VIEW FROM THE HILL Today we welcome all our Family League supporters to Mt Burr for today's cut-throat 1st semi-final. Winners today will live to play another day, whilst for the losers they can put their boots away and contemplate what might have been. Last week's matches were nothing to get excited about, the top four did what they needed to do to get the points against their bo om four opponents and in doing so no doubt put some polish on their game plans in readiness for the business end of the season. Down at Hatherleigh the home side were tested early in quite a compe ve match against Tantanoola, but a er half me, the Eagles put the foot down and easily accounted for the Tigers to the tune of 111pts, not the biggest margin of the day, but close. Hatherleigh's young guns con nue to shine and show a great deal of maturity that belies their years. Young Cameron Atkinson was one such player who from my perspec ve played a great role when he came on at full back against a much bigger and more experienced opponent. Sam Telfer led the goal kicking once again for the Eagles with 5, Louis Brown 4, Max Telfer and Mitch Pulmer 3, with James Telford, Darcy Bateman and Joe Ferguson-Lane all kicking 2, so they weren't short on fire power up forward. For Tantanoola Jack Dawe was their only mul ple goal kicker with 2. Best players and no surprises to see the first four being home bred colts now making their mark at senior level in Will Chay, Lewis Walker, Mitch Pulmer and Louis Brown, with slightly older home-grown talent in Sam Telfer and Jase Bateman rounding out Hatherleigh best. For Tantanoola Alec Roberts found some of his early season form to be named best with Jack Cytrowski, Roy Osborne, Darcy Pink and Jordan Ha other best players named for Tantanoola. Mt Burr made the trek to Robe to finish their season off and I would think they might be slightly disappointed in the way they ended the year. Take nothing away from Robe, they are a very well coached, well drilled side, but I would've expected Mt Burr to be a li le more compe ve than the score line suggests. Not unlike the game at Hatherleigh, Mt Burr were compe ve for a quarter, but then Robe put on the a er burners to outscore, outplay and out perform across all facets of the game to win by the closest margin of the day 53 points. Riley Dickinson and Jack Sneath were Robe's leading goal kickers with 3, with Billy Laurie and Jack Kelly contribu ng 2. Best for the home side went the way of their coach Jack Kelly, Kaden Woodward, Billy Laurie, Jordan Pe t and Jordan Hentschke. No mul ple goal kickers for Mt Burr, whilst best players went to their backline brigade in Sam, James and Josh Wallis, Taylor Allen, Brodie Gregory and Jack Gregory. Over at Glencoe a huge crowd was in a endance to see two arch rivals ba le it out, with a bit of silverware on the line, but more importantly pride and a huge amount of bragging rights. Glencoe got the jump on

their opponents early, kicking the first goal of the match, but Kalangadoo, as all good sides do, se led the play and got the game back on their terms. Kalangadoo con nually had numbers at the ball and their short kick, possession game was paying dividends on the scoreboard. Time and me again, Mitch Lowe set his team up from centre half back, and they weren't afraid to kick back to switch play and open up the space for their forwards to lead up. It was quite clear that each and every team member has a role to play, and they execute this with ease and great deal of familiarity. Glencoe did at mes try to match the wheel and go style of play, and to some degree this was successful, but at this point in me they just don't have the ca le on the park to match it with the top sides, and this was clearly evident on the weekend. Michael Krieger again had a field day in front of goal, kicking 9 to take out the League's leading goal kicking award with 70, Lachy Jones 5, Joshua LaRocca and Andrew Stone 2. No mul ple goal kickers for Glencoe, but they did hit a purple patch in the last quarter kicking 3-4 goals before Kalangadoo decided that they had toyed with them enough and kicked the next 5. Mitch Lowe for Kalangadoo was clearly BOG by a country mile, Ma Fatchen, Lachy Jones, Andrew Stone, Josh LaRocca and Michael Krieger were Kalangadoo official best players. For Glencoe Ben Hentschke was named their best with a serviceable game across half back, with other best players being Ben Swan, Dylan Childs, Jack Edmonds, and young colts Cameron Brooks and Will Maloney. With a second-semi final clash almost assured, Port MacDonnell travelled to Kongorong to contest the Lightbody Shield and they came away with the biggest winning margin of the round to the tune of 119pts. Port MacDonnell dominated the first quarter and with all their big guns firing they completely controlled the game to outscore Kongorong 6-9 to 0-0. This set the tone for the rest of the game, as Kongorong con nued to struggle to score, despite not hois ng the white flag and ba ling away to at least make Port MacDonnell work for the win. Put simply, Port MacDonnell were too big, too fast and too direct and went on to win 20-24 to 3-7. Young Brandon Newton again slipped under the radar of the defenders to lead the goal kicking with 6 followed by Kevin Thomson 5, Dylan Bromley 3 and Ned Wilke and Daron McElroy 2 each. For the home side, Carl Slape kicked 2 of his sides 3 goals for the day. Best for Port MacDonnell went the way of Thomson, Mark Smith, Wilke, Tim Sullivan, Nathan Brotherton and Zack Williams. Harry Evans, Aaron Lightbody, Brad Long, Jake Whi y, Ma Cordy and Mathew Weistra were selected as Kongorong best. Port MacDonnell captain Daron McElroy accepted the Lightbody Shield on behalf of his club, acknowledging the ongoing support of the Lightbody family. Well, to today's cracker game between

Hatherleigh and Robe. Both clubs have all four sides playing finals – an outstanding achievement by both clubs, but who will advance to the A Grade Prelim Final in a fortnight's me? In both matches this year Robe has taken the points by 30 and 26 points respec vely, so you would think that Robe would start favourites in todays match, but Hatherleigh are peaking just at the right me of the year and have got a number of their be er players fit and cherry ripe coming into this game. Hatherleigh's young brigade play with no fear, but this could also be their undoing if they play unaccountable footy and the older, wiser, cooler heads of Robe make them pay. Hatherleigh played at Mt Burr just the other week, so will have taken the me to familiarise themselves with the smaller oval and working out how they need to play to overcome a powerful Robe unit. Robe's forward line has been a li le unse led in the second half of the season as they try to find a forward structure that will take them deep into September, so it will be interes ng to see where the likes of Zac Deane and Jack Sneath line up. The head says Robe, the heart says Hatherleigh, it really is a toss of the coin situa on and I'm sure that we will witness a great show case of MSE footy this a ernoon. Quickly to the other three games today. In the Reserves Port MacDonnell take on Kalangadoo. The previous two encounters this year went the way of Port MacDonnell by 123pts (Kalangadoo didn't bother the scorers), but then Kalangadoo had their revenge in rnd 11 to claim the win by 10pts. Both sides have their fair share of ball winners, but I just think Port MacDonnell are close to full strength and will have too much experience for Kalangadoo. The Senior Colts should be a ripping match between Kongorong and Tantanoola with the current ledging si ng at one win apiece this year. Both sides have players that regularly played A Grade during the year and these boys have gone from strength to strength in the development of their skills and decision making. Kongorong come across as a slightly bigger bodied side, whereas Tantanoola rely on their quick, slick ball movement through the corridor. Both sides have junior finals experience so neither should be overawed with the occasion, so with a toss of a coin, the winner is Today’s Junior Colts match between Robe and Glencoe will be an interes ng one as these sides have only met once during the year in round 6. Robe were victors by 9 goals on this occasion so it is hard to see Glencoe closing this big a gap in the course of 6 months. Glencoe rely very heavily on 3-4 key players, whereas Robe are a fair more even side and their bo om six are probably a step in front of their Glencoe opponents and this is where most junior colt games are won or lost. Take nothing away from either side, they will both be out there to win the opportunity at a prelim final, but I can't see Glencoe bridging a 9goal gap from earlier in the year.

msena best & fairest PREVIEW 13 & Under The youngest of our compe ve grades – our 13's have had a great season, showing us that our future of netball is in safe hands. The top age players tend to poll well in this grade. Kalangadoo have been a standout in this grade and sit top of the ladder. Many talented girls in this team – who could poten ally steal votes from one another. Shayden Russell in goals and the midcourt will poll well, along with Alice Allen who can play either end. Maya Anderson also expected to take some votes. Hatherleigh who sit second, will be expec ng Kalli Ne le and Alex Haines to top their votes, Kalli a talented goalie who shoots accurately and Alex a tenacious defender playing mostly GD and GK this year. Nangwarry finished in third spot, with Kiara Ephia and Skye Virtanen expected to poll well. Both these girls play a combina on of C and GA and have plenty of ability between them. Mount Burr finished fourth and should poll some votes. Sara Smith and Kali Linnell (defence) have been consistent for the Mozzies, along with Tilly Gamble in goals. Port Mac finished 5th, expect to see Jasmine Morgan (GD) and Bella McLean (GA) poll well for the Demons. Glencoe have won a few games this year, but probably not enough to poll a lot of votes. Shae Tweddle and Ruby Buckley have been solid contributors for them. Robe, like Glencoe, have won a few games but probably not enough to poll many votes, Meg Schubert in the mid-court and Millie Fennell at GD should top the votes for the Roosters. Kongorong and Tantanoola sit on the bo om of the ladder so probably won't poll too many votes – for the Tigers, Molly Cushion who can play either end or mid-court should poll a few, along with Bethan Roberts in goals. For the Hawks, their leading vote ge ers will likely be Grace Altschwager and Holly A will.

15 & Under The 15 and Under compe on have had a standout top four, with the rest of the teams a fair way behind them. Mount Burr sit top of the ladder at the end of the minor round, they will be expec ng floa ng defender Abby Fal ng to poll well, along with teammates Jasmine Holland in goals and Jemma Bowering in goals or midcourt. Hatherleigh finished second on the ladder, they would expect Bella Poulish to poll well, along with Niah Faulkner. Bella can play either end, while Niah has had a

consistent year in goals. Kalangadoo have finished third on the ladder, Chloe Peacock will poll a lot of votes controlling the centre and taking many intercepts, while Ebony Wurst is a tough defender, also playing some mid-court when needed. Port Mac round out the four, Lara Wilson has had a consistent year in GS and shoots accurately. Sophie Lewis at centre for the Demons will also poll well, taking many intercep ons through the middle. Kongorong finished 5th but were a long way behind the top four. Evie Sealey (GA) would be expected to poll some votes for the Hawks, while teammate Jasmin McKinnon in defence may take some also. Tantanoola have won only a few games this year, expect Molly Cushion (GD), Holly Walker (GK) and Ebony Cytrowski (GA) to poll well in their wins. Robe are in a similar situa on, won a few games, Georgie Wirth (GA), and Ella Bermingham (C), expected to top the votes for the Roosters. Glencoe and Nangwarry sit at the bo om of the ladder in the 15's, Montanna Biggins and Cedar Sco expected to be the top vote ge ers for the Murphies, while Kaitlin Roisse er in goals for the Saints and Emily Timms in defence, should top the votes for Nangwarry.

17 & Under In our oldest junior grade, Hatherleigh sit on top of the ladder, having had a stellar season. They will be expec ng Lacey Haines (GA) to poll well, along with Elly Redden (GK). A lot of talent in this team, votes could be shared around. Kalangadoo have finished second on the ladder, another team oozing talent. Expect to see Shelby Ryan who plays either end, Holly Watson in defence and Sophie Wrightson through the mid-court all poll well. Mount Burr have finished third, they will pick up some votes with some strong performances. McKenzie Bevan playing in defence will poll well, along with teammates Jemma Hayward (GA) and Amelia Ballantyne in the midcourt. Robe round out the top four, Billie Carter (GD) and Ella Mackey (GA) have both had consistent season for the Roosters and should poll some votes. Pt Mac finished a close fi h on the ladder, Mackenzie Millard playing in the midcourt or defence will poll votes for the Demons, also expect Arriella Smith to poll some for the Bay a er a consistent season in defence. Glencoe won a handful of games this year and have some talented players that will poll votes. Expect Jorja Mitchell, Zoe Mulraney and Chelsea

Owen to all feature for the Murphies. Kongorong haven't had many wins this year, expect Kate Wright (C) and Isobel Jenkin (GK) to lead their votes. Tantanoola and Nangwarry finished at the bo om of the ladder, and may not poll many votes for this reason, but for the Tigers Tayla Rowe (defence), Madi Kelly (midcourt) and Keelie Lindner (GA) should be their top vote ge ers, while for the Saints, Skye Fox who plays either end, along with Skye Muller (goals) and Montana McKay in the mid-court should be their leading vote ge ers.

