RESERVES

Junior Colts

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

A Grade: Pt MacDonnell 11.10 def Hatherleigh 9.10. Winter may well and truly be here but sll the grounds are not as wet as they have been previous years. Hatherleigh Oval looked in great shape despite the lile mud patches and the occasional rain shower/hail that let us all know that we're playing a winter sport, in between generally sunny condions. Our team really pulled together for this win and there were many considered for the BP list. The midfield and defensive end worked extremely hard, and our forwards capitalised well on the turnovers. Hatherleigh were always going to be a hard team to beat if they were able to play their running game and to the boy's credit, they stopped the Eagles from geng any kind of momentum. Our tackling and connuous work on the ball showed on the scoreboard as it was a close game throughout, but we managed to edge away during the first half and in the second half we were able to consolidate the lead. Josh Woodall secured the BOG with his leadership and tenacity on the ball while Will Macdonald placed 2nd with his remarkable brand of footy. Ned Wilke (3rd) with his steady control of the ball around the ground has shown the club he is as reliable as he is versale, playing both forward and defensively with ease. Jake Schleter (4th) and Colby Munro (5th) stched up the flanks with punishing pace creang the momentum needed going into the forward lines. Alex Ridding and Ned Wilke were our mulple goal scorers with 3 apiece, while Ethan Gladman, Jake Schleter, Chrisan Howle, Josh Woodall, and Will Macdonald kicked 1 each. Next is Robe at home and another chance to cement our posion in the top 4 leading into finals. The season may be nearly over but the work is not done yet, so let's keep our eyes on the ball and focus on one game at a me... so train hard to play hard! Go Demons!

B Grade: Pt Macdonnell 6.1 lost to Hatherleigh 13.10. Well Hatherleigh Oval may have looked like the Okefenokee Swamp last season when we played them but, in a testament, to how dry this winter has been, the ground looked more like the African bush veldt… you know, grassy wide open spaces, a waterhole or two, the odd elephant and the occasional hyena to clean up the carcasses… and let's face it the Reserves usually are the antelopes that are nearing the edge of the herd! Survival of the fiest at its finest! Hatherleigh might have cleaned up liked the hyenas you see on the edge of a kill but our gazelles and antelopes went down fighng the whole way. Ben “Mustafa” McGregor led our pride with valiant style in a game that, unfortunately, didn't translate for us on the scoreboard. The elephant in the room… dare I say… training! Fitness! Both nights! Lion hearted Baz “Scar” O'Dine garnered the BOG with his solid performance across the midfield while Rory “Simba” Narass (2nd) controlled the ruck and worked hard to keep play moving forward at all mes. Nick “Rafiki” Byrnes (3rd), showed that with age comes wisdom and strategically held his ground whichever end he was playing. Meerkat, Isaac “Timon” Narass (4th) and leopard-like Bradley Neale (5th) ran the flanks with senior colt Archie New (6th) who is as tall as a giraffe, all legs and spots, their stoppages and aack on the ball crucial throughout the game. Making it safely through the big scks of the game reserve, the old 'Thomson' gazelle himself, Ben Newton, with 2 and one each from 'Mustafa, Scar, Connor (secretary bird aka the Road Runner) Richards and Joel Newton Anderson. We are home from safari next with a barnyard dust up against the Robe Roosters... as it is Sponsors Day too….. let’s hope roast chook is on the menu! Go Demons!

ROBE ROOSTERS

Junior Colts: Another 'nailbiter', played in windy condions similar to the previous week. All players skills were really tested, to their credit they worked hard to make the most of every possession, resulng in an entertaining game. Both sides made the most of the wind when they were kicking with it. In the end the difference was being able to score more than once when kicking into the wind. Luckily that was us, kicking 1 goal 5 points to Nangwarry's 1 goal. What looked like being a 'draw' was avoided, with Booda sealing the game by kicking a goal aer the final siren. It was great to be on the other end of the 'emoonal scale' aer experiencing 3 games when we have lost either on or aer the final siren. The last 2 weeks have shown what our team can do under pressure. The challenge now is to produce the same effort for the remainder of the season and win our final 3 games. Have a 'red hot go' boys and girls.

B Grade: Last week we welcomed Nangwarry to the chook house. The weather was cold and windy with hail coming down during the senior colts, but as it has been happening all year the sun came out at 12.30 and the boys had prey good condions to play in. As always Nangas brought the game to us and the game was more compeve than the scoreboard showed. Bailey Walker was dangerous up forward and in the ruck. Jordan Hentschke can not only play footy but can cut up the dance floor too. Bram Whilesea has hit top form. Jimmy (the wall)

Wasson, Sam Huebner and Flynn Peel were others to catch the coach's eye. This week we make our longest trip for the season to Pt Mac, another dangerous opponent. With our minds on the job, sck together and keep having fun the results will come our way. Safe driving and go Roosters.

A Grade: On a bierly cold day by the seaside Robe took on Nangwarry. A strong wind was blowing across the ground slightly favouring the town end goals. Nangwarry started with the wind and were first to open the scoring with a major. The pressure was up causing numerous skill errors in the first quarter but the intent of both sides couldn’t be quesoned. First quarter it was all square with Nangwarry kicking 2 straight and the Roosters 1 goal 6. Second quarter Robe had a lot of ball in the forward 50 but were unable to capitalise with inaccuracy in front of goals kicking 2 goals 9 points for the quarter and holding Nangwarry scoreless. At half me Browny gave the boys a rev up and reinforced the game plan we needed to be following, this helped the boys came out aer halime and started moving the ball beer and this allowed for quicker entries and beer opportunies in front of goals. 3 goals 5 for the quarter to 1 goal showed the difference in ball use of the Robe side. The final quarter another 3 goals 7 to a point allowed for a comfortable win in trying condions. Nangwarry pushed Robe all day. Best players for Robe were Jack Sneath, Browny, Ben Dinning, Brodie Foulds and Joel Bryant.

Junior Colts: It was a windy trip to Port MacDonnell and the weather was certainly a contribung factor in the day’s footy. With it being windy and trapped in a pocket scoring was difficult for both teams. Our boys skills were good considering the condions and there were mulple passages of solid link up play. Sonny was best on followed by Reed and Jackson. Owen played his first game and had to play fullback with Mostyn out and he held his own. He'll be a terrific addion to the team.

Senior Colts: The Burr boys had a tough day in the senior colts against a very good Port Mac side. A slow start in the first half saw the boys down by a couple of goals at half me before a beer effort in the second half. Eventually we came away with a 9 point loss to the beer team on the day. Back to work on the training track before the bye. We will need to be well prepared for our next game against Hatherleigh who always take it up to our boys.

B Grade: Aer near perfect condions every match day this season, it was certainly a shock to arrive at Port Mac on Saturday with strong winds and rain. We cannot use this as an excuse though, as we were outplayed by our opposion from start to finish. Our defence held up well and there was never a huge gap between the teams but we just couldn’t create and take our opportunies forward throughout the game. In the final quarter, the magnets were thrown around and we looked more damaging forward, kicking two goals into

the breeze. It was a disappoinng result given Braeden Thwaites was playing his 50th senior game for the club. Thanks very much to Max, Cambell, Dylan & Deklan for stepping up and filling in and playing aer their senior colts match, you all did a great job.

A Grade: We set ourselves some high standards that we thought could help us win the game but unfortunately couldn’t execute them for long enough. We started really well and were super compeve in all aspects and areas on the ground and were able to score well. Our pressure allowed us to win the footy and get the ball forward. It was the kind of day that whichever team stayed in the contest longer and harder was going to win the game. Unfortunately we couldn’t sustain it for the full four quarters and allowed them to kick a few quick ones in the last quarter which ended the game for us. To our credit we fought it out right to the end but just came up short. Lile shout out to the Wallis brothers down back who were hard to separate for our best player and to Will Bowering who I thought played his best game for the year winning his wing posion.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes seniors

B Grade: We were met with a very windy and wet Saturday, oval was in bit of a mess and we were short on numbers again. Credit where credit is due the boys keep rocking up and geng the job done week in week out no maer who runs out, young or old. Port Mac are always a tough side to come up against with their big bodies around the footy. They kicked the first goal and had a lot of the play to start with, we finally started geng on top and using the ball well with some really good team first football. Good run and carry off the half back line. Best players for the day were Bre Watson, Jason Faulkner, James Gilbertson, Kneeno and Jacob Lang.

