t’s summer time! And the UD Express is once again looking for a baby - with a summer pose – to grace its front page of its last edition of the year on Thursday, December 20th.

How to enter Babies born on 25 December 2016 or in the months to follow until now, are allowed to be entered. Submit a high resolution quality photo of your baby with “Summer” as the theme. Whether it be a flower in the hair, sunglasses, surfboard or a cute baby bikini, be creative and submit your the photo via the UD’s social media platforms. The closing date for entries is November 30 at 16:00. Enter on social media platforms The social platforms to choose from in submitting the photos include the following: .Facebook – UD Express Om the left of our Facebook page, click on the Summer Baby tab which will take you to the entry form where you can upload your baby’s photo and enter all the details. Alternatively, if you can’t find it via your mobile device, you can enter at www.udexpress.co.za. .Twitter – @UDExpress1 Submit your photo via Twitter; include all the necessary info and then tag @UDExpress1 and #UDBaby2017. .Instagram – ep_media24 1) Follow us on Instagram (private accounts are not visible to us) 2) Upload your photo and include all the necessary info.

Your blood is needed to set new world record
T
he Guinness World Record attempt for donating the most units of blood in one day by a town, is what is happening at Engen Penford in Uitenhage tomorrow. The special blood drive event will take place tomorrow from 09:00 till 18:00 and it will be officially opened by Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Athol Trollip. Engen Penford dealer Gerrit Meyer said that they “want to go big and ensure that Engen Penford’s annual blood drive will make a real difference.” In order to set a new world record, a total of 150 units of blood need to be donated. “We’d love everyone to help us put Uitenhage on the map as the town donating the most units of blood in one day,” said Marthinus Greyling, organiser of the event. 5km WalkRunRemember for Cancer
The very first Oracle FM Walk-RunRemember 5km for Cancer will be held at 08:00 on Saturday, October 7th starting and finishing at Engen Penford Convenience Centre. All profits will go towards The Igazi Foundation which is based at the Provincial Hospital in PE. Participation is R30 per entrant or R25 per group entry consisting of a minimum of 5 participants.
