Junior Colts: It was a long day at the office for our young Roosters; experiencing their first loss for the season. It was certainly a reality check. To be fair the scoreboard did not reflect their effort and compe veness. Such is the nature of our game. To their credit they did not throw the towel in, that is all that can be asked, and is a good sign for the future. The Port Mac boys were much more efficient in maintaining control of the ball, and moving it forward. Their bigger bodies definitely caused issues for us. Credit where credit is due, they we too good for us on the day. Our post game chat, clearly indicated that our boys had learnt from the experience, and are looking forward to this week's challenge of improving. To be honest each player can be proud of themselves; they never shirked an issue. I am proud of all them. Every player did their best, and that is all we can ask. Special men ons: John who was inspira onal for all 4 quarters; Flynn again leading from the front, total commitment; Brodie and Vinne for sacrificing their natural games for the be erment of the team; Daniel and Nate for compe ng above their weight, they have a fearless a ack at the ball and on their opponents. Incen ve Awards: Union Café' - Nate Allen, Denton Sports Power - Jaxon Johns, Robe Seafood and Take Away 'Nugget Ward' - Daniel Hayes. Today is an opportunity to get back onto the winning list. It will only happen if our words become our ac ons. No team ever won a game by saying what they are going to do. The words of the great John Kennedy 'Just don't stand there, do something. Don't just say! Do! CockadoodoolDO!
B Grade: Travelling to Port Mac is always a challenge for a B Grade coach from Robe. With a local wedding, sickness and some other events on we managed just to scrape together a side. The help of 3 senior colts and four players who played there first game for the year was appreciated. From the first bounce it was ght out of the centre. Ollie Hagget was clean for his first game in there and Bram kept ba ling hard. We where going into the wind in the first and came into quarter me two points down. In the second quarter we managed to get a li le momentum and score a couple goals to lead by two at half me. (Thankfully for Port Mac’s inaccuracy). Half me’s
message was to move the ball forward quickly down the centre of the ground and for the forwards to put more pressure on the ball coming out. Especially that we had the wind against us. Thanks to Ferg and Kurray’s direc on from the backline, this was played out on the field. We managed to be one point up at three quarter me and everyone new what we had to do. It was simple, leave it all out on the field and score as many goals as we can. The team did this and did it well with Kaiden Carter scoring three goals for the day which was very impressive. Thanks to Port Mac for the well fought out game and good luck for the rest of the season. This week we have Hatherleigh at home which will be a good test for us against the reigning premiers. With some players back in I am looking forward to another good game. Go Roosters!
A Grade: Pt Mac turned the weather on for the visitors on Saturday and a large crowd was in a endance with car parking spaces around the ground difficult to find. The A Grade match turned on a spectacle for supporters of both the Roosters and the Demons as both clubs were undefeated at this early stage of the season. Robe were a bit apprehensive going into this match as the team had been hit by the football season wedding virus and players of the calibre of Wachtel, Miller and Deane were unavailable. A er an even first quarter Pt Mac clicked into gear and a five goal to two second quarter saw them leading the roosters by eleven points at half me which in a ght low scoring game appeared to be a significant lead. However, Robe’s coach asked his players to s ck to the game plan and con nue to play their role which resulted in a match winning third quarter which saw Robe keep the Demons goal less while scoring four goals. The last quarter was a hardfought affair in which both teams scored goals however Robe ran out winners by 16 points. Robe’s midfield of Woodward and Lawrie provided the grunt and con nually pushed the ball forward while Pe t played his usual selfless role for his team ably assisted by Walker, however the difference between the teams was the performance of Brown who worked hard around the ground and contributed six goals while res ng in the forward line.
A Grade: Last week we welcomed back several key players and came up against an improved Kongorong. Ge ng a good start was impera ve and we were able to do this, even though it could have been be er kicking 5.5 in the 1st quarter. The 2nd was a ght tussle, evenly scored with the ball moving up and down the oval very quickly Our ball movement from defence was good, but just our final kick forward was le ng us down and making life hard for our forwards. It was pleasing to see the guys respond in the 2nd half when we kicked 8 goals in the 3rd term. Our improved ball use and forward pressure gave the likes of Paddy, Sauce Brown and Telf the opportuni es they desired and they were able to convert. Kongorong came out in the last and gave me a scare as they kicked the first 3 goals but we were able to se le with a couple of our own to run out 59 point winners. It was a real team effort with everyone playing well, but men ons to Eli Kneen and Dylan V down back, Jed Telfer and Jimmy Telford in the middle, and Jack Sully and Paddy Chay up forward.