Junior Colts: Aer some heavy rain and on a heavy deck we hosted Port Mac. The boys were keen to make amends for last me we played them where they got the jump and held on for a win. We managed to control play and possession and locked it into our forward line for long periods. Port Mac defended really well and made us work hard for our score. Despite this we were able to grind away and had a really good win. Paddy McGrath played at centre half forward and provided a good focal point for the team and created lots of drive in aack. Will Dower also got to use his speed up forward and got plenty of the ball to create for others. Billy Bowering stopped everything through half back, aacked the ball hard and rebounded really well. Tommy Atkinson was tough around the

stoppages all day and played a good balanced role of defence and aack in pivot. Tommy Lowe played his best game of the year. Once again he played a good balance of aack and defence on the wing and got plenty of touches. The boys were pleased with their efforts and played a good finals like match. We'll look forward to Mt Burr this week.

football club notes

Last me out we headed over the Bluff to take on the Tigers on their home deck with a W in 3 out of the 4 grades and some good footy played in tough condions. Was a good weekend to be away and Tant's oval was in good condion and held up well throughout the day

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice and Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: Seems the weer and windier the condions the beer Boxy’s troops seem to play. It will be sad when the season ends for this group as it’s excing to watch the team work along with the bigger older lads bringing everyone into the game and against Tant was no different. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King & Compton Street Bakers Delight with the best players going to Caleb, Leo, Ollie E, Van, Spence & Chad.

Junior Colts: With Tant having the wind at their backs in the 1st quarter they managed to make good use of the condions and kicked away to a 26 point lead at the 1st break which in the condions set the game up for the young maggies. The 2nd proved a tough affair with the Maggies holding Tant scoreless while managing a couple to bring the margin back to 12 points at the main break. Macca asked for a huge defensive effort in the 3rd and wasn't disappointed holding Tant to the singe goal while managing one against the wind to be within 11 points at the final break and the wind at their backs in the last. The Junior Colts rallied and set sail in the last kicking the only 3 goals for the qtr while holding Tant scoreless to end up with an impressive 9 point margin and 9th win for the year. Best players went to Lachy – Spot On, Nathaniel – Bunnings, Koby – OK Pie Shop, Frank – Bakers Delight, Natalia –Coaches Award and Jakobe BarryKillara Food Court encouragement award.

Senior Colts: We got to welcome a few lads from South and one on loan from the Burr plus calling on our everreliable Junior Colts to make sure we got another game in for our Colts.

Losing Nato early with an ankle hurt but the boys rallied and to their credit baled hard over the 4 quarters and finished strongly. Best players went to Axel – Roadhouse, Angus Urquhart –Country Atude, Hunter Higgins – KD's Deli, Jordy Bartle – OK Pie Shop, Max Hunt – Aussie Disposals, and Lachy McCann - Killara Food Court encouragement award.

Reserves: Having a few players called up to the 1's Auldy had to once again shuffle the board around a bit and get on the phone Thursday. But the boys rolled out some vintage footy throughout the 4 quarters in tough blustry condions which clearly favoured the far end of the ground but sll managed a strong 58-point win to connue the good run. A tough one this week against Glencoe who are fighng for a spot in the 4. Best players went to Kye, Alex Carter, Jye, Mitch, Simmo & Blommy

Seniors: With plenty to play for, Lynsey once again had to shuffle the magnets around as a few out and away but sll a very handy side out on the park to take on the Tigers on their home deck. Tant had what would have been a 4-5 goal wind at their backs in the 1st but the defence was up for the challenge and with the midfield pushing back to help out managed to hold them to 3 goals while we managed 1 ourselves to be down by 11 points at the 1st break and game on. The boys went to work in the 2nd qtr and made good use of the wind and playing some fast free flowing footy at mes and making the young Tant defence have to work overme, not for some inaccurate kicking we would have had a bigger margin than the 23 points at half me. The 3rd quarter was almost a carbon copy of the 1st except Tant could only manage 2 with the wind while we managed another into the wind to have a 16point lead at the final break and kicking with the wind in the last. The Tigers started the last strongly defending well and winning their share of clearances however the defensive efforts were there and constantly rebounding to give our forwards plenty of opportunity in front of the big scks and kicked away in the last to end up 35-point winners. Best players went to Tye, Sammy, Lachy, Manes, Brad Auld & Robbie Hein.

Back home this week as we welcome past players for the 82, 83 & 84 Premierships. There will be plenty of laughs and stories being told over an ale or several no doubt while watching the current day Maggies take on Glencoe.

football club notes seniors

Aer a double bye we welcomed Kongorong to our home deck for a cold and windy day. We celebrated Zacc Cocks 200th game and won in style. Congratulaons to Donna Jaeschke on her 200th netball game too. Donna is a massive contributor to not only the netball club but also the football club, your work is much appreciated Donna. We would like to thank Dane and Jenna for organising a terrific aucon night which was well aended. Thank you to Jeff Braun and the netballers for the delicious roast dinners.

junior colts

Under 11: A great lile tussle between Kongorong and us. A few players short but we connued to bale out Eli winning the contest one on four, Je's endeavour to chase down three forwards and Harry's State of Origin tackle were a few of the highlights.

Junior Colts: With a couple key injuries keeping players out we sll had a team hopeful of geng back on the winners list. The first quarter we dominated from the start, Jake took a nice grab and goal from the goal square to fire the boys up. Hamish found his kicking boots and kicked goals at will while also seng up team mates, he finished the day with another best on performance boong 8 goals. Other best players were Max J, Sam, Harley, Jake and Max E.

Senior Colts: In challenging condions Kongorong had the 'scoring end' in the first term however we managed to control the ball. We got it in deep and used our run with some terrific skills from Max and Sam seng up many of our forwards being clean all day. Aer the first term we were inaccurate at mes but managed to roll through for a nice 78 point win. Credit to

Kongorong for baling it out. Goals were kicked by Sam and Brodie with three each. Best was Patrick who had scky fingers up forward, Kallan using his run, Kaleb playing tough footy, Tyler on the wing and Daniel playing some good footy

Reserves: Finally, back to a team full of senior footballers and not relying on the colts to field a team. First term saw us lead by four points. Second term we kicked a lazy 2.9, Dane might need to swap his boots over with Hamish to learn how to kick through the big scks. We found the goals in the third term and finished with a 64 point win to hopefully lock our spot into the top four which is amazing considering we finished on the boom last season. Best for the day was captain Jason who's having a huge season, Trent, coach Ben, Jacob, Mitch, and Dane rounded it out.

Seniors: Aer the disappointment of Tantanoola and having a big three week period of trainings we were ready for a determined Kongorong. We controlled the first term kicking five goals playing for each other and backing up each other which is always great to see. The second term we let Kongorong back into the game when they kicked a number of goals but we also scored at will with new aacking opon Jack finding the big scks. The second half the sng went out of the game and we connued on our scoring ways with Harry O also kicking a couple firing the boys up. We got the win with all the boys inspired to do it for each other and especially for one of our leaders Zacc in game 200. Best players were captain Dylan, Zacc, Patrick, Ma against his old side, Alex who also booted six goals, and Jack E who kicked a career high bag of five.

NANGWARRY SAINTS

Well once again we headed to Robe in the middle of winter and they made sure to remind us exactly of that. We had rain, hail and a wind temp that felt like it was in the minuses. Thank you to all the families and supporters who make the journey down to Robe.

A big few weeks to finish off the season. This week marks the 30 year reunion for the victorious 1994 premiership team. They will be joined by the 1999 team to celebrate 25 years. It will be great to see as many as possible venture out for a catch up along with any other former and current players and supporters. Following teas we have the reverse draw

Next week we have our annual Red, Black and White formal. Tickets are on sale now

Thank you also goes to this week’s sponsors The Spud Train and Collins Court Butchers.

How lucky are we that once a month The Spud train comes to our very own town and feeds us all aer training? The Spud Train Mt Gambier is locally owned and operated and has special links to the Nangwarry Community. We love having you guys as one of our sponsors and thank you for all your support.

Collins Court Butcher are another locally owned butcher shop providing retail and wholesale premium meats sourced locally. We use Collins Court products as our way of saying thanks for supporng Nangwarry Football Club.

