Thank you to those who stepped up first game to help out when we had a number of people out with Covid. This is going to be a tough season with the possibility of people away each week either unwell or close contacts but when we have people pu ng up their hand to help out it certainly makes it easier around the club, please help out when you can. Remember to con nue to do the right thing by prac cing social distancing, washing/sani sing your hands and staying home if you are unwell. Shuffle and Games Night is happening Saturday night for our first func on of the season, the Social Commi ee are finalising events for the year and will be announcing them very soon. Thank you to our valued sponsors who have signed up for this season so far. If you would like to sponsor or know someone who would like to please see Julie-anne Cytrowski or Janice Kelly to view our packages, there is something for everyone. Junior Colts: We came up against a Nangwarry side with some extremely talented kids, we let them off to a quick start but once we switched on we played some great passages of football. Each quarter we improved which was very pleasing and never dropped our heads. Eli Bowman was first best across half back and took a tonne of intercept marks, Kaden Bell ran hard all day and improved his defensive play in the second half to get second best and Josh Vanderhorst put his head over the footy all day in the middle and down back to get third best. Rounding out the best players were Jedd Hardingham, Jayden Hunter and Summer Batchelor. Let's keep improving and enjoying our footy kids and

hopefully Covid leaves us alone this week. Reserves: Hi all, first round against Nangwarry and unfortunately come away with the loss. With some players out with Covid and other commitments we managed to pull a side together with the help of some Senior Colts. Fitness proved to be a big contributor to the loss as well as some last minute injuries. Cam Saint received best on ground for his great work in the middle, new recruit Darcy Hogan showing some fantas c athle cism and ball skills got Darcy in best along with vice captain Ma y Nelson, Tyson McGrath and Jack Patzel. Looking to reset this week and come out firing against Robe with some players returning. A Grade: G'day everyone. For the opening clash for our seniors in 2022 were the Nangwarry Saints. With a bit of a different looking side with some new addi ons and also a couple outs due to Covid we came raring to kick off our season with a win. But unfortunately Nangwarry weren't prepared to let that happen easily. With both sides going goal for goal most of the game, some inaccurate kicking by us we managed to pull away from the Saints in the end to get the W. Can see big things in mo on for the Saints this year and also a lot of promising signs for our Tant Tigers. Best players in no order were Jack Dawe, Roy Osborne, Troy Ha , (new recruit), William Wright and Liam English. This week we host Robe to hopefully back up a first round win with a good performance. www.tantanoolafootballclub. spor ngpulse.net Find us on Facebook: Tantanoola Football and Netball Club

Welcome back to the footy, my word that came around fast. We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all the new families, players and supporters of the Robe Football Club as well as those returning to us for the 2022 season. We have a strong, dynamic club and the con nual growth of our community is contribu ng to a bright future for the immediate years and beyond. Congratula ons must go across all grades and our administra on for season 2021 with everyone playing in finals. A special, outstanding, men on must go to Tom Wachtel and his Senior Colts for comple ng an unblemished year and fulfilling their vision of taking out the Premiership. A er a couple of years in the COVID wilderness 2021 was a year of growth, development and solidarity not only between the grades but with our netball family which we will con nue to develop into 2022. Our execu ve commi ee remains the same as 2021 and con nues to be a strong and dynamic group of individuals who all bring a unique talent to the team. Welcome back Roger Sweetman, Breanna Ferguson, Filly Robertson, Stephen Gibbons, Jacob Nicholson, Susan Clements, Geoff Prest, Jim Thring, Chris McLay, Jordan Pe t and Adam Brooks. We are also again supported by a strong Junior Commi ee led by Adrian Johns. Con nuing with our growing tradi on of Senior players mentoring into coaching roles we are delighted to see Tom Wachtel move into the posi on of A Grade Coach supported on the bench by a couple of mature football brains in Simon Ferguson and (runner) Adrian Johns. With assistance Simon will also be coaching the Reserves and with our progression more and more

towards a ‘Senior Squad’ this opens up the communica on between grades even more so. Tom Williams has again been voted in as A Grade Captain and Jack Kelly as vice. Senior players and leadership group members Sam Huebner (coach) and James Francisco (assist coach) are star ng their Robe coaching careers by leading the Senior Colts and comple ng the leadership group Jack Sneath returns to coach the Junior Colts. Thanks also to Anthony Moore for coaching the U12s and Ben Semple for corralling the Auskickers. Within the playing groups we also have a large number of new volunteers in team management posi ons and we wish them all the best for 2022 as they get stuck into this some mes crazy but very rewarding role. We look forward to every game this year however we are very excited about our second Anzac clash against Hatherleigh. Working in conjunc on with the ‘Robe to Recovery’ support group we look forward to hos ng the event with the same success as last year. With everything going on in the world at the moment it seems even more poignant that we honour those who have fought for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Thank you to our members, sponsors, volunteers, and commi ee for coming around again with us in 2022. Any organisa on is only as good as the people within it and we are incredibly lucky to have the calibre of people we have at the Robe Football Club. Good luck to all members and commi ee of the MSE and we hope you all have a great 2022. Deb Mackey Robe Football Club President

A Grade: Footy is finally back! We headed down the road to take on Mount Burr with perfect condi ons for football. Mount Burr started really well applying a lot of pressure on the ball, it took our boys 10 minutes to se le and start ge ng our hands on the footy. Having plenty of forward entries in the first but unfortunately couldn't convert that into scoreboard pressure we trailed by a goal at the first break. With major focus on cleaning up our possession we started hi ng our targets around the ground and up forward and managed to put on scoreboard pressure going into the main break 8 goals up. The last half really opened up with good run and good ball movement we ran out with a very solid win to kick of the season. Jake Dowdy (6 goals) and Jack Skeer (4 goals) led the way up forward. New recruit Mark Marrio was huge in the ruck and around the ground while Will Chay dominated the middle finding plenty of the ball and providing excep onal delivery to our forwards. Jack and Sam Gray were really solid down back while proving plenty of rebound out of our backline. This week we have our first home game up against Nangwarry. Go Eagles!

B Grade: Firstly how good is it too have football and netball back! Great to see so many back at the Somerset for pressos. Our boys have had a fairly big four weeks on the track and I think it showed, we hit the ground running, playing some great team first football that is good to watch and having a solid 23 goal win in the end. Best on ground went to the man that eats footys for fun - Reidy. Second best went to a bloke I didn't think would

get up to play but he proved me wrong and that's Jack Kain. Third best with 4 goals went to big regional Bell. Fourth best went to a bloke that's no stranger to best player awards in norm Watson. Hopefully we can take this first round form into the rest of the season! Cheers Thorny Senior Colts: The boys started the year with the right mindset, playing a complete 4 quarters in a team effort. It was good to see last year's Junior Colts step up and show they are more than capable to play at the level, while new players Bailey Lindner, Jack Marino, Archie Morgan and Blake Werchon showed they are class with the ball in hand. Our brand of football seen all players get amongst it, linking up, crea ng space and running both ways to defend as well as a acking. Harvey Jones con nued his great form kicking 6 and ge ng his teammates into the game. Blake Werchon showed his composure with the ball, hi ng targets and providing plenty of ball movement from the midfield. Zac Bowering also showed his ability up forward and in the ruck finishing with 5 goals. We look to keep this momentum rolling as we come up against Nangwarry this week. Best players - Harvey Jones, Blake Werchon, Zac Bowering, Archie Morgan, Joel Smith, Bailey Lindner. Junior Colts: A good hit out against Mt Burr for our first game of the season. Thank you again to a few of our players playing a half for Mt Burr to help them out, it was a great game of footy with only a goal in it for the first 3 quarters, credit to our team for playing a good 4 quarter effort to get the job done winning by 14 points. 4th qtr

Bad luck to the mini Sainters and Senior Colts who were unlucky to miss round one due to Covid but we look forward to seeing this week. Thanks to all who came to the working bee and started the dy up and prepara on for our big move, the efforts were fantas c, especially the placement of the posters! Many are awai ng the club opening and let me tell you it is almost here and boy are we excited! This week's sponsor shout out is to two very long term supporters of the club Trident Tyre and Pines Hotel. For all your car and tyre needs why not give Trident a call the team there are AMAZING and will look a er you. Next me you are driving through Tarpeena stop in at Crammy's for a meal or a beer. Say hey to local Nanga's girl Maxi and the rest of the staff who are always smiling. Good luck to everyone today at Hatherleigh, we can only hope to keep the winning streak going and maybe see another close one in the A's.