B RESERVE In the B Reserve compe on – Hatherleigh finished on top, following closely by Kalangadoo in second spot. For the Eagles, their top vote ge ers could come from either Staci Faulkner who has regularly featured in the best players, or Sally Bateman who has had a consistent season in the midcourt. For the Magpies, goalies Jodi Greenwood and Rhianna May are expected to poll well. Glencoe have finished in third spot on the ladder, Bri any Liebich and Kate Sealey expected to top their votes, while Port Mac finished fourth, they would expect tenacious defender Fiona Sco to poll well, along with Briodie Wilson through the centre. Mount Burr and Tantanoola have finished outside the four on equal points. For the Burr, Bec Fox in defence should poll some votes, along with goalies Karen Hayward and Amy Collyer. For the Tigers, Kim Ballintyne has had a consistent season in defence, while Tarrah Taylor should pick up some a er a solid season in the midcourt. Kongorong, Robe and Nangwarry complete the B Reserve ladder, not a lot of wins between them so may not poll too many votes. For Kongorong, their standouts have been Tamika Mullen and Ella Driscoll in goals, the pair may sneak some votes. For Robe, Alison Nunan in goals and Kiri Ma hews in defence should top their votes, while Nangwarry's Kate Clayfield in goals and midcourter Davina Shepherd should top the votes for the Saints.

B GRADE In the B Grade, Kalangadoo have been outstanding and sit top of the ladder. Their gutsy defence line of Nicole Reeves and Shanae Neale should top their votes. Glencoe have finished in second spot, with Chloe Watson and Samantha Brierly expected to poll well for the Murphies. Con nued next page

msena best & fairest PREVIEW Con nued from previous page Tantanoola have secured third spot, Nicole Rutkowski in goals and Kris e Rowe in the mid-court or defence should both poll well for the Tigers. Hatherleigh sits in fourth spot on the ladder, they would expect to see Nat Chambers (C) and Georgia Gray (GK/GS) poll well for the Eagles. Port Mac finished just outside the four, expect to see Kelly Millard and Natasha Sanderson poll well for the Demons. Mount Burr have won a handful of games, their leading vote ge ers expected to come from Kelly Gamble in defence, Larissa Wa s in goals or Brianna Scanlon in the midcourt. Kongorong, Robe and Nangwarry all finished in the bo om three on the B Grade ladder. While probably unlikely to poll many votes, Kongorong’s Brooke Holmes (GD) and Mahli Pannenburg (GS) should lead the way for the Hawks. Robe’s Kahlia Dening and goalie Marley Talbot might snare a few for the Roosters, while for the Saints mid-courter Tamara Ploenges and defender Jemma Glynn should top their votes.

A RESERVE The A Reserve compe on has been a ght one this year, with it coming down to the last round to decide who finished fourth on the ladder. Kalangadoo sit top of the ladder at the comple on of the minor round. The Magpies Ebony McDiarmid (GS/GA) gives plenty for the Magpies, she should poll well, along with teammate Kylie Schultz (GK) who turns over a lot of balls and will have caught the umpires eye. Glencoe have finished in second spot and should a couple of players to poll well – Jessie Gosden a strong driver and youngster Tameka Medhurst also having a consistent season. For the Tigers who finished in third spot, Lucy Barber and Georgia Clarke have been outstanding in defence, while Alana Fensom in the midcourt should also bring in some votes. Port Mac round out the top four, Holly Smith (GD,GK) takes numerous intercepts and has had a great season, while Megan Hein (GS, GA) has been strong for the Demons since her return a er having a baby. Kongorong narrowly missed out on a finals berth and have had some good performers that will poll well. Nat Fox is a brilliant defender with great hands, while Bri Fuller down the other end has played a consistent season in goals for the Hawks. Hatherleigh have finished just behind the Hawks with Lucy Corman and Lisa McGrath having good seasons in the midcourt, the pair should lead the votes for the

Eagles. Mount Burr haven't had a bad season, swapped a few players early on with A Grade, you would expect to see Layla Baker, Ella Fal ng and Heidi Eldridge poll some votes for the Mozzies. Nangwarry and Robe complete the A Reserve ladder, probably haven't won enough games to poll too many votes. For the Saints, Chrystal Lock in defence always gives her all and is a tough defender. Lock, along with Taysha James, should top the votes for the Saints. For Robe, a er losing some players to A Grade, you would expect Car er Borelli and Keelin Winterfield to snatch any votes for the Roosters.

A GRADE The ul mate award for the A Grade Best and Fairest could go to a few different players. Kalangadoo have been beyond amazing and finished the season undefeated – but will they have the problem of stealing votes from one another? Time will tell. Their defence line of Chelsea Croser and Mikaila Pi have been outstanding and both girls will poll a lot of votes. Melissa Russell (GS) has also played some outstanding games with accuracy that would have caught any umpires eye. They would all be deserving winners. Finishing second to the Pies is Hatherleigh. They have had a great season, recrui ng well and becoming a team full of experience but also youth and they have combined the two beau fully. Maddie Pulmer has had a fantas c year, playing at either end, wherever the Eagles needed her at the me. She will poll well, along with Tegan Merre who is incredibly fast through the midcourt and great to watch. Lacey Haines in goals, along with Lara McGregor in the mid-court, will also poll votes for Hatherleigh. Mount Burr jumped to third spot on the ladder a er the weekend and will be thrilled to be partaking in the finals series. Heidi Clark has been outstanding for the Mozzies and has teamed beau fully with Madi Hagge in defence. The pair have been in the best players most weeks and should top the votes for the Burr. Ebony Clark should also feature in the votes, shoo ng accurately and being a focal point for the Mozzies. Tantanoola round out the top four in the A Grade. They have been a very se led side and should poll a lot of votes a er some good wins. Expect to see Emma Gould poll well a er a great season at GS, along with teammate Casey Walker on the a acking wing. Jami Walker to also poll well, teaming well with Gould in goals and playing consistent

Proudly supporting the Mid South East Football League

netball every week. Glencoe have finished just outside the four and will also have some contenders. Sarah Edwards at GD for the Murphies has been consistent, her speed and ariel skills sure to catch the umpires eye. Sister Ashlea Edwards also expected to poll well, a er a consistent year at WA. Robe have finished behind Glencoe, they lost a lot of players early in the season which hampered their push for finals this season. Those that stepped up however, did an amazing job and they remained compe ve. Expect to see defender Georgia Perkins poll votes, along with goalies Tori Gluyas and Sarah Laurie. Port MacDonnell had a disappoin ng season and haven't won enough games to poll many votes. Leading the votes for the Demons will likely be Morgan Amy who was consistent in defence for the Bay, along with Michelle Moore through the centre. Brooke Williams will also poll some votes with accurate shoo ng performances. Nangwarry and Kongorong have finished on the bo om of the A Grade ladder. Nangwarry have had an unlucky year with injury and not being able to have the same team two weeks in a row. Hayley Burner may have polled some votes for them before her injury, while Ange Pra and Cassie Dinnison in goals have played the most games for the Saints and might poll a few. For the Hawks who have been winless in 2021, it is hard to see them gaining many votes at all. Should they snatch some, Riley Buckingham (GD) and Ella McIntyre (GA) would lead the way.

Under 21 Award The Mid South East Netball Associa on has a wealth of talent playing A Grade in 2021 and the winner of this award would most likely come from the top 4 or 5 sides. Kalangadoo are represented weekly by defender Chelsea Croser with Kori Collins and Sophie Wrightson stepping up from 17s to fill posi ons regularly. Hatherleigh have talented 16 year old Lacey Haines and Lara MacGregor has had a solid season at WD. Tigers GS Emma Gould has been playing seniors for a lot of years now and is combining well with Jami Walker and should poll well, Tayla Rowe at the other end of the court may steal a few votes from Gould. Mount Burr have the talented young trio of Madi Hagge in GK, Sarah Nulty in GA and Ava Smith-Muhovics on the wing, they may steal votes from each other however. Emily Thompson from Glencoe has been a great contributor at GK and may also feature highly.

firST SEMI-FINAL NETBALL PREVIEWS 13 & Under NANGWARRY v MT BURR In our youngest junior grade, Nangwarry who finished third on the ladder will take on Mt Burr who finished fourth. This has the poten al to be a ght game, with Nangwarry taking a 4 goal win in the first round and Mt Burr winning by 4 goals in round two. Both teams boast some talented juniors, with some key match ups being crucial to the outcome of this game. Skye Virtanen for the Saints has been consistent and adds height and speed to her team. She could line up against Sara Smith for the Burr, who was a country champ rep this year and has had a stellar season. Smith’s defensive skills and ability to turn the ball over will be an advantage for the young Mozzies. She could team up with Kali Linnell who has been strong in defence and is also capable of taking mely intercepts. Kiara Ephia is a versa le and valuable player for Nangwarry, her pinpoint passing and smart netball makes her an asset to her team. Another country champ rep in 2021, Tilly Gamble will be important to Mount Burr. She is a crea ve goalie who can also play other posi ons. She has strong hands and a great work rate. She could come up against Kaylee McNair for the Saints, McNairs height and strong rebounding ability make her an asset in defence. As is o en the case with our young netballers, nerves will play a part at the beginning of the game. The team that se le first could have the upper hand. Mount Burr also have the home court advantage which could prove valuable. 15 & Under KALANGADOO v PORT MACDONNELL In the first match of the day, it will be Kalangadoo taking on Port Mac in the 15's. Port Mac have taken the points both mes they met during the year, however Kalangadoo will have a vastly different line-up to when they met earlier in the year. Kalangadoo have talented and accurate goalies in Tegan Lythgo and Gabby Varcoe. Port Mac's defence has been able to contain them in their previous encounters, however the Bay could line up differently this me round. The Demons will be swea ng on the fitness of their defensive duo, Bridie McPherson and Brooklyn Jones, both girls have missed the last few games of the minor round due to injury. The midcourt ba le will be a good one – both teams have talented players. Chloe Peacock, despite being the youngest in the team, has had an outstanding season as has the Bay's Sophie Lewis. Their matchup will be a good one to watch. In the Demons a ack line, Lara Wilson is hard to stop, Georgia Gen le likely to get the job. Wilson an accurate goalie and Gen le a tall and strong rebounder, this should be a great tussle. Wilson is supported by Grace Jacob who should have a great ba le with the Magpies Ebony Wurst, who is a tenacious defender and will make Jacob earn her goals. The outcome of this game could depend on whether Pt Mac can field their usual line-up, should be a great game to get the day started. 17 & Under MT BURR v ROBE In the oldest of our juniors – Mt Burr will take on Robe in our 17's elimina on semi. The teams last met at the weekend and Robe took the win by 7 goals. Maddie Wirth was in great form for the Roosters, she shoots with accuracy and adds important height to the goal circle. She teams up well with Sienna Brooks who is a driving, a acking player. They will likely line-up against McKenzie Bevan who is a strong defender, proving her strength, also playing