Junior Colts: We've experienced some classic wet weather footy down at robe last week. Some rain, some hail and a decent breeze blowing down the ground. We kicked into the wind to start and were able to get a score in the first. Our second quarter was a lot beer only allowing 2 behinds and kicking 3 goals ourselves. 3rd quarter we managed to score against the breeze and keep the score close with our opposion and set up for a thrilling finish going with the wind in the 4th. We started the last quarter trailing by 3 straight kicks, but aer some really good footy from our half backs and mids geng the ball forward and giving our forwards opportunity we closed the gap and found ourselves leading late in the game. Aer what felt like the longest quarter ever and real arm wrestle throughout we gave up a free kick in Robe’s 50 and with a kick aer the siren Robe scored to snatch the win. From start to finish our kids have played absolutely unreal and really was some fantasc footy to watch.

Senior Colts: The team had another solid win in some of the worst condions imaginable with hail and freezing winds. To be honest no one wanted to be out there but the boys got through it together and produced a really good team effort led by Archer Virtanen, Bay

McKinnon and Noah Virtanen. Unfortunately the bad condions probably contributed to a few injuries which isn't ideal but that might give others more opportunies over the next few weeks, starng with Tantanoola this week.

B

Grade: Up against it last weekend in a undefeated Robe, they definitely looked a class above and proved that throughout the game. Our boys never looked interested or looked like they wanted to be out there to be honest. There where some patches where we played good footy but again just couldn't keep it up for the whole game. Was a disappoinng game but hoping the lads can bounce back this weekend against Tant and hopefully get the 4 points.

A Grade: Cold wet condions in the earlier games but were fortunate the rain subsided by the me we ran out, however prevailing winds favoured the Robe end of the ground. Again we were faced against an opponent entrenched in the top two posions on the ladder, but again we prepared well and we were ready for the challenge. We did have the wind in the first quarter and we started well geng the first goal of the game. Again our transion movement was good and our defence was holding firm. At the end of the quarter the scores were level. We were against the strong breeze in the second and we stuck to our plan and didn't allow Robe to play their natural fast footy game. It was a good quarter and despite the strong wind Robe only managed 3 majors for the term. We were up and about at half me and were looking to make the most of the breeze in the third quarter however we squandered opportunies and didn't quite sck to the game plan. Despite the favourable condions we only kicked 1 major for the term. Again we reset at the last break. Browny has the Robe boys in good shape so again it was important we adjust back to the game plan to avoid Robe geng total control of the last quarter. Again we applied the same pressure as we did in the second quarter and at mes played good "tempo footy" throughout the quarter. But more pleasing our boys accepted the grind and stood up to the challenge from a side vying for top spot on their home deck and by the final siren we kept the final scoreline to a very acceptable level. We connue to improve in different areas of the game each week. Goal kickers were Jack Pudney, Andy Hyland and Isaac Raymond. Best players were George McWaters, Ty Dinnison, Lennox Lewis, Joel Virtanen, Isaac Raymond and Logan Gibbs. This week we take on Tantanoola on our home deck in what is a big day for our football club, the 1994 and 1999 Senior Premiership Reunions. See you all there.

Junior Colts: Last week we had Kalangadoo at home in what would be another cracking game, the boys had the wind in the first quarter and they made the most of it kicking away early and we held the lead all the way ll the last quarter were unfortunately the doo kicking a couple late goals give them the win by 9 points.

Senior Colts: Last week we played Kalangadoo at home in some very tough condions. Kalangadoo started with the wind and the boys started well keeping them to 6 points and us kicking 1 goal and 2 points, the second quarter seen us really put our foot down boong 4 goals to none. In the

second half it was much the same with us kicking 9 goals to Kalangadoo kicking 5 of their own. Best players were Brayden Rowe, Sam Simmons, Braydn Hateley, Jake Bevan, Eli Bowman and Marshall Clarke. Goal kickers were Ryan Long 5, Jake and Braydn 3, Josh Vanderhorst and Brayden Rowe 1.

Reserves: Last week in the B Grade we hosted Kalangadoo, the boys started really well we had plenty of run of half back and we had some really good looks going into the forward 50. In the second quarter Kdoo got a run on and kicked 6 goals and that was the difference in the game. The boys had a crack and that's all I can ask of them. Once again I had 6 senior colts play a second game, well done and thanks for your efforts. Best players were Juddy, Marky, Ousey, Bommer, Bundy and Ash Foulds.

A Grade: Last week we played Kalangadoo at home in very windy condions. We started really well being a couple goals up at quarter me going with the wind. We started slow allowing them to kick a couple quick goals at the start of the 2nd which was probably the only difference for the game. The 2nd half was a very close contest with very average condions 3 goals down with about 10 minutes to go but we let them kick a couple late goals which put us away. The boys baled all day definitely had their chances to get back into the contest but unfortunately couldn't get there. Best players Jordy Ha, Troy Ha, James Braun, Ethan Bowman and Brandon Pis.

NETball club notes port macdonnell

Junior 2: Our girls took to the court with great excitement and energy, ready to showcase their skills and teamwork. It was a fantasc game, full of determinaon and fun from start to finish. From the first whistle, our youngsters were on the move, showing off their passing and dodging skills. Throughout the first half, our defenders did well to block some of the other teams shots and made some great intercepons. The second half saw some excellent rebounds by our shooters, and some excellent plays geng the ball down the court. Although the game was tough, our girls should be extremely proud of their efforts. Every player took on board what the coaches asked of them at training. Our encouragement awards donated by Wendy's and Donut King went to Imogen Griffiths and Chelsea Grosvenor

Junior 1: It was a hard game but you all played well against a tall, strong opposion. This was an improvement from the first round which is what we want. We will work on passing around tall players and geng in front. Ana (Fasta Pasta) moved the ball well in aack and shot a goal. Skyla (Fasta Pasta) made many turnovers and gives 100% every game.

13 & Under: Hatherleigh 74 defeated Port MacDonnell 15. The girls played strong and put together some amazing passages of play! Although we lost the girls are showing more and more growth each week which really shows for the side lines even if it may not on court. We had Daisee Stanley play in goals shoong an epic first goal which was meant to be a pass to Lily Whan over the ring. It's been a tough season so far as tears were amongst us heavily this game, we will connue to push through and finish the year high with fun and laughs. Awards: Daisee Stanley - Arena, Lucy Neale - Kaboom. 15 & Under: Hatherleigh 39 defeated by Port MacDonnell 55. We scored another fantasc win. The weather was not on our side, which made it very difficult to score our goals. Our goalies did amazing considering the wind and hail we endured throughout the game. Our defenders worked hard, with Layla, Chelsea and Addison, geng plenty of touches and bringing it strong out of defence to score our goals. Isla and Kacey were in our aack line, these girls ran and fed really well to our goalies who were Bailee & Lilli. We welcome back Mia to our team who has been absent quite a bit this season due to illness and holidays. She had a go at GK and did very well for her first game back. Thank you to the two 13s that sat on our bench, Roxy and Daisee. Awards: Kasey McLean (Fasta Pasta), Chelsea Fulham (Boost).

17 & Under: Hatherleigh 49 defeated Port MacDonnell 39. In wet and windy condions again, our girls were hunng for a win aer going down to Mt Burr in the previous round. An even first quarter saw big sides making the most of any second chance opportunies Lillie Lamb and Lilly Day shoong with fantasc accuracy. Our defenders worked overme in the second period to peg back the margin, but Hatherleigh's strong midcourt zone defence proved a tough obstacle for our girls. The second half saw a Ruby Moody check into the game, a strong defensive presence as always and helping bring the ball into our aack line safely Jasmine Morgan had the tough task all game of guarding a regular A-Grade goalie but did a sublime job, working relessly for four quarters to give us the opportunies we needed to get ourselves back in the game. The last quarter saw the bay girls step it up a level and got the game back within two goals at one point, Hatherleigh's experience proving too much at the final whistle however, our girls going down by 10. Despite a tough loss, we sll had plenty of reason to celebrate as Alicetyn Stanley played her 50th game for the club, congratulaons Ally and we hope to see at least another 50 soon!

Awards: Jasmine Morgan (Fasta Pasta), Lillie Lamb (Fasta Pasta).

