Not only has Josh been part of the on field success, his contribuons off field are also to be commended, oen chipping away in the background and sll to this day assisng to ensure the club connues to funcon successfully josh wight hatherleigh football club

Josh has been one of the lucky ones during his career achieving premierships in Junior Colts (twice) and Senior Colts (twice), and further a flag in 2005 in his first season of A Grade football. 2008 and 2013 again seen Josh playing pivotal roles in the HFC A Grade Jpremierships.oshdidhavesome me away from the club in 2010 2012 when he was living and studying in Adelaide and played close to 50 games with Angaston FC in the Barossa Light and Gawler Football JAssociaonoshhascertainly been a versale player during his career playing in most posions across the ground and through the ruck given he has always been agile, fit and possesses a good vercal leap. No doubt probably enjoys his me up forward slightly more than down back and can celebrate a goal! During his career Josh has played representave football at both Interleague and Zone level Josh's wife Kelsey is also another valued contributor at the Hatherleigh Netball Club. No doubt the pair of them will have a vested interest for years to come as their son Harry, daughters Lara and Alice progress through the junior ranks showcasing the skills given to them from their talented parents!

Tfuture.ylerRichardson played his debut A Grade game for the Hawks last week against Hatherleigh.

Doover is a great contributor to the club, assisng Je Aard this year with the coaching of the Senior Colts and always happy to help out wherever he can. Congratulaons Harrison!

50 Year Reunion

Premiership

Many of the 'players' hadn't been to the club for a number of years, some even decades, as had missed previous reunions, and were very envious of the facilies now provided to the players and supporters. Spacious clubrooms and changerooms, undercover spectator areas, BBQ and booth facilies . all a far cry from what they had at their disposal fiy years ago Whilst many have moved away or no longer involved directly with the club, they all were proud to say Kongorong held special memories for them, and grateful to be extended the invitaon to aend the reunion

The Kongorong Sportsmen's Club hosted the 1972 A Grade premiership team reunion on Saturday 6th August, where Club President Amanda Sealey welcomed the aendees and invited them to enjoy a sit down 2 course lunch, a few drinks and to share some of the many memories of that first ever A Grade premiership for the Hawks. Coach John Roberts’ guernsey from that year has hung proudly in the club for many years. A new commemorave plaque/photo board was unveiled, to acknowledge the milestone, and all those involved on that historic day for the THawkshatsame year Rick Mullan took out the leading goal kicker for the League with 104 goals, and Peter Barry was Runner up Best & Fairest for the League

A Grade: Last week, we travelled down to sunny Kalangadoo for a tough day of footy. The oval was in great condion considering the amount of rain that poured down in the days leading up to the weekend. The ground was sll considerably heavy under foot which would result in plenty of cramps. We knew from the outset that we would be up against a mammoth task of beang the ladder leader Kalangadoo, but we were ready to throw the kitchen sink at them. The first quarter proved to be an even bale with plenty of physicality around the footy. The Robe defenders rebounded well with Tommy Williams winning the first quarter bale on Michael Krieger. Both teams went goal for goal in the first quarter with Kalangadoo going into quarter me only 7 points up. From the start of the second quarter Kalangadoo started to get their outside running game going with Pat Davies and Andrew Stone having an impact for Kalangadoo. Kalangadoo went into half me with full control and a 77-point lead. In the second half, Kalangadoo connued to control the football and hing their forwards in Krieger and Ben Gregory. Robe connued to bale all day and certainly didn't lay the tools down. Tom Miller for Robe was a standout in the ruck with Jack Kelly geng plenty of the ball and slong 2 goals. Tommy Williams was an absolute wall in defence and took some strong defensive marks. The Robe lads connued to bale to the very end and I can't fault their effort. This week, we have our last home game for the season against Mt Burr. Although finals our out of reach for the A Grade, there is plenty to look forward to with the Senior Colts and Reserves both sll in the hunt. Let's get plenty of red and white fans there to cheer them on. Junior Colts: We came up against an undermanned Kalangadoo side who were up for a contest all day. We were coming off the back of a couple of tough losses and were ready to bounce back. We started extremely well with the ball going inside 50 numerous mes and the forwards being able to capitalise. We were up by 4 goals at qtr me. The second quarter wasn’t our best with everyone trying to get on the end of a goal but our forward line was congested and we found it difficult to score. With a few tweaks at half me we opened it right up and managed to pile on the goals in the third. The middle worked well with a few people geng a run in there that normally may not. We sent our captain to the opposion in the last and people were thrown around a fair bit but we sll managed to play some prey good footy. We ran away with a 12 goal win. With finals not within reach we connue to try and get beer every week and build our skills and awareness.

Reserves: We travelled across to Kalangadoo, it was a cold, wet day. We had mulple players out again due to availability and commitment which has been a constant weekly issue for the team. Anyhow Kalangadoo were far to good, they moved the ball so well and we were beaten all over the ground. Best for Robe was Dougal Day, Simon Ferguson, Elroy Samuels, Jesse Robertson and Josh Wilson. Our next game is a must win against Mt Burr, so our final chances stay alive.

Go Burr! Junior Colts: Last week we hosted Nangwarry and knew we were up for a good challenge. We had a highly contested game and lucky enough for our boys and girl we had a handy lead before it became quite wet. All our boys and girl played really well and was good to see lots of shepherds from them. Best players for us were Deklan Brant, Heath Johnston, Levi Thiele, Reed Gardiner, Jordan Burchell, Isabel Mitchell. Thank you to all the volunteers on the day to make the game happen and thank you to Nangwarry lending us a player We look forward to the next couple of games to finish our season off strong. Cheers Tom.

Senior Colts: Last week we were back home aer a long break away. We came up against a determined Nangas team and had a comfortable win. Aer an undisciplined start the boys pulled themselves together and played some great football and we are now assured of a finals berth which is reward for their hard work all season. Best players were Muhammad Abduvhobov covered the ground well in the ruck. Brady Sharp was at his best up forward finishing with four goals. Brock Sandow was solid across halack. Caleb Carr had a great game and provided a good target. Nathaniel Manhood got his hands on the ball and was rewarded with a great goal. Cohen Montuori was strong at the ball and set up plenty of play to our advantage. B Grade: We took on Nangwarry at home last Saturday and ended up coming home with the points. It was a tough game and showed how far our young side has come since we were completely outplayed by Nangas in the first round. Best player was Shawn Evans who played a great game in the midfield and also kicked his first 2 goals for the club. Other players who made a substanal contribuon were captain Zac Gray, Jayden Poulish, Mark Teagle, Noah Telfer and George Wimshurst. We are looking forward to and expecng to be compeve again next match against Robe. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day.

