Wedding celebrations are not just for the young. I have had the greatest pleasure in helping many a mature bride get ready for her special day. Whether a first time wedding, second time around or a special commitment ceremony, these ladies glow in the light of happiness. To keep them that way throughout their day, I reach for my favorite go to make-up, Mirabella. To achieve your best look start with your skin. HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Always drink plenty of water. The experts say drink half your weight in ounces. It really does make a difference, so drink up! Your best defense against skin imperfections actually comes before applying any makeup. Make sure you are moisturizing your face and neck, as well as protecting your skin from the sun all year round. I use Mirabella CC Creame on a daily basis. It's like a moisturizer, light concealer and sun block with a SPF of 20 all in one. It's best applied with your fingers to break up the vitamins in the product. If you need a bit more coverage for blemishes or redness on your wedding day, or in general, use the Mirabella Skin Tint Creme, best applied with a Mirabella Foundation Brush. Make sure to match the foundation color to your skin tone, so your skin won't be a shade or two off from your neck and shoulders. Now that we have a clean smooth face, lets add a bit of color. Starting with the eyes, create the best frame for your eyes by making sure your eyebrows are shaped and filled in with an eyebrow pencil. Mirabella Brow Pencil comes in three different shades. I love them; they go on easy, they last and they don't smudge. Apply a little concealer on your eyelids and under the eyes with a Mirabella Concealer Brush. Used to lighten bluish or dark tones, this also helps eye shadow stay on longer. 12 | Vermont Bride LOOKBOOK

Choosing a natural matte eye shadow through the crease of the eyes, creates a better illusion for maturing eyes. Shimmery eye shadow draws attention to fine lines on the eyes. If there is any puffiness – it will also be exaggerated by using shimmer through the crease of the eyes. Keep it light and simple. To give your lash line a defined fine line I use Mirabella's Magic Marker which comes in black and brown. Follow with two applications of Mirabella's Waterproof Mascara. Lets move on to lips next. Some woman may be nervous to use color, thinking that it will "bleed" or "feather" through the fine creaks around the lips. Not my Brides! I use the Mirabella Perfecting Lip Definer, simply outlining your lips with this clear pencil. It forms a protective barrier that stops bleeding and feathering in its tracks. Follow with Mirabella Colour Vinyl Lipstick. Choose a color that is a shade lighter or darker then your natural lip color. If you have small lips, go brighter or lighter rather than darker. Darker will make your lips look smaller and your face more severe. For the final step, add a little color to your cheeks. Stay close to your lip color family when choosing your blush. You don't want a peach blush with pink lips. Mirabella Blush Colour Duo is wonderful in that it has a darker shade to apply right under your cheek bone and a lighter color to apply on the bone, giving both softness and dimension. High-quality make-up is important for a great finished look, as well as for the condition of your skin.

beauty buzz The tools used are also very important; you just can’t apply makeup in a flawless way without the right brushes! I have found the best way to help ladies of all ages, is to point out their best features, and show them how to make the most of them. They then start to see themselves differently. Looking good is a game that anyone can learn to play. And once you learn how to play by the rules, it makes the game more fun and the end result more interesting. I am happy to share these tips on doing your own make-up, although I highly recommend having a professional make-up Artist on your special day. Chances are you have financially invested in this day with a beautiful dress, an amazing venue, great friends... Give yourself that extra love, and attention, you'll be thankful when you see your transformed self in your forever photos!

During the Victorian era, floral arrangements were exchanged between a suitor and his love interest to convey messages of love. There are whole dictionaries written on the symbolism of plants and how they are used to express certain sentiments and deeper meanings. The “Language of Flowers” collection of bridal accessories by Edera Jewelry, featured here, was inspired by these symbolic meanings of flowers that are connected to love and marriage. Orange blossoms symbolize eternal love and marriage. Camellias express sentiments of adoration and perfection. Peonies convey romance and a happy marriage. Ivy translates to wedded bliss. You said “Yes!”—now what? It’s time to pick your wedding date! You need to take time to consider the following before you send “save the date” cards. MEANING OF THE DATE: Is there a date that is special to the
two of you, such as the day you met? Are their dates that should avoid because they remind you or those closest to you of something sad, like the anniversary of a beloved relative’s death? You may want to pick a date that isn’t associated with any other event and let your wedding day have its own meaning. CHERISHED GUESTS: You want the people you love there to cel-
ebrate with you. For extra special guests, give them a call to find out which dates won’t work for them. This is critically important for parents, siblings, anyone helping to pay for the wedding, and people you want in the wedding party. VENUE AVAILABILITY: Friday evenings (for rehearsals) and

Spring tends to be wet, chilly and muddy, at the same time the trees are bursting with lush new leaves making a nice photo backdrop. After you have selected your date, you need to think about the time of day. Morning weddings are rare since everyone needs time to prepare. The best wedding photos are during what photographers refer to as the Golden Hour, which is an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset. You should allow an hour for your ceremony. That would mean having your wedding two hours before sunset. Check sunset times online. In the warmer months you need a shaded area to avoid having photos with everyone squinting. Having your wedding date selected is your starting point. After securing the venue, which is the most important thing checklist item, you can move on to finding all of the other necessary supporting cast, such as a great photographer, creative florist and musical talent.

