football club notes seniors

A Grade: With the wet and windy condions we knew it was going to be a tough day out at Kongorong. It took us a bit to warm up but we soon got the ball moving and adapted our skills to the weather condions. Aer half me the boys were raring to go, scoring 10 goals in the third quarter. Some of the best players on the day were Lewy Walker, Will Chay, Brad Mitchell, Jack Gray and Tom Hutchesson. The boys are playing well together as a team which assisted the 147 point win. Another good job by everyone.

senior colts

B Grade: We got our first taste of wet and cold football down at Kongorong. We were prey lucky in the B Grade with only the last quarter being wet, with a very depleted side with 7 out from the week before, we had three colts step up and didn't they do a fantasc job coming away with a good win. It took us 10 minutes to get into the game and sele a bit but once we did we played some terrific football. Dyl Vanderhorst made a great return to footy. Bre Watson was just as dangerous in the middle. Finn played his best game since he has came over from Penola. Ethan Leopold has kept his good run of form in the

Tommy Bell gave us plenty of drive up around

Senior Colts: Last week we headed down to Kongorong in what looked like it was going to be a wet weather footy game. Although throughout most of the game the weather

held out for us and the skills were able to be quite good from both sides. The boys had a cracking game both offensively and defensively, winning the game by 46 points. Best players were hard to pick as everyone played their role and helped with the win. 5th best the Pete Walter's award went to Eli Sims having a cracking pressure game. 4th best the Ladies Commiee award went to Fletcher Leopold in the ruck hardly losing a tap. 3rd the Gino’s Pizza award went to Archie Morgan starng to play some really good footy wherever he is put on the field. 2nd best the Stumpy Award went to Aussie Nele with another stellar performance through the middle, one of Hatherleigh’s best kicks by far using his disposal very efficiently. 1st best the Denton’s Sportspower award went to Oskar Howell, taking marks all over the ground and using his skills to help the boys win, also congratulaons to Oskar for debung in the A Grade! On to Kalangadoo today!

football club notes

in Chrissy Mules 350th game.

Not one to be in the limelight as Chrissy is always about team & club first and foremost, it's a huge achievement to reach 350 senior games plus the numerous games of representave football and premierships to go with.

Thanks goes to our junior game day sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrento's, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: With Mt Burr numbers light on it was a chance for all our underage players to get out and have a run around. With the handy rain over night the oval was a bit slippery but sll made for some entertaining football. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King, Compton Street Bakers delight & Killara Food Court with the awards being shared around as everyone chipped and played their part. Junior Colts: Aer a good win the week prior to Pt Mac, Macca was looking forward to the Junior Colts connuing their good form of late up against an undermanned young Mozzies side. The 1st half proved a challenge for the Maggies as they looked to sele into the game instead of trying to play individual footy. With some firm words at the half me break, the Maggies managed to open the game up with the defence holding the Mozzies scoreless to end up with a 70-point margin. Well done to everyone that went across to play for Mt Burr & making sure we got a game in. Best players went to Lachy McCann –Spot On, Frank Mules – Bunnings, Koby Parker – OK Pie Shop, Jack Barry –Bakers Delight, Isaac Lindner – Coaches Award & Axel Reeves – Killara Food Court Encouragement award.

Senior Colts: Full credit to the top of the table Burr boys in making a real game of it last me out. With the bare minimum of numbers was always going to be a challenge but to both sides credit the game was played in good spirits and everyone looked to enjoy having a kick and catch. Full credit to the Junior Colts who are connuing to play up each week and we can see the improvement that this is having on their football. Best

players went to Nato – The Roadhouse, Axe – Country Atude, Charlie Widdison – KD's Deli, Jack Barry – OK Pie Shop, Lachy McCann – Aussie Disposals.

Reserves: Having club legend Chrissy’s 350th game it gave Auldy’s boys some addional movaon to play for. From the outset the Maggies jumped the Burr boys in the 1st qtr with some quality play and connued to build on this over the 4 quarters to end up with a comfortable 48-point margin. There were some quality passages of play and Reevsey vying for Goal Of The Year with a couple of ripper goals. Best players went to Reevsey, Jimmy Brennan, Chrissy, Mitch Varcoe, Alex Carter & Starky

Seniors: Another hugely important game for the senior side as they look to connue on the good mid-season run of form and keep in touch with the top 4. With the line up looking more solid each week, this has meant that the side has had me to sele in posions and really go to work. As with every game against the Burr they are never an easy task with both sides knowing the importance of the game and in that increasing their pressure on the ball carrier and around the contest. Kicking with the wind in the 1st qtr meant the Maggies were able to make good use of it although it was evident to see it was going to be a tough day and while had plenty of the ball defences on both sides were on top early. As the rain started to come down in the second the game really ghtened and with 2 important goals into the breeze meant we had a narrow 3-point margin at the main break. The 3rd qtr was a tough affair with the rain well and truly seled in and the wind dropping away meant the game was there for the taking. The Burr managed to kick a few consecuve goals and with some strong forward pressure saw an important goal on the siren to Tye to even the scores at the final break. It was always going to be a dour affair in the last and the side to sele and handle the condions was going to prevail and with the 1st in the last meant the Maggies could build throughout the quarter kicking 3 goals to 1 in the last to come away with a ght 15-point victory. Best players went to Ethan Maney, Lachy Jones, Jusn Bromley, Robbie Hein, Jayk Norman & Jaggs Pra.

Heading to the wide open spaces of Hatherleigh next up will prove another challenge for the Maggies across the grades but one this writer is sure they will be up and about for and with a week off for the country champs am sure will throw everything at the top of the table

ROBE ROOSTERS

Junior Colts: A great first quarter Something we have been working on for a while, actually make that a great first half. The team is to be congratulated on their hard work at training and their atude. At last their hard work has paid off. During the game their determinaon at every contest, playing their role to the best of their ability, and being disciplined, by scking to the team rules; resulted in them being able to sing our club song with great enthusiasm. Now the challenge is to repeat this performance in every game for the rest of the season; regardless of who is playing. Dylan and Byron played extremely well. On return from injury, Conrad supplied the link that we had been missing. Noah made the most of his move forward. Eli, Spencer, Reid, Jimmy and Boodah, did what was asked of them. To be honest, it was a total team effort. Now for Kongorong. Do yourselves a favour. Do not let yourselves down, give your best effort. You are in control of what happens. Have fun by doing what is expected of you.

Senior Colts: Sorry I missed last week’s notes but it was an impressive win over Tant and we were looking to take that forward in to our match against Glencoe... with the guys enthusiasm high before the game we looked good early but couldn't hit the score board and showed our opponents to much space as they pushed forward to score 6 goals for the quarter. The next two quarters went the same way with us winning plenty of the ball but being unable to finish it of on the scoreboard. To our credit though we fought it out and had the beer of the last stanza to score 3 goals and play the game out. Best were Archie, Nathan, Welty, Myles and Levi with the incenves to Levi and Massimo. Also thanks to Steve's Place and Denton’s Sportspower for our weekly incenves. Cheers Leroy

B Grade: We have been blessed with the weather this season so far, sll for the reserves game it was dry with some light showers. This didn’t stop the lads from going to work and geng the job done. Tom Miller

rucked well all day, taking a lot out of the ruck himself and moving the ball forward. Ollie Benne ran up and down the wing providing that opon and linking up into the forward line. Sam and Dawson worked well down forward together providing plenty of opons. The big birdman with help of Jed Regnier had construcve talk across half back all day. The Hentschke brothers got a lot of football and were excing to watch in the last quarter both playing on the ball. New starter, Wil Langdon showed promising signs when he got around the footy. Into the second half of the year, we are playing some excellent footy that is very excing to watch. Really looking forward to seeing how the next 2 months pan out. Go Roosters!