A Grade: Firstly congratulaons to Jack and Courtney who welcomed Luka into the world during our bye weekend. A special moment and another father/son added to the list! Congrats guys. Also congratulaons to Josh and Leila aer Joshy took a knee and asked the big one! A smooth mover in every sense, congrats! Saturday was a good turn around for us aer a tough loss to Kalangadoo before the bye. Great to see the boys stay hungry for a full 4 quarters and connue to push each other l the very end. Happy to be back on the winners listplenty more work to do though. Best for the day - Big Smithy was 1st aer bagging 9 for the day in a romanc show for the ages. Young Wilbur Bowering scored 2nd with his zip and polish throughout the day and a clean white headband really catching the eye. 3rd was Wombat Taylor who burrowed in from start to finish and loved every minute of it. Knife was 4th with his run, link and carry from the backline - an important piece for us. Papa Swag himself was 5th with 7 on the board and some fantasc electrical link up work with Smithy during the day. Brodz was 6th with his usual penetrang kicks seng us up me and me again. Really could have been the whole side in there. Special menon to our young guys who once again stood up and played some big roles for us. Great to get 4 from 4 wins for the day in the football. The Tantanoola Football and Netball Club would like to thank our volunteers who at short noce helped with the rescheduling of Port Mac's home game to Tant. Port Mac did a fantasc job reorganising everything and pulling it all together, certainly no easy feat. It's great to see two clubs working together to get a great day of country footy and netball played. Amazing work everyone. Our last home game for the season and we will be finishing off with a jukebox in the club tonight. Congratulaons to David Langley who plays his 150th game for Tant today. Langers is a Tiger through and through and it's great to see him make this Somemilestone.dates to remember for the rest of the season: Junior Presentaon – Sunday 11th September (aer Prelim SeniorFinal) Presentaon – Friday 23rd September Under 11: The kids were all excited when Alec Roberts turned up early to watch them play. The kids were quick to tell me that he is their coach which is great to see how much they love him. The skills were the best I've ever seen with at least 5 or 6 mes the kids moved the ball from one end of the oval to the other hing targets and taking marks all the way and the ball never hit the ground. The way they all get into the play compared from the start of the year is amazing. Awards went to Xavier Yates, Abbi Brown, Zac Chapple and Jack Rowe.

Senior Colts: G'day everyone, last week the colts took on Port Mac. With limited numbers and having some junior colts step up for a second game the boys seemed keen on pung in the hard yards for a hard fought win. A strong start in the first with a couple goals and then holding onto that lead throughout the second. The boys were in good shape to finish out the game strong. With a lot of unselfish play from us and great team work, we were able to pop another couple goals on the board allowing the boys out to come away with the win.

Junior Colts: Thanks heaps to Pt Mac and everyone involved in organising the change of grounds last week as our young junior colts would have struggled to move around on their heavy ground. Also big shout out to the Pt Mac boys that came over and played a qtr for us. Our young side went down but we are sll taking steps forward. Eli was huge down at full back for us once again geng best on ground. Other best players were Jake, Kaden, Zac and Kaiden Shawyer Big shout out to Harley Chapple, one of our under 11s, chasing down a much bigger kid and laying his first tackle in junior colts. Keep working boys, we are improving every week.

Reserves: With the venue change, saw us back home against Pt Mac. With two big milestones for Jake Bromley playing his 250th and also Tyson McGrath's 200th we had a lot to play for and the boys didn't disappoint by geng a comfortable win by the end of the game. Best on ground was Tyson McGrath playing some of his best footy for the season. Other best players were Jake Bromley, Coop Hamilton, Ma Nelson and Mark Langley Nick Cory

Under 11: Once again we had great numbers in the Mini's! Boxy and Tys have the kids flying. They are developing at a rapid rate. Tenacious tackling and team work have been the focus this season.

Junior Colts: We were undermanned and undersized again last week, but the kids always play a good hard brand of football. Robe ended up running away winners, which I don't think truly reflects how the game panned out. For such a small and inexperienced side our pressure around the ball was second to none. Keep working hard kids! Senior Colts: Last week we came up against one of the best junior sides in recent mes. Robe have played together for a long me and haven’t lost in 3 years. Our boys were exceponal, they tackled hard all game, were skilful when transioning the ball forward. Brad Male was named best player, he is pung a really consistent season together. It's really important to stay posive and keep building. With sustained hard work more results will come. B Grade: What an incredible day for our B Grade side and our whole club with Scoy Agnew being able to kick his 100th goal for the season. Scoy was able to kick 12 goals straight on Saturday to reach the milestone in the third quarter. As coach it was an absolute privilege to be part of this special achievement and I would like to acknowledge the rest of the team who should also take some credit in this achievement. Even though the 100th goal was the highlight the lads also played a really good solid game against a tough opponent in Robe. The 100 point win was not reflecve of what was a really tough, ght game of football where Jusn Mansell was dominate across half back and Jordy Brennan made a welcome return to the team. TJ also connued his great from by kicking a number of majors. This week we look forward to tackling a tough Tantanoola side that are always hard to beat at home.

Seniors: Robe came into this game sing 5th on the ladder We knew they were going to be tough, quick and very skilful. But fortunately for Kalangadoo, our relentless pressure and desire to hunt the ball came through again. We won the game by 160 points. We scored 12 goals in the 2nd quarter and 11 in the last quarter. I think this was the best we have executed our game plan all season. Once again our back 6 were superb. They intercepted and rebounded superbly, making it a nightmare for any forward. Kriegs was exceponal once again, kicking 12 and being named BOG. Another perfect winter's day. Robe were too strong across the 1st 2 grades last week. But we prevailed in both Senior games.

A Grade: A ripper day for football greeted us at Kongorong last week. We really wanted to get off to a good start and that we did with good ball movement and very good use of the football going forward we went into the main break with a solid 10 goal lead. The second half ghtened up as Kongorong lied their intensity and the game became a bit more scrappy. We ended up with a 99 point win with Sam Telfer (8 goals) and Paddy Chay (4 goals) leading the way up forward while Jordy Galpin and Zach Jones had a good day in the middle finding plenty of the ball. This week we are back on our home deck taking on Port Mac in a big game coming into finals. Go Eagles!

B Grade: We travelled down to Kongorong on Saturday with prey miserable weather forecast and a video report of a muddy oval, don't know what happened to the weather man but Halesy reckons it was the best weather he has seen at Kongorong in 20 years. With a few late changes to the side and a few boys not feeling the greatest aer Gilbo’s 6 tooth chops got a hold of them on Friday. We came out and played some excellent football. Clean and team first footy. Reidy was back to his best claiming first best. Will O'Connor had a great game across half back to get second. Reggie baled all day to take out 3rd, sun seeker Wight took home 4th having a good game at CHB. Ol guts Skeer was up and about kicking 3 in front of the misso to claim 4 and young 6 Tooth took 6th best. 5 goals each to Rural and Muff we ran out comfortable winners in the end to win by 143 points.

Senior Colts: Last week we took on Kongorong down by the coast. The forecast showed it was supposed to be an ordinary day for footy but we ended up with a perfect day. With not a breath of wind and blue skies the boys set out to face one of the beer teams in the compeon. The first quarter was ght as the boys kicked 3 goals to the Hawks’ 2. It looked to be a very even game. But aer a bit of a rev up at quarter me they came out firing kicking 3 goals to Kongorong’s 1 and having majority of the ball use and inside 50 me. The boys kicked away for the next half kicking another 5 goals to eventually win the game by 5 goals. Our beer players were Harvey Jones, once again kicking a huge bag of 8. Zak Bowering stood up when mes got tough and aacked the footy hard winning a lot of ground ball for us. Blake Werchon was skilful as always and provided a huge amount for us throughout the midfield. Tyson Atkinson played really well being clean with the ball all day. And Jack Bellinger played a great game up forward giving his opponent a tough day. We head back to the nest this week to take on the Bay Junior Colts: Up against the ladder leaders Kongorong last week who currently haven’t lost a game this season, we knew it was going to be a tough contest but I’m happy with the way our team took on the challenge. We were really compeve across the ground for the first 3 quarters only conceding the 1 goal through ll half me. The last quarter they kicked 4 goals to our 1 point which resulted in us going down by 41 points. The team definitely gave it their all but couldn’t crack the Kongorong defence. I was happy with the team’s tackling pressure across all 4 quarters.