some A Grade this year. One of Mt Burr’s strengths in this team is that despite not being overly tall across the court, their defensive pressure has been outstanding and allows their goalies plenty of opportuni es under the ring. The midcourt ba le will be a good one, Amelia Ballantyne has been in great form for the Burr, while Ella Mackey has been consistent for the Roosters, par cularly in the la er part of the season. Jemma Hayward has been good for the Mozzies in goals, she should have a great ba le against Maisie Hayes who is an important defender for Robe, providing the drive out of defence into their a ack line. If Robe play as they did in their last ou ng, they will be hard to beat. However we all know finals are a different ball game and Mt Burr are playing at home, will be a fascina ng game! B Reserve GLENCOE v PORT MACDONNELL In the B Reserve elimina on final Glencoe will take on Port MacDonnell. During the season both teams had one win each so this match could go either way. Cristan Smith has years of finals experience in goals for the Demons and is capable of shoo ng from anywhere inside the circle. She teams up with Maddy Hann who moves well in the ring. They will be ably backed by the experienced Lauren Lewis and Briodie Wilson outside the circle. The pair will line up against Glencoe's tenacious defence duo of Kate Sealey and Krystal Owen. In defence for the Demons will be the reliable Fiona Sco who reads the ball well and rebounds any missed shots. In the circle with her could be Lyndall Feast who is a first year senior player or under 17 player Arriella Smith, both who are capable of turning the ball over at crucial mes. In goals for the Murphies will be Bri Liebich and Lauren Kenny who on their day are hard to beat and accurate shooters. Glencoe have suffered mul ple injuries this season which could con nue to hinder them in their final. With one win a piece this game is up for grabs and could go down to the wire. B Grade TANTANOOLA v HATHERLEIGH In our B Grade elimina on final, the Tigers take on the Eagles. Previous ou ngs have seen the Tigers get up by 6 and 3 goals so this promises to be an enthralling game. Bek Millowick and Nic Rutkowski are strong in goals for the Tigers, they move well together and shoot with accuracy. They are well supported by their midcourt with great talking and accurate passing into the circle. Kris e Rowe will be one to watch, whether playing in defence or midcourt, she reads the play extremely well and shuts down plays. For the Eagles, Nat Chambers has been a gun all year running the centre posi on. Her work rate is phenomenal, always gives 110% and she is a posi ve leader on court. Hatherleigh’s defence are a force to be reckoned with. Jess Bowman has had an outstanding season at GD, she takes mely intercepts and is a strong rebounder in the circle. She is well supported by Georgia Gray at GK, who is a strong player with a never say die a tude. Accuracy will be important given the close results in their previous encounters. Expect this to be a close one. A Reserve TANTANOOLA v PORT MACDONNELL Tantanoola will take on Port MacDonnell in the A Reserve do or die final. Port MacDonnell just snuck into the top 4 a er a close win against Kongorong at the weekend. These two teams have only met once this season, and it was Tantanoola that got up by a goal. Port Mac have a vastly different team to what they had then.

Pt Mac's defence boast plenty of experience. Belinda O'Dine recently played her 350th game for the Bay, while Holly Smith has been outstanding all season, reading the play incredibly well and crea ng many turnovers. Narelle Lewis also recently played her 350th game and has a lot of netball knowledge. She makes the WA posi on her own and feeds her goalies with accuracy. Megan Hein joined the team a er returning from having a baby and adds height to the Demons goal circle along with accurate shoo ng. The Tigers have plenty of strength right down the court, Lauren Fensom and Estella Serle have been prominent in goals, while Alana Fensom and Emma Rathjen are a composed midcourt duo who feel their goalies with pinpoint accuracy. Kristy Varcoe is a tenacious midcourt defender, picking off anything within reach and providing great drive out of defence. Georgia Clarke and Kelsey Widdison will likely line up in defence for the Tigers, both strong defenders who read the ball well and rebound any missed opportuni es well. Very difficult to pick a winner given the teams only met once and line ups have changed since playing each other a lot earlier on in the season. Should be a great match. A Grade MT BURR v TANTANOOLA In our A Grade elimina on final we see Mt Burr at home taking on Tantanoola. Mt Burr sat in 5th spot on the ladder at the start of the last minor round game and a er defea ng Robe and Glencoe losing to Kalangadoo, they jumped to third spot. Mt Burr recruited well in the off season and their goal of making finals has come to frui on. Tantanoola have put in some stellar performances this year. They sat just outside the four for a few rounds and worked their way in through the season and have stayed there with some consistent performances and a se led side who have been able to gel together. Mt Burr coach Tamara Hagge returned to her old club this year, bringing her daughter Madi. Madi has had an outstanding season along with Heidi Clark in defence. The pair have been named in the best players most weeks and have become one of the leading defensive duos going round. They will line up against Emma Gould at GS for the Tigers and Jami Walker at GA. Gould has had a wonderful year, her height and ability to hold a real strength of her game. She is well supported by Jami Walker who adds speed in the circle and shoots accurately. Both teams boast wonderful midcourt players, for the Tigers, Casey Walker is a key player, she is a crea ve and finds space well on the circle feeding her goalies accurately. She is supported by Vic Lucas and Alex Lucas who have both also had great seasons. Mr Burr have finished with a slightly different to midcourt to how they started out this year - Ava Smith-Muhovics, Ann Guye and Laura Schultz are extremely valuable players and work relessly ge ng the ball down court to Ebony Clark and Sarah Nulty. Clark and Nulty have worked well together for the Mozzies and are both strong targets in the a ack line. They will take on youngster Tayla Rowe and Kate Bromley in defence for the Tigers. Kate is an experienced and clever defender, while Tayla's height is an advantage in the circle with her long arms and reach, as well as her rebounding ability. Last me these teams met it was Tantanoola who got up by 7 goals. They have only played once due to their second match being scheduled during our Covid lockdown. Both teams will be looking to advance through to the preliminary final and will leave nothing on the court. Should be a fantas c spectacle with some enthralling matchups. We can't wait to watch!

ROUND 18 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW KONGORONG v PORT MACDONNELL The first quarter of the game saw both the Demons and the Hawks go hard at the ball. Morgan Amy in GD for the Demons was on from the second the first whistle blew, working hard over the shot and driving the ball down the court to add a real sense of pressure early in the game. The Demons se led much earlier than the young Hawks with the a ack like of Port MacDonnell conver ng well giving them the lead heading into the first break. The second quarter saw the wind pick up even more than before with it causing issues for both teams across the court. Michelle Moore took the reins for the Demons running hard through the middle adding speed back into a game slowed by the condi ons. For the Hawks it was Zara Von Stanke off the line in WA working the ball down the court to give her goalies as much chance as possible to keep in the game. The Demons remained with the lead at half me. The Hawks went into the third quarter with work to do, and with some key changes across the court they li ed - Riley Buckingham put on the GD bib li ing her team’s drive out of defence and backed by Emily Lightbody in the circle, Georgia Bald on the defensive wing and the young Kate Wright entering the game into C, the Hawks were able to cause pressure defensively and gave their team the boost it needed heading into the second half. Unfortunately for Kongorong the combina on of the less than ideal condi ons and the relentless work from Port Mac’s backline led by Amy meant that the Hawks couldn't convert and the Demons kept the lead with one quarter remaining. Both teams con nued to fight hard defensively up either end with both Buckingham and Amy leading their teams from the backline and Moore and Wright were both working over me for their sides in a thrilling contest down the court but it was the Demons that could get it done in the windy condi ons and pick themselves up one last win for the 2021 season. GLENCOE v KALANGADOO There was a lot on the line for Glencoe coming into the last round for the season. They needed the win against a very polished Kalangadoo side to stay in their top 4 posi on. Unfortunately a missed first goal by Glencoe meant Kalangadoo got the early lead. Emily Thompson and Sarah Edwards had a great first quarter with some great intercepts and strong rebounds giving Glencoe as many

opportuni es to score as possible. Kalangadoo's defensive pressure from Mikaila Pi and Chelsea Croser made it hard for Caitlin Hentschke and Laura Edwards to find space. Kalangadoo’s Chelsea Croser came off injured meaning Chloe Pra was put back into goal keeper. Pra tried to use her body to put Hentschke out of posi on but with some pa ence and lovely passing from Ashlea Edwards and Donna Jaeschke, Glencoe were able to get the ball under the ring. Unfortunately some inaccurate shoo ng from Glencoe allowed Kalangadoo to grow their lead. Kalangadoo went into half me with a 29 to 14 lead. Kalangadoo brought on junior Kori Collins in to WD and Jane Auld went into WA, while Glencoe remained unchanged. Jayde Peacock and Donna Jeaschke were having a good tussle through the middle and both used their body well around the circle to create space for themselves. Melissa Russell was the focal point in Kalangadoo's goals scoring 11 for the quarter. Kalangadoo’s transi on from defence to a ack was quick and streamlined, making it hard for the Glencoe defenders. The last quarter was a bit more of an even affair, Glencoe con nued to give it their all knowing this may be the last me they hit the court for 2021. Rebecca Edwards applied great pressure to Jane Auld casing her to fumble the ball and Glencoe to string together some consecu ve goals. Kalangadoo came away with the 2 points with a 22 goal win. ROBE v MT BURR With Mount Burr figh ng for a finals place and Robe having nothing to lose, both teams were a er a win. Mount Burr came out strong, with lots of pressure all over the court. Heidi Clark picked off lots of loose balls, making it hard for Robe to get the ball down the court. Mount Burr were in the lead by 6 at quarter me. Robe came out firing in the second quarter, with a few quick turnovers from their defenders Georgia Perkins and Kimberley Aus n. This saw Robe capitalise on the turnovers and got the score back to 1 goal during the quarter, however Mount Burr stepped up their defence and increased their lead by the end of the quarter to 7 at half me. With both teams not making any changes, the third quarter was more even with some accurate shoo ng from both teams goalies, which saw Mount Burr increase their lead by 2 at three quarter me. The final quarter saw Mount Burr finishing off

strong, with con nuous pressure in the goal ring from Heidi Clark and Madi Hagge , chasing up loose balls and figh ng for the win. Mount Burr came away with the 12 goal win. Best players - Robe: Sarah Laurie and Georgia Perkins; Mount Burr: Heidi Clark and Laura Schultz. HATHERLEIGH v TANTANOOLA With third and fourth posi on s ll up for grabs, Tantanoola were looking to take the points to secure their finals hopes. Both sides going goal for goal in the first quarter which saw Tantanoola take a 1 goal lead going into the first break 12-13. Tegan Merre and Sarah Faulkner provided the Eagles with lots pace and control through the mid court, but it was clear it was a goalies game with Keston Green and Emma Gould being the focal points for their respec ve sides. It was goal for goal in the second term with neither side giving an inch as both sides jumped on any lose balls to help their side convert. There were tough head to head ba les all over the court, with the biggest being between Lara McGregor and Casey Walker. Strong defensive pressure by Hatherleigh made the Tigers work hard for every posi on. Casey Walker showed her athle cism and speed which allowed her to find plenty of space on the circles edge. The Tigers showed pa ence in a ack working the ball around un l they found Emma Gould under the post. Half me (28-29) saw the Tigers s ll hold a 1 goal lead, this saw changes from the homeside with Maddie Pulmer taking the GD and sending Maddie Redman back to GK, with Tantanoola remaining unchanged. The third quarter was dominated by the Eagles with Lacey Haines and Keston Green showing their dominance in goal circle. A calf scare sent Sarah Faulkner to the bench with Lara MacGregor stepping in to run the middle with Chelsea Galpin filling WD. Just 5 goals the difference going into the last quarter, which saw more changes for the homeside with Maddie Pulmer going back to GK and Maddie Redman running at GD with Tantanoola s ll remaining unchanged. The Tigers made a quick comeback in the last quarter as Jami Walker con nued to work hard to create plenty of scoring opportuni es but Hatherleigh stepped up and took control of the game which saw them take the win 69-57.

