Junior Colts: Last week we went to Kongorong to play in what was a very wet and windy day. As the rain went away and the sun started coming out the kids were very excited and eager to get another win on the board. Working as a team and playing some smart footy we were able to kick 3 goals to finish the first half but Kongorong never gave up keeping us scoreless in the third. With some smart forward kicks to get closer to goal kicking distances we were able to put on 2 more goals which seen us geng another win. Best players were Summer Batchelor who connues to play well and run all day in the ruck, Jayden Hunter who we had playing off the backline but ran all day, Jack Rowe who played a new role on the wing and had a fantasc game, Charlie Bromley, Jedd Hardingham and Under 11 Kallan Shawyer who baled hard and did some really good things. It's very good to see the Under 11's play 2 games and dominate in our games as well as their own.

Senior Colts: We headed to Kongorong in what was going to be a wet and windy game, our boys knew a wet game would give us an advantage so the boys where keen to

get a win. Aer a slow start with Kongorong kicking 4 goals in the first to our no goals we knew we had to respond and that's what the boys did geng it within a couple goals at half me. In the second half the boys baled hard but wasn't good enough with both teams kicking 2 goals each in the second half and us going down by 2 goals. Best players where Braydn Hateley, Jackson Grant, Sam Simmons, Jayden Hunter, Jed Hardingham and Ash Foulds. Goal kickers were Brayden Rowe with 2 and Ash Foulds and Braydn Hateley with 1 each.

Reserves: Last week we travelled to Kongorong and once again in the B Grade we went into the game undermanned with some key players missing through injury and unavailability. We were fortunate that we had 6 senior colts willing to back up and play a second game and were very compeve for most of the game. Ma Nelson got back in to form with an excellent game playing centre, second best was Marky Bell, then Bundy and Bommer and fih best was Ryan Long who kicked 2 goals. Thanks again to the senior colts helping me out and playing 2 games, cheers.

A Grade: We went to Kongorong in our first wet and windy day of the year. We had a lot of changes due to injury so was going to be a good challenge for the young group. The first half we had most of the play being real dominate in the middle just were struggling to put it on the scoreboard and had a slight lead going into half me. The third quarter was our best quarter of the year everything worked the boys really put in, to get an excellent lead into the last and went on to really play some good football towards to end. Great to see from the young boys with 10 of our experienced players out with injury. Was good to watch, a real team effort and good job boys. Best players Cade Kelly, Zac Walker, Brandon Pis, Braydn Hateley, Ethan Bowman and Jordan Ha.

football club notes

It was looking like it was going to be some old fashioned wet weather footy on the cards as we welcomed the Roosters to Magpie Park in what was some important games for a few grades. A bit of rain early on that the wind ended up blowing away before turning out to be not a bad day for footy, except for the results.

Congratulaons to another of our young gun senior footballers & captain in Sammy McManus as we got to celebrate his 150th game. Sammy has been a pivotal part of our senior side and with 3 senior premierships under the belt has an impressive resume going already

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight, Boost Juice & Killara Food Court.

Under 11: Was prey wet and trying condions for the youngest footballers and the game was called off a lile earlier as the rain become a factor. The group sll cracked in and enjoyed having a run around in the mud as always. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King & Compton Street Bakers Delight & Killara Food Court and

were

around.

Junior Colts: Coming off a few good wins and week off for the country championships the Junior Colts were a lile rusty to start the game in what were some trying condions. Robe made the most of kicking with the wind in the 1st and while the young Maggies defended hard managed to hold the Roosters to 2.1 in the 1st. The second saw the Maggies having the wind at their backs and was a complete reverse of the 1st with the scores being ed up at half me and the game was up for grabs. The 3rd proved a real bale and the Roosters again kicked away to a 2 goal lead with the young Maggies defending hard and it was a real bale working the ball forward against the strong wind. Down by 2 at the last the opportunity was there in the last but one goal each in the last quarter meant went down by 12 points at the final siren. Best players went to Nathan Murdock – Spot On, Frank Mules – Bunnings, Nathaniel Cooper – OK Pie Shop, Lachy McCann –Bakers Delight, Jack Barry – Coaches Award & Harvey Gull – Killara Food Court Encouragement Award.

Senior Colts: Having 7 lads from Glencoe, couple from Robe and a few Junior Colts playing their second game for the day meant we got another game for the year Again the boys cracked in over the 4 quarters and keep baling hard much to their credit. Thanks again to Will &

Glencoe for the loan of the lads and was greatly appreciated and meant we had a game. We had some good passages of play throughout the day and in stages looked to play some good footy, but weight of numbers was always against us. Best players went to Nato – Roadhouse, Les Jagger – Country Atude, Bailey Dale – Aussie Disposal, Declan Mutch – OK Pie Shop, Izac Richards – OK Pie Shop & Axel Page – Killara Food Court Encouragement Award.

Reserves: Coming up against top of the ladder Roosters ouit and having a few key players out was noceable early and with Robe making the most of the wind in the 1st got the scoreboard cking over early and proved to be a bale from the remainder of the day. There were some good passages of play and managed a few goals but was a tough result in the end. Best players went to Dallas Jeffree, Alex Carter, Kye McKenna, Adam Blom, Leigh Redford & Jacob Simmonds.

Seniors: In what were probably the best condions of the day and with the oval holding up although a bit slippery and boggy in places we were set for what should have been a cracking game of footy. Robe made the most of the wind in the 1st although our defenders worked well in repelling F50 entries and around ground looked to be matched fairly even. Losing Jaggs from defence early meant a reshuffle of the backline and scoring a goal against the breeze saw the margin cut back to 15 points at the 1st break. The Maggies controlled play and dominated around the ground in the second, controlling the stoppages and holding the Roosters to only a couple of goals but couldn't get the reward in front of the big scks kicking 1.6 for the quarter and down by 18 points at the main break and down to one on the bench. The Roosters came out firing in the 3rd making the most of the condions and while we had plenty of the ball there were some costly skill errors and lapses where we allowed them to kick away to a 51-point lead at the final break. The last qtr was a relavely even affair with both sides having a fair share of the footy and plays but inaccurate kicking in front of goal meant the final margin blew out and flaered the Roosters and doesn't show how close the game actually was. With a big month of footy on the horizon Lynsey will be looking to get back on the winners list and finish the home & away season off strongly. Best players went to Gregsy, Sammy Mac, Tommy Williams, Tye Mac, Jut Bromley & Jack Casey

Images courtesy Steve Walters (Snapperific)

This weekend we head over the Bluff to take on the Tigers in a round that a few sides will be looking to get back on the winners list and build into the end of the season. Aer the game will be heading to one of our sponsors in the RSL for presentaons & teas.

GLENCOE MURPHIES

junior colts

Another perfect day for football as we headed over the Mile Hill to Tantanoola with compeve game across all grades. We also had a couple weeks off with some talented players playing for representave teams. Firstly young colt Hamish Gordon parcipated in the Adelaide Crows NGA (Next Generaon Academy) match against Port Adelaide which is a huge achievement, well done Hamish! Next two young aspiring colts Tighe Hurley and Kallan Price played three games for Glenelg's U15 country team with all reports the boys played well in each game. Last of all A Grade captain Dylan Childs travelled to Victor Harbor playing for the South East zone team, winning one of three games. We must also congratulate our superstar Zacc Cocks, born and bred Glencoe footballer playing his 200th A Grade game today, well done mate.

Under 11: As has been the catch phrase for a few weeks 'improving all the me'. These young Murphs are really gelling together and learning well. A credit to our junior coaches Bo, Brodie, Brodie and Dion. Great to see Tant with good numbers and both teams kicking some good

Junior Colts: Our Junior Colts team needing to win to keep their season alive started well with Hamish running the field from the first clearance and kicking one of his four goals for the day! From there we controlled the rest of the first term. In the second Tant threw a lot at us kicking a couple goals but we sll led narrowly at the end of the half. Knowing Tant were in the four for a reason we had to keep aacking the ball hard and giving it everything but unfortunately in footy there's a winner and a loser and we

unfortunately went down by one point which was a great improvement considering we lost to them by 97 points the first me we played. Best was captain Hamish who tried his guts out and booted four goals, young Max E with his aack on the ball, Harrison X is having a consistent year, Max J connues to improve and Sam M rounding out the best.

Senior Colts: A leaner squad took on an improved Tant. Regardless of player availability we were up and about early just not capitalising on the scoreboard. Tant played a good defensive game keeping us goal less in the first quarter. In the second term we took over and ran away with a 91-point win. With finals around the corner playing and training consistently is a must. Best was Tom, Les, Tighe, Pay, Max who laid one of the best tackles you will see and Brodie rounded out the best.