Unfortunately the venue had to be changed due to the oval condion on Thursday. Tantanoola were very generous with their facilies, allowing us to run the day as a home game and it was greatly appreciated and showed the spirit of country football is certainly alive and well. So, thank you to everyone that assisted us in making the day such a success. Aer geng back on track stringing a couple of wins together it was very important to put another strong performance together against Tantanoola. With only 2 weeks le before the finals it is important to make every post a winner as we are sll mathemacally a chance for a top 2 berth. The game was also very special occasion as we had father and son playing together in the senior side for the first me, with Ben making his A Grade debut for the club to play with his son Brandon. The game was a real solid 4 quarter effort against a much younger Tantanoola side, who kept trying to the final siren. We are a lile more advanced currently with the playing stock and were able to take a very solid win. Best for the week were Tim Sullivan, Kev Thomson, Wade Chant, William Macdonald, Ned Wilke, Nathan Brotherton.

B Grade: Aer returning back from a disappoinng game at Robe a fortnight ago, the search for the second win took us away, for a home game against Tantanoola. Certainly, filling a side has been a lile easier for Coach Donovan as the season has gone on, not easy but certainly easier. The side has certainly improved through the year and the second win looks within reach. Unfortunately for our boys Tant jumped out the blocks and took a good lead into the quarter me break. The lead was just a lile too much for our boys to reel in and as hard as they tried, they were unable to close the gap. Best for the week were Fraser Lynch, Joel Newton-Anderson, Tyrese Newton, Mason Brown, Grady Hutchesson, Jordan Carrison.

Junior Colts: The Junior Colts connued their great form coming out with their 7th win in a row. They were playing the 4th placed Hatherleigh side and in a ght contest for most of the match that displayed some great local talent we were able to come out on top with a 33-point win. The kids are playing great football and prepare themselves now for a 1 v 2 bale this weekend with the undefeated Kongorong side. Last me we played them we went down in our only loss of the season, and this will also be our Semi Final opponent. It will be a great pracce run leading into finals. Hopefully we can get the win and some confidence leading into finals. Best players for our last game were Lachlan Brierley, Hamish Gordon, Kallan Price, Tyrone Siebert and Riley Ferguson.

Senior Colts: The Senior Colts came up against the 2nd placed Hatherleigh side and we were very short on numbers. Our boys put up a fight, but were missing some key players and a poor start only hurt their confidence. We ended up going down by 107 points, but hopefully the boys can find a win in their last 2 games of the year to finish the season off on a high in what has been a tough year with player numbers being at an all me low. Best players were Kaleb Price, Marcus McGrath, Lachlan Brierley, Brodie Pfitzner and Kieron Rigney.

A Grade: The A Grade side played one of their best games of the past 3 years. They are also on a 4game winning streak aer starng the season 2 and 8. We came up against an in-form Hatherleigh side who are one of the 2 clear favourites for the premiership this year and onlookers enjoyed a great game of skill and courage. Both sides played well for the 4 quarters and we made the most of our opportunies and unfortunately for Hatherleigh they missed some goals that probably would have gave them the win. It was a pleasing win for our boys that showed how some hard work can pay off if you play team footy. Best players were Patrick Mitchell, Zacc Cocks, Dylan Pfitzner, Alex Hentschke and Ben ThisHentschke.weekend we welcome Kongorong to our home deck in some must win games.

Reserves: Our Reserves side came into the game on a high winning 6 of their last 7 games, aer starng the season 2 and 5. But with the nature of Reserves footy we had a few players out with absence or injury and couldn't test ourselves against the league's best and undefeated Hatherleigh, who are on a 21-game win streak and look a formidable side. Hopefully we can get our full squad back this weekend and make a big push in the finals and make the most of our opportunity. This was our second 100-point loss of the year to the ladder leaders, but we have made massive strides to get ourselves to outright 3rd posion and look to get a Grand Final berth. Reserves: Effort was the theme of the day and although the scoreboard doesn't reflect it, the boys never stopped giving effort against a very strong Hatherleigh side. We had some good passages of play but overall the Eagles had too much talent and system for us to stop. Sandy Cameron was absolutely exceponal and gave his all to take out the Commercial Hotel Award, Dan Hann connued his excellent season for the Collins Court Butchers Award, Lachie Pulford never stopped working, as always, for the Club Tea Award, Declan Robinson took out the Pick Avenue Award and Pumba Farrell played his usual tough hard game for the other Club Tea Award. A fantasc day at Kongorong last weekend for the 50 Year Reunion of the 1972 Premiership, 20 Years of the 2002 B Grade Premiership, and Past Players Day Many thanks to Dick Waters and Jacqui Doloughan for co-ordinang the day for them, and to all those that helped out on the day, to make it a huge success. Sun was out, aer a quick shower of rain, and wind was minimal which made for the perfect day for footy. Game reviews are as follows: Under 11: The early start to the day, with a bit of dampness, made for slippery and slightly muddy condions for the younger brigade, but they held all their marks and tackled well. With big numbers from both teams it meant we could play across nearly ¾ of the oval, giving them plenty of room to run. The under 11's started the game strong and determined to win the ball at every contest. Awards: Intersport - Hunter Bingham, Graham & Ange Award - Ausn Bowering, Angelino Family - Tyler George, Coaches AwardDusty Cooper, Club Award - Harry Webb, Angus Maidment & William Beare, Donut King - Van Byron. Junior Colts: It was always going to be a challenge for our young Hawks as we welcomed a Hatherleigh side that has been playing some good footy over recent weeks, in what was our last home game from the year. We had to make a few posional changes and took a lile while to find our feet, in sunny condions the 1st half was a real bale with neither team geng a real run on and the ball consistently travelling up and down the ground, but we found ourselves a couple of goals up at the half. Once again, our defence held strong and connually rebounded the ball. The second half we found our groove and as we wore the young Eagles down, we managed to get our run and carry game going, breaking through the lines, and started to ck over the scoreboard to come away with a comfortable win. Best players and awards went to Ryan Lucas - Rarcoola Structural, Axel Page - The Rocks Shop, Nate Von Stanke-Dowie - Spot-On Fishing, Harrison Elletson - Mick Mullan Award, Declan Richardson - Coaches Award, Luke Allen - Janeway Plumbing Award. No beer way to finish off the home and away season with what shapes to be a real tough hit out with a very consistent and strong Glencoe ouit, who will be up for the bale. Senior Colts: Bit of a disappoinng day at home last week against Hatherleigh going down by 35 points. We always knew they were going to be a fast moving team and with a few of our runners out we knew it was going be a tough task. Coming into the game the boys seemed to have their 'A' game on, which was pleasing to see. The boys were compeve ll half me with some great tackles being laid, and some fast movement of the football. Being down coming into the last half the boys got a bit hot headed and we went away from our structures and game plans, which allowed Hatherleigh to run away with the win. Best players and awards went to: Brodie Von StankeDowie - Mahews Petroleum Award, Cohen Janeway - MT Wheels Award, Brycie Von Stanke-Dowie - Swallow Drive Meats, Rhys Newton - Mick Mullan Award, James Allen - Coaches Award Harrison Elletson - Badenoch's Deli Will track at Glencoe, last round season!

A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW - ROUND 17 -

Robe's Sarah Laurie and Halle Carter move well within their goal circle; however they will have to shoot with accuracy because any rebounds and loose balls will be chased down by Mount Burr's Olivia Dean and Madi Hagge. Down the other end of the court Robe's defenders will have to work overme to shut down the influence of Ebony Clark who is a focal point in the goal circle for the Mozzies. Laura Schultz and Annie Hunter will have a good tussle down the court with both players working hard to create turnovers and having excellent drives onto the circle. At the end of the game the Roosters will come away with the win, but Mount Burr will make them earn every goal.

