Introduction The University Aviation Association (UAA) is a nonprofit organization that represents colleges and universities that offer academic degree programs in aviation at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The purpose of this publication is to consolidate the publicly available information concerning collegiate aviation scholarships in one document. It is expected that the university aviation student, students’ parents, and faculty members, as well as prospective students and their parents, will find the information in this catalog useful. In all, this publication describes how to obtain applications for over 300+ collegiate aviation scholarship awards with a total value of over one million dollars. In order to ensure accuracy of the data, extensive cross checking was performed with online sources. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of all scholarships though every attempt is made to update each scholarship every year. Scholarship sponsors that find an error in the listing are requested to send a corrected version of their listing to hello@uaa.aero. The total number of scholarships and the amounts of scholarships listed in this catalog, while impressive, are a small part of the total financial aid possibilities available to college aviation students.

Description CAE, a worldwide leader in training for the civil aviation, defense and security and health care markets, will award up to FOUR entry level corporate jet aircraft training scholarships in 2021. These scholarships will be awarded to four different students from, or recent graduates of, University Aviation Association member institutions. The aims of the scholarship are to: (1) Provide additional industry-based training opportunities for university aviation students. (2) To broaden the awareness of corporate aviation career paths among university aviation students. The scholarship will include initial training in an entry-level corporate jet (the type of aircraft subject to schedule availability) resulting in a type rating upon successful completion of the course. The applicant is responsible for all travel and housing related costs during the training. Scholarship Criteria Applicants must be candidates for, or have received an aviation-related Baccalaureate Degree from a University Aviation Association member institution. Current students must be graduating by May 2022 or must not have graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree more than two years before the May 2022. Applicants must have a minimum of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale overall cumulative grade point average. Applicants must possess a current 1st class medical, commercial Pilot License with a multi-engine and instrument rating, and a Certified Flight Instructor rating with instrument airplane endorsement. Applicants must have flown a minimum of 50 hours PIC or SIC within the previous 12 months. Applicants must have a minimum of 50 hours of multi-engine time. Applicants must be available for training during June, July, or August 2021 and must pay for their travel to CAE at DFW Airport, Texas, or another CAE facility, as needed. Recipients of this scholarship will be trained together as a crew of two on any entry-level corporate jet. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in corporate or business aviation by writing a 250-word essay on how this scholarship will fit into their plans to enter corporate/business aviation. This essay must demonstrate how the applicant will use the CAE SimuFlite Scholarship to pursue a flight-related career. (Tip: have a friend or professional double-check your essay and application for grammatical errors.)

Kropf Scholarship Scholarship Sponsor University Aviation Association (UAA) Contact 8092 Memphis Ave., Ste 132 Millington, TN 38053 www.uaa.aero Usual Deadline June Amount(s) Awarded $500 Description The University Aviation Association annually awards a $500 scholarship to applicants who are enrolled in an aviation-related curriculum at a UAA member college or university and have achieved sophomore status at the institution. Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to gender, race, religion, or national origin. Scholarship Criteria Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Applicant must be enrolled in and plan to continue a college curriculum leading to a two-year, fouryear, or post-graduate degree in the field of aviation. Proof of enrollment must be provided prior to distribution of award. At the time of application, the applicant must be officially enrolled in a UAA member institution in an aviation-related program. Member must have completed 30 or more credit hours (or the equivalent for Sophomore status) at the UAA institution and must include the institution’s UAA number with the application. No exceptions to this criterion. Credits must have been completed and on your transcript at the time of application. Applicant must have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. The completed application must be accompanied by a 250-word typed, double-spaced paper on “How Can I Improve Aviation Education.” Please be direct and focused on the topic.

Scholarship Criteria Students are eligible to apply if they, their spouse, or their parent/guardian is an active A.A.E AND a member of the the AAAE Regional Chapter. Under this program, “children” are defined as natural or legally adopted children, stepchildren and legal wards supported wholly by the guardian, who is an active A.A.E. A.A.E.s must be full-time employees of a public-use airport at the time of application. Recipients must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course load at an accredited two- or four-year college/university or vocational/ technical, in any course of study. If the applicant is the eligible A.A.E. or the spouse of an eligible A.A.E., they may be enrolled in a part-time course load. All awards are non-renewable, but applicants may reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.

Description LTNA awards one scholarship to graduating high school seniors and college undergraduate students accepted to or currently enrolled at accredited institutions of higher learning in degree programs in the fields of transportation logistics, supply-chain management, traffic management, or transportation safety. The awards are based upon scholastic ability, potential, professional interest, and character. Financial need is also considered. Scholarship Criteria A certified transcript directly from applicant’s college/university. Two or three letters of recommendation. Must submit an essay of two hundred fifty (250) words, explaining why you have chosen transportation logistics or an allied field as a career path, and outline your objectives.

TIPS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR BEST APPLICATION • Read the requirements and follow all directions paying attention to the details. • If a certified transcript is required – be sure it is certified. • Can I write more than 500 words in my essay? Please keep essays within the specified word count. • Don’t miss the deadline and start early. • Make sure your application package is complete and ALL requested material is included. Incomplete application packages will not be reviewed. • Do not include things that are not requested in the application – i.e. photos, videos, etc. • Proofread and review thoroughly before submission and consider having a mentor review for completeness prior to submission.

The aims of the scholarship are to: (1) Provide additional industry-based training opportunities for university aviation students. Don had earned his Airframe and Power License and was well on the way to a degree in aeronautical engineering when he felt impelled to join the workforce at Lockheed Aircraft at the outbreak of WWII. Don later joined the Army Air Corps where he eventually joined the Aviation Cadet program. He was transitioning to fighters when the war ended. He returned to Lockheed where he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Tony LeVere, Howard Hughes, and worked on the P-80 program. In 1947, Don took a job with Alaska Coastal Airlines in Juneau. He stayed through a series of mergers, to retire from Alaska Airlines in 1993. Carol was from the Chicago area where she attended business school. She traveled to Alaska on a whim, and took a job at Alaska Airlines where the two met. Don was one of the first authorized inspectors in Southeast Alaska, an area where he remained active throughout the rest of his life.

Description Nancy Miller Livingston Stratford flew 50 different aircraft in World War II and went on to accumulate some 8,500 hours in 103 different types. At 23, she was one of the first American women to become a ferry pilot for the British Air Transport Auxiliary. After WWii, Nancy earned her seaplane and helicopter wings, and owned Livingston Helicopters in Alaska. She is the second licensed woman commercial helicopter pilot in the USA and fourth in the world. Her memoir, “Contact! Britain: A woman ferry pilot’s story during WWII in England!” published in 2011. This year she celebrated her 99th birthday and the San Diego 99s honor her with this scholarship. Applicants demonstrating a superior academic record conducting research applied to aerospace engineering or space sciences are eligible. It is imperative that students be registered in a full-time Ph.D. doctoral program and have completed at least one year of that program, or have received a master degree in an aerospace-applied field at the time the application is submitted. Applicants must not graduate before April, 2022. Please note that post-doctoral research programs are not eligible for the Fellowship.