GLENCOE MURPHIES FOOTball club notes With Saturday done and dusted, so too is the regular season for the 2021 year. Fantas c weather greeted us at Murphy Stadium to round out the year for 3 of our football teams, with only the Junior Colts progressing to the Major Round. Regardless of scores on the day, it was awesome to see all teams finish off the year having a decent crack and enjoying their footy. A er the premiership reunions it was great to see so many numbers back at the club enjoying a delicious roast tea cooked by the Netball Club followed by a successful auc on night and plenty of conversa ons recapping the day's games. Junior Colts: The Minis started off the day looking to hit some form and roll into the first round of the finals with a bit of momentum. A six goal to zip first quarter definitely got the team up and about early which also carried over to the second quarter with another six goals added to the tally. The Kalangadoo side kept ba ling away all day and the scoring slowed down in the second half for the Murphies but the work was done early leading to a comfortable win for the home side. I've got the laptop on auto fill these days for the best on ground award, which Kaleb 'Dropsy' Price has had a mortgage on for most of the season. His dominance was no different on the weekend, earning these honours again while also slo ng 6 goals. Sammy Haase has also had a stellar year, popping up at second best for the day, while Kallan Price con nued on from last week's form being named 3rd best. Maybe coach could name Jodes in there somewhere next me and make it a true family affair. Another one of the usual suspects, Lachlan Brierly, capped off a brilliant year to feature at 4th best, while Marcus McGrath, a consistent performer all year just like his old man, rounded out the awards at 5th best. Perhaps between now and the coming match, young Connor 'McGregor' Tweddle can seek out the assistance of some of the netballers who are dancers to help him perfect his celebratory cartwheel, as the one that we witnessed on Saturday was an absolute train wreck. Full marks for effort though. The whole club wishes these youngsters all the best for their upcoming final and hope that they can play their best footy and pull out a win. Senior Colts: With finals out of the equa on, it was clear from the outset that the Senior Colt lads were out to play some good team oriented team footy and have a fair bit of fun in the process. If the anima on and noise from their pre-match huddle was a sign of things to come, the Kalangadoo side was in for a long day. Notorious for their slow starts, the Murphy side blew that narra ve clean out of the water, kicking accurately to post 10 goals in the first quarter with Will Maloney on the end of numerous forward advances. Unfortunately for the short handed Kalangadoo side, this was pre y much the order for the day with the Murphies always looking in control and scoring at will (pun intended). In the end it was a comfortable victory for the home side, finishing the year on a posi ve note. Will Maloney channelled his inner Steven Bradbury (look it up youngsters), star ng the match 6 goals behind in the league goalkicking award, but by the end of the match, with a measly 15 majors to his name, he would cross the line 4 goals in front to take out the award. This obviously earned him BOG honours and a place in the record books. Isaac Mulraney and Ben Weedon found plenty of the ball all day, sending it forward with regularity to be named 2nd and 3rd best respec vely while Cam Brooks con nued his extremely consistent season to take out 4th. Mark Arthurson has also showed plenty of grunt and determina on to win the hard ball which earned him 5th best on the day, while young Longy received the type of celebra on for his goal from his teammates usually reserved for a er the siren heroics, which must have resonated with Boof,

rewarding him with 6th best. Well done on a great season lads, there is plenty of talent here, we look forward to seeing you all progress through the ranks at the club. Reserves: The Ressies were looking to finish a tough year on a posi ve note at home in front of a good crowd. Early on the game was a ght affair with both sides having their share of the ball, but it was the Kalangadoo side that were able to hit up their forwards with more regularity which was reflected on the scoreboard. Bevo and Braedo were both ba ling well in the ruck ge ng their hands to the footy with regularity, but the Magpie mids were on top, ge ng more of the centre breaks. The backline was under pressure for a lot of the day and ba led hard to get the ball out of the defensive 50, but more o en than not it came back at them soon a er. By the end of the day the forward pressure from K'doo was too much, allowing them to run out comfortable winners. To the Murphy's credit, they gave their all through the course of the match, and once again, the Senior Colt lads who backed up for a second game played some awesome footy to help out on the day. Best player for the day was undoubtedly Ethan 'Eggy' Bronca who showed poise and some surprising elusiveness, making the most of his possessions and doing his utmost to limit the damage of the magpie forwards. Josh Agars once again gave his all un l the final siren, a acking the contests with grit and determina on and capping off a strong year. Big Bevo played another strong game, backing up a er last week ge ng 3rd best honours, which undoubtedly has the li le voices appearing in his head “you got another few seasons le in you…”. To which his knees reply “we're struggling down here, bro”. Chicko Finnis took out 4th best for a solid all round game in a variety of posi ons, while Ben Weedon showed no signs of fa gue from the Colts, throwing his body around and earning many tough possessions throughout the day to be named 5th best. At 6th best, in probably his strongest showing at the club, was Damo Wallis who showed toughness down back, regularly bringing the ball to ground and cu ng off many K'doo a acks. A Grade: The A Grade lads were up against an undefeated Kalangadoo side, but were keen to put it to them to finish the year strong. As was the case with the Ressies, it was clear that the back 6 were going to have a busy day, with a strong Kalangadoo midfield and forward line, providing plenty of problems for the Murphies. While s ll managing to win their fair share of the footy, the Murphies couldn't capitalise up forward, while down the other end, the backs were able to apply enough pressure to force some inaccuracy to prevent the score from ge ng away from them, heading into half me 7 goals down. A er the main break the Magpies came out and put the game to bed, like good sides do with an 8 goal quarter. To the Murphy's credit, they rallied in the fourth quarter to nearly double their score for the match, but it couldn't prevent K'doo running away with the game. Best on the day went to Ben 'Pie' Hentschke, who was able to overcome a severe case of chafe around the neck due to overuse of a certain medal, while Swanny took out second best for his usual defensive prowess. Gecks capped off a stellar season with 3rd best in his 150th senior game for the club while also slo ng 3 goals for the day, while Jack Edmonds finished off the year strong featuring in the best again. Rounding out the best were two Senior Colts in Cam Brook and Will Maloney, proving once again that the future looks bright with the talent from the junior ranks. As men oned previously that's a wrap for the 2021 regular season, thank you to all players, supporters, parents, coaches and volunteers who make a club ck, we look forward to seeing you all again in 2022.

NETball club notes Last week was the last game for a few sides. Thank you to the players for being a part of our club for 2021 and we hope you have had an enjoyable year. An even bigger to thank you to the coaches for giving their me! Well done to all junior sides who showed real improvement during the year and we look forward to seeing you next year. Bad luck to the A Grade girls who missed out on finals by percentage only. Good luck to the A Res, B Grade and B Res sides who all made finals – we will be cheering you on and wish you all the best. Junior 2: Good job girls, everyone played an amazing last game to finish the season off. First best (Metalworx Award) went to Charlo e for her intercepts down the court and her posi oning on the goal ring. Second best went to Abbie for her intercepts across the court and amazing defence. Third best went to Mikayla for her first op on passes and front posi on. Thanks for a great season girls. Go Murphies! Junior 1: Wow girls we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to finish off the season. You all played amazing and gave 100% each quarter. We had some great intercepts, driving down the court and everyone kept encouraging each other! Thank you to all of you for the season – my first year coaching and I couldn't have asked for a be er group of girls to coach, you are all amazing players. Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award went to Lacey for being able to read the ball well and some great rebounds with second best to Kloe P for great touches and 3 feet down the court. Encouragement award went to Vespa for some great defence, backing up and standing up tall all game. Also a special shout out to Emmerson who had a shot at goal that would have been in the “super shot” range. Thanks again to the girls and your families for an amazing season! 13 & Under: 10-80. Last game for the season and I'm glad it was a fun game to end the season. Everyone moved well and defended well even with fun changes. Dycers Award went to Mckayla Maney and second to Sienna Hawke. Thanks for a great season girls – I was really pleased to the improvement you showed during the year. 15 & Under: 11-59. Last game of the season and the rain held off. It took a bit to find space and adjust in the first quarter, but a er a couple of posi on changes you all se led. Some of the girls stepped out of their comfort zone with Jorja Burdon having a quarter in centre. Well done great effort. Best (Maloney Plumbing Award) went to Jasmine Mutch who played consistent throughout each quarter, Allyssa Medhurst who provided voice and encouragement, Jorja Burdon for playing well and having a quarter at centre. Well done girls - it was a tough year but we managed to come away with a few wins and show some improvement. 17 & Under: 26-63. Well done girls! The scoreline did not at all reflect the game, it felt like it was close all game.

Kalangadoo are a very good team and we stuck with them all the way. The intensity was amazing and a real step up from the past few weeks. Jorja (Donut King Award) had a fantas c game in GA with great movement and Lilly supported her really well, shoo ng accurately. Zoe was excellent through the centre running hard in hot condi ons to earn the DeGaris Lawyers Award. Lara and Raine both moved well on the wing, with good drives and Mikayla, Chelsea and Zali all worked hard in defence all day and caused lots of turnovers. Best of luck to Caitlyn with an ankle injury early in the game, hope you recover quickly! Thank you all for a wonderful season and to all of our parents for their support. B Reserve: 32-60. We know we can do be er so let’s put in hard at training and play like I know we can. Bad luck girls it doesn't feel good and it didn't look pre y. With lots of injuries we just need to adjust and go back to basics. Lets give it everything today. Key 2 Sale Award went to Alarna Briggs and second best to Bri Scheer. B Grade: 43-52. A disappoin ng game overall from us. There were some excellent passages of play and plenty of posi ves but now our finals campaign begins, it's me to get back to basics and get all the li le things right. Credit to our defensive trio who slogged it out all game but due to silly errors we couldn't reward their efforts. We head into this week knowing what we all have to do so let's leave sixty minutes of our best netball out there. Best (Planta on Treated Timber Award) Samantha Brierley and second best to Sally McDonnell. A Reserve: 40-43. Great game girls. Although we didn't get the win, we can definitely go into finals confident and feeling strong. It was great to see that any goalie combina on we had on court worked well and everyone was commi ed to the changes we made. Jessie and Alyce had a great game through the middle using their speed to create so much space in our a ack line. It's looking good ladies. Tameka had a tough job all day but kept figh ng hard and finished the game with some great intercepts and rebounds. Let's keep working hard over the next few weeks and come out firing in the second semi. B&P Travel and Cruise Award went to Malinda and second best to Alyce. A Grade: 36-58. Unfortunately not the result we needed, but everyone gave it their all for the whole 4 quarters and we can finish our season with our heads held high. O'Brien Electrical Award went to Emily and second best to Donna. It's been such a crazy season for us. So many injuries at the start to the season and just as we found our groove Covid hits and unfortunately didn't work in our favour. Thank you to everyone for all your commitment during the season, hopefully we're able to con nue to grow and improve as a unit in 2022. Thanks to Leanne and Bonnie for scoring for me throughout the season. Also a big thank you and well done to Chelsea for si ng bench and training with the A Grade all season.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES fooTball club notes A Grade: For our last game of the home and away season we hosted Tant, with windy condi ons we knew we had to protect the ball. Our boys played the condi ons really well and hit our targets all day in a good team 4 quarter effort running away with a big win. Sam Telfer (5 goals) and Sauce Brown (4 goals) led the charge up forward, Will Chay was in a league of his own in the middle finding plenty of touches and using it really well, Mitch Pulmer also had a big day in the middle and also hi ng the scoreboard with 3 goals. This week we head into the first round of finals playing Robe at Mount Burr, good luck to all teams in finals, go Eagles. Reserves: We came up against Tant in the final round and the boys were keen to avenge our only loss for the year. Tant came out hard in the first quarter, and we knew they were going to make us earn the win. Kicking into the breeze in the second quarter we were able to take control of the game and slam on 6 goals to 1 for the term. Our ball movement was first class, and we gave our forwards plenty of good opportuni es. We managed to keep the opposi on scoreless in the second half, whilst kicking 5 ourselves to run out 73pt winners. This was our most complete team game for the year and hopefully gives us some good

momentum heading into the second semi. Best players: Dylan, Muff, Alsch (7 snags), Wighty and Langy. Senior Colts: The boys came up against a determined Tant side, with them looking to con nue some good form coming into finals. A er a ght first quarter with 2 goals apiece, the boys stepped up in the second quarter to take a small lead into the half me break. Tant responded in the third, before we returned in the 4th to put the game to put the game away. Cam Aky and Harvey Jones both had 5 goals each. Bowie, Paddy and Tyson Aky all had days out in the midfield. Eli Kneen con nued his recent good form of the past month to round out the best players. Junior Colts: The kids welcomed Tant to Hatherleigh on a sunny winter's morning. The kids started well, playing good team footy. It was a consistent 4 quarter effort from the kids to run out comfortable victors. Ollie Fitzgerald con nued his great year to be best on. Brayden Chambers was second best, snagging four goals and providing plenty. Jack Bellinger used his size and strength to dominate the opposi on. Hudson Nowak had a day out in the forward line kicking 5 goals. Jordan Atkinson rounded out the best players, finding plenty of the ball.

