Congratula ons to Brayden Kelly who will play his 100th A Grade game today against Robe. Have a great last game of the season!
Under 11: Another good ou ng by our under 11s. Really star ng to see some of the things we work on at training come out in games. Kids were playing full of confidence and used the ball well Tonight a er the last game of the season we have the reverse draw It would be good to see everyone hang around for a meal and a good me. There are s ll plenty of ckets le so catch up with Benny to grab one.
Junior Colts: We entered the game against Mt Burr knowing it would be a tough, close game. We were just thankful we had a game as with us lending a player to the Burr made it 12 vs 12. Thanks to all the under 11's who play up every week to make these games happen. Unfortunately we probably had our worst start to a game all year We looked completely out of sorts with players not manning up and making silly errors. We changed a few things around at quarter me and while there was some be er effort the game was ge ng away. The 2nd half was much more pleasing and we tackled well, made be er decisions and made our opposi on accountable but we ended up going down by 25pts. Best players were Calais, Blake, Benne , Wya , and Jack and Hayden. Special men on to young Dom in playing his first junior colt game, well done! football club
B Grade: Well that was a game we should have won but it wasn't to be. A couple of late outs didn't help. Thanks to everyone who stepped up. Congratula ons to Jayden Moore who kicked 5 goals. Once again thanks to the senior colts who put their hand up to play. Snake award Jayden Moore. Best: Hoody, Sco , Chappo, Jayden, Chris, Josh. Goals: Jayden 5, Craig 2, Vesa 1. Go the Saints!
Senior Colts: Another tough game against a top 4 side last week and while the result went as expected our boys certainly showed some good signs. It goes to show when we make the effort we can match it with the good teams but we need to do it for longer and more o en. Best players Archer, Wya , Peter, Calais, Ty and Taj. Going into our last game I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has contributed throughout the season. Tamara as team manager, Libba as assistant coach, Harvey as boundary umpire, Nudge for goal umpiring or me keeping along with Roy and everyone else that helped out - it is greatly appreciated

A Grade: Before the bye we faced a tough assignment with Mt Burr seeking to cement their spot in the final four. Mt Burr to their credit played a well-rounded game and outclassed us on the day. Highlight of the day was Joshy Mills playing his first senior game and he stepped up to the challenge of A Grade football. Best players on the day were Joel Virtanen, Josh Mills, Andrew Hyland, Jack Pudney, Ben Just, Trent Badman. This week is our final game for the year and we will be looking for a much improved performance this week as we take on Robe on our home deck, to round out a season where we have made many posi ve improvements on and off the field. Congratula ons to Brayden (Donny) Kelly on his milestone 100th senior game for Nangwarry. Enjoy the day Donny. It was great to see so many at the Red, Black and White Ball. How nice was it to dress up, dance and let our hair down. Thank you to everyone who supported the event. We hope you had a ball.

By winning this game it has cemented us in the finals at 4th spot which is great. We have our last game this coming week of the home and away season which sees us travel to Nangwarry. Hopefully we can play another strong game of football. The best for the day were Ant Kokiousis, Tristan Chincarini, James Kokiousis, Jasper Barri and Sam Heubner
A Grade: Last week, was our last home game for the season and we took on 4th placed Mt Burr. The sun was out and the scene was set for a great day of footy. Mt Burr were expec ng a bruise free holiday to sunny Robe, they got a rude shock. The Robe boys were in for a fight and weren't taking the game lightly. Although we are out of finals conten on, there was plenty to play for. We came out firing in the first quarter and you could see there was something in the water early on. Robe's tough inside midfielders of Jordan Pe and Tom Williams were beasts around the football and hustled the ball into our forward line and provided plenty of pressure around the ball. We went into the quarter me break with a 15-point lead. Our second quarters have o en let the opposi on sides back into the game. We only kicked 1 goal to Mt Burr's 4 goals 11. Mt Burr's midfielders of Dylan Ridley and James Wallis started to clear the ball from the centre and penetrate their forward 50. Luckily for us Mt Burr were wayward in front of goals and kept us in the game. We went into the half me break 11 points down. A huge half of football lay ahead and it was anyone's game. The last half was physical and fast with both teams controlling the football for passages of the quarter. Brodie Foulds was a man wall in defence for Robe and took plenty of intercept marks. Jasper Barri for Robe provided plenty of run and flair off half back. We couldn't quite peg back the deficit going goal for goal for most of the quarter. We went into the last break 10 points down. There was s ll plenty of fizz le in the game with both sides looking dangerous in passages. We unfortunately couldn't peg back the 11 points from the second quarter and this would be the margin at the final siren. I couldn't have been prouder of the lad's effort and put ourself in a good posi on to win the game. Footy is a game of moments and we missed out on some key moments. This week we take on Nangwarry at their own ground for our last game for the year. We look forward to finishing off the season with a bang!

A Grade: A er a slow start by us it was pleasing to come away from Robe with another hard fought win. It really was a ba le from start to finish with some good tough, physical football being played. Good to get back to Beachport Hotel Saturday night and give back to a club sponsor. A great feed and their courtyard is perfect for any occasion! Best players were - 1. The Milestone Man Dyl Ridz with a tough game, in and under all day and making sure he was doing everything he could for the win. Congrats again on the 150 mate, 150 of the best.
Junior Colts: Unfortunately last week I was unable to make it due to work. But I’d like to thank all of those who helped out on Saturday for the kids from Carol Bevan who was team manager for not only the Senior Colts but also did the Junior Colts. Frazer for coaching the kids for me as well, he is always happy to jump in and help me out and the kids enjoy having you coach as well mate so thank you very much. To all the volunteers who took on a role last week to make sure we had a game. Without people like this the kids don’t get to play so thank you all very much. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted but it was a ght match all game and the team should hold their heads up high. Best players for us were Charlie Bevan, Finn Woolston, Reed Gardiner, Deklan Brant, Rylan McKay, Logan Carr. We have one more game le for the year and look forward to finishing off our season strong. Cheers Tom Senior Colts: Last week we took on the top side in Robe and were outclassed by a very talented team. Geordie Whennan stepped up and took the boys for this game which was very much appreciated. Best players were Charlie Bevan, Calum Sparkes, Bradlee Lawson, Deklan Brant and Brock Sandow. Big game this week against Tant to get back on track before we head back to Robe for first final.
B Grade: A few late outs on the morning of game day didn’t help our chances of taking it up to a near full strength Robe B Grade side. What it did allow for was the opportunity for Dale Bowering to play his first game of the year, with son Je . From the opening bounce we were completely outplayed and we were never really in the contest. While we had patches of good play, the well drilled Robe team led from start to finish. At 3 quarter me the magnets were thrown around and it gave the opportunity for a few people to show something in an unfamiliar posi on. Best players for the day were Ben Ballantyne, Kody Bowering, Je Bowering, Shawn Evans, Braeden Thwaites and Tyson Langdon. We are looking forward to our final game at home against Tantanoola this week.
2. Young Rooster Gamble who’s faster than fast and really taken his game to another level this year. Run, carry and decision making was great for us.
3. Mr Football - Fiebs with his usual hard to stop performance on the wing, connec ng the backline to the forwards and always bringing the polish. 4. Jimmy Wal got in early at Robe the night before to start his prepara on and delivered a strong bash and crash game. 5. Big Smithy who delivered 6 on the day, much to his mother’s delight. Well done Hamish. 6. Fiji (Knife) who provided some big hits and solid pressure down back to keep the Robe boys on their toes the en re game. Next up we have Tant back at the Burr, looking forward to finishing the regular season at