Reserves: Coming up against Tant we had a lot beer numbers finally with a few more to come back. We started fast and got the jump with Lachy geng a lot of the ball and playing a great game. We had a number of different goal kickers and ran away with a 96 point victory. Best were captain Bater who is having a stellar season, coach Ben, Lachy, Trent and Jacob also returning.

Seniors: A day where we did not represent ourselves or our club well enough. Tant outplayed us and retained the Neil Von Duve Shield for the 4th year running. Consistent contributors were Ben Weedon, playing great footy since coming into the Senior side, Patrick, Alex and Harry. The guys have freshened up aer a couple of weeks off and looking forward to Kongorong.

football club notes

Wet & windy condions at home last week as we took on Tantanoola. We held our Beyond Blue Round last week which was very successful. A massive thank you to all those that donated to Beyond Blue & SEAWL.

Under 11: Last Saturday reminded us what we all love about winter sports! Taking to the field in a nice heavy shower and high spirits the team were ready for the challenge. The wet condions didn’t deter nor slow the boys down, their ball handling skills were certainly impressive. It’s great to see some consistent passages of play starng to come together as they connue to improve on kicking and marking to move the ball down field quicker and smoother. Congratulaons to Brody on his first goal. Our best players were Brody Stephens (Intersport), Toby Telford (Presidents Award), Iziah Hunt (Coaches Award), Coby Brant (Club Award), Harry Nicholas (Brant Family), Mason Lile (Donut King). Overall a great team effort. Let’s go Hawks!

Junior Colts: It was a cold, wet & windy day at Kongorong last Saturday, but it was sll a great day for footy. Our kids played very well in the condions and made it very hard for Tantanoola to score. We just fell short with moving the ball forward. Our defence pressure was great, but we also need to work on our second efforts. Thank you to all the volunteers who help out every week. Awards went to Koby Galloway (Spot On Fishing), Ryder Telford (Lucas Family Award), Connor Gordon (Aussie Disposals), Angus Maidment (Janeway Plumbing Award), Lyla Bayley (Club Voucher) and Piper Hood (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: We began round 12 well, execung on our pre-game instrucon and adapng to the condions quickly to kick 4.2 in the first quarter. Heading into the first break we were pleased with our ground ball execuon, clearance and ball movement that enabled us to win the territory bale and score well. The second quarter saw us rest on our laurels and allow our opponents to win the clearance bale and get goal side far too oen. Our body work in the contest and as defenders was poor and this saw us give up scores far too easily. Half me offered us a much needed opportunity to reset and we approached the third quarter with a renewed focus and favourable wind condions. Our contest work and ball movement was beer but not at the level we had set in the first quarter and our efficiency in the forward 50 le a lile to be desired. We had built a buffer we thought we could defend but urged the players to try and build their lead in the last. Both teams were

displaying signs of fague and the ball bounced between the arcs with a lile less dash being displayed late in the game. While we were able to win the territory bale for most of the last quarter we again struggled to capitalise on our chances forward which will be a focus moving forward. Award went to Toby McKinnon (Mahew’s Petroleum), Luke Allen (MT Wheels), Jack Bald (DA’Leni Meats), Sam Ruwoldt (Mick Mullan Award), Kain Ashby (Badenochs Deli) and Logan Cordy (Coaches Award).

B Grade: With coach Plugger away, the ressies hit the oval aer some inspiraonal words from Simmo. With a strong wind blowing across the oval, the first quarter saw us having control of the ball but were unable to get any goals as reward. PP was everywhere, racking up possession and Cords was controlling the middle of the oval. The second quarter saw the play our way again with colt Drew Paerson taking a couple of strong grabs and Shak using his strength to help us kick away. Aer half me, the boys went away from the team style of play and allowed Tant to sling shot on the turnover to get a couple of goals. The last quarter saw a couple of posional changes and the boys returned to team play from the first half. The 4 senior colts all showed that they were up to senior footy with some hard running and clean skills. Despite some easy shots at goal being missed, we were able to run out winners by controlling the ball for the majority of the day. Best players were Cohen (Commercial Hotel) for his work in the ruck and posioning behind the ball, PP (BCF) was everywhere and got a severe case of leather poisoning, Shak (Collin’s Court Butcher) presented well all day, Cords (Club Voucher), Porno (Pick Ave Deli) and colt Drew (Club Voucher) showing that a run in the A’s could be just around the corner

A

Grade: The boys came out flat footed most of the day which was a bit disappoinng considering they were in with a chance for another win. There were good passages at mes throughout the game but our ability to control the centre was lacking, which lead to Tant being able to clear most of the centre bounces and for the most part score from it down back. Marty von Stanke and Sjaakie Duivenvoorde were 2 standouts and played relentlessly throughout the game. Hopefully the boys can flick the switch and play a good brand of footy against Glencoe this week. Best players went to Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Commercial Hotel), Marty von Stanke (Collin’s Court Butcher), Toby McKinnon (Club Voucher), Tyrone Rayner (Club Voucher), Darcy Hunt (Pick Ave Deli) and Elliot Modra (BCF).

ROBE ROOSTERS

Junior Colts: All things considered we had a great 12 point win. It did not come easy, as the Kalangadoo boys certainly provided strong opposion. The playing condions were challenging; a bit so under foot and a very strong wind, tested every player's skill level, as the score line shows. I was really pleased with the team's intensity, willingness to share the ball, adapt to the condions and support each other. To our young rooster's credit, they responded to the various challenges that came at them during the game, as well as the coaching staff's expectaons and instrucons given to them before and during the game. I was also really pleased with every player's commitment, persistence and hunger. Now for the young 'Sainters'. Our guys must have the same atude and approach, as last week. Anything less will not be good enough. The boys know that their desny is in their own hands.

B Grade: I knew it was too good to be true with the weather this year. We had our first wet, muddy and windy day. This meant it could have been anyone’s day. We decided to sck with our usual game plan though which worked. Jordan Hentscke executed it well all day and set the ball up from the half back. Old captain Huebner kicked 6. All 6 in the backline stood up all day to rebound giving us plenty of scoring opportunies. Zac Donnelly and Tom Williams used their voice to control the day Overall a great team effort in

the condions we had on the day. We wish Wil Langdon a speedy recovery with a few cracked ribs and a collapsed lung. 4 minor round games to go, come watch if you haven’t yet. The team is playing some excing footy. Go Roosters!

A Grade: Robe made their way to Kalangadoo on Saturday for a danger game against a team showing late season form. With a strong wind blowing to the le of screen Robe lost the toss and kicked into it for the first quarter. Robe came out hard and full of running into the wind. Joel Bryant kicked the first two of the game and at the first break Robe had a handy 3 goal lead. Kalangadoo came out in the second term and turned up the pressure all over the ground. They had majority of the play but couldn’t convert kicking 1.6 for the quarter. Browny at half me reset the boys back to Robe football and it showed. In the third with a 6 goal to 3 point quarter. In the fourth quarter Robe was able to kick away from Kalangadoo with good use of the footy and plenty of run and pressure. Goal scorers for Robe Jordan Pet gave Robe another opon with 3, Joel Bryant 3. Best player Jack Sneath was best on ground in a dominant display, George Duon off half back was dynamic and Tom Watchel on return from a few weeks out was back in form. This week we are hosng Nangwarry at home, see you there.

NANGWARRY SAINTS

Saturday night saw a small group of loyal players organise “Oktoberfest” (yes we know it is July!) and what a night it was! Thank you to everyone who got into the spirit and dressed up, to those who braced the cold and competed in the games outside. If you have not seen the videos head to our Facebook page for a laugh. Special shout out's to President Shane for his skills running backwards, Coach's WAG Chloe who landed on her backside in the sculling relay. We finished the night with a packed dance floor dancing to “DJ Whompers” who is our very own local Noza. Donny you were right...

Nights like these also need dedicated bar people and we would be lost without them. So a very big thanks to Benny and Jenny D who serve us all night and put up with our ancs.

Under 11: The kids faced a very strong Hatherleigh last week. With a few away and sick we had to borrow some players. Overall it was a great game with some good passages. The weather was a lile brisk but it's great to see our skills developing.

Junior Colts: Taking on the Eagles this week at home, we were 5 or 6 kids short unfortunately But thanks to Hatherleigh lending us a couple to even it up. We knew it was going to be tough, but the kids we had available have shown great resilience and a stellar work rate to give their all this week. We prey simply gave away too big of lead in the first half which made things difficult. Our second half was great started hing the scoreboard and started owning more of the footy. To sit on the sidelines and watch it definitely felt like a much closer game than the scoreboard depicted and was really pleasing as a coach to see a few of our younger players really step up and get involved.

