This weekend Peter Guye Junior will play his 300th senior game for the Mozzies, becoming just the 11th Mount Burr player to reach the 300-game milestone since the club began keeping accurate records in 1976.
Peter will be the club’s first father-son 300 game player with his father, Peter Senior (308) having also played more than 300 games.
Peter Junior began his playing career in under 14's working his way through the ranks to become one of the club’s most reliable senior players.
During his playing career Peter has played in 5 A Grade premierships (2010-11, 2015-16-17) and 2 losing grand finals, he also missed the 2009 season (and premiership) due to work.
A dedicated clubman, Peter is always willing to help around the club and took on the role of B Grade coach in 2018 and ‘19. Congratula ons Peter on 300 games.

football club notes
This week we welcome past players from both the football and netball, along with the premiership reunion of the Reserves football, 2002-2004 three-peat, coached by Darren Hawkins. Many are returning to the club from quite a distance away, we appreciate their efforts, and hope they enjoy their day
We also take the opportunity to support Beyond Blue this week, so please donate in the dona on boxes around the club(s). Tommy Hunter will shave all his hair and beard off at the club Saturday night, so please donate to h ps://fundraise.beyondblu.org.au/hairf orcare in support of Tommy and Beyond Blue, and stay at the club to show your support for Tommy's efforts.
The South East Animal Welfare League are also recipients of our support this week, so please drop some dog or cat food (dry or canned) to the gate on your way in, or to the clubrooms this week or next. We do this in memory of our great friend and club person Wes Milne, who loved his animals and was a great supporter of SEAWL himself. Remember to check in on your mates, and look a er them, both on and off the field.
The games reviews from Port Mac are as follows:
Under 11: The young Hawks came up against a taller opposi on, but they didn't let that deter them, and con nued with their improvement, as they have each week. It was great to see the younger ones taking marks, and really ge ng involved in the game. Awards: Intersport - Jordan Collins, Coach's Award - Ted Ellis, Rob & Amy Whi y Award - Zach Paech, President's Award - Jack Maidment and Donut KingNash Brant.
Junior Colts: We had a disappoin ng loss on the weekend. Port Mac was a tough opponent, and despite the low scores, the boys didn't give up. As always, good teamwork and plenty of areas for us to work on at trainings. Awards: Declan Richardson – Lucas Family Award, Axel Page – Aussie Disposals Award, Logan Cordy Spot-On Fishing Tackle Award, Blake Telford –Janeway Plumbing Award, Ryan Lucas –Paradise Pizza Award and Koby Galloway finished out the best players.
Senior Colts: A tough game against the Bay. Well done to the lads that come up from junior colts each week and have a red hot go, a er having already played a full game. Also all the colts, both junior and senior, that go on to do du es such as boundary and water a er they play, some mes two games. Your efforts are appreciated by all. Awards: Jobe Janeway – MT Wheels Award, Tyler Richardson – Swallow Drive Meats Award, Cohen Galpin – Mick Mullan
Award, Harrison Elletson – Coach's Award, Ryan Lucas – Badenoch's Deli Award and Axl Von Stanke also ra ng a men on.
Reserves: Heartbreaking stuff. With no one le on the bench and guys going down all over the place, we looked like we were going to hold on for a brave win with a couple of minutes to go. Unfortunately the Bay had other ideas, and to their credit were too good in the end. Hard loss to take, but couldn't be any prouder of everyone who wore the yellow and black. Paul Ellis was impassable for the Commercial Hotel Award. James 'Tex' Allen played beyond his years, for the Collins Court Butchers Award. Geoff Hay worked relessly for the Pick Avenue Deli Award. Sam Whitehead was hard and tough all day and got the Club Tea. John Simkin couldn't be beaten up forward and got the Killara Food Centre Award and Andrew Telford was inspira onal for the other Club Tea Award. Huge congratula ons to Andrew 'Noddy' Telford for playing his 150th game for the club. Noddy is a fantas c club man who has got be er every year and is now playing career best football. He never misses training when he's home from his fifo work and sets the standard for how a good player should prepare, lead and play for everyone in the club. Well done Noddy, the club is very proud of you.
Seniors: A slow start for the boys, coming into the game with 14 players missing out of our star ng line up at the beginning of the season, and 2 players down with shoulder injuries in the first quarter, the boys were up against it. To their credit, the Bay ran, spread and carried the ball really well for the first half. A er half me, in the third, it was a bit more of a dead heat, before the Bay slo ed a few in the last minutes. Then in the last quarter, the boys fought back, to win the last quarter in a very hard slog out there, against a well drilled Pt MacDonnell team. Jake Whi y took out best on the day, limi ng his opponents to minimal possessions, taking home the Commercial Hotel Award. Will Vickery worked relessly all day to receive the Collins Court Butcher Award, followed by Riley Maconachie with the Killara Food Centre Award. Corben O'Dea's return to the field saw him earn the Club Tea Award, along with Ethan Norman. Je A ard rounded out the best players with the Pick Ave Deli Award.
Kongorong Cup is on a er the Mt Burr away game (only a few weeks away) so make sure you have booked your cket(s). A new look/venue this year, but a great night of 'racing' to be had.
HATHERLEIGH EAGLES
football club notes seniors
A Grade: A heavy deck greeted us last week, but this me there was even a li le bit of sunshine. We started like a house on fire, kicking 2 quick goals before Glencoe had a chance to se le. Disappoin ngly, we lost our way for a bit, chasing kicks and not manning up enough. Glencoe made us pay and kicked 3 goals of their own. A er a quiet work at the break, we took control of the game, not allowing them to kick a goal un l the last quarter. Meanwhile, we had an even spread of goal kickers, with J Wight and Hutchy both kicking 4. Best players were Slapey in the ruck, Will Chay again in the middle. Hutchy and Sully for their roles up forward and in the middle and Webby on the wing.