Juniorpresenta ons:Presenta on – Sunday 11th September (a er Prelim Final) Senior Presenta on – Friday 23rd September, please see our Facebook page for further informa on. Under 11: It's been a pleasure coaching this young group of kids this year. Watching them grow and develop, it has been amazing. The enjoyment in their faces on game day is what it's about. From round 1 to now it's hard to believe how big the improvement has been. The way they can now work the ball down the oval without it hi ng the ground to the a ack on the contests. Against Kalangadoo this was on show. The future is looking bright with these young ones coming through. Awards went to Jack Rowe, Xavier Yates, Jack Sporer, Jobe Bell, Oliver Warren.
Today we celebrate a legend of our club with 'Marky' Bell playing his 350th game for Tant! Donk is one of the great club people, A Grade premiership captain, one of the best to grace the field at Tigerland (and in the league) and over the years was usually one of the last to leave the club on a Saturday night. To help congratulate Marky (and to celebrate the season) head back to the footy club for pizza and Adrinks.reminder about end of year
Junior Colts: Last week we came up against Kalangadoo and our boys came out with an awesome a tude and great a ack on the ball. We came away with a good win, captain Kaden Bell led from the front all day and had the ball on a string earning best on ground. Charlie Bromley played out of his skin taking lots of great marks and running and using the ball well, other best players in no order where Eli, Jedd, Evan and Jake. It was a great team effort and great reward for all the hard work our young side has been pu ng in throughout the year. Just like to give a huge shout out to Marky Bell who plays his 350th game today. Marky is always pu ng his hand up to help out with all the kids. Congrats mate, you’re an unbelievable clubman.
Senior Colts: G'day everyone for the last home game for the year we took on Kalangadoo. The boys got off to a bit of a slow start, while the Doo boys came out firing with a couple early goals. A slight momentum change came in the 2nd quarter but Kdoo weren't going away. For the remainder of the game the Tiges were chasing the lead they gave up early in the first. Bests were Ellis Cushion, Brad Scanlon, Eli Bowman and Jack Cytrowski.www.tantanoolafootballclub.spor ngpulse.net
A Grade: G'day everyone, for our last home game for the year we hosted Kalangadoo. The boys came switched on in the opening term, accountability was at a high standard against a classy Kdoo side. With some inaccurate kicking Kdoo came into the half 42 points up. At games end fa gued and sore bodies got the best of us and Kdoo ran away with a convincing win. Once again our colts boys are not only growing into great footballers but are being great young leaders in the club. Bests were Ellis Cushion, Zac Walker, Troy Ha , Ma Sorella and Alec Roberts. Reserves: For the last home game of the season we played Kalangadoo. Celebra ng David Langley's 150th game against a very tough opponent and unfortunately couldn't get the win. We had some great moments with plenty to take away and be happy with. Best on ground went to Darcy Hogan for great ruck work and forward pressure. Other best players were Chris McCallum, Tyson McGrath, Coop Hamilton and David Langley Find us on Facebook: Tantanoola Cory
Under 11: Again we had strong numbers in the under 11s. From all reports it was the best the kids have played all season, they played an a acking style of footy and it was great to see. Under 11s/Auskick will again be played the weekend at home, with Under 11s kicking off at 9 and Auskick at half me of the A Grade. It is ge ng bigger and be er week by week! Keep up the hard work Tys and Boxy!
Junior Colts: We came up against a much bigger team this week. Our kids were very under sized, however that didn't stop their endeavour, hard work and enjoyment towards the game. It's important we con nue to grow as a young group and listen to Coach Macca. The improvement has come at a fast rate. Cody walked off with B.O G. honours this week with a huge effort on the ball all game! Saturday was our strongest performance of the year, narrowly losing by 20 points. Senior Colts: The improvement in this group both as players on the field and young men off the field has been a delight to see over the past year and a half! We have got a really good group of kids together. Well done to the boys who claimed their 7th win for the season, running out victors by 70 points. But like the juniors, with sustained hard work and dedica on the development will shine through in years to come when they are playing senior football! Connor Gen le was awarded best player. Keep working hard boys, the results will come! Reserves: The B Grade lads most certainly got the pick of the condi ons at Tantanoola on Saturday which had a few of the lads reaching for the sunscreen. The game wasn’t really reflected in the scoreboard or the winning margin as Tant applied pressure to force some mistakes from Kalangadoo especially early in the game. Jamil Jones and Josh Searle con nue to get be er each week and improve a er injury which led to them being named best on ground. Caleb ‘Sauce’ Gibbs spor ng a new haircut was a real focal point at centre half forward and Aidan Auld and Jus n Mansell provided some really great run from the half back line. Hatherleigh have been the number 1 side all year and we welcome them to Kalangadoo this weekend. It will be a really great test for our lads and a good indica on of how we are travelling coming into finals.
Seniors: The Senior boys were once again clinical winning by 160 points. They're star ng to gel really well. It's an exci ng brand of footy we're playing. Kriegs and Benny Mules chimed in with 7 each. Mitchel Lowe, Bradley Auld, Lachy Jones, Ben Mules, Andrew Stone, Sam McManus were named best

As most weeks, there was no end of changes through the week, even Friday night when the most changes seem to happen, even the coach was on the out list so the assistant was brought into the hot seat. Unfortunately for interim coach Munro it was a bap sm of fire, 5 out between Friday night and Saturday morning, thankfully as always there was a band of 8 senior colts that run off and run on again to play a second game. Not much we can say about the game except for Hatherleigh haven't lost a game this year and they looked every bit of that well drilled machine and unfortunately, we were no match for them, and they took a very convincing win. Not the debut coach Munro was looking for but well done them, to coach and all the players for stepping up and playing a game. Best for the week was Raegan Clarke, Ryan Von Stanke, Adam Richards, Tyreese Newton, Isaac Na rass. A Grade: As big games go the round 17 game against Hatherleigh could have been one of the biggest of the year, that could ul mately end up deciding second on the ladder A er a few good weeks on the field things were looking brighter considering the senior players had been doing a fair bit of coach surfing for training venues to look a er the oval for match days. With the side ge ng a li le more consistent things were looking good for a great performance. A er an even start things looked promising for a hard-fought game and at the half Hatherleigh took a handy lead into the main break. In the second half the compe on for the ball was fierce and even though our boys were gallant, but they were unfortunately gallant in defeat, with Hatherleigh taking out a very nice win to ensure a top 2 finish with the double chance.

Last weekend we played Kongorong with some cold weather s ll lurking around and some good quality, tough football displayed in the penul mate round. We ended the day with 3 out of 4 wins.
Senior Colts: The Senior Colts faced a 3rd placed Kongorong side and were up against it all game. They managed to score a few goals in the 2nd half and have shown great improvement in the second half of the season. Unfortunately, we went down by 89 points in the end. Some fill-ins really helped to make a difference and it will be great to see them out at the club full me next year. One more game to go for the Senior Colts, let’s hope for a win this weekend. Best players were Fletcher Lawson, Digby Richards-Fennell, Nick Adams, Harry Mitchell, Aidan Hurley and Shane Longhurst. Thank you to all sponsors and volunteers for the year. Your work does not go unno ced, and we couldn't get through the year without you. Hopefully all our teams can finish the year with a win and then we head into finals.

Junior Colts: The Junior Colts started the day with a top of the table clash against an undefeated Kongorong side. We were looking to flip the script from our Round 8 clash where we went down in our only loss of the season. We managed to come out on top this me around withstanding a late charge in the last quarter where the Hawks kicked 6 behinds to our no score. If many of these behinds were goals, we would have been in great danger. This 10-point win gives the kids great confidence going into the finals where we will face Kongorong again in the Semi Final for a spot in the Grand Final. Best players were Tighe Hurley, Lachlan Brierley, Kallan Price, Connor Tweddle, Sam Haase and Kade Mulraney Thanks to Sarah and the social team who planned our first Glencoe-chella. It was a terrific night with fake tan to go around thanks to Geordie Shore Jezza.
A Grade: The A Grade were s ll on a high from their impressive win against Hatherleigh and probably started this game a li le slow. The game was very hot early with plenty of pressure on the ball carrier. Kongorong came out hard with nothing to lose as it was their last game of the year. We kicked into gear in the 2nd term kicking 7 goals to 3. A er half me it was a bit of a scrap with goals to both teams coming off easy mistakes and 50 metre penal es. We ended up coming away with a 26-point win to make it 5 wins in a row. We now sit 5th on the ladder a er si ng 2nd to bo om for all of the first half of the year and have beaten 2 of the top 4 sides. Tom and the boys should be proud of the turn around we have had in the 2nd half of the year. It just goes to show that footy is all about momentum and injuries. Best players on the weekend were Zacc Cocks, Patrick Mitchell, Dylan Childs, Aidan Hurley, Dylan Pfitzner and Tom Edwards. This weekend we take on Port Mac in the last home and away match of the year, hopefully the weather is kind to us all during the week and the game is s ll held at the Bay Reserves: The Reserves needed to win 1 more game to secure a finals berth and they did that by the virtue of a 24-point win. Kongorong were much improved since we last played them, and they put everything on the line in their last a empt to make the finals. It was a fierce game to watch and with a few players s ll out with injury Parrot will be hoping for a bruise free game this week as we prepare for finals in 2 weeks' me against either Robe or Kongorong. Best players were Jayson Finnis, Tory Weaver, Lachlan Hoch, Taylor McGrath and Josh Agars. McEachern

