South East Representative Sides Battle in the Think! Road Safety SA Country Championships

Last weekend, both the Men's and Women's South East representave sides competed in the Think! Road Safety SA Country Championships held at Victor Harbor. The compeon kicked off on Friday night with both sides facing off against Eyre Peninsula (EP).

The women's match was a ght contest throughout, with neither team managing to gain a clear advantage. Despite South East's efforts, EP capitalized on their limited opportunies and secured a 1-3 to 1-1 victory

In the men's match against EP, South East struggled to adapt to the condions early on and found themselves playing catch-up. Despite a stronger second half, they fell just short, losing by two points with a final score of EP 4-6 to South East 4-4.

On Saturday, the women faced Centrals in the second round of preliminary games. It was a heartbreaker for South East, as they narrowly lost by a single point, with the final score being Centrals 2-2 to South East 2-1.

The men's second match against Centrals saw them start strongly, but Centrals' efficient ball use and mulple goal scorers proved too much. The game ended with Centrals 7-2 defeang South East 4-3.

Sunday brought some redempon for the Men's side, who played off for 5th/6th place against Northern. In a ghtly contested match, South East eventually emerged victorious, winning 9-7 to 6-6.

The Women's side, playing for 3rd/4th place, faced EP again, seeking to avenge their Friday night loss. Despite a valiant effort, they were defeated by a determined EP side, with the final score 9-6 to 2-4.

Overall, it was a weekend of hard-fought matches and valuable experience for the South East representave sides. Congratulaons to all player who represented the South East, especially our Mid South Eastern Football League reps in Dylan Childs (Glencoe), Mitch Pulmer & Patrick Chay (Hatherleigh), Tye McManus (Kalangadoo), Sam Wallis (Mt Burr), Assistant Coach Clint Gallio (Mt Burr), trainer Sam Benne (Hatherleigh) and team manager Peter Mitchell (League).

football club notes

In one of the toughest asks in country footy we headed to the vast open spaces of Hatherleigh as we look to connue our good run in most grades and start having one eye on the major rounds come end August/September Hatherleigh at home will always test to see exactly where you are at and last me out proved no different.

Thanks goes to our junior game day sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrento's, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly junior club encouragement award.

Under 11: Both sides having an abundance of numbers meant we were able to open the ground up and let the kids play. This suited the young Maggies who were able to put a show on and have all the hard work from training out there for everyone to witness. Although a lile dewy and slippery the quality of footy was there and great to see. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Killara Food Court.

Junior Colts: It’s been a long me coming and a rarity but our Junior Colts can say they are the “form team” of the compeon currently with another srring win over a top 2 side to now take them to equal 2nd spot in what was a commanding game over top of the ladder-leading young Hatherleigh side. The 1st 3 qtrs was a real even affair on the scoreboard although the young Maggies probably had more than their share of the ball but just couldn't get the results up forward, however sll managed a 8 point lead at the final break. The last qtr proved the difference holding the young Eagles to a single behind while adding 2.1 ourselves to end up with a 20 point win. Best players went to Jack Barry – Spot On, Nathaniel Cooper – Bunnings, Axel Reeves – OK Pie Shop, Preston Lydeamore – Bakers Delight, Harvey Gull – Coaches Award.

Senior Colts: Playing 13-a-side on the big Hatherleigh oval meant plenty of space to run for the senior colts and Nato & Axe did exactly that over the 4 quarters with the help from our Junior Colts & a few Hatherleigh lads. Thanks to Paddy & lads for making sure we had a game and allowing the boys to warm up together. Best players went to Nato – The Roadhouse, Axe – Country

Atude, Jack Barry – KD's Deli, Nathaniel Cooper – OK Pie Shop, Charlie Widdison – Aussie Disposals.

Reserves: Players unavailable and illness swooping through the nest meant Auldy was on the search for players during the morning to make sure we had the numbers to play. With a different looking side and a few players out of rerement meant it was going to be a tough ask for the Ressies against a well drilled Eagles side on their home deck. Much to the guy's credit they cracked in for the 4 qtrs and showed that with a full side the Maggies will be able to take it up to the best in the comp (for now!) Best players went to Axel Page, Reevsey, Simmo, Tommy Jerome, Tommy Ags.

Seniors: Fronng up to a very will drilled Eagles ouit on their home deck is always a tough ask, made even more so with a few key outs at either end of the ground. But Lynsey has not let this be an excuse all year as there is 18 v 18 and everyone should be looking to beat their opponents to be accountable to the team. We always knew the Eagles would be looking to jump out the blocks early and pile the pressure on and it took the leaders a lile while to sele things down so we could hang on to the footy and slowly work our way back into the game. The Maggies finished the beer of the 2 sides for the qtr although down by 25 points at the 1st break. Something clicked in the second as players across the ground started winning their posions and using the open spaces to benefit as we got on top of the Eagles holding them goalless while being able to add a couple of addional goals ourselves to cut the margin to 15 points at the half. The 3rd saw the game ebb and flow for both sides, and neither could manage to get ascendance on their opponents across the ground and looked on for another tough encounter in the last for these 2 quality sides. Geng the 1st goal in the last one could have thought might have been enough to kickstart the Maggies but seemed to just get the Eagles up and running and going. In the end the weight of numbers was against the Maggies going down by a tough 42 points but with some posive things to take out of the game. Best players went to Sammy Mac, Robbie Hein, Tye Mac, Connor, Jut Bromley & Nato. Aer a week off to rest & recharge we are back on our home deck next up as we welcome the Roosters in what is always a quality day of footy and some tough games. Make sure to hang around aer presentaons & teas for the night of nights as the crown for “Miss

will be hotly contested.

ROBE ROOSTERS

football club notes

Senior Colts: We took on Kongorong at home and with a few away from both sides we played with 16-a-side. Aer an even first quarter with both sides scoring 2 goals apiece we started to play the beer football, using the ball well and sharing it around to kick 4.3 to no score in the second. The next half saw us connue to play good team footy to eventually run out winners by 25 points. It was great to see us work together as a team and reap the rewards for doing so. Best for the day were Seb in the ruck, Kaiden, Nathan and the birthday boy Southo, incenve went to Archie and Benny but it's hard to choose best players when everyone played their part. Cheers, Leroy.

B Grade: A big win over an undermanned Kongorong last game. Historically the Hawks have been a tough game for our boys so it's nice to have a good win. 12 goalkickers in a solid team performance. Kane Cross played his best game of the year as did Ollie Hagge, Sam Huebner kicking 5 and pung pressure on Dawson for the goalkicking trophy, Jordan Hentschke has fied into the side well. Zack Donnelly is pung together a good run of form and Ollie Benne is also playing well week in week out. Big assignment this week playing the Doo on their home deck is always tough. Keep playing the footy we want to play and keep having fun the results will keep coming. Go Roosters.