B Grade: Well what a start to the second round of the season. With the back 6 star ng forward and the forward 6 star ng back! Not by the coaches instruc ons. Onya skip, lucky Joe Rayson found the big s cks for our first goal, otherwise we would of never heard the end of it if a defender kicked the first goal. A er that li le mishap and the boys back in there normal spots, we got the game flowing our way and dug in for a big win.
Congratula ons to Flynn Kain on ge ng threw his first game a er coming back a er a major knee injury, exci ng mes watching this kid take to the field! Reidy controlled the ball across half back and used his smarts to repel at all chances to be best on. Je Faulkner kicked 5 snagrolls, Son of a gun Rayson had another great game, Ethan Bowman had another great game in and under Sid reeves ba led out all day up forward and in the ruck to round the best out!
Senior Colts: The boys came up against a determined Glencoe side and had to work hard for the points. It was great to see the boys play their role in the side
and not rely on the same contributors each week. We also got the chance to play some junior colts in our side, in which they all played their part. Tyson Atkinson dominated in the midfield kicking 4 goals. Aus n Ne le impacted on the scoreboard and around the ground. Ethan Marshall played a great game, using the ball with great efficiency. While Cohen Clark and Cooper Walters both played their best game of the year up forward.
Junior Colts: Unfortunately we didn't get the result we wanted on the weekend but couldn't fault the teams efforts. I feel we are very close against the top sides with a few top age inclusions hopefully we can match it with them. Ned Fitzgerald was our first best, had a job on there forward I thought he done well and gave plenty of run out of the backline, Billy Bowering 2nd best. Billy has been playing some really good footy this year his ability to read the play and take the the game on is good to see for a first year junior colt. Henry Bowering 3rd best had a good game on the wing, layed some good tackles and had some good runs with the ball. Harry Baker 4th best back from college this week played centre half back, really strong above head and used his good skills to hit up targets. Thomas Atkinson 5th best, Tommy repeat efforts in the back line were a highlight for his game, in and under player never gave up.
Under 11: This week we took on Glencoe at home. A er a close first quarter we se led and kicked a few goals. There were some good plays of footy with some beau ful kicks and marks. Best players today were Jameson, Sam, Harris, Max, and Hugo.

