ROBE ROOSTERS

Junior Colts: It was great to have a win, hopefully there are many more to come. It proved to the team that hard work at training will eventually pay off It was a real team effort, supporng each other, doing the team things, and having a 'real crack' at every contest. Thanks, to the 10 year old boys, that stepped up at the last minute, to cover our player shortage. Just as well they did due to some older players needing to be 'iced up' in the later stages of the game. An indicaon to our team first mentality, was that we had 8 goal kickers. Players considered to be our top performers were: Conrad, Byron, Dylan, Eli, Nate and Boodah. This week we must have the same 'intense mind' set, in order to keep the momentum up and build on last week's performance. Basically 1 step forward / no steps backward. All the best team. Carpe Diem

Senior Colts: Round 3 and we took the trip down to Kongorong with only 16 to take on the Hawks. Aer a slow start we got into the game with some great team work but the fact we had no interchange started to take its toll as we just ran out of puff in the last quarter but once again the boys showed great spirit to push ll the end. We look forward to this week when we hope to have a full team to choose from to play K’doo. Best went to Archie, John, Kaiden, Myles, Blake and the coaches to Wellsy

A Grade: Great team win by the Roosters. Goals were hard

to come by in the first half, having 16 scoring shots for only 3 majors. Kongorong had applied good pressure on us throughout the first two quarters, making it difficult to get consecuve possessions and clear scoring shots. Aer halime with the boys starng to use their voice, play with more poise and be more selfless, things opened up for us. Coach Brown pung on a clinic out of the goal square kicking 8 majors in the last half in a dominant best on ground performance. Back 6 were strong again, led by Jack and Zac and JR. Midfield got on top as well in the second half, Woody, Dins and Dunny sending us forward countless mes and working hard around the ground. Woka also giving us first use in the centre (geng a lile rest courtesy of first gamer Seb Moore). Sam Bates also showed his class up forward, kicking a couple and seng up a few more. Let’s get around the Roosters this weekend for the big clash against K’doo!

football club notes

Aer a couple of away games to start the year, it was nice to be back at Magpie Park to take on the Eagles in what always provides some quality footy throughout the day and this was no different. With no footy on the oval the guys had it looking in great condion all be it with some of the local wildlife had been enjoying the scenery as well over the last few days.

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice.

Under 11: With Boxy away the reigns were handed over to Chrissy & Reevsey and with an abundance of numbers they had the 2 games running for the Auskickers & Minis. Driving into the oval early you would be mistaken for thinking there was a fesval of footy on with the number of players and parents on the oval watching. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King & Compton Street Bakers delight with the awards going to Billie, Issac, Axel & Frank.

Junior Colts: Aer a win the week before the Maggies were looking for a repeat performance up against the young Eagles. 1st quarter started fairly even with both teams working out where they could maximise their opportunies with Eagles managing to get on top but we sll finding plenty of the ball. The young colts couldn't match their opponents in the second as they got a run and kicked away to a handy lead at the half. To the players credit and aer some urging from Macca the main break they steadied the ship and with the mids and backs working hard baled out the game but just could match the run of the Eagles over the 4 qtrs. Best players went to Nathaniel – Spot On, Lachy – Bunnings, Jack – OK Pie Shop, Frank – Bakers Delight & Axel & Koby – Coaches Award.

Senior Colts: Thanks to Phoenix O'Dine who came across from the Bay for a game and even registered a goal along with Paddy & the Hatherleigh boys for coming across and making sure we got a game. Saw some good

passages of play throughout the game but was played in good spirits from both sides. Have to menon the junior colts who come up each and every week for a game in Lachy, Charlie, Nathaniel & Jack, it's a long day for you lads but appreciate you lads making the effort. Best players went to Axel – Road House, Nater –Country Atude, Nathaniel – KD's Deli, Jack – OK Pie Shop, Phoenix –Aussie Disposals.

Reserves: As with each and every game between the 2 sides over recent mes this one proved to be no different with both sides baling hard and couldn't get away over the 4 qtrs with the biggest margin of the day at the 1st break to the Maggies at the first break of 7 points. Was a different looking line up with a few called up and away but the game was there to be taken in the last but just fell short at the final siren to go down by the barest of margins. Best players went to Brad, Truman, Tommy Walker, Cam & Simmo.