B Reserve: Hatherleigh 41 defeated by Port MacDonnell 48. In a game that tested every ounce of grit and determinaon, the Demons faced a formidable opponent on the court against Hatherleigh. From the first whistle, it was clear that this match would be a true test

of our resilience and teamwork. The opening quarter set the tone for a hard-fought bale. Both teams relentless in their defence, making it difficult to score. Our girls showed incredible tenacity, diving for every loose ball and contesng every pass. Despite the intense pressure, we managed to stay within striking distance, ending the quarter with a narrow margin. As the game progressed, the physicality only increased. Our defenders, Fiona, Bridie, Eboni and Jenni, were like walls, blocking shots and intercepng passes with precision. The mid-court was a war zone, with Paige, Deanne and Salem relessly running and creang opportunies. Our shooters, Ainsley and Amber, remained composed under immense pressure, sinking crucial goals to keep us in the game. The third quarter was where our team's spirit truly shone. Even when faced with setbacks, our girls never gave up. The sheer determinaon and willpower displayed were awe-inspiring. Every player on the court gave their all, pushing through fague and pain. In the final quarter, the intensity reached its peak. The scoreline was ght, and every possession counted. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, cheering and urging our team forward. With seconds cking away, we fought tooth and nail, showcasing the heart and soul of our team. The game ended with the Demons 48 - Hatherleigh 41; the performance was nothing short of epic. Each player demonstrated exceponal courage, strength, and teamwork. It was a game that reminded us all of the true spirit of netball –the relentless pursuit of excellence and the unwavering bond of teammates. Congratulaons to our team for leaving everything on the court. Let's carry this fighng spirit into our next game and connue to strive for greatness! Also, a huge thank you to our team sponsors Diverse Concrete Co & S.Cram Concrete & Construcon.

Stevie and Ash had some great touches and rebounds in defence with Jess Byrne gaining some pick ups. Kenz ran hard all game with great feeding from her and Montanna to allow the goalies to shoot with great accuracy throughout the whole game. Let's connue the momentum. Best players: Elivia Stanley (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro), Stevie Collins (Salt Café).

A Reserve: Hatherleigh 38 drew with Port MacDonnell 38. What a cracker of a game! Everyone dug deep and kept fighng unl the very end. Thank again to our juniors who played and sat bench for us. The defensive pressure created many turnovers. Shannon and Lara working so well together down in defence. Our aack line worked well against tough defence. Best: Lara (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro), Michelle (Intersport).

A Grade: Hatherleigh 29 defeated by Port MacDonnell 48. It was definitely an awesome team effort by all. Our defensive pressure all over court was outstanding and we all kept fighng and never gave up, we also had some great smooth transions down the court. Emily and Alana, you guys are an awesome defensive combo to watch and you both read off each other and read the ball so well. A special menon definitely goes to our aack line, from the sideline it looked so much clearer than normal, which we have been working hard on at trainings to achieve on Saturdays. Cody and Lysh, your drives were awesome and very well med and you didn't get stuck in the pockets, also you had great paence when feeding into the ring. Megan and Korz, you had a much beer game in the ring, you both moved and posioned yourselves well for rebounds. Thank you very much to Shannon and Sophie for filling in for us, you both had a great game on court. All round great game by all and watching it all come together and bounce back from last week. NETball club notes robe

A Grade: Robe 77 def Nang 18. Robe came up against Nangwarry in a windy & cold match. Robe capitalised on turnovers from defence efforts from Gould, Bates and Jennings maintaining a lead 33-11 at halime. In the third quarter, Robe's strong performance connued with consistent play and defensive efforts ensured their dominance, concluding the match with a final score of 77 to 18. Robe's strategic plays, effecve feeding, and turnover capitalisaons were pivotal to their win. Calcua went to Emillie (Pure Luxe/Naracoorte Sportspower) and coaches award went to Alannah (Oosons Real Estate).

A Reserve: Robe 61 def Nang 15. The A Reserves braved the condions and played a controlled aacking game against Nangwarry. The team worked on different things each quarter, building and improving as the game went on. The aacking side worked well to move the ball quickly into the circle and make scoring opportunies. Calcua going to Ella in GA (Pure Luxe). The defenders and midcourt applied pressure down the court, geng turnovers in the centre third. Well done to Skimmer for incenve (Oosons Real Estate). All girls played a ripper game and held a solid win!

B Grade: Robe 70 def Nang 8. Aer our previous game we were so deflated and disappointed in our game. Last week was such a solid improvement! We started the game strong and built upon this each quarter. We were back to our game! We implement everything we've worked on throughout the year and pushed out a consistent team game. You all played so well & backed each other up. The on court posivity and direcon was fantasc! Such a great game to watch! Calcua went to Sienna (Pure Luxe) who shot some boomers in a hurricane. Incenve went to Sophie (Oosons Real Estate) who had her eyes up and got her hands to so many! She was on fire! But honestly I could have given you all the best! You all gave 100%! Let's keep this energy this week when we come up against Pt Mac!

B Reserve: Robe 39 def Nang 14. Coming off last week’s high the girls were pumped to hit the court at home against Nangwarry. Cold and windy condions meant we needed to play a controlled game, really paying aenon to our passing and not rushing the play Jess and Livvy had their work cut out for them in the goal circle. The wind making scoring a hard task. Livvy picked up Calcua (Pure Luxe) for her work in goals and backing up Jess. Cass got coaches award (Ooson Real Estate) for her hard work in WA. Backing up the goalies on the ring and reading the play well. Great win girls. See you at Pt Mac this week.

17 & Under: Robe 30 def Nang 25. Wet and wooly morning for the 17's making it hard to sele with the wind and rain! The girls had a lineup featuring lots of different combinaons which took a lile bit of geng used to but as the game went on they all seled! I was proud of the girls for working together and staying posive all game, chipping away at the score! Best player went to Kiana (Steve's Place) who was consistent and shot well in the windy condions! Coaches to Emily (Salubrious Hour), for her strong drives and repeated efforts. Well done

Roosters!

15 & Under: Robe 51 def Nang 8. What a win. The girls were working to get a good win to try and push our percentage up, really wanng to get back up to that 4th spot on the ladder They all showed that they are here to get to finals. Our defensive pressure the whole way down the court was what won us the game geng those much needed turnovers, the girls saw just how important it is to defend every pass. Millie and Milla combined well in the circle geng some brilliant passes from mid courters Lilly, Tess and Kaitley Our defences Makenzie and Lindsey smashed out WD cung off Nangwarry's WA most centre passes. Lastly defenders Holly and Leni worked relessly pung the pressure on and geng those rebounds that we would bank on. Both earning themselves best player (Leni – Steve's Place) and coaches award (Holly – Salubrious Hour). Well done girls. Bring on Port Mac, we've got this.

13 & Under: Robe 6 def by Nang 13. Mother Nature threw it all at us last week! Wind, sideways rain, hail and freezing temperatures! Despite this, the girls pushed through and played their lile hearts out! It was tricky to pick my coaches award as everyone pulled together and put in 100%. Freya and Livia worked relessly in the ring against defenders that were a good foot and a half taller than them. Sassy and Zoe once again kept opposion goals to a minimum. Lacey, Kirby and Lex working together threw the mid court well, unl Lex came off due to illness. Ariah sloed in to fill her place and chased up many loose balls. Best player went to our lile pocket rocket Lacey (Union Café). And coaches award was given to Kirby (Salubrious Hour) for giving it her all. But I'd like to give a special shout out to Zoe, who took ownership of her posion and was direcng play. She showed fantasc leadership which was absolutely amazing!

Junior 1: Great game again with the girls, embracing the freezing condions and playing great netball. Staying in the same posion all game allowed some momentum and we got beer and beer with each quarter. Scoring opportunies with the wind made it hard, but we sll managed to convert. Incenve went to Aurla (Robe Netball Club) for her great driving and passing into the ring.

Junior 2: Another tricky game for our girls, with strong winds and rain most of the game, unfortunately. It was hard for the girls to find their groove, with the cold weather making it difficult for them to focus and move around the court well. There was certainly plenty of effort around the court though and the girls chased the ball hard. Our passing let us down however, an ongoing skill we will keep developing. As coaches, it can be difficult rotang ten players fairly. We oen have several changes each quarter and this causes quite a bit of confusion on the court aer breaks... a skill we are trying to fine tune to have minimal impact on the team's momentum. Incenve went to Halle (Robe Netball Club), who gave it her all in centre. Halle lead well all game and had a great atude, despite the condions. Hopefully a dry court for the girls this week!

