2022 Sedgwick County Fair Guide
Sign up for the Run to Cheney
The annual Run to Cheney, a longtime event at the Sedgwick County Fair, will take place on Saturday, July 23, with two races. The 5-kilometer race will begin at 8 a.m. The 1-mile race will start at 9 a.m. For the second straight year, the start and finish area will be at Cheney High School, 800 N. Marshall. The cost is $20 per person. Registrations will be accepted until race day, but you must sign up by July 14 to be guaranteed a T-shirt. Awards and snacks are included with your registration. You can register online using the QR code with this story or sign up the day of the race. The number of participants last year was down slightly in the first event after COVID, but organizers hope to have at least 100 runners in 2022. “We’d love to have people out. The more, the merrier,” said Todd Hague, one of the race’s organizers. The race benefits the Cheney Alumni Association’s scholarship fund. Racers under 18 need to have parental permis-