B Grade: Well another cracking day of weather to kick off our second game, we talked about Kongorong during the week and knew we were up for a challenge, the game was high pressure and finals like. The game was in the balance at half me and we hit the ground running In the 3rd quarter to get it back on our terms, and be up by 4 goals at the main break to end up winning by the same margin. Todd Wa o lead from the front to take out BOG, Je Faults had a great game at half forward to be named second. Shanksy con nued his great start to the season. Sid Reeves took out fourth best ba ling in the ruck for his first club game. Chooka
Lang was solid in defence once again. Off to robe this week for another big test.
Senior Colts: The colts had a tough contest against Kongorong, in which it was pleasing to see our boys rise up to the challenge and run away winners in the last quarter. Selec ng 5 best players was a difficult task as we had a lot of solid contributors on the day. Hudson Nowak had a great game at CHB, chopping the ball off and disposing the ball with great efficiency. Oliver Fitzgerald was a big target for us around the ground, finding plenty of the ball and using it cleanly. Charlie Sims and Aus n Ne le provided plenty of run off half back, while Tyson Atkinson stepped up in the last quarter kicking 3 goals to ice the game. We look forward to the challenge we have this week, as we head down to take on Robe.
Junior Colts: Unlucky again last week against Kongorong, with a couple our top age ball winners out we struggled to match Kongorong’s midfield, with Kongorong ge ng first use out of the middle and repeat forward entries our backs were under pressure, they s ll fought well and rebounded the ball out, but we just struggled to get the link up between wing and into our forward line. Thanks to the players for helping out Kongorong who were a tad short including young gun Thomas Atkinson who kicked 3 of their majors (coaches fault ha) but showed good sportsmanship. Plenty to work on for our group but I feel a few wins are only around the corner.
Under 11: This week we had a good hit out with Kongorong. The boys played really well and worked well as a team. Fred, Sam, Tyler, Colton and Archie all played great games.

Junior Colts: The boys came out firing in the first quarter. They really gave it and held their own against a bigger side. Both Jimmy and Reed had tough assignment on a bigger ruckman but won the tap consistently. The midfielders showed a lot an improvement winning majority of centre clearances. Plenty of posi ves to take away from a loss this week. Excited to see what these boys can do this week against Port Mac.
Senior Colts: Last weekend we took on a undermanned Kalangadoo team who give us a wake up call in the first quarter before we came away with a comfortable win in a great team effort. Best players were Cohen Montuori, Charlie Bevan, Bradlee Lawson, Kallan Bevan, Caleb Carr and Sam Hunt. Another big test awaits us this week home against Pt Mac.

B Grade: A er a solid win against Tantanoola we knew the assignment would be tougher when we faced Kalangadoo away from home on Saturday. The team started with great energy and took it up to our opponents for about a quarter and a half. A er that the bigger and more experienced opposi on controlled the game. To our credit, despite the injuries, the boys fought the game out well and walked off the field with their heads up. Congratula ons to Will Wheaton (not the actor) for making his Mozzie debut. Best players were Je Bowering, Jacob Gregory, Dan Jankowski, Harry Corman, Brodie Robbins & Harvey Muhovics. With the umpire shortage we were really thankful that Dale Bowering could help umpire the game, this was appreciated by all of our players and supporters.