A Grade: What another cracking winters day for

football at Robe. Well great if you’re not a farmer! The first quarter was a draw, Kongorong taking it right up to us with some great defensive work. We just couldn’t get through to create scores. The Sherrin was playing havoc for both teams, it may have been from the defect pile I reckon. We clicked into gear in the second and third, piling on 19 goals and ended with 6 in the last. Joely B was everywhere dominang the air and the scoreboard and finished with 8. Jacko Sneath also had a day out kicking 7, Smithy also chimed in with 4. The run Browny and G.Dus provided off half back was excellent, set up countless forays forward. Captain Henry again led from the front clearing the ball and geng it forward. And Robe’s own pair of “Magic Mikes” Sam Bates and Patrick Mathews were electric around the ground with their ferocious tackling and pressure acts. From all accounts they make a great pair on the dance floor as well. See you all at Kalangadoo in a couple of weeks!

NANGWARRY SAINTS

Junior Colts: Travelled to Mt Burr last round, good to go over with a full team and also good to see Mt Burr with beer numbers. We started off a lile shaky but once we warmed up and got a few things straightened up we found our groove and got our game going. A couple of our forwards combine for 12 goals between them was great to watch, our midfield worked relessly all game working hard to help defence and pushing the ball forward and our backs worked well as a unit all day. Was great footy to watch.

Senior Colts: A tough day for the U17 coming up against a very strong and well drilled Mt Burr side at the worst possible me. Unfortunately injury and illness meant that we weren't able to put our strongest side on the park but those who did play were very good. Again, our kicking inside 50 wasn't at its best and a few things defensively didn't go our way but overall the effort was excellent and pressure was at its usual high level. Archer Virtanen and Bay McKinnon were good all day both in the midfield and fwd. The break has come at a perfect me to rest up what has become a mounng injury toll.

B Grade: Up against it from the first bounce with 10 members of the team not being able to play due to injury and work and A graders not rocking up on game day which resulted in another one of my players geng pulled up to A grade about 2 minutes before the game, but besides all that the lads had a dip, couldn't be more proud of the team. Thank you to all the under 17s who helped out and to a few of the old fellas who chucked the boots on again. Heading into a much needed bye round so hopefully we can all freshen up and come back ready to go in a few weeks.

A Grade: Not the ideal start with some late game day withdrawals due to unforeseen circumstances. Most of our players played out of their normal posions due to urgent team changes. However, again, the integrity of our group cannot be quesoned. Through the distracons our boys rolled up their sleeves and got to work against a side sing in the top 4. Within the first 5 minutes of the game we lost last year's Best and Fairest Jack Pudney to injury, meaning we had to ask first gamer Billy Prey to contest in the ruck all game and what a lion hearted role he played. Hats off to you Billy, great game mate. We started the game well, being able to enter our

forward 50 on numerous occasions and not allowing our opposion easy forward transion. The second quarter the Burr boy's midfield and overall run got out early but to our boys credit they dug in, re-engaged in the contest and rewarded their efforts with 3 goals, allowing us to go into the main break with a good feeling about ourselves. For the remainder of the game we were able to find so many posives. The Burr are a good team and play their home ground well and I have no doubt will feature in this year's finals. But at no stage did our efforts lapse and we strung together good transions of ball movement for the remaining 2 quarters. We were buoyed by so many individual performances whether it was the excitement of our u17's taking on the game or the confidence growth of players adapng to senior football or have been down on recent form or the class of some of our more senior footballers. The scoreboard was not a reflecon of our game. Our boys were challenged, their intent and efforts did not lapse, they did everything asked of them and the sheer joy this gave me is the exact reason why I love to coach football. Goal kickers for the day were Andy Hyland 3, Calais Borman 1, Blake Neshoda 1 and a big congratulaons to Bay McKinnon on kicking his first senior goal. Best players were Joel Virtanen - at the age of 21 played a true skipper’s game and his understanding of the game and skill set was on full display. Isaac Raymond - ran and competed relessly all day and his form consistency this year connues to impress. Calais Bormanan under 17 that turned it on. He just glides and could have ended up with a couple more goals to his name. Wait unl this young colt grows into his legs! Johnno Mills - gently reminded us of what qualies Johnno brings to the table. Hardnosed straight style football that installs confidence in his teammates around him. Jake McKeonprovided run all day. Wore his heart on his sleeve and his disposal was on point. Blake Neshoda - due to circumstances he was challenged to fill the role of a key forward. He's sll only young but his efforts could not be quesoned and his connual push to provide a target/contest all day was very impressive. Numerous players were deserved to be on the best players list and were unlucky to miss out. Our next opponent is Hatherleigh at Nangwarry, a challenge we very much look forward to.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes

B Grade: The old injury bug has really giving the Ressies a shake up the last couple of weeks, but to the boys’ credit they pull together no maer who steps into the side and put a good performance in week-in week-out. We knew Kalangadoo was going to be a tough game. It was a good fast game of footy for most of the day. We eventually ran out 33 point winners. Let's hope we can get some numbers back over the bye and start hing our straps come the right end of the season. Best player Eli Kneen, Jack Marino, Baz Lindner, Riley Shanks and Jack Altschwager who finished the day with 6 snag rolls.

Senior Colts: Last game we hosted Kalangadoo at home. The boys got a win but was about more than the 4 points. Kalangadoo has been struggling with numbers this year and it was nice to get a bit of a scratch match going to get all the boys a game. Ended up with a 13-a-side game with sll quality footy geng played. Credit to the boys for sll giving it a good go and most importantly having fun. Best, the Denton’s Sportspower award, went to Cooper Walters kicking 7. I thought we had prime Jamie Elliot down there at one point! Second best the Stumpy Award went to Fletch Leopold in the ruck all day. Third the Gino's Pizza award went to Aussie Nele. 4th the Gino's Pizza award went to Archie Morgan. 5th best the Pete Walter’s award went to James Solomon. A league bye then into Nangwarry!

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

football club notes

A Grade: Pt MacDonnell 20.20 def Nangwarry 6.3. Surprisingly sunny for such a cold day and we were greeted with only a shower or two during the game, but thankfully it had rained most of the night and soened the ground a fair bit. While the game would have the expected outcome, we were caught napping or more to the point inaccurate with our kicking in the first quarter which saw Nangwarry with the lead at the first break. To their credit, Nangas came at us hard, but we managed to switch up a gear and move the ball through the midfield with a lile more pressure giving us a reasonable lead at the half break. Talls and smalls were evenly matched across the field and while it was sll a tussle, we were able to clear the ball from the back line with some strategic placement. Our kicking in front of goal improved but we sll need to be able to finish beer going into the run for a finals berth. Best players – Josh Woodall, Nathan Bell, Ethan Gladman, Zack Williams, Colby Munro and Alex Ridding. Goal kickers – Chrisan Howle 5, Josh Woodall, Tim Sullivan 4, Jake Turner 3, Ethan Gladman 2, Colby Munro and Je Aard 1 each. We have Mt Burr next, in front of the home crowd and should be match ready aer the 2-week break. Every game is significant now if we are to make the 4, so train hard to play hard. Go Demons!

