Volví a Lima después de varios años, de sorpresa, sin que nadie supiera, pero en realidad la sorpresa me la llevé yo. Estaba caótica, como siempre, pero esta vez era diferente, todo el mundo estaba de fiesta; festejaban las Fiestas Patrias y se sentían una vibra y energía, que no puedo describir con palabras. De pronto me invadió el sentimiento de patriotismo que tenía dormido, como anestesiado, sin darme cuenta. « I returned to Lima after several years of being away, without telling anyone since I wanted to surprise them, but the truth is it was me who was taken by surprise. The city was chaotic, as usual, but this time it was different, everyone was in a good mood, celebrating the national independence and I felt a vibe and energy, I cannot describe in words. Suddenly the feeling of patriotism that I had kept asleep inside of me, almost anesthetized, invaded me without realizing it. « • 20 •