another youngster - Sam Hunt. Hunty’s made a big impact since joining the club this year as an Senior Colt and is an impressive young player, congratula ons again on your debut mate. We knew the Doo were going to be a big test for us and what a game of football is was. A lot of back and forth all day, with Kalangadoo coming out a er half me and really pu ng the pressure on heading into the last quarter. Some huge efforts and desperate football were what we needed to come away with a 1 point win and reclaim the Harry Bo Memorial Shield. Goal Kickers - K. Bevan 3, J. Gregory 2, W. Bowering 1, N. Muhovics 1, D. Ridley 1, J. Wallis 1. Best players - Calum Sparkes who ba led all day in the ruck. Undersized and up against some bigger bodies, Spanksy was able to work all game to get us the upper hand. Kal Bevan whose last quarter was massive for us, along with his hanger on the wing! A great game and another reminder of how special this kid is. Sam Wallis who once again worked his opponent over all game and fought hard to repel each K’Doo a ack. Dyl Ridley whose class and poise con nuously kept the game within reach. Works all day and rarely beaten. Tay Allen again for his relentless work in the middle. Crashes in and plays with heart every single game. Knife Stanley who helped keep our backline se led and rebound when we could throughout the day. Another who played a big last quarter
Saturday saw us wear Green & Gold armbands in support of Burr Boy Zac Watson who has recently been hospitalised a er a motor bike accident. Once a Burr Boy, Always a Burr Boy. Sending all our support your way mate.
Onto Pt Mac this week @ Mt Burr A Grade: Round 3 took us down to Kalangadoo for another big day of football. Some welcome addi ons back to our A Grade team along with the debut of
Go Mozzies.

Mini Colts: Under 11's came away with another clear run and what a beau ful morning! Best players thanks to McDonalds Jagger, Nixon, Dane and Jaxon. Goal Kickers Dane, Levi, Zac, Jagger, Max, Brock and Kade.
Junior Colts: Last Saturday we faced off against an undefeated and top of the table Robe in what was going to be a tough game of footy The weather gods weren’t kind to the kids as the rain started falling at the start of the game. Training on Thursday started slow and then picked up, so we talked about making sure we were ready to hit the ground running from the first bounce and to the teams credit they managed to do that. We won the ball out of the middle and struggled early to hit the scoreboard, but movement back inside opened up the goals to allow for easier scoring. This play con nued throughout the day with a fantas c team display. It’s encouraging to see handballs given to runners, balls kicked to players on their own no ma er who they are. Our team is star ng to gel, and the level of teamwork will hopefully only improve the more we play with each other. Best players could’ve been given to anyone on the team as every player did their bit when it was their turn. Brody Pra was best player with a fantas c display across half forward and kicking 2 goals and se ng up many more. Harry Carroll con nued a superb run of form through the midfield and half forward racking up possessions at will. Zane Lewis led from the front again with another solid captain’s game both through the middle and at half back crea ng plenty of drive and dash. Cayden Byrne is playing great footy at the moment with excellent skills in the forward line se ng up plenty of goals. Tyler Neale managed to get on the end of a few a er moving up forward and ended the day with 4 majors while also handing off more with some great team first play. Je Lewis ended the game with 4 goals and probably could’ve kicked a bag had he held on to some more marks. However always competed and created when the ball went to ground. Some encouragement awards were also given out to TJ Howard who had plenty of ball and great skills. Blake Lasle who had a great last quarter especially with his a ack on the ball. Goal kickers: Je Lewis 4, Tyler Neale 4, Harry Carroll 2, Naite Fox 2, Brody Pra 2, Kane Gilbert 1, Blake Lasle 1.
Senior Colts: A er some wet condi ons for te junior colts, the weather seemed to brighten up for our senior colt boys, ready for a cracker game between 2 top sides so far this season. We knew that Robe was going to be a very good challenge for the group and the first quarter provided an even contest where we managed to sneak in front by 2 points. The second quarter was also another arm wrestle as Robe took the lead by 4 points at half me. With the game in the balance our boys stepped up a notch and provided plenty of scoring shots, kicking 4 goals to none to take the lead by 4 straight kicks at 3 quarter me. Once again our goal kicking was inaccurate, but the posi ve is that we are ge ng the ball in there and crea ng chances. As we move forward we will start bcoming more accurate. In the last quarter we started well, kicking a couple of goals into the wind, before Robe started a late comeback, but fortunately we had a good enough lead and ran out 19 point winners in what was a great display of senior colt football from both sides. Our boys will take confidence from the win, but keep taking each game as it comes and con nue to work hard at training. With 7 on the bench it is quite hard with rota ons but we have been trying our best to be fair and the boys a tudes have been great.
Best players listed on the day were Luke Richards, Bradley Neale, Aidan Telford, Archie New, Zeb Chant & Kai Gilmore. Goal kickers were Luke Richards 3, Deegan Habner 2, Brodie Anderson 2, Riley Morgan, Jacob Spehr and Bradley Neale 1 a piece.