Robe will be aiming to cement their posion in the top four when they host the Mozzies this weekend for another tough game. Mount Burr will be looking to redeem themselves aer their loss in round eight and will come out firing form the first whistle.

Tantanoola host the Magpies this weekend as the Tigers fight to keep their posion in the top four heading into the last two weeks of the season. Kalangadoo's Kirsty Egan will have to feed her goalies, Kori Collins and Abbey Duncan, with accuracy through the tough hands and defensive pressure of Tigers Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe. Madi Kelly and Michelle Robinson will need to stop the drive from Sophie Wrightson and Kirsty Egan onto the circle, hoping to prevent the ball geng into the Magpies goal circle. Lauren Kain and Reanna Wetherall for Kalangadoo will have to shut down Tantanoola's Emma Gould and prevent her from geng too much ball within the gaol circle, whilst also prevenng Jami Walker's accurate aempts at goal. Aer a well fought game Kalangadoo will finish the game with another win to their names.

Hatherleigh v Port MacDonnell

Glencoe v Kongorong Robe v Mount Burr Tantanoola v Kalangadoo

The Demons head to Hatherleigh this weekend to face off against the Eagles in what is set to be the match of the round. There will be lots of good match ups the whole way down the court, with every player on the court giving their all and wanng to gain every loose ball. Hatherleigh's Chelsea Galpin, Lara MacGregor and Demi Vanderhorst have proven to be a strong defensive combinaon and will work hard to force turnovers in Port MacDonnell's aack line. Port MacDonnell's Toni Gilmore and Brooke Williams combine well in goals and will need to be shut down by the Eagles defenders. Down the other end of the court the Bay's defenders Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine will work overme to shut down Hatherleigh's goalies Maddie Redman and Abby Wight. This game has the potenal to go the way of either team and will definitely be one to watch. Glencoe will enter round seventeen well rested aer last week's bye, ready to take on the Hawks at home. Kongorong's defensive line up of Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody have the ability to create turnovers and will need to work hard to prevent goals from Glencoe's accurate goalies Malinda Markiewicz and Jenna Paproth. Kate Wright on the wing for the Hawks will bale it out against Glencoe's Chloe Pfitzner and will have to feed to her goalies with accuracy around the Murphies' strong defence line up of Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks. Ashlea Edwards feeds Glencoe's goalies with accuracy from outside the circle and will be met by the pressure and strong hands of Sarah Lucas. Glencoe's experience and defensive pressure will prove too much for the young Hawks side at the end of the day, and the Murphies will come away with the points.

17 & Under: Robe 56 Kalangadoo 50. That's what we are talking about! I've never said the word “team” so much in one day but it was a terrific solid team game. The support for each other on and off the court was awesome. Each player played their role, whether you were on the court each quarter or not, it's not the point, it's how you support your team. The maturity of you all has come so far and it was fantasc to see none of you dropped your heads and kept focus on the main goal - to come away with the win. Sienna had hands down her best game for the season, earning her best player, her confidence in the ring was outstanding! Ella stood up as captain and kept her intensity at 110% for the whole game earning a well-deserved incenve. Tilly came on into C and fully changed the game, pung massive defensive pressure on the midcourt geng many intercepts. Maisie's drives were solid and her direcon on court was posive which help li the team. I could keep going, all in all it was great to see you all li and pull through as a team. Let's keep this vibe going into the next few games.

15 & Under: Robe 20 Kalangadoo 61. A tough day against a very polished side saw us drop our heads very early and unfortunately couldn't pull ourselves out of it. There were sll some great passages of play and we sll are playing with things we've learnt over the season. We sll have a red-hot chance at making finals, we just need to work hard. Best - Emily Dew. IncenveLucy Collins.

B Reserve: Robe 20 Kalangadoo 72. We again played the top end last week at Kdoo, but a valiant effort by all. How lucky are we to have talented juniors. Thank you to Sienna, Hayley and Amalie. We baled on and never dropped our heads and had some good passages now and then. The sun was even shining. Cass backed up with her second Calcua as she is loving WA and centre. Amalie deservedly wins my incenve for her reless efforts against polished goalies.

A Grade: Robe 41 Kalangadoo 52. With a tough game ahead of us we came out firing with an intense start. Sarah and Halle combined well together aer a couple of weeks off, with some tough pressure from the Kalangadoo defenders. Lucy worked hard and got out to all the centre passes with great speed and consistency. Ellen played a great game at centre, against some tough opposion! Maisie really stepped up and found her feet at WD, playing with confidence and great movement down the court. Once again Emma and Geo worked hard all game, geng lots of turnovers and making the most of every opportunity to get the rebound. Calcua went to Sarah and Incenve went to Maisie.

Awards: Dawn (Millicent Florist), Karen (Fasta Pasta), Faith (Café Melzar).

13 & Under: Robe 27 Kalangadoo 70. A tough game for the girls this weekend, playing one of the top teams of the compeon. We had a great 1st and 4th quarter where the girls showed strength and courage. It was great to see our eldest members of the team stepping up and using encouragement throughout the game. Our 2nd and 3rd quarter did let us down a lile bit, however we are happy with how the girls finished in the 4th, with their heads sll held high. In the next couple of weeks, we will connue to work on our fitness and encouragement to finish the season with a bang! We are super proud of the team's efforts and development this season! Special menon to Saskia who filled in for us as well! Incenve went to Kaitley for being a reliable player throughout the game and really stepping up her encouragement! The best went to Millie, who showed consistency and drive in both GS and GA.

17 & Under: Aer a week off, the girls came out strong leading the game 28-5 in the first quarter, great passages of play and quality turnovers, we managed to end the game 80-18. Awards went to Olivia Dean (Ducky's Surf), Jemma Bowering (Beauty by Hannah Fraser) and Mackenzie Job (Subway).

B Grade: Bad luck girls, disappoinng to see another loss on the board. We definitely had opportunies in that game to have a different outcome but unfortunately it was not our day Nangwarry's defence was strong but so was ours, although their goals were accurate. It was good to see pressure put on the ball down the court. Great driving down the court by Jaz. We need to work on our delivery of the ball in the circle and to take the pressure off the goalies. Congratulaons to Stacey for playing her 200th game. Awards: Ignion fitness - Jaz, Harper and Co - Lani, Since 56 - Lilly 13 & Under: Well done girls, a great game from everyone. The game was played in wet weather and we had to adapted early and we did. We sll need to have paence passing the ball down the court, and make sure the first opons, is the best opon. Stella and Holly worked strongly in the circle and shot some great goals, with strong rebounds. Becky, Callie and Lexie played tough defence creang many turnovers and making space bring the down the court. Sabina worked hard at WA and produced some lovely passing into the circle. Gemma put lots of pressure coming out at WD and got lots of hands to ball. Sophie ran hard all day through the centre and was always an opon on the circle, supporng the goalie with great passing. Super proud of all the girls. Thanks to Bec for scoring, Monique for ming and Lisa for umpiring. A big thanks also goes to Tess for being such a support to me and the team. A Reserve: Good job girls, we had passages in each quarter that we had a good run on in and we're consistent and able to score and get back within a few goals. A change up in the defence line at quarter me and half me, changed things up and Macca, Zoe and Kelly were all able to get hands to ball. As always Brianna and Amelia working hard in our aack line to feed our goalies. Leila and Jas are starng to get a nice combinaon going together Thank you to Oliviah for sing bench, Heidi and Zali for scoring and ming and Mandy for umpiring. Big shout out to my right hand lady Raelene for making sure everything is good to go! Awards: Macca and Amelia. Junior 2: The girls put on an amazing game last weekend against Nangwarry and showed some outstanding game play, with only 2 more games to go I think the juniors are tracking well and I look forward to seeing their performance next week.

