uperheroes, Legos, and a Tyrannosaurus Rex are among the fun and festive activities waiting young and old alike in and around Paris for a summer of fun. Take a spin on a Speed Rocket in the Bois de Boulogne at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, go on a fossil hunt around the Museum of Natural History or enjoy a night-time stroll through the zoo. The Enchanted River boat ride, the Little Train that wends through the woods and exotic birds are among the panorama of attractions for the visitor in the Bois de Boulogne at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the oldest theme park in France, founded in 1860, and inaugurated by Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie. The park and garden have recently been renovated and updated while those tried and true attractions remain with five new spaces to discover. Among the new attractions are a host of fun and exciting rides with evocative names like Speed Rockets, Flying Chairs, the Steam Machine and the Clock Tower and for hot summer days there are plenty of cooling water attractions including a wading pool and highly refreshing water misters. There are also indoor activities in the event of inclement weather including a magic show and a cinema, and visitors can recharge themselves in one of the venue’s 12 eateries, including a vegan food truck. Walks wending through the greenery and on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne woodlands have also been put into place offering a discovery of regional flora. In Marne-la-Vallée the wonderful world of Disneyland Paris continues to celebrate its 25th birthday in style. This summer the superheroes of Marvel are taking centre stage through to September 30th bringing a resounding finish to the park’s 25th birthday celebrations. Iron Man, Captain America,
Thor, Black Widow, Star-Lord, Gamora and Spider-Man are all on hand for shows and a host of activities allowing visitors to interact with their favourite heroes. The show, The Superheroes Alliance, is being played out in the Studio Theater in the heart of the Parc Walt Disney Studios featuring a fullcast of superheroes and cutting-edge special effects. The 20-minute long show revolves around the themes of origins, duality and alliance. Also on the agenda is Tony Stark, of Iron Man fame, who is presenting in the Production Courtyard at the foot of the Hollywood Tower Hotel his latest revolutionary invention, an Arc Reactor. Meanwhile, other events include Dancing with the Guardians of the Galaxy and meeting in person Captain America. On the eastern edge of town the Parc de la Villette is bursting with a host of indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family. The Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in the Parc de la Villette is home to a host of interactive displays and permanent and temporary exhibitions revolving around the sciences. This summer an educational show devoted to fire is on offering up insight into something that has fascinated man from the dawn of time. Entitled Feu (Fire), the ambitious exhibition, running through to January 6th, brings together a host of objects, interactive displays and experiences as well as audio-visual and multi-media installations exploring fire and man’s relationship to it. Every day, except Mondays, through to August 12th, visitors can attend a demonstration on firefighting by the members of the National Prevention and Protection Centre. Also on at the Cité des Sciences in its Science News venue is an educational exhibition devoted to soccer running through to October 14th. Entitled Football as Seen by Science, the show takes a look at the ball itself as an object of science and technology. Also located in the Parc de la Villette is the Espace Chapiteau de la Villette, where a fun and enticing exhibition featuring Legos and DC Super Heroes is being played out through to August 19th. Entitled The Art of the Brick DC Super Heroes, the show plunges the visitor into the heart of the magical worlds of DC comics and Lego®. Created by Nathan Sawaya, the show stretches out over 2000 square metres spaced out in 11 sequences (including one devoted to the Batcave) and uses 2 million Lego® bricks in 120 monumental statues inspired by the DC universe. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Green Lantern are all on hand along with a gigantic Batmobile built with 489,019 bricks. Meanwhile, young and old alike can concoct their own refreshing frozen yogurt sundae, known as a FroYo at the Yogurt Factory located at Vill’Up right inside the Parc de la Villette close to the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie. On the other side of the La Villette park in the Grande Halle de la Villette you can step into dream-like, immersive and highly visual installation works w w w. p a r i s m a p. fr 17

For an additional foray into the natural world, the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, the national Museum of Natural History, is celebrating palaeontology and the 120th birthday of its palaeontology gallery this year and is presenting an exceptional full skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex discovered in the United States in 2013, through to September 2nd. This 67-million year-old female specimen, who goes by the name of Trix, is being presented inside the Museum’s Mineralogy and Geology gallery. The exhibit entitled A T. Rex in Paris, takes a look at the world as it was 67 million years ago in the Cretaceous period, and offers a film of the excavation by the team from the Naturalis Biodiversity Center of Leiden in the Netherlands who unearthed the specimen, followed by the spectacular skeleton itself and a host of displays and interactive experiences. Don’t miss the video on how to seduce a T. rex or the realistic 3D hatching of a dinosaur egg. You can also take a fossil tour throughout the beautiful grounds of the Museum’s Botanical and Zoological Gardens, just pick up the guide and game booklet, for free, at the exhibition and make sure you hold onto your tickets to enjoy the excavation site that has been set up on the grounds.

