Tantanoola Football Club wish to congratulate Jake Bromley who this weekend plays 250 senior games for the Tigers. Jake has been known for his hard nosed, crash and bang style and never takes a backwards step, always holding down key posi ons against much bigger opponents. He is the ul mate team man always pu ng the team’s best interests before his own. 'Bommer' played his juniors at Tigerland winning a Junior Colts premiership in 1997 and in 2002 he was Senior Colts Best First Year Player. 2004 saw him play his 1st senior game while taking home the coaches award in the Senior Colts. 2005 he moved up to the B Grade taking home Best U lity and in 2006 he was lucky enough to win a premiership with his brother Josh in what was a very successful day for the Tantanoola Football Club. Bommer was vice captain in another B Grade premiership in 2014 and 2015 was once again vice captain of the B Grade who had a 3 point loss in the prelim final claiming the Most Consistent trophy at seasons end. In 2016 he played in yet another B Grade premiership. Jake was promoted to the A Grade in 2017 having a strong season winning the Neil Von Duve Best Team Man trophy and played his 200th in the last game of the season. In 2021 Bommer took home the B Grade coaches trophy as well as the Barry Linton Award. Playing a big part in the future of our club, Jake coached the Under 11's for a couple of seasons before moving up to cocoach the Junior Colts this season. The Tantanoola Football and Netball Club together with wife Kristy, children Kobe and Lidia, and family and friends wish him all the best for his milestone game. Image courtesy Ange Osborne

tyson mcgrath tantanoola football club
This weekend vs Port MacDonnell, Tyson 'Pidge' McGrath takes the field for his 200th senior game in the red and white. A player who can be thrown in any posi on on the ground and has an uncanny knack of finding the footy, has also been used as a tagger with great success and o en shut down the prime movers from the opposi on. Pidge came to the club as a senior colt and was a part of the premiership in 2006 taking home the Coaches trophy. A strong showing in the colts earned him 3 games in the A Grade in what was to be the 1st premiership side in 20 years. From 2009 he was a regular in the A Grade team winning the Coaches trophy in 2011. In 2013 Pidge won A Grade Best U lity and was also the runner for the B Grade premiership side. In 2014 Pidge played in the A Grade grand final team before taking off to do some travelling. In 2016 he had a fantas c season playing in the B Grade premiership and winning the club Best and Fairest. 2018 had Pidge winning Runner Up Best and Fairest and last season once again took out the Best and Fairest. Tantanoola Football and Netball Club would like to congratulate Pidge on his 200th game and wish him all the best for the rest of the season. Image courtesy Steve Chapple

Junior Colts: Once again we were undersized against a big and powerful Nangwarry team. But like results from week's past, size doesn't seem to scare off our small team. Tenacious tackling was a feature of our game. Led by Max Monaghan and Jesse Dekoning, the kids didn't give up all day. Unfortunately the score didn't reflect the hard work and effort put in. Under 11: Last week's Mini's game saw a clash of the cousins with Frank and Leo Mules going head to head with the Manninen boys! It was another solid performance by the under 11's. Every week the groups is learning more and more about football! They are all developing at a rapid rate. The future looks well and truly bright for Kalangadoo, with 30 kids taking part last week.
Senior Colts: The 17s notched up their 3rd win for the season. The supercoach Tommy was away due to illness. I'm sure with sustained

hard work and playing more games together, more results will come. Con nue to strive for finals! Reserves: Nangwarry came out to play in the 1st half, they were hard, clean and wanted the ball. Kalangadoo had one of their most inexperienced teams in recent years on the park. Lucky enough our "old heads" se led the game down and ran out victors by a comfortable 123 points. Cult figures Bogwash and Durbs came in for his 3rd and 1st game for the year. Sco y con nued to dominate with 12 snags, 12 to go un l 100! Seniors: We started last week with 5 or 6 starters away. It was really pleasing to see the club’s outstanding depth as we kicked 36 goals. Charlie Box came in for his 1st senior game and rucked well for most of the day. He competed hard all game and did not miss a beat. Starky was pleased with how the boys moved the ball last week, looking laterally and punching our switches were key focuses heading into the game. Both of which were executed really well. Once again well done to Pat Davies who made the State Country side! Go Maggies!

Junior Colts: Last week was the last chance we had at the poten al of playing finals this year for the Junior Colts. A er a strong Thursday night training I was confident that we could push the 3rd place Port Mac all the way. We started the game quite well holding them to only 2 goals in the first quarter with them kicking with a fairly strong breeze. In the second term we couldn’t convert our opportuni es with the wind with us only kicking the one goal. The third was much the same as the first with Port Mac missing easy opportuni es to take the game out of our reach. This le us with a 3 goal deficit going into the last quarter with a strong breeze. Unfortunately Port Mac came out firing in the last kicking a goal of their own into the wind and us only managing one ourselves. A few upset boys in the rooms a erwards knowing that we would not be taking part in any finals this year. We will con nue to try and improve and get the most out of the rest of the year. Senior Colts: As I told the boys a er the game, it wasn’t the best game I’ve watched. In cold, windy, wet condi ons the lads slogged it out against an undermanned Port Mac side. Credit to Port Mac, they started well and kicked the first goal. Our endeavour and effort got off to a slow start, however once we flicked the switch we were able to start having shots on goal more regularly. Keeping the Bay scoreless a er quarter me, we were able to get away with an 81 point win. Best players were Hudson Peel, Kaiden Carter, Cooper Thomas, Flynn Peel and Joel Bryant. Major goal scorers were Codee Weston 3, Joel Bryant 2 and Hudson Peel 2. Adventurous Spoon Player Incen ve went to Cameron Gibbons and the Steve’s Place Player Incen ve to Riley Sutherland. Reserves: Last week we played Port Mac at home, it was good to get the win on the board. We were yet again short with numbers but right at the end we managed to get a team on the field. The boys played well and came away with the win. The best players on the day were Ant Kokiousis, Simon Ferguson, Tristan Chincarini, Elroy Samuels, Tom Emery and James Kokiousis. This week will be a big game against Kalangadoo away. A Grade: Last week we took on Port MacDonnell back on our home deck with our season on the line and needing a win to stay in finals

conten on. Last me we lined up against Port Mac, we came away with a gutsy win by just a few points at the bay. It was a physical game and the second encounter wasn't any different. Port Mac are a physical and tough side and we would need to pull out all of the stops to get the victory. The wind was heavily favouring the golf course end which would provide a dis nct advantage. The game was physical right from the outset with both teams crashing into the contest. We had the wind in the first but weren't able to capitalise on the scoreboard going into the quarter me break an even 7 points each. It was now Port Mac’s turn to u lise the wind in the second. They started to gain dominance out of the midfield kicking 4 goals for the quarter. The Robe back man never gave up with Jasper Barri providing plenty of run off half back. We were s ll in the hunt with plenty of ball but were inaccurate kicking into the breeze, kicking 1 goal 3 points. We went into the half me break down by 16 points. Having the breeze a er half me, we set our sights at a comeback. Samuel Clements for us was silky as ever and hard to catch in the midfield. With a couple of early goals, we looked to be charging towards the lead. Young Flynn Peel played a courageous and touch game out on the wing and never took a backwards step. Port Mac also found it difficult to kick straight into the breeze and kicked only 1 goal and 4 points. We went into the last break only 14 points down. Both teams again came out firing and we managed to snag the first goal again looking like taking the game from the visitors but it wasn't to be. Port Mac started to penetrate their forward 50 with ease as the game broke open and they kicked 5 goals 5 points in the last. The Robe boys ba led hard all day and weren't far off the pace for the first 3 quarters. We also had our 1987 A Grade and Junior Colts premiers at the club for the 35-year reunion. A great day and night reminiscing was had by all. Well done to Chris McLay for pulling it all together and leaving no stone unturned in his search for past players. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the win for the past players but the moral was high around the club with everyone s cking together. Win lose or draw we are s ll the red and white family. This week we take on the formidable Kalangadoo on their home deck.