Junior 2: Well done girls, your first wet game for the season. In windy, cold and rainy weather condions at Port Mac, you all played amazingly. You should be so proud of yourselves. Everyone had great persistence with shoong goals and celebrated when someone scored. It was fantasc to see how you adjusted your game play to suit the weather. A big thanks to Gracie for sing bench and playing when we had an injury. The Wendy's award went to Lux for having strong defensive pressure and for being brave and coming back on aer an injury. The Acky's award went to Paige who had great footwork in slippery condions and shared the ball around with her teammates. Well done girls!

Junior 1: In wet and windy condions at Port Mac, and with only 5 players available, we had Alaska, Charlie and Paige fill in for us and they sloed in seamlessly. The girls proved again how versale they are, and played exceponally well in wet condions. Our movement down the court was great and we worked the ball in well which enabled us to shoot from close in. The awards went to Grace (Fasta Pasta), Sydnee (Zambreros). Alaska, Charlie and Paige all took home an Acky's award. Thank you so much girls for filling in. Thanks to Macy for umpiring!

13 & Under: Well done girls. The weather was very windy. We did a great job in those condions. There were lots of changes and we adapted well and supported everyone all over the court. It wasn't a great day for goalies, but we made strong rebounds when we missed, and also down the other end against Pt Mac. Enjoy the week off and come out firing against a tough side in Hatherleigh. Thanks to Mandy for umpiring and Erin for scoring. Awards went to Wren - Subway, Poppy - Fasta Pasta and Isabelle - Ackys.

15 & Under: Bad luck girls, great game in some tesng weather condions! There was great movement all over and many intercepts taken all over the court. With amazing defensive pressure from all and a paent approach to goal helped us to capitalise on the score board! Best players went to Becky Davis geng the Subway award and Isabel Obrien geng Ackys Deli.

17 & Under: A good win in tricky condions. The weather made it look like it would be tough to be a goalie. Not in our team! Posioning and paence in and on circle edge created great scoring opportunies. Great accuracy by all of you. Great to see you all change your leads and dives to suit the condions. Defensive pressure was again a strength, forcing pressure shots. It is important that we treasure every turnover and "speak up" to help team mates know how to change leads when needed. Passing was improved and you adapted to mulple changes in posions. Well done Macy (Ginos) and

Ashlee (Zambreros) on winning our awards. Thanks to Laura for umpiring and Nicole for scoring.

B Reserve: Port Mac 49 Mt Burr 26. With lots of wind to contend with we did a great job to increase our score by 10 from the first round. Just shows consistent training and dedicaon really do work in improving game play. We had to work hard to maintain possession with Port Mac who apply pressure all the way down the court. Awards went to Chrisne Farana and Tracey Was thanks to Zambrero's & Ampol for our vouchers.

B Grade: In windy condions we headed to the bay to take on Port Mac. Both teams coming out strong with 9 goals a piece in the 1st quarter, the goalies working hard in the windy condions to get shots up. A few mistakes and Port Mac took a 2 goal lead in to half me. Third quarter we dropped our momentum and let Port Mac gain a lead we could not peg back. Some great defensive pressure from Caity saw her take many intercepons. We sll need to work on moving the ball quickly down the court. Lets regroup at training and come out strong against Hatherleigh. Awards: Sports Power - Tilley, Fasta Pasta - Caity

A Reserve: Heading down to Port Mac, you never know what the weather will bring. But Saturday brought us a lile bit of rain and a hell of a lot of wind. From the get go, we knew our passes needed to be short to maintain possession with the wild winds. The first quarter we went out, played a short and slow game, keeping control and allowing us to walk away at the break with a 5 goal lead. During the second quarter, the rain came, this caused us to make a few errors. Port Mac capitalised on our errors, with the margin sll being 5 goals at half me. Heading into the third, we made a few changes, allowing greater drive into aack. Maddie and Simone worked relessly to create turnover aer turnover, allowing our goalies more opportunies at scoring. Ending the third quarter up by 7 goals. Heading into the last, we knew we needed to score our own and connue playing a short game to keep our lead. Connuous turnovers from Jaz and Maddie and accuracy in the goals from Ava allowed us to create an even greater lead, ending the game with an 11 goal win. Great team effort in terrible condions. Award winners were Maddie Gamble - Somerset Hotel and Ava Smith-Muhovics - Heaven on a Hanger. Thank you to umpires, scorers, mers and supporters, days couldn't run without you!

A Grade: We headed down to Port MacDonnell where serious wind condions awaited us, making us adjust our game strategy accordingly. We focused on gaining possession through numerous offensive and defensive rebounds, which allowed us to transion the ball steadily from one end of the court to the other. The last me we faced this team, it was a close match, and this me proved to be no different, but we ulmately secured a 4goal win. Thank you Lisa for umpiring and Alan for scoring. Awards went to Laura (Zambreros), Megan (Since Fiy Six) and Danika (Harper and Co).

NETball club notes hatherleigh

Junior 1: A good team effort last Saturday Our aackers worked hard on their ming and meeng the ball all day long and it proved to created a beauful flow down the court. Defenders created countless turnovers by posioning themselves to see the ball and their player. Goalies were paent and shot well in the windy condions. We adjusted to the changes each quarter and everyone worked together really well. HLC- Kate Uola, HLC - Myla Bowman, Beggs Bean & Bar- Violet Fitzgerald.

Junior 2: Another great game girls! Our balance and footwork, gets beer every game. Our change of direcon was strong however, we weren't finding the front posion comfortably which meant we forced some passes over the top of some tall opponents. We had some strong shoulder passes down the court, and applied lots of pressure defensively. We were able to get lots of deflecons and turnovers, chasing down every loose ball. Awards: Sportspower - Pippa Holland, HLC - Torah Oakley, Beggs Bean & Bar - Hadlie Green.

13 & Under: A great team game girls. So many amazing things happening on the court when you all use your voices. We switched up a few combinaons throughout the day and it all worked well. Chloe got many hands and clean intercepts to balls. Hazel, Mollie, Kaia and Livvi all moved and shot well. Paige kept the pressure up on her GS and protected the post well. Leyla had some sharp footwork and great angles. Arabella and Alirah worked seamlessly to feed the goalies with accuracy and precision. Well done again girls. Let's keep the voice happening and supporng each other. HLC - Arabella Hassell, Millicent ChemistChloe David.

15 & Under: Up against the top team, we definitely pushed Port Mac and were able to match their court play for a majority of the game. Port Mac’s pressure over the ball forced us to adjust by making our leads more direct and giving the ball quicker. Our aack line seled into some lovely passes of play and connue to gel as the weeks go on. In defence, we took some great intercepts and rebounded strongly. The second half was very even, and I was impressed with how we valued possession and didn’t drop our work rate even when the weather deteriorated. Well done girls. Sportspower award -Sienna Clark, HLC - Olivia Bellinger

17 & Under: Not our greatest game but we sll got the job done. Every quarter had some lovely passages of play but the poor decision making and lack of grunt had us working hard to build and maintain our lead. Niah once again read the play well, picking up many intercepts consistently over the course of the game. Sll plenty to work on girls. Ducky’s award - Bella, HLC award - Chloe G.

B Reserve: Firstly, a huge congratulaons to Nic who celebrated her 200th game, an incredible milestone for our club and we look forward to following her success for the next 50! We knew it was going to be a tough bale against an undefeated Pt Mac side. We went out firing knowing that we wanted to get a strong first quarter and score of our own. Ella and Ellen were geng their hands to many intercepts working relessly and Keely and Nic provided great drive and vision into our goalies. We went into the second quarter down by 1 and connued to work hard as the game went goal for goal. At half me a few changes were made and we seen Demi come into the game at WA, Keely go into C and Nic back into WD the score sat at 17-23. Our goal was to apply defensive pressure all over the court which we were able to achieve and with Melita shoong

with ease we managed to get back within a five goal reach. Going into the fourth we found momentum but with a few rushed errors when we had worked hard to get the turnover resulted in some missed opportunies for us to score. Even though we didn’t come away with the win each and every one of you should be proud of our strong four quarters of netball. It was a really posive game, we had trust within ourselves and each other and it was a really good team effort. We have a few tough games ahead so let’s work hard at training to seek the rewards. A big thank you to Zoe for scoring, David for ming, Linda for PC. Awards: Melita (Sommery), Nic (Sassi) and Ella (HS&R). Final score Hath 41 - Pt Mac 48.