Mount Burr v Tantanoola
Kalangadoo v Hatherleigh
Kalangadoo's defenders Lauren Kain and Reanna Wetherall will put the pressure on in the circle, limi ng scoring opportuni es and crea ng turnovers for their team. Kalangadoo's strength as a team will show through this game and they will come away with another win, proving how they secured their spot at the top of the ladder Glencoe head down the Bay this weekend to play off against the Demons. Malinda Markiewicz is a focal point in the circle for Glencoe and when combined with Jenna Paproth they are a force to be reckoned with and Port MacDonnell's Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine will have to work over me to shut down their influence. The combina on of Toni Gilmore and Kirby Carrison in the goal circle for the Demons work well together and are fed well from outside the circle by Liza Mutch and Narelle Lewis. Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks are strong in the defensive circle for Glencoe and will fight to create turnovers and secure any rebounds from Port MacDonnell's goalies, with great hands over ball and movement throughout the circle. Chloe Pfitzner and Donna Jaeschke also have the ability gain intercepts down the court and force errors through Port Mac's a ack line. The Demons won't go down without a fight, however Glencoe will come away with the win. Nangwarry v Robe Nangwarry host the Roosters in the last match of the home and away season. Both of these teams have seen injuries this season, losing players in their teams for the rest of the season, but have had the ability to fill these posi ons within their clubs. Robe's goalie combina on of Halle Carter and Sarah Laurie are very accurate and will use any opportunity to score, even under the defensive pressure of Hayley Burner and Carly Ploenges. The Saints shooters Ange Pra and Tahlia Wilson will also work hard to score every opportunity for their team. Georgia Perkins and Ellen Ramke in the defensive circle for Robe will work relessly to put the pressure on for Nangwarry's shooters, both being an integral part of their team. Robe's Annie Hunter and Nangwarry's Ebony Lawson will have a good tussle down the court, both chasing any loose balls and driving hard for their respec ve teams. Robe will finish the day with the win.
Port MacDonnell v Glencoe Mount Burr and Tantanoola face off on Saturday in a very important game, with the winners securing their place in the top four. Mount Burr defenders Olivia Dean and Madi Hagget may be young but have shown their maturity this season with both players bringing strength and determina on to the defensive circle for the Mozzies and making any a ackers they come up against earn every possession. Down the other end of the court Tantanoola's Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe also combine well and put the pressure on for their opposi on, forcing errors and crea ng turnovers for their team. Tantanoola's goalies Emma Gould and Jami Walker are accurate goalies and are fed well from outside the circle by Casey Walker and Madi Kelly. This game will be a tough one and has the poten al to go either way, with both teams vying for a spot in the finals, it will definitely be one to watch.
A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW - ROUND 18 -
The Eagles head to Kalangadoo this weekend to face off against the Magpies. Hatherleigh's strong defensive combina on of Demi Vanderhorst and Lara MacGregor will work over me to put the pressure on the Magpie's goalies. Abbey Duncan and Kori Collins will make earn every possession and score with accuracy. Down the other end of the court Hatherleigh have had a few changes in their goal circle due to injury and could u lise a few combina ons but will be led with strength from inside the circle by Maddie Redman.
NETball club notes nangwarry
A Reserve: Robe 49 Mt Burr 23. We got the win but wasn't our best game. We managed to pick ourselves up and go back to our game and slowly peg away at our lead. Our juniors came on with confidence and helped with the change that was needed. We've got 1 week before finals and need to work hard to get that flow happening. Calcu a (Holiday) went to Keryn. Incen ve (Steve's Place) went to Hannah.
13 & Under: We had a reasonable start being a draw at the end of the first quarter. The game was full of errors and was hard to watch. We all started behind our players limi ng our op ons and wai ng for someone else to lead instead of going yourself. Mt Burr was the be er team and won the next three quarters. CJ played his best game ge ng a number of intercep ons winning him the Pines Hotel award. Award from previous week went to Paige (Penola Recycling) and Ella C (Baker's Delight). One more week to go. Let's finish on a posi ve and win or lose we need to concentrate on basics of netball.
Junior 2: A beau ful morning for netball. We went out with some excited girls. Coming up against a rather tall Mount Burr side the girls were a li le nervous but they gave it their all and did a fantas c job. The play they con nue to have down the court is so amazing to watch. The improvement from even just the first half of the season is incredible. Defence worked so well all game ge ng many hands to rebounds and ge ng some much needed turnovers. Mid court were great ge ng the ball down to our a acking end were our goalies got some really great points. Incen ve went to Lydia Aus n (second game ever) and the improvement from our last game was just amazing. Great work Lydia and a big clap for all the girls!
B Grade: Robe 29 Mt Burr 44. What a game, everyone played such a good game and didn't drop their heads. We went in figh ng and didn't give up when it was ge ng hard, if only our goals went in we might have come away with the win! Heads up for this weekend girls. Best players (Steve's Place & The Eighth Le er) went to Lily and Emma for both having a great day in goals and for their work around the ring.
17 & Under: Robe 36 Mt Burr 34. With a rushed and jumbled warm up with photos it was inevitable that our 1st quarter wasn't going to be real crash hot... but man did we work our bu s off to get our game back! Coming from 16 down to win by 2! What a thriller! Copping a spray from Alex at quarter me we all li ed and proved that we wanted that double chance to the grand final! Amalie played honestly the best game of her life earning a welldeserved incen ve (Pure Luxe). Ella had a hard slog in GA but proved to her defender that she was the be er player on the day coming away with best player (The Eighth Le er). Special shout out to my fave team voice - Miss Lexy. It's a tough slog having so many girls, we love you Lex and you're vital to our team. Keep that smile on your dial and onwards to the next game! We have so much maturity in our team and we support each other that's what is ge ng us over the line! As well as our killer netball abili es! Bring on Nangwarry and bring on finals baby!
17 & Under: A er a slow start we started to move the ball around with more pa ence and had a great second quarter, especially when we didn't force the lob. Defence got many hands to balls against a classy a ack line and really made them work. Centre area drove hard and kept working to get in front and move the ball around the ring well to find right opportuni es. Goalies kept posi oning to get in front and worked over me on some hard defenders. We had so many good patches well done, so proud of the improvement you have made this season, let's give it all today for our last game. Best: Montana and Skye. A Reserve: We got the win, however it certainly was not an easy one. We started the game well and were able to convert all of opportuni esourinto goals and won a number of turnovers which gave us quite a big lead. We were lucky we did have quite a head start on the Burr because they came out firing in the 2nd and 3rd quarters making us work hard for our goals. With both Cassie and Demi H not well they worked relessly in the goal circle. Jemma and Demi I never gave up and made the Burr goalies work hard for their goals. With one game le girls let's aim to work on the basic netball founda ons to ensure we make Robe work hard.
B Reserve: Robe 13 Mt Burr 64. A toughy to play but determined effort by all and no dropped heads. A nice swap around in the last quarter was a bit of fun for all. Thanks again to our mighty juniors Hayles and Sienna. Champions. Calcu a (Steve's Place) to pocket rocket Jess who “will go wherever I want.” Incen ves (Union Café) to Rhi for a magic first half and Sienna for upping it against a tough opponent. That's it for me as a coach ll the end of year fes vi es which will be a massive group due to 11 in the team and using 5 juniors and 2 fill-ins, jeepers. Good luck with your final match girls and thanks to Welky for stepping into coach/play and Pom offering her exper se in a second game for us.
13 & Under: Robe 39 Mt Burr 48. Unfortunately, we didn't come away with a win last week. It was great to see the girls mo vated and ready to run out the game. The girls gelled very well in the first half of the game, however we did run out of steam toward the end! It's great to see encouragement down the whole court. Millie shot very consistently the en re game, earning herself incen ve (Salubrious Smoothies). Whilst Tess earned best player (Union Café), working relessly in centre providing a strong op on for the whole game. We will be highly mo vated to get a win for our last game of the season! It's been super fun coaching these girls this far! The improvement has been amazing!
How is it the last game of the season already? Good luck to our 15's who are playing for a spot in the top four. Hopefully you get across the line. It was great to see so many netballers at the Red, Black and White Ball. How nice was it to dress up, dance and let our hair down. Thank you to everyone who supported the event. We hope you had a Haball.ve a great last game of the season!
A Grade: Well done ladies, in cold and very slippery condi ons we played some fantas c netball. We were pa ent coming down the court and overcame their zone defence. We played a short, steady game and it paid off as we were able to convert our goals. Tahlia shot beau fully. Defenders had a tough task in trying to stop their goalies from ge ng the ball as both were very accurate shooters. Everyone played a great game and we can't be disheartened by the score. We will keep working hard and con nue to play the compe ve netball we have been. Thanks Alice and Lil for filling in again for us, you both played well. Best players were Hayley Burner and Kylie Heaver.