MARCY WAS ALSO SERVING IN THE AIR FORCE AND STATIONED IN ENGLAND, BUT THEY HAD TO WAIT FIVE MONTHS FOR JUSTIN TO RETURN BEFORE THEY OFFICIALLY STARTED DATING. A HUGE MANCHESTER UNITED SOCCER FAN, MARCY WAS EXCITED TO SCORE TICKETS TO THEIR LAST HOME MATCH. SHE WAS EVEN MORE EXCITED WHEN JUSTIN PROPOSED RIGHT IN THE STANDS BEFORE THE START OF THE MATCH! MARCY AND JUSTIN CHOSE VERMONT FOR IT’S PROXIMITY TO WHERE THEIR FAMILIES LIVE IN NEW YORK-FAR ENOUGH AWAY TO FEEL LIKE A DESTINATION BUT CLOSE ENOUGH FOR THEIR GRANDPARENTS TO ATTEND. MIKE AND DEVON ACTUALLY ATTENDED THE SAME HIGH SCHOOL, ONE YEAR APART, BUT HAD NEVER MET UNTIL A MUTUAL FRIEND INTRODUCED THEM. THEY WERE BOTH IN THE WEDDING PARTY FOR THEIR FRIEND’S WEDDING AND STARTED DATING SOON AFTER. WHILE ON VACATION IN ST. CROIX, THE COUPLE WENT FOR A ROMANTIC STROLL ON THE BEACH AFTER DINNER. MIKE TOLD DEVON HE JUST COULDN’T WAIT ANY LONGER AND PROPOSED RIGHT THEN, ON THE BEACH. WHILE VISITING MIKE’S PARENTS IN CONCORD, NH, THEY WENT TO SIMON PEARCE FOR LUNCH AND FELL IN LOVE WITH QUECHEE, VT. AFTER LEARNING THAT DEVON’S GRANDMOTHER HAD SPENT HER HONEYMOON IN QUECHEE AFTER HER WEDDING IN 1952, THE COUPLE DECIDED THAT QUECHEE WAS THE PERFECT PLACE TO HOLD THEIR WEDDING. THEY WANTED A MINI-DESTINATION CELEBRATION WHERE THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY COULD SPEND THE ENTIRE WEEKEND TOGETHER, FROM A WELCOME BBQ TO A TRIP TO THE LONG TRAIL BREWERY, AND A HIKE ALONG QUECHEE GORGE. ALEX AND MATTHEW MET AT A BICYCLE RACE WHERE BOTH OF THEIR COLLEGES WERE COMPETING. MATTHEW WAS RACING AND ALEX WAS THERE AS A PHOTOGRAPHER. AT FIRST MATTHEW THOUGHT ALEX WAS DATING ONE OF THE CYCLISTS, BUT SOON LEARNED SHE WAS SINGLE. EVEN THOUGH HE HAD ONE OF HIS WORST RACES OF THE SEASON, FEARING HE HAD DASHED HIS HOPES OF WINNING HER OVER, THE TWO WERE SOON DATING. ALEX WAS IN FLORENCE, ITALY FOR A SCHOOL STUDY TOUR AND MATTHEW JOINED HER FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY. JUST AFTER CLIMBING A HILL ON THE EDGE OF THE CITY, WITH ALL OF FLORENCE SPREAD OUT BELOW THEM, MATTHEW GOT DOWN ON ONE KNEE AND ASKED ALEX TO MARRY HIM. THEN THE COUPLE HOPPED ON A TRAIN TO THE ROMANTIC CITY OF VENICE TO SPEND A FEW NIGHTS CELEBRATING. VERMONT WAS THE IDEAL LOCATION FOR THE PAIR TO CELEBRATE THEIR UNION. IT IS WHERE ALEX SPENT MANY OF HER WINTERS GROWING UP SKIING WITH HER FAMILY THE COUPLE HAD VISITED THE WOODSTOCK INN SEVERAL TIMES FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND IT WAS THEIR DREAM LOCATION FOR A WEDDING. ANNIE KNEW OF DENNY BEFORE THEY OFFICIALLY MET—HER BROTHER HAD COACHED DENNY ON THE YALE HOCKEY TEAM. WHEN THEY MET AT A BAR IN BOSTON ONE NIGHT, THE PAIR HIT IT OFF. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY WERE BOTH ABOUT TO EMBARK ON SEPARATE ADVENTURES—HER TO A NEW JOB TEACHING IN VERMONT AND HE WAS TO PLAY HOCKEY IN FRANCE. FOR SEVEN MONTHS THEY GRADUALLY GOT TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER AND THEN FINALLY WENT ON THEIR FIRST DATE WHEN DENNY RETURNED TO VERMONT. ON A HIKE UP THE DARTMOUTH SKI WAY DENNY POPPED THE QUESTION. ANNIE HAD A FEW HINTS ABOUT WHAT WAS COMING—SPECIFICALLY DENNY INSISTING ON BRINGING HIS RAIN COAT EVEN THOUGH THERE WASN’T A CLOUD IN THE SKY—BUT THE MOMENT WAS STILL EMOTIONAL. DENNY, WHO HAS BEEN PLAYING HOCKEY HIS WHOLE LIFE, TOLD ANNIE THAT HE HAD, “…BEEN ON A LOT OF TEAMS, BUT THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST TEAM I HAVE EVER BEEN ON”. DANIELLE AND TIM MET AT A YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL CONFERENCE, WHERE THEY WERE EACH REPRESENTING THEIR