KEEP PUSHIN Don’t force yourself to create the whole mind map in one sitting. Not only is that going to exhaust you but you’re bound to miss things that need to be added, often things that will only come to you after reflection and sleeping on it. Once your mind is in the flow of creating the mind map, it will continue to make an impression on you through the day, and you’ll think of new things to add. Therefore, take breaks and go back to the mind map repeatedly.
DON’T GET HUNG UP ON MAKING THE “PERFECT” MIND MAP Nothing is permanent on the mind map and you can always change its spot in your map. In fact, this is encouraged because as time moves on, you will begin to see

THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS Written by : Angel Shujau
The little black dress or commonly known as the LBD, is a dress that has withstood time and trend for centuries. It is the default answer when a woman has seemingly nothing to wear and has the ability to transform any woman into a sensual creature who elicits confidence and radiance. This simple, almost banal looking black dress has been a wardrobe staple of the fashion connoisseur for decades. This is the enigma of the little black dress, and fashion’s endless romance with it is intriguing and beautiful.

Famous Femmes in black The LBD was often worn by Hollywood’s glamour goddesses, singers, socialites and other famous personalities that helped cement its place in fashion’s history as an iconic dress. The legendary French singer Edith Piaf also known affectionately as “The Little Sparrow”, wore only black, throughout her career. The black dress complemented her small frame and gave her a powerful stage presence and the simplicity of the dress helped the audience to focus more on her voice rather than her appearance. Wallis Simpson, the duchess of Windsor was a famous socialite, style connoisseur and an LBD devotee who once said “When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place.” Hollywood’s popular poster girl and muse for many artists, Marilyn Monroe, elaborated her features with a black dress, accentuating her blonde locks, alabaster skin, red lips and voluptuous body. Make a statement The inky simplicity of the LBD enhances one’s best physical features and works as the perfect backdrop to show off jewelry. To give a black dress the modern classic touch, try accessorizing with statement jewelry. A short leather dress with a crew neck and flared bottom can be paired with a metallic choker. leopard is a great way to add sophistication. If you are looking to add some zest to your office wardrobe, try an animal printed pump, stiletto or ballet flat with a simple three quarter sleeved black dress. This ensemble can be worn from work to a dinner with a special someone. If you are a sporty person and love to experiment with new styles; then try on a black blazer dress with leopard printed slip-on sneakers for that unique fashion statement.
How do you style your LBD today?
Play of texture If you, like Angelina Jolie, love to wear only black or if color is a forbidden zone in your closet; then
For the 21st century modern woman, the ways to style a little black dress is endless. It can be worn from day to night, dressed up for a formal occasion or dressed down for a casual day out. Invest in a short black dress that complements your figure, pair the right accessories to the appropriate occasion and you could have several different outfits using the same dress. Try these simple key tips to help guide your style:
make sure your black game is on fleek by playing with different textures of fabric and material. Pair contrasting fabrics together, like leather and jersey and play with black jewelry to enrich the look. For an evening party, go for a dress that has a sequined upper body and a matt skirt bottom. The sequins on the top helps to create the illusion of height. Sheer and opaque also works, and black lace is timeless and ideal to any occasion.
35
Pair the Pants The skirt over pants trend has been spotted on the runways for a few years now and designers like Armani have provided sleek styles to be inspired from. And what’s a piece of clothing if it is not multifunctional? Wearing a skirt (or dress) over a pair of pants might sound a bit weird to some, but this can work to the advantage of the modern woman as it is practical and timeless. A short black dress of any style (whether it be, sheath, loose or A-line) can be harmonized with a pair of tailored black cigarette pants and strappy heels to achieve a classic yet contemporary look.
Pop of color Balancing color with the lack-there-off is a match made in fashion heaven. The play of contrasts can help elevate a look instantly. If you are headed out for a shopping trip with your friends, make a simple black jersey dress a multifunctional piece of clothing by tucking it neatly inside a pastel blue pair of jeans. Playful colors, like pinks yellows and greens instantly cheer up a look. Black contrasts well with red and white too. If you are dressed in black from head to toe, then carry a red tote or sport a pair of multicolored mirror sunglasses to give a refreshing pop of color. It is not only accessories or clothing that help add color to an all-black ensemble; make-up can work as an easy and subtle way to brighten it up. Pucker up in different rosy hues like red or pink lipstick and wear it with a classic black A-line dress.