A Grade: Aer the first 3 grades had some great winter weather to play their games, the A Grade was treated to the first dose of wet weather footy for the season. This changed the style of game we were used to playing, but we adapted quickly to condions and controlled the game from the first bounce. Our skipper Henry Lawrie relished the hard slog, running in straight lines and geng the ball long forward. George Duon and Coach Brown played the game as if the ball was dry, picking up kicks and creang space with their run and accurate disposal. Kane Dunn also relished the condions kicking a couple and playing his defensive forward role to a tee. Sam Bates and Joely B were also fantasc up forward. Our back 6 were also solid again. Tyler Thomson, Jesse Robbo, Jordan Pet and Jack Sneath were all excellent, working together and making life hard for the Glencoe forwards. Jacko made the most of his 20 minutes up forward bagging a couple as well. Thanks to Jeddy R and Flynn Peel for stepping up as well. Both these blokes looked right at home in the late game and sloed in beaufully See you all at Robe on Saturday! Get up to the new shed and our massive new fire drum and get right behind the Roosters at home!

hawks

The rain finally joined us as we hosted Hatherleigh at home. A wet day certainly made it a more challenging task to get some wins on the board. Write ups and awards as follows.

Under 11: The young Hawks played their first wet game of the season. They came up against a strong & skilled Hatherleigh team. They all played a strong defensive game, but sll managed to kick the odd goal to keep their spirits up. Awards: Archie Gillin (Intersport), Jack McKenzie (Presidents Award), Mac Brant (Coaches Award), Bill Ellis (Club Voucher), Huey Harding (Brant Family Award) and Judd Buntsma (Donut King). Auskick was played at half me in very wet and cold condions and they loved it. Plenty of goals were kicked and they all got plenty of the ball. Awards: Max von Stanke (Club Award) & Hudson Howard (Club Award).

Junior Colts: The Junior Colts had a tough day against top of the ladder side in Hatherleigh. But the kids tried their best all game, and that's all a coach can ask. I've been trying to teach the kids to use kicking only and maintain possession when moving from defence going forward. It's always good to see when you teach them something, and they do it on Saturday. We just fell short on the last kick going into our 50. But they can only get beer if we just keep working on the basics at training and pung it into pracce on Saturdays. Awards went to Angus Maidment (Lucas Family Award), Connor Gordon (Spot On Fishing), Koby Galloway (Aussie Disposals), Lola Geddes (Janeway Plumbing Award), Sam McInnes (Club Voucher) and Zavier Hunt (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: In a similar situaon to our previous game, we began round 11 below the standard we have set for ourselves and had it not been for some strong individual efforts in defence we would have been looking at a sizeable deficit at quarter me. Once again we responded aer the first break and had some moments where we moved the ball well by foot and demonstrated our ability to play a mature brand of football. Some excellent individual efforts saw us hit the scoreboard and we entered the main break within reach of our opponents. The third quarter saw us lose our shape around stoppages, geng soundly beaten at clearances, parcularly centre clearance. Two

early goals against and playing most of the quarter in our back half put the game out of reach at three quarter me. Our lads connued to play out the game in the last but the damage had been done and we once again need to go to work on stoppage cra and contest work. Awards went to Ryan Lucas (Mahew’s Petroleum), Mahew Aarts (MT Wheels), Kain Ashby (DA’Leni Meats), Cohen Galpin (Mick Mullan Award), Jackson Bald (Badenochs Deli) and Ryan O’Donnell (Coaches Award).

B Grade: Another week of mulple changes for us but some real special moments for us to have experienced together. We were really proud to have Blake and dad, Jusn Telford play their first game together. Also Michael ‘Rock’ Hillstone and his son Jai play their first game together. It was also Jai’s first senior game and he played an outstanding game. As did all six of our senior colts. Special menon also to Heath McShane who dusted off the boots and showed he can sll find the ball. Hatherleigh are a polished ouit and deserved the win, but our boys stuck to the task well and connued to show some great signs for the future. Shaun Beard, Michael Waters, Wayne Awill, Alex Forman, Jack Wilson and Paul Ellis took out the awards. As always thanks to BCF, Collins Court Butchers, The Commercial Hotel, Pick Avenue Deli and the club for sponsoring the awards.

A Grade: The boys started quite well in wet, slippery condions especially young Will von Stanke running and creang well out on the wing. The second quarter, Hatherleigh started to put a few on the board but our boys kept fighng hard. Aer half me our boys really let themselves down and let Hatherleigh kick 10 for the quarter To the boys credit they didn't lay down in the last and fought hard to hold Hatherleigh and not let the flood gates open, which they could have quite easily done. Another tough one this week but hopefully we can get a few back in the side of our 14 outs. Awards went to Brayden Leicester (Commercial Hotel), Ethan Norman (Collins Court Butcher), Will von Stanke (Club Tea), Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Club Tea), Corben O’Dea (BCF) and Brad Long (Pick Ave Deli).

mount burr mozzies

football club notes

Junior Colts: The boys played with a lot of heart last week. The scoreboard might've been 10+ goals but it didn't feel like that. We took it to them for 4 quarters and they truly had to earn every goal. Best players were Reed who gave effort aer effort, Mostyn who killed it down back and our newest recruit Jimmy who looked great in the ruck and in Mozzie colours. Noah another debutant played unreal and so did his younger brother. Good luck to Kalangadoo for the rest of the year

Senior Colts: A big shout out last week to the boys from Kalangadoo and our own senior colts boys who worked together extremely well to ensure we had a quality game of football take place. The warm up was held together, the game played in great spirits and always nice to see the lads from both sides doing what they do best and enjoying their football. Well done to all involved.

B Grade: Kalangadoo at Kalangadoo is always one of the toughest games each season and Saturday was no different. With 7 players out from last week’s team, for the second me only this year we needed to call upon a couple of Senior Colt boys. As it turned out our only goal in the first half came when Cambell Hateley marked, played on and found Max Hunt alone in the goal square. The half me score was 8 goals to 1 and it looked like we had taken a step back from the footy we had been playing over the past month. To the boys credit they responded well in the second half and managed to sck

close to the more experienced Kalangadoo side. In quarters 3 and 4, we kicked 5 goals to add a lile respectability to the score. Best players were Je Bowering, Braeden Thwaites, Max Hunt, Harry Corman, Cambell Hateley and first game player, Sam Clark.

A Grade: Although we didn’t come away with the four points I am happy with the way we fought it out unl the end. A highly pressured, hard fought contested bale by both sides made it excing for all to watch. We started reasonably well winning our fair share of the footy and geng plenty of entries but just couldn’t find a way to score. We were able to maintain our pressure making it hard for Kdoo to score and found a way to keep geng the ball moving our way. Wet slippery condions meant we had to simplify what we did when we had control of the ball. We gained momentum and used that to keep driving the ball forward which created scoring opportunies for us. A tough slog right to the end is pleasing to see, and should give us the confidence that we can be super compeve for long periods of me.

NANGWARRY SAINTS

Well we were finally blessed with some winter weather last Saturday at home against the Bay! The day ended with both clubs geng 2 wins for the day, and the supporters were able to witness some exceponal footy played in both junior and senior games.

A big thank you to the sponsors commiee for pung on a big show Saturday, it was well aended and the day ran smoothly. A very big thanks to all of this year's sponsors whether they were major, game day or aucon your support is always appreciated.

Thanks goes to this week's sponsor's Gildera Forestry Services and Grigg Plumbing. Both sponsors have strong community links to our club and understand that all clubs relies heavily on sponsorship. So if you are looking for a plumber please give Grigg Plumbing a call on 0417 857 993. Gildera is a family owned and operated business and holds a seedling nursery capacity of 4.5m plants and also specialises in forest and vegetaon maintenance services. They are locals who employ locals.