Junior Colts: Last game we headed down to Kalangadoo for a hard fought game. Thank you to Kalangadoo for lending us a couple of players so we could have a game. Our boys played well, we started off by rushing our kicks in the first five minutes of the game but se led a er that and played a really strong game and linked up with our players and drove the ball forward. We had a first player play her first game for us in young Isabelle. For her first game she played really well pu ng her head over the ball and ge ng a few touches up forward. Best players for us were Levi Thiele, Deklan Brant, Reed Gardiner, Logan Carr, Eli Green, Heath Johnston. We look forward to another challenge a er the bye. Cheers Tom Senior Colts: Last game we came up against the 5th placed Kalangadoo who gave us a real challenge for three quarters un l the boys broke away in the last quarter for a good win. Best players were Kallan Bevan who lead the side well finishing with 6 goals. Callum Sparkes worked hard in ruck all day. Brady Sharp presented hard all game at CHF. Brock Sandow was solid down back stopping plenty of goals and Trey Norton Li le ran hard all day and put his body on the line. B Grade: A er a great win against Port Mac before the bye we were looking forward to our match against Kalangadoo to see how much progress we had made since

the last me we played them. Unfortunately at half me we were 14 goals down and hadn’t really looked like scoring. Despite playing with only 1 on the bench and with one of our best players out of the game with concussion, we fought much harder in the second half, restric ng the goals against us and scoring 3 ourselves before the final siren went. Best player was Je Bowering who ran all day and scored a sensa onal goal. Other top performers were Zac Gray, Shawn Evans, Noah Telfer and Frazer Johnson. Special men on to Sam Bell for scoring his first goal for the club and Humma who scored his first senior goal and played well all game. A Grade: Hats off to a strong Kalangadoo ou it who played some excellent football against us. A very hard team to beat. Some posi ves for us though in small patches where we were able to get some good link up football happening but overall it was Kalangadoo’s day. Best for the day were Knife, Smithy, Sam Wallis, Josh Wallis, Tay and Ninja. A big thank you to all involved in 2022's Wine & Dine Night. The place looked fantas c, the food was great and the music was awesome. Think it’s safe to say everyone had fun, well done again to all involved! On to the bye, rest up and look forward to seeing you all back at Mt Burr! Go Burr.

I would like to thank everyone who a ended the auc on night. It was another successful night with lots of funds raised. Some personal thanks must go to the two auc oneers Ethan Bronca and Ma Burdon who once again done a fabulous job. Baldy who cooked the meat did an amazing job, Jenny Dinnison and her team in the kitchen who served up the meal, cooked the veg and cleaned up. Karen Ploenges for dona ng the soup. Celeste Raymond and Steve Ross for helping me obtain the amazing dona ons to be auc oned off. Teresa Stewart for her efforts making sure it was all organised and helping the auc oneers. All the businesses who donated big or small - every dollar counts! The members, players and supporters who got a cket for a meal, this too contributed to funds raised. And finally to everyone who dug deep and spent money that goes towards our great club.
This week's sponsors are the Sign Depot. The Sign Depot is a new Mount Gambier based business offering signwri ng and commercial print solu ons. Under 11: Exci ng day for the under 11s started really strong and ran well with the K’doo kids. Took a bit to get going but once we started a acking the footy and crashing contests we looked the goods. Can never fault the kids’ effort and excitement levels on the day, some really good footy played and plenty to be posi ve about. Junior Colts: The Junior Colts got the day off to a great start with a comfortable win. We didn't start the game off the way we wanted but se led late in the 1st quarter. We started to play some be er team football in the 2nd quarter to ck the scoreboard over. In the 3rd we swapped some players around and

we got a bit undisciplined and complacent in some areas, par cularly defending. We finished off the last quarter playing be er to have a good win. It was good to be able to help out and loan a few players to K'doo as clubs have helped us out with this throughout the year. Best players were Calais, Tayte, Harvey, Josh, Blake and Benne . Senior Colts: Unfortunately it seems to be the same story every week for us in regards to slow starts, by quarter me Kalangadoo had 7 goals and the game was over! It is disappoin ng that far too much is done by too few. With 2 games to go to finish the season I hope to get back to applying a whole lot more pressure to our opponents! Best players Peter, Benne , Archer, Ty, Taj and Noah. B Grade: Well we came up against a very good side but to the boys’ credit they played four hard quarters of football. Well done to Nathan when he went into the ruck in the last quarter. Thanks to the two senior colts for filling in (Pete & Taj). With two games to go let's get out on the track, train hard, get two wins to finish off. Best: Sco , Hoody, Craig, Bailey, Chappo, Hayden. Goals: Jordan 1. Congratula ons to Joe on playing his first game for the club. A Grade: Our 1st and 3rd quarter showed that we are capable of playing a good brand of football. However, errors in the fundamentals prevent us from doing it consistently over 4 quarters. We are young and we con nue to work hard for improvement in these areas. Kalangadoo are a powerful evenly balanced side and will take some stopping as they approach the finals. To keep them to their 3rd lowest victory margin for the year we, as a group, can take a lot out of this. Best players: Isaac Raymond, Joel Virtanen, Logan Gibbs, Brayden Kelly, Benjamin Deamer, Archer Virtanen and Trent Badman with goal kickers being Andy Hyland 3, Joel Virtanen 2 and Arron Heron. Today we take on Mt Burr. With only 2 games remaining we are commi ed to strive for another win before the seasons end.

B Grade: A er finally salu ng the judges for the first me, a very elated and relieved B Grade side headed to the other seaside village of Robe for the round 15 game. As per normal, the reserves side had their weekly 8-10 changes, however in a posi ve note we didn't have to register any new players. A er winning the toss and kicking with the wind in the hope of ge ng a fast start, the boys didn't respond as well as the coach had of hoped but managed to take a very slender lead into the first break. In the next 2 quarters Robe managed to turn the deficit around into a small lead and unfortunately for us in the last quarter they took hold of the game to take out a very nice win. Great result for them as they were seen recrui ng in the canteen and cars right up un l game me. Best for the week were Tyreese Newton,
Fraser Lynch, Benjamin Newton, Christopher Driver, Caleb Catena. A Grade: A er ge ng back on the winners list against an ever-improving Nangwarry, the senior team headed to Robe for a must win game to help consolidate a place in the finals. Every game is important from here, but this was especially important due to Robe’s posi on on the ladder. The first 2 quarters were a tough low scoring affair but at the half me break the senior boys managed to hold a nice lead. In the second half the boys managed the lead well and when into the wind and when they had the advantage of the scoring end they kicked away to take a nice win. Best for the week were Kyall McClean, Rhys Timms, Alex Ridding, Kev Thomson, Ethan Gladman, William Macdonald.

Today we congratulate Jake Bromley and Tyson McGrath on their 250 and 200 milestone games for Tantanoola, we wish you all the best for the match. Tonight presenta ons will be held at The Federal Hotel in Mt Gambier who have come on board as a sponsor. It would be great to see people stopping in for a drink and/or a meal and support one of our valued sponsors. Some dates to remember for the rest of the season: Junior Presenta on – Sunday 11th September (a er Prelim Final) Senior Presenta on date hasn't been set as yet. Under 11: Seems every me we play Kongorong the wind decides to arrive to make things challenging for the kids. We tossed a coin and lost the toss so kicked into the wind for the first two periods. The kids worked hard together to try and work the ball forward and kept charging in strong at the contests with bodies flying around. We kicked with the wind in the last and the kids found it a bit easier to get scores on the board. Awards went to Jobe, Asher, Caleb and Oliver. Big thanks to Alec Roberts and the few A Grade players who took the kids for training Thursday night they loved it. Junior Colts: Last week against Kongorong our very young side came up against a strong and much bigger side full of top age boys. Although the scoreboard didn't show it our boys ba led hard and played their best game of team football for the year. Eli earned best on ground leading from the front taking a lot of intercept marks. Charlie Bromley played his best ever game of footy pu ng his head over the footy and chasing and laying some brilliant tackles. Jake, Kobe and Hunts were the other best players. I was super proud of how the boys and girl played as a team and kept the pressure on all day, they are all improving and we are heading in the right direc on. Keep working and keep ya heads up and s ck together for the years to come. Senior Colts: I coach my team to respect themselves and to respect the opposi on and that is exactly

what we did last Saturday against Kongorong. We came off the oval with our heads held high and we believe we were the be er team on the day. We concentrated on only the things we could control and played hard fair football. We worked hard for each other and not once did we shirk an issue. Well played lads, Tantanoola is very proud of you. Keep up the great work. The five lads that stood out slightly more than the others were Ryan Simmons, Braydn Hateley, Sam Simmons, Kaden Bell and Jack Cytrowski. I'm very proud of the young men you are becoming, you are the future of our club - be proud of yourselves. Regards Mike Reilly. Very proud coach of a fantas c team of young men. Reserves: Cold windy day met us at home as the reserves faced off against Kongorong on Saturday. Not much in it with a lot of hard football played before we found our groove and kept the pressure on to keep the scoreboard cking over and eventually come away with the win. A solid team game with everyone doing their part. Best on ground for us was Tyson McGrath with his intensity around the ball and smarts to set up goals. Other best players were Blake Bowman, Nick Cory, Chris McCallum and Ma Nelson. A Grade: G'day everyone, last week we hosted the Kongorong Hawks. With a few key players s ll out we knew we were in for a fight. The Hawks countered with the wind with 3 early quarter goals. Once we kicked a couple back in the second, the Hawks con nued to pop a couple goals on the board. With young players stepping up and seniors playing with niggling injuries the only thing we knew we had to play for was our self respect and finish the game with heads high with sign of good play, behaviour and improvement. With the Hawks running away with the game in the end there were plenty of good signs of our juniors ge ng more confident playing senior football. www.tantanoolafootballclub. spor ngpulse.net Find us on Facebook: Tantanoola Football and Netball Club

