Life Conference Children’s Track

DISCOVERING OUR TALENTS FOR GOD'S KINGDOM

BY ZACHARY LEE

While their parents attended Life Conference's Main Track at the Sanctuary, our young Trinitarians from DiscoveryLand and Pre-Teens were enlivening the atmosphere at the Summit with their robustness and eagerness to encounter God.

Together with their oikos, the children engaged in a series of interactive games. With this year’s theme being “Discovering Your Talent for God’s Kingdom”, the games facilitated the children to discover each other’s strengths and talents quickly. They were able to reassemble and deploy themselves effectively to complete each game’s objectives. Not only did they have lots of fun with the games, but they also bonded well and appreciated one another, including their giftings.

Pre-teen Sarah May Ng, 12, initially turned down her mother’s invitation to join, but changed her mind when she found out that her friends were joining the conference.

We give thanks to God for the powerful encounters that the children had with Him.

She experienced supernatural patience when she needed to work with her group to achieve certain game’s objectives. She felt carefree and comfortable with the positive and friendly atmosphere. She was surprised God touched her heart during praise and worship because she was not focused on her own negative self-conscious thoughts as usual but gave her full attention to God.

She shared, “Learning God's word takes time, but in the end, it is fulfilling. I enjoyed myself and I hope many others will sign up for Life Conference Children Track next year."

We give thanks to God for the powerful encounters that the children had with Him during worship and services in between the games.

As Pastor Joseph Teo preached over the two days with the help of his three friends, Gordon Damsey, Baatricia and Priscasso, the children learned that God has good plans for every one of them. They also learned that He has blessed them with talents to be used for His glory. The children had the opportunity to hear from God and list out their talents while they reflected on Matthew 20:28, “just as the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” They discovered what God intended for them to be using their talents to serve and build His Kingdom.

On the last day, the children learned about Jesus’ love for them through his death on the cross and resurrection on the third day. When Pastor Joseph gave the altar call for salvation, fourteen children accepted Jesus as their Savior that day.

Amazingly, many responded to the next altar call of serving God full time. They were willing to dedicate their lives to Him even at such a young age.

We praise God for the powerful work He has done in the lives of our young ones. We look forward to seeing them continue to encounter God powerfully in their own lives. We pray that they will grow deeper in their love and passion for God and use their talents for God’s Kingdom!

UNDIVIDED

CAMPUS CONFERENCE

BY MALCOLM TAY

A total of 172 Campus Ministry students and 25 oikos came together for the annual Campus Conference, Undivided, from July 11 to 14. The oikos turnout was unprecedented as Campus students stepped out boldly to invite their peers.

Serena Lai (Year 4, NTU) was all smiles when she recounted the things that God spoke to her when she was being prayed for. “I am reminded that the place of surrender is a place of restoration. When I choose to come bare before God, just like how Jacob decided to be truthful before God, this allows the chains of guilt and shame to be broken and for me to receive God's full restoration.”

Johann Poon (NUS Leader) was heartened to experience breakthrough in his section’s community life. He quipped, “We have not been able to gather as one big section since the pandemic started and this conference has allowed us to do just that.“

“What’s more, an oikos came for the BBQ and we were able to get to know him better and share Christ with him.”

We saw many food bloggers and chefwannabes as campus students teamed up to make no-bake Oreo Cheesecake. Joylynn Teo’s (Year 2, NTU) oikos, Ruzzina, found the activities “unique and engaging” and had “a fun time bonding with her group and other groups alike through the whisking portion of the cheesecake making”. It was truly a battle of biceps and triceps while whisking.

The sermons I Won’t Change My Mind by Pastor Wendy Chang and Pursue God’s Purpose without Terms and Conditions by Sister Elisa Tan imparted strong divine messages – to live an undivided life and to wholeheartedly pursue God alone.

their general and specific purposes in Christ. They learned practical handles on living out Christ-centered lives.

Ashley Teo (Year 2, University at Buffalo) shared candidly that she did not have any expectations prior to attending the conference. Unsuspectingly, God touched her and she left the conference with strong convictions to live for Him with her heart undivided. She spoke, “through the extended times of praise and worship, I learned to focus on God with undivided attention. To seek Him in all that I do. In this new semester, I want to entrust everything to him without doubt!”

Undivided was a conference where Campus students received massive breakthroughs. Students found relationships strengthened, and their lives transformed by God’s amazing presence and power. They also gained fervor to reach our generation to advance God’s Kingdom.

God moved powerfully during worship, teaching, and altar call portions. Many hearts were consecrated towards God once again. The workshops, by Pastor Wendy on discipleship and Pastor Gerald Tan on purpose, taught Campus students on discovering
