In addition to Dr. De Hoyos, LightPort Physical Therapy & Spa® has four employees who provide physical therapy and therapeutic massage services. They include a manager, a physical therapy assistant, a licensed massage therapist, and a setup aide. The team treats primarily orthopedic problems, musculoskeletal issues, neuromuscular conditions resulting from Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke, through physical therapy and targeted massage techniques. They also work on issues related to prosthetics, such as knee and hip replacements, before and after surgery, and throughout the recovery period. “We treat any movement problem caused by injury to muscles and joints,” says Dr. De Hoyos. Dr. De Hoyos has specific goals to ensure maximum recovery for each patient to return to work or sports with no limitations. To achieve this goal, the team first educates the patient. “We make sure they understand their injury, the recovery process, and ease their fears. Patients have a home exercise program during and after recovery,” he states. Patients praise the responsiveness of LightPort Physical Therapy & Spa®. When arriving for appointments, patients are seen immediately upon arrival, with little or no wait time.