neTball club notes Junior 2: A great finish to the season last week with all 15 girls taking the court! Lots of changes and moving around but the girls adjusted brilliantly and showed encouragement and teamwork. The li le Eagles showed determina on against Tantanoola, by chasing up loose balls and snatching balls in to gain possession. In a ack girls were running into space and using their dodge to break free. We finished four quarters with Tant then played an extended 5th quarter against ourselves. Girls were star ng to re a er a big morning but con nued running and contes ng possession. Emma Grath received the Maccas voucher for her first game of J2, Arabella got the Toy Kingdom award for her persistence in defence and Paige Walkers got the Ladies award for her driving leads. Thanks girls for a wonderful season... so much improvement and skills development plus a lot of fun! Junior 1: Bit of a slow start to the game but once you all switch on boy did you girls switch on. You all chased up countless loose balls, talked, made space, cut front and did all the li le things we have been working on all year. You worked so well as a team and I am proud of each and every one of you. The resilience you girls show and ability to take on construc ve advice incredible. You should all be so proud of yourselves. Well done li le Eagles what a great season it's been. 13 & Under: What a great game girls, you all listened and tried new things. Defensively your one-on-one D created many turnovers. Poppy's footwork is improving out of sight and she pulled in many intercepts and loose balls. Liv did a great job driving down the court giving us a safe avenue into a ack. Sylvie moved beau fully in the circle finishing off with some lovely shots. Kalli had a super game shoo ng an amazing 52 goals, passing the ball around for the percentage shot paid off. Overall a pre y good effort from everyone leading into the finals, s ll a few things to work on but your all up to the task. Thanks to Luca and Scarle for si ng bench. Awards: Kalli (Gino's and HLC), Sylvie (HLC). 15 & Under: Well was nice to see the sunshine, we had a much be er warm up and were ready to go at the first whistle. We were much more pa ent in our a ack and gave the ball to the first op on it looked great. We need to work on a few things defensively all over the court to try to limit the ball entering the goal circle too easy. Overall all girls put in for three quarters I think we let ourselves down in the last quarter though. Let's work hard at training and give it our all in the finals. Awards: Tori (Denton’s Sportspower), Indi and Eva (HLC). 17 & Under: What an incredible way to finish off the minor rounds. We u lised a lot of our set plays and really stepped up with our control down the en re court. Our vocal pressure has never been stronger nor louder, as every player on court encouraged and really got around each other. A very strong team effort and one to feel confident about coming into finals. Awards: Dakota (Corner Clip), Jasmyne (Denton's Sportspower) and Laura (Java Café). B Reserve: Hard to believe that it was the last game of the round, unlike our previous game, we started off strong

and played 4 good quarters of netball. Our defence line was strong - Karen, Georgia and Fee all rebounding strongly and crea ng many turnovers. Sally and Staci in C along with Michelle and Amy in WA worked hard and applied lots of pressure down the court intercep ng many balls. Michelle played half a game in GA and considering she has only played there twice this year did a great job feeding the ball into Dizey and Indi who in return both put up some great shots and Michelle managing to put a couple up also. Going into the finals we have to remain posi ve all remember we are playing not just for ourselves but for each other as a whole team and to con nue to have strength and determina on. Thank you to Kerry for primary caring, Nicole for scoring and Tamara for ming. Thank you to Keston for your help with the goalies. Good luck this week to Kerry and her girls in the B Grade, we will all be there cheering you on. B Grade: Probably not one of our best games and obviously trying to rotate 10 players showed its not going to get us deep into the finals if we are swapping more than 1 player each quarter. Tantanoola showed they wanted the win more than us at mes and their physical presence on the court, we didn't cope with like we normally would. It is now a do-or-die situa on next weekend so we need to regroup and stay posi ve, which I know we can. We are the only netball team playing in this week’s final so let’s get all our supporters to get out and cheer us on! Thanks Kelly Brown for scoring and ming, Raels for scoring and Linda for primary carer. Awards: Jess had a great game with many intercep ons in defence (HSRC), Nat ran hard and great re-offering down the court (Chemist King). A Reserve: The girls were eager to finish the season with one final crack and had nothing to lose. We started well, treasuring possession and scoring a er turnovers. Tant were consistent throughout but we kept up the pressure every quarter with Isabel and Lucy making life difficult for goalies. Melissa and Lucy were feeding into goalies with precision and pa ence, and the drive down the court was clearing space beau fully. We stayed with Tant for most of the game with the lead changing numerous mes. Unfortunately we couldn't get the momentum for long enough to get in front and went down by 7 but our fight to the end was impressive. Abby Wight got the Kelsey's Fitness award, and the two Lucy's got Somerset awards. A Grade: A er ge ng our bu kicked the week before, it was good to find our mojo again and put a good solid performance together. Kes had a ripper of a game, using her experience to earn BOC closely followed by Lace who put a great four quarters together. It was good to see Sarah B looking confident back on court and also having Maddie P back was a bonus. Once again defensively our pressure was outstanding and our a ack line improving. Chels is proving to be a wonderful impact player coming on and not missing a beat. Here's hoping Sarah F is feeling be er soon. Thanks Rosie for si ng bench, Anna for scoring and Tori for ming. Awards: Kes (Somerset Hotel), Lacey (Sassi).

kalangadoo magpies fooTball club notes Round 18 saw us head to arch rivals Glencoe to finish of the season. Overall, it was an extremely successful day for the club, winning 2 out of the 4 grades. Under 11: Our under 11s went BANG to finish off their season. Unofficially according to super coach Boxy and a few of his superstar players we finished the season with a win, Kalangadoo kicked 7 goals to 1. Future star Franky Mules kicked 3. The Under 11s have grown from strength to strength this season, improving weekly and providing a lot of enjoyment to all of us at the footy club. Well done on a sensa onal season. Junior Colts: The under 14s and 17s had a pre y tough day at the office to finish the season. The 14s were heavily undermanned, due to various reasons including players being stuck interstate. Searlo has done an amazing job all year and kept our young group future stars engaged weekly. The Senior Colts were undermanned once again, but their endeavour didn't waver. We iden fy this age group as our most important grade in the club. Over the next 6-12 months we have got plans in place to grow this group and con nue to provide the best resources available in a bid to keep developing good senior footballers. Thank you to Timmy on coaching this season, in what was one of

the toughest seasons in recent memory. You are a great role model to all people involved within our club, and especially this young group of future stars. B Grade: The Bazza's had to win and Port Mac had to beat Kongorong for us to sneak into 4th posi on. Fortunately, all of the stars aligned and we have managed to clutch onto the 4th spot from below. The Ressies were as clinical as they have been in years. The ball moved end to end with ease and it was a delight to watch. We have a big week at Mt Burr this week against Port Mac. The en re club is behind you Tys and Auldy, bring home the bacon and advance into the prelim. Good luck and go well. A Grade: Our senior group have hit their straps right at the business end of the season. Over the last 3 weeks their short ball use and their decision making have been key highlights. We ended up cruising to a comfortable 95point win on Saturday, but unfortunately it was soured with the injury news to Michael Krieger who injured his leg in a marking contest. He did kick 9 goals 5 points 8 minutes into the 3rd. Rest up mate, look forward to having you back out there as soon as you can. Best on ground was captain Mitch Lowe, followed by Weaponhead and Stoney. Good luck with a big finals series coming up.

NETball club notes Junior 2: It has been a pleasure to see the progress of all the J2 girls. All 12 girls have improved so much from the start of the season to now! They have all listened and their skills have reflected this and they have shown what the future may hold which is exci ng to see and what they will be capable of next year to build on. Well done to everyone and thank you to all the sponsors, parents and supporters for le ng the girls play netball. See you all next year. Junior 1: Great effort li le Magpies in our final match for the season. It was fantas c to see some great passages of play in the a ack line, with girls working hard to get ball side and push passes into the space. Defensively, all players worked hard to add pressure and cause turnovers. It has been a fantas c season and a joy to see you all develop your netball and most importantly enjoy the game. Awards: Paradise Pizza - Molly, Fasta Pasta - Ebony, Athletes Foot Ma lda. Looking forward to seeing you all back in 2022! 13 & Under / 15 & Under: Wow! Great to see us finishing the minor round with all players contribu ng to their team and being able to ensure everyone played a minimum of four quarters of netball. So proud and pleased that you took on board the “revision” work done at training - there were lots of changes in direc on when leading, front cuts, ming of leads, great passing to space, ght defence and an cipa on in both grades. Well done! Awards: Kalangadoo Organics, Paradise Pizza, Hungry Jacks, SAL, and Athletes Foot went to Molly, Chloe, Ebony, Georgia, Ash, Gabby, Lucy, Shayden and Alice. 17 & Under: A great finish to the minor rounds. It is a pleasure to watch and coach this amazing team. You have all worked hard and improved so much over the season. Our defence pressure was once again outstanding. We are so lucky to have such versa lity and strength with our 15s helping out each week. I look forward to our journey in finals. B Reserve: Great team effort to cement a place in the top two! Extra trainings star ng to pay off with all succeeding to carry out some of the strategies (s ll a couple to con nue to work on, eh Bills!). Deb (Athletes Foot) played a boomer though injured in the first quarter, she must have know that ankle would need the extra week's rest! Rhianna (Body Shop) and Jodi combined excep onally well in goals and pulled off some of our “game plays” we've been working on. Many of these would not have worked so well without good posi oning and passing by Imogene (Sheltons

Butchers), Bills and Gem. To top things off Lisa and Brianna provided plenty of drive down court and defensive pressure. Thanks to Emily, Maddy and Georgia for si ng bench again - your support is appreciated. B Grade: Fantas c way to end the season girls with a solid win over Glencoe. We have had a great end to the minor rounds and coming away undefeated is very impressive. All the girls have put in all season and it has come together nicely at the end. There are s ll a few bits to work on before we come up against Glencoe again in two weeks but it was a good start. Defensively all the girls worked hard to create turnover opportuni es con nuously. Glencoe had tough and quick defenders that made transi on difficult at mes but the girls adapted well and maintained their pa ence. The speed through the mid court and consistent rebounds we're also a big posi ve to take away. A well deserved week off and I look forward to the second semi. Best players: Nicole Reeves and Jolie Crowhurst. A Reserve: A really great way to finish off the season and ensure we finished minor premiers, especially with the change up with some posi ons due to Schultz having to work. Shan and Eb a er one training together combined beau fully in defence causing lots of headaches for the opposi on goalies. Emmason, Jamie, Shelby and Holly con nued to work really hard to move the ball through the midcourt finding lots of space. While Maddy and Jaimee con nue to grow as a goalie combina on week by week. A huge thanks to Narelle for stepping in and coaching again last week, as well as to all my bench support staff throughout the season in Josie, Rea, Leanne and Anthea. Terry White Chemmart Gambier City Award Shanen Pullkinen, Margaret Street Meat Award - Ebony McDiarmid, Leanne Li le Body Shop Award Emmason Ilsley, Penola OGA Awards - Madalyn Bonanno. A Grade: Great effort to maintain composure for four quarters and adjust to posi onal changes. Once again the kids demonstrated their readiness for senior netball, through their ability to step into a match, quickly adapt and rise to the challenge. Well done - it is also pleasing in turn to see a reduc on in screen me. Most players were pleased to see a return to some more accurate record keeping with stat-man making a quick trip across the border. The day unfortunately did not end perfectly with a drop in accuracy cos ng the 'hot pie' pairing an early exit in the qualifying rounds - I'm sure this will be the first and last me. Awards: Penola IGA Chlostar, Athletes Foot - Abbey.