Welcome back to season 2022 and what a fantas c start to the season it was for Nangwarry. We started with a win and ended with a great contest in the A Grade. Congratula ons to the Junior Colts and B Grade who took home the points. A great effort by the A Grade boys to go down by only 11 points. Coach LT recruited over the summer and boy did his efforts show on the field, to see a sea of Saint supports actually cheering and ge ng excited was bloody amazing! Get around the boys for this group of guys are only going to get be er...

Junior Colts: Well we finally made it to round 1 and condi ons were great for footy as we ventured to Tantanoola to face the Tigers. A er a lot of text messages over the previous 24 hours we managed to pull together 12 players for the game. Big thanks to the few under

11's who stepped up and played. You gave it your all, didn't back down and had a go. Thanks to Ma and the Tant boys as well for loaning a player to make 13 a side, much appreciated. We kicked off 2022 in style with a 4 quarter effort to come out 53 point winners. We are a younger and smaller side this year and I asked the boys to use their legs and that's exactly what they did. Benne was a standout with his usual dash and flair, Calais ba led well in his first game in the ruck. Other men ons go to Captain Tayte who led from the front and kicked 3 goals also. Harvey ba ling on the ball, our whole backline that stood tall throughout the game and under 11 player and 1st gamer Blake who kicked 2 majors and looked right at home in the grade and Saints colours. Thanks again to all the volunteers on game day and to the supporters and senior players who came out and watched our young Saints play. B Grade: Welcome to all new and returning players. Congratula ons to Josh Mills and family on the birth of your daughter. What a way to start the season with a fantas c win over Tant by 46 points. Best players were Jono Mills, Jack Stocker, Josh Clayfield, Blake Neshoda, Brayden Kelly and Hayden Stewart. Cheers Butch A Grade: Finally round 1 of the 2022 season rolled around and the boys were ready to go! In what was our most compe ve ou ng in roughly 8 years I was proud of the boys for how we played though a few 50m penal es cost us 3 goals against. We moved the ball fast and got it into our forwards quick, we had 9 new guys in our team and all of them played their role well with the standout being Andy Hyland who kicked 8 goals. We didn't get the result we wanted but we are clearly moving in the right direc on. Our next test will be Hatherleigh who will more than likely finish top two so it will be good to go up against them and keep working on our game plan. Cheers LT

Round 1 kicked off with a bang, as Friday night we saw local Mid SE player Jordan Dawson give the Mighty Crows an a er the siren win to li the spirits of the state and send the Pear to an 0-3 start. We then travelled around the corner to our arch-rival Kalangadoo. The Junior Colts carried this momentum into their first game running out with a convincing 125point win. Adam Price has these boys and girls organised like a welloiled machine, even picking up cans and bo les in the clubrooms and sor ng paper from plas cs. A great team effort first up by the Junior Colts. The Senior Colts will be undermanned all year, but they were aided with some help from a lot of our juniors who are going to have to play 2 games this year to get them through. We have some talented players but just need some more players. Pie had the boys playing some good passages of play, but unfortunately, we couldn't match it on the day. Best players were Cam Brooks, who was running all game and then backed it up playing A Grade, Bailey Rothall, with some excellent decision making, Brodie Pfitzner, who competed for a lot of contests and Kaleb Price in his first year of colts. Under the guidance of new coach Nathan McEachern, the Reserves side had ample numbers to pick from 2 weeks before Round 1. Unfortunately come selec on night we came up very short. Nathan managed to pull a handy side together, that started well, but unfortunately couldn't match it all day with what looks like a very handy Kalangadoo Reserves ou it. When some injuries return and Covid players return we should see some great improvement in the Ressies. Whisper has it that there might be some help on the way from some past players. Best players for the day were Tim Mutch, who rucked for a lot of the game in his first year of senior footy, Shannon Megaw, in his club debut across half back, Ethan Bronca, who looked like Dusty Mar n streaming? jogging? out of the centre, Lachlan

Hoch, in his first club game, Tom Rundle, also making his club debut, and Taylor McGrath who always finds the footy. In the Seniors we knew it would be a test coming up against a side our rivals said was the “best they'd ever assembled”. It's good to see where we can improve if we want to play finals. Once some injured players return and we build some form we'll have a bigger understanding of where we sit on the ladder. We started the game very well with high pressure and good skills. We entered quarter me only 1 goal down. A er that Kalangadoo slowly started to run away with a lead. In the 2nd half we ran out of legs and let them get on top of us with their run and our lack of pressure and accountability. Lots of posi ves to come out of the game though and new coach Tom Edwards was happy with a lot of our new players. Some of our be er players were Henry Smith, Andy Gray, Aden Brand (all club debuts), Patrick Mitchell, Dylan Childs, Tom Edwards, Ben Swan and Mark Arthurson. Today we take on Mount Burr at home. It will be our first home match of the year which will hopefully provide us with a real chance of winning 4 matches. I know the coaches are expec ng con nual improvement and a solid hit out before the Easter week off. Teagle Contrac ng were drawn as our major sponsor for 2022 at last week's sponsorship draw. They have been a long me supporter of our club and we thank them along with all of the many other sponsors who support our club. Today's home game sponsor is Miller, Whan & John. Remember, tonight we have our first teas and func on of the year. It will be great to see everyone back at the club for presenta ons and then teas. Shuffle Night will then follow. If you haven't already, let Sarah Edwards know if you would like to put a song in and see if it is not too late. Dress ups for your song are encouraged. There will most likely be a bus heading back to the Mount a er. Good luck to all today. Murphy Magic!

Junior Colts: How good is it to have footy back, we welcome everyone back to the club for the 2022 season. This year we are a bit light on for numbers but luckily enough we faced off against Hatherleigh who had plenty of numbers and were generous enough to lend us 7 players so all the kids could have a run. So I would like to say a big thank you to Dylan and his kids who helped us out and the kids who had a good crack for us. Our boys played really well and I couldn’t be any prouder, they did everything asked of them and should hold their heads up high. Best players for us were Charlie Bevan, Finn Woolston, Reed Gardner, Deklan Brant, Rylan McKay and Heath Johnston. It was very hard to pick the best players because all the kids played really well. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out and for all the work that happens behind the scenes we look forward to this week and having another red hot crack. Senior Colts: A great day for round one at home we came up against a quick Hatherleigh ou it who were too strong on the day. A er the first quarter we were a lot be er defensively which was a focus and showed good patches of movement with some good signs to take into this week. Best players on the day were Brock Sandow, Calum Sparkes, Charlie Bevan, Muhammad Abduvhobov, Kallan Bevan and Bradlee Lawson.