Under 11: It was a cold start at Nangwarry for the young Saints. Their reading of the play is starng to click. They looked for the open space, delivered the ball with accuracy and held their marks. All their efforts at training is starng to show

Junior Colts: Great win by our under 14s last week taking on a top 2 Port Mac. We hit the scoreboard early and managed to keep them scoreless in the first quarter. For the remainder of the game it was prey ght tussle only leading the 2nd and 3rd quarters by 2 goals. Really proud of our group the way they've stood up for 4 quarters we kept the pressure right up and never stopped aacking all game.

Senior Colts: Last week we came up against a very strong Port Mac team in cold but reasonably dry condions considering the rain the night before. Aer a solid start and geng plenty of opportunies but only kicking 2 goals things were looking ok but 2 goals to Port Mac evened things up at quarter me. Aer that goals were at an absolutely premium in another low scoring, hard fought game of football we ended up falling short, Nangwarry 3-10 to Port Mac 4-6 by 2 points. Goal kickers were Bay McKinnon 1, Benne Moy 1 and Harry Hicks 1. Award winners for the day were Harry Hicks with the Fasta Pasta, Archer Virtanen the Pines Hotel, Bay McKinnon and Ollie Capewell the OK Pie Shop, Cooper Harris and Jagger Geary Nangwarry canteen and Taj Bell Limestone Coast Pantry award. Other beer players were Benne Moy and Tayte Virtanen. Full credit to Port MacDonnell to have won 2 close games against us this season. Both games have been of an exceponal high standard of football played in the right spirits featuring a lot of players who will be the future of MSEFL A Grade in the coming years. It is just an absolute disgrace to see that we sll have to put up with some parents and adults who should know beer but sll see it is their right to abuse

volunteers aer a junior game of football! Hopefully one day we won't see this at local football! We will bounce back this week on the training track and look forward to tesng ourselves against the top of the ladder Mt Burr again.

B Grade: Was a great game by our lads, we went into the game undermanned and had a few late changes leading up to the game so for the boys to dig deep and get a 40 point win over Pt. Mac was awesome. The way we played and moved the footy was very good to see and excing to see knowing we sll have up to 6 to come back in. Unfortunately we got a few injuries through the game so hopefully all those lads recover well, playing Mount Burr this week so hopefully we can get another win on the board.

A Grade: We had our first taste of winter football for the year but fortunately as always our oval relished in the wet condions. A couple of late outs had us juggling the magnets, although not ideal, I commend the boys that accepted the challenge to play at the top level at late noce. We started the game well, in fact pung in our best first quarter for the season against quality opposion. We had a really good connect right through from defence to forward. Our transion was really good, our defence were structured well and we had the lead going into the first break. Second quarter Port MacDonnell got on top of us and were able to open up and find uncontested possessions across the ground and were able to hit the scoreboard regularly. We allowed too many goals from close range stoppages and know that's an area we need to improve. The third quarter was compeve and prey even going inside 50. We were able to hit the scoreboard again kicking three majors to the Demons 5. In the last quarter Port MacDonnell connued to run out the game kicking 6 goals to our 1. A mixture of fundamental errors and the Demons’ run late unfortunately blew out the scoreboard and probably not to a true reflecon on the game. Goal kickers for the day were Andy Hyland 3, and singles to Ty Dinnison, Calais Borman and Blake Neshoda. Best players: Club Tea Award - George McWaters, Pines Hotel Award - Joel Virtanen, Jens Hotel Award - Jack Pudney, Car Spa Award - Isaac Raymond, Fasta Pasta - Blake Neshoda, San Piero Award - Ty Dinnison.

A big congratulaons to Chappo on playing your 150th game. A milestone well deserved mate. We respect the work you do for our club both on and off the field and we are very fortunate to have you as a Saint.

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors, we hope you enjoyed your sponsor's day and well really appreciate your support and well aware our club can't funcon without you.

Junior Colts: Last round in the juniors we travelled to Robe. It was a bale all day with Robe kicking the first goal and our boys inaccurate kicking which led to us kicking 5 points, with hard effort our kids never backed down and never dropped their head. With the game on the line and a mark inside 50 the hero of the day Jack Rowe kicked a goal aer the siren to win the game. Best players Jack Rowe who played a new role on the wing and showed fight and run

all day, Jayden Hunter who connues to dominate week in and week out, Summer Batchelor, Kobe Bromley, Kaiden Shawyer who took a massive hit and got back up and kept going and Marcus Forrest.

Senior Colts: Last round we headed to Robe, aer a good training Thursday night we thought we could win this but a slow first half cost us, with a couple injuries early and Robe working a lot harder than us it wasn't a very good day with us losing by 60 points. Our goal kickers for the day where Ryan Long who kicked 2, Ash Foulds and Brayden Rowe both kicking one. Our best players were Brayden Rowe, Jake Bevan, Sam Simmons, Jedd Hardingham and Ryan Long.

Reserves: Last round in the B Grade we headed to Robe. We were undermanned and came up against a fit well drilled Robe team. To the boys credit they baled hard across the 4 quarters but just couldn't match it. We had good patches during each quarter but patches don't win games of footy Best players were Marky Bell, Liam, Aaron, Bommer and Batchy

A Grade: Another tough week against a very good side. Unfortunately we started really slow and allowed Robe to get on top early. The young inexperienced group were facing a tough bale but they never gave up and slowly got on top at mes just unfortunately couldn't make the most of it on the scoreboard. Keep pung the effort in boys, might feel like nothing is going our way but we aren't going to be down for much longer. Best players Troy Ha, Zane Walker, Ethan Bowman, Cade Kelly, Jack Dawe.

GLENCOE MURPHIES

football club notes seniors

We welcomed Robe to a tradion Saturday in June, perfect for footy just a touch wet. Thinking the rain would stay away we had perfect weather for three games of footy before the seniors and then came the heavy rain to make it a slog in the mud.

Thanks to Jack and his crew for ensuring Miss Glencoe was a success. Some beauful ladies showcasing their talents made for compelling viewing. Top marks to Ben (Bethany) for nearly perfect scores across all categories. Aer a controversial finish the Dash for Cash is due for a rerun later in the year

senior colts

junior colts

Under 11: Bo has his troops really improving and geng beer each week, great to see the development connuing from the start to where they are now. Keep it up.

Junior Colts: We took on Robe aer beang them at their home ground in a ght game we knew we had to switch on early. Unfortunately, we gave them a head start before we flicked the switch and got going. Annabelle led from the front and played her best game, Harrison and Lachy tried all game and Mason and Hamish both kicked two each.

Senior Colts: We came up against an improved Robe team, we started strongly, kicking six in the first quarter, owning the ball the whole term playing team footy and not giving Robe a sniff. We were able to throw a few players in different posions to give them a different opportunity. Best players were Sam kicking 5, Max, Jed and Tyrone, Digby and Connor who played his best game for the

year

B Grade: We could be a very good team if everyone was available but it seems players are in and out, mostly out each week. This saw us lean on the Senior Colts heavily, thank you. Best for the day were captain Jason, Tom, Isaac, Dylan (Desny) and very reliable Trent. We are in the top four come to training fellas and push into September.

Seniors: Coming up against Robe we wanted to bring effort and work for each other all day. The first quarter the rain started and we missed crucial opportunies before leng Robe in and slong six unanswered goals. Second quarter we once again failed to score a goal missing more shots on goal, we thought we were in the game although being down by 8 goals we were applying pressure right across the oval. Third term was three goals apiece with a nice goal from Harry firing the boys up along with our pressure around the contest liing. Last term Ma kicked a couple beauful goals finishing with three for the day showing his talent, we lost by 57 points at the end of the day with the effort there but just need to put it together for four quarters. A special menon to Henry who sold the slowest candy ever. Best was Harry playing his best game for the club, Ma who sloed three and had a big day, Will down back in a physical match up, Ben and Jack in the middle and Zacc rounded it out.

