Murphies
was the club Senior Colts Best & Fairest. Declan represented the Mid SE League at interleague in the under 15’s in 2017 and again in the under 17’s in 2019. He made his A Grade debut in 2019 and has been a regular, playing either in defence or on the wing. He is always willing to help out when asked and has volunteered as a runner or water boy in the junior grades and has also officiated as a boundary umpire during finals. From everyone at the club, we congratulate Declan on reaching his 50th A Grade game for the Murphies and wish him all the best in today’s match and into the future.

Geoff Hay had a few years off footy, but has pulled the boots back on more recently, have a kick in the Ressies, and no doubt copped some banter from his former team mates while playing on Saturday. The group gathered in the stubby shed to reminisce, and then 'kicked on' in the club a er the main game. Darren Hawkins spoke at the presenta ons about the special memories made during that successful era, and that you may not all keep in touch daily, weekly, monthly, etc but when offered the opportunity to gather all together and celebrate the achievements of the past, its makes for a great day and definitely worth the effort.

A Grade: Last week saw us field probably our strongest side to date this year, with nearly everyone available to selec on. Sunshine and a solid deck greeted us at Kongorong, which turned into a great a ernoon for footy. From the outset, we were dominate, our midfield was winning their ba les providing plenty of opportuni es for our forwards who were looking dangerous, and our back six were solid and s ngy not le ng up any goals for the quarter. From this posi on it was pleasing that we kept on going, extending our lead each quarter to win by 106 points. It’s a real team effort with everyone have great games.
Our best players were Brad Wight, who’s slo ng in nicely to a defending role, Mikey Telford and Will Chay for their efforts in the middle, Louis Brown played and outstanding game on the wing and up forward, and Paddy Chay who kicked 5 goals and is looking extremely dangerous up forward taking some strong marks. Special men on to Oz Ne le on playing his first A Grade game for the club. Looking forward to this week’s game against top of the table Roosters.
B Grade: We made the trip down to Kongorong with 6 or 7 players out of our regular side, knowing we would be up against a quality opponent. The weather gods were on our side the oval in good nic, we started the game well kicking 5 in the first and playing good team football. Brad Mitchell played well to take out BOG, followed by son of a gun Rayson. Mini Bowie was in around the packs all day doing his thing along
with Jack Marino off the half back flank. Big Sido rounded out the best, compe ng in the Ruck and around the ground all day
Senior Colts: With the school holidays in full swing seen a large number of lads away With the team we had the boys tried hard but it was unfortunately not enough to get the points. Blake Snook played his best game of the year at full back, while Zak Bowering had a solid day rucking and laying a lot of tackles. Aus n Ne le, Ethan Marshall and Huddy Nowak were them usual selves finding the ball and hi ng targets. As we get more players back, we look to turn it around against Robe.
Junior Colts: Not quite the result we were a er last week against Kongorong, with school holidays on and people away it le us very short in only having 14 players. Being short It opened up the field which I thought we moved the ball well considering. We had 3 good quarters it was just the slow start in the first that made it hard for us playing catch up.
1st best Billy Bowering
3rd best Henry Bowering
4th best Will Dower
5th best Tom Bowering
U11: This week we travelled to Kongorong. The deck was dewy but firm and the boys played really well. It was close all day and they kept going hard at the footy. Best players today were Thomas, Joel Skeer, Joel Chambers, Kobe, and Archie.
Junior Colts: It was a hard day at the office. With 10 players not available; it was always going to be a challenge regardless of who we were playing, let alone the top team, who are very disciplined and well structured. We had to call on more younger players than usual: it was really encouraging that so many were enthusias c to get some experience at a more senior level. They did themselves proud, not taking a backward step.
Also, we really appreciated the understanding and help from Ma and his team by providing a couple of players each quarter. The Pt. Mac. boys who played for us were excep onal in their efforts and a tude. We wish them all the best for the rest of the year.