B Grade: Pt MacDonnell 4.9 lost to Robe 7.6. Rrrrrrr… spu er... RRRrrr… spu er. You could be confused and think that this was a car trying to start with a flat ba ery or maybe a problem with the spark plugs but this was the way our B grade game sounded and felt. A promising start and compe ve for ten minutes, then spu er. Next quarter, ten minutes of well contested play then spu er... then a third term exactly the same and a fourth that felt like we might be spinning our wheels and in need of the RAA! Robe certainly had the goods but we kept with them and the scoreboard reflected this as we were pre y much goal for goal over 3 terms. We were only 2 points down at the start of the 4th quarter, when Robe found an extra gear and booted three goals to our one and effec vely sealed our fate as our back paddock ute popped, whizzed and banged. There was a lot of effort for li le reward at the end of the day and the boys may need to li the hood and check if the carby needs a clean or if it's running on all cylinders. Whatever the problem is, its obvious that a li le more work and fine tuning needs to be done. With Baz O'Dine called up to the A's (told you!) Aaron Harding was given the chance to help the B's. A er a shaky start he got into the groove, providing some effec ve passages of play and even booted a goal, earning himself a B.O G from stand in coach Ducky O'Dine. Jai Li le managed a single goal while mul ple goal scorer Mason Brown, added 2 more majors to his stats and a few more minors to his S.O.S stats too!
Welcome back Grady Hutchesson, who along with Rory Na rass did most of the ruck work through the centre, both crea ng opportuni es for our regular runners like Jack Cawthorne and Ryan Von Stanke. Bradan Tilley and Ma “Mortal” Stark slogged it out on the flanks and back lines, ge ng in amongst the packs and quite o en giving us the breakaway we needed to bring the ball forward. Senior colts, Alex Lamb, Jai Li le, Archie New and Bradley Neale (all stand outs like Bradley's orange boots) are s ll acqui ng themselves with high dis nc on giving us the nitrous oxide boost we need as the quarters wind down and the more mature players are star ng to run out of gas. The beast that is B Grade is a hard thing to muster, par cularly as the winter nip starts to hit the air, the days get shorter (like our available player list), the (training) nights colder, and one starts to wonder why they said yes to playing this year. You said yes because you wanted to play with your mates and have another go, because you love the club, because this year could be our last stand in the MSEFL, so MAKE IT COUNT! and have a red-hot go. We now have a road trip to Mount Burr so don't forget to pack the boots, the shorts and socks, your never say die a tude and most importantly the Aeroguard! Go Demons!
A Grade: It was a very compe ve game on the weekend. Robe are a strong side that played 4 quarters of football. It was a good test for our boys and we showed we can go with the best. We will go away and work hard on a few improvements that we can make and be be er next me we play. Colby Munro had another great game and is showing this consistency week in and week out. Our vice captain Mark Smith has also been giving his all and leading from the front. Looking forward to playing Mt Burr next weekend.
A Grade Coach: Shane Raymond
B Grade Coach: Butch Muhovics
Well done to the Junior Colts who won with a goal 30 seconds to go and also to the B grade who both got wins last week against Tantanoola. It is good to have some compe ve sides ge ng wins/draws early and placing themselves in the top 4. Also a big thanks to all those who made it to the RSL Saturday night to support a club sponsor the turnout was fantas c. We look forward to seeing you all back their again and many more for Bogan Bingo a er Port Mac.

Under 11: Today our boys and girls took to the field to play Tant and what a day for football the weather was perfect and all the kids got in and had a crack. It was good to see the ball being shared around thanks to Tant for lending us a few to even up numbers, it is rewarding to see all the kids coming of the ground with smiles on their faces. Let's all get to training
this week. Best player was young Smasher Junior Colts: Absolute nail biter down Tant but our boys have come out with their 2nd win for the year. Albeit we had a slow start only managing 1 point to Tants 2 goals in the first. Some big marks and big tackles from Jack Barry and Blake Herron got the ball rolling and the boys found their groove for the next 2 quarters slo ng 4 majors and a few handy points and keeping Tant to 1 goal. Only being up 6 at the start of the last quarter, we needed one last big effort and the boys delivered. The whole last quarter was t for tat and we found ourselves ed with maybe a minute half le . Joshy Manninen gave us a li le late spark with a brilliant run from half back to give us one last inside 50 and chance to score. Some fantas c forward pressure by Tayte and Harvey Virtanen set up a brilliant Harvey goal and the win! Fantas c efforts all round a great team effort and we look forward to our next challenge, Kdoo at Nangwarry.