For some wild adventures, head to the Parc Zoologique de Paris in the Bois de Vincennes. The zoological park showcases in 16 natural environments some 1000 animals, including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and fish representing 180 species. It is a highly diversified collection ranging from predators to colourful birds and a host of frog and lizard species. SHOPPING For Him
Inspired by Romance Maison Kitsuné’s spring/summer collection for him, Last Exit to Romance, brings gentlemen a colourful wardrobe of classic cuts and fun prints to celebrate the last days of summer. Inspired by the imaginary city of Romance, the collection includes tan shorts, printed cotton sweatshirts with embroidered lovebirds and straight leg pants with a drawstring waist, bringing a little bit of sport cool to the city of Romance. - S.I. Maison Kitsuné 52 rue de Richelieu (1st), 01 42 60 34 28
The house of F.P. Journe has brought out the Tourbillon Régence in the Tourbillon Souverain line. This striking, highly precise tourbillon watch is outfitted with a circular hand-engraved Régence dial and the timepiece has been brought out in a limited edition of just 20 watches. Watchmaker François-Paul Journe, who launched his watch brand in 1999 with the Tourbillon Souverain, the first model in the Souveraine Collection, was always fascinated by the 18th century, which remains for him as the golden age in measuring time and the Régence Circulaire pattern pays tribute to the clockmakers and craftsmen of the 18th century and draws the inspiration for its geometrical patterns from the Régence era. The hand engraving of the white gold dial with silver guilloche requires two days to complete and is done by a craftswoman in Geneva. The manually winding watch has a calibre F.P. Journe 1403 movement in 18-carat pink gold and is enclosed in an 18-carat red gold case. - P.V. F.P. Hair Salons & Spas
A Beauty Pause The Cut Shop Beauty Concept hair salon is one of the coolest addresses in Paris to get your hair done. The vibe is fun, the stylists warm and always with a smile. The plus here is that the hairdressers aren’t scissor-happy meaning that if you just want a clean trim you will not walk out with a short bob instead. And the real expertise here is the hair treatments, with the stylists working through your tresses hair masks that target your mane. The bespoke treatments mean that if you have coloured hair, and dry ends and lacklustre hair, the hairdresser will work in two different masks targeting your problem areas, very similar to how zone face masks work. And courtesy of L’Atelier de Maquillage you can get a mani/pedi and your make-up done while you’re getting your hair cared for, giving you a real princess moment. - S.I. Cut Shop 94 rue Montmartre (2nd), 01 40 26 87 23
The Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie has just added a mummy and me treatment to its menu thanks to its collaboration with Bonpoint. Bonpoint, the high-end fashion brand for children has cleverly worked with the spa to create spa treatments using its already popular skincare products for children. Inviting parents and children to the spa allows for a memorable moment to be shared in the French capital, and a very relaxing one as well. The treatments include facials and body massages to be enjoyed for 25 or 55 minutes. - S.I. A Tale in Tapestries Masterpieces of weaving fashioned during the past 100 years are on display in the Galerie des Gobelins at the Mobilier National to commemorate the end of World War I. Striking tapestries made on the looms of the Manufactures des Gobelins, de Beauvais, de la Savonnerie and d’Aubusson have been brought together from the rich collections of the Mobilier National for this show entitled Over the Century, 1918-2018, Masterpieces of Tapestry Making. The show aims to take a look at the major changes over the course of a century on artistic, sociological, political and technical levels. The Manufactures have over the century worked with leading artists among them Denis, Matisse, Picasso, Delaunay, Dufy, and Vasarely with the tapestries woven versions of their art works. The show brings together some 100 tapestries, carpets, drawings and furniture underscoring the creativity and the exceptional know-how of the Manufactures. - P.V. A Visit with Van Dongen The Bateau-Lavoir, made famous by Picasso who painted his Demoiselles of Avignon there, would be a cradle of modern art where some of the greatest artists of the early 20th century, like Derain, Vlaminck and Matisse would live, create and exchange ideas. A young Dutch painter Kees van Dongen lived there from the end of 1905 to the beginning of 1907 and an exhibition at the charming Musée de Montmartre Jardins Renoir entitled Van Dongen and the Bateau-Lavoir is showcasing the artist’s work during this period, revealing a colourful and modern array of circus performers, dancers, portraits and local scenes. The show aims to illustrate the extent to which his brief stay there had such a decisive influence on his subsequent career through a selection of some 65 significant works presented in a chronological order that represent this period. - P.V. Guerlain, A Celebration This year the house of Guerlain is celebrating its 190th anniversary and as the founding of the house almost coincides with the birth of photography, Nicéphore Niépce took that pioneering photograph circa 1826, the house asked eight artists to evoke key perfumes in its history using photographic techniques that were contemporary to each of the periods in which they were brought out. For example Eau de Cologne Impériale, dedicated to the future Empress Eugénie in 1853, corresponds to a time when the wet collodion printing procedure, allowing for photographs of great precision, was in use. The house commissioned contemporary photographer Jean-Baptiste Sénégas to evoke the perfume using this technique. The 1965 fragrance for men Habit Rouge is represented through snapshot photography in a poignant diptych by Maud Chalard evoking the equestrian world. The photographs are being presented in an exhibition entitled CXC (Roman numeral for 190), Contemporary Echoes, on the mezzanine level of the house’s legendary Champs-Elysées boutique along with period photographs and works and documents recounting the house’s history. - P.V.