B Grade: Pt MacDonnell 4.10 lost Nangwarry 11.8. The Nangwarry game has always been a favourite of mine in the fixture as it feels like you’re vising old family friends and at this me of the year when it’s usually “Brass Monkey” cold, there is a fire burning, plenty of port, the steaks are tasty and generally the compeon and the community are exactly what I feel our “Family League” is all about. Yes, we came to watch and play football/netball (in droves, judging by the 3 deep cars around the

eastern side) but we also came to yak and catch up. It had been a good day so far as the sun was shining, the Jnr games were great to watch and hotly contested with only a handful of points between the outcomes (Jr colt lost by 10 pts, Snr Colt won by 2 pts) and it hadn't rained…yet! As for the Ressies we were in touch for 3 quarters but fell away in the last, and if it wasn't for our Senior Colts (Archie New, Koby Stratman, Flynn Gray, Casey Wilson, Je Lewis and Angus McKinnon) we may have suffered a bigger loss. Aaron Harding played a stand-out game in the ruck/rover posion, contesng and marking well over most of the ground earning the BOG. Archie New and Koby Stratman never slowed their aack on the ball through both forward and back lines giving them 2nd and 3rd respecvely. Age and experience from Nick Byrne steadied our midfield with some very strategic stoppages which garnered him the 4th spot with Casey Wilson (rucking heir apparent!) picking up 5th best for his endless energy in both rucking and pressure through the flanks. All the snr colts excelled and considering the tough win they had just played; I wish I could bole their energy! Honourable menons also go to Jacob Dixon, Flynn Gray and Aidan Telford for their vigorous efforts across the back line skirmishes. Ben Newton was our leading goalkicker with 3 big ones and Archie New snapped 1 to give us our total (hmmm… either more targets up front or goalkicking pracce is required I think as the SOS received a fair massage). Welcome to Jacob Hall, playing his first game for the Bay and welcome back to Connor Twomey. It's a two week break for the moan and groan brigade so we should be as fresh as the proverbial daisies! Mt Burr at home is always a challenge but let's see if we can take the bouquet! Go Demons!

football club notes

Junior Colts: It was a well fought bale that the scoreline doesn't reflect. The boys came out strong and made them earn every goal in the first half of the game. Jack had his best game laying tackle aer tackle. Archer and Nate had some good link up play in the forward line. Reed and Mostyn played well connuing their great form.

Senior Colts: We had a tough week against Nangwarry who challenged our boys throughout the game. Their 3rd quarter was the difference where we kicked 5 goals to set up our win.

B Grade: Beauful condions greeted us for our home game against Nangwarry. We needed to respond aer a disappoinng loss to them in R3. We came out in the first quarter and played the type of football we know we are capable of playing. A 5 goal quarter saw the boys up and about and had us in an unfamiliar posion with a large lead. To the undermanned Nangwarry team’s credit, the next quarter and a half they matched us around the ground and we were lucky our defence held up and refused to concede a goal. Then in a 5 minute burst we put the game away. Much of this was set up by Braeden Thwaites who relished his new role as a forward and ended up kicking 6 goals for the game. In the last quarter, we threw the magnets around a bit and it was great to see some other players play in some different posions. Thanks to Cambell, Max & Dylan who doubled up aer their senior colts game to help us field a team. Best

players were Braeden Thwaites, Jack Francis, Ed Ballantyne, George Wimshurst, Brodie Robbins & Noah Telfer.

A Grade: A great result in the end for us heading into a week off. We played consistent enough footy throughout the game with Nangwarry making it hard for us at mes to score. We looked really good when we spread the ground, used our open bloke and then got going from there. We had contributors across all areas of the ground and showed some really good patches of team footy. At mes we went away from this which really proved to us that what we were doing works, and if we are willing to do it consistently enough, we will improve so much as a group. We need to make sure we are connuing to improve geng towards the end of the season and winning the games we should, hopefully seng us up for a finals berth.

football club notes

We made our way to Robe as we took on a very talented, skilful club. Thank you once again to our junior players that connue to step up and work hard throughout our senior teams.

Under 11: The young Hawks travelled to Robe where Auskick and Under 11’s both played at the same me. The confidence of this group of kids connues to grow each week. Thank you to Robe for a well set up morning which was enjoyed by all.

Awards: Jack McKenzie (Intersport), Ryder Telford (Presidents Award), Nash Brant (Coaches Award), Nathaniel Elletson (Club Voucher), Huey Harding (Brant Family Award) and Harry Collins (Donut King).

Junior Colts: We had a few out sick for this game including coach Paechy, but the 16 who played baled well against a bigger Robe team. With a few players having extra responsibility and playing in posions where they were asked to take on bigger opponents, it was good to see the effort for the full 4 quarters. Best players were Connor Gordon (Lucas Family Award), Lola Geddes (Spot On Fishing), Lyla Bayley (Aussie Disposals), Koby Galloway (Janeway Plumbing Award), Ivy Trigg (Club Voucher), and Isiah Hunt (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: Was beauful condions at Robe for footy, with a breeze heading to one end which we kicked with in the first quarter to come in with a slight lead. However Robe made the most of the breeze and 4 goals to 0 and we couldn’t quite catch up from there. The third quarter we managed to keep them quiet but were not making the most of our hard work down back. The fourth quarter we managed to move the footy beer than we had most of the day. To the boys credit they never gave up with the week of sickness making its

way through the club and well done to those who played. Best went to Drew Paerson (Mahew’s Petroleum) Jacko Bald (MT Wheels), Ma Aarts (DA’Leni Meats), Ryan Lucas (Mick Mullan Award), Luke Allen (Badenochs Deli) and Bryce von Stanke-Dowie (Coaches Award).

B Grade: Very tough day against the top side. Robe are a talented side and although we copped the wrong side of it on the scoreboard, it was important to take something from the match. Once again our youngsters were brilliant and worked hard to play the game in the way they’ve been praccing. Full credit goes to them and coach Sco for the way they are progressing. Hard work is the only way forward. Shaun Beard, Samuel Whitehead, Adam ProsperiPorta, Drew Paerson, Jackson Bald, Luke Allen were our award winners. Thanks to Collins Court Butchers, The Commercial Hotel, BCF, Mitre 10, Pick Avenue Deli and the club for the award sponsorship.

A Grade: The boys came out firing in the first quarter, matching Robe and looking dangerous. We came out in the second and really let ourselves down, allowing Robe to score 10 goals for the quarter. A team is going to be hard to stop with that big of a lead, but to the boys credit, once again, they fought hard to keep their structures and played really well in patches. There were a few minor skill errors, which cost the boys a fair few scoring shots but credit to Robe without taking anything from them, they have been a good ouit all year. Awards went to Campbell Graney (Commercial Hotel), Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Collins Court Butcher), Darcy Hunt (Club Tea), Will von Stanke (Club Tea), Elliot Modra (BCF) and Charlie Schultz (Pick Ave Deli).

Junior Colts: Last game we took on Glencoe at home and coming in to the game you could tell they were looking for redempon and boy did they come out firing kicking the first 2 goals of the game. However the team weren't gonna let that happen fighng back and worked together to get back the lead in what would be another great game coming right down to the final siren again with our team taking home the chocolates by one point. Best players on the day were Summer Batchelor, Jayden Hunter, Jedd Hardingham, Jack “The Finisher” Rowe boong 3 goals and Jaxon Long and Julian Silva steadying the back line down all day

Senior Colts: Back on home turf on a beauful day for football our boys were up and about and it was good to see. The boys started really well, we had a lot of football and our pressure was the best it's been all year. Aer the first quarter it was Glencoe 2 points to us 1 so we started how we wanted

to. In the second half we went away from our style of play and started to run out of legs, that's when Glencoe flexed their muscles and kicked away winning comfortably. Overall the boys had the best game for the year and should all hold their heads high. Goal kicker was Braydn Hateley and best were Eli Bowman, Brayden Rowe, Braydn Hateley, Chance Mitchell, Ash Foulds and Sam Simmons.