We traverse Mile Hill this week as we look to have for a few wins before a couple of weeks off to freshen up.

NETball club notes hatherleigh

Junior 2: A great team effort girls. We had some strong passes into the space, showed great balance with our footwork and ght 1 on 1 defence. We created more space for each other, which helped the ball to flow beer down the court. Our goalies combined well in the goal circle, mid courters used lots of forward movements and the defence had high hands over the ball, which created numerous turnovers allowing our goalies plenty of aempts. Awards: HLC - Lacey Kovac, Denton’s Sportspower - Torah Oakley

13 & Under: Another boomer of a game girls. The illnesses thrown our way didn't deter and change you girls from working so well together as a team. The illnesses saw a different team dynamic this game not wanng to prolong anything given our lack of players for upcoming games. Arabella worked relessly all day and did some incredible aacking defence to allow for easy front passes to her. Kaia swapped in to goals and fit in easily with great rebounding and was supported well by an unwell Livvi (who sll put in 100% despite being unwell). Unfortunately a blood nose saw a quick changeover required. Hazel stepped on at GS for Kaia and then transioned to GA, consistently finding the defender to make for easy passes in to the circle from the aack line. Chloe, also unwell, worked really hard at WD and was connually making the opposion aack line rethink and doubt their ideal plays. Paige used her two hands consistently down in GK causing disrupon almost every me the ball went down that end, coming on to WD to rest Chloe saw some amazing fast drives in her lane out of defence and supporng the ball in to the aack line. Leyla was back on board for her second game aer breaking her arm and it was great to see her confidence back and she ulised all the tools in her toolkit well. An unwell Mollie came on at half me and did her think well, using some voice on the court which was great to hear! I don't think anybody watching would have realised she was unwell. Much to her disappointment and aer playing well to constantly deny space to her opposing centre an also unwell Alirah was swapped out at half me which allowed Tilly to come on to have an opportunity to fit in with our team as we will be requiring her to fill the gap next week. Thank you Tilly for helping out to ensure we can get these unwell players back to 100% as soon as possible. Take care my lile Eagles and let's keep working hard, being punctual and supporng each other as much as we can. Dentons - Leyla Marshall, HLC - Alirah Bowman.

15 & Under: A very strong start against Kongorong, with our defensive pressure pung us ahead at quarter me. Kongorong came out firing in the second gaining momentum making it difficult to score, taking a 10 goal lead at half me. Aer some changes we seled in the second half with some great passages of play. We began to capitalise on turnovers, move the ball fluidly down the court and feed confidently into the goalies. A solid finish to get within 4 at the end. Awards to Luca and Olivia for their determinaon and fierce defensive game.

17 & Under: Another solid performance by the girls saw us come away with the win. It was good to see things we worked on at training come into our game and we were rewarded with plenty of turnovers. Our ball movement down the court was quick and precise with everyone hing their targets. Kalli and Chloe B are moving well in the circle and taking the percentage shots, the mid court are

finding space allowing for quick transion. Our defence led by Nize were fantasc rebounding strongly, allowing very few second shots. To Kongorong’s credit they didn’t give up and played the game out to the end. Unfortunately it was Shanae’s last game with us we will miss her cheery face and presence on court. Shanae has worked really hard and been a huge improver this season. While we wish her well in her move we have fingers crossed for a return later in the season. Thanks Sam for scoring and Kels for P/C. Awards - Since 56 Kalli, HLC Hannah.

B Reserve: Great game girls, weather held off for half the game then the rain set in. Solid team effort throughout the court with all players pung into pracce what we have worked on. Let’s connue to improve some of our set plays etc. Thanks to Linda and Zoe again for primary carer and scoring. Ellen Clarke - Beachport Hotel, Keely Jones - Sport and Rec.

B Grade: Missing our number 1 and number 2 note writers last weekend Di Nat, we hope you are enjoying me with your beauful families. We took on Kongorong with a different line up due to illness and injury. We welcomed the twins Chloe and Hannah to help us out and wow what a game they both played. Chloe was well supported by Elle in the goal circle making great posioning and shoong with high accuracy. Kaz and Ali both played a boomer with percussion passes and great court posioning and pressure creang scoring opportunies. Maddie and Georgia combined amazing picking anything that was close liming Kongorong’s scoring opportunies. Sarah dominated in WD gaining turnovers and an opon with her drives coming out of defence. Hannah for her first game in seniors (who would have known) found space had great vision down the court and passed with accuracy. Once again best players could have gone to all players that took the court. A big thank you to Grace for sing bench aer playing her game geng wet and sing bench in the cold condions was appreciated oh and along with taking the court out of posion with 3 minutes to go aer we lost Georgia with an injury. It was great to see the control all players had with the ball in wet slippery condions. A special special menon to our number one supporter and scorer Raels for braving the cold wet condions. Thank you from all of us. Let’s hope our sick and injured are recovered for a strong game this week. Take care all.

A Reserve: A disappoinng game for us on the weekend and I know its not a representaon on how the girls can play We are taking some me to adjust to new players and posions with player injuries and being away. We couldn’t seem to get through any of our structure down the court that we have been working so hard on. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day but this is not our game. A big kudos to Deni Brown who stepped out and game 100%! Awards: Deni Brown – Sassi Award, Abby Wight - HLC.

A Grade: A great team effort saw us adjust well to the weather condions, aer the first 5 mins. We valued the ball and moving down the court with paence and efficiency. Chelsea and Demi created plenty of turnovers before it hit the circle and were also able to rebounding strongly. Kalli and Niah both backed up well in and worked overme denying their WA any space. Erin and Lara had great vision the court passing well into Elly and Bree, who combined well in the circle and finished off with accuracy

Awards: HLC - Elly, Lara & Chelsea, SassiBree, Somerset - Erin.

Junior 2: Great effort mini magpies. It was great to see some great defence with lots of monsters. Willow, Grace, Piper and Charlie worked hard in the defensive circle and worked on their turning and blocking. Hannah, April, Heidi and Adele had some lovely strong leads and beauful named passes. Well done girls. Best players April (Penola Recyclers) and Heidi (Fasta Pasta).

Junior 1: Mini magpies enjoyed a nice sunny game to start their Saturday morning. We had a bit of a different team with some different girls playing. Each and everyone in the team played their posions well and fought hard. Our leads have been geng stronger each game and it’s great to see some skills from training come into game play. Our defence worked extremely well and adjusted when needed. Our shooters worked hard at geng in front and geng their own rebounds. Thank you to Grace and Heidi for playing in our team last week. Awards: Aurora (Lollipops) and Alyssa (OK Pie Shop).

13 & Under: Well it wasn’t the start that we wanted, we ended up being four goals down in the first quarter And need to regroup and try to come in front and pick the right person to pass to. It was a beer start to the next quarter and Harper’s ming was spot on and used her skills to her best advantage in WA received Fasta Pasta award. Emily at WD got her fingers to a lot of the ball in defence and kept her player in ght check receiving the OK Pie Shop. In centre Ashley ran all game and gave it her best receiving Mars Bar award. Unfortunately Mt Burr was too good and we couldn’t keep it together. We need to go back to basics and have some faith. You know what to do girls let’s go and have fun also.

15 & Under: Great team game against Mt Burr despite lots of pressure and strong contests. Zoe (Penola Recycling) got lots of touches and made great posion in defence. Molly had another great game and read the play so well to take clean intercepts. Lucy took some strong balls and shot accurately and was fed well by Ava and Lexie. Ella (Fasta Pasta) chased hard and got some touches at WD The team loved having Tilds hit the court for a quarter and she worked overme and made the most of her opportunity. Plenty to connue to work on at training in the coming weeks.