kongorong hawks fooTball club notes Last week we welcomed Port MacDonnell to the home of the Hawks to contest the Bruce Lightbody Memorial Shield. The weather turned it on and spectators were a plenty, with the ladies punch-up proving a great success, and the Reserves enjoying their last hurrah, down behind the goals a er their game. Minis: Thanks to the Bay kids for coming over to play both U11s and Auskick games to finish off the year. Our best players were Ella Bogie who has been improving all season and really impressed me with her effort and posi oning. Next was Koby "G" Galloway who is an extremely talented young player. Tyler had the perfect season, pu ng in another solid effort, followed by Coby Brandt who is always hard at it and started to go on some runs with the ball. Mac Brant who probably did the most perfect bump I have seen! Finally thank you to all the kids for a fun season and I hope they enjoyed it too! Junior Colts: As the end of the home and away season is upon us, we welcomed our tradi onal rivals in Pt Mac for the last game of the season. The phone rung hot leading up to the game and we ended up having 6 away for various reasons, but this allowed us to get some addi onal game me into a few players and bring some minis up for a taste of footy for next year. It was a bit slippery early on and with a fairly strong breeze across the ground it took a li le while to get going. Once we got going though we managed to move the ball quickly around the ground and looking to bring other players into the game. It was a very different backline last week and much to their credit once again only allowed the opposi on 2 points for the game. The board got a working over once again with input required to work through the best players as once again it was a very even team performance and majority could have received one. Best on ground though and in a real purple patch of form and confidence is sky high Luke Allen received the Swallow Drive Meats Award. Second best and Rocks Shop Award went to our captain in Kur s Lasle who again showed can play in mul ple posi ons around the ground and I'm sure enjoyed the run in the ruck. The Rocks Tavern Award went to Lily Gordon who is another growing in confidence as the season has rolled on and is always hard at the ball and contest. Tyler Richardson took home the Mick Mullan Award for his 3 goals and 50th for the season but his work around the ground and looking to set up players in be er posi ons. Jacob Gordon out on the wing found heaps of the ball again all day and always looking to bring teammates into the game received the Coaches Award. The Angelino Family Award went to Mr Versa le in Toby McKinnon who without ques on always does the team thing week in week out and never backs away from a contest. Securing top spot on the ladder means we now look forward to a week's break before taking on Hatherleigh in the 2nd Semi, in what will be a very tough contest for a spot

in the Grand Final. The Kongorong Junior Colts Scholarship, sponsored by the Ellis Family and Coola Sta on, was awarded to Kain Ashby for his dedica on and involvement around the club. Go Hawks! Senior Colts: Last game of the year and a welcome change in the weather that bought with it some good footy at mes. Maverick Cooper took the Ma hews Petroleum Award, and congratula ons to him for playing in his first A Grade game. With a commitment to training and a focus on playing seniors next year, we hope this is one of many. Cohen Janeway performing well again to receive the Janeway Concre ng Award, Thomas Bellinger had a bit more of a run in the centre, to earn the MT Wheels Award. William Von Stanke's consistent effort allowed him to get the Badenoch's Deli Award. James Allan received 5th best and was rewarded for his consistent efforts and good sportsmanship with the Kongorong Senior Colts Scholarship, sponsored by Coola Sta on and the Ellis Family. The Spot on Fishing Award went to Riley McConachie. Our focus now moves to Saturday at the Burr for the first round of finals. Carn the Hawks! Reserves: Disappoin ng end to the season just missing out on making the final four. Sean 'Pumba' Farrell led from the front, in what was his last game as coach a er four years at the helm. Finishing off the season well were Mark 'Rowdy' Hunter, Callum Wagstaffe and Paechy. A big thanks to all those that stepped up to play when we were short throughout the year, we had a different line up most weeks, which always makes it interes ng. Good luck to both the Colts sides in the finals. A Grade: Port MacDonnell were successful in taking the Bruce Lightbody Memorial Shield home with them. A tough day on the field, however a number of Colts played their first A Grade game (Maverick Cooper and Jake Carrigan) which is always pleasing to see the young fellas promoted to senior ranks. Harry Evans was in everything yet again to receive the best player award from Collins Court Butcher. Killara Food Centre Award went to the everreliable backman in Aaron 'Kouta' Lightbody. Brad Long has hit a purple patch the past few weeks and is off to see Mick at Collins Court Butchers. Ma Cordy con nued to string together another fine performance to be rewarded with the Club Tea Award. Rounding out the best players was Ma Weistra with a Club Tea Award. Time now to get out and support the Colts teams during their finals campaign. Congratula ons to Marty Von Stanke on his 200th Senior Game for the club, and John Simkin on his 250th A Grade game for the Hawks. Both are top blokes to have around the club and well respected by their teammates and opposi on. Reminder: Presenta on Night for Seniors is the 9th October, and Juniors the 19th September.

mount burr mozzies football club notes Last week we finished the season down at Robe where the sun was shining hopefully we got some of that today for our final. In the football the results were Robe winning all four games with all our players compe ng un l the final siren, since none of our football teams are in the finals all the a en on turns to the netball teams playing in finals good luck to those teams also thanks to everyone who called into the Beachport pub for a drink or feed. Thanks to everyone who are helping in some way today or have donated food and to the volunteers who put in many hours throughout the week to get the oval and surrounds looking fantas c. Reminder: Presenta on dates Seniors Friday Sep. 24 at 7.00; Juniors Sunday Sep. 26 at 1.00. Junior Colts: Last week we were off to Robe to face a well structured team and knew we had a ba le on our hands, with only 13 players the boys knew they had a big task and too their credit gave it a red hot go, at half me the boys were up on the scoreboard and doing all the 1 percenters that we ask of them. Leading the way was Charlie Bevan who’s 3rd and 4th efforts were unbelievable and just kept pushing the ball forwards for us, second best went to Will Wimshurst who stood tall and rucked all day and even pushed forward to score a couple, third best went to Heath Johnston who tackled all day and would have been annoying for their forwards, and 4th best went to Jayden Garner who tackled all day and did the one percenters for his team, fi h best went to Lukas Montouri who is looking more and more comfortable on the field and has improved by leaps and bounds this year, and sixth best went to Deklan Brant who gives his all for his teammates and puts his head over the ball and wins it for us all of the me. We’d like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with the kids through the year, our trainers in Paul and Cat and the junior commi ee who help make everything happen, and to the parents and the kids who without we wouldn’t have a side. We look forward to next year and ge ng some more kids involved and having a red hot crack and pushing for a finals spot. See you all next year and “he’ll it’s good

out here”. Cheers Tom. Senior Colts: Last game we took on an undefeated Robe side in our last game of the season. The boys didn’t give up all game but we were given a footy lesson. Best players were Finleigh Altschwager, Je Bowering, Brock Sandow, Trey Norton Li le and Bradlee Lawson. Big thanks to all the boys for their efforts this year and best of luck in the future to all our boys going up in grades, the club’s future looks very bright. Thanks again to the club for allowing me to coach. Thanks to anyone that helped us out this year for your support. Huge thanks to Fiona Whennan, you make my job a lot easier. Last but not least thanks to my family and wife Kristy for pu ng up with and allowing me to coach. B Grade: The Burr boys took to the field with a few Senior Colts helping out again and even though they tried hard they were well beaten by a more experienced side. The team have played some good football throughout the year but need to work on being more consistent going into next year. A Grade: Well that’s a wrap. Season 2021 all done and dusted for us. Not the way anyone wants to finish - not making the finals but we’re all on again for next season and ready to make amends. Saturday saw us take on Robe at Robe and didn’t they turn the weather on for us. A perfect day for football. Was a bit of a snapshot of our season with us playing some good patches here and there but at other mes just not doing enough. Play of the day went to our captain who managed to dance around 3 or 4 or 5 (depending how late in the night we spoke about it) players before taking an almost teasingly slow wet weather bounce (on a sunny 20 degree day) and slo ng it straight through for a behind. It’s up there with our fellow forward - Hamish Smith who got play of the day earlier in the year for ge ng that excited running into an open goal that he fell over his own feet. Speaking of feet, can you really actually break your toes playing football? I know someone who knows. Best for the day was Sam Wallis, Jim Wallis, Josh Wallis, Taylor Allen-Wallis, Brodie GregoryWallis and Jack Gregory-Wallis. What a day. All the best to our netball teams in the finals. Go Mozzies!

Awards went to Olivia H (Mad Penguin), Lily (Muffin Break), and Macy (Bakers Delight). 17 & Under: Not the way we wanted to end the home and away season and certainly a game of netball we don't want to repeat. Although we had some good passages of play, our own unforced errors and a tude towards the game let us down. Let's come out firing in the first semi-final and play the style of netball we all know you are capable of. Thanks to Lisa for umpiring, April for scoring, and Tam for helping out while Madi couldn't be there. Awards went to Jarrah (Donut King) for always being a consistent player in our team and giving 100% no ma er what posi on she is put in, and Kelsi (Mad Penguin) for not only having a great game but her great leadership and posi vity out on court.

Thank you to the whole team for your dedica on, enthusiasm, and great team spirit throughout the season. Mount Burr 27 to Robe 11. A Reserve: Well done girls and a great finish to the season. Robe made us work for every goal and it certainly showed in our patches of fa gue. Plenty of things to con nue to build on as we begin our finals campaign. Thanks to Leah for umpiring, Heidi for scoring, and Tanya for being the primary carer. Congratula ons to our U13, U15 and U17 sides for also making finals. I would like to thank all of the senior and junior coaches that commi ed their me and effort to each team throughout the 2021 season. You are all extremely valued members of the MBNC. To all teams compe ng this week in the first semi-final at Mount Burr, we wish you all the very best of luck. The club is proud of each and every one of you. I hope to see many of our players, members, and supporters out at the courts cheering the 13 and Under, 17 and Under, and A Grade on this Saturday, and hopefully we will be watching all these teams progress into the preliminary finals. Ball s ll moved well, we scored at every opportunity and every contest the boys a acked the ball well. Great job under 11's Junior Colts: Our Junior Colts ventured to Tantanoola for our last game of the year hoping to finish the season on a high. We played a great 4 quarter match and played some great team

footy throughout. We were able to throw the team around in the last to give some players a chance in different spots which was a nice way to finish the year off. Best players were Benne , Harry, Archer, Noah, Toby and Wya . It was a year with so much improvement no ced from start to finish and the club should be extremely proud of the group and excited by the future. A big thanks to Vesa for help doing the runner role and giving lots of game assistance on the sideline, Ma and Marcus Thomson for doing boundary umpiring every week, Jason Edwards for being a regular as goal umpire, Lou for doing the mekeeping, Tamara for helping with everything off field throughout the year and all other volunteers that have helped any of the games. Our ball movement improved a er half me and if we had have kicked straight the score line would've been closer. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me in my first year as coach and appreciate the messages and posi ve feedback I received from players, coaches, and officials from opposi on clubs. The Mid SE is a great league to be a part of! Well done to our senior boys for their improvement over the year, another big preseason, and no doubt that win will come early on next year! Good luck to all the teams who are finals bound. Cheers, LT.