Despite the scoreboard at the end of the game, I thought it was a solid effort by our young side. With two players making their senior debut (Muhammad and Harrison), Jack Hateley playing his first game for the club and Kaz (at 40 years of age) playing his first ever game of football, they like the rest of the team will be be er for the run. Best players on the day were Je , Harry, Ed, Noah and Harvey. Thanks to everyone that took on a role and helped out on the day. Rob Francis A Grade: To perform for 1 quarter just is not good enough. Second rate efforts and zero hunger results in what we dished up last week vs Hatherleigh. Playing well for 15 minutes means nothing in a game of 4 quarters. Was not good enough from us. Our supporters, volunteers and teammates deserve more. Congrats to young Sharpy and Sparksy who came in and played their first A Grade games for the club - competed when they got their chance and can hold their heads high. Thanks goes to our Captain Fiebs and young Rooster who both ba led all day and certainly led the way. Onto Glencoe this week for an opportunity to show what we’re made of and step up for a full 4 quarters of football.

B Grade: It was a tough start for the year coming up against a quality side in Hatherleigh. 2nd qtr

KONGORONG kalangadoo

A big shout out to all the volunteers that helped get the ground ready in the lead up to game day, and then those that helped out with jobs throughout the day to make everything run smoothly. As always, Port Mac supporters, together with our own loyal followers, came in droves to witness some good footy/netball and made it another successful day for the club. Reminder to catch up with Membership Coordinator Mel Cozzi to get your memberships sorted. We have mul ple op ons available, so there's sure to be one to suit you. Players - you all need to have yours sorted by end of April please. Following is how the coaches saw the day's games unfold: Under 11: We welcomed Port Mac for our first game for the season, with many kids playing their first game, which is always entertaining for the supporters. Both teams displayed a high level of skill, which will be very exci ng to watch in years to come. Thank you to our game day sponsors. The awards went to: Intersport Award - Mitchell Bowering, President's Award - Charlie Lasle , Angelino Family Award - Dusty Cooper, Coach's Award - Iziah Hunt, Club Award Hunter Bingham and Donut King - Angus Maidment. Junior Colts: Hard to believe footy is underway again, as we welcomed the old rival in Port Mac to our home ground in near perfect condi ons to get the season underway. With several new players to the group and a few players away, the start of the game was always going to take a while for the group to se le. Once we managed to get some run going during the 3rd quarter, it was good to see some of the link up and play that had been working hard on at training. Also to see the Minis who stepped up and found themselves with plenty of the ball, even Hunter Bingham managing a goal in his 1st game of U14's. Best players could have gone to nearly anyone on the team as everyone had played their role and were involved in the game, but best on ground and the Rarcoola Structural Award went to Ryan Lucas who provided plenty of run and was never far from the ball. A very close second best in his 1st game for the club and with one of his 1st kicks for the club got our scoring underway for the year Axel Page received the Rocks Shop Award. With a few away Nate Von Stanke-Dowie was pushed into the middle and provided plenty of run all day while trying to create space for teammates around him and took home the Spot-On Fishing Award. Lilly Gordon out on her wing was asked to play a certain role, and wasn't beaten all day, provided plenty of ball for the forwards and contested hard for the Mick Mullan Award. Coach's Award was probably the hardest today as would have liked to hand out 5-6 of them but steeping up into a midfield role this year and being versa le with run and inside balls Harrison Elletson received the award. Rounding out the best players, Blake Telford was key in holding down centre half back and providing plenty of strength in the contest, while s ll prepared to take the game on and run through the lines. Next up we welcome the Doo and will be looking forward to a near full line up, and con nue to build on the great work over summer. Go Hawks. Senior Colts: Round one under the belt and a comfortable win for the boys. A long

preseason concentrated on fitness and game plays seems to be just what the boys needed, with all playing well. Maverick Cooper and Mackye Baron showing the force we have through the midfield and Brodie Von StankeDowie showing the accuracy we have in front of the big s cks. It’s just about keeping the boys level-headed now and ge ng back on the track to regroup and take on Kalangadoo Saturday. Reserves: It's always great to get the season underway, and a er a few weeks of uncertainty, it was good to see a full side all ready to go against the Bay. The game was played in great spirits and both sides will no doubt benefit from the run. Or more likely, there will be a lot of sore bodies and rethinking of plans to play for the rest of the year. Well done to our 2 Senior Colts Brodie and Shak on contribu ng to a solid win and they will no doubt benefit from the experience. Overall it was good to blow the cobwebs out and we look forward to taking on a strong Kalangadoo side this week. Everyone played their part and it was hard to pick best players as we threw the side around a fair bit. The awards ended up going to Ryan Vickery for his constant run and drive, Donald Pohec Gordon who was a great target up forward and around the ground in the ruck, Ma y Maidment used his preseason work to great effect and was everywhere, Harry Maddern was hard at it and looks certain to have a big future ahead of him and captain Sean Farrell con nued on his great form from last year to be the link up man for our ball movement. Thanks to Kane, Jenks, Graham, Mandy and all the water boys and boundary umpires for making sure we can do the fun part and play. Seniors: Whilst we didn't get the points, a posi ve start to the season none the less, against last year's premiership team. We had some good patches of play in our first quarter, then slipped into old habits in the second, le ng us down. We will definitely benefit from the game, playing together as a whole team for the first me, and ge ng used to the skills and abili es of our teammates. So much poten al, and we've set the founda ons to build on in the coming weeks. Best player and the Collins Court Butcher Award went to Elliot Modra, with Tommy Hunter receiving the Commercial Hotel Award for his efforts. Fraser Brewster played a good game on the wing to be named third best, closely followed by Vice Captain Ma Cordy. Debu ng senior colt Will Von Stanke made the most of the opportunity presented to him, and performed well throughout the game to be recognised as fi h best, and Paully Ellis' game up forward had him rounding out the best players. Reminder to everyone to get along to Kongorong again Sunday, to see the Kongorong U16 girls team play off in the grand final. These girls have worked very hard this year and would be great to see everyone out and show your support. A er that game, around half will front up again to play off in the Prelim Final for the Senior Women, hoping to secure a spot in the Div 2 Grand Final in a fortnight. Best of luck to Porridge, the girls and all the support staff for the next few weeks. Today we take on Kalangadoo, best of luck to all teams.

ROUND 2 A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW ROBE v TANTANOOLA Round two will mark Robe's first game for the season as well as being the match of the round. The young side will be looking to come out on top of the Tigers, who had a significant win over Nangwarry last week. Tantanoola's Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe will put pressure on Robe's goalies and possibly create a few turnovers for their team.

Shandeen Balshaw and Shannon Higgins in Nangwarry's defensive circle will put the pressure on any goalies that Hatherleigh u lises.

Brown and shoot accurately for the Burr; however, any misses will be rebounded with strength by Glencoe's Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks.

Hatherleigh's strength through the midcourt will allow them to pick off any loose balls and convert centre passes to add to their score.

Glencoe will be hoping for another win this week.

Hatherleigh's defensive combina on of Lara MacGregor and Sarah Broadhead will create pressure for the Saint's shooters, limi ng their scoring opportuni es.

KALANGADOO v KONGORONG Kalangadoo will be looking to redeem themselves a er last week's loss against Glencoe and will come out firing against the Hawks on Saturday.

The return of Annie Hunter to Robe's side will add confidence and help to steady the ball down the court, feeding the ball with accuracy into Sarah Laurie and Tori Gluyas.

The Eagles will finish the day with another win.

A er a tough fight Robe may prove to be too much for Tantanoola and they will come away with the points.

A er a close game against Hatherleigh in round one, Mount Burr will be looking to get their first points on the board against Glencoe this week.