Junior 1: Super proud of all 7 girls who played in such wet, wintry condi ons, the rain really didn't ease up for you at all. You all s ll managed to drive the ball down well and chase the many loose balls. Well done on the great defensive pressure down the court. Big thank you to our jnr 2s Leah and Zoe who filled in once again. Best players: Darcy (Athlete’s Foot award) and Keeley (Fasta Pasta award), who both combined well in goals. With some great shots and strong rebounding.
A Grade: Robe 40 Mt Burr 49. We knew it was going to be a tough game, which it was! We didn't start the way we wanted to, which shows us how important it is to be switched on from the start. We need to play our own game and have confidence in each other and ourselves. To our credit we fought hard and li ed and won the third quarter. However, we need consistency and that belief in ourselves that we can do it. This week we will come out strong, confident and will play our own game! Calcu a (Retail Therapy) - Annie and Incen ve (Me & Miss Jones) - Geo.
Junior 1: A tough game last week, but the girls gave it a good crack. Some great movement down the court although ge ng stuck in the mid court area a couple of mes. We decided on some changes at half me and most of them played in posi ons they had never or weren't comfortable with. They all went out and smashed it and had a really great second half Incen ve went to Henna for a ripper all round game. She worked reless in all posi ons she was given and got some fantas c turnovers. Well done to all the girls! 15 & Under: Robe 34 Mt Burr 40. What a bunch of legends you all are. I'm so proud of all of you, everyone put in 110% no ma er where they were, on the court or the bench. Finally, we got to see some determina on, want for the ball and best of all, smiles on your faces. Our defensive pressure was great, everyone using hands over balls and crea ng turnovers all the way down the court. This week we'll focus on ge ng the ball into the ring with ease and how to work our frustra on into something good rather than ge ng a li le bit cranky. Let's finish our season with a win and play in that first final. Best player (Union Café) - Kiana Brooks for her great strong driving all game. Incen ve (Pastry Place) - Emily Dew for her consistent game at C crea ng so many turnovers.
B Reserve: Wow girls what a turn around from our last game! Although we didn't have a win, it was fantas c to see everyone being super posi ve, pumping each other up and enjoying themselves. We had lots of great passages of play and we even managed to get in a reset and an air man dance. Great to see a lot less crowding on the court and everyone backing each other up, chasing up any loose balls. Best players went to Bri ney who applied consistent pressure in defence all game and Emily for her great movement in goals. Let's enjoy our last game of the season Go Tiges! A Grade: A solid effort by everyone! A game of many ups and downs but a credit to all of you for s cking at it and playing to the final whistle. Our defensive end is amazing to watch and you worked hard all game. We worked hard in a ack and played some smart netball, such a great game by all and awards could of went to anyone. This week Tayla Rowe and Michelle Robinson took home the awards. Great effort girls. On to the next one now! Big week ahead.
NETball club notes TANTANOOLA
13 & Under: Great game girls. This week you con nued to play well, with everyone pu ng in a lot of effort. We started the game very quiet, but you found your voices as the game went on. Remember, communica ng to your team members is so important when on the court! The defence girls were run ragged with lots of intercepts throughout the game, our rebound count improving as the girls in the circle used their height when jumping for the ball. Awards went to Peyton Bowman (Tant Canteen) for being consistent wherever she played and Summah Brown (Shanks Engineering) for great improvement in crea ng lots of leads.
17 & Under: The girls came out firing at the start of the game, with many smooth passages of play and numerous turnovers created in the defensive end. This gave us a massive 16 goal lead at quarter me. This lead should set any team up for a win, however the girls made too many unforced errors and let Robe back into the game. It was a disappoin ng result as this game should've set us up strong going into finals. The girls need to train hard this week and come to play next game. Thank you Lisa for umpiring and Tam for scoring. A Reserve: Wow girls! What a fantas c first quarter, when you put your minds to it you can play some outstanding netball against some tough opponents. As always Brianna, Amelia and Kelly give it their all each game. Zoe and Macca are combing well in defence and ge ng hands to ball. Leila and Jas are star ng to get there groove together and working well in the goals. We've got Tant for our last game, let's get out there and give it all you've got and finish the season on a good note. Thanks Caz for scoring, Mandy for umpiring and Raelene as always keeps everything organised. Awards - Leila and Jasmine. A Grade: Another tough game for us and we definitely rose to the occasion. Madi and Olivia were relentless in the defensive circle out rebounding the Robe goalies and intercep ng the ball at every opportunity. They were supported by Simone and Laura to make the most of these opportuni es to transi on the ball back in a ack. Laura played another stellar game in the centre running hard all game and crea ng turnovers and backing it up in a ack to feed Eb, Zoe or Sarah with pin point precision. Meg teamed up well with all our combina ons and caused many turnovers in the centre third and worked hard to feed the goalies. A wonderful team effort which is so good to see all our hard work throughout the season come to frui on. Thank you to Lisa for umpiring, Allan for scoring and Tanya for being our primary carer. Our last game of the round is finally here and this is what it's all about, a must win game to keep our finals chances alive. Play hard and give it your all and I'm sure you will be rewarded. Today is our last game for the minor round and I'd like to thank all our volunteers that have worked behind the scenes week in, and week out to make every week go as smoothly as possible. A huge thank you to our coaches, players, sponsors, patrons, members and life members whose contribu ons to our club are invaluable. A big thank you to the football club for another great year, working together for posi ve outcomes. Today is sponsors day so if you get an opportunity to thank one of our valued sponsors personally, please do so as their contribu ons benefit each and everyone one of you every week throughout the season.
Best players: Kim (Fasta Pasta) and Kirsty (Tant meal voucher).
Thanks to our major sponsors Laura & Vicki Hairdressing, South East Property Sales, Kimberly Clark Australia, Your Choice Conveyancing, Banner Mitre 10, J&M Shanks Pty Ltd, Sonya Francis Photography, All in Balance - Brad Tilley Tax and Business Advisory, Clark & Sam Fal ng, Komma Media and Igni on Fitness.
15 & Under: Our team had a hard and well fought out game in Robe. Robe stuck with us for three quarters with our goalies having to work very hard against a ght defence. Lots of changes in a ack, meant lots of talk was needed to se le and score. We had lots of great movement down the court and once again made short work of defensive turnovers. We need to work on scoring from our centre passes and using our circle. Was great to see us finally using our voices on court. Our awards went to Olivia Holland (Fasta Pasta) for her great control through the centre and accuracy in goals, Macey Burns for her second efforts in defence (Beauty by Hannah) and Tilly Gamble for her strength and strong body under the ring (Acky’s Deli).