Reserves: Last game in the B grade we were back on our home turf on another excellent day for footy We went into the game undermanned with some key players missing through injury and unavailability. We were fortunate that we had 5 senior colts willing to back up and play a second game, thanks heaps for these lads who were Kaden Bell, Ash Foulds, Ryan Long, Jackson Grant and in for his first senior game Eli Bowman, well done boys. Our best players were Marky Bell, Aaron Trowbridge, Jake Bromley, Eli Bowman and Ryan Long.

A Grade: Glencoe at home aer a hard month the boys were ready for a good opportunity to get a win. Against the wind we had a great start taking our opportunies and adjusng to the condions quickly. A slight lead at half me we knew we really had to put in as the 2nd half hasn't been our strongest this year. But to the boys credit we controlled most of the play all day but couldn't quite get the reward on the scoreboard. Great team effort boys it's been a tough year with injuries but a great reward for effort. Best players Troy Ha, Ethan Bowman, Brandon Pis, Jack Cytrowski, Shaughn King, Jordan Ha.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Mini magpies had a great challenge. But they all pulled through amazingly. Their ming and passing opons have improved out of sight. Very impressed with their footwork, and defensive skills all the way down the court was, again, brilliant. Each player had great passages of play throughput the game and the flow was at mes, way beyond their years. It's always hard to give awards when every girl played so well, but Harper came out in front, made great effort to get around, and started feeding into goalies from WA, which was very impressive. So she got the first award, the lollies pop award. And then Grace had another great game, with huge improvements every week and a lot beer aacking skills which we have been working on, so she got the second award. OK Pie Shop. Keep up the impressive growth team. You should all be very proud.

Junior 1: What a day for our mini magpies. Our Junior 1’s came out strong and showed their best performance on the court. All girls played their posions very well and created strong leads and opened space for other players. All girls created such beauful leads and passes, it was great to see our hard work at training pay off. Well done girls you should be proud of how you all played. Best players: Ariella (Lollipops) and Adele (OK Pie Shop).

13 & Under: Wow what a game our girls played the best game of netball and showed everyone what they have been building through training and games for a win from coming behind. A fantasc whole team performance, everyone dug deep and got the job done. Milla confidence in herself and understanding the depth she has in GK is growing stronger, she received Lollipops award. Jorja held herself and was strong in the goal circle with strong shots and rebounds received OK Pie Shop award. Ashley ran and ran her heart out in a total different posion in GD and gave 110 percent receive the Mars Bar award. Since everyone did an amazing job I’m sure there be a special team award coming out to training. Believe anything is possible with hard work and magic will happen. Bring on the rest of the season girls.

15 & Under: A whole team performance where every single player worked hard to win their posions. Ava fed our goalies beaufully and Lucy (Intersport) shot 34 goals at 100% in the first half. She was well supported by both Kiersten and Emmity (OK Pie Shop). Lexie drove hard to the circle and made great passing decisions for the match. Zoe connues to take on feedback to get the intercept and always encourages her teammates with lots of talk and posivity. Molly had another great game in defence, geng her hands to lots of balls. Ella was solid at WD and did everything that was asked of her. Well done to

all 8 players! Let’s keep up the good work.

17 & Under: Was always going to be a tough one for us being 2 players down before we started and then losing another to injury. Lucky we have incredible juniors capable of stepping up! Ava, Kiersten and Lucy great job! Thank you Molly and Zoe for sing bench and supporng! We def had control for a lot of the game and we adjusted to a different style of play. Some great take aways for us to work on at training. I could not queson our desire to win and our work ethic. Hold your heads high and let’s bounce back! Georgia GenleIntersport, Lucy Egan - OK Pie Shop.

B Reserve: A strong four quarter performance from all players on court. Our paence allowed us to have more control in all thirds, especially in aack with feeding our goalies. The defensive pressure created many opportunies for turnovers and we were always first opon for any loose balls. The confidence we have in our teammates really showed and we are proud of how each player performed. Best players: Ange - The Art, Nicole - Intersport.

B Grade: We started the game with great paence and consistency to have a small lead against a strong Hatherleigh team. Lucy and Emily worked relessly all game to monopolize on any touches they got in down their defensive end. We had a great patch of netball in the third quarter but unfortunately lost our momentum. Both Gina and Rhi were consistent all game with lots of defensive pressure applied to them. Ellie was a grateful addion this week and sloed into a senior team seamlessly at last minute to help out. Enjoy a much deserved week off girls. Best players: Rhi May (Fasta Pasta) and Emily Mulraney (RSL).

A Reserve: A great team effort. It’s good to see the things we have been working on start to come into our game. Our defensive unit of Sam, Georgia and Re were solid all day giving us plenty of opportunies. Anthea and Sophie worked paently in aack and worked well with Shayden and Mel. Well done to Lucy for coming on and playing with maturity and paence. Let’s keep on building. Best players: Re (Gambier City), Sam (The Ary).

A Grade: Another great team game. Eb was a fantasc target in aack and converng accurately while Jane and Jayde “threaded the needle” with their precision feeding into the circle. Our defensive pressure all the way up the court allowed us to create turnovers. The intensity that Georgia, Shanae and Lara worked at for a full four quarters was impressive and something that can set us apart for the rest if we can connue to build on that. Thank you to our A Res girls for sing bench and for filling in for us over the past few weeks, we are very appreciave!

NETball club notes robe

A Grade: Robe 77 def Kong 45. Robe's A Grade made an impressive start with strategic court paence and intensive 1:1 pressure, forcing errors from Kongorong. Emillie Gould (coaches award – Oosons Real Estate) and Alannah Jennings demonstrated great communicaon, parcularly in the goal circle. The team maintained a high conversion rate, thanks to the accurate shoong of Sarah Laurie (Calcua – Kut Loose Hair Design) and Demi Carter With strong drives through the midcourt, ensuring few mistakes over the course of the game were made, finishing with a 32-goal lead.

A Reserve: Robe 45 def by Kong 47. The

A Reserves had a very close game against Kongorong. The girls started with intensity and pressure keeping the score within a close margin for the first half. Unfortunately Kongorong crept above in the third quarter, Robe tried to fight back in the last quarter, but ran out of me losing by 2 goals. Skimmer played a ripper game in the middle, geng some crical turnovers and feeding accurately into the circlescoring Calcua (The Eighth Leer). Libby shot with accuracy and played with a strong body in goals geng the incenve (Oosons Real Estate). Well done to all players, it was a solid effort!