This week we welcome all past players to the home of the Hawks, along with some premiership reunions, most notably the 1972 A Grade Premiership Reunion, we hope everyone has an enjoyable day. Last week was our social event of the year 'Coola Cup', and once again Brad Long and Emily Lightbody did an excep onal job coordina ng the event, it was great to see everyone support it and have a great me. Again a massive thank you to the Ellis families for the use of the woolshed to hold the event, a unique venue that adds to the ambience, which in turn creates a fun me for all. A chilly day down at Tant with everyone grateful for Jo's coffee van! Games/awards went as follows: Under 11: The kids played their best game for the season. All the hard work at trainings over the past couple of weeks has paid off. They held their marks and their kicks were direct to their team mates, which resulted in some really good passages of play and goals scored. Awards: Intersport Mason Galpin, Graham & Ange Award - Havvi Beard, Angelino Family Award - Sam McInnes, Coaches Award Charlie Lasle , Club Award - Mitchell Bowering, Donut King - Brody Stephens. Junior Colts: Was good to have some sunshine as we headed down the road to take on the young and developing Tigers ou it. With some windy blustery condi ons, it was always going to make for a tough game for our young Hawks but once again our midfield group hit the ground running and got off to a flying start. Much to the credit of the young Tant side they ba led hard for the 4 quarters and defended well but the weight of numbers and size overall ended up proving the difference. Once again, our backline held fast keeping Tant scoreless and this allowed us to rotate many players around the ground throughout the game to give some of the backline players some me up forward and in different posi ons. Was hard to get the ball through the big s cks during the 4 quarters with several hi ng the post making our “Dancing Goal Umpire” in Sco y Page work hard, but with the ball spending the majority of the game in our forward half, it allowed us to kick a decent score, some goal kicking prac ce might be on the cards at training this
week. Best players and awards went to Jobe Janeway - Rarcoola Structural Award, Declan Richardson - Rocks Shop Award, Harrison Elletson - SpotOn Fishing Award, Rhys Newton Mick Mullan Award, Blake Telford Coaches Award, Zayne Parsons Janeway Plumbing Award. A tough couple of weeks coming up to finish off the home and away season, star ng with a very well drilled and tough Hatherleigh side in our last game for the year on our home deck. Senior Colts: A solid four quarter effort, and a few boys back in the side, saw the boys take out a big win. Awards: Brodie Von Stanke-Dowie Ma hews Petroleum Award, Campbell Graney - MT Wheels, Tyler Richardson - Swallow Drive Meats, Cohen Janeway - Mick Mullan Award, Mackye Baron - Coaches Award and Maverick Cooper - Badenoch's Deli Award. Reserves: One of the most disappoin ng efforts of our season, in a game that had so much riding on it. Full credit to Tantanoola who outworked, outsmarted and outplayed us in every facet of the game. We will have to pick ourselves up and fight hard in the coming weeks if we want to be part of the best part of the year. Declan Robinson was great all day for the Commercial Hotel Award, Wayne A will stood up at both ends of the ground to take the Collins Court Butchers Award, Dan Hann got the first Club Tea Award, Ma Maidment the Pick Avenue Deli and Sean Farrell the second Club Tea Award. Great work to the other 3 grades on excellent wins. Seniors: The boys are star ng to come into their own with their run and carry game and it has been good to get the starts how we want. We played a good four quarter game, s ll with the odd lapse in between, but made up for it with a convincing win. Awards: Mick Waters - Bellum Hotel Award, Je A ard - Commercial Hotel Award, Ma Cordy - Collins Court Butcher Award, Corben O'Dea Commercial Hotel Award, Kouta Lightbody and Brad Long Club Tea Awards. Good luck to all teams against Hatherleigh this week, next week we have our final minor round game v Glencoe, where we head back to the club a er the main game for 'Kongchella'.

A Grade: Last week we took on Glencoe on our home deck a er a couple of weeks off. The game started off quick and physical with some quick ball movement from both sides it was close all day. Unfortunately we didn't make the most of our opportuni es in front of goal which in the end cost us as we went down by two goals. Brad Mitchell led the way up forward with 3 goals while Joe Rayson, Jordy Galpin and Je Faulkner ba led all day with second and third efforts. This weekend we head down to Kongorong. Go Eagles! B Grade: Well a er 2 weeks off we were back into it against Glencoe. We knew they were going to put up a fight as they have been playing some good football, and they brought the heat in the first quarter. With a fair breeze from the club rooms end we kept them scoreless in the first and managed to kick the opening 3 goals into the wind. With the coach ge ng us off to the perfect start with the opening goal. We ended up star ng to open the game up and play our style of football using our runners and team first football. Jase Bateman had another cracking game having the pill on a string to finish first best. Todd Wa o played a different role in the ruck and around the ground to take out second best. Young Saucey Brown had another good day, kicking 4 and enjoying his football to be third best. Jack Altschwager had a good day swapping in the ruck to take out fourth and the skipper is in sensa onal form and playing brilliantly at the moment to round them out. Also good to see Jake Wight making a successful return to senior football. Hopefully we can really start hi ng our straps in the next few weeks leading up to finals.

Senior Colts: Last week we took on Glencoe back at the nest. The boys were revved up and ready to go a er having two weeks off due to byes. Going up against an undermanned Glencoe team, this gave us an opportunity to even things up and make a good game out of it. We threw some of our be er players over to Glencoe and they provided some strong compe on, as did the Murphy boys. We started the first quarter off kicking a quick 8 goals to their 0. The rest of the game panned out in the same manner. Our be er players for the day were Harvey Jones, boo ng another 7 goals. Harv kicked 5 in the first quarter as full forward, then got put in the backline and managed to kicked another two from there. Je Faulkner provided his usual run and skill. Jack Bellinger was solid down back when he played for Glencoe in the first quarter, then when he came back over he provided a lot for us up forward. Blake Werchon and Ricardo Amaro Da Silva played well through the midfield all day. We look forward to going to Kongorong this week to play the Hawks. Junior Colts: Unfortunately we couldn't get the job done against Glencoe last week. A er a couple weeks off we had a slow start to the game trailing by 3 goals at the first break. We fought back hard and were much more compe ve around the ground only conceding the 1 goal for the second, third and fourth quarter. Young Coop Walters hit the score board with a goal for us in the 3rd but unfortunately we couldn't quite get through the Glencoe defence to hit the score board more. Over all happy with the teams effort with a few missing players due to illness everyone stepped up and gave it there best against a good side in Glencoe.

nangwarry netball club
Demi comes from a strong Tarpeena spor ng family. She was always going to play netball and she started her netball career with Tarpeena Netball Club through the juniors. She joined South for a few years then once out of juniors came to the Nangwarry Netball Club in 2014 to join her sister Kayla who was already playing for the club. During her me at Nangwarry, Demi has been lucky enough to play and win a B Grade premiership in 2015, won some individual accolades at Nangwarry and has also played in the A and A Reserve teams in the past. She also got the opportunity to play with her sister Kayla and this was a highlight for her. Demi had some me off netball with travel and star ng her own business, but when we were short this season with injuries she joined the A Reserve team halfway through the season to help us out. Demi has always been a good club person and will contribute in anyway she can around the club, when asked. You will also see Demi pu ng her hand up to umpire and help other teams with scoring or ming. Demi always supports social events at the club most weekends. Although Demi didn't start her career at Nangwarry, she loves the club likes she’s been there her whole life and has made a lot of life-long friends. Demi is always a ray of sunshine, a posi ve, happy person who everyone loves. Demi's love of netball is inherited, her mother Donna Gray lived and breathed netball and this is where her girls’ passion for the sport has come from and they o en say their role model, was their mum. Being from a big spor ng family, Demi every week has a great supporter base with her dad Andy, husband Jayden and the rest of her family there every week to watch her. Demi we are so glad you decided to come back and join us and we are sure you will play many more games yet for Nangwarry Netball Club. Nangwarry Netball Club congratulates Demi on her 100 senior games.