Senior Colts: We played against a very determined Hatherleigh side last week in windy but near perfect playing condions at Nangwarry considering how much rain we had the night before. Aer a very ght first half of football we held a slender 14 point lead. Then we played our best team football for the year and kicked 7 goals in the third quarter to set up a 60 point win against a strong Hatherleigh team. It was a really fantasc effort for our guys to get back on the winners list again. Goal kickers for the day were Elwood Geary kicking 5 goals in the 2nd half, Calais Borman 2, Rhys Grigg 2, Bay McKinnon 2 and singles to Toby Grigg and Noah Virtanen. Awards were Toby Grigg and Wya Balshaw (BP Dohnts servo), Elwood Geary and Alex Lynch (Limestone Coast Pantry), Bay McKinnon (OK Pie Shop), Calais

Borman (Nangwarry canteen) and Taj Bell (Fasta Pasta). Also great games from Harry Hicks, Archer Virtanen and Jack Norman who was playing his first game with us. Congratulaons to one of our under 17's Benne Moy for making his A Grade debut. Also well done to Tayte Virtanen and Rhys Grigg for playing for Glenelg in the under 15 intrastate carnival throughout the week too. We now look forward to the road trip to Robe.

B Grade: Was a hard game for the lads, up against it again with injuries and people away but hopefully over the next 2 weeks we start geng players back. The lads all had a dip throughout the game and never gave up, the first quarter cost us and the last 10 minutes of the game, but we broke even with them for the rest. I was very happy with how our lads played though and showed a lot of heart. Thank you to all the under 17s who helped out again.

A Grade: We were greeted with blustery SW winds at the start of the game, however the earlier games indicated that scoring was possible at both ends of the ground. Our oval soaked up the Friday rain allowing us to play on a beauful deck in dry like condions. We prepared well during the week and it was nice to see the boys carry that through to the game. Hatherleigh are a side of quality and Hutchy has them funconing well so we knew that we had to bring our best. The first quarter was one of quality from both sides. Our boys were impressive and linked up some smooth transion movement allowing us to get 4 majors on the board as we went into the first break. For the remainder of the game our boys did not shy away from the contest and adjusted to the momentum changes well and did not allow Hatherleigh a custom goal frenzy. We connued to challenge the defensive aspect of Hatherleigh's game in each quarter and we were unlucky not to have more goals on the board by the end of the game. We connue to improve in many areas of the game and we are clearly working well as a team. We also had numerous winners on the day with the best players going to: Club Tea Award - Jack Pudney - Presented well all day and won numerous contests. His game reminded us why he is the reigning Best and Fairest of our football club; Prince Of Wales Hotel - Jake McKeon - So good to have the skipper back to playing his best. A game full of leadership qualies; Pines HotelBlake Neshoda - For the second week in a row played a gutsy game and presented for us all day; Spud Train - Joel Virtanen - Having such a consistent year, winning plenty of the ball and always finding a target; Fasta Pasta - Logan Gibbs - Thrives in tough condions and Saturday was no excepon. Nice to see him string a few games together aer an injury interrupted first half of the season; Muffin Break - Ty Dinnison - Worked hard all day against a quality opponent. Very rarely beaten in the air. Only young and connues to further develop his game each week. Goal kickers were Jack Pudney and Andy Hyland with 3 each, Jake Mckeon and Joel Virtanen with 1 each. Boy oh boy what a Moy. As a coach there is nothing more sasfying than seeing a young colt receive their senior jumper from family and run out to play their first game. We congratulate Benne Moy on his first game. Benne's family are very loyal club people and the home game was perfect ming for his debut. And boy, didn't he turn on a beauty for all to see. His confidence and tenacity rippled through the team. Well done Benne. This week we travel to Robe and again we look forward to the

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

B Grade: The old B Grade injury curse is sll hovering around at the nest, with the call up of a couple colts and Spence Jones to fill in we put a side on the park. Very thankful of the young fellas that are keen to play up in the seniors. We got off to a fast start with Tom Bell kicking 4 in the first quarter in his 150th game for the club. We ended up running out 101 point winners. Lachie Lang swapping posions from fullback to full forward to slot himself a snag roll in his 100th game. Tom Bell BOG with 7 goals. Jase Faulks had a great game. Tim Merre ended up with 6. James Gilbo kept his good form going. Bailey Lindner showed what he is capable of with ball in hand to round out the best!

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

football club notes

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 9.8 def Mt Burr 7.7. Finally, a winter game of footy! But sll not enough rain in the gauges to make the farmers smile. The wind, however, was another story enrely. Condions in the Bay were tough with the gusts taking the ball in a number of ways but to the boy's credit, they baled on with it. Mt Burr had the advantage in the 1st quarter with a 5-goal lead at the break going with the wind and then 2nd quarter saw the scales even out with our turn in front of the goals notching 3.4 to their 2 points. Again, the wind cost us a goal or two but we were back in the game and the last half promised to be interesng as skill and tenacity would be the difference between a win or a loss. It was quite a bale and I'm pleased to say we came up victors but unl the dying minutes of the game, it was almost a draw as we went head-to-head with scoring. BOG Tim Sullivan and 2nd best Will Macdonald provided the necessary anchor in the midfield and across both HB and HF lines. Ned Wilke and Jake Turner won 3rd and 4th respecvely with their outstanding efforts on winning the hard ball in both defence and aack. Jake Schleter and Colby Munro (5th & 6th) provided much of the run up the flanks and over the forward midfield creang goal opportunies. The wind kept the score down as both sides struggled with distance kicking. Our goalkickers were Alex Ridding, Chrisan Howle and Josh Woodall with 2 each, while Je Aard, Ned Wilke and Will Macdonald kicked one each. We now travel to the Eagles nest and aer the Mt Burr win, with a bit more confidence to take on a prime final's contender. The season is not over unl it's over… so come on Demons! Train hard to play hard. Go Demons!

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 5.15 def Mt Burr 3.4. If the Disney version of “Frozen” was 'Let It Go' then the Bay version was 'Let It

Blow!' At last! A winter's game of footy and while it was not wet is was certainly wild! The rain last week and overnight was very much appreciated and long overdue (at least tanks got water and the ground got a soaking) and the icy temp let everyone know that we are sll in an 'Eternal Winter' (and if it’s not an act of true love - of footy - playing in these condions, that gets us out of it... maybe it's a few more B Grade wins). BOG Simon 'Anna' Merre provided the central control point for the game with steady hands and precision kicking all over the midfield while Aaron 'Elsa' Harding lied the game with his ruck work and running style, causing havoc all over the ground. Isaac 'Sven' Narass and Tom 'Kristoff' Sullivan (3rd & 4th) braved the Brrrr aack with crucial stoppages and turnovers, slogging it out in icy and slippery condions (yes, we copped the rain in the Ressies game!) Brodie ‘Olaf’ Dixon (5th) and Connor Richards rounded out the BP list and turned up the heat (like “In Summer”) with their connuous efforts through the back lines and flanks. 'For the First me in Forever' (this year) “Troll King” Benny Mac was out on the ground to steady the side and give some sage advice to the younger members of the squad as we closed in on the scoreline and the game heated up towards the final siren. Thanks again to the SC group (Kurs, Archie and Koby) that put their hands up to play another game and complete our lineup. Special menon to Aidan Thomson who nearly kicked a goal… twice! Your enthusiasm in learning a new sport is amazing. All in all, another happy Disney ending! Can you hear the music building… now we need to 'Let it Go' and get back to the castle (training & fitness) so we can prepare for our next challenge when we face the Eagles. Let's hope it's not the mud pit it was last year! Let's turn up the heat… Go Demons!

TANTANOOLA

NETball club notes

Junior 1: Windy but somemes sunny at Kongorong, but we didn't get wet, so winning! You girls are tough & you fight hard you really do. I love your resilience. So many brilliant passages of play when we come in front & do direct strong passes. Best players was everyone as you all gave it your all. Standouts were Daisy who played amazing, so much pressure in defence. Also, Ellie who is an amazing lile work horse that goes at 110% from start to finish. Well done.

13 & Under: Our first real winters day down at Kongorong for the year. We got in a good warm up & were told to play short, safe passes in the wind. First quarter both teams took a while to sele & we were even at quarter me. Second quarter we started to sele & pull away. Chiara & Emie put pressure on the goalies forcing errors. Renae stepped on court & created a strong presence through centre & our goalies Kailee & Nyree stepped it up taking the lead by 4. Liv hit the court in the third & really seled our aack while having good vision into our goalies. Jaycie switched with Emie at GD effortlessly. Stella connued to make strong leads all game and Pip showed good contest to the ball. A great win in the end by 18 goals. Well done girls. Pip received The Property Co award, Chiara received the McDonalds award & Kailee received the Shanks Engineering award.