Junior Colts: Last week’s game proved to be a very compe ve contest. Players from both sides really did give everything they had and most tanks were fairly empty by the end of the game. The oval, although so , was in reasonable condi on; the boys adjusted quickly to the condi ons, producing a good number of slick passages of crea ve, intense footy. The young roosters should be proud of themselves, because of their ability to withstand the pressure that the Kalangadoo guys were applying. They kept focussing on ge ng the ball and moving it forward as quickly as possible, doing the ‘team’ things, with each player quite simply playing their role and doing the best that they possibly could. This produced a hard earnt 3 goal victory. A er the break due to the S.A. Country Championships, I’m sure the boys will be raring to go against Port Mac. I’m sure that our guys will be very determined to improve on our last performance against the Demons. We are now in forth place on the ladder. The next month will determine if we stay in the top 4. The challenge is there! Our more consistent players over the 4 quarters (in no par cular order) were John Hinchliffe, Dylan Thomas, Byron Carter, Vinnie Moore, Eli Jess, Flynn Collins, Brodie Dew. John was also selected as our
team’s best player and received the ‘Wayne Carey’ (Duck) medal. Incen ve awards went to John Hinchliffe (Union Café’), Byron Carter (Robe Seafood and Takeaway), Joey McKenny (Rosie’s). Joey kicked 3 of our 6 goals and was instrumental in 2 others. All the best for this week. Have a red hot go!
A Grade: Robe travelled to Kalangadoo a er having convincingly won matches against lesser opposi on in the past two months. The match against the Doo’s was a tougher challenge and provided the team with honest feedback as to how they were travelling a er the first round. Kalangadoo got the early jump on the roosters in the first quarter and Robe could not bridge this gap. The remainder of the match was evenly balanced , a hard fought affair which the Robe sided needed as they are to face the tougher end of the draw in the next couple of weeks. It was the first match that James and George Du on had played A Grade for Robe and they both featured in the best players along with Woodward and Lawrie. Other players for Robe who had moments were Bryant Dunn J Robertson and Miller. Robe will need to li their intensity and put in a four quarter effort in the next month to ensure that they remain on top of the table.

Mini Colts: Another great game from the boys today. Best players sponsored by Muffin Break Jagger Macdonald, Nixon Macdonald, Zachary Howard, Aus n Hopgood, Harry Blacksell.
Junior Colts: A er coming off a loss last week, it was good to come up against another quality side in Kongorong. We worked on things during the week at training to make sure we got off to a good start on game day, and it was pleasing to see the players put on a good performance for the en re 4 quarters. A big thank you to all players to volunteered to turn their jumpers inside out and help fill the Kongorong side each quarter. It demonstrates a great a tude and willingness to help others. Encouragement awards winners are Charlie Carroll, Kane Gilbert, Cody Vandepeer, Je Lewis, and Oli Fox. Best players were extremely hard to pick this week as all players filled their roles tremendously. A great team effort.