Stacey is a valued club person who is a commi ee member, umpire, scorer, mer and has coached our Junior 2 and B Grade sides. She always puts her hand up when the need arises. Stacey is our “go to girl” always “filling in” for umpiring (most weeks), suppor ng our young coaches to have courts set up for home games and volunteering with many commi ee jobs. She is on the MBUFNC social club, helping organise func ons and enjoying each event that she a ends. The Lowndes family are dedicated to the club with husband Henry helping with the B Grade footy over the years and daughters Holly and Emily also in the “green and gold” in our 13 & Under and Junior 1 sides. A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW - ROUND 16 Kalangadoo v Robe Kalangadoo are set to host Robe this weekend in what will likely be a close game. Robe's strength in the goal circle through Halle Carter and Sarah Laurie will mean that Kalangadoo's defenders, Reanna Wetherall and Lauren Kain, will have to work over me to shut down their influence. Down the other end of the court Abbey Duncan and Kori Collins combine well and shoot with accuracy and are fed well from outside the circle by Jayde Peacock and Kirsty Egan. The match up of Lucy Perkins and Sophie Wrightson on the wing will be one to watch, with both figh ng for every ball. A er a tough game Kalangadoo will come away with the win again, however Robe will not go down without a fight.
Mount Burr v Nangwarry The Saints head to Mount Burr this weekend to face off against the Mozzies. The defensive combina on of Madi Hagge and Olivia Dean has proven to be a formidable force this season, and they will put the pressure on for Tahlia Wilson and Ange Pra . Nangwarry's Kylie Heaver works hard for every possession and feeds into the circle with ease. The tussle down the court between Hayley Burner and Laura Schultz through the centre will be one to watch, with both players figh ng for every pass and chasing any loose balls. Mount Burr's Ebony Clark and Zoe Brown combine well in the goal circle, and Nangwarry's defenders will have to work hard to shut them down. Mount Burr will finish the day with the points.
Port MacDonnell v Tantanoola The Tigers and the Demons are set to face off in the match of the round this weekend and a er a close game in round six Tantanoola will be looking for redemp on. Tantanoola's Casey Walker and Madi Kelly will feed accurately into Emma Gould and Jami Walker in the circle, however Port MacDonnell's defenders Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine will put the pressure on, making them earn every goal. The experience and accuracy of Toni Gilmore paired with Brooke Williams in the goal circle will leave minimal opportuni es for Tant's defenders. Both of these teams will be figh ng for the win, chasing any loose balls and figh ng hard for any poten al rebounds. This game has the poten al to go either way, with each team figh ng for the points.
Kongorong v Hatherleigh The Eagles head down to Kongorong on Saturday to face off against the young Hawks team. Hatherleigh's defensive combina on of Demi Vanderhorst, Lara MacGregor and Chelsea Galpin has proven to be difficult for their opposi on to move the ball through and into the circle. Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey combine well in the goal circle for the Hawks, and both shoot with accuracy. Kongorong's height in their defensive line through Emily Lightbody and Riley Buckingham will make it hard for Hatherleigh's Tegan Telfer and Erin Watson to feed into the goal circle, crea ng possible turnovers inside the circle. The added pressure of Lynley Page on the circle edge will also create more pressure on the feeding, however Hatherleigh's a ack line will rise to the challenge. A er a tough ba le all down the court, Hatherleigh will come away with the win.

NETball club notes Junior 2: What a great game had by all our mini magpies! A lot more flow and crea ng space, and the defence pressure was spot on. Best on could have gone to anyone, but Tahlia was an obvious ck, for her amazing improvements in defence. Elana for s cking out half a game, and li le Hannah for her second game with great energy and effort. Gracie was back and boy she was really back, this li le star is someone to watch out for in the coming years. Olivia and Adele both showed their many skills and strengths bringing it down the court, and Willow was comfortable in the a ack line and then finishing at centre. Ariella started direc ng play at GA and GK with a massive improvement in defence. These mini magpies are seriously blowing me away with their improvement and skills. The future is looking very bright, out at the Doo. Junior 1: All the girls turned up in a big way last cold Saturday morning. The girls did a fabulous job with passing and shoo ng. I was very impressed with Ella and how she adjusted from the previous week. I'm constantly surprised about how speedy our team are and all the quick decisions being made. Can't wait for the next few weeks to see what improvements can be made before the end of the season. 13 & Under: I don't think the final score reflected how hard the Nangwarry girls made our players work. There are certainly s ll some flaws we need to work on. Ma lda played a ripper at GK (and also in 15's) - a posi on that seldom gets the accolades it deserves - and was best on court in Emily and my opinion. She was well supported by the everreliable Molly. Kiersten (Fasta Pasta) managed a couple of moves we had prac ced, even though she was unaware of the fact! Emmity received the Kaboom award and Lexi the Devine Gi s award. 15 & Under: Great job girls! You all played a great game in every posi on. With the different posi onal changes, everyone adapted well and tried their best. With having Gabby and Chloe in defence, it allowed for some great pressure to cause turnovers. Then Georgia and Molly playing goals who played very well with their shoo ng! Kiera did great playing a new posi on in WA which allowed her to get best player and Molly ge ng best player too with her giving her all in every posi on she got put into. Tegan demonstrated strength and front cu ng in both GA and C. Thank you to Lucy, and Ma lda for filling in you guys slo ed in perfectly. Thank you also too Molly P for si ng on our bench. You all should be proud of yourselves! 17 & Under: Great work guys, and a full team - what a treat for us! So many posi ve points to take from this game. Kori and Allara (Terry White Chemist) worked well in goals together, with Allara finding endless space and finishing off accurately. Soph and Jenna fed the goalies with
NETball club notes great pa ence and some very clever passing. Savannah, Eb and Ab (Paradise Pizzas) worked over me in defence, with Ab coming from nowhere all game to take countless intercepts. Thank you to Gabby and Tegan for si ng on the bench last week. Let's keep the momentum of the past couple of weeks going! B Reserve: Was pleased we could “try a few different things” in this game and I think it was helpful. Jodi (Collins Court award) scored a remarkable 72 goals but must make men on of her partners, Sam and Relle who made sure she was the one to shoot at every opportunity! Not to men on Angie, Chelsea (Boost award) and Emma (never seen someone as excited to have a run in centre!) who all passed into the circle well. Also pleased with whole defence line of Emma S, Emma M and Gem (Devine Gi s) - to restrict opposi on to so few opportuni es was well done. B Grade: Everyone was determined and went out there ready to go and we were off to a fantas c start. Imo went down and it took us a li le while to regroup and get going again and we were able to have a strong finish in the end which will set us up for the tough games that we have to finish the season. Thank you to Chelsea and Narelle for si ng bench and playing for us. Steph had an outstanding game in defence taking lots of intercepts and crea ng mul ple turnovers that we were able to reward. Gina had a great game using all of the skills and work we have been doing throughout the season. Meg ran a great game throughout the mid court and 2 quarters in centre. We wish our Mrs Captain a speedy recovery. A Reserve: We had a strong start against a consistent Nangwarry team. Only being up by 1 at the end of the first made us work even harder in the second quarter and the defenders adapted well to make the most of any mistakes made in Nangwarry's goal circle. Maddy and Estella were consistent all game and rewarded every opportunity they had. Jamie, Lucy and Zoe all fed well from the edge of the circle. It's nice to have the versa lity of our juniors and as well as Lucy being very adaptable in circle defence. We have a couple of solid weeks ahead and some strong opposi on to come up against so let's really consolidate and keep focused on finals. A Grade: Another game down... well done to the a ackers who were crea ve and pa ent in a ack. Kori provided a strong target in the goal circle and Re became the new Loz. Was great to see Sophie's hard work and effort create turnovers and her a acking support was valuable. A huge thank you to Shan and Maddy for si ng bench and our extremely helpful manager Jane for your support in freezing condi ons. Awards: Re (RSL) and Kirsty (Shelton’s Butcher).
Junior 2: A fantas c game last week. We really focused on footwork and eyes up at training and again they are working so hard to put it into play on the weekends. The improvement in all parts of the game are really showing. Looking forward to this week’s game to watch them really shine. Incen ve went to Edie Bates for an incredible game in defence. She's star ng to read the play and thinking about where the next pass might be. Ge ng some amazing intercepts too. Well done Edie! Junior 1: Quiet honestly the best game these girls have played! A er a very good training session, and some hard work on leading and making space. The munchkins really put their newfound skills to work! I am overly impressed on how hard they kept up to a very tall, very put together Port Mac! Henna came away with the coaches cash a er giving her all and listening to all advice given! Wherever she needed to be, she was! I am overly impressed with the improvement of my young Roosters and can't wait for this week's game! 13 & Under: Robe 17 Pt Mac 46. Unfortunately, we didn't get the win last week. Port Mac are a quality side who have very fine skills. Last me we met at Port Mac the girls struggled to understand that it is a learning curve and prac ce makes perfect - they dropped their heads and played individual games instead of a team game. This me round, we worked on what we are good at and agreed that we were there to learn and play our best instead of dropping our heads. They also worked out that it's be er to play a team game than an individual game. Best player (Union Café) went to Kaitley for her consistency and fight all game. Incen ve (Salubrious Smoothies) went to Olivia for giving 100% all game on some very talented goalies. 15 & Under: Robe 40 Pt Mac 26. Great team game girls. Everyone worked hard in each posi on and it got us the win. We all kept the intensity up and proved we can play good netball. All of you should be proud of yourselves and your a tudes towards our team, with some only ge ng a quarter and s ll being a good team member and playing your role. These are lessons that will only make you all stronger as players and teammates. Let's get behind one another and work towards staying in the top 4. Best player (Union Café) went to Stella for her awesome defensive game at GK, rebounding and going for those balls. Incen ve (Salubrious Smoothies) went to Ella for her great leading and pa ence in passing. 17 & Under: Robe 36 Pt Mac 57. The ba le of the bays. We now stand equal with a win and a loss. A game which could have been ours. A few misjudgements and second guessing our own game is where we went wrong. We can never assume our pass will make it unless we push it, we can never assume we will get the ball unless we meet it and we definitely can never assume the game is over before that final whistle sounds. This was a good adjustment for us coming into the final weeks of the round before finals. Let's refocus for the next couple games. Start playing our game again - we have so much confidence in each of you! Our team can do these games, we can be be er! Best player (Pure Luxe) went to
Hayley who had a great game with strong defensive pressure. Lexy earnt incen ve (Loaves & Fishes) with a stellar game in defence, covering her girl and forcing many errors for turnovers. We had some terrific passages of play. Fitness is our main area- to keep the intensity for the whole quarter. This is our goal. On to K'Doo - let's reset and start a new. B Reserve: Robe 24 Pt Mac 62. Great effort. At the end of the 3rd the score was 23 to 45, admirable against a top 3 side. We aimed for effort, persistence and commitment and it really showed. Our defence had it tough against such tall goalies, but they played a gutsy game and did all they could plus a bit more. Top game Billie and Mandz (Incen ve, Loaves & Fishes). Cass played her best game yet (Calcu a, Steve's Place) and Bai did well I thought in WA. Even our wingers, Anne and Liv, had a real crack. And then Al, it was more than good to have you in goals, nostalgic even. You made a big difference. Finally, to our juniors Billie and Hayley, thank you so so much for bringing your A game to our game. B Grade: Robe 26 Pt Mac 48. What a great fight girls, even though we didn't get a win, no one dropped their heads, their defence was strong but so was ours, although their goals were very accurate with a few really good shots thrown into the ring. Calcu a (Original Skin Clinic) went to Tamara for a great drive down the court while also pacing the speed. Incen ve (The Eighth Le er) went to Emma for great moving around the ring and some great shoo ng. A Reserve: Robe 40 Pt Mac 28. A slow start saw us play goal for goal for the first 10 minutes and then we slowly pegged back to playing our game. Demi shoo ng with 100% in the first quarter! Our defensive pressure is so good, we just need to keep it up all game and make sure we capitalise on the turnovers. Leading down court is s ll something we need to improve on, from all of us. The driving through and re-offering in the mid court is what we need to work on. Great game from Kimberley who earned herself the Calcu a (Steve's Place) crea ng numerous turnovers and strong rebounds. Incen ve (Union Café) went to Demi for her strong direc on and accuracy all game. A Grade: Robe 56 Pt Mac 44. A great team game! Everyone came out posi ve and confident in themselves and each other! This showed all over the court, with Sarah coming away with the incen ve (Loaves & Fishes) award and having a great game - taking control of the goal ring and working well with Demi, who slo ed straight into the a ack line. Once again Lucy worked relessly at WA, driving onto the circle with speed and accuracy. Annie had a great game at C, pu ng lots of pressure on down the court. Ellen slo ed in nicely back at WD, with her speedy drives and ge ng her hands to lots of balls, which saw her come away with a well-deserved Calcu a (Holiday). Emma and Geo put lots of pressure on in the goal circle, making the most of any rebounding opportunity and chasing many loose balls! Like I said, great team game!