Back to our guys, honestly their endeavour was fantas c, no one could ques on their commitment and willingness to compete. They should be proud of themselves. The scoreboard certainly did not reflect their effort.
With at least 6 players back in ac on, and the same intensity as last week; hopefully we are able to be successful this week and move one step closer to playing in the finals.
Our more consistent players over the 4 quarters (again, no par cular order) were Eli Jess, John Hinchliffe, Flynn Collins, Conrad Bea e, Maddox Dening, and Daniel Hayes. A special men on must go to Jax Vearing and Morgan
Fennel, who played their first Junior Colts game, and doing everything that was asked of them.
Incen ve awards went to; Flynn Collins (Union Cafe’) for a significant captain’s game, Eli Jess (Robe Seafood and Takeaway) ‘Nugget Award’) for very determined 4 quarter effort and Maddox Dening (Rosie’s Award) for a reliable and determined performance.
All the best for this week. Have a red hot go!
A Grade: Robe faced a determined Pt Mac at Robe and were looking to turn around their fortunes a er the recent loss to Kalangadoo
Pt Mac opened strongly with the use of the breeze and Robe were not able to capitalise on the wind when it was their turn with wind in the second and as a result went into half me four goals in arrears
Robe needed to take every opportunity but were unable to capitalise on an improved effort while Pt Mac made every post a winner
As a spectacle the game deteriorated in the second half as players lost concentra on and discipline.
For Robe it was its defenders J Robertson Regnier and Foulds who played well with Lawrie and Dunn trying hard in the midfield all day
Mini Colts: Another great game by all in some wet and slippery condi ons. Best players sponsored by Donut King Kade Grosvenor, Dane Carrison, Charlie Lasle , Riley Virgo, Max Pitson.
Senior Colts:
Last week we ventured up to our sea-side rivals. Robe were there to play and jumped out lads early, while we were s ll asleep. For majority of the 2nd quarter it was much the same story with Robe completely outplaying us, apart from a late 5 minute burst where we managed to take the lead at half me. The next quarter and a half we were much improved and showed the footy we should be playing un l a late burst from Robe in the last quarter was too good for our boys as we managed to lose by 3 points a er being 4 goals up throughout the last quarter. An inconsistent and disappoin ng game for us, but we will work on out game and come back bigger and be er next week. The boys know that they need to start well and play 4 quarters of football to win games and be successful. Best players sponsored by the Lynch family were Luke 'Magic' Richards who played 4 good quarters, Riley Morgan has been showing his consistency, Archie New as always providing composure at half back, Aidan Telford showed the boys how to get in and a ack the ball, Pa rick Robinson had a consistent game and Zaylen Smith has come out of his shell lately and been reliable in the backline. Mt Burr this week, let's play 4 quarters and work hard for a win against another quality opposi on.
B Grade: PORT MACDONNELL 7.8 lost to ROBE 12.12
We ventured to Robe last weekend to play our northern seaside counterpart, and you guessed it… ROADTRIP!!!. Seems that most of the Bay felt it was a great chance to get away from the dark and gloomy cold weather here and head for the rain and ice cold (some mes sunny!) condi ons of Guichen Bay. From what I hear some of the boys did a li le “pira ng” around town and of course we know why the shipwreck of the game played was never going to find safe harbor
The winds were fair and in the first quarter we did well to stay with Robe, but the de turned in the second with them dropping the mainsail and steaming ahead with a 5 goal punch to zip. Master and Commander for the day, “Ducky the Buccaneer “O’Dine made a few changes to the crew line up with be er effect and we were in the hunt for treasure again despite the boat taking on water Jack “Sparrow” Cawthorne maintained his yaw through the packs, keeping constant pressure on the on the Robe forwards and pushing the ball forward at every opportunity earning himself another B.O G.(Boo ul of Gold!) Grady Hutchesson and Captain “Red” Rory Na rass, shared in the centre rucking workload and in the back line stoppages sending the ball forward on many occasions. Isaac Na rass, Joel Newton Anderson and Ryan Von Stanke worked hard in s fling the Robe run on around the flanks also earning themselves a place each in the best players list.