Senior Colts: A er 4 weeks of not playing at home due to byes and away games, this week we welcomed Kongorong to a fresh Port Mac oval. The first 5 minutes the boys were a bit slow to get going but once they kicked into gear, they kicked 6 goals to 1 to get a nice lead. A 3 goal to nothing 2nd quarter set up a 9-goal lead at hal ime, with Phoenix and Keilghe kicking a goal each. It was a tale of 2 halves though, as the next 2 quarters Kongorong out worked us kicking 4 goals to our 1. Fortunately, the accurate kicking in the first half proved to work in our favour and the boys s ll came home with a solid win 70 to 32. The boys will con nue to get to training and put in extra work to keep building as the 2nd half of the season progresses. With 26 kids available it is important to train to keep spots and game me. Best players sponsored by Key2Sale were skipper Riley Morgan who has had a good few weeks, ever so reliable Archie New, Pa y Robinson had a good game on the wing, Kai Gilmore kicked some important early goals and had been showing his talent, Zeb Chant was everywhere, and Luke Richards did normal Luke Richards things.
B Grade: Port MacDonnell 6.9 def Kongorong 7.2. With the weather forecast predic ng showers, it was hard to believe the sunshine that brightened most of the day although the air-chill factor said it was much colder than the predicted temp of 13 degrees. We hosted our “country cousins” Kongorong with the oval looking in good nick considering the rainfall recently and while it was slippery a er scuds of drizzling rain it was not a mud pit by the end of the game. While the Snr Colts like their hip hop and “doof doof” music, the B Grade game started out like the dueling banjo's from Deliverance! It was a real Ha ield and McCoy type of thing with 2 goals apiece at the first change and for once our ability to miss giving us the edge with 3 points in front. With a banjo twanging, the K boys responded, and we barely kept the lead a er some more point making on our part. (The Sheet of Shame got a bit of a workout this week) Thankfully, Rhys “Reggie” Timms can not only take the mark but kick the big ones too, with a handy 4 goals by the end of the game while Aaron Harding and Joel Newton-Anderson helped with 1 each. Red haired (not redneck) Rory “Roz” Na rass scored the B.O G gong, not only leading by example in the ght clinches around the defensive end but in the push forward out of the back line. Grady “Hound dog“ Hutchesson ranged all over the ground like a bloodhound on the scent of a rabbit, stopping the forward momentum of the K Boys at every turn along with Jack “JD Kentucky B” Cawthorne who
barreled through the centre packs like a knife through bu er. Both boys earned themselves a place on the BP List. Ever reliable,“Pappy“ Ma Roscow steadied the field as always, showin' those young'uns a thing or two in switching the play and crea ng opportuni es up forward. The two Nathans (N “Billy” Tilley and N ”Bobby” Brotherton) also got a men on with their tenacity on the ball, especially during the last half when we dropped the lead during the 3rd by a handful of points. At the last break Coach Addy went off like a moonshine s ll explosion with a spray urging the boys to find that extra li for the last quarter of this “Kissin' cousins” feudal fight. To their credit the McBay boys kept pushing despite the K lads ge ng an early goal and the possibility of another loss was looming. It was a white-knuckle race to the finish with both sides making unforced errors and the packs becoming more aggressive. Our endeavor for that extra goal was the difference between a party or a pout when the final siren blew. As Adam said, “it's not over ll the fat lady sings” and it certainly shows when we have a few more turn up to training! Proving there's no reason why we can't finish the season with a few more wins and the next in line is Robe. With the music of ”Sweet Home Alabama” in my head… Y'all come back now ya hear! Go Demons!
A Grade: Port MacDonnell 24.21 def Kongorong 4.7. It was business as usual here at the Bay with the weather delivering on its promise of cool, showery condi ons and an air chill factor that made you believe it was less than the expected top temperature. The playing surface looked in good condi on despite earlier rainfalls during the week and the morning traffic had not muddied the ground too much. The boys were eager to get the local derby underway and exploded out of the gates with a 7 goal burst to zip in the first quarter keeping the pressure on and not le ng the opposi on score a major un l the 3rd. Controlling the ball from the bounce Will MacDonald and Tim Sullivan fed the runners with precision taps with Kyall McClean and Coach Josh Woodall clearing it with style to our forwards with a minimum of fuss. In an embarrassing wealth of goals Colby Munro and Josh Woodall effec vely sealed Kongorong's fate with 5 goals each as Will MacDonald and Tim Sullivan added 3 apiece while changing from the ruck. Doubles from Jake Schleter, Kyall McClean and Liam Bo omley added to Kongorong’s misery while singles from Ned Wilke and Mark Smith rounded out the 24 goal haul. It was a fantas c team effort with standout performances from several players at differing mes showing our depth and consistency. Lochie Tilley ran amok all over the ground as did Mark Smith, breaking through the packs with ease and delivering the ball from the flanks with efficiency. Luke Richardson and Kai Gilmore (Snr Colts) are improving their skills with every match they play with the team and the depth of players coming through will see success in the club for years to come, I'm sure. Leading by example Josh Woodall (coach) received the B.O G, closely followed by Will MacDonald. Alex Ridding also earned a nod on the list along with Liam Bo omley, Kyall “K-Mac” McClean and reliable workhorse Wade Chant. As far for our finals campaign this year, the Robe game will be probably one of the most important we'll play in the race to finish line. Let's keep the momentum going! Train hard to play hard! Go Demons.

Junior Colts: A er coming off their first win the boys were up and about for the Tant game, however so were Tant. They came out and kicked away in the first half. The boys responded well and kept their heads up throughout all four quarters. In the third term they kept Tant scoreless. Standouts were Levi who looked dangerous with the ball no ma er where he was on the ground. Logan who for the second week in a row shut down the opposi on’s best player and Reed who was inspiring in the ruck.
Senior Colts: Last game we travelled to Tant to take on an undefeated team and we're shown we s ll have a bit of work to do if we want to compete with the best sides. The boys tried hard but couldn't make any headway on Tant’s comfortable lead. Best players were Charlie Bevan, Jackson Dean, Caleb Carr,
Deklan Brant and Heath Johnston.
B Grade: It was nice to get back on the winners list last week when we played Tantanoola on Saturday. The first half was very even and we took a 2 goal lead into half me. In the second half we got on top and controlled the ball. Despite having all the play we wasted opportuni es in the third quarter and went goalless. This changed in the last when we were about to put the score on the board and we ran away with a convincing win. Best players were Jacob Gregory who found a lot of the footy, Brodie Robbins with his 4 goal last quarter, Ed Ballantyne who is back to his best, Harvey Muhovics and Lachie Alcock. Hopefully we can use last weekend’s break to refresh some bodies so that we can be really compe ve in the back half of the season.