NETball club notes What a crazy season this year has been. Firstly, I would like to thank all our coaches that put in their own me this season to coach our teams. It can be a challenging job at mes but the posi ves and improvement each team has shown this season it a credit to you all well done. Thanks to all that scored, med, and managed. What would we do without our umpires thank you to all that had a go at umpiring and especially to the girls who umpired week a er week. Also, thanks to the commi ee for all their efforts this year. We are very grateful to get many sponsors on board to support Nangwarry this year, without you clubs can't survive so thank you. Also, to the businesses out there who donated awards for our weekly best players. Thanks. We were lucky enough this season to see one team make the finals - our young 13&U side. Let's see as many supporters out there to cheer this team on. Good luck 13&U. Go Saints! Junior 2: Our last game of the year and you all didn't disappoint. You all played awesome no ma er what posi on you played. It's been amazing to see you all grow as players, from not knowing where to go or stand at the start, but now have a strong understanding of the game. Saturday our pass and go was strong, we all a acked hard and passed to our free players, so much great teamwork out there. So proud of you all this season you really listened and enjoyed it, I hope I see you all there next year to con nue your development. Awesome season girls. Donut King went to everyone. Junior 1: Well done to everyone on playing our last game for the season. You've all improved so much since the start of season, very proud coach. Was good to welcome 4 new players to our team. We played a great defensive game ge ng lots of touches. Nice to see you all ge ng your 3 feet and hands over the ball and some nice leads and dodging. Thank you to Davina and Kate for helping me at home games. Hope to see you all back next season and see you at presenta ons. Everyone received McDonald's awards 13 & Under: Well done all to finish off our last minor round. We started strong with a 20 goal to one first quarter. We then had a bit of fun and swapped around. Pleasing to see how versa le we are with many proving they can both ends. Gemma received the McDonald's award and ran a whole quarter at centre. Great effort. Skye received Donut King award for being consistent and always applying defensive pressure. Big thank to you to all parents for their support and to Tanisha McNair who has taken on umpiring this season. We have

loved having you and see you grow in confidence each week. Thank you. Congratula ons on making finals. Now the hard work begins. Hopefully we can li the tempo and implement all we have been working on. 17 & Under: Thanks to all the girls that filled in for us throughout the whole year, it was greatly appreciated. It was really good to see the girls bring the under 15's into the game. The girls played a good first half of netball and were talking and applying pressure down the whole court. We had a few injuries which let us down a bit. But the girls soon combined well with the new players with was good to see. The girls went a er loose balls and backed each other. The girls had a good season and tried hard week in week out. Thanks to Bec for team managing and Ash for scoring each week, Mum and I thank you for your con nuous support. Donut king - Skye Muller, Fasta Pasta Montana McKay. B Grade: Thank you girls for a fun season. You were a pleasure to coach, and I hope you had as much fun as I did. You held me accountable and helped me grow as a person which I am thankful for. I only hope I did the same to you. I would like to thank everyone who helped me along the way, big or small. I look forward to seeing you all at presenta on night. A Reserve: Our last 2 games looked so much be er. Although we didn't get the wins we wanted, we have improved all year. It was an up and down year for our team with so many changes week to week, but we all adjusted well and finished off strongly. Thanks to everyone that helped us, our special men on to Sarah for coming in at the end and Tamara and Stevie who sat bench a lot in the last half of the year. With some extra work and fitness I feel we have a team to beat some of the top sides and I hope to see you all back next year to build on this. Athletes Foot - Taysha. A Grade: Well what can I say, we have not had the best season with all our injuries. So many changes every week to our line up, but to our credit we kept going out there being compe ve, and we really did improve as individuals and as a team, super proud of you all. It has been great to see us work together and really scare a few teams and even be er we got a couple of wins this year, a massive improvement from the last few years. If we keep working on it, we only going to get be er and I think under Hayley B guidance and all your dedica on and determina on to improve it will happen. So proud of you all and I hope to see you again next year. Pines Hotel - Carly, Fasta Pasta – Ange.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS fooTball club notes B Grade: As the sunset falls on the home and away season we headed to Kongorong to take on the old enemy for the final round. A good win last week against Robe sealed a finals berth for the Reserves. With one eye on the finals, the coaching staff had to make sure all boys were all focused and ready to finish off the season in good form. The game started off in earnest, with Kongorong jumping out to take the lead at the quarter me break. A er a re-adjustment from the coaching staff at the quarter me break the boys let down and took the lead by the half me break. In the second half everything the boys touched worked and by the end of the game the boys took out a very nice win to tune up before the finals. Best for the week was Fraser Lynch a er a delayed start to the season due to injury Fraser has got be er and be er every week. Second best was Lennox Lewis in a fine performance that included a couple of wonderful runs down the ground. Third best was Ben O'Dine who just does what he normally does, hard contested footy. Fourth best was Rhys Timms who was everywhere on the ground. Fi h best was Liam Bo omley who also has had an interrupted year but his run and dash has been important in the last few weeks. And sixth best was Ben Milstead who had had a wonderful year which has included some really good senior footy as well. This week we face a huge challenge as we take on Kalangadoo in the 1st semi. Every game from here is an elimina on final so we will

need to be on our game every minute of every quarter. A Grade: A er a return to form last week with a very good win against Robe to put us in pole posi on to finish top 2, it was me for our senior side to regroup and take on the old enemy Kongorong in the final home and away game. It is so important not to let the good work from our last game go to waste with a poor performance and lose the second posi on back to Robe. In the first quarter the senior boys were electric and piled on 6 unanswered goals to put Kongorong on the back foot. In the next quarter they piled on another 5 goals to 2 to have the game under control at the half me break. In the second half Kongorong fought back and got a lot more looks at goal but thankfully were able to keep our scoring up and take out a very nice win. Best for the week was Kevin Thomson who set the win up in the first quarter, second best was Mark Smith who very rarely plays a bad game, third best was Ned Wilkie who also is having a great season, fourth best was Tim Sullivan in another wonderful game, fi h best was Nathan Brotherton who has been an important member of the side this year with his excellent defensive efforts, sixth best was Mr. consistent Zack Williams. A er a week off we head to Glencoe to take on the benchmark side of the last few years Kalangadoo. The last 2 games Kalangadoo have managed to secure hard fought wins but being a final, anything is possible.

NETball club notes Junior 1: What a top way to finish the season girls, I'm extremely proud of each and everyone of you girls we as a team has come so far this season. From a team that was pre y much brand new at the start and by the end of the season we made it OUR team. You 9 girls have really shown to me what determina on is and whatever you put your mind to and set that goal anything is possible. Mia great effort in defence and all over the court, you have improved so much this year and you have made it perfectly clear, you love to play just in defence and don't like to run but no ma er where we put you, you always do your job. Lilly our new girl this season, what a season you have had, no ma er where you play you always do your best. Lucy well you made it clear that you love to run so centre is definitely your go to spot. Kasey what a great season you have had no ma er where we put you as coaches you do exactly that, you bring everyone into the game. Kordan unfortunately you missed some games this season due to soccer but the games that you were able to make was a great help with your height, and you love to play defence which is great. Addison a great season you have had, you have listened to every bit of informa on we have given you and you have always tried your best at it which will make your netball so much be er in the future, you love to shoot and that's great, we need more goalies. Torah our li le quiet girl and the youngest in the team u have come so far this season and improved so much you should definitely be very proud of yourself you have come out of your shell the last couple of weeks and you have found your voice which is nothing but suppor ve language that comes out no ma er where we put you, you always ask how you could do be er and things you have learnt which is great to know, you should be very proud of yourself. Kia our li le giggle pot, you have truly shown your self this year and it's amazing to see you have improved so much this season, you made it clear you don't like to run but when you do you do your job and that's all that ma ers. Ivy one of our oldest this season, what a way that you bring the li le ones into the game, your support towards everyone doesn't go unrecognised, you made it clear you don't like to run and you love to wait ll the last minute to do things, you love to make everyone laugh and you love to make everyone happy, you should be proud of the person you are Ivy and you’re going to go a long way in life and with your netball. Best players went to everyone. Way to go girls. Junior 2: Well done girls on our last game for the year. Everyone tried their best, and I think everyone had a ball. We have some awesome li le junior netballers that will be a great asset for our club in the future. I look forward to watching these girls grow and blossom. They have all come a long way, and I had great fun coaching them. Best players went to Des ny (Bakers), Emilee (KFC), Ana (Dominos), Emily (Donut) and Lily (Hungry Jacks). 13 & Under: Great game to end our year with a good win. Everyone has improved some much this year. Can’t wait to see you all back on the court next year. 15 & Under: Well done girls, it was a difficult game and you all fought hard and unfortunately didn't come out on top. We are s ll trying to get the hang of the all new combina ons across the court as well! Now onto finals! Best players: Lara Wilson and Sophie Lewis. 17 & Under: What an awesome end to our season. However, ending sooner than what we would have hoped for. I am so proud of every single one of you! I am grateful you have all given me your me and put in all the effort I asked for every week. I can not wait un l next year to re coach some of you and also see the top age girls from this year, thrive into our senior teams. They will be lucky to have you whatever grade you play. Best players: Ruby Wallace and Arriella Smith.

B Reserve: Good game to finish up the minor round with. We need to be pa ent with our passes and play our own game. Let's get ready for the first final and switch on right from the start. Great shoo ng by Maddy and excellent defence by Ariella. B Grade: Very windy condi ons at Kongorong made us play in front and have short sharp passes, which matched our speed and drive to the ball. The first quarter was the most difficult, we played into the wind and had to adjust our game accordingly. The second quarter was our strongest quarter forging ahead. A strong whole court defence created turnovers. We capitalised on the turnovers we created and in spite of the windy condi ons, the goalies, Candice and Tayla were able to score. The defensive du es were undertaken by Jen, Kristy, Kelly and Mackenzie. The defensive combina ons between these girls were at mes brilliant as they got deflec ons and intercep ons. Many balls had to be chased down due to the weather condi ons and Abbi and De teamed well to u lise these lose balls. De and Abbi work well together passing the ball around to create opportuni es and feed some beau ful balls into the goal circle. Georgia played a great game playing four different posi ons and combining with her teammates. I'm so proud of the juniors we have in our team and the hard work they have shown at training and on the court. Your netball skills have grown in many ways and it's been wonderful to be a part of your development. Well done Kristy, McKenzie and Lara. On a personal note I would like to thank the B Grade team for a wonderful season of netball. This year we have had lots of unexpected circumstances and challenges thrown our way. Through grit, determina on and persistence we have pulled together as a team and managed to get through. I am proud of the team and what we have accomplished. Thank you to Georgia and Tayla who joined our team as a result of player season ending injuries. You have both become a much loved team members. Thanks to Sal for your support each week. I'd also like to thank Lyndall for scoring each week and doing a wonderful job. Finally I wish all the Port MacDonnell netball and football teams good luck in the finals. Best players and awards: Abbi Nellthrope (The Bay Pizzeria), MacKenzie Millard (Chemist King). A Reserve: Good game girls - needed the win to secure our finals posi on. Very windy condi ons saw the ball being held up in the air, which reminded us we needed to come forward onto the ball. The game was very ght the whole way through but we where able to hold on for the win. Best: Belinda O'Dine. A Grade: What a great way to finish our year girls with a win! We wanted this win and we got it. Everyone all worked hard to get it and deserved it. Best players: Jess Trench (Fasta Pasta), Michelle Moore (The Bay Pizzaria). ROBE ROOSTERS football club notes Junior Colts: For the last home and away game of the season we hosted Mount Burr. Although the Burr were struggling with numbers we knew coming into the game It wasn’t going to be easy and that certainly was the case. We came out a li le bit flat and were bounced in the opening half. We were able to gain control of possession but costly misses in front of goal meant Mount Burr had the lead at half me. Thankfully our backline stood tall and didn’t let much through for he remainder off the game. The second half was more of the footy we would like to be playing in the next few weeks with our midfield being able to take control and a forwards looking extremely dangerous when it got inside 50. We were able to run out convincing winners in the end by 7 goals. The challenge was exactly what we needed going forward coming off a few lighter weeks a hard fought contest puts us in good stead for the fun me of the year. As we look forward, Glencoe awaits us this weekend in an elimina on final where I’m sure there will be a sea of red and white support for the boys. Many of the younger boys will be playing in their first finals series which is really exci ng and a credit to them and the rest of the team for making it this far. Hope to see as many people at the Burr this weekend and hopefully kick the finals series off in a posi ve manner. Senior Colts: Last week, the footy gods looked down on us with great pleasure as they rewarded the Robe footballers with a beau ful clear day for football. With spring around the corner, we can smell the freshly mown lawn and finals atmosphere. The Robe Senior Colts took on Mt Burr at home and wanted to finish the season undefeated, launching into finals with confidence. The boys were heading into the game without their fearless leader Jesse Robertson due to a 'chicken incident'. Mt Burr always bring their intensity and run in every ba le and last week was no different. With our home deck and a slight breeze, the game was on. The ba le started in the middle with the Rooster boys hustling the ball forward and sending the ball into the forward line on mul ple occasions. It was clear from the outset that Flynn Peel and Ollie Hagge were going to have a massive impact