B Grade: Well what a way to start the season a draw, and a win. The first quarter we should have won the game but instead we kicked 9 points. A er that the boys se led down and got on the scoreboard. The back line held there on well in the last quarter to get us a win. Congratula ons to the new players who played their first game for the club. Best BJ, Moore, Thomson, Hoody, Sco y, and a special men on to Noah. Goals Noah 2 Hagget 2 Clayfield 1 Thomson 1 Stewart 1 Big game against k/doo this week, see you all on the track Cheers
A Grade: As predicted the contest was hotly contested from the first bounce. We kicked against a favourable breeze in the first quarter and kept Tant within reach before taking advantage of the breeze in the second quarter to go into the main break only 2 goals down. Tant made more of their opportuni es in the second half and we congratulate Jack Dawe on his first win as a senior coach. Best players Adam Todd, Jack Pudney, Dylan Podobnik, Tyler Virgo, Joel Virtanen and Josh Smith. This week we look forward to hos ng Kalangadoo in the inaugural Mental Health Awareness Match suppor ng a very important cause and we look forward to a great turnout for the day suppor ng the mighty Saints.

Is there anything be er than a sunny Saturday morning, driving into the gate to be welcomed by Auldy & Boxy as Round 3 saw us back at Magpie Park and welcoming Mt Burr with the seniors playing for the Harry Bo Memorial Trophy. As drive in the gate there was an awesome site on the ground with some organised chaos and nearly 40 U11’s running around and the watchful guise of Boxy as they strut their stuff in front of plenty of families. the us make the trip to Robe in what were perfect condi ons for footy and saw us take on very strong and determined Robe ou its and with Boxys bigrade kicking the dew off the grass and ge ng the day underway. This week we welcomed another Junior Game Day Sponsor in The Roadhouse on O’Leary Rd who’s contribu on to the club is greatly appreciated.
Junior Colts: The signs have been there over the last few weeks that the young maggies were really building and with the addi on of a couple of new players the signs were there early that a breakthrough win could be on the cards. The young mozzies were a few numbers short and Macca always happy to loan a couple across to make a game of it made for a very ght 1st quarter with a young but lively Alex slo ng through his 1st goal to register the only major for the quarter. The 2nd quarter was s ll tough going with only 1 goal kicked by each side but the young maggies were working hard but not quite ge ng the score on the board. Half me Macca made a few changes around the ground and asked his young chargers to push hard this quarter, believe in the work and back each other in. This saw register 3 majors while keeping the Burr scoreless and se ng the game up and finishing off with another 3 in the last to score confident boos ng 44 point win. Was standing room only in the changerooms as the song was sung load and with plenty of smiles. Best players were a tough one for Macca but hard to go past Lachy McCann, Elodie Burr, Joe Box, Alex Lee with 4 in his 1st game, Jack Newton & Darcy Wurst.
Senior Colts: In what was always going to be a tough day out for our colts as they came up against a very well drilled and handy Mt Burr squad there were some good signs early on the the boys had come to play as they took it up to them in the 1st quarter with some hard contested football and good ball movement to score a couple of our own and hold them to only 4. The next 2 quarters saw our boys chasing and defending hard but unable to slow them up. However there were some shining lights with Blunay thrown into the ruck in the second quarter and compe ng hard and the reless hard work around the ball from Brycie & Nater. The last quarter Tommy asked for the lads to take something out of the game, play with some pride and take the game on wich they did and managed to once again hold the Burr while scoring another couple
ourselves thanks to hard work and smooth movement again from Coop and Connor being on the end of plenty to register 4 the game. Best players went to Nater, Brycie, Coop and our boy Blu who for his second game is looking like a footballer already
B Grade: Classic B Grade football at the moment with a number of player changes each week due to injury, work commitments and a range of any other reasons, however with this in mind it was great to get a win against Mount Burr last weekend. We always knew that it was going to be a tough contest especially when Mount Burr have healthy player numbers and were coming into the game with winning form. A er a really ght first quarter our on ballers of Jacob Simmonds, Nathan Reeves, Liam Hay & Tyler Jones were able to start ge ng first use of the ball and stoppages which enabled Bre Lindner to kick some really important goals. Just as pleasing is the work of our half backs of Gus Widdison, Tom Jerome and Adam Blom who were able to stop many Mount Burr forward entries but also provided some really great run and carry which eventually opened up the game and provided us with a really solid win. This week we head to Nangwarry to play a much improved Saints B Grade side. We look forward to the game and challenge but more importantly par cipa ng in the first of many games between Kalangadoo & Nangwarry with a focus on mental health awareness.