Seniors: With both sides having a number of players unavailable but welcoming some back it was going to be a match of who seled into the game and got their running game going early. The Eagles jumped out of the block registering 4 goals to 1 early but for some good work late in the quarter and a goal on the siren from jack Casey kept the maggies in the hunt at the first break. The Maggies seemed to get going in the second, playing some of the best footy we have seen so far this season with the run & carry across the lines and the defence constantly rebounding and forwards making the most of every opportunity to go in at the half up by a point and the game delicately poised. The Maggies took a lile while to get going in the 3rd and like the 1st the Eagles jumped away early and we gradually worked our way back in to the Qtr but found the going tough and down by 4 at the final break. We couldn't match Hatherleigh in the last although scoring 4 of our own and Connor kicking his 5th for the game as the Eagles ended up running away with it and blowing the final margin out. Best players went to Connor, Jack, Tye, Kriegs, Ethan & Dylan. Off on the road to Robe next up in what should provide some quality footy throughout the day and a chance for the Seniors to open their account for 2024.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes seniors

A Grade: Coming up against the reigning premiers we knew it was going to be a tough game. Credit to the boys we came out firing having our best first quarter of the year Second quarter Kalagadoo did out score us by 3 goals pung them up by 1 point at half me. Second half we played our best team footy of the year with everyone on the ground contribung and playing their role to their full potenals. This put some good pressure on by the boys which led to a 52 point win. Some of our best on the day were Brad Mitchell kicking 5 goals and Mikey Telford having a huge influence in our middle and back line. To be fair it was hard to pick a best player on the day with nearly every player, playing their best tough footy. Well done again boys.

B Grade: Well what a great day for football we had over at Kalangadoo. We knew we were up for a big challenge coming up against last year's premiers. It was a great game of B grade football all the way through ll the last bounce. We were good enough to sneak away with a 1 point win. Je Faulkner was all over the ground to be named BOG, Sid had a good game in ruck. Josh Wight found plenty of the ball in the middle. Bollard Rayson had another great game in the middle. Bre Watson gave us plenty of drive out of the middle all day to round out the best.

Senior Colts: We went down to Kalangadoo to have a hit out against a short listed side. Ending up a 14v14 match but everyone involved sll had a great game and had fun which is the most important thing. Best players were hard to pick again but first best coming up from Jnr Colts was Tommy Atkinson, kicking 8 goals! Geng himself the Denton SportsPower award. 2nd best the stumpy award went to Harry Baker playing a great game throughout the wing/middle. 3rd best, the Gino's pizza award went to Fletcher Leopold. Playing ruck throughout most of the game and is really building into a good start to the season. 4th best the Ladies commiee award went to Will Dower, also coming up from Jnr colts showed all day he is already a classy footballer and will be great to watch

in the coming years. 5th best the Pete Walter's award went to Isaac Chambers, another great game down forward and is very excing around the footy. Onto Nangas this week!

Junior Colts: Aer some really strong wins in the first couple weeks the Junior Colts faced their first big test against a solid Kalangadoo team on their home deck. With two prey evenly matched teams, there was a lot more contested footy to be won. The backline was asked to do a bit more work than previous weeks and the momentum shied to Kalangadoo at different mes during the game. Despite this the boys were able to keep their bigger guys under control with some great tackling pressure and then moved the ball forward with speed to give the forwards plenty of chances. Patrick McGrath rucked all day, kept his man quiet and won plenty of footy himself. Tommy Atkinson set up brilliantly across the centre line, he tackled hard and set up lots of drives forward from around stoppages. Will Dower was quick and clean as usual up forward, bagging 5 goals was important. He found another gear in the last quarter aer some gentle feedback from a sideline fan which had an immediate scoreboard effect. Henry Bowering was important early around the ball, with lots of strong tackles but was also very classy with the ball in hand. Tait Gregec was great in different posions, wing, on ball and up forward. He showed plenty of dash and was not afraid to put his body on the line. A really tough win was great to see and it was pleasing to see everyone do their bit. Onto the next home game against the Saints, where we hope to connue to play this way.