Congratula ons to Stacey Lowndes on her 200th game today. Stacey is one of our dedicated and hardworking club person. Well done Stacey and good luck. Junior 2: This game was one of our strongest games of the season. The girls put through wicked efforts and listened to the cri ques I was giving them. I hope to see this effort con nue with our future games. Well done girls! Junior 1: What an amazing effort against Kalangadoo girls! As coaches it is great to see everyone taking in the skills learnt at trainings, and really showing their improvement on the court on Saturdays. Our defensive pressure throughout the court was strong, which resulted in lots of hands to the ball. Some great passages of play were seen, with the ball transi oning down the court and into the circle nicely. Lots of talk on the court and backing each other up is something we are working on, which is sure to come over the last few weeks - and hopefully set the girls up for their next few years in 13's. Best player went to Alice (Fasta Pasta) who killed it in the goal circle, ge ng in front of her player and using the circle to posi on herself to shoot. Well done girls! 13 & Under: Bad luck girls, even though we didn't win it was a be er effort from everyone. We did a great job for 3 quarters and then Kalangadoo ran away with the game. We need to remember to play in front and meet the ball. When passing, they need to stronger and more direct to each other. We did have some great passages of play throughout the game, bring the ball out of defence and into the circle. Thanks to Lilly for filling in as team manager, Leila for umpiring and Dawn for scoring. Awards Callie (Fasta Pasta) and Holly (Andy's Bakery). 15 & Under: Bad luck girls, we came out strong but unfortunately put our heads down towards the end of the game. Abbey and Tilly worked well in goals, we just need to work on our accuracy. Kaylah, Kodie and Olivia worked well in feeding our goalies and controlling the ball. Sara and Macy worked well in defence ge ng turnovers and taking intercepts. Lola and Kali played well in and put a lot of pressure while defending which really impacted the game well done. Super proud of all the girls and their effort, but we will con nue to work on our posi vity. Big thank you to Lisa for umpiring and Allan for scoring. Awards went to Kaylah (Beauty by Hannah) and Kodie (Millicent Sportspower). 17 & Under: A er coming off from playing one of the best games I know these girls are capable of, we struggled to match that game. Our effort wasn't there and it was clear Kalangadoo wanted the win more. Despite going down, the girls had a few strong patches of play which was good to see. A er our bye, the girls need to come out firing and play the game like I know they can. Thanks to Ebony for umpiring and Tracy for scoring. Awards went to Faith
NETball club notes McKenzie (Subway), Oliviah Baker (Ducky's Surf) and Jarrah Altschwager (Sportspower). B Reserve: Well done ladies, this game is what we needed. We were behind going into the last quarter and turned the quarter to our advantage, and that is a posi on that we haven't been in all season. So proud of you all and we keep our heads up and played for each other, and didn't ma er was thrown at us, we stayed disciplined and finished the game of strongly. We will take away a lot from this game and keep working hard. Thanks to Lisa for umpiring and thanks to our wonderful reliable scorer Wayne. Thanks also to Macy for once again si ng bench. Awards: Georgia (Dentons Sportspower), Mia (Ducky's Surf) and Bec (Harper & Co). B Grade: Well done girls on another solid game. We came up against a top 2 side and kept up with them in the first half only falling away in the last. Was great to have Lilly back and driving to the circle and suppor ng the goalies. Both Madi's worked relessly in a ack and ge ng rebounds and chasing the ball a er a miss shot was great to see. Lani stepped up in centre and gave many op ons down court, driving the ball down. Jaz started in GK and worked her bu off against a much taller opponent and didn't give up. Thanks to juniors Macy and Abbey for stepping up in WD, both pu ng pressure on the wing a acks drive - well done girls. Thanks to Sam for scoring and Lynne for umpiring. Awards went to Stacey (Melzar), Maddi Wilkinson (Heavan on a Hanger) and Jaz (Fasta Pasta). A Reserve: What a great last quarter ladies. You kept on figh ng and won that last quarter. Great job. A posi ve to take away from that game and start strong this week. A er a slow start and goals not hi ng the mark, changes at half me saw Zoe move to WD in a posi on that she excelled at ge ng hands over the ball and pu ng pressure on the pass, making Kalangadoo’s a ack line work hard for their goal, also taking the pleasure of Kelly and Macca taking many intercepts. Goals started to drop in the second half and your confidence showed. Bri and Amelia working relessly through mid court just need to watch our foot work. Remember girls it’s a team game and to support each other when not going our way. Awards to Bri (Sportspower), Amelia (Heaven on a Hanger) and Zoe (Harper and Co). A Grade: We were looking forward to a tough hit out against a strong Kalangadoo ou it and they gave us what we expected - a tough and uncompromising style of netball that I thought we managed to cope with for 3/4 of the game. With a few structural changes and tweaks to our plan at half me we unfortunately lost momentum which we are aware that this quarter is the one we need to work on the most. We didn't give up the fight and held our own in the last but unfortunately unable to make up the margin lost from the 3rd quarter. What a great team game over all girls, I'm so proud of each and every one of you! Mt Burr 37 - Kalangadoo 43. Big thanks to Leila Buhlmann for making her A Grade debut with the Burr and also Jasmine Holland for si ng bench. Thanks to Leah for umpiring, Allan for scoring and Tanya for primary caring.
Thank you to all players who have been playing 2 games a week to help fill sides, the commi ee really appreciates this. Also a thanks to all our ever reliable girls who are umpiring more than their fair share of games, without these girls you might actually have to umpire so be sure to thank them, especially if you are ge ng the same one every week. Tonight we have a Red, Black and White Ball which is sure to be a great night. Tickets are s ll available so please catch up with Tamara. This week's sponsors are the Sign Depot. The Sign Depot is a new Mount Gambier based business offering signwri ng and commercial print solu ons. Junior 2: What a great game you all played against Kalangadoo. Was great to hear all your voices on the court. Our defence was excep onally great with many intercepts and rebounds and Kalangadoo side sta ng how strong our defence was. Our a ack side is ge ng stronger with some good passes and spreading out to bring the ball down the court and rewarding ourselves with some goals ge ng scored. Best players: (Baker’s Delight) Allira and Cadence Ingley (Penola Recyclables) Harper Deamer. Junior 1: Great effort girls, you all had some good patches of play down the court. Keep working hard, only a couple of games le . Thanks again to our Jnr 2s for filling in. Best players - Penola Recycling award to Asha for some great intercepts and strong rebounds, Baker’s Delight award to Aubrey for some great dodging and leads into space. 13 & Under: Great first quarter, we definitely proved we can match any team when everyone is giving 100%. In the second and third quarter Kalangadoo stepped into another gear and we were no match for them. However, we had plenty of posi ves court transi ons and our pressure in defence made them work for possession. A er many changes for the last quarter, we managed to increase our scoreline. Skye took many intercep ons in defence and rebounded strongly. When moved to goals gave us plenty of drive and movement needed. Kaylee changed her holding game to moving to the ball and adapted well to what was asked. We need to get the win against Mt Burr to play in finals so let's talk to each other, want the ball and get in front. 17 & Under: Thanks to the girls that
filled in for us, without you we would not have had a team. With half our team out, the start of our game was a bit unsteady throwing balls away. But the girls got in to the grove of it and were talking to each other and moving well. Defensive pressure was good and they were talking which was really good to see. Our mid court were mee ng the ball and ge ng it down the court. The girls made the under 15s feel welcome and involved them in the game with was good to see. Best players were Scarle and Kiara. B Reserve: We all knew this was going to be a tough game so we decided to try have some fun with it and mix our posi ons. We all s ll gave it our all but while having a laugh. Well done to everyone who was in a spot they don't normally play in. Tamara and Davina, you work really well in defence together. Kat was running hard in centre. Kate tried her hardest to get out for centre passes. Jayne in her least favourite wing defence s ll played a strong game. Amy and Maddy had a good laugh trying to shoot some goals. Maxi was trying hard for rebounds in defence and Pauline worked as hard as she could in goal shooter. Best players: Kat Chaplin, Amy Long. B Grade: With a couple of our team out and needing fill in we knew going up against Kalangadoo undermanned was going to be hard. We had a be er start than usual but our fitness and lack of training really showed. We need to remember to keep the momentum going even when the score blows out. We have two games le for our season and I really want us to give it a red hot crack! I believe in you guys and as I said a er the game no ma er the outcome I am proud to be your coach. Best players Shannon Pearce and Kate Clayfield. A Reserve: Was an awesome game girls. We were definitely in it for the first half and had them worried. Just minor things that let us down as we got red. Defence worked hard all game to curb Kalangadoo's goalies, they took many great intercepts and made the opposi on work hard. Centre area ran hard all game down the court, moved well to posi on on the ring in right spots for the goalies and fed some good passes into the ring. Goalies had to work hard for the ball and moved well and shot with high accuracy. Unfortunately we let it go a bit in the last half which was always going to happen with all the changes our team has had every week to the line-up, sickness, injuries and cos of all this not being able to train consistently to improve on the li le things. Considering all that we s ll get a team on the court every week and some even playing 2 games a week, what a crazy year it's been. Keep your heads high everyone and be proud, we s ll have achieved so much and been so compe ve every week. Let's finish off the last 2 games strongly. Best Cassie and Tamara. A Grade: Fantas c game ladies, we were consistent every quarter and held our own. To only go down by 16 goals to the top team is an amazing effort and we should be proud of ourselves. Each week we are showing up and being compe ve even though we only have half our team most weeks. Thanks to the girls that filled in for us. Let's finish the season off strong. Best players were Tahlia Wilson and Kylie Heaver.