Tilah Buckingham's accuracy in the goal circle will make it hard for Kalangadoo defenders to rebound any missed shots.

Maddi Hagge and Olivia Dean's pressure in the goal circle will make it tough for Glencoe's Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz.

Lauren Kain should return to the Kalangadoo line up this week, adding strength to their defensive end.

HATHERLEIGH v NANGWARRY Hatherleigh coming off a good win last week will be full of confidence despite missing playing coach Tegan Merre .

MOUNT BURR v GLENCOE

Ebony Clark will combine well with Zoe

Estelle Serle and Kori Collins will combine well in the goal circle and fight hard against Kongorong's defenders for any loose balls.

Kalangadoo will combine well and come away with the points.

50 senior games TO PAPROTH & COCKS Congratula ons to both Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks who played their 50th Senior Game for Glencoe Netball Club last weekend. Both ladies have returned to the A Grade side this season a er having me off for pregnancies/babies. We were very lucky that both of these ladies joined Glencoe Netball Club through their husbands and they have been an integral part of our A Grade side since. This year Chantelle is down the other end of the court than we have previously seen her, but with her height and agility is s ll going to cause headaches for her opponents. Jenna will be back in the goal ring again this year and with her drive down the court and accuracy, she provides a strong focal point for the team. Chantelle and Jenna have both taken up coaching posi ons previously and you will o en see Jenna umpiring on game day also. Thank you both for your dedica on and commitment to Glencoe Netball Club, congratula ons and we look forward to seeing what the year brings for you and your team!

NETball club notes Junior 2: What a fantas c first game our J2 superstars had. The girls stepped out there with confidence and did a brilliant job with their passing and following their players. Thank you to our big girls from last year (Daisy, Polly, Lidia and Nevaeh) for helping and encouraging our li le girls in their first game! Good job to Shelbi for stepping up and playing for Nangwarry so they had 7. A big thank you to Pippa for si ng bench and going on when we needed her. Awards went to Nevaeh for her brilliant determina on and 100% effort and to Georgina for her pa ence and excellent passing of the ball. Junior 1: A terrific game of netball to start off the season with! You all tried your absolute best and I am so proud of you all. You are a great group of young netball players. Can't wait to see you grow in your abili es over the season. I love how you all tried your best to find space and pick up any loose balls. Everyone talked and were encouraging to each other on the court which was great to hear! Apsara and Renae received the awards. Apsara had some great intercepts down the court and her shoo ng was awesome. Renae zoomed all around the court and goals, ge ng loads of passes and intercepts. Thank you to Emie who filled in for Nangwarry so we could all play. 13 & Under: What a full on Round 1! Due to under 15's having many players unavailable, 4 of the U13 players stepped up to play their first U15's game. It's challenging to run 2 games, especially right at the beginning of the season when players are s ll building their match fitness. Unfortunately, this plus some nerves had a bit of an effect on the start of our game as the girls were red and down 2 regular players, so the first quarter got away from us with Nangwarry domina ng the ball. But wow did we turn it around later in the game! Late during the 2nd quarter the girls started finding their feet, and were much more proac ve around the ball. The focus and determina on they all played with in the 2nd half was exci ng to watch, with more ball possession and poten al scoring shots. Tamika made some excellent leads into the goal circle, supported by Peyton. Leilani made some great intercepts, with both Summah and Alexis gaining rebounds in the defensive circle. A great first game by Rachael, and thank you to Emie who benched for us. Girls, be proud of how well you played and remember it's only the beginning of the season. I'm excited to see how far you all con nue to develop as a team together. Awards went to Leilani Bentley and Peyton Bowman. 15 & Under: A challenging start to the season, with only 4 regular U15's players available to play on the day and U13's filling in to make up the numbers. We started well in the first quarter, with lots of movement in the centre third and Grace managing to get a few goals on the board, keeping us only 2 goals behind by quarter me. Unfortunately Nangwarry were just too strong and we started to run out of legs a er that. Well done to all of the girls for their posi vity and running hard the whole game. Thank you to the U13's girls who came out early to play in the U15's game (Leilani, Ebony, Alexis, Tamika plus Peyton who cheered them on). It was really appreciated by the club. Awards went to Grace Altschwager and Kaitlyn Thomas. 17 & Under: We had a rocky start to the season girls with Covid knocking out a couple of our players but credit to you all for stepping up and showing Jami and I the strength and passion each and every one of you have. You all worked as a team and even when fa gue took over (the first game is always the hardest) you were able

NETball club notes to back each other up and get the job done. Jami and I are very proud of how you are working as a team. A few things to work on at training but mostly just basics that will flow with ease as the season progresses. Thank you so much to the 15s who sat bench and stepped up to cover our spicy flu vic ms, we really appreciate it girls and good job! Chloe Taylor had a great game, her strong drive into the goal circle and confidence with her shot earned her the TFNC award. Charli Kaigg had a brilliant first game with the Tigers showing us her tenaciousness and strength in the defensive end earning her the Gino's award. Good start girls, good to get a win on the board in round one! Keep working hard and Jami and I strongly believe you have the ability to take it all the way this year. Go Tiges! B Reserve: What a posi ve start to the season. We are very proud of how the girls worked together as a team and all their posi ve a tudes across the court. There were definitely some challenges with the new team, but we should all be glad that we have go en the first game nerves out of the way and can focus on slowing down and considering all op ons. Best players went to Kateesha and Sam who rose to the occasion a er only playing in defence together for one training, was great to see them gel as a team. Looking forward to what this week brings, keep up all the hard work girls, and keep up all those big smiles on the court! B Grade: A great first game considering how hard Covid has hit us already, with 2 in isola on and 3 recovering in the last 2 weeks. Everyone combined well a er such a limited preseason and only se ling the final line-up on Thursday night. Bek and Jodie combined well in goals, finishing accurately. Kirsty and Alice ran hard all game and fed the shooters well. Leah, Kim and Gemmah played great defence in their first hit out together. Looking forward to seeing what we can do when we add Laylah and Ffion to the mix. Thanks to Jade for si ng bench for her third game of the day. Best players were Alice and Kim. Tant 47 def. Nangwarry 39. A Reserve: First game for the 2022 season saw us get away with a win. With a whole new team it was going to be interes ng to see how we would go playing together. I have to say that we all worked together well and it showed on the court. Everyone talked, supported and backed each other up. We had great movement in the circle by Amy and Amy-Lee and they were a strong combina on in the goals. Danni and Sally worked well in our mid court and feed well into the circle. Ella and Michelle worked hard in defence working extremely well together for the first me and it was a great combina on. Thanks to our juniors Charli and Chloe for si ng bench. Well done girls, you should be proud of your efforts in our first game, keep playing like this all season and we will only get stronger as a team. Best: Amy-Lee (Fosters Foodland voucher), Michelle Robinson (Since 56 voucher). A Grade: A good win to start our season off. With all the hard work we have been pu ng in at trainings it was great to see 4 consistent quarters by the girls. Emma played a strong game and shot at a high percentage. Casey and Madi combined well on the circle and fed beau fully all game. Kate, Tayla and Kristy, you all worked hard all game and worked so well as a unit. The defensive ps and second efforts were great to see. Lots more to work on but let's go into this week with the same fire and get another win on the board. Awards went to Emma Gould (meal voucher) and Kate Bromley (Heaven on a Hanger).