Blair “ Blondebeard” Cu ng found gold with 4 majors while first mate Nathan Tilley, Ben “Smee” Newton and Aaron “Longs cks” Harding lent a hand with one each. Ma “Mortal” Stark and Jess Feast helped man the cannons, doing a fine job of shoo ng down the Roosters red de across the CHB and Centre line. Thank you to Morgan Feast, Brayden
Tilley and our ever-reliable senior colts Alex Lamb and Archie New for filling a few of the deckhand jobs and manning the bilge pumps.
Alas, the ship broke up, running out of wind and sea legs!… nd during the locker room rundown another mely reminder of the importance of training and fitness. We seemed a li le “all out to sea” and we’ll never find that finals treasure if we don’t s ck together or train together. We host the Mt Burr Mozzies next and we don’t need a case of malaria…so swab those decks, and ghten the sail and as Capn’ Jack Sparrow would say…”yo ho me mateys!”
A Grade: PORT MACDONNELL 16.11 def ROBE 8.12 With wintery condi ons forecast we headed to Robe and the challenge of playing a team we will most likely be seeing in the final series. The final four are shaping up and from here-on in everything we train for is on the line. I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish Mick “Sully” Sullivan a very happy birthday but also condolences on losing his sister. In true community spirit the boys in both A and B grades wore Black armbands for Colleen Itzero and Yellow armbands for the Road Safety campaign week.
Thankfully the sun shone for most of the A grade game but while the ground was s ll reasonably firm the condi ons were slippery making it hard for everyone to turn on a dime. That said, Chris an Howle and Lockie Tilley managed to keep their feet and blazed through the packs bringing the ball forward with accuracy and fundamentally assisted in many of our goals. The boys earned themselves a first and second best respec vely for their efforts.
Wil MacDonald kept up the ruck in the centre un l injury forced his re rement from the game but not before helping the scoreboard with at least one major. Ethan Gladman and Liam Bo omley worked relessly along the flanks feeding the ball into goal, with Liam sinking a couple of big ones as well.
Wade Chant and Mark Smith were instrumental in controlling the ball from the back line and through the centre as we lost another tall in Tim Sullivan to a yellow card. We welcomed back big Kev Thomson from his overseas sojourn, and he didn’t disappoint as our major mul ple goal scorer for the day with 3 big ones. Alex “Riddle” Ridding, Colby Munro, Tim Sullivan all had doubles while Jake (What’s with the haircut?) Schleter, Mark Smith, Chris an Howle , Wil MacDonald and special men on to Luke Richards (one of our upcoming senior colts) for leaving their mark on the scoreboard with one apiece. Both Luke and Kai Gilmore are showing some terrific talent, and this bodes well for the success of the club.
Special men on to Ned Wilke who not only umpired the B grade game but also carried water for the A’s while recovering from his shoulder injury….a true club man and someone who leads by example, but we will look forward to his return this week. It was a great win to have on the road, but each game is now an important one if we are to maintain our momentum heading into the finals. This week it is Mount Burr at home and while we have the crowd and home ground advantage, we know it will be ght tussle ll the final siren. GO DEMONS!

Junior Colts: Our young guns got their second win of the season. This was a great win for the boys because it came off their own back. There was inspired performances from Reed, Finn and Levi, they led from the front played out of their skin. Also Jimmy had a great game in both juniors colts and his first senior colts game. Thanks to the Kdoo kids who came along and played.
Whennan who worked hard for four quarters. Thanks to all of the boys that helped out throughout the day.
A Grade: Congratula ons to Peter Guye Jnr for playing his 300th game for Mt Burr last weekend. A huge achievement alone and to be in the 300 club alongside his dad, Peter Snr, is a true show of loyalty and longevity from a great Mt Burr family.
Horse played some great football against K’Doo and was rarely beaten, throwing his body at the ball and playing strong, tough footy.