A Feast of Feinstein The streets, buildings and businesses of Manhattan in the 1960s to the 1980s are revealed in the landmark photographs of the American photographer Harold Feinstein in an exhibition entitled Graciously Yours at the Galerie Thierry Bigaignon, which is presenting 21 of his photographs. The photographer had a knack for capturing the beautiful in everyday movements and gestures for in the streets of New York, Feinstein seemed to have seen only beauty, grace and elegance be it in smoke-filled coffee shops, store windows, subway cars, Times Square or the streets of Harlem. These black and white photographs record for eternity the everyday life of a host of New Yorkers. Harold Feinstein used to describe his images as “a small sampling of [his] photographic journey bearing witness of the beauty and mystery of this human life.” - P.V.

Art of Exile An intriguing exhibition exploring a little-known aspect of the Impressionists is being played out at the Petit Palais, the city’s fine arts museum. Entitled The Impressionists in London, French Artists in Exile, 1870-1904, the show brings together works by French artists living in exile in London during the Franco-German War of 1870 and the insurrection of the Commune. The show brings together some 140 works, by among others Monet, Pïssarro, Rodin and Sisley on loan from a host of French and foreign museums. The exhibition, set out in a chronological fashion, presents, for example, Monet’s dream-like view of the House of Parliament seemingly floating on water, Camille Pissarro’s bucolic rendition of the rhododendrons of Kew Gardens as well as André Derain’s boldly coloured Big Ben. - P.V. The Centre Pompidou is paying tribute to one of the great humanist photographers, Sabine Weiss, in an exhibition bringing together nearly 80 vintage photographs of street scenes, most of which have never been exhibited before. The exhibition, entitled Sabine Weiss, the Cities, the Street, the Other One, spans the years from 1945 to 1960 and includes a recent and significant donation made by the photographer to the Centre Pompidou. The photographs in the exhibition reflect daily life in, among elsewheres, Paris, New York, Madrid and Moscow, offering a realistic portrait of life in the various places, such as a Parisian shop window with shoes, a woman selling chips in the streets of Paris, and a man nonchalantly eating cotton candy in New York. Particularly poignant and revealing are her photographs of Paris where the Swiss-born photographer established herself after the armistice. - P.V. The Harmony of Harcourt The legendary Parisian photography studio, Studio Harcourt, known for its perfectly lit black and white still photography is presenting a timely exhibition devoted to Generation Y. The 84-year-old house is presenting an array of portraits of young talents who have succeeded in their respective fields at a very young age. Entitled Génération Y, à l’épreuve de l’art (Generation Y, in Art Prints), the show brings together a host of young talents whose portraits have been taken in Harcourt’s celebrated style with lighting drawing its inspiration from the movies of the 1930s. Athletes, actors, artists and scientists, the subjects are still at the very beginning of their already successful careers. World boxing champion Maïva Hamadouche, actor Vincent Lacoste and Olivier Rousteing, the artistic director of Balmain, are among the 60 portraits of Generation Y stars, captured by Harcourt. - P.V. Urban and Outdoor Art Street Art Avenue is a joyful on-going outdoor art show running all along the Saint-Denis canal from the La Villette Park in Paris to the Stade de France stadium in Saint-Denis. It was initiated in 2016 for the Euro football tournament, which was held in France, and each year new works of art are added to this long-term project. For its third year running, five new works have been commissioned to decorate three superb facades found along the Saint-Denis canal joining the 20 or so works that are already there. Myriad techniques of urban street art are represented in the at times monumental works including graffiti, tagging, collages and stencils. - P.V. Another Cuisine Takeover Talented young chef Mathieu Pacaud, the son of Bernard Pacaud of the Michelin three star L’Ambroisie, has taken over Apicius, one of the most elegant power tables in Paris and given it an alluring new menu and a charming new décor by the celebrated interior designer François-Joseph Graf. Graf, who also designed the famous Hôtel La Mirande in Avignon and the décor for L’Ambroisie, was inspired by the Louis XV architecture of the handsome Hôtel de Talhouët-Roy, a limestone mansion that was built in 1860 for the Marquis Auguste de Talhouët-Roy. Similarly, Pacaud rewrote the restaurant’s menu to make it fresher, lighter and more market-driven. Dishes that express Pacaud’s sensibility include a wonderful salad of grilled and raw summer squash with girolles and fresh almonds in a sauce of Tomme de Brebis cheese, John Dory filets with caponata with lime oil, lobster from the Chausey islands with green beans, fresh almonds and a sauce of vin jaune, and lamb with aubergine cannelloni and caviar smoked with cumin. Don’t miss the superb chocolate soufflé for dessert. – Alexander Lobrano Apicius 20 rue d’Artois (8th), 01 43 80 19 66