B Grade: Robe 48 def Kong 32. Solid team game by all. Learning from previous weeks and having to adjust our game to condions outside of our control, we took that into our stride and rose above taking ownership of our game. Defence working relessly all game and keeping their heads. Aackers & goalies reading each other & having paence. Phoebe (Calcua –The Eighth Leer) had a stellar game in C, geng mulple turnovers and creang open drives. Emma (incenve –Oosons Real Estate) took control of the ring and made a solid effort to come forward and keep composure.

B Reserve: Robe 25 def by Kong 39. Unfortunately, a slow start meant we spent the game chasing our tails. Defence worked relessly all game, gaining mulple turnovers which the goalies tried to turn into goals to lessen the lead Kongorong had. Jess our GS was out again, hopefully going forward she is back and that will definitely help.

Calcua to Annabelle (The Eighth Leer) the gun and coaches to Sophie (Oosons Real Estate) who backed up well on the ring and read the plays well.

17 & Under: Robe 81 def Kong 8. The girls had a phenomenal game, starng off super strong from the get go! Everyone had a role to play and took on construcve feedback, making adjustments to their individual games as needed. As a team they all backed each other and it's great to see how much they support each other on the court. If anything it showed us we need to play our own game and really commit to playing with intensity. Best player went to Georgie (Steve's Place) who shot accurately and moved the ball so well. With Coaches award going to our other goalie Kiana (Salubrious Hour) who created so much space and also shot very accurately! It was a joy to coach the girls.

15 & Under: Robe 57 def Kong 31. Aer going down by 3 in the first half of the season the girls knew they were going to have a tough game on their hands and would have to dig deep if they

wanted the win. The girls came out from the first whistle with determinaon and composure. The defence through our mid court in the first quarter meant the girls got some early turnovers which goalies Millie and Tess scored on geng us a nice lead early on. Tess playing her first full game in goals, and absolutely killed it. The girls defensive pressure down the whole court proved why geng those hands over the ball actually works. Best player was awarded to Leni (Steve's Place) for her once again reless effort in defence, really pracsing grabbing those rebounds with two hands. Coaches award was parcularly hard as it could have gone to everyone on court, however it was given to Kaitley (Salubrious Hour) for a ripper game in C. Coming off at half me with a sore knee and by the 4th was limping a lile but ran out unl the final whistle. Well done girls, such a good win to boost the confidence to finish off the rest of the season strong.

13 & Under: Robe 15 def by Kong 26. Bad luck girls but well done for going out there and giving it your all! We were definitely up against it with only 5 of our actual team members being able to play – meant we were very last minute back filling with top aged J1's, Aurla and Scarlet. We are all looking forward to a few weeks off, to recharge and come out strong against K'doo. Best player went to Freya (Union Café). Freya's consistent work rate and strong passing in the goal ring and down court is on point. She is a real team player, helping to direct play and giving advice and guidance to her younger peers. Coaches award went to Livia (Salubrious Hour), who played out of posion to help fill gaps down court and worked relessly against a defender much, much taller than herself and never giving up.

Junior 1: Not a good day for the lile ones. A few emoons and redness from end of term I don't think helped, we sll tried really hard and played the best we could. A few balls to the face and balls to fingers, sickness and we were just not in a good spot. A week off is certainly great ming, let their brains rest and be ready for more netball in a weeks me. Scarlet got the incenve (Robe Netball Club) for her determinaon, even when struck down, was not coming off that court unl I made her, and sll got back out there!

Junior 2: What a game! It took us the first quarter to find our groove, but then the girls stepped up and played beaufully. Jess, Charloe Tilda and Amelie defended well in the first half and Halle and Ava worked really well together in goals. The second half we switched posions around and Paisley and Malda had a great half moving the ball together in the goals… a great lile duo. Amelie filled in for us and was a wonderful asset to the team and worked hard through the middle of the court. The girls defended well all game and it was great to see them leading in front of their players and making space. Paisley received our incenve (Robe Netball Club). Once she thawed out, she stepped up and played a great second half in goals, with some excellent passing. It was a really enjoyable game to watch and there were many proud family members on the sidelines cheering, well done girls.

NETball club notes nangwarry

Junior 2: Great game against Mt Burr, the whole team played really well. It was good to see everyone trying what we pracced in the warm up. The defence did a great job turning and blocking for rebounds and everyone moved the ball down the court nicely. We just need to remember to keep moving in front and use your voices all the way down the court. Best players: Dohnts - Kenzie, McDonalds - Loe, $5 - Lexi.

Junior 1: A tough game last round as we played Mt Burr. We are improving every game. The game started with it being very quiet on the court. Towards the end we found our voice on the court and played much beer. There were a lot of intercepts made in the defence which was amazing to watch against such tall girls. Bringing the ball into mid court is were we struggled a bit, we need to be working on running ballside of our players and passing when we are in front of our players, but we sll managed to score a couple of goals with some great play in the goal circle. Best players Mia Moy & Leah Norman.

15 & Under: A strong game right from the first whistle. These young girls come out firing in the first quarter moving well down the court and scoring well. Some changes made in the 2nd quarter saw a strong defensive unit geng some awesome turnovers, but unfortunately we just couldn't convert. Great game with no one dropping their heads. Mt Burr played an amazing game and congratulaons to them on their win.

B Reserve: What a game to watch. Nangwarry players came out with a posive atude and supported each

other beaufully. Some great game play all over the court. A game as a coach I am so proud of to see such improvement in our team, even if we didn't come away with the win, we came away with our closest scoreline yet. Mt Burr played a good game and congratulaons to them on their win.

A Reserve: The first quarter was exceponally close and even, demonstrang the compeve spirit and determinaon of both teams. Every point was hardfought, and neither side was willing to give an inch. However unfortunately we couldn't keep up the intensity. Despite the challenges, our team never gave up. We maintained our focus and determinaon throughout the enre match, showcasing our resilience and teamwork. A special congratulaons to our three juniors, Skye, Madison, and Keira, who stepped up to play senior netball. They held their own remarkably well, contribung significantly to the team's performance and proving they belong on the senior squad. Their efforts were commendable and did not go unnoced.

A Grade: Well, wasn't that an interesng game, girls! Despite facing a strong Mt Burr team, especially their defence, you never gave up, and your spirits remained high, which makes me incredibly proud. We had a few changes, with Kayla stepping into GS and Shez taking on the GK role. I want to extend a special thank you to both of you for giving your all in such different posions. Let's stay united and ignore the outside noise about how we should play Let's connue being true to ourselves as a team! Best players Kayla Gray and Sheridan Sakkers.

NETball club notes

Junior 1: A good effort from the girls. Our defenders were solid, geng hands to lots of loose balls and strong rebounding. Mid court worked hard on ulising space down the court and we improved on this throughout the game, we just need to remember how much easier it is when we come in front. Goalies worked well together and shot with accuracy. Great game girls but sll plenty to work on!

Junior 2: We welcomed Eliza and Cydi for their netball debut. The girls had a great team game. Playing one on one defence creang many intercepts. Good movement and dodging for passes helped the ball flow down the court. The goalies were accurate aer working well together to get closer to post. All in all a very good game for the girls.

