WTA Sports Awards 2021

Welcome Welcome to the Wairarapa Times-Age Sports Awards. Covid-19 has, again, wreaked havoc on hosting an awards evening and we made the hard decision to not proceed with the Awards night. While the coronavirus made hosting an Awards evening impossible, it certainly does not take away from the raft of achievements that our sports people, administrators and volunteers have accomplished over the last couple of years. As a locally owned newspaper, we take our role of reporting sport seriously. We know how important sport is to you and strive to serve up a healthy dose of sport in every issue. Six days a week, we recognise and celebrate local sport – the wins, the close calls, and the disappointment of losing. These Awards are about celebrating the successes of our region’s top sportspeople over the past two years. The Awards also recognise the huge contributions made by sports administrators, clubs, and the hundreds of volunteers who give their time for free to make all this possible. Together, with the tremendous support of local businesses, we are incredibly proud to celebrate local success on and off the field again this year. We congratulate all finalists. Look out for the winners in the Times-Age next week.