It was a perfect day for footy at Magpie Park as we welcomed AFL royalty in the great Wayne Carey to the club in what provided a real buzz of excitement around the ground from all ages. It was a treat to have the Duck there from 8.30 in the morning and speak to all 3 junior sides before their games along with presen ng medallions to both Kalangadoo & Robe U11’s & U14’s a er their games. Credit to Wayne as he never red of smiling for photos or signing footys & jumpers throughout the day. Congratula ons to all at the club who made this happen as it takes a lot of work, and no doubt will be fondly looked back on in years to come by a lot of our juniors.
Minis: Once again greeted at the gate by Auldy selling his raffle ckets and by 9.00 and the minis kicking off was already a good crowd gathering at the ground. With a huge amount of numbers Boxy extended the oval to ¾ of the ground and once again we were treated to some quality football from the youngest Maggies with team 1st approach evident and the work at training each week really star ng to show. Just watching the mini’s alone provides a level of excitement and just starts the day off right.

Junior Colts: What a game by the junior colts and a huge turnaround from the round 1 game. Macca has been really working on some key components at training and we got to see this 1st hand during the game. We managed to get a couple of early goals in a real high level qtr of footy by the Maggies to be only 1 point down at the 1st break. The 2nd quarter was a ba le of defences with neither side le ng a goal through and Robe holding a 3-point lead at the half. The 3rd started very similar to the 1st with some posi ve ball movement all over the ground and defenders work hard but couldn’t quite stem the gap to be down by only 10 points at the final break. The final qtr was a real ba le and whist con nued our posi ve bran of footy and scoring we couldn’t quite hold them to go down by only 18 points. Best players went to Joe Box, Dante GibbonsClark, Mason Meulenmeesters, Lachy McCann, Joshua Manninen and Elodie Burr Congratula ons to Joe Box on receiving “A Day with the Duck” award for best Kalangadoo player.
Senior Colts: Another tough day for our colts as they came up against a full strength Roosters ou it with a few of their boys home from school. But the lads with some addi onal numbers from a few Nangwarry lads on loan under permit went out with the aim to put up a fight and make sure that the much hyped up Roosters didn’t get their own way for the 4 quarters. While they jumped out of the blocks in the 1st the Maggies worked their way into the game compe ng hard on every line and winning a fair share of the footy but in the end the weight of numbers and experience on every line proved too much but probably one of the more complete and compe ve games that our clots have been involved in against a toprated side. Again, thank you to the Nangwarry lads who put their hand up for a game. Best players went to Brycie, Harry, Benne Moy, Connor and Dean in his best game for the black & white. Congratula ons to Brycie for receiving “A day with the Duck” award as best player for Kalangadoo
B Grade: A er a successful week against Kongorong the B Grade Lads were looking forward to another huge challenge in playing against the second placed team in Robe. The boys may have been a bit star struck with Wayne Carey at the game and this was reflected in a very sluggish start that enabled Robe to be in front a er the first quarter. The start of the second quarter saw a change with Brodie Von Stankie Dowie, Cam Auld and Jus n Mansell really started to get on top and provided Mitch Varcoe with numerous scoring opportuni es with Mitch in the end kicking 4 goals. Simmo was again one of the best on the ground for his work across half back with Nathan Reeves & Jonny Mules tremendous in the middle winning numerous centre clearances. A er a slow start the Magpies had a solid three last quarters to enable a 70 point victory. Looking forward to another challenge this coming Saturday against Mount Burr
A Grade: A er a solid week on the track and ge ng close to a full list to pick from there were a few headaches for Lynsey and the coaching group at selec on table which is always a handy place to be coming into the second half of the year. With only a late change prior to the game everyone was se led, and Lynsey had them ready to go to work prior to the 1st bounce as wanted to turn the tables from round 1. From the 1st bounce hard contested ball was going to be the key with not allowing the roosters any me or space around the contest while we were prepared to break the lines consistently. This allowed our forwards plenty of me and space up forward and managed to jump the Roosters with a 33-to7-point opening quarter and then not look back from there. In t the 2nd scoring proved to be a bit harder as the roosters looked to close the game down by going defensive but with the back 6 holding firm and only allowing them the single goal while we increased the lead at the main break to 31 points. The 3rd was almost a repeat of the 3rd with some hard contested footy and with the Roosters looking to play more of the body instead of the ball meant the Maggies had more chances to control the play around the ground and if wasn’t for some inaccurate kicking could have been a lot further in front at the final break than the 41 points on the scoreboard. We always knew they would come hard at some me and in the start of the last they threw everything at the maggies kicking the first 3 goals of the quarter to narrow the margin but with some good work from Brad, Sam, Tye, Haysey and Lachy in the middle managed to wrestle back ascendancy in the end to record and convincing 38 point win against the only unbeaten side this season. Best players went to Sammy Mac, Tye Mac, Lachy Jones, Brad Auld, Dylan Bromley & Ben Gregory
Congratula ons to our Captain in Mitch Lowe & Ben Gregory on making the SE Zone squad for the country champs.
Next up we head to the Burr in another big game where we look to turn the tables on a very narrow round 1 clash.
Make sure you’ve got your ckets organised for our Flight Night on Saturday the 15th at the RSL Terminal. Make sure you see Benny Gregory or Re for booking confirma on.