15 & Under: With two regular players unavailable the girls worked really hard to cling to a slender lead throughout the game so it was disappoinng to see them miss out by just two goals. Olivia, with just one training run with the team did a great job and showed she is ready to take the step up from 13's next year. Must also menon Kailee and Emie for their support on the bench.

Awards: Astyn (Denton’s Sportspower), Malda (Donut King) and Rachael (Devine Gis).

17 & Under: Such a fantasc game played by the girls last week. In wild and windy condions we set the task to cherish possession and play short and the girls worked all game to do that. Poppy had a ripper game through the middle and provided a steady presence for the team. With weather condions favouring our defence Molly (Millicent Sportspower) had a great game and had a crack at any ball that came her way. A real team effort and it was so nice to watch a hard-fought team game. A special thanks to Alice, Malda and Astyn who filled in for us and

played excellent. Well done girls.

B Reserve: Windy, gravel slippery condions for players made for a very challenging game resulng in a close encounter. Down by four going into the last quarter it was pleasing to see the dogged determinaon of all players to sele and deliver the ball in a more controlled manner. Great captain's game from Kath (Sassi award), Riley (meal voucher) and Amy were solid in defence taking numerous intercepons, while Chloe (Devine Gis) showed good posioning and some excellent passing at WA.

B Grade: Last week we played Kongorong at their home ground. The weather was looking prey bad but lucky with the later me frame we had no rain and managed to get a good game in.

Aer the constant stop start it has been tricky to get our groove and with a few players away we were working on some different game strategies. The girls did great, they stayed posive and we worked on our own game style. So glad we can come away with the win.

A Reserve: In wild, windy, wet and slippery condions the Tigers played the Hawks at their home ground. It was a game of numerous errors with the wind reeking havoc on both teams. The Hawks were the first to sele and converng their goals. Defensive pressure from the Tigers end causing headaches for the Hawks. Numerous intercepts and turnovers caused from Eva, Lucy and Dakota sent the ball back to our aacking end. Not the result we were aer in the end, but it's great to see players taking the next step in their netball games. Best: Eva Bonde – Sassi and Lucy Barber - Kelsey Wright Fitness.

A Grade: With a few out it was terrific to see us adjust quickly in the windy condions. Jami (Kelsey Wight Fitness) worked super hard in aack and along with Shelby provided variaon and contested rebounds (well done on taking in all the instrucons and pung them into acon). Plenty of paence shown by Casey and Kate around the ring. Super effort from Molly who took all the informaon given to her (thanks Narelle) during training and game day. She was supported well by Kate who connues to work hard. Many thanks to Sophie (Gino's award) who did not look out of place and provided plenty of drive whilst creang turnovers. Lots of posive to take out of the game and sll areas that we can connue to improve on.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Amazing effort by the Mini Magpies in tough, wet and wild weather condions! We had some nice play in aack with Hannah (Fasta Pasta) posioning well in the goal circle with some nice feeding from Charlie. Heidi (Boost) Willow and Piper applied ght pressure in defence and caused many turnovers. The lile pocket rockets in Evie and April combined beaufully together in the goal circle in the second half with some nice internal passages of play and lovely goals. Tully and Zarlie worked hard in defence with some nice touches. A huge thank you to the older girls for helping out and sing bench in awful weather condions. Well done girls on your fantasc effort in such horrendous weather condions.

Junior 1: Had a cold start to the morning. We weren’t a fan of the rain and cold but once we warmed up and played our first quarter we were in the zone. We had strong leads to the ball and tried our hardest against the wind. Junior 1’s worked so hard against the strong wind and should be proud of the efforts they put in. Our shooters worked endlessly trying to shoot the goals even though they would come flying back to them but managed to adjust and get the goals. Well done to each one of the girls for playing in such harsh condions. Best players - Aurora (Boost Juice) and Ariella (Fasta Pasta).

13 & Under: What a day for netball with the wind and rain. Our girls started off a bit scrappy and had a hard me warming up. They finally got things together and started playing the game. Tekani was strong in defence receiving Bakers Delight award and it was good to see her back on court and helping guiding Ashley and Emily in the goal circle with her. Down the other end Malda drove and cut well combined with the other girls to get the ball down and into the goal circle and with the wind blowing managing difficult hard shots receiving Fasta Pasta award. Let’s keep going, well done girls.

15 & Under: In windy condions, the girls put together 4 strong quarters for a solid win. Ava ran hard through the centre and fed our goalies well to earn the Bakers Delight award. Molly had another great defensive game, combining with Zoe and Emmity to restrict Robe’s scoring opportunies. Lexie (OK Pie Shop) used good change in direcon and took some hard balls at WA. Lucy and Kiersten together with Emmity created good space and shot well despite the weather not being ideal for goalies. Ella ran hard all game at WD and got her hands to the ball and backed up down court. A good team effort, and sll plenty more to build on.

17 & Under: We said we wanted to start focussed and even in trying condions we achieved our goal. Our first quarter set the game up from the start and we connued to push. Zoe, Lucy, Ava, Molly and Kiersten all sll 15&U players hit the court and

showed how strong our juniors are. Thank you girls! Shayden and Georgia combined beaufully in the goal circle and managed to score with accuracy even in strong winds. Molly received the Judy Hill award, she was available all game paent with her feeds. Our defensive combo Maya received the OK Pie Shop award and Ellie limited the opportunies and connuously sent the ball down our aack end. A very pleasing game and way to bounce back!

B Reserve: Managed to get a small win aer a rather scrappy performance. We struggled to create space down the court and went back to moving sideways instead of using angles. Our new defensive combinaons worked overme to put pressure on their opponents and managed to provide us with plenty of opportunies. The wind wasn’t ideal for any goalie but our girls kept pung them up and were able to finish off. In order to get to where we want to be at the end of the minor rounds we really need to be accountable for ourselves and start making training count to stamp out our errors. Best players were Gemma Box (Gambler City Pharmacy) and Emily Devine (Judy Hill award).

B Grade: Another stellar team performance in windy condions aer a week off. Our goal was to apply defensive pressure all over the court which we were able to achieve through hard work and perseverance. We were consistent with our transions down the court enabling our goalies to finish with accuracy Our defence were rewarded for their efforts with many turnovers, which limited the opposion’s scoring opportunies. Best players: Lucy Williams - Gambier City Pharmacy, Emma Mules - Judy Hill award.

A Reserve: Tricky condions but once we seled into the game we found ourselves playing our style. A ght first quarter made us look aer our possession and control the ball more. Defence was solid giving aack plenty of opportunies. Soph worked hard all day on a quality player Anthea fed Mel and Shayden who both finished off strong under goals. Best players Sam (Ary), Sophie (OK Pie Shop).

A Grade: A tough game for us but we stayed paent and composed throughout the game to sll come away with the win. Janeo and Jayde had their zoomie shoes on and drove hard onto the circles edge and fed accurately. Our defensive pressure connued to build throughout the game and Lara and the Georgias clean defence allowed them to obtain some vital turnovers for us. Eb has a stellar performance, presenng well and also giving us more opons with coming out of the circle. A good team effort but I know we have more in the tank to give to be able to assert our dominance. Let’s keep building. Eb received Ary award and Abby OK Pie Shop award.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Great effort girls. It was lovely to have all players on the court again. Although we unfortunately weren't able to get the ball down into our circle very oen, everyone played as a team and the improvement over the game was amazing! We listened at the breaks and transioned what we discussed into each quarter. Addison had a ripper game in defence, geng lots of touches and intercepts scoring herself best player Malda played a great game too and ran hard throughout the mid court, making lots of great choices at the centre passes, geng herself the second best. Big thanks to Sami for supplying the lollies this week – they were almost all eaten in the first break! Ruby and Isabella again played Junior 1, while Iva and Savannah filled in for the first me too. Everyone did such an amazing job! Enjoy the school holidays and a few weeks off and I look forward to our next game against Kongorong.

Junior 1: Well done to everyone in the Tant game! With only four J1 players it was going to be a tough game, but you all did so well and fought hard for the ball each quarter and never gave up and I'm so proud of you all for your efforts! Massive thank you to the J2s who filled in for us. Ruby J and Bella thank you for playing a full game, and to Iva and Savannah for making your J1 debut, you both came on and gave 100% with a couple of touches and some great leads from both of you. Encouragement went to Hollie, your fight for the ball was perfect and you listened to every instrucon and adjusted your play when needed. Best went to Charloe, your defending/blocking out in the circle is perfect, you drove hard for the ball all game with some great front cuts and you are a great talker on the court. Again, amazing effort and thank you J2s! I hope you enjoyed the 2 weeks off everyone.