Unfortunately we weren’t able get the win but we showed in patches that our best football is good enough, it’s just about stringing it all together.

Senior Colts: Last week we took on an undermanned kalangadoo side who gave us a bit of trouble for the first half In the second half the boys started playing some good team football and came away with a comfortable win. Best players were Charlie Bevan who presented all game and kicked a bag of 10, Cohen Montuori played a great running game, Bradlee Lawson was very elusive se ng up plenty of our a acking play, Jackson Dean was solid all game in defence, Sam hunt worked hard all game on the ball and Brady Sharp never gave up finishing off our good work in front of goals.

B Grade: A er a win the previous round against Tantanoola we were hoping to be compe ve against Kalangadoo, however, this wasn’t to be the case as they controlled the game from start to finish. We had our moments throughout the game and our effort was encouraging but we s ll have a lot to learn about posi oning. Best players for us were Tommy Hales who used the ball well, Jacob Gregory who always leads from the front, DJ who was solid across half back and Geordie
Best for the day were - S. Wallis with his excellent defensive work. Ninja who played a very impressive game. Jack Muhovics who was a welcome addi on back to our side. Horse who stood tall on his big day. Dylan Ridley who proved once again he’s one of the premier midfielders in the comp & Kal Bevan who backed up a great performance last weekend at Country Champs with a strong showing for us.
Thanks to all involved in the Li le White Lies night along with the celebra ons for Horse, was a great night at the club and a lot of fun had.

With all representa ve footy over for another year and congratula ons to all the players who represented the club over this me as we con nue to show what footy is all about at Magpie Land. Lead by Mitch & Gregsy making the SE Zone team in Nurioopta, Connor, Cooper & Brycie making U17 Interleague sides and Nateo making the U15 side with Connor & Nate both making the teams of teams of the carnivals in their respec ve grades. Shows the future is bright and exci ng.
Last weekend saw us head to Mt Burr in near perfect condi ons for footy with the ground looking in good shape and most of our sides with full numbers. Once again, the U11’s: kicked off the day and with the Burr only having limited numbers they mixed in with Maggies and made a real game of it for both sides.
Junior Colts: A er a win in the 1st round against the young Mozzies, Macca had the side up and about prior to the game with a bit of excitement in the changerooms in the aim to repeat round 1 heroics and scoring 2nd win for the year. Unfortunately, the Mozzies jumped out of the blocks in the 1st Qtr holding us scoreless while kicking 3 goals themselves even though we had our fair share of the play, just couldn’t get the ball through the big s cks. The 2nd Qtr was almost iden cal with plenty of ball for the Maggies and the midfield working hard and managed to get a goal on the board but unfortunately couldn’t hold the Burr from scoring another 3 themselves to be down 31 points at the half. The second half saw the game even out and the young Maggies found themselves with more of the ball and gaining some control of the footy with some strong work all over thr ground to finish the game strong. Best players went to Joe Box, mason Meulenmeesters, Preston Lydeamore, Elodie Burr & Lachy McCann.
Senior Colts: In what was always going to be a tough day for our colts with the numbers looking a bit light and the Burr having full complement, a credit to Tim Li le and the Burr boys who played across to make sure we had a game and make a contest of it. As with the junior colts, the Burr jumped out of the blocks with a 5 goal 1st term but to the boys credit they had ba led had and the midfield were breaking even but weight of numbers around the ground meant the colts couldn’t hold them. Throughout the 4 Qtrs there were some real posi ves for the lads to take out of the game as they con nue to build and with the addi on of a few addi onal players anything is possible for this group. Best players went to Coop, harry, Connor, Nateo & Joe Box.