A Grade: I felt like we were in control of the ball for the majority of the first quarter and we were on top of all our areas but we were our own worst enemy when capitalising on our chances and we were unable to keep this intensity for the 4 quarters once again, which made the task we were aiming for a difficult one. Although there were some great passages of play starng from defence through to aack we should be seeing a lot more smooth transion at this stage in the season. Let's work hard at training this week girls and come out firing today. Sassi AwardMadi Hagge, SportspowerLaura Schultz, Fasta PastaMaddie Gamble. Thank you to Allan for scoring, Lisa for umpiring, Aaron for ming and Tanya for being our primary carer

B Grade: Robe 20 Kalangadoo 63. Always a tough game going up against Kalangadoo and this one was no different. Took us the first quarter to get into our grove but we slowly got there. In the 2nd/3rd quarter we put a bit of pressure on and seemed to slightly rale the strong side. Calcua went to Emma Brooks for her excellent effort in GA and incenve went to Sophie Kokiousis for her reless effort in defence. A Reserve: Robe 38 Kalangadoo 45. Even though we didn't win we should be very proud of the game we played. To be able to pick ourselves up aer a couple injuries and regroup, is an asset to our team. We've got a few things to work on in aack and to remember our paence when passing. A big menon to our reliable juniors Ella and Maddie, great game girls, both of you proved you are more than capable to slot right into our team. Calcua - Kim Ross. Incenve - Ella Mackey

Thanks to Macy for filling in again.

Junior 1: Very impressive game lile magpies, it was wonderful to see you all giving your best efforts and using the feedback to improve your game. There were many great passages of play with lots of strong drives to the ball and some lovely shoong. Well done to award winners: Lile Pocket Rocket Ashley (Kaboom,) Milla (Baker’s Delight,) and Jorja (Wendys). B Reserve: Surely we are done with sickness and injury for the year! Hopefully they're done with us! Chelsea (Shelton’s Butcher) stepped up again in GD and did a fantasc job partnering with Gem (Alpha & Omega). Maddy (RSL) responded well to a snt in centre, WA and goals - giving Angie (Devine Gis) a well deserved break. Jodi and Narelle had an enjoyable partnership in goals with both showing improved accuracy

A Reserve: Last Saturday turned out to be a nice winters day. To all my girls well done on a well played game. Even though we didn't come away with the win, it definitely was one of our best games played as a team. You all fought hard and backed each other up. The composure on court was fantasc. Just two more games for the season, let's keep playing like we did. Best: Danni Vanderheul - Heaven on a Hanger voucher, Sally Peters - Gino's voucher

13 & Under: Once again I must pay tribute to the Robe girls who fought the game out to the end and provided good opposion - the scoreline did not reflect their efforts. Lucy (Baker’s Delight) played a boomer with strong leads and accurate shoong and was well supported by Kiersten. Ava (Fasta Pasta) led the mid court who all did a great job, parcularly in different posions with some nice passing into the goalies. Reliable as always Malda (Kaboom) and Molly (Devine Gis) experimented with some new defensive skills and showed they are both listening and doing a terrific job. Thanks again to our bench Junior 1 players.

13 & Under: We knew it would be a challenging game last week as Pt Mac are on the top of the ladder. Before our game we set 2 goals to achieve – to score a minimum of 10 goals and reduce Pt Mac's winning margin at the end of the game compared to last me we played them. Girls you pulled together and managed to achieve them both!

15 & Under: Good win girls. Chloe (Intersport) had a great game at C being available all down the court with mely intercepts! Shayden (Boost) presented well and adapted to all changes with ease. Georgia and Maya (DK Coffee) applied lots of pressure in the goal circle and created many turnovers for us. With finals geng closer we need to keep working on the lile things to improve our individual games and our team game.

B Grade: Well done girls, a huge improvement on our first game against Pt Mac, a 27 goal reducon in the margin! We can play some great netball when we put our minds to it! Everyone managed the changes well and we had some great passages of play. Bek enjoyed a run at the other end of the court, keeping the GS out of the game, before shoong some goals herself Laylah, Ffion and Alice moved the ball well through the mid court. Jodie shot well too. Let's stay disciplined on court and enjoy the last two games of the season. Tant 39 - Pt Mac 49. Best players: Bek (Ampol) and Laylah (Lima and Co). A Grade: A solid effort by the girls last week with a tough win. With a wintery week of trainings we managed to really focus right from the warm up and played the game with intent. Defensively, Madi, Michelle, Kate and Tay you worked hard all game and worked excellent as a unit. Your intensity didn't lapse all game. In aack, a great paent game played, Emma and Jami, you stood strong all game and Madi and Case did too. It was great to see a game of redempon since the last me we played them. A solid team effort. Awards went to Casey and Tayla.

17 & Under: A tough game girls that didn't end the way it should have with the 4 quarters of netball that we played. We had a strong start to the game with our defence line geng lots of hands to ball and put goalies turning those balls into goals. It was warm and as the game went on our fitness dropped off. You did well to sck with it and finish the game strong. Lesson learnt girls, let's move on and finish this season strong. You are a different team this last half of the season and each week you all make us proud of the team that you are and the netball that you play. 2 games le then finals! Let's go Tiges! B Reserve: Well girls this was not one of our best games. Unfortunately we let things that were out of our control dictate how we played. The silver lining was that there were no injuries as we all know how much Bel loves blood. We need to connue to work on our awareness on the court, and stop running into each other's space. Best players went to Kimberley Ferguson who played hard all game, Kim had strong feeding into the ring, even when she couldn't see over her opponents hands. Also to Kateesha Yates who worked hard in defence all game and got lots of turnovers. We want to see a lot more posivity coming into these last couple of games, that means not dropping our heads when mistakes are made, we need to learn from them and move forward. Onwards and upwards, girls let's finish the season off strong. Go Tiges!

Junior 2: The mini magpies had another impressive game with some great foundaon netball really coming to the forefront. Every single girl out there has improved every single week it is a pleasure to coach. Willow had a great game and showing she has really stared to understand defence and got best on. Then our lile game changer Gracie was on point again, with lots of changes and come away with second best. It's great to see all the girls really focused on their footwork now, with everyone doing great pivots. I was also very pleased with the big shoulder passes when needed. The girls are really starng to get that netball mindset, well done! Let's keep building on it for the last 2 weeks, with focus and fun being well balanced.

15 & Under: It was great to finally have a 7 side team against Pt Mac as we welcome back Isla from injury. We started our game strong and it was great to bring the ball out of defence beer than previous weeks. Unfortunately we couldn't keep this up for 4 quarters. Demi stayed in C for majority of the game as she has been filling this posion over the past few weeks and has become a valuable player to have mid court. Bethan was back in at GS and shot very accurately, while Grace sloed in nicely at GA and combined with Bethan well. Down in defence it was great to see Lani improving already at WD, intercepng the ball and bringing the ball out of defence nicely and defenders Isla and Kaitlyn listened and worked hard all game. Kaitlyn earning her the KFC Award. Kailah fed the ball well to our goalies and listened and adjusted to her players changing the way she led for the ball. This earnt her the Ducky's Sports voucher. Thanks again to Alexis for sing bench. It has been a crazy season but I can see that we have all improved. Let's get to trainings and keep it up for the last 2 weeks.