Under 11: With an early start in Mt Burr, both clubs scraped enough players together to get a good open game going. Some of our kids were excited to help out Mt Burr to even the teams out which was excellent to see. The kids started real well, kicking plenty of goals with the wind behind them. The skills were to a very good standard on a very open oval. They tackled and used each other to play as a real team. Some future stars
Junior Colts: I'd like to start off by extending a massive thank you to the boys at Hatherleigh. We had 10 kids put their hand up to play for us and the burr on their bye and help out, so thank you to the boys that rocked up. It was really ght contest all game with only a few points in it at each break. It was a great game to watch from the side and our boys showing what they're capable of when we're switched on, it was pleasing to see everyone on the field playing a role in a really close game and 100% effort from everyone kept us within a goal for most of the game.
B Grade: What a way to start the second round with a win against Mt Burr, that keeps us in touch with the top four. S ll some room for improvement but overall a fantas c team effort. We now have two weeks off let's all rest up and be ready to play again Tant. As I said it was a great team effort. Congratula ons to Connor on kicking his first goal for the mighty Saints. Best BJ, Donny, Libba, Craig, Sco y, Jayden. A special men on for the work Jordan Hagget did in the last quarter, but he knows he has to do it all game. Goals Josh Clayfield 4, Craig Hicks 3, Big Benny Boy 2, Ben Juste 1, Connor Swindon 1. Go mighty Saints.

take on Mt Burr at home. The boys were eager to start well and to their credit they put a lot of scoreboard pressure on and played some really good team footy again. To the Mozzies credit they came back and played some really good footy in the 3rd quarter, using the ball well and breaking the lines. To our guys credit they con nue to work hard and want to improve every week, which seen us take away a very good win. Best players were Cade Kelly who kicked 7 goals, Ky, Shaunn, Blake and Cocky Well done and enjoy the bye.

Under 11: Last week we had a young but very talented team from Mount Burr, we managed to give them a few players each quarter to even up the teams and the game was very successful with every player ge ng a few kicks, didn't do the best this me, they are all li le superstars in my eyes!
Junior Colts: Last week we were back at home and came up against Mt Burr We finally got some nice weather for football and our boys and girls showed up switched on and ready to play. Our captain lead from the front and ran hard and worked both ways all day ge ng plenty of the ball into our forwards ge ng best on ground. Our other captain played a ripper as well kicking 6 goals. Summer won a majority of the ruck for us and got plenty of the ball around the ground ge ng third best followed by Grace fourth best. These two girls are going places so keep at it and I look forward to seeing you both playing for many years to come. Josh got fi h best kicking his first goal and Maxx Bevan got on the score board as well ge ng sixth best. It was a great team game by us and we are improving every week. Well done to all our boys that went over and filled in for Mt Burr and well done to their boys for staying posi ve and playing some good football. Good luck and hopefully you guys get some more numbers on the park next season.
Senior Colts: Last weekend seen us
Reserves: The first good weather Saturday in a long me saw us against Mount Burr at home. A tough hit out from start to finish, fitness proving the difference again and unfortunately weren't able to secure the W. Best player went to Mark Langley (Gino's voucher) playing midfield all day and racking up plenty of the ball. Other best players were Jake Bromley, Jack Patzel, Nathan Chapple (Somerset meal voucher) and Brad Williams.
A Grade: Last game we played Mt Burr at home. For the first me in a few weeks the weather was a great day for footy. We had a few injuries unfortunately but s ll determined to try and get a win against a team that just beat us last me we played them. We started really well playing great team football and just had the lead going into half me, feeling the Burr breathing down our neck we knew we really had to put in the hard yards for the last half. They kicked a couple quick goals to bring the score really close but we kicked a goal to break the trend and a er that a tremendous team performance with no lapses got us the win. We finished well and kicked away with it in the last. It was a great team performance as no one stood out. We did everything we have been work on right and showed our supporters we are going in the right place. Best to Players in no order: Jordy Ha (Sportspower), Marc Roberts (New Heaven), James Batchelor (Ladies Commi ee meal voucher), Laurie Persello (Ampol fuel voucher) and Jack Dawe.