A rejuvenated Robe side is ready for a big year on the court in the 2022 Bendigo Bank Mid South Eastern Netball Associa on. The Roosters have been extremely lucky to have large numbers wan ng to play netball and a few new faces come to town which has made the club even stronger. Teams have been training since mid-January with preseason numbers be er than ever which has created a tremendous vibe around the club. The A Grade received a huge boost over the summer with many new and returning players boos ng the squad. Emma Grant and Ellen Ramke have been welcome arrivals since making the big moves from Adelaide and Loxton respec vely. Lucy Perkins and Halle Carter are others to be included on the team sheet a er they moved back home. Perkins has always been a strong and talented netballer as a junior, but this will be her first year playing with Robe as a senior a er playing last season with Walkerville in Adelaide. She is expected to play a role at WD and could possibly be the game changer in most games. Grant is a new player to the

club, but is another name to watch. She looks like a very talented fit and agile player, bringing experience from Pembroke Old Scholars to share with her new teammates. But the biggest news over the summer was the return of Annie Hunter. The 2019 League best and fairest is back from an ACL injury and will be determined to show she has lost none of her magic. This year the club has been working hard as an A squad in conjunc on with the A Reserve team with many up for selec on in the top grade. Kimberley Aus n will con nue her coaching role with the A Grade and it could be hard to pick a team with both squads having depth and appearing to be quite solid. Kim Ross has taken on the playing coach role in the A Reserve setup. Keeping the squad together has been beneficial and the Roosters will con nue to do so for the first few weeks of the season. At this stage the club has enough depth in its seniors that no juniors are listed within the A Grade squad. However, Ella Mackey and Maisie Hayes should both feature in the A Reserve team.

NETball club notes Junior 2: Wow, what a fun way to start our season! Great job girls, it was great to see everyone working together, learning new posi ons and listening well. Junior 1: An impressive start to the year for the girls, first year of J1 for everyone except for Alirah. The girls were running into space to receive the ball and used their dodge to break free in defence. Tilly was a tall target in goals and worked with Paige to set up shots close to the post. Hazel, Kirby and Leyla were ght in defence. They posi oned themselves to contest each pass and picked up lots of loose balls. Arabella, Alirah and Mollie consistently presented themselves in front down the court and passed strongly into the goalies. A great team effort was shown, as well as sportsmanship. Well done girls. Awards: Tilly and Leyla (Denton Sportspower). 13 & Under: Hatherleigh 22 – Mt Burr 27. Great start to the season girls. Poppy and Olivia Bellinger rebounded well, denying the opposi on any 2nd shots. Mid-courters Leni, Grace and Olivia H worked relessly in both a ack and defence. Olivia Beggs and Meeka had hands over every ball, ge ng a number of turnovers. Sylvie and Luca combined well in our goal circle and finished off with accuracy. A great team effort. In the next few weeks, we need to focus on our coming forward to meet the ball and our decision making. Awards: Olivia Bellinger (Denton's Sportspower), Luca (Ducky's Surf). 15 & Under: Hatherleigh 21 – Mt Burr 32. We were a bit undermanned to start the season and took a while to find our feet. Once we se led, we were able to win 2 quarters of netball which was pleasing. Poppy Fitz came in for Kyah and played a solid game in D. Kalli and Hailey took a while to gel in the goal circle but once they worked it out shot some lovely goals. Eva worked really hard at WA maybe just needing to work on her ming. Overall, not too bad first up. Thanks to Poppy, Leni and Sylvie for filling in. Awards: Poppy (Ducky's Surf), Deni (Denton's Sportspower). 17 & Under: Hatherleigh 27 – Mt Burr 52. Unfortunately, not the start of the season that we wanted, but due to current Covid circumstances we gave it a shot. It took a while for us to se le our nerves, which resulted in pushing the score a lot further out than we would've wished for. Our defence end saw a whole new combina on of Elly and Imogen working beau fully together, picking up every loose ball opportunity. Our mid-court saw Halle, Demi and Deni trying their hardest to push the ball down to the goal circle. Hailey, Kalli and Indi sort plenty of goal opportuni es, we need to u lise our fundamentals and decision making in the next couple of weeks. A big thank you to the under 15 girls. Awards: Imogen (Denton's Sportspower), Deni (Ducky's Surf). B Reserve: Hatherleigh 31 – Mt Burr 35. It wasn't the result we were a er going down by 4 goals. Having both Staci and Jess out due to Covid certainly didn't help our cause. Being a goalie down, Ellie came down and played a quarter and Imogen Nowak from 17's came up and played 3 quarters – thank you to both girls. Imogen's first game of senior netball and having not played goals for

NETball club notes quite some me did an amazing job, Nic worked hard all game in GA pu ng up some great shots and under some pre y physical condi ons handled the situa on really well. Lucy dominated in GK all game with many intercep ons and rebounds, Sally ran hard in C delivering the ball into the goalies beau fully - with everyone having some great passages of play. We welcomed Sarah Beare and Grace Abbot to the club this year and look forward to the season ahead with you both. Thank you to Dizey for scoring and Sam Uo la for primary caring. Awards: Lucy (Somerset Hotel), Sally (Since-Fi y-Six). B Grade: Hatherleigh 39 – Mt Burr 25. With Covid causing issues from week 1, it didn't cause us any troubles with a great team game to start the year off. A credit to the girls with lots of changes throughout the game, it didn't bother them at all with each quarter being just as strong. Sophie Gibbs started the game excep onally well turning the ball over many mes in defence to get us an early lead to win the Somerset Hotel award. It was a big day for Charlie Muhovics coming up against her old club, but she played a great strong game in GS to receive the Demi Rose Hairdressing award. All 9 girls played really well and I'm excited to see what this team can achieve. A big thank you to Ellie who played and sat bench for B Reserve and hopefully Hayley's ankle is good to go a er a week off and Paris can return to the court this week. Thank you to Heidi for scoring and Linda for primary carer. A Reserve: Hatherleigh 64 – Mt Burr 35. First game for the season I was unsure what to expect. We have quite a few new combina ons and it was awesome to see the girls se led well. There was plenty of posi ves to take out of our first game with lots of pressure the whole way down the court and plenty of talk. Our centre passes flowed nicely into a ack and goalie movement was great. Millie had a blinder at GD ge ng many intercepts and rebounds, this earned her the Somerset award. Helen's intensity all over the court earned her the Heaven on a Hanger award. Bring on next week girls!! Well done. A Grade: Hatherleigh 37 – Mt Burr 34. Firstly – thank you to Mt Burr for allowing us to be a part of a beau ful tribute to a wonderful lady, Ann was so loved by so many. The game itself probably wasn't the pre est game to watch as both teams worked hard to find the right combina ons. Defence dominated both ends with Sarah B having a great game, Lara and Chels also got their hands to many balls at crucial mes and gave us plenty of back-up in a ack. The all-new a ack line took a bit of me to se le each quarter as we con nue to look for the right combos to the girls credit every quarter was fought out for the full 15 minutes enabling us to take points in a hard-fought game. Welcome Georgia to the nest for her first game and thanks Nanna for the scrunchies, also welcome back Erin – its like you never le . Thanks to Lucy and Rosie for si ng bench and Abby who came on at half me and shot beau fully. Thanks, Grace, for scoring. Awards: Sarah (Beachport Hotel), Maddie (Somerset Hotel).

