WINTER ADVENTURES
E N J O Y S O M E O F T H E D R I E S T P O W D E R I N T H E P A C I F I C N O R T H W E S T. Around here, many people live for winter recreation. Fortunately, Redmond is just a hop, skip and epic trail away from some of the best winter fun in the West. From September to November, the temperature varies from a high of 75°F to a low of 26°F, so early-season winter adventures will generally be enjoyed in the higher elevations of the Cascades. From December to February, however,

winter spreads throughout the High Desert. Expect comfortable, outdoorfriendly temperatures from highs that can often reach the 40s to lows that dip into the 20s and teens — although the mercury occasionally drops below zero. The mostly dry climate in our region provides an abundance of beautiful sunny skies, while you enjoy snowshoeing, skiing, or any other activity in the snow.
HOODOO
Mt. Bachelor is one of the premier ski resorts in the world, and the training grounds for many Olympic hopefuls and medal winners. The mountain features downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing and more. The resort offers 3,683 acres of terrain, 3,365 feet of vertical drop and 71 runs, ranging from double black diamonds to easy green runs for first timers. Learn more about options and events at www. mtbachelor.com. (Redmond is only a 50-minute drive to the nearest chairlift).
Hoodoo offers more than 1,100 feet of vertical ski runs to challenge all levels. Five chair lifts service 30 runs, and you should try night skiing for a truly memorable experience! One of the many highlights of Hoodoo is the Autobahn Tube Area located at the base of Hayrick Butte. Hoodoo provides the tubes, the tow, and the runs. Learn more at www.hoodoo.com. (40 minutes away).