13 & Under: Glencoe 40 defeated Tantanoola 28. What a fantasc team effort by everyone in a high intensity and high pressure game. We did an amazing job under lots of pressure from Tantanoola and our own defensive pressure was fantasc by each and everyone of you creang lots of opportunies for us. Mia's defensive pressure at WD was superb grabbing in plenty of intercepts and earnt her best player (Key 2 Sale). Abbie played well at both ends of the court and earnt second best (Paradise Pizza) and Charloe had a great game at WA earning her the encouragement award (Paradise Pizza). Keep up the good work girls. Awesome effort!

15 & Under: Glencoe 53 defeated Tantanoola 45. A great team effort with lots of great passages of play. When the ball speed was played fast down the court it opened up a lot of opons for us. Great feeding and moving in the goal circle earned Violet best player, second went to Ella who took lots of centre passes and fed well and encouragement went to Ruby who had lots of touches in defence. Layla ran hard all day and took plenty of ball in the air, Kloe chased well and had great hands over pressure, Chloe took lots of strong passes in the circle and Bella was strong in the defence circle. Thanks to Lily and Jaylee for benching. I hope you enjoyed the break and are ready to go again.

17 & Under: Glencoe 39 lost to Tantanoola 49. Bad luck girls we had some really good patches of play and some awesome turnovers just need to look aer them when we get them.

Emma and Maddy worked hard in defence and Amelie got plenty of touches at WD. Great intercepts by Mckayla through the midcourt. Shae and Jena had some great passes into the goalies who tried lots of different opons. First best – Maddy Bignell, second best – Jena Jagger, Encouragement – Emma Porter

B Reserve: Tough game girls! We started well and led into the first break, however from then on we lost our lead and it was hard to capitalise on our own centre passes. There were definitely some patches of good play, great defensive work and good movement, however trying to match their style of play, dropping our energy and our lack of want for the ball at mes were very costly There were many mistakes, but it's important to recognise that, take a break, regroup and focus on playing our own game. Best players were Imogen and Jas for their work in defence.

B Grade: An unfortunate loss for us but we played a fantasc team game. We came out strong from the first whistle, giving ourselves a two goal lead at quarter me and showed how well we can play when we all put in 100%. Unfortunately, we lost Kate to another injury in the second quarter and really let our lead slip away while we adjusted to a new combinaon in the aack line. The Tant defence limited our scoring opportunies and capitalised on any turnover making it difficult for us to gain back any momentum. However, our goalies connued to work hard and came back strong in the second half. We stayed almost goal for goal in the last half and applied great defensive pressure all over the court. Our defence worked relessly all day and created a number of turnovers and held balls. First best went to Jorja for her movement and strong hands in the circle. Second best went to Gemma for her drive and direcon down the court. Overall, a solid team performance, let's reset and aim for a strong win next game!

A Reserve: Glencoe 53 defeated Tantanoola 35. Tant are never an easy game, a tough opponent but again we got the points! We came out firing in the first quarter but I really think the warm weather got to us a bit as we started to get a bit flat for the rest. To our credit we fought through, keeping a good lead to the end. Great game by Sami B who put everything we talked about at training in to play and Zoe who ran her lile legs off and showed real strength when meeng the ball. Let's keep the momentum going aer 2 weeks break!

A Grade: Glencoe 41 defeated Tantanoola 26. The sun was shining and we had to work hard for the full four quarters to earn the win. I can't fault anyone's efforts and posivity for the game. In aack we had a big task against the height of Tant and although it took us the first quarter to sele, we were then paent to work to the front space and connued to contest any rebounds. Caitlin (O'Brien Electrical) was strong for us in defence against her three different opponents, disrupng any high passes and snatching in nearly all of the rebounds. We had a late out on Saturday morning and I had to call up Mckayla for just her second A Grade game and she had a ripper! Your driving out of defence was fantasc and you pulled in some awesome intercepts. We should all be very proud of the team games we are producing. A couple of weeks off and then we are ready to go again.

Junior 2: Did not play.

Junior 1: Great game, we are so proud of your effort in the unfortunate weather we had for our game. We knew it was going to be a tough one due to the weather but we persisted and had a great outcome. Our best players went to Alyssa Millich (club voucher) and our other one was Sienna Buntsma (Maccas voucher). We are looking forward to this week.

13 & Under: Great effort girls! We came out firing which was fantasc to see us all switched on and ready to go at the start. The rest of the game was a bit of a roller coaster with patches of fantasc play and great adjusng to the weather condions, and then seen some really silly errors and missed opportunies to look aer the ball and impact the scoreboard. Best on went to Isabelle (Kaboom Bowling) and Adele (Club Award) for fantasc defensive pressure and really controlled footwork. Lets work hard at training and look towards a more consistent game this week!

15 & Under: What a well fought game girls. We knew it was going to be a hard game coming up against a polished side but we kept the lead down enough to keep the pressure on. Took us a bit to sele especially with the weather. We worked hard down the court and geng turnovers. Shooters worked well to get those rebounds. Best players went to Lily Jacob - $10 O'Connor & Graney, Abby Brant – Kaboom and Addison Graney - $10 from Janeway family Massive congratulaons to Paige Telford and Abby Brant for reaching their 50 games for the club. Well done girls.

17 & Under: Well done girls, took a few changes for us to really open up and looking like you were having some fun! Best players going to our defence girls who absolutely smashed it! Eadie Mustart (Elite Supps) playing in GD/GK never giving up and having a giggle at your grass roune. And Harmoni Kent (Mika Hair and Beauty) for adjusng to a few different posions and geng lots off touches. All in all so proud of you girls coming out every week and having a crack. I’m very proud of you all.

B Reserve: A hard loss for our girls. Our passing let us down. The simplest of errors really rocked us and we couldn't get our head into the game. It was a e unl the last 30 seconds and then just couldn't get over the line. A massive shout out to our defence. Best players –Amie Brant with over 20

turnovers. Chernita Goldsworthy for defensive pressure.

B Grade: Well done girls, much beer outcome then the last me we played Tant. New combinaons seled in well and came together quicker than usual. Everyone gave 100% the enre game. Amazing effort with the defence applying pressure all over the play, some good adjustments today with bringing the ball out and down the court aer some much earned turnovers. Mid court worked relessly, providing great control through the centre third, waing for the best opon and accurate passing, and confidence in each other. Goalies movement within the circle was great, reading each other and talking to make clearance and openings to provide easy passing into the post. Everyone played a great game, the teamwork was spot on and I would award everyone for their efforts. Best players went to Rebecca Millie (Park Hotel), Maddie Bowd (Mangos) & Courtney Hardacre (Fasta Pasta), the defence clicked and worked very well together. Keep up the effort girls, we may not come away with wins but in all honesty the games sll feel great and we keep fighng no maer what the score is.

A Reserve: Great win for us! Weather condions kept the game play short and steady. Sarah Lucas had a notably great game in defence applying pressure all game scoring many turnovers. Heidi Finnigan kept the transion of court moving with amazing prelim work and intense defensive pressure. Aack had a great game feeding into the circle. Best players go to Sarah Lucas & Heidi Finnigan receiving Arena Sports Voucher & Vanity Beauty

A Grade: Fantasc effort girls! We played with an intensity and atude more towards the expectaon that we have of ourselves. We were able to do our strongest skills great for four consistent quarters but struggled to clean up our weaknesses. Adjusng to things that aren't working is something we need to priorise hing the end of the season but I commend everyone for the defensive pressure across the court to fight back any balls lost. Best on went to Emily (Commercial Hotel) for a fantasc defensive game once again and Rahni (Elite Supps) for stepping up to the task and playing such a strong game in the circle. Lets enjoy training this week and come out ready to have a crack Saturday!

A Grade: K'doo 54 def Robe 53. With the majority of Robe's A Grade players back in the lineup, we ancipated this was going to be a great tester to see where we are at coming towards the end of the season. Both Kalangadoo and Robe displayed strong performances, maintaining ght defence and intense one-on-one pressure throughout the match. Lucy Perkins (best player – Robe Beauty/Naracoorte Sportspower) provided strong drives onto the circle, ensuring easy feeds into the goalies Sarah Laurie (2nd best – The Eighth Leer) & Demi Carter. Unfortunately in the last quarter, Kalangadoo were able to get up by one goal and hold their lead unl the final whistle. This match provided a valuable benchmark for Robe's A Grade team moving forward. Despite our current fih posion on the ladder, we are determined to finish the season strong, especially now we know what we are capable of

A Reserve: K'doo 57 def Robe 30. A very even first quarter. Defensive turnovers from great hands over pressure enabled us to be paent and give opportunity to the goalies. The second and parcularly third saw Kalangadoo take control and we found it difficult to get momentum. Ellen and Hannah were working hard in the goal circle and Annabel was really keeping their WA to minimal possessions. Our changes in the last quarter gave us some extra run and Ella and Camillie started to open up the goal circle with drive from skimmer and some great feeds from Alex. A game of first and last quarter. Calcua went to Alex Neale – Kut Loose Hair Design) and incenve went to Annabel Durrant (The Eighth Leer).