Congratula ons to all the junior netballers who won, how exci ng! It was also a posi ve sign that the few games we didn't win were in fact extremely close and this allows for improvement in the second round. It was also fantas c to see so many parents and supporters at the court, the current feeling around the club is great. Good luck this week to all, I hope you are all rewarded with a win. Junior 2: Well done on a great first game girls, every single one of you played an amazing game. With goals ge ng scored and lots of intercep on's and great passes. All of you picked up heaps of new skills already. Also a big thank you to Shelby for filling in from Tantanoola! This week's awards went to Kenzie (Bakers Delight) as it was her very first game of netball and scored the first goal! Well done everyone. Junior 1: Welcome back for another season. Excellent way to start the season. A lot of posi ves from the game. Great defending and great shoo ng. Worked great as a team. Gave it they're all. Thank you to Leah for si ng bench and to Tant for le ng us borrow Emie. Greatly appreciated. Best player was Asha Dinnison - Athlete's Foot. 13 & Under: Nangwarry 39 defeated Tantanoola 10. Great start to the season. We played a very undermanned Tantanoola side and we are very thankful to have been able to play the game. Very good team effort with everyone giving 100%. We made a number of changes and proved we are a very versa le team. We have lots to work on and look forward to seeing the improvement each week. Big thank you to Karli for coaching and Wayne for scoring. Donut King award went to Ella Clayfield for her talking and encouragement to her teammates. Ella drove well and passed with pinpoint accuracy. Brilliant effort Ella. 17 & Under: What an awesome first game girls, even though we didn't get the win, everyone played so well and we are so proud of you all. We had so many good plays all game and everyone was posi ve and kept going even when we were knackered, great to see so much determina on. Li le errors were only made when red, but with a bit of fitness we will soon stop those. Great team effort, keep it up this week. Pines Hotel award went to

Skye for her brilliant leading and feeding all game. B Reserve: Great game girls, maybe not on the scoreboard but as a team. We had a few injuries which meant we had a few changes but we adapted quickly. There were some great passages of play but also things we need to work on. Thank you Jayne for volunteering to play in your least favourite posi on and giving it you're all. I'm excited to see what the season brings as a new team. Best players: Jayne Bonney, Maxi Smith. B Grade: Welcome to season ladies! You should all be very proud of your first game. Whilst we all can admit we would have liked a win. We didn't drop our heads and kept working together as a team. Zoe and Bel worked hard as a new defence combo, Ellie and Kate both had a super game in the wings and Skye found her feet and her confidence grew as the game went on. Thank you to Tamara and Montana for coming to save the day when our numbers were dwindling and thanks to Amy and Jayne for si ng bench. Let's grow from here and see even more improvement in our next game. Best players: Zoe and Kate. A Reserve: With Jem out we tried a few different things, although we didn't get the win, we weren't disgraced. We had so many posi ves and good court plays just at mes we need to slow down and play our own game. When we were steady and didn't rush, we looked brilliant. Everyone ran and tried hard all game and never gave up which was also great to see. It was a very good first game and with a li le more training and playing together, everything will fall into place. Well done. A Grade: It was a tough start to the season facing an extremely determined and skilled Tant team. We started off strong and had some great passages of play, crea ng space and ge ng it into our goalies well. Ange and Tahlia did an amazing job up against some strong defence. Shan and I had a difficult task in trying to stop a dynamic duo from scoring goals. Unfortunately due to injury we had to make some changes which made it harder for us to stop their goalies. Eb and Kylie worked hard all game driving and reoffering down the court and were supported well by Taysha and Shandeen. All in all, I was very pleased with our first hit out, we stayed posi ve and kept our heads high and ran out the 4 quarters so that's all you can ask. We can only build on that with hard work at training and more games playing together. We are looking forward to welcoming Carly back into the team when she recovers. This week we have another tough game in Hatherleigh but we will give it our all. Best players were Ange Pra and Kylie Heaver.

NETball club notes Junior 2: What a great game, to all the girls who have played before and had their first game. We came out in all different posi ons each quarter. Everyone took in what we have been working on in training. Shelby Weedon got the encouragement award for making space and driving to the ball. Metalworx went to Ka e Waller who played a great game in defence ge ng a lot of touches. Every single one of you should be very proud with how you played. Well done girls! Junior 1: Well done to everyone! You all played a great 4 quarter game. You all made great leads into the space. Everyone intercepted well and had control down the court. It was good to see that you have been learning at training and having fun. Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award went to Charlo e and encouragement to Jaylee who both kept leading all day. 13 & Under: 15-36. Amazing effort girls. Everyone came out strong onto the court and had an amazing game, you all listened to what was said and played amazing. Ruby Buckley got second best for amazing intercep ons whilst in goal defence and centre. Violet Thorne received the Dycer Construc ons Award for amazing movement in and around the circle and listening and taking on what was said at training. Well done to all girls on a good first game! 15 & Under: 29-47. What a great way to start the season girls. You came out strong and willing to put up a good fight and you did just that. Everyone took in all feedback and adjusted their play. Alyssa Medhurst got the encouragement award for great switching from shooter to defence and Maloney Plumbing went to Montana Biggins, everything we prac ced at training you put into the game. Every single one of you should be very proud with how you played, especially Tayliah with her amazing effort to keep the ball in play. Well done girls! 17 & Under: 36-57. A fantas c effort to start the season girls! We all listened and adjusted when feedback was given. It was so awesome to see everyone gel together a er an interrupted start to the season. It just showed the poten al we have in this team. We have some simple things to take away from the game and focus on at training. Bringing it back to basics, we need to focus on passing in front and coming forward to the ball. Simple things that we can do to improve for our next game. It is looking to be a fun and successful season for us. We welcome Giaan Ferguson to the club this season and Amber Thompson also comes back a er having two seasons off. We can't wait to see what we can achieve for the rest of the season. Be proud of your efforts girls! A great four quarter effort by all. DeGaris Lawyers Award went to Amber Thompson and second best to Zoe Mulraney. B Reserve: 27-54. We all knew it was going to be tough. Coming up against

NETball club notes a strong side first up with new combina ons everywhere, made it hard. Everyone played well in the posi ons they were put in. We need to be pa ent with the ball and each other. Key 2 Sale Award went to Mickayla who stepped up into seniors and played well all the way down the court. Second best went to Alarna for her great game in defence. B Grade: 58-39. What a great start to the season! A er a disrupted preseason due to the big 'C', you all hit the ground running to claim the victory. Captain Mc (Sally) held off a much taller opponent all day to earn Planta on Treated Timber Award and was well supported by Dom and Amy making it extremely tough for Kalangadoo to convert. The a ack line was very pa ent and precise making sure they hit their target most mes and chased down loose balls anywhere on the court. I'm extremely proud of you all girls. Lets keep up the good work! A Reserve: 46-50. Fantas c effort. There were some excellent passages of play with a whole new line up for this season and I can't wait to see what the season has in store for us. Laura and Abbie, you worked well together talking and moving with one another. Alyce had some excellent drives and feeding in the circle and being pa ent and wai ng for the correct pass earning the B&P Travel & Cruise Award. Jessie, great voice, and encouragement throughout the whole game and providing great leadership which is why you were chosen as captain this year by the girls. Sam and Tameka had many turnovers all game even the smallest touches count so keep it up moving and talking to one another. Really good job girls at our first game together, we all have our own personal and team goals to work on, but was excellent to see the confidence and commitment by everyone, well done! A Grade: 57-30. What a fantas c start to season! We came out firing in the first quarter and our centre pass transi on was strong from the first whistle. Our early full court defensive pressure set us up for an 8 goal lead at quarter me. Jenna and Malinda combined effortlessly in the circle – coming forward at every opportunity. Donna, who received first best (O'Brien Electrical Award), ran hard all day and her and Ashlea's quick and precise feeding created space in the circle that simply shouldn't have been there! Our new look defensive end combined wonderfully for our very first hit out! Chloe had excellent hands over the ball and worked hard to hold up the play. Chantelle, who received second best (Commercial Hotel), had a ripper first game in defence pulling in rebounds and intercepts all day. We faded away slightly in the third quarter, but I was extremely proud of how we pushed out the game in the final quarter. An amazing team effort! Let's come out strong again today!