on our clearances from the centre. We went into the quarter me break with a 21-point lead. In the second quarter, Mt Burr came out firing and sent the ball deep into their 50 several mes and the Robe defence was scrambling. The backs held up well and only allowed 2 points to scrape through. The solid backline unit of Hudson Peel, Clayton, Jay Lines, Riley Sutherland and Sam Newton created plenty of run off half back. We piled on another 4 goals before half me with Codee Weston ge ng his kicking books on (ending up with 6 goals for the day). We went into half me with a healthy 44-point lead and no sign of slowing down. In the last half, the Robe boys went into overdrive and waltzed the ball out of the midfield with Ethan Cornish using his pace to clear the ball from the centre circle. We piled on another 12 goals before the game was complete and everyone in the team chipped in with 9 different goal kickers. Overall, a great me effort and plenty of excitement leading into finals. The Rooster boys have a week off and play Hatherleigh in the second semi at Glencoe. We are looking forward to an exci ng finals series and playing some football worth watching. See you there Rooster fans! Tom 'Woka' Wachtel A Grade: The match. At Robe saw the end of the 2021 season with Robe hoping to regain some form prior to its final matches and Mt Burr playing for pride. A shower of rain at the end of the Reserves saw the oval a bit greasy which was not conducive to clean open football. Robe won the toss and kicked to the town end aided by a cross breeze and started well but as expected the Mozzies put a lot of pressure on the ball carrier however their skill level and the first half of football was hard at it, no easy kicks and goals were hard to come by. The second half opened up and Robe were able to control the ball. Robe however were inaccurate and could not get full results for their hard work. Robe had a more potent forward line with Dickinson, Laurie, Sneath and Deane. These four had a great tussle with the Wallis boys which was worth the entrance fee alone. Robe ran out winners by eight goals. Calcu a: Jack Kelly, Kaden Woodward, Bill Laurie.

netball club notes Junior 2: Last game and the girls came out like they have every week and didn't give up. The first quarter took the girls a bit to get into but the second quarter they really li ed and got right in there. The girls in defence had a ripper day; they got touches on lots of balls resul ng in turnovers but just had some struggles ge ng it into our a ackers. Incen ve went to Scarle Ferguson for a cracker game in defence. She got up for every rebound and got many intercepts. She stuck to her player which got us some much needed turnovers. Amazing job girls! Junior 1: Well, that's a junior netball wrap for 2021. A er having 12 months off with no netball it was awesome to get back out there with the kids and burn off some excess energy. This year we were lucky enough to be given brand new netball dresses organised by the club. Thank you to the Bendigo Bank for these, the kids thought it was THE BEST, as did I. We had 3 new girls who are new to the game join our team this year which has been great. We've had the best season with loads of laughs and lots of fun. I just can't believe how much you've all improved through the season and we sure do have a cool bunch of kids at our club. Big thanks to the parents for taking their kids to all the games and helping with scoring, ming, and other du es. The early mornings aren't much fun some mes but worth it when you see the smiles on their faces. Good luck to the Under 17's netball team in finals wooo hooo! 13 & Under: Robe 18 Mt Burr 35. Girls had a great game and played brilliantly in some parts of the game. All the things we have focused on during the year, were evident in this game. The girls have really learnt how to lead in front and use space to drive the ball forward. Our defensive pressure was also impressive, and we were able to create many intercepts. Girls have made such improvement over the year and it has been nice to see the end result in this game. Best player (The Project) went to Millie Fennell. Meg Schubert got the incen ve (Salubrious Hour). 15 & Under: Robe 24 Mt Burr 48. In their final game for 2021 our 9 girls played the top side admirably. They kept the margin smaller than last me, showed determina on and never dropped their head. And even kept their big smiles. Best player (The Project) went to Emily Dew who pulled off some classy intercepts against much taller opponents and worked well with our dynamo defence partner Tilly. Incen ve (Mahalia Coffee) went to Hapaira who did well in WA and stepped up in defence in the last quarter. Thank you to Kim Ross for coaching the last couple of weeks and to Stacey Wirth as our team manager. Looking forward to watching all these girls grow in the game of netball. 17 & Under: Robe 38 Mt Burr 31. Finals baby! What an absolute stella effort by everyone. Such a great team game to watch, you all backed each other and capitalised on those 2nd efforts! Defence got their hands to everything, and you talked/directed each other it was a pleasure to watch. A ackers and goalies worked relessly against tall defenders and kept us on our toes. Maddie stayed strong under pressure and sunk those goals earning herself best player (Salubrious Hour). Captain Maisie pulled her team over the line by direc ng play, strong defence and posi ve encouragement down the court taking away the incen ve (Robe Hair Affair). As

I said I would have given you all an incen ve if I could of - so proud of you all! We've got to keep that faith and support in each other as we can achieve it all, you've just got to want it! Let's back it up and take the Burr on at the Burr! B Reserve: Robe 25 Mt Burr 44. This game was all arms and legs as we expected with plenty of combos tousling every quarter. We juggled 10 players with finesse, no dropped heads, big smiles and everyone happy to let all have a go. How lucky am I to be their coach? Super lucky! Even the girls agree that we seem to always take a quarter to warm up. The defence worked hard against tall goalies and it was good to see Rhi in there making a difference with rebounds (Incen ve – Coastal Club). I must admit how much I love playing with Al Nunan in goals - a er many years of defence together we are s ll piffing balls at each other and knowing where to go. The centre court area had many changes but that seemed okay too as no-one got stuck in a rut. Calcu a (Steve's Place) went to Jess Svic, one of our more versa le players, who played in a ack feeding well into the ring. Good stuff Jess. Thanks to our team manager Bianca Svic - it was great to have you involved girl, and to Sez Girvan for coaching the last couple of weeks. All that's le is presos and the end of the year trip more good mes in the pipeline. B Grade: Robe 11 Mt Burr 27. We played our final match of the season, unfortunately we haven't had the most successful season but hopefully all the girls have had fun along the way. We knew we were in with a chance to beat Mt Burr but it wasn't meant to be. We had some great passages of play and our skills have improved over the course of the year which is great to see. But unfortunately, we weren't ge ng all of our goals in and this was evident on the scoreboard. Calcu a (The Cally) went to Phoebe who had many turnovers in defence and incen ve (The Union) went to Tamara who once again put in a consistent 4 quarters in the mid court. Hope to see most of you girls back out again next season! A Reserve: Robe 28 Mt Burr 42. Started the game nice and strong playing some controlled netball which was so nice to watch. Throughout the game we resorted back to some of our inconsistent rushed and sca ering netball but as per usual we never dropped our heads. Shelby and Belle combined so well together in the ring demanding where they wanted the ball earning them Incen ve (Hairport) and Calcu a (Loaves & Fishes) respec vely. Big thanks to the best team manager Georgie. And to our U17's Maisie and Billie for helping for the whole year, good luck in finals! Such a pleasure to coach this year girls, things haven't gone our way on many occasions but you all kept your spirits! A Grade: Robe 32 Mt Burr 44. For the last game of the season, we were pumped to finish off on a high. Unfortunately, it wasn't our day and Mount Burr were too good. We gave it a good shot and some great passages of play, but just couldn't maintain the momentum. Even though we haven't got the wins on the board, it has been a successful season for our team moving forward. We are looking forward to next year and coming out faster, higher and stronger. Calcu a (Me & Miss Jones) Sarah Laurie, Incen ve (The Project) Georgia Perkins.

We always knew we were going to be up against it with a lot of players unavailable but they were far too good and really deserve to be compe on favourites. Unfortunately that brings an end to our 2021 season. I would just like to thank everyone who has helped out on and off the field, it's been a challenging year for the Reserve's side with lot of older players re ring but we have a number of new faces at the club which is great for the future.

NETball club notes Junior 2: What a beau ful day for our last game of netball at Hatherleigh. The girls were excited to play against all their school mates and was great to see them all warming up together, laughing and having fun! We once again had some great passages of play, we just need to all remember what posi ons we are, what our job is and where we need to be on the court. We will work on this all again next year. Your improvement from when we first started is AMAZING and you should all be very proud of yourselves. But most of all you are a great bunch of li le girls and it has been the best year coaching you all. Awards went to Lidi (Hungry Jacks), every week your moving into space is sensa onal, and to Polly (Wa le Range Trading), your confidence con nues to grow every game. Well done li le Tiges! Junior 1: J1's final game for season 2021, what wonderful development you have shown throughout the season. You have all become great li le netballers. Thank you for your determina on, enthusiasm and great team spirit, you should be very proud of the netballers you have all become! We wish Peyton Bowman and Tamika Long all the best for next year as they move into 13s. 13 & Under: Last game for the season and it was an absolutely great game against Hatherleigh! You came out strong and con nued to put in loads of effort even though it was rather hot. Your team work was great as you actually talked to each other on the court and were there to back each other up. Everyone made an effort to get intercepts all down the court and took the me to find someone who was in front when passing. You girls have come so far since the start of the season, the improvement in your skills and determina on have been a highlight. This season you may have been at the bo om of the ladder but you never dropped your head. I hope to see you all next year for another season as you will be bigger and be er. Very proud of you girls. 15 & Under: Another game where some of our players got to play a posi on not normally played. It was a bit rocky in the first half and took a bit for everyone to adjust. Well done Molly and Holly for having a crack down the opposite end. That said we went back to normal posi ons in the last quarter out scoring Hatherleigh 6 goals 4. So proud of you all for achieving this. A great game by Lailah who used her voice and backed up her team all game giving her the KFC Award. Kailah also moved well in

a ack with strong leads ge ng the Ducky's Award. Ebony tried hard at GD and then played a great half game at GA giving her the Gino’s Award and Kaitlyn listened and put this on court earning herself the McDonalds Award. Well done girls. Thanks to all who umpired the 15's and a huge thank you to all the parents for you input during the year. B Reserve: The girls came out firing for the last game against a strong Hatherleigh side. It took us a while to slowly se le into the game but unfortunately we made too many errors and they were just too good for us. A big thank you to Ella and Charlo e for helping us out and playing a half each. Best players Kim Ballintyne who worked nonstop in defence all game ge ng hands to lots of balls and Tarrah Taylor who was fantas c in a ack direc ng the play and feeding the ball into a ack. Thanks for the great season girls. A pity we just missed out on finals, bring on 2022! B Grade: Wow what a game! We knew it was going to be a tough one and had to be at the top of our game to come away with the points and we did, doing the li le things well. Coming in front, working hard and backing each other up, driving the ball down the court and playing a great team game. We take on the Eagles again in today's 1st semi so let's keep that momentum going and work hard as a team to get that win. A Reserve: A hard fought ba le last week, I feel as though at mes we really did make it more difficult for ourselves than we needed, however we managed to pull away in the end and finish off stronger! It's finals me now, and now we're in the business end of the season! We need to con nue to work hard and execute our game plan and the scoreline will con nue to take care of itself! Now to the next challenge! Let's enjoy the week now, we've done the work, we just need to allow it to all come together so that come this Saturday, we are the side advancing through to the prelim! Our defensive pressure has been a highlight throughout the last weeks and we need that to not stop now but to really step it up as we must do in a ack too! Let's train hard and let's come out firing this week! A Grade: A disappoin ng finish to a hard fought game. We showed a high work rate for majority of the game but saw it lapse towards the end. A lot of posi ves to take from it though and let's go into this week’s training with a lot of intensity. Exci ng mes ahead girls, let's work hard for it. Best players went to Em and Vic.