Undoubtedly one of Hatherleigh’s most decorated players, Erin Watson began her compe ve netball career filling in for the 13&U side in 2008. A mid-court player, Erin's speed and agility paired with her determina on to succeed set the scene over the years that followed, culmina ng in her selec on to play at the highest level for the Newton Jaguars in Adelaide's Premier League in 2017.
In Erin's first season of 13&U in 2009 she took out the 13&U MSENA Best & Fairest, HNC Best & Fairest and Junior Consistency awards, this was the start of an avalanche of personal achievements going on to win:
· 2010 HNC 13&U R/UP Best & Fairest & Junior Consistency

round 12 preview
kongorong vs hatherleigh
The Eagles head to Kongorong this weekend to face off in what is set to be another close game. Hatherleigh’s Erin Watson and Kongorong’s Rachel Perry will have a good tussle through the centre, with both players figh ng to create turnovers and gain possession for their respec ve team. Kongorong’s Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey move well together within the circle, however, they will be under the defensive hands of Maddie Redman and Elly Redden, so will need to earn every goal. Hatherleigh’s goalies Demi Vanderhorst and Tegan Telfer are able to combine well in the circle, shoo ng with accuracy, however any loose balls will be snapped up by the Hawks’ defensive lineup of Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody. The Eagles will likely come away with the win again, but the Hawks will not go down without a fight.
robe vs port macdonnell
Robe host Port MacDonnell this weekend, and both teams will be vying for a spot in the top four. Port MacDonnell’s Alana Berkefeld and Alysha Coon have proven to be a tough defensive combina on and they will force turnovers from any rebounds provided by Robe’s Tori Gluyas and Demi Carter Down the other end of the court Demon goalies Megan Hein and Kori Collins work well together, however they will have pressure applied by Robe’s Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins. Robe mid courters Lucy Perkins and Annie Regnier will work the ball down the court with ease, however Port Mac’s Liza Mutch and Kate Faint will apply pressure and force turnovers. Robe are likely to finish the day with the points, however Port Mac will put up a fight and make them earn every possession.
mount burr vs kalangadoo
The Magpies head to Mount Burr to play off against the Mozzies in round twelve. Mount Burr’s Lauren Wheeler and Ebony Clark move well and shoot with accuracy, fed from outside with ease by Caitlyn Payne and Laura Schultz.
Kalangadoo defenders Lauren Kain and Lara Munro will put pressure over every ball, forcing errors and crea ng turnovers for their team. Down the other end of the court Abbey Duncan and Ebony McDiarmid are able to shoot accurately, moving well in the goal circle together, however they will be under the pressure of Olivia Dean and Megan Thiele. Jane Auld and Jayde Peacock will apply pressure around the Mozzies’ goal circle for the Magpies and feeding the ball back down the court with ease. This game will likely go the way of the Magpies; however Mount Burr will fight hard for every ball.
nangwarry vs tantanoola
The Saints and the Tigers go head to head this weekend at Nangwarry. Tantanoola goalies Emma Gould and Keryl Ousey will use their height in the circle and shoot with accuracy. They are fed well from outside the circle by Kate Varcoe and Casey Walker who put the ball into their goalies with ease.
Nangwarry’s Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock work over me in the defensive circle for the Saints, ge ng hands to balls and crea ng turnovers. Saints Cassie Dinnison and Hayley Burner will feed into their goalies, Hayley Vanderhorst and Tahlia Wilson, who combine well in the circle and will need to u lise every turnover from down the court to keep the score line close. Tantanoola’s Tayla Rowe and Kate Bromley will force errors and chase up any turnovers, sending the ball back into their a acking end. Tantanoola will come away with the win, but the Saints will make them earn it.