Junior 1: The girls had a hard game against Kalangadoo. We all seemed very red last week, with quite a slow first half. We went back to the basics of coming in front as we were crowding. However they found their determina on again and picked up in the last quarter. We ended up pu ng in more effort across the court, resul ng in goals to be scored. Isabella received the award for her never ending smile playing and pushing through right to the end. We only have one game to go girls, make the last one amazing!
A Reserve: We were up against a very strong team last weekend. It challenged us and we forgot some of our basics like lanes and triangle. You all s ll put in and there was some great movement and play on the court. We had our two juniors Charli and Charlo e play and they did an amazing job, thanks girls. Best: Chloe McCallum (Tantanoola Ladies Commi ee meal voucher) and Sally Peters (Ampol fuel card).
Lynne Lambert, MBNC President Congratula ons to Ebony Clark for her 200th game today. Wishing you all the luck in your game today
13 & Under: Well done girls, another great game. In perfect condi ons we started off slowly, but a er the first quarter our game really improved. Our passing down the court was be er and looking at the first op ons, but the be er op on. Bring the ball out of defence is improving with each week. Our communica on to each other on and off the court is a posi ve part of our team game, which I love as a coach. Our last game of the round today, enjoy and have fun. Thanks to Jay for scoring and Stacey for umpiring. Awards - Lexi (Fasta Pasta) and Gemma (Subway).
15 & Under: Finally a full team back on the court. The Kalangadoo team we knew was gonna be a tough one, but we kept our heads up for 4 quarters with our last quarter being our best so well done. One more game for the season le . I would like to say thank you to all the parents who bring the girls to trainings and games. Also for the support with the li le jobs that need to be filled on game day. On behalf of myself and the team thank you for all the 13's who filled in or sat bench during the season without you we would not have been able to play the sport we love. Thanks also to Laura, Tayla, Jami and Emma for helping out with trainings and game day when I had to be in iso, a real tricky season but we made it to the end. Ducky's Surf Award went to Grace for her nonstop a acking and defending all game, Wendy's Award went to Bethan for improving with her leads and mee ng the ball.
B Grade: Well done girls on a great game. One of our best games this season. Great to see a lot of defensive pressure all over the court and there were some great turnovers to help cement the win. Thanks to Abbey for filling in and ran well in centre, Maddi and Lani worked well together in the circle, moving the ball around the circle and scoring well. Lilly having another strong game in WA. Another great defensive game by Jaz, Lara, and Stacey. Big efforts resulted in a lot of hands over the ball. Awards to Lara for Since 56 and Lani for Andy’s Bakery Thank you to Macy for si ng bench, Amy for scoring. Let's keep it up and get another win on the board this week.
Thanks to Paul Holland for scoring. B Reserve: Well done girls, great job. We played strong 4 quarters of netball and that is great to see. We have a strong bond between us all and that shows on the court. Last game of the round today, come out firing and finish the season off with a strong game leading into finals. Thanks to Jazmin for scoring, Macy once again for filling in and Lynne for umpiring. Awards – Kelsi (Harper & Co), Hannah (Denton’s Sportpower) and Georgia (Cafe Melzar).
Junior 1: Almost to the end of the season girls! It's great to see how much you all have improved throughout the year, in both your skills and confidence on the court. We did have a few injuries before our game but it was great to see everyone s ll giving 100%! Some great movements in the a acking circle, with some different goalie combina ons working together well. Our defensive pressure created many turnovers throughout the court which we managed to score from. Best players went to Hannah (Fasta Pasta) and Sydnee (Toy Kingdom).
17 & Under: What a well fought out game girls. You all put 110% out for the full 60 minutes. We made some changes and tried a few new things, but like always you impressed us both with your adaptability and strength as a team that no ma er what you, have each other's backs and can perform on the court. Charlo e, Bell and Chloe, you're holding, strength and teamwork in the goal circle was amazing. Tay, Holly and Charli worked their bu s off to get plenty of hands to ball and put the pressure on Kalangadoo’s a ack line. Megan, Eb and Jade ran and ran and connected our defence and a ack lines effortlessly. What a ripper of a game girls. Train hard, play harder. Let's go!
Junior 2: Last week we made the long trip down to Robe and were pleasantly welcomed by beau ful weather. The junior girls put together a wonderful effort, and delivered an amazing game against Robe. The girls suffered some minor knocks but all back up and fought on. Thank you to our beau ful Hannah and Emily once again filling in for us.
B Grade: Well played in what we knew would be a difficult game girls! Gemmah and Kim, you guys do an amazing job every week up against much bigger opponents, you get your hand to so many balls and never give up! Alice, Ffion and Leah, you did a great job bringing the ball through the mid court, always backing each other up. Kirsty, your drive and passing into the circle was brilliant. Laylah, you played another great game in goals, I think we've found you a new posi on for next year! We cut down the margin from our last game against Kalangadoo and that improvement shows on the court, well done! Tant 27 - Kdoo 61.
Junior 2: What a fantas c game we had. The first 2 quarters were good, but our third and fourth quarters were even be er. A lot of goals scored which is great to see. Our awards go to Lilly for always running and for some good intercepts, Myla for great leads and really finding space and to Daisy for having a good go at centre. A great team effort girls.
Congratula ons to Ebony playing her 200th game for the club today
Awards: Lucy Bell (Somerset Hotel), Demi Jones (All-Seasons of Beauty). B Grade: The first 3 quarters we couldn't quite get our mojo happening in a ack but at half me there was s ll only 1 in it. The third s ll saw us having plenty of the ball but we were just making easy mistakes to be down by 8 going into the last. With a big change, pu ng Georgia back into goals, the girls showed a lot of grit and determina on to claw their way back and get in front but unfortunately, we couldn't hold onto that lead going down by 4. The intensity and hard work we showed in the last was a true indica on of the team, we will look forward to the challenge to come up against Pt Mac in the final. Everyone played their part; we just have to stay switched on for the whole 4 quarters. Thanks again to Heidi and Stacey for scoring and ming and Linda for PC. Awards: Jasmyne Bellinger (Somerset Hotel), Soph Gibbs (HS&RC).
13 & Under: Pleasing to see the improvement of our basic netball skills since the season startedrunning, footwork, catching and throwing. S ll struggling a li le with choosing correct pass or right op on but now recognising the difference. Also understanding the importance of including all team members, taking a turn on bench for others to qualify. Awards to Lucy (Hungry Jacks), Lexi (Kaboom) and Emmity (Devine Gi s). Best players: Molly, Ma lda and Ava.
17 & Under: Another great team game where we all adjusted to new combina ons quickly. Also another game where I wouldn't have minded a few extra awards to hand out - it's hard to pick when you all play like you do! Kori (Boost) again showed great leadership and resilience in a ack. Allara was incredible in the goal circle, moving well and providing a number of op ons for our a acking end. Jenna and Soph were again clever with passing into the ring, showing great pa ence, with great drive down the court. Ebony (Hungry Jacks) was her classic self - never giving in and was rewarded with a huge number of intercepts. She was well backed up by Abby and Savannah. Let's finish the season on a high and bring the same intensity we have had over the past few rounds to our last match. Thank you to Molly and Gabby for helping out.
A Grade: We an cipated a tough match and were unfortunately unable to maintain the intensity for four quarters to come away with a win. The Duncan's were inspired from the first whistle by the Terry White Pharmacy award, and both had solid performances. Defence provided great pressure through the midcourt and a ack worked relessly. Best players: Lauren (Terry White) and Abbey (RSL).