B Grade: Super condi ons for football greeted as Mount Burr on Saturday as we prepared for what is always a really tough contest against the Mozzies on their home deck and this was no excep on on the weekend. Even though we had a number of players return to the side with some regular A grade players also having an early start; the game was hotly contested early. We were fortunate to kick accurately in the first quarter and were able to kick 5 goals straight whilst Mount Burr also managed a couple of majors with the ball spending a
considerable amount of me in our defensive half keeping the likes of Tom Jerome and Jus n Mansell busy. Through the work of Jacob Simmonds, Jonny Mules and Jack O’Connor in the middle we were slowly able to control the game and provide forward entries and numerous forward scoring opportuni es for Mitch Varcoe and Cooper McCann. Although the closeness of contest was not reflected in the scoreboard we were able to secure an 84 point victory We look forward to hos ng Nangwarry this week who were able to defeat us earlier in the year and are therefore we are looking forward again to a tough contest.
A Grade: A er loosing to the Burr in a s nging ght one at home in the 1st round Lynsey had the group primed and ready to return the favour back on the Burr. With pre y much a full complement to choose from at selec on on Thursday night the coaching panels are ge ng tougher by the week. As with each passing week the side is se ling into their roles across the ground and with several playing good footy in the 2’s it’s making sure everyone is stepping up to the mark each week.
With the Burr going for a younger line up and focus on speed it was always going to mean the bigger bodies and experience would end up coming to the fore but s ll meant the Maggies had to play 4 Qtrs of quality football to get the job done. As with the last couple of rounds we managed to jump out of the blocks in what was a tough grinding 1st quarter a er the Burr boys kicked the 1st but from there on the Maggies stepped it up to be up by 26 points at the 1st break. The second term started almost iden cal to the 1st with Burr registering the 1st before the experience and bigger bodies of the Maggies took control to be up by 49 points at the main break ad seemingly control of the game. We have all come to learn can never write the Mozzies off and, in the 3rd, they found a li le spark a er we had kicked the 1st in what was an even and really tough quarter off footy. To our credit we managed to shut the game down and score 4 goals of our own to be up by 45 points and the final change. The final break Lynsey asked for 1 last effort to shut the game out and win the quarter and the maggies replied with some quality ball movement, hard contested footy and strong defensive pressure to come away with an important 57 point win.
Congratula ons to Brad Auld in receiving the Mac Road Safety award for best on ground.
Best players we hard to pick as an even performance across the ground over the 4 quarters but in the end went to Tom Schumacher, Brad Auld, Lachy Jones, Ben Gregory, Sam McManus & Sam Casey
A er a few weeks of no footy at Magpie Park we look forward to welcoming the Saints in what should be another quality day of footy and make sure hang around for a feed and presenta ons a er the game.
Don’t forget to lock in Sunday 30th July for the Goods & Services Auc on. A major fundraiser for the club with plenty on offer for everyone and is always a good day

Plenty of clouds but no rain and a li le sunshine greeted us at home a er 2 weeks off. It was good to have a li le break but even be er to be back playing netball. We congratulate Cassie Dinnison on her 300th senior game for Nangwarry, Cassie is a talented player, dedicated club person and even more a netball mentor to many. 300 games is a huge achievement and we hope to see a few more games yet.
Well done to all involved with Miss Nangwarry, it was a great night with many laughs. The boys involved really dedicated themselves to the cause with waxing, shaving and tanning. Congratula ons to Jasmine on her win.
Under 11's: This week we took on Tant at home and the weather was almost perfect for football. Tant lent us a few players so a big thanks to you guys. When play got under way all the kids gave there all the a ack on the ball was fantas c all game hopefully get a few numbers out on the track this week and see you all at the doo next week.
first half. A few stern words and the boys kicked into ac on, and the move of Trent to centre half back where he controlled the defence. As the game went on the boys in the middle found form and it showed on the scoreboard. This week we take on our neighbours which will be a tuff job, but I’ve got confidence that they can get the job done. Best Sco y, Donny, BJ, Josh Clayfield, Josh Smith, Trent. Goals Josh Clayfield 3 Big Ben 3 Donny. 2 Jayden. 2 Josh S. 2 Sco y. 1 Go the Saints
A Grade: A er 2 weekends of no football it was nice to be back greeted by Sunshine and perfect condi ons when we played host to Tantanoola.