Under 11: The kids faced a very strong Kalangadoo last week. With a few away and sick we had to borrow some players for a change. Overall it was a great game with some good passages. The weather was beauful so our skills were excellent. NANGWARRY SAINTS

The sun was shining on our first home game for 2024. Saturday saw us welcome Mount Burr and it was a fairly even down on the ground with 2 wins a piece. It was nice to see our junior colts get their first win, followed by a ght tussle in the senior colts but unfortunately, we were not able to hang on. B grade was the next team to score the 4 points in a close game but it was not the same for our seniors who let the third quarter slip to see Mount Burr kick away

It was nice to see so many hang around for tea and then the ever-popular shuffle night. Congratulaons to Garty who took home the prize money

Just a reminder to please see Ben or Cheryl to pay your membership! Our next funcon will be the Quiz Night stay tuned for details.

This week's sponsor shout out is too Jens and CKK.

Junior Colts: First home game for the year, and the kids didn't disappoint with a good win at home. We were able to play the way we have trained through the preseason. Some great ball movement and lots of good running, linking up by hand and really pung in the work to assist teammates. I want to thank all the kids I asked to go over and assist Mt Burr. It was good for all to get a good run in the legs and a good opportunity for kids to play against each other and learn from it. Our main scoring was a testament to good clean skills and great efforts around the ground. Mason M, Je D and Josh M

bagging mulple goals each was great to watch. Jimmy, Jordan, Blake and Harvey were all fantasc when they went over to help and really challenged their mates which was pleasing as a coach to see.

Senior Colts: Last week we played against a very talented Mt Burr team in one of the beer games of junior footy going around. But unfortunately, aer playing a solid first 3 quarters and with it prey much being goal for goal our guys eventually got over run in the last quarter to lose by 29 points. Beer players for the day were Calais Borman who kicked 2 goals, Bay McKinnon who controlled the middle of the ground, Archer Virtanen and Benne Moy. Joel Crawford also kicked 2 goals and first gamer Bo Sampson who finished with 2 goals too. Aer a tough couple of weeks of footy we are looking forward to see how we go against a strong Hatherleigh team today

B Grade: Was great to get a win at home for the first me this year, was a very tough hard game for the lads and I couldn't be prouder of the boys on how they went about the game and holding on to get the win. Thanks to everyone involved and for the guys who got a lastminute call up.

A Grade: Was nice to be back on our home deck and credit to our groundsman Cooky Dinnison, the oval was magnificently presented. Again we started the game well and played two good quarters of football before heading into the half me break. We transioned the ball well moving forward and made Mt Burr work hard when they had the ball. Aer the break we le it all in the rooms and failed to fire allowing Mount Burr to put the game beyond reach at 3/4 me. It was put to the players to respond and not roll over. To the boy's credit they fought to the end making it a ghtly fought last quarter. Goal kickers were Andy Hyland 2, Joel Virtanen 2 and young Archer Virtanen 1. Best players were big man George McWaters who connues to work relessly all day, Lennox "Ox" Lewis was a bull all day, Joel Virtanen never disappoints with another display of silky smooth skills, Josh Weedon played a fantasc game down back, Ty Dinnison played a tough game taking some telling marks and Isaac Raymond connues to run the game out strongly On another note from one coach to another I would like to congratulate Brayden "Donny" Kelly on his first win as coach with his boys geng over the line in the Reserves. Next week we venture down to Hatherleigh and again we are looking forward to the challenge.

football club notes

Junior Colts: Aer a rocky first half our team came to life and won the second half. It was sparked by Reeds constant effort to get to contests and tenacity around the ball. Young Louie and Archer had their best games combining together for a real display of team football that set up Hunter a set shot. So far our most consistent player has been Moystn who has found his home at full back. It was another terrific performance by him. Thank you for the Nangwarry players who came across and played a great game for us.