Our netball/football community would like to extend our hear elt thanks to everyone that assembled at the netball courts for the unveiling of the new court 1 bench seat in memory of Ann Guye and the minute silence prior to the A Grade netball and football commencing. It was wonderful to have both the Hatherleigh netballers and footballers line up alongside all of the Mount Burr players courtside for the one-minute silence. Ann touched so many lives with her friendly and kind nature. A well respected player and person, not only within our community but also in the wider community. Thank you to the following people for their contribu on of either me, materials or cra smanship in pu ng together the double bench memorial seat in memory of Ann: Peter and Anne Hughes, J and M Shanks Pty Ltd, In2trophies, Shane and Simone Westerman. Thank you to our business (major) sponsors, Laura and Vicki Hair Dressing, South East Property Sales, Kimberly Clark Australia, Your Choice Conveyancing and Banner Mitre 10. Junior 1 & 2: It was a great start to the season with a whole new team! Unfortunately, we were down a few players due to Covid and had to join both junior 1 & 2 sides. Despite this, all girls took the court and worked together well. With a young group of girls, we will have a few things to work on at trainings, we are looking forward to seeing each of the girls' confidence and skills improve! A big thank you to Sophie and Evie for filling in, great job! Awards went to Emily Lowndes and Alice Smith. 13 & Under: Bad luck girls, our first game with our new team. We worked hard all game and we will learn a lot from this game. We need to create space for each other and work the ball down the court with stronger passing. As we are working hard at training our court play which will improve over the next coming weeks, along with our passing. I saw some great team work which is such a posi ve for a coach to see. Welcome to Tess to our team as team manager, and doing a great job suppor ng me and the girls. Thanks to Zoe Brown for umpiring, Stacey for scoring and Bec for ming. Subway award went to Sophie Smith. 15 & Under: Well done girls! A strong and well fought first game back! A great way to start off the 2022 season. Super proud of all the girls for applying what we learnt at training to the game. Let's all keep it up and train strong, so we play strong. Amazing defence work with Macy and Sara, strong front cuts from our mid court and finally beau ful finishing off with Abbey and Kali in goals. Looking forward to a great season with this team. Subway award went to Abbey.

17 & Under: A great start to the 2022 season. We combined as a team well, crea ng many good passages of play and transi ons down the court. This led to us having a good lead at the first break. Defensive pressure over the court throughout the game was forcing many turnovers and scoring opportuni es. It was great to see the girls implement the things we've been working on at training to their game. S ll, improvements yet to be made but a great start to the year. Ducky's Surf award went to Olivia Dean for her relentless efforts in defence and versa lity in goals. B Reserve: Well done girls, a great start to the season. We started the game slowly, but with each quarter we started to combine well as a team, and our game became stronger. Our defence all over the court from everyone created many turnovers and our goalies made the most of their opportuni es from these turnovers. As a team we supported each other on and off the court and that is fantas c to see as a coach. We can take a lot from this game and work hard at training to improve on. Thanks to Ameila and welcome to our team as the manager, you will be a great support to me and the girls. Thanks to Madi Bowering for umpiring, Lily for scoring and Tess for ming. Denton's Sportspower award went to Faith. A Grade: An emo onal start to our 2022 season with tribute to our much beloved team mate Ann Guye . A shaky start to the game with a few errors across the court led us heading into the first break 3 goals down. The second quarter saw a strong defensive effort from Madi Hagge , youngster and A Grade debutant Olivia Dean and Simone Westerman which led to unforced errors from Hatherleigh and several strong intercepts. This pressure and consistency con nued throughout the 4 quarters. Ebony Clark and Zoe Brown combined well in goals for their first hit out together. We were able to gain a couple of goals this quarter being only 1 goal down at the half me break. Lauren Wheeler joined the court for the third quarter teaming up with Ebony in goals, this combina on changed it up a li le for the defence and saw us 1 goal ahead going into the last. Changes were made for the final quarter but unfortunately, we weren't able to hold onto our lead as we seemed to run out of legs and the desire to want the ball. Plenty to work on from here girls. Final score Mt Burr 34 - Hatherleigh 37. Heaven on a Hanger award went to Simone Westerman. Thanks to Jasmine Holland for si ng bench. Thanks also to Lisa for umpiring, Allen for scoring, Makaylah for ming and Tanya for being primary carer and taking good care of me!

NETball club notes Junior 2: The girls started off very nervous to begin with but once they got out there and got the ball down their end they were very energe c and into the game. Alyssa and Lily were absolute superstars in the goal ring with Alyssa (Crave Dessert Bar) ge ng the award for this week, with some help from Ashleigh's defence and Adele's mid court work. Was very shocked with how the girls played today but also very proud of them. Junior 1: A lot of excitement and energy started with the young Hawks from the J1 team. Defence with amazing rebounds, mid court showed great ball skills and great movement in the goal circle. A er nerves se led, Sophie and Havii in the circle showed some goal work and Holly's (Zambreros) intercep ons took best player out. 13 & Under: Despite Pt Mac having a very strong line up, the girls did not give up. Defence fought hard for the ball but we couldn't convert into goals. The one shot we had for the goal was a classic to celebrate. Proud of the sportsmanship in the girls. Awards: Bakers Delight - Molly, Boost Juice - Paige. 15 & Under: Huge thanks to the under 13's that filled in for us, so that we could fill the team. Great shoo ng from Hayley and Thalia, they was some good passages of play and defence work for Ruby and Holly. We just need to slow down play a bit, to focus on our passing and ge ng in front of our player. Awards: Crave Dessert Bar - Holly, Hungry Jacks - Ruby. 17 & Under: Although the score didn't end up going our way I am so happy with the way the girls put in a hard fought 4 quarters. The girls defensive pressure all over the court was amazing and they were able to show their ability in crea ng numerous turnovers and errors for the other team. Jasmine McKinnon and Isobel Jenkin worked relessly in the defensive circle against tall, accurate opponents but they both made them have to work for every possession and goal, making them our best players for the match. Jasmin McKinnon - Spring Collectve/Crave, Isobel Jenkin Vanity Makeup Bar.

NETball club notes B Reserve: Star ng off the season with a couple of injuries and setbacks didn't stop the posi vity throughout the team over the course of the game. The defensive team held up a ght game suppor ng many turnovers across the game. Nat (Lima and Co.) controlled the game as centre for the whole game suppor ng the flow and steadiness across the court. Well done ladies. B Grade: Great effort girls. For a team that's really only trained together twice, you did an amazing job. You played together as a team and your posi vity towards each other was fantas c to see. Looking forward to seeing what we can achieve over the season! Congratula ons to Sarah on playing her 250th game, you really are a super star! Awards: Fi h & Madison - Sarah, F45 Taylah. A Reserve: Welcome to season 2022 Felicias! Nervous all around for the first game but we got through it. Congratula ons to Megan on playing her 50th Senior game, you played a strong and confident game. Our defence worked hard to try and stop the ball before it got the sharp Bay shooters. We had some great passages of play through the a ack. Awards – Kelsey (Chemist King) & Zara (Birdie Blue). A Grade: Not the result we were hoping for but I cannot commend you girls enough for the way you ran out the game. With our first real run together as a side we have a lot we need to work on, but combined really well for the majority of the game to give us a real shot for the win. Rach and Kate ran their absolute guts out through the middle and our defensive end of Emily, Tori and Riley were absolutely relentless keeping us in the game with their high level pressure and forced turnovers. Evie Sealey played an absolute blinder in her A Grade debut against tough opposi on earning her best on (The Commercial Hotel) along with Riley Buckingham (Arena). Congratula ons to our milestones players last week, Jasmin McKinnon 50, Megan Bowering 50 and Sarah Gardin 250.