Final score: Port Mac 59 d Tant 10 – much less than the 85 we lost by when we played them last! It is such a great example of how much you have all improved over the season. We might not walk away with a win, but each and every week you are all improving so much. The movement down the court and into the goal ring strengthens each game. Only 2 rounds to go, let's see if we can connue to meet these goals each week! Awards went to Ebony Gardin (Shanks Engineering) and Tamika Long (McDonalds).

17 & Under: You would be forgiven for thinking this game was a finaland a close one at that. Another great team game, with all 7 girls playing their role and doing it really well. As a coach, the most pleasing thing to see was how you were all able to sck to your own cool, calm game for 4 quarters. If there were 7 awards you all would have scored one, however there were 2, so… the Terry White Award went to Soph who, again, just didn't stop. Too many intercepts to count and way too many plays created to count. The Paradise Pizza award went to Kori who showed such leadership again, direcng plays and creang endless opons in our aacking end. Thanks again to Shayden for (playing) last week, we love having you as much you love coming to netball on Saturdays - which may or may not be mostly related to the mini magpies around the club.

A Reserve: A solid team effort by everyone last week. Robe came out firing with quick transions that took our defence a lile while to adjust too but Shanen and Shanae proved over and over why they are such a formidable pair by geng sneaky intercepts consistently. Our feeding into our goalies started really well but with a bit of fague became a bit tougher as the game went on. However, Jamie, Anthea and Zoe connued to be paent and explore different entry opons. Estella and Maddy both shot well and moved fluidly against a tough and relentless Robe opposion. Plenty to work on in the coming weeks before geng to finals but can't wait. A Grade: Good team effort to turn around a sluggish start and then build momentum to finish the game strongly. A few uncharacterisc passing errors began to creep into our game, let's use our trainings to work on reducing these going forward. Well done to Loz, Re and Sophie for a great defensive game and ability to create turnovers. Aack line were again paent and provided some strong drives into the circle. Best players: Lauren Kain (Shelton’s Butcher) and Sophie Wrightson (Boost).

NETball

Junior 2: Fantasc day at Tant last week and the sun was actually shining. The girls all played fantasc, so many intercepts, so many contests and some great play down the court. We just need to connue working on passing to our first opon and quick passes. Awards went to Georgina for her consistent effort and for geng back out there aer copping a ball to the face/glasses. Our other award went to Nevaeh for her endless intercepts and great reading if the ball.

Junior 1: A great team effort girls against Pt MacDonnell. The court was wet but the girls looked aer the ball and pracced steadying before passing. The first 3 quarters were strong, with solid leads forward coming in front for the pass. Defence was outstanding which allowed the ball to get down to our goalies to score. The girls got red in the last quarter leading away from the ball, but overall was an outstanding effort. I love how as a coach I can give you all ps and tricks and everyone takes it on board. Once again every player played a ripper game! Only 2 games le for the season. Awards went to Apsara for her amazing defence and Renae for her solid effort throughout the whole court.

B Grade: It was a really good hit out and we had the opportunity to try a few different combos. Everyone gave 100% when they weren't playing in their normal posions. Schultz combined well down both ends of the court as always taking great leadership throughout. Rhi had her first game as on court captain, combined well with all different combos and took great leadership throughout the whole game. Em created great defensive pressure down the court and created lots of movement when moved to WA. Looking forward to the next few weeks and building on our skills.

Awards: Georgia Gray (Somerset Hotel), Charlie Muhovics (Since-Fiy-Six).

Awards: Georgina Hassell (McDonalds), Emma McGrath (HLC). Junior 1: Quite a physical game for the J1 girls last week. They had to contest hard by driving at the ball and pulling in the high balls. We worked hard to centre the ball, aer geng stuck too close to the sidelines in the first half Our dodges and front cuts worked well in the goal ring, and shoong accuracy connues to improve. Our defensive pressure all over the court kept Kongorong to a low score. We connued our high work ethic right to the end and our atude and encouragement was a highlight. Well done to Hazel for her dominance in defence and Kirby for her persistence and fight in the goal ring. Awards: Hazel Hamilton (Macca's), Kirby Carruthers (Macca's).

Awards: Lucy Corman (Somerset Hotel), Helen Hamilton (Kelsey Wight Fitness).

13 & Under: We made hard work of it in the first quarter, turning over plenty of ball but unfortunately making too many mistakes. The next 3 quarters we were able to regroup, make some changes and play as a team. Grace, Olivia H and Sienna all had great vision into the goal circle. Luca used her speed, driving strongly to the post, while Sylvie was able to use the ring to her advantage with both girls finishing off well. Olivia Beggs and Leni denied their opponents any space, creang plenty of turnovers. While Meeka and Olivia Bellinger boxed out under the post and rebounded solidly. A great effort by all. Awards: Olivia Hassell & Grace Andre (Macca's), Leni Carruthers (HLC). A Reserve: A great whole team effort. The girls seled quickly, played our own game. The drives into aack, using our triangles and feeding made it hard for our opponents. Lucy Corman, our quiet achiever of the team, played amazingly at WD, geng her hands to lots of the ball and making the WA word hard. Helen and Rosie, our steady ships of the team are giving lots of opons into aack and feeding beaufully. Millie and Sarah are playing havoc in defence turning the ball over numerous mes. The team is starng to come together at the right me, heading into finals. A great consistent game by all girls! Well done! Thanks Sam, Michelle and Liss.

B Grade: We played our home game at Tantanoola and the weather condions were perfect for netball. We started strongly and played a solid first half. We consistently maintained pressure across the court and we were rewarded for our efforts with our turnovers. We treasured the ball and used it to our advantage around circle edge, finding the post. Our transions down court were well med and impressive to watch. The work we are doing at training is showing on the court and is paying dividends. The defensive combinaon of Elivia and Rachel played their first game together and they worked extremely well. They posioned themselves well for defensive rebounds and intercepons. Georgia offered and re-offered consistently to guide the ball into aack. The aack line of Jess, Kelly, Candice and De passed, drove and re-offered. Moving the ball around to find the best opon. Paence was evident and essenal. We worked extremely well as a team and the court was well balanced. Let's keep pung the work in at training and reach our goals. Awards: Deanne Spenser (Taylor Made Hair and Beauty), Kelly Millard (Shipwreck Bistro Victorian Hotel Port MacDonnell). A Grade: We've had a very unseled last few weeks/month, which I think is really reflecng how we are playing on court. Having said that we did have some great passages of play throughout the game, but we need to make them great players more consistent. We need to ensure we capitalise on turnovers, which was our main downfall, we need to slow down and ensure we deliver the ball to the safest opon, even if that means throwing behind and starng again. Let's regroup and get back to hing the court having fun and playing as the team I know we can. Best: Liza Mutch (Victoria Hotel).

15 & Under: Wow we made hard work of it only scoring 14 goals in the first half. Thankfully everyone was on defensively. A few changes saw the flow return and we finished with a respectable 42 goals. Niah had a great game in parcular her last quarter, Kalli found her range and the shots started to drop and Eva connues to work hard on her game, always striving to be beer It’s good to see no-one drop their heads and keep going no maer how things are going on court.

B Reserve: Being warmed up ready to go, is an asset for us to start of strong like we achieved. Our persistence to connue moving and be there for each other was wonderful. Once we had the ball in the circle and turned to look for each other we opened up other opons. Well done. Jazzy received the Pick Ave Bakery Award and JT received Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro voucher. A big thank you to Sophie Lewis, Alicetyn Stanley and Layla McPherson for being there on our bench.