17 & Under: A very solid and consistent four quarters of netball. We kept levelheaded and finally understood the importance of the one-percenters. Our teamwork was so impressive, as well as our talk and posi ve vibes down the court. Our goalies shot very well, and once again our defence picked up countless balls. Special men on to Niah Faulkner for once again just being a gun.
Junior 1: The li le magpies came out firing last Saturday and everyone played with a huge level of intensity. This team has improved beyond measure every week and I am so pleased with all of the girls. The footwork concentra on from everyone is amazing. Ella's passing con nues to amaze me and the intercepts from Ash and Ma lda con nue to come. Milla and Georgia shot well and made use of our quick turnovers. One more game for this exci ng li le bunch, can't wait.
B Grade: It took us a li le bit to se le and we had a few scrappy moments but we were able to regroup and keep pushing. We s ll have a few things that we are needing to work on moving into finals to be able to have a great hit out. Emily has a great game crea ng many turnovers with great pressure down the court. Meg running a controlled mid court game as well as crea ng mul ple turnovers when moved into WD Ebony had her first game with us and very controlled and created lots of plays.
13 & Under: We applied solid defensive pressures all over the court, however, just couldn't convert the turnovers. We work hard, taking plenty of intercepts and then our passing lets us down. Going short first (when we get a rush of blood) and being pa ent is the key. We had a good 2nd and 3rd quarter, being able to find some rhythm, front cu ng hard and mee ng the ball. Although we didn't get the win, it was a huge improvement on last me we played. Our tenacity and willingness to neve give up, is our best asset. Awards: Luca Hamilton, Leni Carruthers and Olivia Hassell (HLC), Meeka Hales (Infigen).
Junior 2: What a solid four quarters. It was great to have everyone back on deck working hard, focusing for four quarters, and pu ng in 100%. We opened up the court, used our dodging skills to help us meet the ball and had some cracking shoulder passes. The defensive pressures of everyone was amazing, we didn't give our opponents any easy balls.
B Reserve: We came out more focused than previous weeks and started playing netball in the first quarter. Our intensity for four quarters was solid and everyone really dug deep. Pt Mac were tough and a really strong side. Even though we went down by 3, it was a great game of netball, and everyone had great passages of play. Lucy played one of the best games of netball I have seen this season, she turned over many and rebounded strongly. We had Demi Jones come up from the 17's and she played 3 quarters of a game in GK, she played amazingly her nerves didn't show as she really rose to the occasion. It was good to see Jo back playing a er returning from injury and had a solid run in WD intercep ng many balls. We have another really hard game ahead of us this week and its going to require everyone to go into the game posi ve and with the passion and determina on its going to require to make finals. Thank you to Niah for si ng bench, Jess for scoring, Anake for ming and Sarah for PC.

Awards: Myla Bowman & Kaia Green (HLC), Poppy Bowering (McDonalds).
15 & Under: A solid win in the end, for some reason we seem to struggle to find any flow against Pt Mac. We didn't really help our cause with our turnovers, leads and passing need to be worked on asap. To everyone's credit we kept our work rate high gaining plenty of possession and did enough to keep our lead throughout the game. Kalli shot beau fully and used the circle well. Niah gained plenty of ball, maybe just needs to slow up a bit with release. Eva keeps working hard to improve her game and is playing well at WA. One game to go before finals so lots of things to con nue to improve on. Thanks to Liv Baker for helping out and Poppy and Leni for si ng bench. Awards: Niah Faulkner, Eva Thomas (Igni on Fitness).
15 & Under: We started off on fire with our defence ge ng lots of the ball and our goalies conver ng every opportunity. Molly (Hungry Jacks) looking very tall took some tough balls. Kiera (Wendy's) worked hard in WD and WA always trying her best. It's ge ng to the pointy end of the season, so we need to make sure we are pu ng in the extra effort at training and at home. A Reserve: Amazing effort by everyone on the court last week. Maddy and Estella found their groove early in the first quarter and shot well with Anthea for the en re game. With such a huge number of shots it is only fair to give credit to our circle defence and mid court pressure. Lucy, Jamie, Chloe and Zoe con nue to put improve their team work as a defensive unit. Shanen and Shanae have con nuously improved their team work and take on board every li le instruc on given. Looking forward to a tough game next week before a week off B Reserve: A must win game for us a er our first encounter loss to secure second spot. The game was played in a clean, very friendly yet compe ve spirit - thanks to all players on court! Must say it was a pleasure not having any complaints about any opposi on players at any me during or a er the game. Also pleasing our players carrying injury got through the game unscathed. Thanks for si ng bench Ebony, hope you enjoy your me with B Grade girls. Awards went to Maddy (Terry White Chemist), Angie (Sheltons Butcher), Chelsea (Boost) and Emily (Devine Gi s). Have to men on shoo ng machine Jodi and her partner in crime Relle (loading the bullets so to speak!).
A Grade: Wow what a game from the girls. Down to 6 players before the first whistle we grabbed Rosie straight from a solid game in A Res to plunge her in the deep end at GS. The impact was immediate teaming beau fully with Maddie. Both girls shot with accuracy and moved with speed to open up the circle. Tegan and Erin kept the a ack line open and found space at will. Once again, our defensive pressure line of Chels, Lara and Demi were on point and smothered the Pt Mac a ack. Niah made her A Grade debut and a er a nervous couple of minutes moved really well. Well done, Nize. Everyone played with a confidence that's been missing and the result showed this. Once again, a big thanks to Rosie, Niah and Lize for helping us out. Kelsey for scoring and Casey for ming. Awards: Rosie Ne le (Somerset Hotel), Tegan Telfer (Igni on Fitness). A Reserve: We started very scrappy and undisciplined, causing contact, and not ge ng our 3 feet. Once we took a breath and calmed down, we started to play our own game. Immy and Eliza worked well in the goals with Helen and Rosie driving and giving lots of op ons coming into a ack. Millie, Sarah, and Lucy made Pt Mac work for every ball. Everyone was very consistent, a whole team effort. Well done to Rosie who killed it in A Grade a er playing a full game in A Reserve. Congratula ons to Niah making her debut in goals! Both up and coming stars to watch in the future. Thanks Sam for scoring, Alirah for ming, Liss and Michelle. Awards: Helen Hamilton (Somerset Hotel), Eliza Mewe (HS&RC).
Junior 2: Well done my mini magpies! That was my last game to coach you wonderful girls and boy it was a great game. I am so impressed with everyone's improvement throughout this whole year and season. It has been a pleasure to facilitate, and I am so grateful, so thank you! Adelle and Olivia came away with the choccies with great games and strong leadership. What I have no ced is the founda on netball is definitely set and you girls are well and truly on your way to being amazing netballers. Keep up that amazing work, work hard and have the best me in your last game. I will definitely see you for presenta ons and breakup! And throughout the finals.
Junior 1: The J1 Eagles really stepped up last week against Port Mac. Standing some taller girls, they learnt quickly they had to get in front and meet the ball. Goal shoo ng accuracy has improved so much throughout the year, and I'm pleased to see the girls shoo ng from above their heads. Passing around the ring enabled goalies to improve their posi on for the shot. We led into space all day and our defensive pressure was relentless. The voice and encouragement was great to see, and our posi ve a tude as we manage rota ons with 9 players. Awards: Tilly Prouse, Arabella Hassell, Paige Walters, Mollie O'Connor and Alirah Bowman (Infigen).
Awards: Kalli Ne le (Corner Clip), Halle Marino (HLC).
B Reserve: 54-32. A good win girls. It was great to have a full team for the first me in a while. We had a few posi onal changes throughout the game but everyone adapted well to them. We moved the ball well down the court with our goalies shoo ng well. Key 2 Sale Award went to Julia for a great game in GS and second best to Lydia for great feeding into the circle. Let’s go out hard today as we have nothing to lose and get a win on the board to try and cement a spot in the finals.
Junior 1: It's great to see so much improvement in the girls’ game. Our defence is ge ng ghter and our a ack is looking for space. Once we ghtened up on our stepping our game flowed a lot more. Kia came into the game in the last quarter reading the ball well and ge ng finger ps to many balls earning her the Fasta Pasta award. Let's enjoy our last game and remember all the things we prac ce at training.
B Reserve: The game was a ght contest but required for us heading into finals. The extra effect to keep moving and working the ball around to gain the right posi on paid off Remember to steady and breath. It was a great team effort! Our great start, is what help us win. Keep pushing your efforts and take control of the ball into a ack for every quarter. Heading into this week give your all. Robyn received the Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro Award and Fiona received Taylormade Hair & Beauty voucher. Thank you Bridie, Jazzy and Ali for being on our bench and stepping on when required.
B Grade: 85-27. A great team effort ladies – everyone stepped out on court ready to play. It was excellent to see even with changes during a quarter with injury, we all adjusted quickly and converted most opportuni es. Sally (Planta on Treated Timber Award) and Hayley (second best) created a lot of turnovers to see them in the best. Let’s con nue to work hard at training and keep the voice up on court. Go Murphies!
Junior 1: Great game girls - the first half of our game was quite rushed and scrappy but we se led a er half me and played some really good netball. Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award went to Hallie for moving really well in the circle and reading the play to pick off some really good intercepts. Second best went to Emma for some really great defensive pressure and for making the effort to come front even when exhausted from playing centre. Encouragement award went to Emmy for spreading out and applying all the li le ps during huddles. Let’s finish off the season strong in our last game! A Grade: 74-32. Good team game girls. We had some amazing passages of play. Defence on the centre pass was working really well on the first phase –we just need to remember our second part! Big thank you to Laura (Commercial Hotel Award) for playing two full games at GA and con nuing to drive hard all game despite how red you may have been. Malinda (O'Brien Electrical Award) had a fantas c game in the goal circle shoo ng extremely accurately. It was great to see our en re defence end having a fly and successfully taking a heap of intercepts. Let’s push really hard today in our final game of the home and away season.
15 & Under: 38-15. Well done girls, but it took a li le while to se le and play our game. Many turnovers but we were unable to reward the turnovers with goals. Each quarter brought a different combina on. Montana played a great game (Maloney Plumbing Award), she re-composed herself a er a tough second quarter and never gave up. In the last quarter she went back into GA and provided great drive and opened the circle. Maddy (second best) played well in defence get ng hands over the ball and applying pressure. Maddy kept running hard and fed the goalies well in the last quarter. Sienna transi oned very well from shooter to defence and making the shooter work hard for posi on and not allowing the lobs over. Great game girls.
13 & Under: 47-8. What another great game again by everyone last week. One of the best games you've all played this year! Our pressure all over the court was amazing. Although we got red towards the end of the game, it was great to see each and every one of you keep pushing. Dycer Construc on Award went to Ruby, for a great 4 quarters in defence, ge ng so many turnovers and encouraging her teammates to keep pushing when we got red. Second best went to Bella for such a strong game in wing defence, adjus ng well to your game, allowing for many turnovers and allowing the goalies to score. Chloe Childs received encouragement award for outstanding shoo ng, and great moving in the goal circle. Well done girls, let’s come out strong against Pt Mac this week.
The defensive combina on of Elivia and Rachel worked extremely hard and had touches, deflec ons and intercep ons. Georgia's drive from defence enabled us to clear the ball into a ack. Direc on and communica on throughout the court was cri cal to maintain pressure and possession. McKenzie and Tamzyn slo ed in beau fully, they added defensive pressure and variety to our game play. Well done everyone! Awards: Deanne Spencer (Shipwreck Bistro Victorian Hotel Port MacDonnell), Rachel Johnstone (Bay Pizzaria Port MacDonnell).
13 & Under: What a determined and posi ve start to the game. The ball was well passed by Ivy and Isla into the goalies. Everyone did their jobs and worked hard to gain turnover ball. I was impressed by the pressure in the mid-court, especially the three feet and hands up over the ball. This helped the defence of Mia and Layla intercept the ball. The passages of play down the court were well med and the ball was delivered into the a ack line with accuracy by Bailee. Lily and Kasey found space in the goal ring and worked extremely well together to score. Chelsea and Lillian applied pressure in the defence and had great touches and had strong hands to the ball. Keep working on your court plays and perfec ng your skills at training. You have all grown so much over the season and should be proud of all your efforts. Fasta Pasta: Kasey McClean, Fish Chip Shop Port MacDonnell: Ivy Wilson. Junior 2: Second to last game was a great game. We started off very strong, the defence got lots of turnovers and we were able to bring it down the court and finish with a goal. Keep up the hard work as we come up to our last game. Let's go out and have some fun for our last game and enjoy our netball. Best players went to BK (Wendy's), second best Des ny (Hungry Jack’s). Well done girls! B Grade: Warm playing condi ons as we played Hatherleigh. We started off strongly, we le everything on the court. It was physically and mentally tough as Hatherleigh were formidable opposi on. Kelly and Jess worked relessly together to find posi on under the post. Both goalies shot beau fully. Accurate passing into the goalies by Candice and De on circle edge was spectacular to see. The court was well balanced and everyone did their preliminary work to gain and maintain possession. Using the ball effec vely in a ack enabled Kelly and Jess to fine a strong scoring posi on. Jess posi on well and drove strongly into the goal ring finding space and finishing strongly. Our defensive effort across the court was rewarded as we maintain possession and treasured turnover ball. Timely intercep ons in mid-court were taken by Jess, De and Elivia. This enabled us to maintain our lead.