Kalangadoo Netball Club would like to start the season by thanking our Major Sponsors for 2022: Kalangadoo Hotel, Boost Juice, Skookum, Dallas Jeffree Pain ng, Mount Gambier RSL, Terry White Pharmacy, St Mary's Gin, Steeline Roofing, M.G. Plaster, Ben Mules Electrical, Fasta Pasta and Willow Finance. Junior 2: Amazing first game for these mini magpies! Gracie and Olivia started in C and WA with loud voices and strong drives staring Charlo e and Ariealla in the goals for the first half. Together they scrambled into the goal circle with lots of a empts at goal. Once Ariealla remembered not to step with the ball we had our first goal! Olivia with the scoring shots in the second half. Adele and Willow combined well in the defence circle with Elana and Grace working hard in WD. Awards: Gracie Malseed (Bakers Delight), Olivia Monaham (McDonalds). Junior 1: A great start for this firey li le team. Most of the girls are returning players from last year and have a bit of experience under their belt so it didn't take much more than a quarter for them to get back in the swing of things. Everyone played in various posi ons and showed some of the defensive and shoo ng skills they had been working on. Can't wait to watch the coming weeks and all the improvements that come with more games. Ashley - Bakers Delight, TeKani - HJ's. 13 & Under: A very pleasing effort from all girls in their first game together. The partnership of Kiersten and Lucy in goals strengthened each quarter. Ava (Kaboom Entertainment Award), Zara, Emmity and Molly all followed instruc ons well to make transi ons down court. Although opposi on had a height advantage, Molly (coaches' award) and Ma lda (Fasta Pasta Award) were impressive with their determina on and concentra on. Special men on to Lexi having her first quarter in 13's several touches and some lovely long passes. 15 & Under: Great effort for our first game girls. It's been a bit of a disrupted lead up so it was very pleasing to see how well you all played. Ash (Boost Juice Award) had a great game in GK turning the ball over for us and Molly (Paradise Pizza Award) was available and consistent all game in WA. 17 & Under: Fantas c start to the season, par cularly a er our shaking start to training (player availability etc). Sophie (Fasta Pasta award) was on all game passing into the circle with precision and touches in defence. Kori and Jenna combined seamlessly and found the space with ease. Allara created

countless op ons in a ack. Ebony (Boost Juice Award) got hands to so many balls and was backed up well by Maya, Shayden and Savannah. B Reserve: Nice to have a win - the much-needed ou ng with most players present has shown how much we can improve - exci ng! Emma Mules (Paradise Pizza Award) led the way with some great intercep ons and was well supported by Emily (Coach's Award). Jodi was a powerhouse in goals to take out the Federal Hotel award. Really impressed with our 3 improvised centres - great job! B Grade: First game back and we started off well. Strong work by the goalies in Gina and Rhianna made it hard for the Glencoe defenders. They were well supported by Isobelle at WA with her height another good advantage. Being 2 mid courters down, 1 isola ng and the other on her honeymoon, made keeping fresh legs hard through the centre. Meg stepping up into B Grade and playing C not her usual posi on but had some great intercepts. First game back for Steph in a couple of years and learning the court structure again. Emily in GK stepped up on some quality accurate goalies that were hard to isolate. All in all, we know the work that needs to be done through trainings and we will certainly be going up from here. Best was Isobelle and Emily. A Reserve: A er a disrupted start to the year and not much prac ce as an en re team I was super pleased with Saturday's efforts. We came out firing in the first quarter with great feeding and shoo ng down our a acking end. Shanae and Georgia got stronger and more confident as the game went along and did a fantas c job to adjust. Anthea and Jamie were consistent and steady for our young team and kept the pa ence when it was required. S ll plenty to adjust and work on in the coming weeks but a great star ng point and I'm so proud of how everyone held their composure. Best: Shanae - Terry White Chemist, Maddy - Fasta Pasta. A Grade: Good effort for our first hit out of the season. Understandably we started the match a li le slow and took some me to gain our momentum and rhythm. But well done for building in confidence and intensity throughout the match. There were some posi ve patches of play, together with some areas to work hard on and develop. Time is on our side, so let's con nue to prepare, support each other, and work hard. Thank you to Georgia and Maddy for si ng bench as well as Judy and Mel for your sideline support. Boost Award - Sophie, MG RSL - Kirsty.

ROUND 1 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW Kalangadoo 30 lost to Glencoe 57 In sunny condi ons, Kalangadoo debuted a number of players and took a while to gather momentum against a confident Glencoe side. Glencoe started the quarter strongly and applied great pressure from the first whistle, with the defensive combina on of Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks causing some early turnovers against Kalangadoo's goalie combina on of Estella Serle and Kori Collins. Glencoe's goal shooters Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz found plenty of space and rewarded their side's defensive effort to go into the first break with an eight goal advantage. Both teams remained unchanged during the second quarter and saw Glencoe increase their intensity with Donna Jaeschke running hard for Glencoe, feeding her goalies accurately. Glencoe's Sarah Edwards and Kalangadoo's Kori Collins had a ght contest with Edwards making Collin's earn every possession. Glencoe went into the main break with a twenty-two goal lead. Glencoe made no posi onal changes at half me, where Kalangadoo switched the goalie combina on and moved Sophie Wrightson into centre. This quarter was a ghtly contested tussle with Kalangadoo defenders Reanna Wetherall and Shanen Pulkkinen working hard to create turnovers and curve Glencoe's momentum, which resulted in an evenly scored quarter. The final quarter con nued at a high intensity with Glencoe's mid court posi oning well to feed their goalies with precision. Chantelle Cocks con nued to work hard on Kalangadoo's Kori Collins who was posi oning well for her feeders. Glencoe finished the game strong defea ng Kalangadoo 57 goals to 30. Kongorong 30 lost to Pt MacDonnell 38 The first quarter of the game saw both the Demons and the Hawks go hard at the ball in windy condi ons at Kongorong. Alana Winter in GD for the Demons was on from the second the first whistle blew, working hard over the shot and driving the ball down the court to add a real sense of pressure early in the game. The Demons se led earlier than the young Hawks with the a ack line of Port MacDonnell ge ng a good look at the ball, giving them a 3 goal lead heading into the first break. In the second quarter, the wind picked up even more than before causing issues for both teams across the court. The Demons' shooters had a par cularly dominant quarter with Brooke Williams dominant in GA shoo ng 5 from 6 for the quarter in windy condi ons. The Demons pushed their lead out by another goal at half me with Port MacDonnell 18

to Kongorong 14. The Hawks went into the third quarter with work to do, with the defensive end for Kongorong not giving the Demons an inch. Emily Lightbody and Tori McIntyre combined well in the circle aided with Buckingham's relentless pressure on the wing, with the Hawks able to pressure and force turnovers to give their side the boost it needed heading into the second half. The Hawks out scored the Demons 10 to 7 in the third term due to their back lines hard work, drawing the score to within 1 heading into the last break. Both teams con nued to fight hard defensively up either end as the windy condi ons didn't ease up. Winter and Megan Hein down the defensive end for the bay were both working over me for their side whilst Rachel Perry and Liza Mutch both didn't ease up pace through the middle in a thrilling contest down the court but it was the Demons that could get it done in the windy condi ons and pick themselves up the first win of their 2022 campaign.
