My favorite picture book is Kon to Aki. This story is a book about a girl named Aki and her stuffed fox named Kon who encounter various difficulties on their way to their grandmother’s house together. The author of this book is Akiko Hayashi.

Like Aki, I had a stuffed animal when I was a child that I cherished as if it were my friend, and this book is one of my favorites because it reminds me of that time. Looking back on it now, it may seem impossible, but I had an experience as a child that I was able to talk with a stuffed animal in my mind. I like this story because this is a fascinating story about Kon, who called out to me that it is okay when I was worried.

In this way, Kon was leading Aki at the beginning of the journey, but due to various difficulties, Kon gradually weakened, and Aki is drawn carrying Kon on her back as they headed home as an illustration. In contrast to Aki, the little girl who grows up, the relationship between Aki and Kon, who never grows up and gets older day by day is a story that is somewhat sad.