17 & Under: It was always going to be a tough game and we were up for the challenge. It was pleasing to see us keep our cool when things got ght. Ellie (OK Pie Shop) and Maya (Gambier City) got lots of touches and drove the ball down the court well supported by Ash. Shout out to Lily for playing aer just having her braces on. Her

fitness and determinaon was great to see and she fed the ball really well. Shayden and Georgia have found a great connecon in the circle and fed well by Molly and then Lucy. We all showed how much we have improved from the first round and sll plenty to learn.

B Reserve: We came out firing and managed to score the first six goals of the game. Gem and Deb picked off many passes in to the goal circle and worked well together to shut down any space. Maddi and Nic moved well together in goals with some strong holds from Nic allowing Maddi and the mid court to feed her with ease. Our mids created a lot of space bringing the ball to the circle and using great angles to feed. Emma had another strong game in WD using her height to her advantage with the ball pressure over a shorter opponent. Our posional changes in the mid court didn’t slow us down and we connued to build across all four quarters. We sll have a lot we can work on to strengthen our game over the coming weeks. Best: Maddi - Café Melzars, Deb - The Ary

B Grade: Another cracking start for the B Grade girls before the wet weather set in. Our pressure all over the court was excellent which allowed us to create turnovers. Emily and Emma combined well and with great talk from Emily (Kirralie Jade) we had many intercepts down our defensive end. Jamie (Ary) again with her never give up atude transioned well down the court and was a focal point for us. An exceponal team game, where we backed everyone along the way. A big thank you to Lily and Ellie for sing bench for us!

A Reserve: 63-49. Another solid performance with a changed lineup. Maya and Anthea were paent in aack feeding Mel and Hayden well. Ellie got plenty of touches and applied ght pressure and our circle defence of Re and Shanae combined well together giving us plenty of opportunies. A tough game coming up, let’s keep building. ShanaeKirralee Makeup, Shayden - Melzars.

A Grade: A great start to our game last week being able to gain a sufficient lead at the end of the first quarter to set ourselves up for the game. Our defensive pressure all over the court was a great asset. The Georgias worked overme and combined well in the circle to deny many opportunies. Janeo adjusted well into the defensive wing and her speed gave us great drives in transion. Jayde and Sophie worked paently in the aack and fed beaufully with Eb being a force to be reckoned with and finishing off accurately. A great team game! Thanks to Georgia and Sophie for stepping up last week. Globe - Eb McDiarmid, RSL - Georgia Genle.

NETball club notes

A Grade: Glencoe 69 def Robe 46. Robe A Grade knew they had a tough match up against Glencoe & that it was. Robe made a few simple errors in the first half of the match, giving Glencoe a solid lead at halime. This was always going to be hard to come back from. Robe did however connue to have great passages of play from aack line and intensive pressure from defence - not giving up. The last quarter, played out to be even from both teams providing a solid effort. Calcua went to Lucy (Victoria Jaxon) and coaches award went to Alannah (Holiday Trading Co).

A Reserve: Glencoe 49 def Robe 42. The A Res had a frustrang game against Glencoe. Glencoe got a margin of 5 in the first few minutes and we had some nice passages but couldn’t get consistent scoring off our turnovers and while our players felt flat the margin was only 4 at 1/4 me. Our defenders Jess (coaches award – The Eighth Leer) and Hannah (Calcua –Holiday Trading Co) worked hard to get access to the ball and Annabel was trying to keep the energy up to movate the team. Glencoe again stretched the score for the second and third quarters. With 10 goals in at 3/4 me our team found their mojo and had an absolute cracker last quarter We were winning the ball in defence transioning well and our goalies were scoring freely. We le our run a lile late but it was a great effort to finish off so well.

B Grade: Glencoe 40 def Robe 35. One word for last Saturday, wet. Games like that are a struggle to get movated. We made a few changes to try and boost spirits but unfortunately we just slipped out of reach. Defence worked relessly however just hard to grasp a hold on the wet ball. Aack kept adjusng to come forward but again wet condions make it hard to find momentum. A totally achievable game and just our own forced errors. Phoebe (Calcua – Holiday Trading Co.) got her hands to plenty and really focused on steadying herself down the court. Billie (incenve – The Eighth Leer) was full fight club mode with that want for the ball & great composure. Onward and up for future games.

B Reserve: Glencoe 48 def Robe 24. It just was not our day. An unseled first quarter and a couple changes at quarter me saw everyone firing in the second quarter. A threat of her mum was all it took to shake Liv out of her groove and her shoong in the second quarter was bang on. Unfortunately in the 4th quarter it all went a lile pear shaped and the win we were chasing was lost. Neve earnt Calcua (Holiday Trading Co) proving that she is pung in to pracce all she is being shown. Coaches to Amanda (The Eighth Leer) who has really given it her everything these last two weeks. Special menon to Cassie who played her best game of the season so far. It wasn't our day but here's to this week and achieving our goals.

17 & Under: Glencoe 38 def by Robe 48. We knew it was going to be tough, having finished with a draw last me we played Glencoe! The girls did not disappoint, they should be so proud of their efforts geng a nice win. Every

single player on court gave it their all as well as remained posive and encouraging, with the game reflecng the teams atude! Georgie (incenve – Loaves & Fishes) gave her all with nearly 100% accuracy, backing herself and finding her voice. Best on went to Olivia (Salubrious Hour) who once again proved why she is captain, geng touch aer touch as well as spot on direcon. Special menon to Kyah who controlled the game effortlessly with a full game in centre!

15 & Under: Glencoe 58 def Robe 32. Hoping for a beer outcome for the game but the girls simply ran out of puff. Going into quarter me saw the scores almost even showing the girls we could do it. The girls had some effortless plays in the aacking end, with all working well as a team. Glencoe were unfortunately just steady and consistent for all four quarters. We really struggled to get in front of our players which proved difficult for the ball to make its way down the court with a very defensive Glencoe. This is what we'll work on going forward to hopefully get a couple more wins on the board. Best player went to Millie Fennell (Salubrious Hour) for her seamless effort in GA and her posive atude and talk on the court. Coaches award was given to Tess Gibbons (Naracoorte Sportspower) for always going out and giving every second a red hot crack. Great work girls.

13 & Under: Glencoe 43 def Robe 15. Well done girls! Unfortunately we didn't come away with a win but as the scoreboard showed our performance and improvement is outstanding. We are backing each other up, supporng each other and coming together as a team. Our first half was a bit flat, but moving into the second half our passages of play, our passing, footwork and defensive play was on point and hard to fault. Best player went to Lacey (Robe Seafood & Takeaway), as per usual she zipped around the court flat out for 4 quarters geng lots of turnovers. My coaches award went to Zoe (Denton's Sportspower), she started in WA but we needed her fight and determinaon in defence. She worked hard and fast, helping to keep Glencoe from scoring.

Junior 1: Girls you just get beer and beer each week. We worked on front cuts and shoulder passes, and you all nailed it. Our transions down court are just geng more advanced and structure just looks so good. I love how you all work hard all game and prove your spot each week, no maer where you play! Last week Aria had her first game with us and made sure we got turnovers and played so well in defence. Our aack Scarlet, Aurla, Amelie as Kendall worked relessly all game, creang drives on to the ball, creang space and really beginning to be play makers. Harper, Aria and Mali played a strong defence with mulple turnovers and bringing the ball down court into aack. Edie started well, but sickness soon overcame her and she moved to the bench. Hopefully this week Edie. Incenve (Robe Netball Club) went to Aria for a very controlled defensive game, creang numerous turnovers. Cannot wait for this week.

