Wildfees hosts award winning artists

T
he 13th annual Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees, is officially the country’s largest festival hosted in a small town.
This year festival-goers can look forward to a line-up of award-winning artists and shows at the Wildsfees, which takes place from June 27 to June 29. Artists to be seen live on the biggest stage in the Eastern Cape include 2014 Ghoema award-winners Karlien van Jaarsveld, Andri-
ette Norman, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Jay and Elvis Blue. Other multi-award-winning acts include the Parlotones, Mango Groove and Emo Adams. Popular Blackbyrd will also visit the festival as well as “Die Nuwe Graskoue Trappers Rieldansers”, all the way from Wupperthal in the Cedarberg Mountains. Stage productions In addition, the multi award-winning play “Oskar en die Pienk tannie”, with Sandra
Prinsloo in the lead role, is being brought to the Eastern Cape by the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees. Aerobatics & extreme sports Off the stage, the “wild” action will include: an aerobatic display by four-time South African aerobatic champion Patrick Davidson; multi award-winning chef Jodi-Ann Pearton; 11-time South African trials champion “one wheel” Brent le Riche with his Extreme Motorcycle Trials Show, and champion dogs and
cats. Skaapkop Langtafel The festival itself will be vying for a world record award – by having 400 foodies enjoying traditional “skaapkop” (sheeps’ heads) at the same table and at the same time. A new addition to the three day programme is the Algoa FM/Coca-Cola Songololo Stretch, which will host live entertainment through the day for children. )Also visit www.wildsfees.co.za