B Grade: K'doo 66 def Robe 19. Well not our best day at all… I'm not going to sugarcoat it, probably our worst game all season. We weren't ourselves and a lot of our own errors pushed that scoreline out. It's just another day at the office for K'doo. Let's say bye to that game and look forward to future games. Calcua was Olivia Birchall (Loaves & Fishes) who stepped up and played really well considering she was thrown in amongst strong tall goalies. Incenve went to Phoebe Sneath (Woodsoak Wines), she ran consistently in C, and gave the opposion a good run for their money. Was a tough day girls. Don't let it get you down, brush it off and we will work on gelling back together as a team this week.

B Reserve: K'doo 44 def Robe 42. Wow! What a team of rockstars we had. It wasn't a win but it doesn't get any closer when playing the Pies. You know when Mards sheds a tear at the end of the game, it was a ripper. I told Neve at half me that she was playing her best game yet and the opposion obviously agreed with me because she came away with Calcua (Loaves & Fishes). Coaches went to Amanda (Woodsoak Wines). We welcomed Jess back and she was on fire. Jess and Livvy are a great match in goals and this game was no excepon. It was a real team game, everyone smashed it and I'm one super happy and proud coach. A big congrats also goes to Robyn for playing her 50th game. Rob you are an all round amazing team member, club member and legend.

not expect it to be a tough game! The Robe girls sll managed to have plenty of the ball, just struggling to convert this to goals for us. I was proud of the girls for not dropping their heads and remaining posive as a team. It was great to see the mid court making changes to their plays when they saw something wasn't working for them. Kyah (coaches award – Loaves & Fishes) was consistent all game direcng play and working well alongside our wings. Our best went to Olivia (Salubrious Hour) who did not stop all game, along with GD Lexi they were managing so many touches and turns in GK. Georgie, Kiana and Stella shot well in the tough condions. Kalangadoo were impressive to watch and we as a team can learn a lot!

15 & Under: K'doo 54 def Robe 28. Winter sport taking on a whole new level last week. First game where the girls have really had to bale with the weather. Not quite geng there the girls certainly gave it their all. Kalangadoo geng a few early turnovers saw their side sele much quicker, if we had one more the girls certainly would have closed that margin. Millie played a strong game in goals earning her best player (Denton's Sportspower). Her experience, control really helped sele the girls. Coaches award was given to Tess (Naracoorte Sportspower) for yet again showing how versale she is.

13 & Under: K'doo 46 def Robe 12. I'm so proud of how the girls composed themselves, the weather was absolutely miserable and they went out there and gave it their all and the girls never dropped their heads. The girls put their hard work at training into play, making some beauful passages of play. We knew going out there the Doo girls were going to be too good for us, so our aim was to score more goals than the last me we played which is exactly what we did, and actually tripled our score from our previous game. Best player went to Lacey (Robe Seafood & Takeaway). Lace ran out a full 4 quarters in C, fighng hard all day. My coaches award went to Zoe (Denton's Sportspower). Zoe's fight for the ball is outstanding, chasing up loose balls and changing the momentum.

Junior 1: So proud of the girls, all scking it out in the freezing cold wet weather and sll working overme with their team. A massive shout out to our junior 2s Malda, Bey and Jess, who came up last minute and played so well, aer being wet they sll connued all game! Harper, Kendall, Amelie, Aurla & Edie all played well in new posions and tried their best! Was great to see. Incenve (Robe Netball Club) went to Kendall for her mely intercepts and running through all game!

Junior 2: Really tough condions for our girls. It was a cold and windy morning at Kalangadoo and it rained for three quarters of the game. Jenna and I were both really proud of the girls for scking it out and playing out the game. Our incenve went to Tilly (Robe Netball Club), for having a great atude all game, despite the condions. She was incredibly focused and has made a huge improvement this season. Mia also received an incenve (Robe Netball Club) for her great atude, always smiling and giving her best. Well done girls.

Junior 2: The girls braved the cold, wind, and rain. They all did such a great job considering the very poor weather condions. All the girls make us very proud when they hit the court, even more so when they give 110 percent! We had some good passages of play throughout the game. It is so heart-warming to see the girls improve throughout the season, and it is clear they all have a real passion for netball.

Junior 1: A bit of a tougher game, with the cold and wet weather coming in now. We had some wonderful defensive plays, which we got to score from. We were struggling a bit to get the flow down the court. The girls from Hatherleigh were very tall and talented! But we didn't give up, we thought harder and were using our bounce passes, fake passes, which were amazing to watch you girls take in from training! We would like to thank Kenzi & Amelia for playing for us as we were short, you girls did an amazing job! Best players were Leah Norman & Mia Moy

13 & Under: Awesome game by all. Even though we didn't win you all played so well. Was the first me in a while you all started in front and really met the ball in the aack line. It looked amazing, med well and gaolers knew when to come forward and when to hold, with some great feeding. Defence worked hard on some good goalers and made them earn every ball. When we stuck a lile ghter in there you all got some great hands and intercepts. The driving out of defence by everyone and into aack looked awesome. We sll just need to work on our passes, especially when we start to get red. Just make sure they are in front of the player and a one handed pass. But overall one of the best games you all have played in weeks, well done everyone. Big thanks to Leah and Zoe for helping out you both did amazing. Pines Hotel award went to Darcy for some great aacking work, moving well in the circle and holding space well. Canteen award went to Lucy for some accurate shoong, strong posioning in front and holding well. Keep up the tops work.

15 & Under: Despite a determined effort Nangwarry fell short to Hatherleigh. The game was marked by fierce compeon and impressive plays from both teams. Although Nangwarry didn't come through with the win this me their performance highlighted areas of improvement and strength. Good luck Hatherleigh for the rest of the season.

17 & Under: Last week saw us take on Hatherleigh. We started strong and capitalised on our defence’s hard work and strong pressure. We unfortunately took our foot off the pedal in the second quarter but we sll managed to have quite a few strong passages of play. The second half our defence created so many opportunies for us and unfortunately we couldn't reward them. The girls played really well

against Hatherleigh as they're a highly skilled team. I would like to welcome back Kaity into our side. Best players go to Sienna Lewis & Skye Virtanen for their reless efforts and hard work in the defensive end. B Reserve: This was a game marked by intense compleon. Both teams come out with determinaon and some great passages of play Hatherleigh had a great game and took the early lead to give them the win. Nangwarry worked hard and showed great resilience. And it's great to see the connued strength and improvement in the team. Good luck to Hatherleigh for the rest of the season.

B Grade: Great effort by all seven players. We had a number of players unavailable. Big thank you to Heidi for sing bench and Cassie for playing. Nat and Cassie combined well in goals with Nat having a great game earning himself the Muffin Break award. Ebony and Montana ran hard in the mid court and had a go at many intercepons which was pleasing to see. Defence once again worked overme and connue to improve each week. Amy got her hands to many and footwork was great. Chloe always drives the ball well and quarter at centre was fantasc. Stevie had a great game earning herself the Jen's award for amazing three feet and hand over ball pressure along with her drive and defensive pressure. Well done girls. Not many to go, let's connue to improve and enjoy ney

A Reserve: The girls had a really great team game, we had some really great passages of play with Krissy's drive down the court out of defence, and Emily's defensive pressure paid off some handy intercepons. Shandeen and Maddy combined well in the ring and made use of the ball. Alisha had a great game at WA and was able to move the ball well around the aack line and feed in to the goalies. Lyndall gave it her all unl she succumbed to her injury. A big congratulaons to youngster Kaylee McNair who played a quarter at GS, she showed some impressive skills and we look forward to seeing her in more in the senior side. Skye also took to the court for the A Res team for the second week in a row, she was able to use her defensive pressure to slow the drive into the goal ring in that last quarter

A Grade: Against a very strong defensive Hatherleigh, you girls made sure you never gave up! There was a lot more posivity on the courts towards each other which is really what I'm aer at this stage of the season. Just remembering to take up space and put pressure over the ball as much as we can and we will be certain to get even more turnovers than we have been. Let's make sure we connue to get around each other for the last few games and connue to improve right to the end! Best players Maddi Stephens and Lacey Neale.

17 & Under: K'doo 56 def Robe 17. We never come up against Kalangadoo and

hatherleigh

NETball club notes

Junior 1: Some brave girls lined up last Saturday in what we thought would be a terrible hour of weather but to our surprise managed to stay dry. It was pleasing to see that they took on what we had been pracsing at training by moving forward and meeng the ball. All mid court players used iniave to run to the space creang a nice flow down the court. Everyone was having a crack by chasing up all lose balls, reading the play and finding the distance to defend all down the court. Our decision making and spacing over the court has improved so much over the season. It’s now me to work on our pass and geng the accuracy, strength and balance in our shoulder passes. With only 4 games to go let’s all focus on playing out the season with the determinaon we had in this game. HLC - Poppy Bowering & Kate Uola.