port macdonnell NETball club notes Junior 1: Best game of the year girls well done, everyone played great. See what happens when we all play as a team. Strong game for Addie in defence, great shoo ng from Lily and Lucy. Best players went to Daisee who took home the Baker’s Delight award and Lucy who took home the Donut King award. Junior 2: Well done girls, you all played very well. Keep it up. You all have a bright future ahead. Best players Emilee, you got lots of turnovers and touches to the ball. Second best Maddie you played very well! 13 & Under: What a great game by all girls. Everyone listened, everyone took on their role that was given to them and we got the job done. Having most of our team back was a huge help and girls went back to playing their normal posi ons. Our ming wasn't the greatest but it was good enough to get where we wanted to get the ball too. Our passes were be er, we stopped, we squared up then throw the ball which is exactly what we wanted to see. We have improved so much in the last couple of weeks and we are all their to back one another up. We play so much be er when we play our game and not get a run on like the other teams do. We play our best netball when it's our speed and we control the ball so that's something we will be working on in the coming weeks at training but overall I think moving forward we s ll have a bit to work on but finals are looking very bright for the girls this year. Best players went to Chelsea Fulham (Boost Juice) and Lillian Pe ngill (Fasta Pasta). 15 & Under: Great pressure in the defence end, remember to stay on the ground to avoid giving them second shots. We need to remember to come in front all over the court and follow our shots. Baker’s Delight best players Chloe, fantas c leading to the circle and great passing in to the shooters. Jas ght defensive game and strong passes out of defence. 17 & Under: Well done to every single one of you girls. Issy and I have repeatedly said that we need to keep our heads down and work hard un l the very last whistle regardless of the score, which is exactly what we did on Saturday. We made some half me changes which did not seem to change our dominance too much from the first half. Last me we played Robe, we lost our way and played into their game. It is great to see us play our own game and take control. Let’s keep pushing and work hard to prove why we have claimed top spot on the ladder. B Reserve: Thanks Robe for being a friendly team to play against, one of the reasons to play MSE netball.
TANTANOOLA NETball club notes
Wonderful start ladies. Which you all did your part to build on throughout the game - well done. Paige received the Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro voucher and Jenni received the TaylorMade Hair & Beauty voucher. B Grade: We faced Robe in windy condi ons. Adjus ng to these condi ons we had to play a short sharp and direct game. First quarter we were a li le quiet un l we se led into the game. Once we controlled the ball and stuck to our structures and processes scoring opportuni es opened up. Accurate passing and delivery of the ball were essen ally the aim throughout the game. Kelly provided beau ful ball into the circle, finding Jess and Candice under post. Jess held her space strongly and took the ball with strong hands. Finishing with some spectacular shots. Candice did a wonderful job opening up the circle and finding space. The defensive team of Georgia, Brooklyn and Elivia had many gains, deflec ons and touches. It was great to see these girls chasing balls down and delivery them into the a ack line. The driving out of defensive by the girls was excep onal and well med! Unfortunately we lost Brooklyn with an ankle injury during play. We were grateful that Robe players, officials and umpires had our players duty of care in mind and assisted us with the care of Brooklyn. We sincerely thank you. McKenzie and Ainsley stepped in when posi onal changes occurred, both fi ng in beau fully. Helping us to finish the game strongly. Jess Grigg (F45) and (Fi h and Madison), Elivia Stanley (Shipwreck Bistro Victoria Hotel Port MacDonnell). A Reserve: Although we didn't get the win, the score didn't reflect the consistent game that was played. You all fought hard and kept in touch with a quality side. A pa ent and controlled game that proved you can be a compe ve side. Lots of posi ves from this game. Let's con nue to push our compe on and con nue to reward ourselves. Best players Cody Manning and Keyarnah Smith A Grade: Well done girls, we played well considering we were players down and had 2 shuffle the team. Our defence worked over me and was able to get some good touches. Our a ack drove hard all game, with the goalies also working over me to ensure they got the ball. Our passes unfortunately let us down, trying to force the ball, we need to ensure we don't force and use the safest op on. But overall not a bad effort. Best: Kate Winterfield and Toni Gilmore (Victoria Hotel).
Congratula ons to Sally Peters who last week played her 150th senior game for Tantanoola. Well done Sal, we hope there are plenty more to come. Junior 2: Freezing cold day to play netball last week. A er a very bad first quarter, some posi ons changes were made and we were back on track. Excellent defence by our defenders. Our awards went to Daisy for an excellent job at GA, so proud to see you have a real crack at this posi on when I know you would prefer GS. Our other award went to Lexi. No ma er what posi on I put you in you try 110%. Well done girls! Junior 1: A great team effort by the girls against Kongorong. We scored many goals and all worked super hard as a team to get these. The girls are making a huge effort to come in front before ge ng the pass. We just need to remember we have 3 seconds to pass, so ensure you steady before passing. We had great pressure over the ball and moved from defence to a ack easily, finding that space and not crowding for a pass. I was so impressed by everyone as they all had amazing moments! Emie received an award for her con nuous efforts down the court in both a ack and defence. Zahli received an award for the terrific work in goals and defence, your confidence is developing so much. 13 & Under: Wow what a fantas c start to the game! For most of the first quarter we were able to match Kongorong goal for goal crea ng an exci ng game to watch. Unfortunately we couldn't quite keep it up the whole quarter. Rachael and Astyn were kept busy in the defence ring once again, with Summah providing lots of great leads when bringing the ball down the court. Ebony and Isabel were both able to get a number of intercepts in the mid-court, something we haven't achieved consistently in previous games. Once again in the final quarter we were able to match Kongorong goal for goal, and this me able to sustain it for the whole quarter – the first me we have achieved this in the second half of a game this year! Unfortunately it just wasn't quite enough to bring the score-line back our way, but a great game to watch overall. Well done girls, you should be really proud of your efforts. Awards went to Alexis Hoffmann and Summah Brown. 15 & Under: We welcomed Lani up from the 13's for the rest of the season to try and give our team some consistency as we are constantly short each week. Unfortunately we were unable to get the win with 2 of our players s ll out. It was good to see Grace back and a few of our players return to normal posi ons. I have my fingers crossed for the rest of the season we will be back to a full team and we can take off where we were at mid season, as we were really star ng to come together as a team and se le into our posi ons improving each week. Thanks Tamika and Alexis again for filling in. Sportspower Award went to Bethan who wanted that ball chasing it up and making endless intercep ons. Fasta Pasta award went
to Lani for giving it her all for 4 quarters. 17 & Under: It wasn't pre y but we got there in the end! We need to li each other on the court girls because when you do it makes all the difference. A great defensive game with lots of ps to balls. When we slowed it down in the a ack we were unstoppable. Ebs ran strong in the centre to earn herself the Denton’s Sportspower award. 3 games le girls then finals! Dig deep and play hard. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. We know how bad you want it so prove it to everyone else. Big game this week, come out firing and play to win! Jami and I are your biggest supporters girls. Let's go Tiges! B Reserve: Fantas c game girls, was great to see you all working together as a team and enjoying yourselves and come away with the win. The girls came out firing with some great passages of play across the court, was great to see everyone maintain the intensity for a full 4 quarters last week. A er a few tough games we really wanted to focus on maintaining posi vity for the en re game, even when mistakes are made and was great to see your smiles all the way down the court. Best players went to Kateesha who worked relessly down in defence ge ng lots of turnovers. And Chloe who played her best game so far, and her first game without stepping, you should be really proud of how much you have improved. Go Tiges! B Grade: We nearly got there girls, it was a great team effort. Everyone did their job exactly as they were asked and we stuck with them for the first 3 quarters. Let's keep our heads up for the last 3 games, they're all going to be tough. Tant 39 - Kong 46. Best players: Alice Walker and Kirsty Johnson. Awards Jodie (Sassi) Leah (Fi h and Madison). A Reserve: We finally had a full team so trying to work out where everyone best plays and combos was a slow progress. You girls s ll played well and worked hard. We lose one of our defenders, Michelle, who will be going up to A Grade and we wish her and the girls all the luck for the rest of the season. Best: Rachel Bagshaw (Chelsea Feast Make-up voucher), Chloe McCallum (Ampol fuel voucher). A Grade: A good win from the girls a er a hard loss. We didn't have Kristy out on court but you weren't far away. Michelle slo ed into the WD role and did a top job, your long arms make it hard for any a acker. Kate and Tay, you take on each week as a new challenge and don't disappoint. You read off each other be er and be er each game we play. Mads, you played a solid game through the middle and gave more and more when we asked. Casey, Jami and Em, you find each other with ease and the connec on you all have is awesome. A few games le so we know what we need to do. Big week girls, let's put in the effort. Awards went to Kate (Lima and Co) and Emma (Fi h and Maddison), both having stellar performances.