The break gave us an opportunity to work key areas for improvement from our last ou ng.
Junior Colts: Not a great final result for our under 14s this week, unfortunately we were short staffed this week which didn't start our day well. Aside from that the 13 boys we had turn up gave it their all. We did unfortunately play really patchy footy for 4 quarters. All in all though there was some really good to watch. We played really a acking footy off our hal ack and we were able to generate some run out of defence. We definitely could've made be er use of our inside 50s and convert a few majors. The effort we get from the team week to week is great to watch and they can always walk off knowing they've done all they can for each other
Best players Jack Pudney, Logan Gibbs, Thomas Vanderhorst, Adam Todd, Luke Thomson, Jacob Hutchesson.
From the outset our intent and skill level was much be er and were unlucky to be behind at quarter me due to not capitalising our opportuni es being inaccurate in front of goal. Second quarter we were outscored 4 goals to 2 however we had our moments and some short lapses of concentra on allowed the opposi on to kick consecu ve goals. A er the main break we executed a good quarter of football linking together good passages of play and put 4 goals on the board to keep us within reach of Tantanoola leading into the last quarter. We didn't start the last quarter with the intensity we know we are capable of and didn't hit the scoreboard un l the half way point of the final term. We con nued to play out the game strongly un l the end and was very pleasing to see a much improved performance from our exci ng young playing group. Goal kickers Andy Hyland 4 and singles to Jake Biggs, Dylan Podobnik, Josh Weedon and Noah Virtanen. Senior Colts: The boys took on tant Saturday, under manned and undersized the Boys fought hard all day which is all I can ask for. They are improving each week in one way or another. Best players were archer, noz and Benne . We move to Kalangadoo this week which will be a good match up for us boys.
B Grade: Well a er a few weeks off the boys where a bit scratchy in the
This week we travel up the road to our neighbours Kalangadoo and we look forward to the challenge.
Last game we ventured to Hatherleigh in wet condi ons to challenge ourselves against 4 very prominent sides. We managed to come away with only one win from the day, with our Junior Colts con nuing their winning way against tough opposi on. The biggest milestone of the day was the celebra on of Trent Hawke playing his 300th Senior game for the Glencoe Football Club. Trent epitomises commitment, relentlessness, and toughness. I have never seen him shy away from a contest and he plays through injuries that some blokes wouldn't even be able to walk with. He has barely missed a training in his career, has been an A Grade premiership player for the club and will now be a rare 300 game Life Member Congratula ons to Trent from all at the Glencoe footy club.
Junior Colts: The Junior Colts started the day in great fashion with a hard fought win in wet and cold condi ons. Facing off against another top 4 side there was always going to be a finals like atmosphere to the match. The boys played great footy on the big oval and were able to hit the scoreboard when it ma er, even though they showed some inaccurate kicking. The final score was 3.8.26 to 2.0.12. Best players were Tighe Hurley, Sam Haase, Kade Mulraney, Kallan Price and Blake Gosden.
Senior Colts: The Senior Colts put together an excellent performance against a top 4 opposi on also. We are con nuing to show great improvement each week and are hoping more wins come our way in the 2nd half of the year. The big oval probably didn't suit us, bit we were able to provide pressure for the whole match. The final score was 6.0.36 to 13.9.87. Best players were
Shane Longhurst, Patrick Langsmith, Tyrone SiebertNorman, Kaleb Price, Bailey Rothall and Marcus McGrath.
B Grade: The Reserves were facing off against the top side and reigning premiers of the last few years. It was the same old story for the reserves, with about 10 blokes out and 10 in. A few old veteran faces made their way into the line up and they were more than handy, hopefully we see them stay in the team from here on. Again, we just didn't have enough legs to go with the opposi on and they were a quality ou it who were able to outrun us. We went down by 122 points. Best players were Jack Miller, Josh Agars, Bailey Rothall, Bevan Lipscombe and Ma hew Jaeschke.