B Grade: It wasn’t an ideal start with Liv having to leave the game to be with her partner aer he was injured playing footy To the girls credit they quickly adjusted and played with high intensity and great defensive pressure to take an early lead at the first break. Our dynamic mid court duo in Ali and Kaz were playing with aggression, driving hard to the circle and feeding with precision to Eliza and Ellie who shot with great accuracy in very physical condions. At the other end Marni and George were picking off any loose passes, standing strong and making it hard for the Pt Mac aack. Sarah was also influenal, applying pressure and cover and causing the turnover. Going into the last we had a handy 3 goal buffer but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to hold off a fast finishing Pt Mac, going down by a goal. Although we didn’t come away with the win, everyone should be super proud of their efforts. So many brilliant passages of play and strong netball pung us in good stead come finals me! It was great having Maddie on the bench cheering on the girls while recovering from injury, but sad to see Sarah succumb to a troubling back issue and subbed off for the last quarter. Huge thanks to Melita for sing bench and taking the court in a high pressure last quarter in freezing condions! Loved having PC extraordinaire Nat back from her vacaon, Raels back scoring and we warmly welcomed Zoe ming for us. Awards: Kaz (Hatherleigh Sport & Rec), Ali (Beachport Brewing).

A Reserve: A tussle in the A Reserve, with the end result ending in another draw against Port MacDonnell. Our girls had to adapt to different posions with players out. A big thank you to Hannah and Chloe Bellinger from Under 17s who stepped up and hit the court and did very well given the pressure of the game. Unfortunately, we didn't have the flow and the structure we have been implemenng in our games so far, we did very well to keep going to the end but the pressure was high and turned into some silly mistakes. Our defence did a great job with Maddie and Lucy geng their hands to a few. Hannah Bellinger’s drive out of defence were unstoppable, her ming and speed was great to see. Rosie Nele was a work horse and gave 100% all game. Best players Lucy Corman and Hannah Bellinger

A Grade: A tough day at the office. Whilst our intensity and work rate was there, we struggled to penetrate through the physical presence of our opponents, which caused us to make too many errors. Defensively, we had a solid game, rebounding well and geng our hands to plenty of ball. However, our ability to maintain possession and execute up the court was inconsistent. Thank you to Maddie for sing bench, taking the court and giving us another opon. Awards: Somerset - Demi Vanderhorst, Millicent Chemist - Niah Faulkner & HLC- Erin Watson.

Junior 2: Mini magpies had a great challenge in the cold and wet condions. Grace and Heidi showed great aacking skills, Hannah (Boost award) had many defensive touches and a great game. Harper has improved out of sight and got the Richie Rich award ($5). Ariella, Piper, Evie, Adele all played strongly and smart. It's great to have the leadership show up on the court also. In fact every girl played their posions well and showed great footwork, skills, and improvement. I am very happy with all of the teams and their cung in front and thinking about the space more. Great work team!

Junior 1: Mini magpies played a hard game with our opponents being a quick and tall team. The girls fought hard and showed that height does not maer in this case. Their defensive pressure the whole way down the court allowed our circled defenders to get heaps of turnovers. Our transion worked well and was quick enough to get into our goalies for some shots up. Our goals all shot accurately and worked well geng in front. Well done girls you should be proud of the efforts you put in. Best playersMackenna (Mystery award) and Harper (Boost Juice).

13 & Under: What a cold day but the girls held a ght defence contest all over the court - well done. But we need to come out firing instead of lukewarm. Zara played a well controlled game in centre and placed her self both in defence and aacking posion well to receive ($5 award) and Harper has improved so much this season at WA with her strong ming and give and go receiving the Hat award. Ashley played a zippy game and doesn’t maer where we put her she doesn’t give up just keeps going got the Mars Bar award. Let’s turn it up and connue the smart play and make it easy then hard work.

15 & Under: All 8 players contributed in a solid team effort. Molly was everywhere and got her hands to so many balls. Ava had another great game at both ends of the court through centre. Despite a finger injury, Ella (Emu sports) worked hard to get lots of touches. Emmity (Emu sports) had to play in different posions and adjusted well to all of them. Lucy and Kiersten were solid in goals shoong accurately. Zoe was strong as always and got lots of touches and Lexie used her change in direcon to always be available at WA. Well done girls.

17 & Under: So impressed with the depth of our juniors, it made me feel so proud of the club! With injury and illness 5 15/u players hit the court in 17’s and what a fantasc job they did. Shayden (Emu sportswear) and Georgia (Kirsty Egan award) are really combining well in goals and are so steady for our team. Maya and Ellie connue to get stronger and stronger every week and are a nightmare for any opposion goalies. Molly (even though she was sick) was her usual reliable self. Can’t wait to have Lily and Ash back but know we are in good hands with our support from the

B Reserve: A strong contest showed we would have to win all seven posions on court to be able to come away with the win. When we played controlled netball we were able to create space and convert with ease. Lydia and Deb played ght defence and got their hands to plenty of ball with Emma and Ange always backing them up to gain possession. Ange and Emily worked together to feed the goalies from good angles and creates opons on the circle edge. Jodi and Maddi combined beaufully with movement and screening to give each other the best possibly opportunies. Trin stepped on for us in the last and proved she’s sll got it, geng plenty of touches including the first ball that came near her. Thank you heaps! also thank you to Lydia for filling in for us again, the strength and guidance you provided was incredible. Best players were Lydia (cap) and Maddi (Judy Hill award).

B Grade: A cold and wet game meant we needed to adapt to the condions. We knew that we had a tough game ahead of us and so started strong to finish with a 9 goal lead at the quarter break. Our pressure again through the mid court was excellent, forcing many turnovers. The consistency and paence down our aack end allowed us to work it in and convert. We became a lile hesitant in the second quarter due to the pressure from Tant. We picked up again in the second half and were able to finish strong. Defence again dominated the ring, liming scoring opportunies. A great game with many posives! Emily Mulraney - OK Pie Shop, Jamie RyanEmu Sportswear

A Reserve: Some cold and wet condions in our game but we seled quickly and adapted to the condions. Some great defensive work from Sam, Shanae and Re becoming a very solid defensive unit. Anthea and Soph were paent in aack and allowed for the condions with great feeds and strong drives. Mel was a playmaker in the goal circle combining well with Shayden. Thanks to Maya and Lucy for stepping on and playing with confidence and maturity. On the home stretch now let’s focus on the next few weeks. Best players Shanae Neale - Gambier City, Sam CruteMangos.

A Grade: A great 4 quarters of high intensity netball last week. We knew it would be tough and we stayed composed and worked on our non negoables. Janeo and Jayde fed beaufully again and worked the ball onto the circle and Eb was an absolute focal point and finished off accurately Our defence was nothing but solid, all game their intensity was second to none and the built up pressure gave us our valuable turnovers. Georgia D and Lara combined beaufully in the circle, taking space and rebounding. Georgia G’s work rate and defence off the ball created the pressure to force errors. Let’s keep building! A job well done Pies. Ebony McDiarmidMangos, Georgia Genle - pharmacy award.

Junior 2: First game back aer having a few weeks off and everyone did such a great job! Unfortunately, the game started very cold and wet but the sun quickly started to shine through and it warmed up a lile. Special thanks to Zoe for bringing the hand warmers for the breaks! I am so proud of everyone for connuing to try throughout the game and improving each quarter. We had a few tumbles on the court but Savannah and Adele quickly got up and kept going. Ruby scored us one goal, which was very excited and got lots of claps! We connued trying to make leads in front of our players throughout the game. At training we will focus on throwing the ball in front and making the right choice and throwing to the player that's free. Great game girls! I can't believe there are only four le! Best players to Isabella for a cracking game in defence and taking lots of intercepts and Iva for driving hard in goals and working her way into the circle.