NETball club notes 13 & Under: And... we won! Every single player in the Under 13's played with 110% effort, energy and excellence to bring home a win. We celebrated every goal hard, totalling a 12 goal win. Every player was awarded best player with a voucher thanks to Hungry Jack’s, as every player worked as a part of a winning team, and well deserved best player and the win. Could not be more prouder of them. Well done girls! 15 & Under: Wahoo! Our first win for the season, so happy and proud of each and everyone of you for the way you all played with everyone pu ng in 100%. A well deserved win girls. Best players: Zahli Beard (Kongorong Canteen) and Alisha Cram (Hungry Jack’s). 17 & Under: It was a really tough game for the girls in windy condi ons against some tough opposi on. I'm very proud of the girls for their efforts in being able to put in 100% of effort in all four quarters even bea ng them in the last quarter. Best players: Jasmin McKinnon (Fasta Pasta), Evie Sealey (Arena Sports). B Reserve: Macy, how many push ups did we end up with girls? Alex and Elly worked well in the circle together as did Tamika and Stacey with some great shots from all our shooters. Even with our hard work, our accuracy was s ll lacking. Alisha and Nat gave it their all again in the mid court ge ng some good turnovers. Le a and Macy worked hard in defence and got some nice rebounds. We are doing everything right, you all know where you should be and what you should be doing, it is just ge ng the goal in at the end of all the work that we some mes struggle with. Keep your heads high and give it your all today against Hatherleigh. Best players: Le a Clarke (Vanity), Natalie Telford (Birdie Blue). B Grade: Awesome result girls. We started off a bit slow and struggled to move the ball down the court in the first half. We threw away a few silly
NETball club notes passes trying to keep up with the fast paced opposi on but we eventually se led down and held our leads just that li le bit longer and the play started to flow from one end to the other. Maddie, Taylah and Brooke did an amazing job down in the defensive end and applied pressure on the goalies all game and managed to get their hands on plenty of ball and pull in some strong rebounds. Scout, Taylah and Jess moved well through the mid court to bring the ball down and fed well into the goalies. Emalee and Sarah moved well together in the goal circle against some strong Tant defenders and shot well. We were drawn at three quarter me but managed to give our all in the last quarter and come away with the win. Best players: Billie Williams (Vanity), Jess Moelder (The Commersh). A Reserve: Great first quarter to set the game up. Good connec ons in the a ack line and transi ons down court. Defence worked hard to gain turnovers and rebounds. Let's work together this weekend to celebrate the last home game of the year. Best players: Kelsey Widdison (The Commersh), Megan Bowering (F45). A Grade: Great effort girls! I wanted us to focus on areas of our game that haven't been up to scratch the last couple of weeks and it was a good stepping stone back to playing the netball we want to be playing. It was a great defensive effort across the court. We just need to be able to capitalise on all our hard effort. Let's con nue to work hard at training this week ready for a ght game at home this coming weekend. Best players: Tilah Buckingham and Riley Buckingham. This home game against Hatherleigh, we celebrate 30 years of our B Grade premiership. We are looking forward to reminiscing with past players, in conjunc on with our annual Ladies Day, it’s sure to be a great day on the courts.
Junior 2: We took a while to get back into the swing of the game a er having two weeks off, especially in our a ack line. Defensively we were ght on our players, taking lots of intercepts. However, our passing was scrappy, trying to pass over the top of players, rather than looking for the person in front. We did progress as the game went on, bringing back our shoulder passes and including some dodges. Awards: Violet Fitzgerald (HLC), Maggie Ma hews (McDonalds). Junior 1: A er a few weeks off, J1 girls were raring to get out on the court. It was a more physical style of game than we are used to so the team had to adjust, grab the ball hard and keep their bodies strong. Our dodge and front cuts worked well against the height of Glencoe in the ring, and our centre court fed accurately well into the goalies. Our consistent strong passing and leading into space opened up the game and the ball was moving freely. Defence was ght all game, as we kept our eyes up and snatched in the loose ball. Arabella got an award for her consistently offering and defence down the court and Leyla got the other award for her excellent intercepts. 13 & Under: A er having 2 weeks off, it took us a while to get ourselves into the game. It was great to see us readjust our game in the second half with strong leads to the ball and a rela vely open court. Defensively we turned the ball over plenty of mes, however, our decision making and passing errors let us down. Awards: Meeka Hales (HLC), Sylvie Barlow (Denton's Sportspower). 15 & Under: Not a bad effort from the girls coming off a double bye. Our first half was really good, defensive pressure from all girls gave us plenty of scoring opportuni es and Kalli and Hailey didn't let us down shoo ng beau fully. We dropped off a bit in the second half but s ll managed to win comfortably. Niah did a fab job at GD, reading the play and ge ng her hands to plenty of ball. We need to work extremely hard over the next few weeks to make sure we play a full 60 minutes of netball. Awards: Niah Faulkner and Deni Brown (HLC). 17 & Under: A er two very long weeks off, it took the first half of the game to be able to se le ourselves and actually play the game. We were able to break away from Glencoe's fight luckily, as our fa gue grew so did our fundamental mistakes. Defensively we had pressure over just about every ball but really struggled in sharpening our drives and accurate passing. We have definitely proved that we are strengthening every week, but we s ll have plenty to work on. Awards: Dakota Hateley (Java Café), Kalli Ne le (HLC). B Reserve: The first quarter saw us play netball that really wasn't true to
our capabili es with rushing and our passes. Thankfully going into the second quarter something really clicked and everyone played 3 quarters of really focused, switchedon netball. Lucy played an absolute blinder with countless turnovers, together with Fee they both rebounded strongly and applied a lot of pressure. Sarah went into WD and didn't disappoint, ge ng her hands to many loose balls. Staci, Sal, and Grace in C and WA all worked really hard, and all had great drives down the court and fed the ball into Nic and Paris with pa ence, in return, both shot and rebounded well. There were great passages of play by everyone and if we want to con nue moving forward, we have to con nue this form. Well done girls. Hopefully this week we have Amy back as she was out sick. It was great to have Jess courtside, thank you for scoring, thank you Sam for ming and Sophie for PC. Awards: Lucy Bell (Somerset Hotel), Nic Thomas (All Seasons of Beauty), Staci Faulkner (HS&RC). B Grade: It wasn't our day when we came up against the inform top side. We didn't have a good start with our defensive pressure crea ng many turns but made silly mistakes me and me again which was cos ng us on the scoreboard. I think it showed we'd had a few weeks off, we will regroup, put in some hard yards over the next few weeks and be stronger for it. Ellie Cook shot amazing for 3 quarters hi ng 100% for two of them. Everyone else had great passages but didn't show our normal consistent games. As a team we need to focus when we get a turn to treasure the ball and score from it. Thanks to Heidi for scoring, Stacey for ming and Linda for PC. Awards: Ellie Cook (Somerset Hotel). A Reserve: Coming into last week's game we knew it was going to be a hard game a er going down by six last round. The girls accepted the challenge and came out figh ng. It was great to see all the girls adjust quickly, playing our own game. Millie had a boomer of a game again in GK reading the ball and shu ng the defence down. Helen and Rosie are combining well through the midcourt giving lots of op ons. Dakota se led and shot beau fully. The prac cing must have helped! Well done girls on a great game. Thanks Sam for scoring and Sara for ming. Awards: Millie Smith (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Dakota Hateley (HLC). A Grade: Another game where we had our chances but our inability to play 60 mins keeps cos ng us. Erin worked hard in the mid-court, playing with pa ence and control. Demi had a super game at GK and keeps ge ng be er and be er week a er week. Let's con nue to work on our game and finish the season strongly. Awards: Erin Watson (Somerset Hotel), Demi Vanderhorst (Beachport Hotel).