17 & Under: 29-30. A great team effort girls – the game went right down to the final whistle and the result could have gone either way – unlucky to go down by 1 goal. All of you stayed posi ve all game and supported each other right un l the end. Defenders once again teamed well together and worked hard all game winning plenty of ball and rebounding strongly. Down our a ack end when we kept the ball short, flat and pa ent we were able to create many scoring opportuni es. Chelsea earnt the DeGaris Lawyers Award –every week she con nues to posi on herself well to create numerous turnovers. Zoe M was second best who works relessly through the middle in both a ack and defence every single game.
17 & Under: We really need to start kicking into gear for finals, they are right around the corner and we s ll have so many things to get under control. Every week you like giving yourselves a challenge and find it fi ng to be trailing at quarter me. 4 consistent quarters is what we are looking to achieve. Composure will get us across the line, if we play like we know we can. Let’s grind hard and push to the end, we have a few big games coming up.
A Reserve: 61-47. Well done girls on winning more than last me we played them – it was a great team effort. Tameka best game yet – it was so pleasing to see your progression from playing away from the player where you were able to read the play and then capitalize on those intercepts. Sam (B&P Travel & Cruise Award) –great game with so many touches again and driving out of defence cleared lots of space. Zoe and Alyce –you guys are ge ng so much be er at working together and reading off each other. Your posi oning on the circle was much be er last week, just make sure you don't hesitate with your feeding as both you are very good passers. Abbie (second best) and Laura – great shoo ng and moving, make sure you both aren't moving too much and we need one holding as well. Really good team effort and great patches of play, as we are heading into finals it’s important to keep our talk up and con nue to li each other up so we can push for all 4 quarters.
15 & Under: Great first 3 quarters of netball girls, we just let it slip a li le bit in the last. Your pressure all over the court was strong. We need to remember to come forward to the ball and push our passes into the space.

