800 Trees Planted to offset Carbon This month, climate action Wendover would like to say a big Thank You to residents who volunteered their time during April to dig and plant 800 saplings. The Woodland Trust supplied a mix of hazel, dog rose, crab apple and blackthorn, all native species and nut/berry producing that were planted around the perimeter of the old skate park. As this hedging matures, it will contribute towards an increase in biodiversity, provide much needed food for insects and butterflies as well as sequester carbon from the atmosphere to help reduce Wendover’s Carbon Footprint. With a continued focus on increasing biodiversity during May, you may have spotted our volunteers on the Manor Waste handing out wildflower seeds. With a large percentage of Wendover’s green space