Fun Chaos Meaning chaos in Israeli Hebrew, Balagan is also the name of one of Paris’s most popular restaurants. Celebrating its oneyear anniversary of its opening back in June, the restaurant doesn’t seem to be losing any of its popularity amongst Parisians and international visitors. Balagan serves a colourful menu of deconstructed Israeli cuisine, including a refreshing Fatoush salad with feta and labneh cheese, roasted eggplant served with a dollop of tomato sauce and creamy tahini, and Mahshi, cabbage leaves stuffed with tzatziki and goat cheese. While the food here is delicious, it is the atmosphere that has really put this eatery on everyone’s radar. The staff here is great and sporadically break out into song and dance with blaring music in the background throughout the evening. And with the restaurant the official eatery of the Renaissance Paris Vendôme hotel, it is open all through the month of August unlike some other restaurants in Paris, and a cocktail menu put together by the same guys behind the Experimental Cocktail Club, Balagan is a great suggestion for a fun night out in the City of Light this month. – S.I. Modern Bistro Dining Perfectly situated between the Louvre museum and the boutiques under the Canopée des Halles, the Baltard au Louvre restaurant is the ideal address for an al fresco lunch or dinner in the French capital during the summer months thanks to its sprawling terrace and great food. Overlooking the Saint-Eustache church, you can enjoy sharing plates of French dishes that have been given a contemporary twist by young chef Ewout Vranckx while enjoying the delightful sunshine. The modern bistro fare is served in convivial sharing plate style and includes fresh green asparagus from Provence, seared foie gras seasoned with lemon and satay sauce served with quinoa, and roasted duck served with a garlic sauce. And with a wine cellar boasting 150 different wines you will be hard pressed not to find the perfect wine to pair with your meal. – S.I. Baltard au Louvre 9 rue Coquillière (1st), 09 83 32 01 29
Founded in 1626 as a garden for medicinal plants, the Jardin des Plantes in the 5th arrondissement is one of the most charming green spaces in Paris. This summer with the opening of Les Belles Plantes, a stylish brasserie with 18th century botanical print wallpaper and several terraces furnished with wicker chairs, it’s also become a delightful place for a casual meal in a sylvan setting. Start with some terrine de campagne or maybe burrata with tomatoes and basil or sea bream ceviche, and then tuck into one of their meal-sized salads or roast chicken with sautéed courgettes, tuna with a lime-and-ginger sauce and ratatouille, or some steak tartare with very good fries. Desserts include crème brûlée, strawberry-rhubarb tart and cheesecake, among other sweet possibilities, and the Domaine Mosconi Corsican rosé is a fine choice for summer drinking from a wine list with a good selection of quaffs by the glass. – A.L. Summer Dates Zebra, a popular brasserie across the street from the Maison de la Radio in the 16th arrondissement, has had a chic makeover, including a terrazzo floor, a striking red marble bar and a ceiling full of individual suspended brass candle lamps. With a spacious terrace, it’s ideal for summer dining, especially since the menu offers an appealing array of beautifullymade contemporary French comfort food dishes made from first-rate seasonal produce. Start with some grilled razorshell clams with herb butter or mackerel escabeche, and then tuck into hake with aioli (garlic mayonnaise) and baby vegetables, a steak au poivre, roast chicken or a freshly chopped steak tartare. Desserts are made by talented young pastry chef Fleur Guinaudeau and include baba au kirsch with cherry compote and whipped cream, apricot tart, and a superb hazelnut millefeuille. Bistro Dining Rising rents in the centre of Paris mean that it’s sometimes difficult to find a good affordable casual French meal in some of the