Senior Colts: Senior colts were challenged early in the first half before recording a tough win against a very good Nangwarry team. This game could have gone either way but the boys fought it out to the end. This week will be another huge challenge for us against Port Mac where we know we are going to have to bring our A game and play 4 quarters of football to come away with the win.

B Grade: With a few key outs but equally as many big inclusions, we took the field at Nangwarry confident that we would be able to put up a good show. We also had two players celebrate milestone games in Jacon Gregory (100) and Harvey Muhovics (50). The match started well with us controlling the ball and kicking a few goals in the first quarter Unfortunately all that hard work was undone in the second quarter when the Nangwarry midfield and defence got on top of us and they kicked 5 goals for the term. We fought back well and

played a great third term to give us a small lead going into the final quarter. Unfortunately through poor skills and lack of disciple we gave up too many goals in the last and Nangwarry snuck away with a well deserved win. Best players were Brock Sandow, Bailey Poulish, Dan Jankowski, Pete Guye and Noah Telfer.

A Grade: What another ripper day for footy it was to head over to take on a much improved Nangwarry. The first half was an end to end type of game, with both sides applying great pressure. We couldn’t seem to get our style of footy going as well as we would have liked to, so credit to Nangwarry for really being able to lock us down. Some honest discussions and truths at half me got us back on track kicking 7 goals to none in the third. We were able to really open up the game with our foot skills and leg speed. Pleasing to run out winners in the end. Sll lots of improvement in front of us to come if we keep pung in the work on the training track. Hopefully can find a consistent four quarter effort soon. Congratulaons to Dylan Sigston on making your A grade debut. You had some great moments and won some important contests.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 19.22 def Nangwarry 9.4. We welcomed the Saints back to the seaside and the crowd were certainly entertained with a high standard of footy from the Junior sides. Both or our teams won, but it is wonderful to see that aer years of having hardly any juniors, Nangwarry was able to not only fill both sides of juniors but also have a couple on the bench. As we all know, Junior sides are the lifeblood of any club and thankfully we have always had good depth here in the Bay. Our match started as a very even affair with 4 goals apiece in the first quarter, we thought that Nangwarry would be an easy foe and they made us pay for our mistake. Aer a rev up from Coach Woodall at the first break the team changed gear and the game was on. Young gun Luke Richards proved last weeks efforts were no fluke and bagged the BOG with his ability to read the play and be in the right place at the right me to make a difference in every contest of the ball. Alex Ridding was decisive across the forward lines which paid dividends on the scoreboard. Josh Woodall was consistent through the midfield with the help of Colby Munro and Will Macdonald while Tim Sullivan was key in the forward ruck workload and provided a handy target up front. Alex Ridding nudged the leading goalkicker award with 9, followed by Tim Sullivan with 3, Jake Schleter, Colby Munro and Chrisan Howle with 2 each and Nathan Bell with one to round out our tally of 19. The 22 points will need to be addressed as weather condions were favourable and did not factor into any of the contests or kicking ability. 1st qtr 2nd qtr

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 12.19 def Nangwarry 2.2. Oh! It's a good day to be beside the seaside… oh, I do like to live beside the sea! A picnic song for a BBQ/picnic kind of day at the Bay. Hardly any breeze, cool and cloudy with the sun peeking through at the right

moments to warm you up, in other words a great day for footy! The sizeable “Family League” turnout witnessed a great start to the day with both the junior and senior colts winning! The senior colts going down to the wire in a nailbing finish that had us all jumping up and spilling the coffee. With the blanket all spread out, we move from Showdown to Slow Down! (I guess the food coma sets in aer lunch). Nangwarry came out all cheese and biscuits the first quarter and took the boys a lile by surprise, a bit like the cousins you weren't expecng to turn up to the event. The Bay may have dropped the beer in the opening stanza, but the 2nd quarters spray of points certainly gave the S.O.S. (Sheet of Shame) a good massage. Aaron “Spindle” Harding proved most accurate with a handy bag of 3 goals, while Baz O'Dine and Liam “Booms Up” Boomley had 2 apiece and Isaac Narass, Connor Richards, Nathan Munro, Simon Merre and Blair “I want that medal!” Cung all added one each to the tally. Baz “The Iceman” O'Dine who was not only solid in ruck but all over the ground, won the Esky (BOG), Liam Boomley gets the meat tray (2nd) for his pace, winning the hard ball in the forward lines and through the flanks. Jack “I'm Baaack!” Cawthorne wins the 6 pack (3rd) for his steadying efforts from the CHB to the forward pockets. Coming in at every angle crumbing the ball like ants at a picnic, Simon Merre wins the Bickfords Cordial (4th), Tom Sullivan gets the Fruit Box (5th) and Nathan Munro the ice cream (6th). We welcome Jackson Pollard in his first game for the Bay and welcome back Blake “Shake and Bake” Lynch and Simon Merre. We also thank Je “Jetstar” Lewis and Kurs Lasle for filling in the side and giving our “Senior” moments a more youthful energy. So, let's get on the training track before we head to Mount Burr, not only could it improve our fitness… we might just kick a lile straighter! C'mon The Bay!