NETball club notes kongorong

Junior 1: Fantasc effort girls so proud of the amount of encouragement you all had. We are so proud of how far your personal and team skills have evolved, our best players were Belle Brant (O’Connor & Graney) for her excellent defending. Our other best player went to Alyssa Millich (club voucher) for running her legs off and pung in 100%. Let’s have a good training Tuesday and hopefully have a good turned out against Robe.

13 & Under: Great effort girls! Last week we worked around some new posions and combos and were able to adapt quickly and work as a team. I am so proud of how much we have improved in comparison to last me we played the Eagles and the hard work we are pung in is paying off on court. As always, there are sll areas of improvement and ways we can look aer each other but I am feeling very opmisc about the next few rounds of netball! Best on went to Ivy Trigg (O’Connor & Graney) for a fantasc game in GK and Zoe Lile (Kaboom) for presenng well in aack. Let’s train hard this week and come out on Saturday looking for a win!

15 & Under: Well fought game girls. We worked well and got some turnovers but had to work hard to keep the lead. Our moving in the circle and feeding worked really well considering they had great defence. Some things to work on at training. Best players went to Lily Foster $10 donated by Janeway family, Paige Telford $10 donated by O'Connor & Graney and Abby Brant – The Spot.

17 & Under: Well done girls, weather held out for us thankfully! Thanks to Lily Foster for sing bench for us. Starng with our shooters moving really well in the circle but needed that extra line of defence we had some changes halfway through that gave us movement and intercepts. Lets get some good trainings under our belt and good luck this week with Mel and Courtney in Robe. Best players goes to Ruby Carrigan (Spot) for her movement on both ends of the court and your happiness on court! And to Eadie Mustart (Mangoes) for your game energy!

B Reserve: Thanks to Hatherleigh for a wonderful clean game. Always a pleasure playing you. Our first and last quarters were our strongest. We had been working very hard on driving to the ball which worked a lot beer. We need to focus more on passing into the circle, otherwise I was really happy with it. Best players – Grace Jacob (WD) for reading play so well and 4 intercepts. Chernita Goldsworthy (GS) for constantly moving into the space.

B Grade: Was a tough game. First wet game of the season, meant for a lot of drop balls and missed passes. Hatherleigh were all over us and picking up every sloppy pass which gave them a lot of opportunies to score. Well done to Abby Brant who held herself very well against some very good defenders, gaining majority of our scoreboard, which earned her (award) and Milla Buckingham played a great game in WA providing lots of direcon and voice to keep our spirits high (Elite Supps).

A Reserve: A good win and a great game. Ball aggressive was present throughout the court. Aack worked and worked to keep the ball in the circle. Best players went to Courtney Sealey for her aacking and defensive pressure, receiving The Park Hotel voucher. Our second best player goes to Caitlyn Shanks for her effort and drive in WD & WA, and our third best player for recognion goes to Jordy Heraper for her moving in the circle.

A Grade: Bad luck girls. Not the game we wanted to come out and play and not the way we wanted to finish. I can't fault everyone's defensive efforts throughout the day but we need to make sure we are watching our basic skills and looking aer each other in order to play compeve netball. We took this game as an opportunity to try some new combos and give everyone a fresh set of eyes in some new posions and we need to take that posive outlook into our starng 7 next Saturday and work hard at doing the small things right. Let’s take this week as a new week and come in with a posive atudes and fresh legs.

Junior 2: No game.

Junior 2: Another fantasc team game from you all. In cold, wet condions, you girls gave it your all and changed your game to suit the weather. We had great defensive pressure, taking lots of intercepts and using outside arms when defending your opponents. Once again, you showed great team work with your passes, geng everyone involved. I especially loved your cheering and encouragement for your teammates. The McDonald's award went to Lacey who had a brilliant game in defence, keeping her eyes on the ball and didn't stop working, the whole game! The Toy Kingdom award went to Alaska for changing her leads when on the aacking end, geng in front and bringing the ball in when taking intercepts.

Junior 1: A well played game by everyone. We started off strong, applying defensive pressure all throughout the court and improving our throw-ins game aer game. As the game went on, we started to pick up a bit of stepping but the girls managed to adjust their footwork and connue their amazing game! Awards went to BellaMaccas, Scarle - Boost, Eva - Acky's, Sydnee - Subway

13 & Under: Well done girls, a great game under pressure. We worked hard all game and were determined to win all over the court. Wren ran the C most of the game and created turnovers with ball pressure. Great defence from Isabelle and Emily working well together and rebounding strongly and controlling the ball out of defence. Sophie and Poppy had great awareness of each other in the circle and combining well and finishing strongly. Hope and Alice moved to the ball with lovely front cuts, which opened the court up and then fed our goalies with precision passing. Hannah and Jessica worked hard around the circle and at the line and got hands over the ball to create many turnovers, and moved down the court with strong leads. We all need to keep working hard at training, and I see our team and court plays on Saturdays working well. Thanks to Jay for scoring and Madi for umpiring. The 13s do appreciate seeing our A grade coach come and support our juniors by umpiring the girls and do a great job. Awards went to EmilyMcDonalds, Sophie - Fasta Pasta and Hope - Ginos.

15 & Under: Bad luck girls, fantasc pressure all down the court and great fight to chase all those loose balls. Always a very tough match but we made lots of lile wins throughout the game. Best players went to Isabel O’Brien (Cafe Melzar), Courtney Sigston (Acky’s Deli) and Gemma Salo (Zambreros).

17 & Under: A great game of netball. Thank goodness the rain stayed away The slow start and a few missed opportunies ended up being the difference. Was great to see you pung into pracce some of the things we are

doing at training. Centering the ball to reset and improved ming of leads. Was great to see all 8 players contribung to the game by focusing on winning your own posion. Sll a few things to work on - seling passes aer a turnover to capitalise on the hard work, ensuring we communicate consistently to help team mates (especially in defence), and a direct line of play to limit unnecessary leads. Very proud of the way you all worked together and lied as the game progressed. Well done Macy on winning the Zambrero award and Lola for winning the Acky's award. Thanks Sam for scoring and Danika for umpiring.

B Reserve: Kalangadoo 51, Mount Burr 29. We had a tough game but showed plenty of resilience to keep pushing each quarter with our defence having to work extra hard for a touch. We did well to keep possession and out score them in the last quarter. Best players were Tracey Was & Mia Grant. Thanks to Grand Hotel, Cafe Melza & Dentons Sports Power

B Grade: Last game was a tough one and our girls knew this going in. The weather wasn't on our friend but we persevered and pushed through the rain. Unfortunately Kalangadoo were too good and capitalised on our mistakes. We need to make sure we are offering front posion and leading to the ball. Defence working hard against a strong Kalangadoo aack. Let’s re-group and come out firing for the win this week. Thanks to Leah for umpiring and Raelene for scoring. Awards: Ginos –Nicole, Heaver on a Hanger – Zoe, Somerset – Stacey

A Reserve: Following a challenging bale for the win last game, we knew how important it was to maintain consistency right from the start against Kalangadoo. They came out strong, as expected, creang turnovers and taking the lead going into the first break. The second quarter saw Sara come on into C, fighng for every ball and creang the drive and space we lacked in the first quarter. This closed the lead a lile. We connued into the third the same as the previous quarter, but their strong defensive pressure created errors for us and their consistent shoong saw them take an even greater lead. A few different changes in the last allowed us some fresh legs, helping us to fight back and close the lead a lile. A taccal change halfway through saw young gun Macy Burns take the court. Her drive, voice and accurate passing into the goalies helped us to score at every opportunity. The final score had us down by 14. A tough fight from our girls all game. Although we didn't come away with the win, we played a strong team game and fought hard all day. Best players were Sara Smith - Cafe Melzar and Leila Wallis - Subway

A Grade: In cold & wet condions, the reigning premiers quickly took advantage of our extremely slow start, leaving us playing catch-up. Gradually, we found our rhythm, our movements becoming more coordinated. Despite our best efforts and a strong comeback, the clock wasn't on our side, and we ran out of me just as we started to close the gap. Thank you Lisa for umpiring and Alan for scoring. Awards went to Chloe (Grand Hotel), Macy (Fasta Pasta) and Madi (Millicent Florist).