A Grade: The boys were up and about early for Weap’s 100th that has been a long me coming and with the line up while s ll not 100% is star ng to look a li le more se led managed to start be er than have in previous weeks with a 6 point lead at quarter me with the big targets up forward looking menacing and could be on for a big day. Second quarter we couldn’t quite get the game on our terms with the backline having to defend hard and our forwards couldn’t find enough of the ball found us down at the half by 8 points but s ll wel within the game. Lynsey asked for a li in intensity during the break and the Maggies came out in the 3rd and played some of their best footy with the mids ge ng on top and winning the clearances and ge ng the ball down quickly to the forwards who were able to get their hands on it and kicking 4 goals to 1 to take a 12 point lead into the last quarter. The game was their for the taking in the last with both sides kicking more points than goals but we just couldn’t hold the Mozzies off in what was a extremely ght and tough last quarter that could have gone either way to go down by the narrowest of margins. Best players in what was a tough encounter went to Connor, Tye, Lachy, Sam Casey, Jayky and Shuey who was back for his 1st game in 12 months. A solid week on the track ahead as we look for the short trip through the pines to take on an ever-improving Nangwarry on their home deck.

The new scoreboard should be completed this week with the installa on of the signage above it. A big shout out to Thomas Foods Interna onal for their support, and the District Council of Grant, enabling us to replace the scoreboard. A great achievement, and thanks again to Dick Waters and Daniel Ashby for all their hard work in ge ng it up and installed. We took the trip to Hatherleigh last week and enjoyed some sunshine and great hospitality. Unfortunately, not too many wins for the Hawks, in both football and netball. Write ups and awards as follows:
Under 11: A good effort from all players today. They delivered the ball well and held their marks, which resulted in goals for us. All the hard work at training is star ng to show on Saturdays. Thank you to Ryan & Jacko Bald, Tyler Richo & Peter Gordon for their assistance at Training. Awards: Intersport - Connor Gordon, Coaches Award - Zach Paech, Presidents Award: - Ted Ellis, Rob & Amy Whi y Award - Jack Maidment and Donut King - Nathaniel Elletson.
Junior Colts: A very undermanned side for us this week with a couple boys away with holidays and a bit of flu ge ng around. Fortunately, our older boys were in very good from start to finish to get us in the game. Thanks to the Hatherleigh boys for lending a couple players including Tommy the goal sneak helping us score a couple early goals. A good ba le and we were lucky to come out victorious. Sixth best with a great game playing up from minis was Connor Gordon. Paradise Pizza Award and fi h best another young bloke having his first crack in the middle Angus Maidment. Fourth best and the Janeway Plumbing Award went to Axel Page working all around the ground. Top 3 could go to any of these blokes on their day, third best for Spot-On Fishing Award was Declan Richardson. The Lucas Family Award went to Blake Telford and best with Aussie Disposals Voucher went to Ryan Lucas. Another good effort from the boys hopefully to be backed up against Glencoe.
Senior Colts: A solid effort in the first three quarters, leading heading into the last, but unfortunately, we let them kick away to take the win by five goals. Plenty to work on as a
team in the coming weeks, but good signs came out of the game. Will Von Stanke was named best, followed by Shak Von Stanke with some strong marking in front of goals, Toby McKinnon, Tyler Richardson, Jobe Janeway and Harrison Elletson comple ng the best players. Congrats to Jack Aus n on ge ng picked to play in the Seniors, well done.