17 & Under: Congratulaons to Lara and Mackenzie on playing their 100th game on Saturday, a great achievement for you both! Once again, a new starng line-up and unable to sele as quick as we would like to. As per usual, a quarter me “chat” and off we go playing our best game, the catch-up. Luckily, your hard work paid off trailing from 11 goals behind to come back and take the win by 6. Let’s re-group and keep steaming ahead. Best players: Arriella Smith and Mackenzie Millard.

13 & Under: Well done girls and a great game by all, now that we welcomed Ivy Wilson back aer a 7 week long holiday it’s great to have a full side back. When we play our game it is a lot more controllable up and down the court. Our passes were so on, but we just need to remember to square up before throwing the ball as when we don’t square they don't make it to where we want it to go. Our foot work has improved so much, we just have to remember to stop as somethings we are doing is too quick for ourselves. Transions from defence to aack were spot on girls so well done, we will connue to work on the lile things and some more court structure from defence to aack. Some more aack and defence throw-ins, we will also do some more work just so we know exactly what we are doing coming into the last two weeks that will be tough games. Best players went to Lillian Pengill (Intersport) and Ivy Wilson (Fasta Pasta).

15 & Under: Great games girls. Right from the warm up you were switched on with your passes and ready to play some controlled skilled netball. Let's see if we can connue that form this week. Fasta Pasta best players Tia Moulden and Ruby

Awards: Niah Faulkner, Kalli Nele, Eva Thomas (HLC).

Awards: Demi Vanderhorst (Gino's Pizza), Lara MacGregor (Gino's Pizza), Chelsea Galpin (Somerset Hotel).

A Grade: We came away with a win which was badly needed to say the least. We were prey lack lustre for most of the 1st half managing to do just enough to keep our noses in front. Our second half was beer with a bit more flow and consistency. Defenders really worked hard and teamed together to give us plenty of opportunity to convert, we just lacked a bit in aack. To our credit we do scrap every game out but just lack a 60-minute performance.

17 & Under: It was just not our day. We really need to sele ourselves and create scoring opportunies off our centres and turnovers. Unfortunately, our passing and leads were extremely flat, and you could tell that all seven of the girls on court were as well. We tried hard to find some fight, but it was too lile too late against the accurate Kongorong side. Thank you to Kyah, Ayrlie and Eva for sing bench. Awards: Imogen Nowak (HLC), Dakota Hateley (HLC). Junior 2: We were up against tough compeon last week, which made us work hard. Our ball skills were much improved. We played ghtly all over the court, with everyone taking at least one intercept. Our ability to improve each week is amazing, great job girls!

TheMoodyPort MacDonnell Netball Club congratulates Keyarnah Smith who played her 150th game against Tantanoola last Saturday! Keyarnah has played all her netball career at Pt Mac and is currently a member of our A Reserve team. Big congratulaons also to Lara Wilson and MacKenzie Millard who both played their 100th game for the club. Both talented players of our current 17 & Under team who also feature regularly in senior matches. Well done to you all! We would also like to congratulate Bridie McPherson and Naomi Stevens who were both successful in aaining their Naonal C Grade Umpiring Badge last Saturday. We need umpires to connue to play the game we love and we are so proud of you both for taking this step to progress in your umpiring journeys. Well done! Junior 2: What a great game by all of the girls. You have all improved so much from the first game and it's great to watch you all grow as players, keep it up. We just need to work on coming in front when receiving the ball. Best players Ana (Donut King) your driving down the court was very good being able to help your team out and you got so many touches to the ball. BK second best (Fasta Pasta) great game keep on working hard! Junior 1: We had some good passages of play and some great intercepts. We need to work on our passing and geng in front. Keep praccing those court plays. I can see heaps of improvement. Fasta Pasta and Intersport awards went to Addi and Torah for their great defence all game. Wendy's award went to Daisee for her great movement in the circle and great shoong.

A Reserve: A pleasing result with a big win - well done girls. It goes to show that when we play paent controlled netball we reap the rewards. There was some lovely transions throughout especially in our aack line where we were able to safely and paently deliver the ball to score. We had some lovely strong hands and turnovers in defence which allowed to capitalise. Montanna and Keyarnah great job in stepping up and rotang the C posion - you girls ran hard all day in warm condions. Sarah and Cody connue to grow as a solid combinaon in goals and finished off well. Arriella and Kate, thank you for your connued support and efforts in helping filling our side, we alway know we get a solid performance from you both. Izzy and Kristy provided plenty of opportunies and opons with some great rebounding and mely intercepts. A well deserved win girls, you fought hard. Let's connue to finish the season strong. Congratulaon to Keyarnah Smith of playing her 150th game. Thank you to Lara and McKenzie for sing bench, very much appreciated. Best players: Montanna Millard and Cody Manning.

B Grade: We were looking for a solid team game and to keep that second spot a chance, but it just wasn't meant to be. With gastro and Covid hing us again we were two goalies down so Georgia swapped ends! The contest was a great bale all day and we played a much beer game than our last one. Lots of lessons we can take away from this game but the biggest is to sck to our game plan and not go back to our old ways. Georgia and Charlie did a tremendous job in goals for a pair that had never teamed up before let alone Georgia who has played one game of goals all year and Charlie who hasn't played GA all year! Nat was super strong on the wing, working hard all game and took a big hit in the last. Jas was working relessly as always in aack and defence geng hands to lots. It was a tough day at the office for the defence end with Kongorong aack line playing very well but with high intensity and persistence we were geng the upper hand. Meg got some great turns through the mid-court while Soph and Ella kept switching it up to get turns in aack. Unfortunately, a few things didn't go our way and we ended up losing by 3 but this will make us a stronger team for it. Thanks to Sarah for scoring, Linda for PC and Sarah B and Immy for sing bench.

Awards: Amy Haines (Somerset Hotel), Paris Schroeder (Caltex).

B Reserve: We started the game really flat; our intensity just wasn't there. We made silly mistakes and threw the ball away and Kongorong chased up many loose balls. It was by no means an easy game with the final score really not a true indicaon of the game - they really made us work for the win. Amy returning aer five weeks off really had a great second quarter intercepng on numerous occasions. Sadly, going into the third she sustained a calf injury. We all have our fingers crossed that she hasn't done much damage. Paris showed strength throughout the game and put up some great shots along with Nic and Sarah. The combinaon of all three is really taking shape, Staci our lile pocket rocket transioned from defence to aack and back to defence with ease and confidence. Lucy and Fee defensively really upped the an especially in the second half and created many turnovers. Thank you to Demi for sing bench, Jess for scoring and Sarah for PC.

B Reserve: Great game girls. We had a few not feeling their normal selves so good job to take the court and play like we did. Thanks to Kyla, Phoebe and Sophie for sing bench. Alex had a fantasc day shoong and Elly popped up some nice long bomb goals too. Tamika and Courtney worked well in defence geng lots of rebounds and making it hard for their shooters. Natalie, Stacey and Alisha worked hard as always through the centre court and kept the pressure on all game. The score was a lot closer than when we played them last so well done everyone. Awards: Courtney - Birdie Blue, Alex - F45, Tamika - Muffin Break.

Junior 2: Really good game girls. We have improved so much. Great shoong by Alyssa and Lily with her long bomb goal. Our centre court worked really well with Allara and Adele running centre and Sasha, Willow and Macca working well on the wings. Defence was strong with Meeka, Ava and Ashleigh taking some great intercepts. Best players were Allara, Meeka and Ashleigh (Kongorong canteen vouchers).

