Robo Battles curriculum is designed to introduce students to the world of not only building, but also programming basic robots. The challenge facing robotics engineers is that the robot knows only what is written into the program and the design of the robot must also be capable of performing the task at hand. In this unit, students will experience both the designing and programming roles of being a robotics engineer. The students will explore different ways in which a robot could be utilized to engage in various battle challenges in a less competitive environment. Lessons include, tug of war, sumo bots, tanks and more. Instructor: Engineering for Kids
For more information, please contact Evan Smith at Evan.Smith@williamsoncounty-tn.gov
During Out of this World camp, students will explore three fields of engineering: aerospace, civil, and chemical. Collaborating with their Space State teams, they will design and construct a variety of projects that will enable mankind to safely inhabit the moon. Instructor: Engineering for Kids

Join us in an apocalyptic future, one where the earth has been ravaged by a series of natural disasters. Each day, students rely on the engineering design process to solve a series of challenges such as building a city on islands, escaping from a bunker on Mt. Everest, and even building a rocket to land on the moon! Through application of engineering principles, students solve numerous challenges as they make their virtual world of Minecraft a safe place for humanity once again. Instructor: Engineering for Kids
For more information, please contact Evan Smith at Evan.Smith@williamsoncounty-tn.gov
A robot is a device that is designed and programmed to perform a task either autonomously or with human input. Robots typically come in two forms: those resembling humans or role-specific robots, such as NASA space probes and Mars Rovers. Robots are generally used to perform either dangerous or monotonous tasks. The challenge facing robotics engineers is that the robot knows only what is written into the program. The design of the robot must also be capable of performing the task at hand. In this unit, students will experience both the designing and programming roles of being a robotics engineer. Instructor: Engineering for Kids

Welcome to our Robotics Camp! Do you think you can build the best battle robot? In this week-long program, campers will have the chance to build and customize their very own robots using DC and servo motors, switches, LEDs, IR sensors, and wired and wireless controllers. Each day, campers will build two different robots and have the opportunity to test them out in a variety of fun robot games and battles. After we tackle these basic robotic components, we’ll dive into creating a self-driving bot and learn how to code our robots in Scratch. We’ll then challenge the young engineers to write the code to get their bots through multiple challenges all while keeping if fun! With a focus on hands-on learning and problem-solving, this camp is perfect for kids who are interested in robotics and engineering. Get ready for an action-packed week full of robot building and battling in this camp and may the best bot win! Instructor: RoboThink Staff.