Reserves: A er a great first half, a ten-minute lapse by us and a strong burst by an experienced Eagles ou it, in the third, proved to be the difference. Whilst we aren't happy about the outcome, we understand that with hard work and some more game me with each other we should improve. Award winners were Rob Hein - Killara Food Centre, Will Von Stanke - Collins Court Butcher, Shaun Beard - Commercial Hotel, Sandy Cameron – Pick Ave Deli Award, Andrew Telford - Club Tea with Dan Hann rounding out the best players. Special shout out to all our volunteers and helpers who put in so much to allow us to get on the park each week. We all appreciate your hard work.
Seniors: Boys started out well, being around the mark for the first and second quarter. Third quarter started alright but the second half of it the boys fell into old habits allowing Hatherleigh to kick away. Coming into the fourth the boys again started well ge ng back to within 4 goals but then allowed Hatherleigh to finish off with a few just to widen the margin. Ma Roberts worked relessly to get the Commercial Hotel Award. Ethan Norman was solid all game to get the Killara Food Centre Award. Brandon Kranz always puts in 110% and took home the Collins Court Butcher Award. Jacka Ryan, with his bag of goals, received a Club Tea Award. Ma Cordy's consistent effort gaining him the Club Tea Award and the Pick Ave Deli Award went to Bryn Weaver
A good effort by the players and commi ee at the woodchop on Sunday. Loads of bluegum available, please contact Jacqui if you need a load.
Shuffle Night at the Club a er playing Glencoe, always a fun night, so make sure you stay around and support the netball and football clubs, bus will run into town for drop-offs.

Welcome to Round 4 of Mid SE Football. Last weekend saw us have the bye a er 2 rounds of football and netball. Some interes ng results so far for us a er 2 hit outs, let's hope this next stretch of games brings forth some wins and consistency across all games. As always thanks to our Major Sponsor this year Midwinter Mechanical and our weekly game day sponsors. Also, thanks to our game day volunteers for last rounds first home game of the year who helped us get through a busy first game. More hands make light work, so if you are not busy on game day please shout out and lend a helping hand.
Junior Colts: The Junior Colts had their first win of the year and played some terrific footy to beat an always good side in Hatherleigh. Final scores were 43 to 9. They played fast paced footy and managed to stall any a acks the opposi on made throughout the game. Hopefully, they can con nue this form into this weekend's game against the reigning premiers. Tom Richards was the pick of the goal kickers with 3. Best players were Bailey Dale, Sam Haase, Kallan Price, Jed Sinkunas, Les Jaggar and Jack McGrath.
Senior Colts: The Senior Colts were always going to be up against facing off alongside an always strong Hatherleigh senior colts team. The boys were consistent with their effort throughout all four quarters but just struggled to find ways to score and keep the ball in our forward half. The final score being 17 to 73. Brodie Pfitzner kicked our only 2 goals. Best players were Tyrone SiebertNorman, Patrick Langsmith, Digby Richards-Fennell, Riley
Ferguson and Declan Mutch.
B Grade: The Reserves had a few players back from Round 1 and showed a much more consistent effort and performance. The score line, 25 to 121, did not reflect the way some of the guys went about it and how well they played, with the game running away from us in the 2nd half. But that's what happens when you play the top team that's won 4 or 5 flags in a row. We will con nue to improve and once everyone is consistently on the training track results will come. Best players were Trent Hawke, Jayson Finnis, Byron Tentye, Darcy Williamson, Isaac Stubberfield and Ben Hentschke.
A Grade: The Seniors had their first win of the year against last year's runners up to the tune of a thumping 25.11.161 to 9.10.64 point win. Although our opposi on had a couple of players out, we were the same in Round 1 and you can only play what's put in front of you. We played with a lot more pace than usual and this helped are 2 key forwards in Tory and Sauce. Our midfield was on top most of the game and our defence played for each other to rebound many a acks. Tory Weaver managed to bag 9 goals but could have had 15. Jack Miller somehow kicked a goal from the back pocket so we must have been up by a bit. Let's hope we can carry some momentum into this rounds game. Best players were Tory Weaver, Patrick Mitchell, Henry Smith, Jack Edmonds, Zacc Cocks and Dylan Childs.