city’s most visited neighbourhoods. This is why Jacopo, a new bistro just off the Champs-Elysées, has become such a hit since it opened a few months ago. With a menu conceived by chef Thibault Sombardier, who has a Michelin star at the excellent seafood restaurant Antoine, this place eschews the usual look of Paris bistros for a streamlined modern décor but offers up a gently priced menu of good Gallic grub. Start with the steamed artichoke with vinaigrette sauce or the terrine of the day, and then try the succulent and richly flavoured blanquette de veau (veal in cream sauce with pearl onions and mushrooms), a steak, or the chicken in a jus enriched by lardons (chunks of bacon). The lemon tart is the dessert not to miss, and the least expensive bottles of wine on the wine list are all good drinking. – A.L. The Brits are Here The name of this new Paris brasserie specialising in British cooking made with the best French produce winks at a famous treaty signed by France and Great Britain in 1904. The Entente Cordiale was a diplomatic agreement, which adjusted the colonial disputes between the two countries, and paved the way for Anglo-French co-operation against German expansion in Europe and in the colonial world. Knowing that the French view gastronomy as an important diplomatic tool, the ambitions of this handsome new place, L’Entente, with a great location in the heart of town are more culinary than geo-political, but British ex-pat Oliver Woodhead is a man with a mission, which is showcasing the excellence of contemporary British, and traditional, cooking to see off the lingering and very out-dated idea among the French that one doesn’t eat well in the United Kingdom. It’s working a charm, too, since the restaurant has rapidly become a favourite canteen of the city’s fashion crowd, including designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs. Coming for lunch or dinner, start with a salad of Stilton cheese, toasted walnuts and apples or maybe some smoked Scottish salmon, and then tuck into shepherd’s pie, fish cakes with sorrel sauce or maybe an entrecote with chips (frites) and anchovy butter before finishing up with a selection of British cheeses from Paxton’s in London or some apple crumble. They also serve a terrific weekend brunch, which includes dishes like porridge with prunes soaked in Earl Grey tea and scrambled eggs with black pudding. – A.L. When La Poule au Pot opened in a side street near Les Halles in 1935, the French capital’s main food market was just down the street. This explained its late serving hours, a mix of market workers and glamorous after-hours night owls stopped by to sample its famous namesake dish, chicken poached in its own stock with vegetables, and partake in its wine-fuelled conviviality. Now this legendary address has a new owner, Michelin two-star chef Jean-François Piège, who says that when he learned this legendary address was for sale he knew immediately he wanted to buy it. “It’s an authentic old-fashioned bistro with a lot of history and a great atmosphere,” says the chef. He rewrote the menu, too, as a testament to the “great cuisine bourgeoise (classical French cooking)” he ate as a boy while growing up in the Rhone Valley city of Valence. Among the wonderful old-fashioned dishes to try here are oeufs mimosa, stuffed hard-cooked eggs garnished with riced egg yolk, chives and crackling, frog’s legs in garlic butter and poached turbot with Hollandaise sauce. The dessert not to miss is the sampler plate of three tarts, apple, blackberry and chocolate. The restaurant is open daily. – A.L. Al Fresco Drinks Le Perchoir de l’Est is back for another season and in turn has made many Parisians happy. The Le Perchoir bars are famous for offering guests magnificent views of the City of Light with the BHV Marais rooftop bar serving up a front row seat to the Hôtel de Ville, the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame, and here at the Gare de l’Est locale the backdrop is a confidential perspective of one of the oldest train stations in the city. Perched above the station, the bar is romantically located under the Eiffel rose window and looks onto one of the entrances to the busy station, creating quite the people-watching spot with travellers spotted coming in and out of the station, setting an energetic atmosphere while cocktails are served. The bar, which is open only during the warmer season, is a wonderful spot for al fresco cocktails while surrounded by gorgeous bouquets of flowers, delicately breaking up an otherwise very bustling location. Le Perchoir de l’Est is open from 6pm, 4pm on Fridays and 2pm on the weekends. - S.I.