ROUND 15 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW Hatherleigh 41 lost to Glencoe 51 Both sides started with different lines ups compared to when they met last, Glencoe started strong and were quick to add to the scoreboard. They got an early jump on the home side scoring the first 6 goals of the game. Glencoe's Malinda Markiewicz and Jenna Paproth were combing well and were able to convert any opportunity that came their way. The home side were slow to start but were able to pull back the score line with some quick turnovers from their defence who were working over me. Glencoe's Chloe Pfitzner and Hatherleigh's Georgia Hunter were having a great tussle on and off the ball. The game was fast and intense which saw every ball heavily contested. Glencoe went to the first break up by 4 with a 10-14 lead. The second term saw both sides remain unchanged, Glencoe came strong again but Hatherleigh stepped up. Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks con nued to shut down space in the goal circle for Redman and Wight which saw Hatherleigh's a ack line working over me. But Hunter and Erin Watson con nued to be pa ent and worked the ball around un l they were able to find Wight and Redman who were able to convert for their side. Going into the main break just 3 goals the difference, the home side brought Tegan Telfer into the game at WA and Hunter to the bench, again Glencoe remained unchanged and con nued to push on. Hatherleigh came out and applied heavy defensive pressure, making Glencoe work for every possession, but Glencoe played with confidence, and showed why they are a quality finals contender. The defence combina on of Demi Vanderhorst, Lara MacGregor and Chelsea Galpin is proving to be tough to get past. Any highballs that entered the circle were snatched up by Vanderhorst who was best on court for her home side. Ashlea Edwards was solid for her side and was able to feed in with accuracy and pa ence. Markiewicz and Paproth had a huge third quarter as they helped their side take a 9-goal lead going into the final break. The last term saw changes for the home side with Wight going to the bench, Maddie Redman back into GS and Telfer going into GA whilst Glencoe remained unchanged. The game was psychical and intense for all four quarters with neither side giving an inch, Hatherleigh con nued to push and apply heavy defensive pressure all down the court, the final term was more even with the home side only going down by 1 goal in that quarter, but Glencoe put out a consistent four quarter effort which saw them take the win by 10. Best players - Hatherleigh: Demi Vanderhorst, Erin Watson; Glencoe: Chantelle Cocks, Malinda Markiewicz.
Nangwarry 36 lost to Kalangadoo 52 The game started off strong with both teams missing key players from their line ups but scoring their first centre passes easily. With a turnover from Kalangadoo and accurate shoo ng from Kori Collins saw Kalangadoo
get a jump on Nangwarry. Kate Biszko and Demi Ingley were working relessly in defence for Nangwarry trying to stop Collins from ge ng the ball but with pin point passing from Kirsty Egan and Jayde Peacock made it easier for Collins to hold. Kylie Heaver worked hard for Nangwarry driving the ball down the court well and feeding to Ange Pra and Tahlia Wilson with ease. Quarter me saw Kalangadoo leading by 6 goals. Kalangadoo came out strong in the second quarter, scoring the first 4 goals for the quarter. Sophie Wrightson was having a great ba le with Kylie Heaver doing her best to stop her drive onto the circle. Collins was on fire and was backed up well in the goal circle by Anthea Paterson which made it hard for the Nangwarry defenders. Jayde Peacock and Hayley Burner were having a good tussle in the centre driving the ball down the court well for their teams. Georgia Gen le and Reanna Wetherall worked relessly in defence trying to stop Pra and Wilson from moving in the circle and having easy shots at goal. Half me saw Kalangadoo leading by 10 goals. In the third quarter Kalangadoo came out firing, turning over numerous intercepts in the defensive end and scoring every opportunity they had. Collins stood out again for Kalangadoo shoo ng with high accuracy and con nued to be well supported by Paterson. Kirsty Egan had a great quarter making Nangwarry struggle to get the ball down the court. With a few passing errors from Nangwarry saw Kalangadoo capitalise on those mistakes and extending their lead back out. Pra and Wilson con nued to work hard to score each centre pass and Heaver once again passed beau fully into the Nangwarry goalies. Three quarter me saw Kalangadoo lead by 17 goals. In the last quarter Nangwarry came out with nothing to lose. Kate Biszko and Demi Ingley worked hard and turned over numerous balls for their team and Pra and Wilson were able to score on those opportuni es making it hard for Kalangadoo's defenders to stop their momentum. Egan and Peacock con nued to work hard through the centre for Kalangadoo, picking up any loose balls and were well converted by Collins. Both teams ran the game out well and Nangwarry were able to outscore Kalangadoo in this quarter but unfortunately the score was already too far out of their reach and Kalangadoo were able to take the win by 16 goals. Best players - Nangwarry: Tahlia Wilson, Kylie Heaver; Kalangadoo: Reanna Wetherall, Kirsty Egan.
Robe 56 def Port MacDonnell 44 It was going to be a tough ba le, a er Port Mac coming away with a 2 goal win in the first round. Robe came out strong with some accurate shoo ng from Sarah Laurie and Demi Carter in windy condi ons, only missing one goal each for the first quarter. Port Mac's goalies Toni Gilmore and Brooke Williams moved well in the goal circle and also shot accurately for the quarter. Robe led 14 to 9 at quarter me.
The second quarter was more evenly contested, with Gilmore taking control in the circle for Port Mac, shoo ng a majority of the goals. Robe's WD Ellen Ramke stepped up and put lots of pressure on Port Mac's Narelle Lewis, ge ng herself a few intercepts and lots of touches to the ball. Port Mac's defenders Alana Winter and Kate Winterfield stepped up their pressure and made Robe's Laurie and Carter work for every goal. Both teams scored 12 goals for the quarter, with the score being 26 to 21 at half me. The third quarter saw Robe come out firing, with Sarah Laurie domina ng in goals and all seven players pu ng lots of pressure on all over the court. This saw Robe's intensity stepped up and defenders Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins ge ng plenty of touches and rebounds, winning the quarter by seven goals. The score was 43 to 31 at three quarter me. The final quarter once again saw no changes to either side, with both teams struggling with accuracy and lacking concentra on, which saw a few undisciplined turnovers from both teams. Both teams scoring 13 goals for the quarter, with the final score being 56 to 44. Best players - Robe: Ellen Ramke, Sarah Laurie; Port MacDonnell: Toni Gilmore, Jess Trench.
Tantanoola 73 def Kongorong 39 Kongorong won the toss and took the first centre pass of the game and were able to score quickly through Tilah Buckingham. The home side responded with quick movement from Casey Walker on the wing and a safe delivery into her goalies pu ng their first score on the board. Both sides showed intent early in the game with the goal shooters from both sides finding range early and proving to be the focal point down each end. The Tigers lead the first quarter 17-11. No changes from either side in the second but it was the Tigers who came out firing and stepped up their defensive pressure. Defensive duo Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe were out hun ng and were able to turn ball over for their side to convert. Emma Gould was the target to watch in the circle shoo ng 16 goals for the term. The Tigers extended their lead and went into half me 38-22. Kongorong made changes in the third with Emily Lightbody moving to GK and Tori McIntyre to WD to try and stop the ball coming into Gould. Kongorong's height in their defensive line up caused havoc for the Tigers with some wayward passing and the Hawks were able to move the ball quickly through their WA Kate Wright and covert through their shooter Tilah Buckingham. Going into the final break scores were 55-31. With no changes from either side going into the final quarter it was the Tigers who stepped it up a notch and looked to finish the game with intent although a compe ve Kongorong side didn't give up the points without a fight. Best players - Tantanoola: Kate Bromley, Emma Gould; Kongorong: Tilah Buckingham, Riley Buckingham.