13 & Under: Few disappointed girls leaving the court but in all fairness you should hold your heads high. It was a tough fought out game with illness sll about and 4 girls having already played a full game prior. Big thank you to Tilly, Leila and Charloe for helping us out with girls away. There were plenty of posives on the court which showed great grit and determinaon. Chloe creang many turnovers earning her the Ducky’s award and Livvi put in to play some great front cuts earning her the HLC award. Rest up during the holidays girls and let's make sure we all commit 100% to both trainings and games for the rest of the season.

15 & Under: A hard day at the office for the girls coming up against a polished Magpie ouit. To the girls credit they fought it out for the full 60 minutes. We did have some nice passages of play where we hit our targets and led well. We need to come at the ball and not rely on back space all the me especially against the beer teams. Keep working hard at training, and don’t be afraid to try new things. Denton’s Sportspower award Sylvie, HLC Laura.

17 & Under: Great game girls, you’ve worked hard and taken a lot on board in the past few weeks turning a 20 goal first round loss into a 2 goal win. We may have trailed for most of the game but stayed close enough to believe we could win. Our defensive pressure was outstanding with every player doing their bit. Kalli and Chloe stood up in the goal circle against some strong D and both shot with accuracy, these girls capitalised on the hard work done at the other end of the court and through the middle. A team effort from all 8 girls. Denton’s award Kalli, HLC Amber

B Reserve: We knew it would be a hard game, throughout the whole court we were more consistent with geng it down the court with only few silly errors that cost us a few turnovers and we went down by 8 in the final quarter. Our aack line with Grace and Melita working hard and moving around the circle more. Keely played a solid game in WA along with Nic at C. Maddie started on at WD and got her hands to many balls, then Demi into WD for second half. Our defence with Ellen, Ella and Fiona worked hard all game geng those

turnovers. Enjoy our week off ready to go again. Thank you to Sara for scoring, Kelly for ming, Linda for primary career. Our awards went to Keely Jones - Somerset, Nicole Thomas - Ampol, Maddie - Hath Sport and Rec.

B Grade: In a fiercely contested home game we faced off against Kalangadoo amidst challenging circumstances. Cocoach Kaz unable to take the court due to illness. Marnie and Maddie combined well in defence intercepng loose passes effecvely. Sarah, at WD, exhibited strong defensive skills, disrupng her opposion's offensive plays. In the midcourt, Ali's relentless running at C, supported by Elle's strategic feeds, kept the aacking momentum alive. Liv and Eliza, demonstrated excellent movement and strong posioning under the ring. Liv using her voice brilliantly throughout the game to spur on her teammates. The match saw some taccal adjustments, as well as a heartbreaking injury to Maddie, which saw Sarah shi to GD and Georgia to WD. Despite these changes, we rallied impressively in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to just three goals going into the final quarter. However, despite our valiant efforts, at one point reducing the deficit to just one goal, we ulmately fell short of securing the victory. The match was marked by intense physicality, occasionally crossing into unsportsmanlike conduct with reported instances of inappropriate language, which marred the spirit of the country game of netball. Throughout the match, the team drew strength from the unwavering support of their bench (including Nic Thomas) and loyal supporters from the B Reserve team, whose presence and assistance were invaluable. Special recognion goes to Raels for her reliable scoring and Linda for ming. We wish Maddie a speedy recovery from her injury, hoping it is not too serious, and to co-coach Kaz for a swi return to health. Awards: Liv - Ampol Award, Elle - Somerset Award, SarahHath Sport and Rec Award.

A Reserve: We knew we were up for a tough game against Kalangadoo especially with players out and having to adjust to new posions, and players. We did very well to keep the game close most of the game, however, we let it go in the last quarter. We had great passages of play, great defensive pressure by Maddie Redman and our newly appointed GD, Lucy Corman who did a great job at slong into this posion. Overall, the girls did well in the circumstances. Best players Lucy Corman and Abby Wight.

A Grade: We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game as Kalangadoo always come prepared and ready to go. The girls started off strong in the first quarter but couldn’t keep up with the top team. Elly held her own within the circle holding strong and pulling the ball in every chance she had, Bree moved well and shot with accuracy Best players: Bree Harris - K&S Fuels, Elle Redden - HSR drinks voucher, Erin Watson - Somerset.

NETball club notes port macdonnell

Junior 2: Our Junior 2's took to the court and delivered an impressive display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The girls showcased their growing talents and enthusiasm for the game, making for a thrilling and well-played match. From the first whistle, the girls demonstrated excellent coordinaon and strategic play As the game progressed, it was clear that both teams had a deep understanding of the fundamentals of netball. The players communicated effecvely, supported each other, and displayed some wonderful plays, fantasc goals & excellent defensive pressure up & down the court. Our girls should be immensely proud of their performance. The match was a fantasc showcase of netball, highlighng the players' development and love for the sport. Coaches, parents, and spectators all le the court with a sense of excitement for the future, knowing that the next generaon of netball stars is on the rise. Our encouragement awards were donated by Donut King & Fasta Pasta and were awarded to Pippa Lewis & Ellie Day

Junior 1: This was your best game so far! The amount each team member has improved this season amazes me. Your defensive pressure was fantasc and you are moving the ball well in aack. Emilee J (Fasta Pasta) it was great to see you on your toes defending in front of your player. Brianna (Donut King) was finding space, calling for the ball and moving the play down court. Well done girls!

13 & Under: Nangwarry 27 defeated Port MacDonnell 19. The girls started strong keeping within a good distance, they played hard and got some great intercepts in the defence! With some silly mistakes the girls finished 3rd quarter even, although during the last Nangwarry got away with the win. Very proud of the girls for all giving it a go and fighng hard for the first 3 quarters! Well done. Awards: Lucy Neale - Fasta Pasta, Evie Jones - Boost.

15 & Under: Nangwarry 9 defeated by Port MacDonnell 70. Another great game. Once again, our defensive pressure was outstanding, driving towards the ball and re offering was great. We had a bit of a mix up for some fun and everyone adjusted really well to the changes. Enjoy the next 2 weeks off Awards: Addison Smith - Lima & Co, Lilli Pengill - Maccas.

17 & Under: Nangwarry 38 defeated by Port MacDonnell 60. A tense game saw our girls playing some incredibly highlevel netball and they hit the ground running against Nangwarry. A different combinaon in goals saw Bree Ridding enter the aacking circle, working well with Lilly Day to create space and scoring opportunity. Bree ran through C in the second half, where her improved control in aack, without sacrificing her determinaon and drive earned her our best player for the day. Lilly Day was awarded the team's second best for making consistent efforts to come forward in the circle, bringing a new goalie into the game and for taking the challenge of playing GK in the last quarter. Our girls came away with the win despite a gallant effort by the Nangwarry girls, we will face off against the tough Mt Burr side aer our two weeks off so stay tuned for that result!