Junior 2: In cold, wet and windy condions we started slowly. We took a while to adjust to the condions, making silly errors and not doing the basics. However, aer a good chat at the break, we regrouped and found some posive form. We changed direcon which ensured we were clear of our opponent. Our defence was strong, with high hands over the ball, lots of second efforts and chasing down the loose balls. Well done girls. Awards: HLC - Addison Lowe, Chemist King - Hayley Bowman & Denton’s Sportspower - Lacey Kovacs.

13 & Under: A slightly slow start to the game from our girls but with momentum and support for each other they slowly built themselves back up. Kaia had a ripper game in both GS and GD, swapping easily from one end to the other. Liv and Mollie found the body and worked to the front of their very tall defenders which was great to see. Alirah had great drives on to the circle and stopped her C consistently throughout the game from being an opon. Hazel got to have a crack at WD and, just like her Mum, absolutely nailed that posion. Arabella came on at half me and like the pocket rocket she is, with great drives and precision passing added posively to the aack line. Paige, Chloe and Leyla worked hard consistently pung pressure on their players to cause many held balls throughout the game. Well done girls. Let's make sure we are all listening at training for all posions incase this coach mixes things up a bit more. Denton’s - Kaia Green, HLC - Alirah Bowman.

15 & Under: A strong, four quarter effort from the 15’s against Nangwarry. The girls were switched on from the start, using a paent, short style of game while adapng to wet condions. Sylvie and Sienna presented in front and also ulised the back-space to get into good scoring range. Tilly and Laura fed the ball beaufully, waing for the best opon and backing their teammates to pull in the high ball. Luca, Zoe and Liv showed grit in defence, keeping opposion accountable and geng first hands on loose balls. A good lead gave us the opportunity to try some posional changes in the second half and we adjusted well. Great to see girls using on court some of the skills worked on in training. Mitre 10 award - Zoe, HLC - Tilly 17 & Under: Another good win from the girls, we came out a bit rusty aer a week off, the weather wasn’t great but we managed to keep the scoreboard cking over and come away convincing winners. It wasn’t the condions for long bombs which is something we need to remember and our transion from

different defences needs to be crisper Overall though it was sll a solid game from all girls. Thanks to Luca for sing bench and Ange for scoring. Sportspower award - Chloe Bellinger, HLC award - Niah Faulkner

B Reserve: Great team effort girls, our defence got their hands to many balls and intercepts. Our aack line delivered the ball into our goalies with ease every me with goalies scoring consistently Let’s keep working on our drives out of defence and looking down the court. Look forward to this week’s game coming up against a strong Port Mac team. Thanks to Staci for primary carer, Zoe for scoring. Awards: Grace Chay drinks voucher, Fiona Jackman Millicent Giware.

B Grade: It was a very flat footed and quiet start to the game with a team sll recovering from illness and injury. Ali showed great paence feeding into the goalies with Eliza moving well and Liv strong under the ring for rebounds. Sarah, George and Marni were proving strong in defence, capitalising on any missed shots or loose passes. Kaz and Ali also causing the turnover with great pressure over the ball down the court. A couple of changes to start the second with George into WD and Sarah moving to GD. Sarah playing a blinder and helping to limit Nangwarry’s scoring opportunies. Liv and Eliza shot with phenomenal accuracy - both only missing one goal each in the second quarter to push out the lead at the half me break. Ellie came on at WA to start the third and quickly seled into the game, feeding well to Liv and Eliza who connued to keep the scoreboard cking over at a rapid rate. Marni and Sarah in the last line of defence were wreaking havoc with George driving the ball from turnovers in defence. The last saw Kaz come back on at WA and Ellie move into the goal circle with Eliza. Again the team adjusted well to the changes. Kaz drove hard and deep to the circle to help open up passages of play and Ellie quickly got her eye in to complement Eliza’s sharp shoong and help us come away with a strong win. Awards: Sarah - Somerset, Eliza - Beachport Hotel and AliHatherleigh Sport and Rec. Huge thanks to Sarah for scoring! We missed Mads, and wish her a speedy recovery from injury!

A Reserve: A good win for the girls. We really had to come together and work as a team with our 2 defenders away. Abby Wight and Lucy Corman stepping it up in the defensive end, they did such a good job adapng and giving 100%. Ali McClennand stepped out and filled in for us in WD, thank you Ali! Rosie Neles driving the circle was unstoppable, with Deni Brown in the centre, there was some great talk between the girls. Thank you for Hannah Bellinger from 17s for stepping up and helping us out. Best players: Rosie Nele, Lucy Corman and Abby Wight.

A Grade: A strong team effort. It was great to see players backing each other up, chasing down loose balls and driving strongly to the ball. We opened up our vision and looked down the court, oen taking the pace off to steady ourselves. Defensive efforts from everyone was solid, the communicaon between players stepped up which caused plenty of turnovers and opportunies for our goalies, who finished off accurately Awards: Somerset - Bree Harris, Chelsea Owen & Lara MacGregor & Beachport Brewery - Demi Vanderhorst.

Junior 2: Aer a two-week break, our girls were back on the court, eagerly ancipang their return to the game. Mother Nature seemed to have her own plans throwing rain, wind and even hail into the mix. Despite the tough condions, the team kept their focus and their excitement. With the young team adapng to the elements and keeping the passes short and sharp, although the goals wouldn't fall for us, you wouldn't know that they'd had a two-week break. Our first game back was an unforgeable test of adaptability being our weest and wildest game of the season. With our girls finishing the game with their heads held high and their netball dresses soaking wet, we couldn't have been more proud of their resilience and team spirit. Our encouragement awards were awarded to Desny Johnson and Sophie Stratman. Thank you to McDonalds and Fasta Pasta for donang these awards.

Junior 1: Winter finally arrived at Pt Mac, the cold, wet and windy condions affected our normal game play. We found our long passes and lobs just weren't working, geng held up in the wind. We had some great passages of play and something to build on this week. Encouragement awards going to Milah (Wendy's) with mulple intercepts in GD and Ava (McDonalds) who was everywhere on court bringing the ball down into our aack line.

13 & Under: Port MacDonnell 9 defeated by Mt Burr 38. The weather was horrendous however luckily we didn't get the rain side of things, just the horrible wind. The girls adjusted to the condions and played fairly well. Although the score doesn't reflect the game the girls did some great passages of play down the court, just have to work on keeping possession of our centre passes. Awards: Sharli Manning - Boost, Lily WhanIntersport.

15 & Under: Port MacDonnell 32 defeated Mt Burr 21. Another great win! With only having 6 players and Daisee and Roxy coming up from the Under 13s to fill our side we came away with another convincing win! We adjusted with the wild weather and worked hard to come in front. Awards went to Lili (Kaboom) for doing exactly what we asked of her aer being thrown into goals! Your holding and movement was great. Addison (Baker's Delight) got the other award for her great drives down the court and re-offering. Best players were Bailee Lewis and Layla McPherson.

17 & Under: Port MacDonnell 40 defeated by Mt Burr 57. Aer two weeks off with byes, our girls were ready as ever to hit the court against the third placed Mount Burr side. Our girls started strong, making very few errors despite the extended break, and playing through the incredibly windy condions. Lilly and Chloe Day played together in goals for the first half and did their best to play around some experienced defenders. The second quarter saw the Burr girls pull away, their senior netball experience shining through. Despite this, our girls kept pushing, Sophie Lewis working relessly through the midcourt to not only create countless defensive stops but also the drive into the aack line that we needed. Bree Ridding went down with an ankle injury in the third quarter, raling the girls a lile and the Burr pushed ahead further this quarter. In the final term however, our girls found another level and finished the game strong. Ruby Moody had a number of mely intercepts which Lilly Day was able to convert into goals, moving expertly in the goal circle and making a deliberate effort to present

in front of her player. The bay girls outscored their opposion 14-8 in the last quarter, a testament to their ability to not give up and play a strong team game right through unl the final whistle. Best: Lilly Day (Lima & Co), Sophie Lewis (Birdie Blue).

