, Nowhere else on the island is the spirit and essence of Ibiza more alive than at Punta Arabi (now called Hotel Cala Martina)

You’re nearing 10 years producing this event - did you have any idea it would become such a staple in the world of Queer Women events?

My focus was to produce an event where all kinds of women could be united to have a great time. I was amazed to see how fast queer women from all over the world booked their trip. This only reaffirms the need for queer woman gatherings – creating a safe space to all come together.

What is it about Velvet Ibiza that makes it a MUST ATTEND event for Queer Women?

The amazing mix of women, from all over the world, all ages, all cultures. I’ve never seen such a good vibe and … the themed parties! On the schedule this year we have: Jungle Party, Message Party, Studio 69 (disco) Party. The perfect location of the hotel, next to the beach, and with an amazing sea view. What else can you ask for?

Can you tell us what’s on tap for this year? What can attendees expect this year?

We focus this year even more on extra activities for solo travelers like a message party, speed dating, etc…

There will be an even wider range of different music going from house, hip hop to sixties and we’ll throw a real Disco Fever party and some sets with 60’s and 80’s music.

What do you most look forward to this year? Any new surprisets?

I always look forward to meet the amazing queer women who attend. The first day is always so heart warming, many of them have become like family.

How do you go about booking your DJs? What do you focus on in your selection?

Being an ex-dj myself, the choice of dj’s is one of my top priorities. I also only select dj’s I’ve heard playing live.

My criteria is to present a whole range of music styles (from lounge music to hip hop, house,….) and to have dj’s from all around the world.

How do you ensure Velvet Ibiza remains inclusive and diverse in terms of it demographics?

The event draws its massive appeal in its diversity, the mix of cultures and the freedom to be who you are, is always present in the atmoshpere. The island and the Velvet event attracks all kind of queer women. The choice of music is also very important, as we try to please everyone.

What are some of the obstacles you’ve encountered along the way since the inception of the event?

The Covid period of course was a real challenge. The event was rescheduled 4 times and I had to wait 2 years to organise the next edition.

What is the one question I have not asked you which you wish I had, and why?

How is Velvet Ibiza different from other LGBTQ women’s events?

All happens in one location and this for 5 days on a row with girls from all over the world. AND the event is completely all-inclusive! This means your 5 night stay – 3 meals a day – free drinks till 11 pm – all parties and other activities. This makes it very very unique. GINGER SNAPS OUT SINGER KYLE MOTSINGER REFLECTS ON HIS TURBULENT ROAD TO STARDOM

The last couple of years have not been great for out singer and songwriter Kyle Motsinger. In his new alternative rock anthem releasing this month, he reflects on the long, arduous, road he has travelled in the pursuit of his rock star dreams.

“It’s been challenging with daily obstacles like waking up to find my bank account overdrawn and having to call mom and dad for grocery money,” he admits. “Or promoting a show at the venue I always dreamed of playing to only have one friend show up. It can be humiliating and soul-crushing. You start to wonder if anyone cares or if you are even talented.”

by MP Kuo, “Bad Years” is a theatrical song with a hopeful and encouraging message. “It is about how things can and will get better if you hold on,” Motsinger says. “One day, you will look back from a better place.”

Kyle Motsinger was born and raised in a small, conservative town of five hundred people near Peoria, Illinois. “I grew up singing Broadway tunes in the middle of cornfields,” he remembers.

He participated in school productions and community theatre as a youth and in college, he earned a BFA in musical theatre at Western Illinois University. He then moved to NYC where he performed in several Off-Broadway productions including Fancy

Nancy The Musical, a show based off the popular children’s books. Motsinger originated the rapping shark role and can be heard on the show’s cast album. “I am the OG baby shark,” he laughs.

While performing, he continued writing his own music and it eventually took the focus of his creativity. Kyle Motsinger has released two full-length albums, Far Away and Any Way, I Want It To. He’s also released six singles including “Dark Shadows”, based on the gothic sixties’ series and film by Tim Burton. The music video for the song starred Kathryn Leigh Scott from the series and it premiered to much fan acclaim at the Dark Shadows convention in Los Angeles.

As Kyle Motsinger approached his mid-thirties’, he began to feel that he wasn’t where he wanted to be in life. He channeled that frustration into a batch of new songs that appear on his upcoming album. Like “Bad Years”, much of the material muses on life’s struggles and finding joy in conflict.

“The life I have chosen hasn’t been an easy one, but I wouldn’t change it,” Kyle Motsinger explains. He says he has matured through

trial, both as a person and an artist, and believes that it shows in his music. “I think ‘Bad Years’ is the best piece I’ve written so far. I’m proud of it and I really believe in it.”

He credits the engineering wizardry of MP Kuo, best known for her work on Trixie Mattel’s first two EPs, with the quality of the recording. Also, the incredible artistry of Zachary Eldridge on drums, Chris Bonner on bass, and Adam Stoler on guitars as well as a slew of talent from the New York theatre stage including Broadway pit musicians Janey Choi, Conrad Harris, Mark Kosmala, and Joel Lambdin. Broadway’s Trisha Jeffrey (Rent, Little Shop of Horrors) and NYC actor Jason Pintar provide the background vocals. NY Drama Desk nominee Mark Hartman plays piano.

Although there is a broad sonic palette across the tracks on RUSH!’, Måneskin have still managed to maintain their distinct identity as a band, because even in the alternation of different genres (from the tiktok era punk feel of ‘Bla, Bla, Bla’ and ‘Kool Kids’ to the power ballads such as ‘Timezone’ and the significant subject matter of ‘Gasoline’ and ‘Mark Chapman’ the band’s unique sonic imprint is evident throughout, as all the tracks remain emotionally and sonically raw. Worldwide fan anticipation for the album became immediately evident as RUSH! quickly debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts in over 20 countries.

To celebrate the album’s release, the band threw ‘the wedding of the year’ yesterday in Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome, Italy - the city where Måneskin’s personal and musical relationship was born. All four members, Damiano David, Victoria de Angelis, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio symbolically tied the knot in a four-way marriage, promising eternal loyalty to one another as the band continue to conquer the world and reach dizzying new heights. Bringing all the people who were a pivotal part of their success, and in their love for rock, including last night’s Master of Ceremonies, Alessandro Michele and notable names including Baz Luhrmann, Machine Gun Kelly, Paolo Sorrentino, Sabrina Impacciatore and many more among the guests.

The album comes as the band continues their global LOUD KIDS world tour. The 2023 leg of the tour kicks off in February through to May where they will play 32 dates in front of more than 500,000 fans.