Junior 1: Good game girls in very tricky condions. You should all be very proud coming up against a lot of Under 13 players and baling through the hail! We struggled a lile bit to create space to lead into but you all listened at the breaks and we were able to transion the ball into the circle easier aer the first quarter. You all did a great job to implement the things we worked on at training into the game. It was great to see some beauful changes of direcon to lose our defender. Best player went to Mikayla for working hard to always be an opon in aack and for shoong nearly all of our goals. Second best went to Marlowe for being an opon for defensive throw ins and scking close to her player in defence. Thanks for having me as your fill in coach – you all did a great job! Let's give it our all again this week.

13 & Under: Glencoe 45 defeated Kongorong 16. A very scrappy game with a lot of wayward passes and loose balls although we came away with a comfortable win. We had a great start to the game geng on top of Kongorong early. We need to work on our vision down court and the ming of our leads as it showed with a lot of passes not hing targets. Hallie had a great game in goals and got some great touches at GD earning her best player. Lily was second best and ran all day in the mid court (Paradise Pizza). Charloe earned the encouragement award (Kaboom).

15 & Under: Glencoe 38 lost to Kongorong 49. Not our day on the court last week, while we had some good passages of play we were unable to hold it together for the four quarters. This game showed that two weeks off is a long me in netball. Let's regroup this week, get back on the same page and back to the netball we have been playing all year. Best players were Ella Stewart and Bella Brierley and encouragement Gracie Cary

17 & Under: Glencoe 74 defeated Kongorong 19. Well done girls, great win on a very wet and windy day. Amelie, Emma and Maddie work super hard in defence geng plenty of touches and rebounds. Alyssa, Montana and Sienna moved well in the goal circle. Our mid court of Shae, Mckayla and Jena drove well down the court. Great defensive pressure by everyone which has always been our strength, keep that up! Awesome pressure on the Kongorong aackers at their centre passes by Mckayla, Jena and Maddie. Best players:

B Reserve: Glencoe 21 lost to Kongorong 49. At the beginning of the game we started strong and kept up finishing the quarter even. In the second aer an injury, our intensity and drive dropped off and silly mistakes and passes happened. There was a lack of second efforts and backing each other up seemingly like we didn't want to ball. There were some good examples of ball movement and some accurate shots from our goalies but more oen than not we were not able to capitalise on our rebounds and turnovers from defence. The second half of the game our focus and energy was not there and the margin grew. Let's train hard and finish off our season stronger and more switched on. Best players were Caitlyn, Imogen and Jas.

B Grade: Glencoe 64 defeated Kongorong 24. What a fantasc game girls! Aer a few weeks off we came out firing and didn't let up for the enre game. Bri and Jorja moved with ease in the circle, creang plenty of space and opportunies to score. They fought for every rebound and converted well. Kate provided excellent drive down the court and linked well with Gemma and Sally in the midcourt. Giaan and Kayla combined well in defence and created numerous intercepts and turnovers. Our defensive pressure down the court was very strong and we made it difficult for Kongorong to get the ball in the circle. First best went to Kate and second best to Jorja. It was almost impossible to pick best players and it could have gone to anyone. We need to take this momentum and fantasc game play and keep pushing for the rest of the season!

A Reserve: Glencoe 30 lost to Kongorong 36. Bad luck last week girls. We knew it was going to be a tough one as Kongorong have really found their feet. We had so many pockets of great play but unfortunately we threw too many away and couldn't capitalise on the turnovers we did get. We all know how capable we are of beang each and every team on the ladder so let's not let this shake us but fire us up for a bigger challenge this week!

A Grade: Glencoe 77 defeated Kongorong 31. Congratulaons to our captain Donna on playing 200 senior games. I know you would have loved to stay out there a lile longer but even in the half you set us up with a great lead and fed in well. Really happy to see that the aspects we discussed at training were priorised and implemented into our game. Transion from defence to aack looked really good, parcularly in the first half when we had our seled side. Our defensive pressure was fantasc and we caused plenty of intercept opportunies and turnovers. Great to see Caitlin having a fly for some intercepts out of the circle. Jenna and Chantelle both moved well in the goal circle and complemented the hold and front space. Ashlea really stepped up in the second half and provided plenty of drive. Alice ran hard all game and connues to be a good back up down the court. We took a lile me to adjust to the changes at half me. All we need is to have a lile more confidence in ourselves and know that we can fill any role. Well done to Mckayla for again hing the court for us. Another good team game. Let's have a real crack today

Mckayla Maney, Maddie Bignell and Jena Jagger

Junior 2: The girls played an amazing game at Robe, with the first really wet and windy game of the season. All the girls worked really hard to get the ball down the court and managed to get a few goals. Considering we only had 5 J2 and are grateful for the help of a couple of J1 girls, they all did great. We are super proud of how all the girls played, we know it gets hard for the girls when they aren't able to have a quarter off to rest a lile bit.

13 & Under: The weather gods definitely put it all on for us last week. Rain, hail and shine down at Robe in very cold condions. You all struggled to start with as this was the first game we have played in the rain. But you all kept persisng, adjusng to the condions and kept moving and slowly got beer as the game went on. You all knew to keep moving to keep warm and worked it out in the windy rain that we had to do lots of short passes and cut in front, lobs just weren't on. Hard to not be a scrappy game but we had some great passages of play with some good leading and passing down the court. Definitely a defensive game and our defence worked overme and got so many intercepts and rebounds, then drove hard into aack to give our aackers more opportunies to score. Was great to see us adjust in the last half to front cung in goals and the use of the ring was great well done. Thanks to Leah and Harper for filling in, you both did great. BP award went to Asha for some awesome defence and driving. McDonalds to Tahlia for never giving up and pung lots of pressure on her player. Let's connue on this week everyone.

15 & Under: We travelled to Robe where we faced our first game in wintery condions. In a fiercely contested match Robe rose to the occasion and had a great win. The young Nangwarry side kept fighng unl the end and I'm proud of the effort and resilience they put in. Good luck to Robe for the rest of their season.

17 & Under: Last week was an excellent game from us. We came out strong and fought for the whole game and I couldn't be prouder of the girls. Our full court pressure was fantasc and we were able to get a lot of turnovers through the middle. Our aack end moved the ball and pulled off some incredible plays in the strong wind. Our defence end was again very strong, our rebounding and circle pressure was fantasc. Although we couldn't come away with the win we had a lot of posives to take away from the game and everyone should be proud of how they played. Our best players were Kaitlin Roisseer and Keira Roper

B Reserve: What a great match to watch. The game played in challenging wintery condions. These condions tested the skills and resilience of both teams with the

wind making it tough to put the goal through the net. Robe started the match strong and connued to play a great game in these wintery condions. Nangwarry never gave up and had some great passages of play, but just couldn't convert. Great sportsmanship from both teams and we wish Robe good luck for the rest of the season.

B Grade: We had a number of players unavailable and it was certainly not one of our best games. Thank you to Skye for sing bench and Sonya for playing. Amy played goals instead of defence and scored majority of our goals. I really appreciate the effort and being so willing to change posions. Defenders Chloe and Stevie both had great games creang many turnovers. Let's regroup for this week and hopefully return to playing good netball.

A Reserve: Under challenging weather condions, the team displayed exceponal resilience and teamwork. Despite the adverse weather, we maintained a strong defensive stance and worked hard all over the court. The first quarter was ghtly contested, with both teams showing great determinaon, however we started to fall into bad habits in the second quarter playing behind and not opening up the court to allow our teammates to drive through. Key moments included crucial intercepons and holding strong. Our performance was commendable, Emily played her best game of the year which was a pleasure to watch. The adverse condions highlighted our grit and adaptability. A big shout out now to some of our juniors who are really stepping up and playing some great senior netball, the court me these girls are now geng will be the building blocks for our clubs future. Kaylee played a half in GS and was able to hold her own and moved the ball well around the circle, she played a key role in the first half and should be proud of herself. Skye took to the court in the second half at GS and started strong geng the first 2 goals of the quarter. Skye has a natural ability to read the play and is quite capable of playing numerous posions on the court, and this shows in the way she aacks the ball. Thank you to Keira and Chloe for sing bench.

A Grade: We faced a very fast Robe and there were a many mes we tried to play their game instead of our own. As soon as we slowed things back down to our pace, we were able to score. Great job to our 17s player Scarle who really held her own against polished Robe shooters, you certainly looked like you deserved to be there. I'm so proud of the team you all are. To hear each week from the opposion how nice it is to play against you because of how you all conduct yourselves always brings a smile to my face. Best players Scarle Black and Michelle Richardson.