Corporate Sponsors – Holla Fresh, Iberdrola, Somerset Hotel and Tiger Hotel.

Junior Colts: Last week we ventured to Glencoe to take to the Murphies. The team came out strong and confident taking on what they have been learning at training and implemenng it into the game. Special thanks to the under 11’s who connue to step up and help out when needed with a couple of them kicking their first goals. Best players went to everyone as you all put in 110%. Awards went to Lawson BakerSports power, Kobe Chapple - Shanks Engineering, Zac Chapple - Donut King, Jobe Bell - Wendy’s and Kallan Shawyer - Coaches award.

Senior Colts: Fresh off the bye and facing a really good Glencoe side our boys were keen for the challenge, we knew how we wanted to start but that wasn't the case with Glencoe showing their class early kicking 8 straight in the first quarter to us 0. The boys knew this was gonna be a challenge but it sure woke them up and aer that first quarter our boys started fighng and the backline was holding up keeping them to only 4 goals in the second quarter. The second half was a bit the same with Glencoe running all over us but our team was trying their best and fighng hard which seen us play beer football kicking 2 goals in the second half. Our goal kickers for the game where Braydn Hateley and Ryan Long both with 1. Our best players where Ash Foulds and Eli Bowman who were very strong in our backline and baled hard all day, Braydn Hateley, Sam Simmons and Brayden Rowe who all baed hard in the middle and gave it their all and finally Ryan Long who lead up to the football well all day and helped us link the

football to our forward line. Our boys have a lot to work on for this week when we head back home to take on Kongorong.

Reserves: In the B Grade last week we started really well with some great ball movement and good pressure on Glencoe when they had the ball. As the game went on we started making simple mistakes and we turned the ball over which gave Glencoe more opportunies. The boys baled hard and fought it out but we need to get to training and fix a few things in our game. We had Darcy Hogan lead the way in the forward line with 3 goals. Blake McKee had a great game off half back and was our best player, then Hamish Thomson and May Nelson 2nd and 3rd working hard all game in the middle of the ground. Our 3 senior lads Bundy, Bommer and Marky were in our best players, all helping and guiding your young list on the ground.

A Grade: Last week we went to Glencoe aer the bye looking forward to a great challenge in a much improved Glencoe side. The game was a very even contest with both sides kicking goals and playing to their strengths. We had plenty of opportunies in the 2nd but couldn't kick straight and unfortunately had a very bad 10 minutes where Glencoe kicked away to get a 2 goal lead at half me. We baled hard in the second half and gave our all, but every me we got back with in a kick, unfortunately Glencoe would return the favour and just get back out in front by a couple. Proud of the boys for never dropping their heads and gave effort for 3 and a half solid quarters as it was a very physical game that played to Glencoe's strengths. 100 point loss at Glencoe last year to lose by 3 goals this year is a hell of a effort. Our young guys are starng to come of age which is excing to be a part of. Best players: Jordy Ha who has definitely gone to the next level, Shaughn King, Brydon Klingberg, Braydn Reilly and Hayden Brown.

football club notes

A challenging day across all grades as we took on Robe. Thank you to Bob Sandow, Ross Anderson, Deiter Merchel, Tim Frost along with the Rodger’s & Tilley families for coming along to our Anzac Match. Congratulaons to Robe’s Kaden Woodward for taking home the John Rodger’s Medal, and also Robe’s Sarah Lawrie winning the Mel Tilley Medal, as voted by the umpires.