A Grade: The Seniors started the game really well being even at quarter me. We were matching intensity and moving the ball at will. A er quarter me Hatherleigh made some changes and we were being out matched in all parts of the ground. We started to slowly leak goals and just found it hard to get the ball inside our forward 50. Our scoring dried up for the rest of the game and we couldn't stop the run on the big oval. A bad injury to Jason Bates will likely see him miss the rest of the year, so wish him a speedy recovery. The final score saw us go down by 95 points. Best players were Henry Smith, Dylan Pfitzner, Dylan Childs, Patrick Mitchell and Will Maloney.
A er the Country Champs bye and our club bye we will be back at home to take on Kongorong. Our Home Game sponsor will be Vitality Personal Training Studio. We will also be celebra ng 50 years since to grand opening of our clubrooms.

A great turn out for our Past Players Day and 2002-2003-2004 Reserves Premiership Re-union. Premierships are special, and you don’t have to see each other regularly to be able catch up and pick up where you last le off, have a good day out, share the stories and reminisce on the legendary mes. Thank you to all that made the effort to come along, it was great to see you all, and hopefully not so long ll we see you again.
Last weeks round up and award winners:
Under 11’s: This week our li le Hawks came up against Hatherleigh, which proved a good hit out. It was great to see our players commi ng hard to every contest and playing a good team brand of football. Thanks to our players that filled in for Hatherleigh also, a great display of sportsmanship. Awards: Rob & Amy Whi y Award – Van Byron, Intersport - Zayley Vandepeer, Coaches Award - Huey Harding, Donut King - Coby Brant, Club Award – Elijah ‘Rooster’ Aikenhead, President’s Award - Judd Buntsma.
Junior Colts: Had a great win on Saturday. We were short on players, but so were Hatherleigh, which made it interes ng, playing 14 a side. Our teamwork and ball use was great, always improving. Awards: Lucas Family Award – Ryan Lucas, Aussie Disposals – Declan Richardson, Spot-On Fishing TackleAxel Page, Janeway Plumbing – Koby Galloway, Paradise Pizza – Mason Galpin with Noah Vons StankeDowie and Jacob Gordon rounding out the best players.
Senior Colts: Some wayward kicking saw us post twenty points for the game, with only seven majors. A bit of prac ce at training in the goal kicking area and we can flip this around to be more advantageous in the upcoming games. Good to have Jack Aus n return to the side, and he was in good form to take home second best and the Swallow Drive meats Award. First best went to Ethan Williamson with the MT Wheels Award, Jobe Janeway the Mick Mullan Award, Coach’s Award went to Will Von Stanke, who is in some great form at the moment, and Harrison Elletson received the Badenoch’s Deli Award with Ryan
Taylor named in sixth best. This week we face Glencoe on their home turf, let’s bring home the win!!
Reserves: A tough day against the best team in the league. Our effort was good, but we were no match for the Eagles. Hopefully we can get some more soldiers back from injury soon and get back on track. Best players for the day: Sean MaddernCommercial Hotel, 150 Senior Game player Andrew ‘Noddy’ TelfordCollins Court Butcher Award, Mark Paech - Killara Food Court, Lachie Pulford - Pick Avenue Deli, Sean Farrell - Club Tea along with Paul Ellis. Let’s bounce back this week against the Murphies.
Seniors: The boys had a good start to the game with plenty of the ball, just unable to convert to a score. Towards the end of the quarter Hatherleigh kicked a handful to put them infront. The second and third quarters were much the same, we again had plenty of the ball, we were just unable to convert on the scoreboard. Finally in the last quarter it was a good hit out with the boys able to put a couple of goals on the board. Can’t fault their endeavour and hopefully we can gain some players back from injury and have a chance of a be er result. S ck at it, we’re a young group and there’s a big future ahead if we stay together and work hard to build success. Awards: Will Von Stanke –Commercial Hotel Award, Ethan Norman – Collins Court Butchers Award, Will Vickery, celebra ng his 50th A Grade game, was awarded the mug and a Club tea Award, Adam Properi-Porta – Killara Food Centre, Joel Maconachie - Club Tea Award and Riley Maconachie the Pick Ave Deli Award.