RESPECTIVE COLLEGES, AND IMMEDIATELY HIT IT OFF. AFTER GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER, AND SPENDING A COMPETITIVE NIGH BOWLING, IT DID NOT TAKE LONG FOR THE PAIR TO BECOME “OFFICIAL”. WHEN TIM DECIDED TO PROPOSE HE DREW INSPIRATION FROM DANIELLE’S LOVE OF CLASSIC MUSICALS AND PLANNED A FLASH MOB WITH THE HELP OF DANIELLE’S FRIEND, AND DANCER, MICHELE MACKAY. DANIELLE KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO WATCH THE FLASH MOB, BUT HAD NO IDEA THAT TIM WAS PLAYING AN IMPORTANT ROLE. TIM HAD EVEN ARRANGED FOR THEIR CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO BE HIDING OUT NEARBY AND FOR A LOCAL BROADCASTING COMPANY TO FILM THE ENTIRE THING. WHEN TIM JUMPED INTO THE CENTER OF THE FLASH MOB DANIELLE WAS SHOCKED BUT STILL DID NOT REALIZE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, UNTIL TIM KNELT TO THE GROUND AND BROUGHT OUT THE RING. EVEN THOUGH THE COUPLE MOVED TO FLORIDA SHORTLY AFTER THEIR ENGAGEMENT, THEY KNEW THAT VERMONT WAS WHERE THEY WANTED TO HAVE THEIR WEDDING. HAVING THE CELEBRATION AT A RESORT WHERE ALL OF THEIR GUESTS COULD STAY WITH THEM WAS IMPORTANT TO THEM, AND THEY QUICKLY FELL IN LOVE WITH MOUNT SNOW FOR THE BEAUTY OF THE RESORT, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, AND THE HELPFULNESS OF THE STAFF. JENNA AND MICHAEL OPTED FOR A CLEAR TOPPED TENT FOR THEIR RECEPTION SO THE TENT COULD INVITE IN THE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS AND THEIR GUESTS WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE MOON AND STARS AS THE EVENING PROGRESSED. THE COUPLE WERE INSPIRED BY PARIS, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES ON EARTH, FOR THEIR THEME. A COLOR PALETTE OF NEUTRAL CREAMS AND WHITES, PAIRED WITH A SOFT BLUSH PINK AND A CLASSIC FRENCH BLUE, PLAYED PERFECTLY WITH THE ROMANTIC AND ELEGANT FEEL OF THE DÉCOR. WOODEN BOXES, WITH FRENCH WORDS OF LOVE STENCILED ON THE SIDES, OVERFLOWING WITH TULIPS ON THE TABLES CREATED A SCENE STRAIGHT FROM A PARISIAN FLOWER MARKET. honeymoon hot spots
Most of the high-rise hotels and resorts are located on Palm Beach, this area is more active and a hub for day time activities and nightlife all within steps from most of the hotels in the area. On Eagle Beach, you can find more of the smaller resorts most of which are two stories or no higher than the palm trees. This area is more laid back and still only about a 5-minute drive to Oranjestad and the Palm beach area. If you are looking for a little fun and nightlight most of the resorts have their own in-house casinos and entertainment. There are many options as well around the island mostly in the Palm Beach area where you can enjoy a wide range of activities including a quiet dinner on the beach, listening to a local band or strolling along one of the many piers in Palm Beach. Aruba is full of fun! With the many white sandy beaches and many water activities which include sailing, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, kite-surfing, deep-sea fishing and many other water activities you are sure to have some fun in the sun. There are also a ton of land activities including atv adventures, museums, caves, natural bridges, and jeep tours that will take you around the island to include stops at the California lighthouse, the charming Alto Vista chapel, Bushiribana gold mill ruins, and finishing off on a private island. There are so many different things you can check out you will never be bored. Aruba is an island that offers so much before you leave you will be planning your next trip back for more adventure and relaxation!