Under 11: The Under 11’s played a hard fought game of football. They applied pressure on the ball resulng in many turnovers. Their marking and kicking skills connue to improve each week. Awards: Harry Collins (Intersport), Huey Harding (Coaches Award), Nathaniel Elletson (Brant Family), Jack Maidment (Club Award), Judd Buntsma (Donut King) and Iziah Hunt (Presidents Award). Auskick was played at half me and all the kids were determined to touch the ball and kick some goals.

Awards: Archie Telford (Donut King), Hudson Howard (Club Award) and Cade Sandercock (Club Award).

Junior Colts: Beauful day for footy but the game did not go as well as we hoped. It took 3 quarters for the kids to get going - showing us just what they are capable of, but we need to play like that from the start. It's going to be a long year of skill building and teamwork but if the kids start doing the simple things and find the will and passion to play footy, it will all fall into place. I know with more training and game situaons the kids can take that next step and start winning games of footy Let's move on, learn and start geng ready for the next game. A big thanks again to the senior players that trained with the juniors last week - this is great for our up and coming players. You're welcome to join the juniors anyme throughout the season, as this is what our club is all about.

Senior Colts: Aer a compeve effort in round 2 the boys were keen to get back to our home deck and put together four quarters of football and build on the previous weekends work. With some simple focus points for our lines and an overall focus of playing the brand of football we want to play for longer, the lads got to work early and hit the scoreboard within the first few minutes of play. Our mids were consistently given first look at the ball with some fine ruck work and were able to adjust when our opponents began reading our tap work and driving the ball forward. Our backs performed well all day bringing the ball to ground and providing great rebound. We were much more composed with ball in hand and were able to create longer

possession chains, geng the ball further from our opponents goal and giving them less opportunies to send the ball back inside forward 50. Much like the previous week, the game was played in a goal for goal manner and at three quarter me we were faced with a similar challenge of digging deep to run away from our opponent, or being run over the top of. To our boys credit they were up for the challenge and put together some excing scoring chains while keeping Robe to one behind in the final term. Each week has seen us make significant improvements on the last and we look forward to connuing these improvements in the weeks to come. Value Awards went to Jai Hillstone, Ryan Lucas, Ryan Taylor, Toby McKinnon, Harrison Elletson and Mahew Aarts.

B Grade: Another solid effort without geng the points against a very good Robe team. Again our senior colts showed their value, as well as some of the longer term players who somemes don’t get the recognion they deserve. It was a really even team performance, and with 10 minutes to go, we were within 2 goals. Full credit to Robe, for being too strong when it counted. Something we can learn from. Really proud of the way we are playing as a team and pung the side and needs of others first. Andrew Telford, Declan Wright, William Cameron, Michael Waters, Samuel Whitehead and Bohdi Pannenburg won the awards, whilst Sean ‘Camel Kisses’ Maddern took out the team mug award. Not only for his excellent play but for the affecon he showed pre game with his lovely partner. Thanks to the Award Sponsors; Collins Court Butchers, Commercial Hotel, Pick Avenue Deli and the Club.

A Grade: The boys had a really promising start only trailing by 3 goals at half me. We had 3 injuries on the bench, with Robe unfortunately picking up the pace from then. Unfortunately the boys couldn't match it but they're were promising signs throughout the game that things starng to mesh. Hopefully we can make it click against Tant this week and put ourselves in with a chance. NETball club notes

A Grade: Kongorong 44 def by Robe 72. The first win on the board for the Roosters. A Grade's midcourt used great structure & sharp drives to feed into the very accurate goalies; Sarah Laurie & Demi Carter. Defence line had lots of touches and accurate read of the play. Overall the team had control & composure throughout all four quarters. Sarah Laurie came away with a well deserved ANZAC medal and Calcua (Robe Beauty/Naracoorte Sportspower). Coaches award went to Sophie Bates (Holiday Trading Co). Also a huge congratulaons to our coach, Annie on playing her 50th game.