ADVERTORIAL
“Learning to be French through Comedy” As tourists or expats in Paris there are some quirks we have all noticed among the Parisians, the way they march to their destinations, their constant pouting and the way they order at restaurants. Olivier Giraud has too, noticed that the Parisians are unique in their behaviour, and has decided to bring all those idiosyncrasies to light. Born in Bordeaux, Olivier moved to Paris to study hotel management and after graduating he moved to the Unites States where he managed a restaurant of a 5-star hotel. After four years, and many soul-searching nights, he decided to return to France and follow his real dream of
becoming a comedian. Having experienced the cultural differences between the Parisians and Americans while in Florida, and having observed for himself the tourists of all nationalities in Paris, he decided to not shy away from the hardhitting questions of how one becomes a real Parisian. How do you grab a waiter’s attention in a café? In the metro, what do you do if you see an older lady or a pregnant woman? And how do you behave in a cab? Putting together a one man show, How to become a Parisian in one hour?, the stand-up comic will leave you rolling in your seat from laughter and 100% prepared
for any situation in the City of Light. The ultimate Parisian theatre experience created by Olivier Giraud! Enjoyed by more than 500 000 spectators, this show is much more than a stand-up comedy! It’s a hilarious, incisive and visual observation of the Parisian behaviour! Performed 100% in English all year round in one of the most beautiful Italian Renaissance style theatres (600 seats) located in the lively heart of Paris... Ohlala! Non-stop laughter from a real Parisian guaranteed to leave you wanting more. This is THE PERFECT GUIDE to enjoy Paris and the Parisians!

Notre-Dame Cathedral
Musée Jacquemart-André
Paris is known around the world as the City of Light. What would you recommend visitors do in the evenings to really take in its beauty? Place du Trocadéro, to appreciate the view of the Eiffel Tower when it is lit up and gleaming every hour on the hour. The top of the stairs of Montmartre on a clear day, and maybe the best view of the capital is from the terrace of the Montparnasse Tower at the 59th floor so you can see the Eiffel Tower and the whole city under your feet. As a culinary capital what are three of your favourite restaurants that you would recommend our readers to try? On the Left Bank, Allard, the typical bistro of world famous chef Alain Ducasse. Near Invalides, l’Auberge Bressanne, for typical Lyonnais and Bresse cuisine, and a friendly atmosphere. On the Right Bank, Nomicos, for chef Jean Louis Nomicos’s creative cuisine with a Mediterranean touch.
Nomicos
men and women of France. The Invalides with its golden dome where Emperor Napoléon is buried. If our readers wanted to spend their day shopping, would you recommend they do so on the Right Bank or the Left Bank? On the Right Bank, stroll around the area that encompasses Rue de Faubourg SaintHonoré, Place de la Madeleine and also the famous department stores Printemps and Galeries Lafayette. There is also Rue de la Paix and Place Vendôme, where you can stop by Cédric Grolet’s pastries shop, and don’t forget the chic Avenue Montaigne. What would be the most romantic date in the capital of romance? Make a wish with a glass of Champagne on the pedestrians-only bridge Le Pont des Arts or on the Alexandre III bridge at night when the Eiffel Tower is lit up, followed by a dinner in one of the city’s most romantic restaurants, Lasserre.
What are you favourite cocktail bars in the city? The historical Hemingway bar at the Ritz, where Colin Field will make his incredible Serendipity cocktail. One of the most beautiful and elegant bars is at Hotel Raphael as well as its rooftop bar, perfect for sunny days. And Club of Maison Astor to enjoy unique mixology cocktails. Brunch and high tea are Sunday favourites, where would you suggest to our readers to enjoy the best treats? The must for me is the brunch at the Peninsula hotel, my favourite high tea is at the Ritz in the Salon Proust with the memorable delights of the Madeleine cakes and exceptional teas.
My Perfect Day 9am: Breakfast at Carette at Place du Trocadéro for its smooth hot chocolate and then visit the Musée Jacquemart-André 12pm: Lunch at Benoit

What would you recommend for families to discover while visiting the French capital? The City of Science and Industry in the park of La Villette, the wax museum Musée Grévin, Paris’s Zoo, which reopened after being totally renovated.