Junior 2: Another great game last week. Everyone has improved so much since the last me we played against them. There was great re-offering and great movement down the court, passes and drives down the court between everyone. Metalworx Award went to Holly, you were coming to the ball and got a lot of touches. Lico Pty Ltd went to Indi who was making leads to the ball and yelling for the ball when she was in front. Encouragement went to Ka e as she got a lot of touches, was in front, leading out to the ball when she was in front and yelling for the ball when she was in front. Good game girls and boy you should be proud of yourself in how much you guys have improved.
The last quarter didn't disappoint with both sides figh ng hard for every ball but it was the Tigers who came out firing. The home side made changes with Gould coming out to goal a ack and Jami Walker back to goal shooter which kept Kalangadoo's defensive unit busy The Tigers weren't going away without a fight and the hands over pressure in the goal circle by Tayla Rowe and Kate Bromley saw some missed shots by Kalangadoo's goalies and the Tigers intensity had li ed another gear taking some crucial rebounds in the final term. A high pressure quarter from the Tigers saw them outscore the visitors and level the scores 49 a piece at the final whistle. Neither side made changes going into the second quarter and it was much like the first. It was Kalangadoo who were able to turn ball over with some impressive defensive midcourt pressure and didn't waste any me conver ng it in the goal circle. Kalangadoo extended their lead going into half me up by 4.
Kalangadoo made changes going into the third quarter with Georgia Gen le having a rest and Chloe Peacock coming on at wing defence to try and slow the ball down in the Tigers a ack line which seemed to pay dividends for them. Defensive efforts from Lauren Kain and Reanna Weatherall saw them turn over crucial balls for their side and extend their lead to 6 going into the final break.
Best players - Robe: Annie Hunter, Georgia Perkins; Mt Burr: Laura Schultz, Madi Hagge .
Best players - Hatherleigh: Tegan Telfer, Lara MacGregor; Port Mac: Lara Wilson, Liza Mutch. Robe 40 lost to Mt Burr 49 Robe found it hard to se le in their a ack line with some poor decision making, which saw Madi Hagge and Olivia Dean capitalise on any possible turnovers. Robe needed to li their defensive pressure but had passages of great play when they worked together and gained confidence, however Mount Burr once again won the quarter by 3 goals, with the score being 19 to 27 at half me.
The Tigers won the toss and chose the centre pass which they u lised well through Emma Gould who put her sides first score on the board. Kalangadoo responded much the same through their goalies who weren't was ng any me with the ball with precision feeding from Jayde Peacock and Sophie Wrightson. The quarter went goal for goal with both sides not giving an inch but it was Kalangadoo who were able to turn ball over and convert through accurate shoo ng from Abbey Duncan. The two sides went into the first break with just three goals separa ng them. Best players - Tantanoola: Michelle Robinson, Tayla Rowe; Kalangadoo: Abbey Duncan, Lauren Kain.
ROUND 17 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW
The Hawks made some changes heading into the second half; Lyl Page entered the game at Goal Defence, R. Buckingham moved back to Goal Keeper and Sarah Lucas le the court. The Glencoe side remained unchanged. Kongorong's defence li ed their intensity in what was their last half of netball for the season. The pressure applied by Lightbody and Page created opportuni es for R. Buckingham to have a crack at balls coming down court. L. Edwards steadied the a ack end for the Murphies; con nuing to drive hard to post and draw a defender to free up Markiewicz. The work rate of Glencoe's Donna Jaeschke and Kongorong's Rach Perry was a constant for their sides; with both driving strongly in a ack and ge ng hand to ball in defence. In a much ghter quarter the Murphies extended their lead by only 4 goals. Best players - Glencoe: Malinda Markiewicz, Laura Edwards; Kongorong: Emily Lightbody, Riley Buckingham. Hatherleigh hosted Port Mac in their last home game for season and they took the points comfortably. In what started with a late withdrawal from Georgia Hunter due to an ankle injury before the game, they were addi onally without Abby Wight who also missed the game with an ankle injury. This made way for Rosie Ne le to step up and take on the GS bib a er playing a full game of A Res.
The home side wasted no me at all coming out strong and controlling the first quarter, the home side's a acking line played with pa ence as once again they were faced with a new combina on but their pa ence paid off as they were able to find great space and convert easily. The Eagles applied heavy defensive pressure early on and were able to focus Port Mac into crea ng errors, which saw the home side take a 7 goal lead going into the first break
The13-7second term saw changes for Port Mac with experienced goalie Toni Gilmore to bench and she was replaced with Kirby Carrison. The home side stepped up a level and con nued their dominance from end to end. Maddie Redman and Rosie Ne le were working well together and were able to find great space and convert. Port Mac con nued to work hard to transi on but Hatherleigh's defence had all the answers. Hatherleigh extended their lead in the quarter going to the main break with a 20 goal Goinglead.into the last quarter the last term Hatherleigh con nued to push on, Port Mac con nued to work hard and applied pleasure all down the court. Port Mac's Liza Mutch ran hard all game for her side and was able to create some turn overs for her team. Half way through the last quarter saw youngster Niah Faulkner injected into the game at GS for her first A Grade game. She combined well with Redman and was able to find space and put some shots up. Hatherleigh strung together a consistent 4 quarters which saw them take a 19 goal win.
Tantanoola 49 drew Kalangadoo 49 The final quarter forced the Murphies away from their preferred steady game style as the Kongorong side confronted them with plenty of body on pressure. Kongorong's Kate Wright and Glencoe's Chloe Pfitzner were having an impressive ba le on the wing. Midway through the quarter R. Buckingham le the court; forcing Lightbody into Goal Keeper and youngster Jas McKinnon into Wing Defence. T. Buckingham con nued to be the focal point in the Hawks a ack end, shoo ng the en rety of their goals in the second half. The Hawks con nued to persist with long transi on balls which were strongly intercepted by S. Edwards or Pfitzner. Down the other a acking end Markiewicz con nued to present and finish with accuracy. Glencoe took home the win, defea ng the Hawks 74 to 32. The classy Murphies had a convincing win against the figh ng Hawks. In the absence of Jenna Paproth for Glencoe; Laura Edwards stepped into the Goal A ack role and worked hard to create space for her counterpart in Malinda Markiewicz. The Hawks were put on the backfoot early with the floa ng Glencoe defence proving too hard to penetrate. Down Kongorong's a acking end the height of Tilah Buckingham was the preferred avenue to goal and her ba le with Glencoe's Chantelle Cocks was on from the start, with neither player backing away from the long, contested balls coming into the circle. Markiewicz had it her way in the opening quarter scoring 20 goals for the Glencoe side and se ng them up with a 12 goal advantage heading into the first break.

Both teams made some changes at half me, with Sarah Nulty replacing Zoe Brown at GA for Mount Burr and Kimberley Aus n coming on at GK and a shuffle in the defence line with Maisie Hayes coming off for Robe. Robe li ed and came out firing in the third quarter with Sarah Laurie domina ng Robe's goal circle, ge ng lots of the ball and shoo ng 10 out of their 13 goals for the quarter. Robe's defence of Aus n and Perkins put the pressure on Mount Burr's goalies, with Nulty struggling to find her eye in the first half of the quarter With Robe's confidence li ed they seemed to play a be er team game for the quarter with more energy on the court, winning the quarter by 2 goals. The score being 32 to 38 at three quarter me. The final quarter saw Robe trying to peg the 6 goal lead back, which got back to 4 at one stage. However Mount Burr stepped up with Nulty finding her feet at GA and domina ng Mount Burr's goal circle, with Laura Shultz and Meg Fennell feeding the ball with precision. Robe had their chances but Mount Burr came away with the fight and determina on to the end, winners by 9 goals. The score being 40 to 49 at the final whistle.
Glencoe started the second quarter as they did the first; with a high intensity to win ball back for their team. Cocks won front posi on on T Buckingham and began hun ng for balls outside of the circle, taking some impressive intercepts. The Murphies' Ashlea Edwards worked pa ently to find scoring op ons in the goal circle despite the hands pressure being applied by Kongorong's Emily Lightbody. The defensive duo of Riley Buckingham and Sarah Lucas did their best to gain possession for the Hawks but their long ball transi on was easily turned over by Glencoe's defence. Glencoe's Sarah Edwards and Cocks kept the Hawks goalers to just 5 goals for the quarter Kongorong entered the main break trailing by 27 goals. Half me saw more changes for the bay, whilst the home side remained unchanged. The third quarter was a more even quarter as Port Mac were able to find Lara Wilson and Kirby Carrison a lot easier. Hatherleigh s ll remained in control, but the circle defensive pressure from Port MacDonnell made Telfer and Watson work the ball around un l they were able to find the best op on.
A nice and sunny Robe made for a great game of netball. With both teams figh ng for a spot in the finals it was always going to be a hard fought game. Mount Burr came out firing with Ebony Clark domina ng the girl circle for Mount Burr shoo ng 13 of their 15 goals and only missing 2 for the quarter, which made it hard for Robe's defenders Georgia Perkins and Ellen Ramke. The first quarter was a great start for Mount Burr being in front 15 to 10 at quarter me.