A Grade: 51-41. Great win girls –that's another game we have turned around from the first round and another step in the right direcon. We really came out strong from the start of the game and set ourselves up well with an early lead. Defence was on song all four quarters, creang a heap of turnovers and intercept opportunies. First best (O'Brien Electrical Award) went to Chantelle who posioned herself well to get plenty of intercepts and communicated well in the circle. Second best (Commercial Hotel) went to Malinda who presented strongly under the post and shot with great accuracy again. In reality we should have won the game by a greater margin and we just need to focus on the basics at training. Let’s really push ourselves to get the best out of ourselves for the last two games of the round. Thanks to Laura, Tameka and Alyce for sing bench and Belinda for scoring. A Reserve: 40-48. We went down by 8 to a team that played beer on the day. We had some good patches of play and had our best quarter in the 2nd, but unfortunately, we couldn't carry the momentum to finish the game. It was a hard day for our shooters who were up against a tough defensive duo as well as our own defence, facing several changes throughout the game and up against a new zippy goalie combo. Alyce came away with B&P Travel & Cruise Award with great driving and feeding into the ring and Tameka had a solid game in GK earning her 2nd best. Let's work on our voices and fakes as a team.

17 & Under: 29-40. Really great effort girls – we had some really fantasc moments where we transioned the ball down the court smoothly and were really paent moving the ball around the circle unl we got ourselves into a good posion to score. Our chasing up those loose balls all over the court was really excellent. Lily got the DeGaris Lawyers Award as she moved really well in the goal circle, making some really nice strong hard leads towards the ball and her defensive effort was excellent geng lots of touches. Chelsea was second best with plenty of ps of the ball which created many turnovers and your driving out of defence and being an opon was excellent.

17 & Under: Great game girls, really glad to see that we're sll pung in 100% effort and are able to walk away with the win. Best players went to Kate Wright - Fasta Pasta, and Bec Duivenvoorde - Lima and Co. B Grade: What a game girls! Safe to say you had everyone on the edge of their seats in the last five minutes of the game but we managed to get the points and come away with a three point win. Taylah, Billie, and Brooke provided us with phenomenal defensive pressure for a full four quarters and moved the ball down the court from the defensive end through the mid court with ease. They also managed to pull in some really great rebounds against some strong Hatherleigh goalies. Maddie, Scout and Milla provided us with strong leads and awesome defensive pressure through the mid court. They helped the ball flow down the court and provided some great feeding into the goalies. Sarah and Emalee moved really well together in the goal circle and provided some great passing amongst each other. They also shot well and managed to pull in most of their own rebounds. Great effort by everyone. Best players: Milla Buckingham - The Park Hotel, Maddie Bowd - Lima and Co. A Grade: Bad luck girls, we showed passages of play that were what we've been working on this whole season but didn't manage our goal of four quarters of consistent netball. We need to take away both the posives and negaves from this game and learn as we head into our last game of the season. Best on went to Sarah Lucas (Arena Sports Store) who we congratulate on her 200th game which she played intensely and relentlesslyThankyouto all the everyone that aended ladies day, it was a magical aernoon of many laughs and celebraons. We thank our ladies day sponsors in The Park Hotel, Lima and Co, J+M Party Hire, Sinkhole Gin and The Body Shop. Thank you to the premiership ladies that aended our 30 year celebraons, we hope you had an enjoyable me catching up with your team mates from many years ago.

NETball club notes kongorong

13 & Under: Fantasc effort by all the team from start to finish. The girls put the pressure on in the defence, giving Hatherleigh lile to no opons for passing! In the goals, between Rahni, Lacey and Amber, the girls put in a great effort to score as much as they could! The girls really had it together as a team, very proud of them all. Best players were Grea Doman, rewarded $10 thanks to the Angelino family, and Imogen Vandepeer was rewarded a $5 Kongorong canteen voucher.

13 & Under: 38-24. Wow – what a day, from injuries to sickness and most of the girls having to play two games, you all came out on the court and put in 100% which is amazing. Khloe Phillips (Dycer Construcon Award) you had an amazing game in WD geng many touches and turning the ball over mulple mes which allowed the goalies a chance to score. Layla Hawke you also had an amazing game – running in centre with your strong leads and hand pressure, earning you second best. Macy Williamson and Isabella Brierley had a great game in defence with many turnovers, both of your pressure was brilliant. Taya Bellinger, Violet Thorn and Chloe Childs – you all had a great game in goals with your shoong. There's a few things that we need to improve on like coming towards the ball. A big take away is that you can all do it – even when you are red aer playing another game!

B Reserve: 34-42. Bad luck – it was not the result we were aer. With a couple of players down once again, we found it hard to move the ball down the court. Hatherleigh had strong defensive pressure which we found hard to adapt to, however, we all held our leads which was pleasing. Let’s go into the last two games with confidence and I'm sure we will come out on top. Key 2 Sale Award went to Krystal for a strong defensive game and Bri for staying controlled whilst being pushed around all game.

B Grade: 56-40. Great game girls! We all came out extremely strong with a winning atude. The whole court pressure was fantasc causing mulple held balls and lots of turnovers. Sally (Plantaon Treated Timber Award) and Amy (second best) worked relessly all game shung down their opponents at every opportunity. It was great to see even with posion changes, we managed to adapt quickly and convert. Let’s keep the intensity up, train hard and finish strong coming into the business end of the season. Go Murphies!

Junior 1: Great game girls – we were making more of an effort to come forward, use the girls on the circle and box out in defence. Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award went to Emmy who did everything I asked her to do. Second best went to Jaylee who read the ball really well and med her leads. Hope you had a good week off as we look to finish the season off strong.

15 & Under: 30-57. Great game girls. Sadly, illness effected our team numbers significantly. Thank you to the under 13 girls who stepped up and played a great game. Montana (second best) played a good consistent game, re-offering and finding space and talking down the court. Allyssa moved well and shot confidently. Defence played well, Sienna Hawke (Maloney Plumbing Award) read the play well, remained composed all game and played a solid 4 quarters - she combined well with sister Layla in the 4th quarter too. Well done and for a solid 4 quarter girls and keeping up the fight right unl the final whistle. Junior 2: Another great game everyone! Every week you surprise us with how much you have improved! A couple of falls/hurt fingers but everyone shook it off and kept going, there was some great re-offering and listening and some great movement, passes and drives between everyone who played goals. Metalworx Award went to Abbie for great plays in the circle and good driving down the court. Lico Pty Ltd Award went to Billy – you had some amazing intercepts and encouragement went to Ruby for never giving up all game. Absolutely ripper of a game everyone, hope you enjoyed the week off!

Junior 1: Tough game against Hatherleigh. Our defenders did well with intercepons and rebounds, with our passing leng us down but overall despite the compeon we tried our best. Best players went to Claire, Sophie and Havvi. (Kongorong canteen vouchers).

15 & Under: Bad luck girls, a close game playing against the 2nd top team, we started out strong but unfortunately lost it in the last quarter. Great defence work from Kyla and Hayley, Thalia and Ruby worked well in goals shoong some sensaonal goals. Thank you to Paige and Grea for benching for us. Awards: McDonalds - Thalia, Hungry Jacks - Ruby.

During the final quarter Kalangadoo were able to build on the momentum of the third quarter with goalies Kori Collins and Abbey Duncan finding space and converng accurately. At the other end of the court the defensive pressure was making it hard for the Robe goalies to get many opportunies, scoring eight goals for the quarter. Kalangadoo finished the game strong defeang Robe 52 goals to 41. Round 16 at Kongorong saw the quality side of Hatherleigh take on the young Hawks at home in solid condions. The Hawks got off to a great start, turning over the Eagles first centre and shoong the first couple goals unanswered. However, Demi Vanderhorst for Hatherleigh was on from the second the first whistle blew, working hard in the circle applying pressure down the Hawks end of the court.