TYING THE KNOT It is not only women, men too are fascinated by fairy-tales. We are too accustomed to think that there is one right person to everyone. That everyone eventually meets the person who would deliver us from life’s wounds back to a serene life. Opposites attracts. It’s not just a myth. We naturally fall for someone who is a little different from us, as we are drawn out of need and desires that are unfulfilled in our lives, such as connection, security, love, support, and comfort. To fulfill these longings, we seek opposite traits in others such as adventure, freedom, risk, challenge and intensity. Applying the Goldilocks’ rule, differences can be fatal if the two people are too different from each other. We don’t want anything which is “too hot” or “too cold”. Normally the equilibrium in the intensity of attraction is determined by both before deciding to tie the knot. A marriage is marked by intense attraction and infatuation,

So why is she pointing it out now as an excuse? If they talk it out, maybe they can work out something to change his behavior. If he “hate” when he has “to watch the matches alone on TV”, then it’s time he talks to her and let her know how he feels and what he wants. Every human is a complex being. It is not easy to understand ourselves too. But instead of taking time to looking at ourselves, or understanding the fantasies that bring us to such a pass, we tend to point fingers to blame the other for making us unhappy. What actually is happening, or has been happening since we begin to look for a partner is based on our own insecurity of having someone else to make our life complete. It’s high time we realize other people are not to blame for our own expectations. Psychologists agree that people portraying behavior
WE ARE ALL FLAWED With our own children we try so hard to be the best parent, learn what is best for us and constantly tells ourselves that we need to learn. We try and try, every day. bad. Everyone comes with a package! The bad comes with the good. Marriage is not about finding the right person. It’s about becoming the right person. Many people when their expectations are not met, feel they married the wrong person, but try to see that as a sign to grow yourself. It’s a sign from our own body earning for our own attention to understand our needs and wants. It’s how we become a better spouse.

STRATEGICALLY EATING LESS DROPS WEIGHT A study of 811 overweight people who participated in four popular diets found that whether diets were low-fat, high-protein, or a combination didn’t matter — weight-loss success depends on cutting out calories. In fact, you can continue to eat filling portions if you simply replace high-calorie foods with low-calorie foods that contain a lot of water, such as fruits and vegetables. A study of 97 obese women who ate either a low-fat diet or a low-fat diet with additional fruits and vegetables found that those who emphasized fruits and veggies lost up to five pounds more.

raising awareness about various social issues… the stories are all universal and connected to each of our lives; the songs are based on jealousy, hatred, unfairness, injustice, humanity, unity, peace & love. It’ll be released by the end of this year, insha allah, so wait and see what it’s all about. My fans can relate it to a saying of mine: By disrespecting others you surely cannot gain respect, and the best thing is to help each other with pure love & humanity instead of hatred & jealousy. Let’s not try to destroy each other in this sinful nature… perhaps let’s unite together as a family and make a bond of peace & love for the sake of humanity. V: Choose three of your original singles as your personal favorites.
R: Easy. First, I’m very happy with ‘Oagaavaashey’. Then there’s ‘Ley Kokaa’ which I performed recently at the Eid Show. It carries strong messages really good for the society and everybody… it’s truly a universal song speaking subtly of vindictiveness and hypocrisy. Here’s the chorus of the song:
“ZAATHY KAMEY DHUNIYEYGAI VANY, GAAI KAMEH NOAVEY,
ALIMAHEH FADHAIN VIDHAMUN DHAA KOKAA… LEY BONEE SIRRUGAI” For the third song, I’d choose ‘Emmen’, which is a song of unity, harmony, peace and love. V: Music… what does it mean to you? R: Wow, I don’t even know how to explain what music means to me! Music! You see, music is my life. My entire life is interwoven with music. In every move, every mood, and every step - I carry music with me every second of my life. I cannot live without music.

CLUTTER increases STRESS & decreases PRODUCTIVITY! To help you organize your home our Interior Designer, Seema Ahmed has put together some practical tips to de-clutter your personal space to make it more liveable. Interior experts say that the major reasons behind every cluttered household is the lack of organization and decision. This is especially true for people who find sentimental reasons to hold on to old stuff. It’s not a bad thing, but old pieces certainly end up in disorganized piles of items in the store room or in your cupboards.

The house did not get cluttered overnight, and it will not get de-cluttered overnight. This goal to have a clutter free home may seem unattainable right now, but you can do it in little pieces. In a couple of months, the whole house will be de-cluttered. De-cluttering Equipment: You will need garbage bags, boxes, magic markers, and a dust rag. Label the boxes “Give Away,” “Throw Away,” and “Put Away.” Line the “Throw Away” box with a plastic garbage bag. Set your time for one hour (or 30, 15, or 10 minutes — it doesn’t matter how long).