Awards: Bree Ridding - Bay Pizzaria, Lilly Day - Arena Sports.

was clear that this was not going to be a typical game, being our first wet game of the season and with players who normally excel in their usual posions found themselves in unfamiliar roles, tesng their versality and adaptability The centre court saw our team 'gazelle' Ainsley stepping out of the goal ring and running centre for the first quarter, this innovave strategy brought a new level of excitement and unpredictability to the match. Our defensive wing, Jenni, took on a wing aack role, while our WA Deanne wore the GA bib with pride and showcased her prowess in the circle. The game kicked off with our girls taking an early lead, our shooters adapng quickly to the slippery court and challenging condions. Nangwarry, however, was not to be outdone. Their defensive players exhibited excellent footwork and coordinaon, making several intercepons and turning the game into a well contested bale. In the second half, the pace of the game intensified. With wing aack and centre working seamlessly together, execung swi passes and sharp movements. However, the true highlight was the spirited display of skill and adaptability from both sides. The mix-up of posions brought a fresh energy to the game, showcasing the players' versality and love for the sport. Even though the final score didn't reflect the dynamic nature of the game, with Port Mac edging out a victory 73-21, both teams should hold their heads high for a fantasc game of true sportsmanship. Best players were awarded to Salem Moody & Bridie McPherson, thank you to Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro & Fasta Pasta for donang these awards. Also, a huge thank you to our team sponsors Onix Form & Construcon & Illuminate Dance Co.

B Grade: Nangwarry 20 defeated by Port MacDonnell 52. We got there in the end! I don't think we like playing in the rain, which was our first wet game. A couple of weeks off and back into some hard teams. Best players: Ashlee Schwereger - The Bay Pizzeria, Jess Byrne - Salt Café.

A Reserve: Nangwarry 23 defeated by Port MacDonnell 71. We had a great first quarter and came out taking lots of intercepts and rewarding the hard work down in defence. Brooke had a great game working relessly in the goal circle and creang lots of movement down in aack. Shannon got her hands on lots of loose balls and took some incredible intercepts and applied the pressure to create turnovers. Hope everyone enjoys the 2 week break and comes back ready to get firing in the second half of the season. Best: Brooke Williams - Chemist King, Shannon Scheidl - Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro.

A Grade: Nangwarry 2 defeated by Port MacDonnell 73. Great solid game girls. We went out with a goal to play four consistent quarters and improved on last me we come up against Nangwarry and we definitely did that. We had some awesome passages of play and really listened to what we learnt at training and it showed. Our defensive pressure all over court was awesome and we all weren't scared to have a crack at any ball for an intercept or chase up any loose balls. Best: Megan Hein - sponsored by Shan Scheidl (Voucher - Victoria Hotel), Alana Berkefeld - sponsored by J O Berkefeld (Voucher - Victoria Hotel).

17 & Under: Much beer start to the game with greater intensity. Thanks Stella for being available for your first run in 17s. Great defensive pressure and transion into goals at mes. Junior 1: We are now in the second half of the season and the beauful J1 team are sll improving, fantasc game girls. Once again, the defenders did an amazing job of defending Robe’s shooters and feeding the ball down to the mid-court, with the mid-court feeding the ball down to the shooters where they make it look easy to get goals. Super proud, good job. Best players went to Parker Abela (Maccas voucher) and Ashleigh Elletson (club voucher).

13 & Under: Fantasc effort girls! We have been building over the last few weeks at training and came out with the win which is such a great reward for effort. The aack line looked down the court and fed the circle well and once again defensive pressure across the court was a highlight with turnovers taking place everywhere. We sll need to work on doing the simple things right and score from our hard work but I am so proud of everyone and that we were able to run out the game the way we did. Best on went to Zoe Awill (Fasta Pasta) for an unreal game in GK causing some fantasc turnovers in our back line and Claire Lucas (club award) for stepping up to the role of GA and shoong accurately all day. Let’s train hard and enjoy the week off and keep the momentum going!

15 & Under: Hard luck girls. It just wasn't our day. A lot of you came back from being unwell but you sll gave it 100%. Took us a while to sele in but Robe just proved to be too strong for us. But you should all be so proud of yourself for not dropping your heads. Best players went to Paige Telford, Holly Awill and Addi Graney. Let’s get back into our rhythm at training and have a fresh start.

17 & Under: Was another tough game for our girls, however they never gave up... not once! They all played amazing and they should be very proud. They all listened and adjusted to play when asked. We made some changes to mid court in the 2nd quarter and they seemed to pick up well aer that. Best players were Hayley for her consistent work ethic on the court and adjusng to play in her new posion. Sophie for her constant support and encouragement to the team on court.

B Reserve: As always, Robe is such a beauful team to play. Our game flowed really well for the first half, got a lile shaky in 3rd qtr but came back strong in the last qtr We have worked really hard on our midcourt and shooters coming

out and you can see that worked. Standout players again were Renae and Amie in defence. We will connue to work on our feeding into the circle and midcourt. Best players were awarded to everyone.

B Grade: Great effort girls. We played with strong bodies and passes and movement throughout the court has improved providing beer opons. It was a physical game, everyone held their ground and adjusted when needed. Great waing and passing into the goal circle by Miranda and Milla who both received best players. Courtney provided plenty of pressure in defence gaining the team a lot of opportunies to put more goals onto the scoreboard, also being awarded best player Miranda Skinner (The Park Hotel), Milla Buckingham (Elite Supps) and Courtney Hardacre (Chemist King).

A Reserve: Another great game for season. We had a great head start with applied pressure down the court resulng in a good lead in the score. Robe climbed back during the game but we managed to keep on top of them and walked away with the win. Everyone applied all the skills we have been building on in training over the weeks, and it showed. Wonderful feeding in aack from Samantha Ham & Caitlyn Shanks, their paence and possession style of game allowed our shooters to reset for the opmised shot. Best players went to Georgia Bald for her strong game of shoong in the circle receiving The Commercial Hotel voucher. Best player also went to Sarah Lucas for her defensive pressure in the circle with many hands to the ball, receiving a Chemist King voucher. Great game Hawks!

A Grade: Well done girls! We came out and did what we set out to do which was play consistent netball. I am proud of everyone's ability to keep their heads up and run out the full four quarters with some really clean, high-quality passages of play. As always, there are some skill errors that we need to clean up but what an improvement on the last few weeks. The defensive pressure across the court was as always a highlight of the game, led by Emily Lightbody (The Commercial Hotel) earning her best on along with Jas McKinnon (Chemist King) who ran out a great defensive game through the middle. Let's enjoy the break and keep this momentum going into the second half of the season!

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Our last game was a brilliant demonstraon of your progress throughout this season! Coming up against Glencoe in the first round, we were all a lile inmidated by their height, but this me, we really held our own and dominated! Our drives were strong, our passing was accurate and our defenders worked hard to stop the opposion from scoring! I was lost for words at the end of the game and can't praise you all enough! Great game girls! Best players went to Bella Reilly (Tantanoola Canteen voucher) & Sophie Dunford.

Junior 1: Brilliant effort by all 8 girls. Our passing is becoming more direct & stronger & we are leading in front & being steady down the court. No stepping from anyone so brilliant job. We had some excellent passages of play & great shoong from all who played a shooter posion. Awards went to Daisy (Wendy's) for her great driving down the court & hands up creang that pressure. The other award went to Izzy (Wendys) for also great driving down court, but also coming front & steady direct passing. Another great game from everyone.