Junior 2: Aer an unplanned week off and a great training, we came back out with a fire in our bellies! We were a lile out of roune with team photos taking up our warm-up me, but you all quickly adapted to your posions on the court and switched on your netball brains! The first round, we didn't quite have the knowledge or skill to keep up with these guys, but this round, we were ready! There were some excellent demonstraons of our skills we have been working on at training, which helped us to force the opposion to work harder than they needed to score. We showed great defensive pressure, staying on our toes, which gave us the advantage of intercepng the ball, which we were able to score from! Our ming of leads and paence before passing was much beer! Coming up against a tougher team, I'd say we kept up with them! Great work girls. Everyone could have received an award, it was hard to pick! Thanks Pip for stepping on the court for us! Lilly received the Maccas award for excellent defensive pressure, speedy drives in offence but also slowing down the play when needed. Ellie, received the South East Property Sales award - your clean defending skills were an asset, creang many turnovers and your hard drives helped bring the ball down the court with minimal effort. Junior 1: Cold condions last week, but what a game they played as a team. Short & direct passing, dodging & coming in front, plus enormous pressure & many turnovers. Absolute brilliant job by all 9 girls. The Property Co awards went to Daisy - what a game you had at GS. Strong, poised & accurate. Also to Izzy - a different posion at C where you gave it your all, but my favourite is your defence at GD & GK. You read that ball so well & intercept so clean. Well done.

13 & Under: Last week was gonna be a tough game aer round 1 & I'm pleased with how we all have improved since then. It is great hearing comments about individual players & their improvements since the start of the season. We adjusted to quarter changes well without losing consistency. Zahli, Jaycie & Emie put great defence pressure on the goalies using skills we have been working on. Overall we sll need to work on our decision making & ming of leads, but overall a great game played by all. Emie & Renae both received the Canteen Award for their efforts.

15 & Under: We knew it was going to be a tough day - and it was. Undermanned and a couple of players not 100% fit made it an impossible task against a top side. However I was proud of the way you kept plugging away to keep the margin similar to the first round. The first quarter showed glimpses of how far we have come this year and that footwork was well controlled - both strong posives. Awards: Alexis (Tant meal voucher), Rachael (Devine Gis). Once again many thanks to our

three 13's, Liv, Kailee and Emie - all willing to sit bench in freezing condions to support us!

17 & Under: Was great to have a full side again last week. Kaitlyn did a great job slong into GK, with Kailah pung pressure on her player at WD Isla used her posion to get hands to any rebounds. Molly had another great game, pung pressure on the opposing aack line all game and snatching up any loose balls (Ladies Commiee award). Poppy ran well through centre and front cut well to provide opons down court. Demi had great intensity all game and used her voice so well to encourage the team (Ladies Commiee award). Hailey and Bethan worked hard to receive the ball within shoong range and worked well to convert the efforts of the defence. Good effort girls, was great to hear some voice.

B Reserve: Spoke about experimenng in this game - and we did! A shocking start and an impressive come back in the first quarter. Another bad start in the second, unfortunately it lasted 15 minutes. Picked things up a lile in last half but damage was already done. Awards: Holly (Somerset)having a go at the other end of the court! Leah (Dentons Sportspower)also having a crack in another posion. Sally (Devine Gis), Kath and Riley all had solid games.

B Grade: Last weekend was a tough one for us girls and we knew it would be going into the game playing the top side. Kalangadoo are a well polished team and it showed last Saturday. Our girls went out hard and we tried our best but just a few things we sll need to work on and keep trying to improve. Hopefully we can keep working on everything and if we're lucky face them again in the finals.

A Reserve: In mildly beer condions than what we have had the Tigers hosted the Magpies. The first quarter was a very even affair with the score line 11-10. The Tigers pressure all over the court was a massive presence and was concerning for the Magpies, having to reset numerous mes. The defensive end for the Tigers worked relessly and matching what the Magpies were throwing at them. They created numerous turnovers and kept sending it back to the aack line. The rest of the game was up and down, but the Tigers were unable to convert. We improved on the first round oung which was a pleasing result. Best: Dakota HateleySomerset Hotel and Alana FensomTant Club Meal Voucher

A Grade: Unfortunately, a very slow first quarter made it hard from the start. It was pleasing that we managed to claw back the margin in the second with some good passages of play. Plenty to work on in the coming weeks. Great to see Bella slot back aer a number of weeks away Awards - Casey (Heaven on a Hanger), Jami (Tantanoola Club Voucher).

round 14 A GRADE MATCH REviews

Hatherleigh 29 lost to Port MacDonnell 48

In wintery cold condions both sides were eager to take grab the points in round 14. Last me they met it was a ght game with the Demons taking the win by 7 in the end. However this me round the Eagles had a very different looking side.

The first quarter seen the visitors get a quick jump and be the first on the scoreboard with Hatherleigh forced to play catch up early on. The Eagles took some me to sele, but once they did they we’re able to move the ball down court well. There were taccal changes made early on with Harris and Redden, both sides going to the first break 11-12.

The home side connued to make more changes in hope to pull back the lead that the visitors quickly extended. Any high balls were taking in by the Demons defence circle, and any ball not met were also picked off by the Demons which helped them extend their lead. The home side injected Maddie Redman into the game who was a great presence on court and was able to combine with Demi Vanderhorst well. The Eagles defensive circle made the Demons work for every ball but they were sll able to find access to Megan Hein and Kori Collins. Port Mac chased down any lose ball and connued to add to the score board 1625.

The third quarter saw no changes for the Demons and a few more changes for the home side. Demons’ Alannah Berkefeld connued to create turnovers for her side to help them extend their lead. Erin Watson provided the home side with a lot of direcon and drive down the court but she didn’t have it easy as Shannon Schiedl made Watson work hard for every ball. The visitors connued to chip away and convert to extend their lead 22-37.

The last quarter the visitors put their foot down and really extended their lead. The Eagles connued to push, but the visitors were firmly in control. The Eagles defence were able to pick off some balls but we’re unavailable to convert which saw the Demons take the points and the win by 19.

Best players - Hatherleigh: Demi Vanderhorst & Erin Watson; Port MacDonnell: Alisha Coon & Alanna Berkefeld.

Robe 77 defeated Nangwarry 18

First quarter - Nangwarry's defence, led by Richardson (GK) and Stock (GD), provided strong hands in the goal ring with ample rebounds. However, Robe's pressure through a mid-court press created by Regnier and Perkins proved to be relentless. Their consistent feeds into goalies Laurie and Carter allowed Robe to take a commanding lead, finishing the first quarter with a score of 19 to Nangwarry's 4.

Second quarter - Robe made a key transion, with Ash Wachtel coming on into GA, creang space, speed, and presenng well in the goal circle. An injury to Richardson saw a substuon, followed by a taccal adjustment. Robe Regnier capitalised on turnovers in the mid-court, while Nangwarry’s Balshaw (WA) drove hard at the ball, helping to transion the ball to Gray (GS). Despite Nangwarry's efforts, Robe Gould & Jennings’s held up a strong defensive front to help extended their lead, with the half-me score at 33 to Nangwarry's 11.

Third quarter - Robe connued their strong performance with Carter moving into goal shooter (GS). Nangwarry made taccal changes between Stephens (C). Robe’s wind proved to be a tough factor for both teams. Goalies worked hard, but Robe's control over turnovers and drives from Wachtel were significant. An injury to Nangwarry's Circelli further impacted their performance, ending the third quarter at 56 to 13 in favour of Robe.

Final quarter - Robe made further posional changes with Perkins at C, Carter at WA, and Laurie at GS. Nangwarry's determinaon was evident as they managed to get turnovers while the ball was being fed into the Robe goal circle. Despite this, Robe's consistency and defensive turnovers helped them maintain their dominance. The match concluded with Robe securing 77 goals to Nangwarry's 18. Robe's strategic plays, consistent feeding, and capitalising on turnovers were key to their victory, while Nangwarry's defence and determinaon showcased their fighng spirit. Best Players - Robe: Emillie Gould & Alannah Jennings; Nangwarry: Scarle Black & Michelle Richardson.