NETball club notes nangwarry

Junior 2: Last week, the girl did really well, all having to play a full game due to a couple of injuries. The air was cold and it took a lile bit for them to get back into the swing aer having last game off. There was so great passages of play but they sll need to work on finding the space on the court and geng in front.

13 & Under: Aer a week off it took us a while to get back into it. Our ming and leading was out of whack and we connued to lead back and lob most of the game. Eventually though we started to sele and make moves to the ball which was so much easier for you all. Even though we did make a lot of small errors, we sll had lots of glimpses of great play, so well done. We look amazing when we lead forward and drive hard, but we need to remember to slow down a lile before we pass the ball so we don't throw too many away, but that's something we will need to work on at training. Was good to see though you all never gave up and sll got the win. Tia's Cafe award went to Asha for some impressive defence work and driving and Bakers Delight to Aubrey for some great running especially in centre.

15 & Under: Back at the start of the line-up and our first wesh day, we hit the court against the bay at home. There was some great passages of play but Port Mac played brilliantly and flawlessly and as hard as Nangwarry tried it didn't convert this me. I am proud of my team for fighng ll the end!

B Reserve: An improved Nangwarry team took to the court against the bay, with a drive and ambion to show what we were made of. The rain didn't stop either side and the girls were in great spirits. Nangwarry started out well, with some great passages of play, but were no match for the bay girls, although excing to see a healthier looking score line this me from the last me we met. Lots of fun was had on the court. Good luck to the bay girls for the rest of their season.

B Grade: What a great first half of netball. We started

amazingly scoring the first few goals and only being down by three at end of first quarter. Zoe shot six goals for the quarter and was our main focus in goals. We connued being compeve in the second quarter with everyone doing their bit to work hard as a team. In the third quarter we let Pt Mac get away from us having a 14 to 4 quarter. We made lots of changes for the last quarter to try and close the gap but unfortunately our changes did not prevail and we only scored one goal for the quarter. Amy and Stevie rebounded well in defence and connuously applied pressure making the goalies work hard. Ebony drove well, received many intercepons and rarely made a mistake. Ellie and Carla aer both being unwell gave 100%, passed well, creang space in the ring. Zoe was given Limestone Coast Pantry award for her best game this season. Zoe rebounded strongly and held well. Montana also had a great game aer five weeks off Montana got her hands to many balls and when went in aack passed brilliantly into the circle. Well done girls, a great game hopefully we can connue this form.

A Reserve: Not a great start girls, we were a lile slow out of the blocks. A few minor changes at the first break saw us pick up momentum and find our groove. However we lost that momentum in the second half, we never gave up fight. A special shout out to Alisha who moved posions and took everything she learned at training and implemented it on game day. This makes a coach very happy.

A Grade: Bad luck guys. We really wanted to show the bay how much we had improved since the last me we played them and unfortunately we didn't really get that chance. Please do not let that be in your mind as a reflecon of you guys as a team as Michelle and I are very proud of all you have overcome so far this year. Let's regroup and make the rest of the season one of improvement and fun. Best players Jemma Glynn and Lacey Neale.

NETball club notes TANTANOOLA

Junior 2: These girls connue to impress me every week! I'm so proud of how well you all worked together Every single one of you played an awesome game and tried your very best. You all listened to what I had to say at each break and put that into play on the court. Every single one of you got in front of your player before calling for the ball. Best players were Lacey for giving 100 percent the whole game and her awesome defensive pressure all down the court! Bella was our other best player, she took on board what I wanted her to work on and executed it so well on the court! Overall I'm so proud of the girls and have had the best couple weeks with them. Bring on the rest of the season and having Danni back with us!

Junior 1: We were a lile asleep in the game & this showed with a very slow first half. Some great passages of play, but also many passes thrown away, footwork calls & not playing in front. I know I sound like a broken record, but I cannot emphasise how important it is to give 110% effort as this dictates the game. Our second half was played at a much beer tempo & resulted in a lot of scoring opportunies, which were mostly converted. Our main award (Fasta Pasta) went to Lacey who connues to grow very well as a player & got many hands to ball to create those turnovers. Also to our 2 reliable workhorses Lidi & Shelbi (Property Co. Awards), who every week come out & give it their all no maer what posion I put them in & no maer how the game is going, last round was a prime example of that. Well done girls.

13 & Under: Tant 28 - Robe 24. Congratulaons girls on a great win. You all played like superstars. Stella, you moved quickly and found space in aack and then played a ght defensive game. Kailee, you lead well, shot well and your strong rebounding kept us in the game. Zahli, I loved the way you moved in the goal circle and the way you called for the ball. Jaycie, what an absolutely amazing half in GD Your intercepng and rebounding put the team in the best posion leading into half me. Liv, you played such a strong half in C, bring the ball out of defence, creang turnovers and taking intercepts. Pip, you played a really consistent game, quick to get hands over the ball. Chiara, I loved that you never let your player out of your sight. You made it so hard for them to get the ball. Nyree, you played a really consistent game, and you are moving so well in goal circle. And Emie, amazing. You took so many intercepts and didn't let your player have any space. Awards went to Stella (Shanks Engineering) and Kailee (Denton's Sports Power). Thank you Jules for giving me the opportunity this great bunch of girls. Kate

15 & Under: I had high hopes of turning the tables on Robe for our second encounter but they were dampened when we were reduced to just 7 players. However, all the girls stepped up their efforts and played a great game showing determinaon and how much they have improved as individuals and working as a team to come away with the win - well done! Awards: Alice (Gino's voucher), Malda

(Lima & Co), Astyn (Devine Gis). Thank you 13's: Jaycee, Emie and Olivia for sing bench.

17 & Under: With a couple missing, the girls adapted well to having Alice and Malda fill in for us again. Hailey came out firing in the first quarter, shoong at 100% and connued to play well all game. Alice once again showed her strength and ability in 17/U, being a strong focus in our goal circle (Ginos Pizza). Kailah's feeding into the ring was accurate and had great posioning around the ring. Another great game from Demi through the centre, ulising her speed to drive down the court (Millicent Sportspower). Out of her normal posion, Bethan gave her all, creang numerous turnovers. Isla adapted well to a new combinaon with Malda, both girls working to get front posions and rebounds. Good work girls, let's get some trainings in ready to have a full team back again!

B Reserve: Numerous changes in personnel and posions (some played for the first me) was challenging for our team throughout the game, however we managed to maintain a slender lead over a much improved Robe team. Confident it will get easier (and beer!) as we understand the different team plays and strategies for each line up. Awards: Lauren (New Heaven Restaurant), Riley (TNC meal voucher), Layla (Kelsey Wight fitness).

B Grade: Saturday’s game against Robe was a great match for us. We had a few of our players out and some returning so it was great to get a win aer losing the week before against Hatherleigh. Our shooters were working great hard and working well together. Our mid court was quick and cunning and our defence held strong. It was great to see one of our juniors Demi Bevan back on court and playing well along with one of our B Res girls Leah Kuiper who filled in and played an amazing game also.

A Reserve: The Tigers played the Roosters on the long trip. The game was very even for the first part with both teams going goal for goal. The Tigers managed to pull away a lile bit in the first and second quarters of the game. Third quarter saw the Tigers not trusng themselves to deliver in what was working for the first half of the game. Missing a circle defender for the day made changes a bit harder. Coming into the last quarter the Tigers found themselves with a 2 goal lead. Goalies for the Tigers missing some crucial shots allowed the Roosters to get the jump. A game the Tigers should have won, but their own errors allowed Robe to take it away. Sll a very pleasing effort to where the Tigers were at this me last round. Best: Sophie Bellman - Tant Meal Voucher, Eva Bonde - Heaven on a Hanger

A Grade: Once again it took us a while to get some flow. We all had some posives during the game, however we do need to connue to work on our paence and control and push on when we have the opportunies. Great to see Shelby geng through four quarters with lovely feeding and posioning (Limo & Co). Kate V (New Heaven) connued to show her control in the mid court.