Lara Macgregor’s passion for netball started at the Hatherleigh Netball Club at age 8 in 2011 as part of the Junior 2 side. From an early age Lara's notable talent touted her as 'one to watch,' making her 17&U debut at the age of 13 while s ll playing U15's, her rapid climb into the senior ranks saw her playing in the A Reserve side in 2015 and onto the A Grade court debu ng in 2016 at age 15.
Lara went on to play 116 junior games and today hits the 100 Senior game milestone against Robe.
Very well-known throughout the Mid-South East netball circles, Lara predominately plays GD/WD, a tenacious, disciplined, and compe ve player she never gives up un l the final whistle. As one of the last lines of defence Lara is steadfastly reliable with the ability to pull off remarkable intercepts at the most crucial mes and is always an op on for every pass down the court.
Lara has been the recipient of junior Best & Fairest awards for the Hatherleigh Netball Club on four occasions winning the 13&U in 2013, 15&U in 2015 and back to back Best & Fairest awards in 2017 and 2018 as a member of the 17&U sides.
MSENA representa on saw Lara selected in the 13&U, 15&U, and 17&U teams from 2013 to 2018, capping off her final year in juniors by being awarded the 17&U Mid South East Netball Associa on Best & Fairest as well as the Mid South East Netball Associa on Junior consistency award polling in all 16 games of the 16 games played throughout the season.
As a first year senior Lara won the club’s 2019 A Grade Best & Fairest Runner-up, and has been voted Captain on numerous occasions, a credit to the trust she has ins lled in fellow team mates and coaches to lead her team.
On behalf of the Hatherleigh Netball Club, we congratulate you Lara on 100 senior games.
Hatherleigh head down to Robe this weekend to play off against the Roosters. Hatherleigh’s Erin Watson and Robe’s Annie Regnier will both fight hard for the ball through the court, chasing up loose balls and crea ng turnovers. Robe have a strong goal circle line up, being able to u lise Tori Gluyas, Halle Carter or Demi Carter within their circle, all able to shoot with accuracy. Hatherleigh’s Lara MacGregor and Elly Redden will need to work over me to get hands over balls and pull in any poten al rebounds. Rosie Ne le will work hard outside the circle for the Eagles to put pressure on passes and forcing errors for Robe’s a ack line. Robe defenders Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins move well in the circle, making it difficult for Hatherleigh goalies. This game will be a tough one, with both teams figh ng for the win.
Mount Burr host the Demons this weekend, in what has the poten al to be a close game. Both teams are spor ng strong line ups this season, with accurate goalies down both ends of the court. Megan Hein and Kori Collins move well within the circle for Port MacDonnell, however there will be a lot of pressure from Mozzies Olivia Dean and Megan Thiele, who use their height to their advantage. Demons Alysha Coon and Alana Berkefeld are able to create turnovers with ease, ge ng up over the ball and forcing errors from their opposi on. Mount Burr’s Caitlyn Payne and Laura Schultz combine well through the midcourt, feeding their goalies with ease. This game could go either way, both teams are strong and will fight to get the win.
Kalangadoo head to Nangwarry this weekend to play off again the Saints. Kalangadoo goalies Ebony McDiarmid and Abbey Duncan are able to move well together and find the space in the circle with ease. Nangwarry defenders Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock will need to apply pressure throughout the game, staying on their toes and keeping the Magpies goalies occupied. Saints Demi Hoffmeister and Kate Bizko combine well, with Hoffmeister shoo ng accurately so far this season. Lauren Kain and Jane Auld both work over me and will create turnovers in Nangwarry’s a acking end. Kalangadoo will come away with the points, however the Saints will put up a tough fight.
The Hawks and Murphies go head to head this weekend at Kongorong. Hawks Riley Buckingham and Emily Lightbody fight relessly for their team and will snatch up any missed shots or wayward passes from Glencoe’s a ack line. Glencoe goalies Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks are able to read the ball with ease and are fed well from outside the circle by Donna Jaeschke. Down the other end of the court Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen will create pressure and force turnovers from Kongorong’s goal circle. Kongorong’s Rachel Perry is able to control the ball around the circle edge and will feed into Hawks goalies Tilah Buckingham and Evie Sealey with accuracy. Both teams will come out firing, but Glencoe will finish the day with the win.