13 & Under: Another nice day up against Glencoe & it was again a great game to watch. Our goalies Liv & Kailee seled early & moved well. Glencoe's ght defence pounced on any errors we made but our defence was also pung great pressure on players & we managed to get the ball back to keep us in the game. At half me we were down by 1 goal. A few posional changes at half me were made but unfortunately we took a while to sele & could not hold on for the next 2 quarters leng them run away with a win. Crowding made it hard to find the right passage of play into aack & we were pushed to the sideline a lot but overall an improvement from round 1. Our defenders had a tough task but did not give up all game earning themselves an award. Zahli - Wendy's award, Emie - The Property Co, Jaycie - Fasta Pasta.

15 & Under: We entered this game one player short for the second week in a row and with knowledge Glencoe defeated us in the first round by a margin of 17 goals - what a challenge! Aer a good start we had a disastrous second quarter, leaving us 14 goals in arrears. The girls showed real determinaon and fighng spirit to outscore their opponents in the second half, finally losing the game by 8 goals - a great effort! Alice led the way (shoong 35 of our goals) and was well supported by Tamika and Peyton with strong leads and good passes. Lexi and Astyn showed their versality in covering different posions, Rachael took many intercepons in defence and Summah connued her improvement with plenty of defensive pressure. So good was their team game all received an award from The Property Co SA, Dentons Sportspower and Devine

17 & Under: Such a great game from all our girls! Was great having a full side and watching the girls gel together as a team. Both Bethan and Hailey shot accurately and worked well together (KFC award). Isla (Property Co) and Molly had a great game together, turning lots of balls over and geng hands to any missed shots. Kaitlyn connued the defensive pressure down court at WD (Property Co). Demi, Kailah and Poppy drove and fed beaufully into the goalies all game. All eight girls had an amazing game and it was so great to have a win. Well done.

B Reserve: Like a broken record; I repeat, with the number of changes having to be made in each quarter to accommodate all our players it will take me to adjust to posions and teammates. We again had some excellent passages of play interspersed with some rather not so good - keep working, we'll get there! Awards: Kath (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Layla (Sassi) - was only a half game Layla but what a half!

B Grade: Our last game was the first me I've had my full team back in and for a while. Because we knew would be a lile bit rusty and we knew that we were gonna take at least a quarter to gel which showed because we were actually down in our first quarter changes geng our groove back and making sure we stay posive we came back with a win and we definitely looked a lot more united and played a lot beer by the end.

A Reserve: The Tigers played the Murphies at their home ground. The first quarter saw the Tigers not ready for the game and not trusng themselves to deliver in what has been working in our games. Defensive end gave it their all against some very accurate shoong. The Tigers found themselves a lile more seled for the next few quarters. Making some great space and capitalising on them. Eva, Kristy and Alana had a brilliant game running the centre keeping fresh legs available. Goalies for the Tigers was a new combinaon. Once they seled they were available everywhere. Congratulaons to Krystal on her 100th senior game. Best: Sophie Bellman - Lima & Co, Krystal ReddenSomerset Hotel.

A Grade: Not how we wanted to come back aer a week off Disappoinng to see us not perform at the level we would have liked. Credit to Glencoe who pressured us for the four quarters and capitalised on their opportunies. Solid defence work from Kate Bromley (Somerset) supported well by Keryl Ousey (Limo & Co) who rebounded strongly for 4 quarters. Lots to work on and I look forward to us coming out stronger and consistent in the coming weeks. Thanks once again to all our support group, that help us out week aer week.

round 12 A GRADE MATCH REviews

Mt Burr 83 def. Nangwarry 12

The game started with Madi Hagge (GA) scoring the first goal in her 50th senior game for Mt Burr. Megan Thiele (GD) and Olivia Dean (GK) worked intensely geng hands over balls and rebounding, allowing Mt Burr to score from turnovers through accurate shoong from Hagge. Sheridan Sakkers (GA) created opportunies for Nangwarry in the goal circle, however, Mt Burr had a 16 goal lead at the quarter break.

Mt Burr made some passing errors allowing Nangwarry to gain possession through Kayla Gray (GK), however, centre court pressure from Mt Burr limited their ability to score. Hagge and Danika Shepherd (GS) connued to combine well in the goal circle with accurate feeding from Ella Easterby (WA) and Laura Schultz (C). Gemma Glynn (GD) drove strongly out of defence but defensive pressure from Mt Burr limited the transion into the goal circle for Nangwarry. Gray connued to rebound well, creang greater scoring opportunies for Nangwarry with Lacey Neale converng their only goal for the quarter. Nangwarry’s Maddi Stephens worked hard for her side through the centre. At half me Mt Burr had extended their lead to 29 goals.

Gray moved to GS for Nangwarry and was excited to score their first goal. Hagge connued to be the focal point in the Mt Burr goal circle, rebounding and converng well alongside Shepherd. Mt Burr's Schultz worked hard driving to the circle edge, also causing turnovers in the mid court. Thiele and Dean worked well defensively with youngster Abbey Falng at WD, making it difficult for Nangwarry to move the ball into the aack line. Nangwarry doubled their score in the third quarter despite Mt Burr extending their lead with the score 60 to 6.

Young gun for Mt Burr, Macy Burns took to the court at WD Nangwarry made changes to try and stem the flow of Mt Burr's scoring rate. Shepherd and Hagge connued to combine well, creang space for Schultz and Easterby to feed goalies, with shots close to the ring. The changes for Nangwarry allowed them to get to circle edge, but Thiele and Dean connued to cause turnovers, liming scoring opportunies. Easterby’s speed to circle edge allowed for smooth transion into the goalies. Nangwarry connued to work hard with Sakkers at GK, geng some hands to balls. Mt Burr ran away convincing winners, with the final score being Mt Burr 83 to Nangwarry 12.

Hatherleigh 33 lost to Kalangadoo 74

Hatherleigh hosted the Magpies in warm sunny condions. The home side won the first centre pass, but the visitors were quick to turn it over and score. The game was played at a very fast pace which saw Kalangadoo transion down court and score extremely quickly which seen the Pies take an 8 goal lead going into the first break.

Second quarter saw no changes for either side, but seen Kalangadoo push on further and extend their lead. Whilst Hatherleigh applied good defensive pressure the combinaon of Ebony Mc Diarmond and Abbey Duncan seemed to be unstoppable. Hatherleigh were able to get their hands to a few turnovers and were able to convert.

Kalangadoo’s Jane Auld provided her team with speed and plenty of drive onto the circle’s edge which allowed her easy access to feed Duncan and McDiarmond. 20-40 going into the main break.

The home side used this opportunity to make many changes, which saw almost all players moved on court, whist Kalangadoo remained unchanged. These changes seemed to help the home side as Lara MacGregor matched up well on Duncan. The Pies applied heavy defensive pressure where they could extend their lead, they were fast to chase down anything and their defence worked overme. Hatherleigh had some great passages of play from end to end and were able to find Harris and Redden to convert, but it wasn’t easy with the height of Lara Munro as it made the home side be paent and when they were they were able to convert. Kalangadoo ramped up the pressure and took a 29-goal lead going into the final break.

Final quarter saw a switch for the Pies in the mid court, and youngster Niah Faulkner take the court. Kalangadoo stayed well in control and kept cking over the scoreboard. The home side baled but the visitors were far to strong walking away with the points and winners by 41.