NETball club notes

Junior 1: The blue skies came out for a game which was great! Shooters worked well together and rebounded perfectly, mid court drove hard for the ball and adjusted their passes into the circle when asked which was great to see, defence again worked hard and the rebounds and second efforts were amazing. Thank you to Bella and Ruby for stepping up again and playing for us, you both played brilliantly and adjusted well. Great game everyone, lile bits and pieces to work on, but you are all doing amazing!

13 & Under: Glencoe 43 defeated Robe 15. A good solid win although not playing our best netball. Our first half set us up for the game with us creang lots of opportunies for our goalies to score at the other end. Lily created lots of drive in the mid court. Our passing let us down especially in the second half with us wasng a lot of our opportunies and hard work with passing errors which is something we will connue to work on. Annabelle had a great game earning her best player (Dycer Construcon), Lily was second best (Paradise Pizza) and Emma earnt the encouragement award (Kaboom).

15 & Under: Glencoe 58 defeated Robe 32. Excellent game girls, everyone played their posion and you all gave 100% for the whole 4 quarters! We had some absolute perfect passages of play which was great to watch. We just need to remember when we get a turnover to slow it down and wait that extra second. The movement, feeding in, and shoong was great in aack. In defence, the pressure applied from centre pass to the goal ring was amazing! Best players were Layla Hawke and Violet Thorne and encouragement to Kloe Phillips. Big thank you to Lilly for benching.

17 & Under: Glencoe 38 lost to Robe 48. We had some great passages of play. Defence worked hard in the circle geng plenty of touches, goalies tried hard all day on tough Robe defence and mid court put plenty of pressure on. Sll plenty to learn and improve on. Let's all get to training and work hard. First best to Mckayla Maney, second best to Amelie Cary and encouragement to Shae Tweddle.

B Reserve: Glencoe 48 defeated Robe 24. It was great to get another win on the board, well done girls! There were many posives including working it around the goal circle to achieve the best posion and great rebounding and intercepts from defence. The movement from defence down to the goalies felt difficult at mes due to the lack of space and crowding. There weren't many hard leads in front, instead we called from behind. This is something we will connue to work on. At the end of the day, we

achieved a good win! Best players were Jorja Owen for her turns in GA and GD, being able to switch from one end to the other seamlessly Second best went to Jorja Burdon for her shoong accuracy in the second half and her work in WD, picking up many intercepts and loose balls.

B Grade: Glencoe 40 defeated Robe 35. A much needed win girls. It was great to finally have a full team and to see everyone starng to gel on the court again! Another tough game in very harsh condions, with the rain slowing down play and making the ball very slippery. We did well to keep our heads up and work hard for an enre four quarters. We had a few slow patches but overall our play is really starng to come together. A great game by Giaan in defence who provided excellent drive down the court and direcon in the circle to earn first best. Second best went to Bri for her movement in the circle, ming of her holds and accuracy in the ring. Our defensive pressure all down the court was fantasc and resulted in a few held balls and it was great to hear more talk and direcon from everyone. Let's keep working hard and try to get a few more wins on the board!

A Reserve: Glencoe 49 defeated Robe 42. Another game we needed to win and came away with the points! Definitely not our best game. Their defensive pressure down the court tested a different line up in our defence. But yet again, we never gave up and kept offering opons down the court, trying new things throughout the game. Huge hats off to Sami B, Sami C and Alannah geng thrown into different posions and all doing so well at adapng, as well as the mid court doing the same! Third posion on the ladder girls, you should be so proud! Well done!

A Grade: Glencoe 69 defeated Robe 46. Another great game girls and our first in the rain! It definitely had an effect on our game style but it was pleasing to see us adjust straight away and be composed playing a shorter style. Our effort in this game was a big turn around from our last game against Robe. Our movement in aack is looking great and everyone was strong on to the ball. In defence we connue to apply lots of pressure and were first to lots of the loose balls. First best went to Donna for controlling the tempo in our aack line, paence feeding in and effort in defence. Second best to Chantelle for her presence and strength under the post and great shoong accuracy Let's keep riding on this good form and connue to self reflect on what we can sll improve on. Thanks Zoe for hing the court for us and Sam for benching.

round 11 A GRADE NETBALL MATCH REviews

Nangwarry

2 lost to Port MacDonnell 73

Starng the second round of the 2024 season, Nangwarry and Port MacDonnell were both keen to start this game strong and make an impression on their opposion. The Saints were to start the game with the centre pass, but aer a few passes down the court, Port Mac were able to take an intercept and get the ball down to their shooters, scoring first. Even with some amazing pressure from the Nangwarry defenders in the circle, they were unable to slow down the flow and hard work of the Demon's.

Megan Hein's accuracy was impressive, shoong 13 of the 18 in the first quarter. Nangwarry were kept scoreless.

Nangwarry were the only team to make a change at the first break, bringing Maddi Stephens into centre and giving young gun Alice Circelli a break. The Demons came out from the break firing again. Their constant pressure over the ball and great reading of the game play made it almost impossible for the young Nangwarry team to get the ball into their goalies. Youngster Jemma Glynn worked overme in at GD for the Saints, working well with her teammate Kayla Gray at GK, making Megan Hein and Kori Collins work overme. Nangwarry were kept scoreless again in this quarter. Port Mac were able to add 15 to their score.

The main break saw both teams make a few changes. Nangwarry were able find the ring and score their first for the game, but it was just the 1 goal in the term. The Saints came out with a lile more posivity in this quarter, talking more and looking like they were enjoying themselves. But Port Mac did not up give up their intensity and strength all the way down the court. Every single player showing amazing skills and experience. The Demon's were able to add an impressive 26 to their score.

Nangwarry were again the only team to make and changes at the final break. The Saints were able to get themselves another goal in this quarter, coming from Lacey Neale who had been moved from defence into GS. Kori Collins in at GS was able to add another 9 from the 13 for the Bay. All Port Mac players played an impressive, skilful game, but the score for the young Saints team did not project the improvement that has been made throughout the season. Final score Nangwarry 2 to Port MacDonnell 73. Best players for Nangwarry - Jemma Glynn and Lacey Neale, Port MacDonnell - Megan Hein and Alana Berkefeld.

Kongorong 23 lost to Hatherleigh 60

Round 11 was played on Hawks home court in very wet condions. The first quarter saw an even tussle with Hatherleigh more accurate in

the goal circle and converng their turnovers. The Eagles moved the ball through the centre court with consistent feeding into the circle. This saw them in front at quarter me 12 to 6.

The second quarter saw defensive pressure from both ends with Emily Lightbody and Rach Perry working hard in the Kongorong defence but the accurate shoong from Ellysia Redden saw the Eagles increase their lead by 13 goals giving the Hawks some work to do aer half me. Half me score 13 to 26.

Third quarter was all Hatherleigh with some amazing shoong from both Bree Harris and Ellysia Redden. The Eagles feeding into the circle from Erin Watson had the Hawks working hard to stop the flow. Some taccal changes from Kongorong pung Tilah Buckingham in defence set up for an interesng fourth quarter

The final quarter saw the Hawks slow the flow with some posion changes but with the Eagles accurate shoong and movement down the court Hatherleigh took away a 37 goal win. Best - Kongorong: Rach Perry, Emily Lightbody; Hatherleigh: Bree Harris, Erin Watson.