Tommy 'TJ' Hunter wanted to make a difference, and raise awarenessaround depression, suicide, anxietydisordersand other related mental illness. He decided to firstly grow his hair, then shave off his hair, beard and (if enough money raised), his eyebrows....... all to coincide with the Kongorong Sportsmen'sClub'sBeyondBlueround.
TJ succeeded in raising over $4000 for the cause, and was supported by a huge crowd at the Club on Saturday night. Adam Kilsby and Joel Maconachie decided to throw their support in by also ge ng their hair shaved off and contribu ngtothetotalraised.
Hairdresser Monique Buckingham donated her me and skills to oversee and dy up the new looks adorned by the trio.

Hatherleigh host the Roosters this weekend in what is set to be a close game with both teams figh ng for a spot in the top four. Robe defenders Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins will apply the pressure to Hatherleigh’s goalies Demi Vanderhorst and Maddie Pulmer, meaning that Erin Watson and Rosie Ne le will need to feed in with accuracy. Annie Regnier and Halle Carter will need to work hard to prevent their opponents from ge ng onto the goal circle, crea ng turnovers wherever possible. Down the other end of the court Tori Gluyas and Demi Carter have proven that they are able to shoot with accuracy and move well together in the goal circle, however they will be under intense pressure from Maddie Redman and Elly Redden. This game could go either way and both teams will fight hard for the points.
The Mozzies head to the Bay to play off against Port MacDonnell this weekend. The return of Madi Hagge to the Mount Burr side has already had an impact with Hagge able to get hands to balls and create turnovers in the defensive circle, pairing well with Olivia Dean. Port MacDonnell’s Megan Hein and Kori Collins are strong in the goal circle for the Demons and will need to be fed with accuracy from outside by Liza Mutch and Shannon Scheidl. Down the other end of the court Port MacDonnell’s defenders Alana Berkefeld and Alysha Coon will put on lots of pressure over the ball and chase up any rebounds. Mount Burr goalies Megan Thiele and Ebony Clark combine well in the circle, with both goalies shoo ng with accuracy and being fed well form outside by Laura Schultz and Ella Easterby. This game has the poten al to go either way and will be fought hard by both teams.
The Saints and Magpies face off this weekend at Kalangadoo. Nangwarry’s Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock combine well in the defensive goal circle and will need to force errors and create turnovers before the ball gets into the hands of Abbey Duncan and Ebony McDiarmid inside the goal circle, as both are able to shoot with accuracy throughout the circle. Jayde Peacock and Jane Auld drive hard to the circle and are able to feed their goalies with ease, however they will be under pressure from Nangwarry’s Claire Ferguson and Carly Ploenges. Down the other end of the court Saints goalies Hayley Vanderhorst and Tahlia Wilson will combine well in their goal circle, however they will be pressured by Lauren Kain and Lara Munro, who have proven to be a formidable force in the defensive circle for the Pies. This game will finish with Kalangadoo coming out the victors, but Nangwarry will make them earn every ball.
Glencoe host the Hawks this weekend, with the Murphies coming off of a two-week break. Glencoe defenders Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen will put the pressure on for Kongorong’s goalies Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey. Hawks Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody combine well and create turnovers from their pressure; however, they will need to do what they can to prevent the ball from ge ng into the hands of Glencoe goalies, Chantelle Cocks and Jenna Paproth. Any turnovers for Kongorong will be worked back down the court by Rach Perry and Kate Wright. Chloe Pfitzner and Donna Jaeschke apply pressure over the ball, and chase up any loose passes, conver ng turnovers through their goalies. Glencoe will come away with the win, however Kongorong will fight hard for the whole game.