B Reserve: Port MacDonnell 49 defeated Mt Burr 26. Aer a much-needed twoweek break, our girls returned to the court ready to shake off the rust and dive back into the game. Lile did we know that our first game back was going to be a wild one! As the team re-assembled, eager to reconnect and get back into the groove of a fast paced game, with the dark clouds looming ominously overhead and the wild wind taking control of the ball more than once. Despite the slippery and windy condions, our defenders put up a strong front, with Bridie and Jenni making some incredible intercepts and our goalies holding their own against Mount Burr's defenders and the wild weather. Our teamwork truly shone through, with the slick condions forcing us to rely on short and sharp passes with top-notch communicaon from end to end. With every player giving their all, we managed to maintain our lead throughout the enre match. Our best players were awarded to Salem Moody & Bridie McPherson. Thank you to Lima & Co and Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro for donang these awards. Also, a special thank you to our team sponsors, All Digital Hearing and Michelle Stuckey Flowers.

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 44 defeated Mt Burr 32. Well done girls, we pulled away in the end. Some good touches from Ash in defence and Kenzie running all game. We had some great shoong from Jess and Kelly considering the condions. Speedy recovery to Kelly, let's hope she will back in a few weeks. Best players: Ashlee Schwereger (The Bay Pizzaria), Jess Grigg (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro).

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 33 defeated by Mt Burr 42. Thank you so much to our juniors for stepping up and playing or sing bench for us. We started strong and were giving it a good crack. The defensive pressure that Shannon, Lara & Layla put on the aack was outstanding. Sophie, Narelle & Bailee worked well in the aack line moving it down and around the goal circle. Best players: Shannon Scheidl (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro), Sophie Lewis (Lima & Co).

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 30 defeated by Mt Burr 34. Not the result we wanted or aimed for but coming off 2 weeks off it took us a bit to sele and find our momentum. We had some awesome passages of play throughout the game but also made some silly decisions which costs us scoring opportunies. The goalies worked well together moving around the goal circle but unfortunately, we weren't able to capitalise on our aempts. Once again Emily, Alana and Kate worked overme, ensuring they got plenty of turnovers and touches, giving us the opportunity to take the ball down to our aack line. Alysha and Cody took on feedback and really worked hard to improve their game and it definitely looked beer on court than during the week. You both posioned yourself well around the ring to ensure the goalies had the opportunity to work it in closer to the goal post. Best players: Emily Thompson, sponsored by Lima and Co (VoucherVictoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro), Alana Berkefeld, sponsored by J O. Berkefeld (Voucher - Intersport).

round 13 A GRADE NETBALL MATCH REviews

In trying condions, Pt Mac took on Mt Burr at home. Both teams were needing the win to help keep their finals chances alive & the game started out with high intensity. Port Mac had a lot of the ball early but were unable to convert, taking several shots before scoring their first. Mt Burr’s goalies Danika Shepherd & Madi Hagge also struggled with the wind but were finding the ring with fewer aempts than the Bay. Both teams defensive combos - Alana Berkefeld and Emily Thompson for the Demons & Olivia Dean and Megan Thiele for the Mozzies were superb, creang many turnovers for their teams. All ed up at quarter me, 7-7.

The second quarter saw some great mid court bales - Burr’s Ella Easterby & Pt Mac’s Kate Faint were having a terrific tussle on the wing, as were Laura Schultz & Alysha Coon through the middle. The Mozzies defence of Dean & Thiele went up a gear & gained numerous touches making the Demons goalies Kori Collins & Megan Hein earn every possession. Shepherd & Hagge were working extremely well together with clever passing & accurate shoong. Mt Burr nudged ahead & took a four goal lead into the main break, 16-12.

The third quarter was again a reasonably even affair - the main difference was in the goal circles - Mt Burr able to convert their goals with more ease than the Bay Hagge had a great shoong quarter, and was well supported by Easterby & Schultz on the ring with pinpoint passing. Despite the defensive efforts of Demon defenders Thompson & Berkefeld, Mt Burr extended their lead ever so slightly, to be up 26-20 at the final break.

Pt Mac came out firing in the last quarter knowing they had nothing to lose & everything to gain. They worked hard and managed to level the score about halfway through the quarter. Mt Burr steadied though with the experience of Laura Schultz through the middle & a few silly mistakes crept into the Demons game, allowing the Mozzies to capitalise on their errors. Burr’s Megan Thiele was outstanding in defence, gaining many touches & rebounding most missed shots from the Demons. Port Mac won the final quarter but Mt Burr’s consistent effort was enough for them to come out 34-30 winners. Laura Schultz & Megan Thiele were rightly named best for the Burr, while Emily Thompson & Alana Berkefeld’s defensive efforts saw them named best for the Bay.

Nangwarry 20 lost to Hatherleigh 67

Hatherleigh started this round strong, scoring first aer winning the toss for the centre pass. The young and athlec side

came out blazing down the court, defensively and through their aack line, they started the game strong. Nangwarry aempted to slow down the Eagles, but as hard as the defence of Taysha Marshall at WD, Jemma Glynn in at GD and captain Kayla Gray (GK) tried, the accuracy and movement of the duo shoong team of Bree Harris and Ellysia Redden proved too good for the young Saints side. Harris and Redden were able to score 8 a piece for the Eagles in the first quarter. The Saints worked hard though for the first term, managing to get themselves a score of 4, 3 of those coming from returning player Lacey Neale, who had some beauful movement in the circle and strength under the ring. Neale had some help from her sister, Maddi Stephens, passing in beaufully and talking game play with each other. Young gun Kalli Nele, who had also played an amazing game in U17's, used her speed and agility in at WA for Hatherleigh, taking intercepts and combining well with gun Erin Watson to help their team gain control in the first term.

The first break was where Nangwarry were the only team to make a change, bringing on Michelle Richardson into WA and giving youngster Alice Circelli a break. Hatherleigh once again came out strong, their defensive pressure all the way down the court was amazing. GK, Demi Vanderhorst combined with Lara Macgregor in at GD, seemed to have arms coming from nowhere, taking intercepts and having hands over the ball to slow down the Nangwarry aack line. Youngster Sheridan Sakkers in at GA for the Saints never gave up though, working relessly in the ring with Neale. Chelsea Oven (WD) for the Eagles, used her height and reading of game play to her advantage, making Richardson work hard for every ball. Sakkers and Neale were able to score just the 3 for the Saints in the second term, where the Eagles were able to score an impressive 17.

The main break brought on changes to both teams. Hatherleigh bringing on another youngster and talented player from their U17 team, Niah Faulkner, moving her into C. For the Saints, the height and strength of Kayla Gray was moved into GS, combining with Neale. Richardson was moved back into GK and Circelli was put back into WA. The changes in the aack line for the Saints seemed to bring on a posive start to the third term. Circelli came out strong, working relessly in wing, as did Stephens in at C to help get their team a score of 5 for the quarter. Gray and Neale working hard to move in the circle and score those goals. Again, the fast pace and defensive pressure proved too much for the Saints, adding fresh legs of Faulkner in at C and combining with

Watson, making it even more difficult for the Saints to keep up. Nangwarry were able to keep the Eagles to a score of 13 for the third term.

The final break brought changes again to both teams. Sakkers coming back on for the Saints, but this me into the WD posion. As an aack player, Sakkers showed that she has skill down both ends of the court. The determinaon from Stephens and Circelli were commendable, both players keeping their heads up high and never giving up. Neale and Gray also never gave up, both players scoring 4 goals, helping their team get to a final score of 20 for the game. The change of Harris and Redden in the goal circle seemed to recharge the Eagles, with Harris scoring 11 and Redden scoring 100% of her 10 shots. Hatherleigh showed their speed and skills throughout the whole game, finishing on an impressive 67. Nangwarry never gave up through the game and were able to improve on their score from the last round against Hatherleigh. Final scores Nangwarry 20 to Hatherleigh 67. Best players for Nangwarry - Maddi Stephens and Lacey Neale. Best players for Hatherleigh - Bree Harris and Erin Watson.

Kongorong 31 lost to Tantanoola 45

Thankfully the rain stayed away but the girls sll had to contend with a bit of wind at Kongorong for round 13.

First quarter was quite even with both sides lacking a lile accuracy with shoong as they worked with the wind. Kongorong seled first with the first three goals but Tantanoola got into the groove and ended the quarter in front by 3 goals.

Second quarter was all Tantanoola with sisters Jami and Casey working well in and around the goal circle resulng in Jami shoong a consistent 9 for the quarter. Kongorong failed to capitalise on some hard work by their defences Emily Lightbody and Rach Perry leaving them with some work to do for the second half of the game.

Third quarter saw Kongorong a lot more seled with their defences once again working hard to create turnovers for the Hawks. There was a lot of even tussles down the court which saw both teams shoong 10 for the quarter but sll leaving The Tigers with a 12 goal lead. Once again it was an even game for the last quarter. Kongorong making a few changes to mix things up. Their defence sll working hard it was once again a prey even quarter but the Tigers took away the win 45 to 31.

Best players - Kongorong: Emily Lightbody,Rahni Janeway; Tantanoola: Sophie Bellman,Jami Walker.