A Reserve: Kong 34 def by Robe 43. The A Reserves had a good win against Kongorong. We started the game with passages of intense play, however built on this throughout the game finding our feet in the second half. Kongorong had a solid defence making it hard for us to find space in the circle. Our defence and midcourt worked hard to get turnovers with Kim Ausn winning the Calcua (Holiday Trading Co) for the game. Looking forward to seeing this team grow throughout the season and show their true colours! Coaches award went to Camille Lehmann (Woodsoak Wines).

B Grade: Kong 37 def by Robe 42. First win woo! Our first quarter was elite! We had control, stood up tall and maintained the game which allowed us to have a strong lead. We've sll got to work on our consistency as a team and to not drop to our opponents level. We had to fight for the rest of the game to gain that win. Smarter not harder. I know we can do it! That first quarter was evident that we can! You've just got to believe it. Sienna took out Calcua (Holiday Trading Co) working hard against physical defenders, coaches award went to Phoebe (Woodsoak Wines) who was speedy but controlled today and allowed our aack to capitalise on her hard work.

B Reserve: Kong 51 def Robe 20. We were a goalie down last week so Cass stepped in to the role. Jess who normally plays GS played well in GA, working well with Cass. Defence worked hard all day and provided many turn overs. Calcua went to Annabelle (Holiday Trading Co) who works relessly each week and has a good eye for the ball. Coaches went to Mahalia (Woodsoak Wines) for her versality starng in GK and ending the game in GS. Thanks also to the Kongorong girls - a lovely team to play

17 & Under: Kong 12 def by Robe 70. The girls came out firing with a first win in their sites! With a couple of key players away everyone knew they'd be mixing up posions and there would be a few different combinaons. Wherever the girls were put they all played exceponally well and did so with a brilliant atude! Our defence line was so strong with Skye and Olivia (best player – Steve's Place) helping us get a good start with heaps of turnovers.

We had Kyah in centre for most of the game, she was consistent and strong down the court! The aack line worked hard and didn't drop once, both goalies shot very accurately with Georgie coming away with incenve (Salubrious Hour). Our focus was lots of talk and the girls definitely started to nail this towards the end of the game!

15 & Under: Kong 44 def Robe 41. We went into the game confident, and it showed in the first half. Scoring off our centre passes effortlessly. Our defence worked together and staying strong all 4 quarters geng a number of turnovers. Mid court are really improving and are finding their place on the court and within the team. Unfortunately, in the 3rd quarter we had a change, Kongorong got a few turnovers which saw the girls drop their heads. Ending the game down by 3, hopefully working on a couple of things we can get the win in the second half. Kaitley had an impressive game in mid court earning her the best player (Steve's Place) for the day and Leni having a standout game in defence earning her coaches award (Salubrious Hour).

13 & Under: Kong 16 def by Robe 29. OMG what a game! Our first win for the season and I'm so proud, I may have even cried. My pre-game pep talk was all about playing our own game, playing like we train on a Thursday night, playing like we're not stressed and it must have worked cause my girls came out firing! Pung into place all of the new and refreshed drills and plays we had gone through during the week. Lex and Zoe stood tall to put pressure on their scoring end, Lacey, Kirby and Olivia worked the mid court effortlessly, working the ball down to our goalie's Livia and Freya who both move around the ring gracefully Truth be told it really was a tricky game to choose best players for, I wish I had an envelope for everyone! Olivia chased lots of loose balls and earned herself best player (Union Café). While Freya, aer geng frustrated with herself last week played an absolute pearler, using our new footwork taccs and taking home my coaches award (Salubrious Hour)! A special menon to Aurla, a first year junior 1 player who had to take the court due to an injury. Aurla did not look out of place out there amongst the ‘big girls’ this young lady is one to look out for in future years, she is going to have an amazing netball career!

Junior 1: Great game from our smallest netballers, using their skills we've been learning to create great passages of play. We stayed prey even for most of the game, creang turnovers and really scking to our players to make it hard for them to transion the ball down court. Coaches went to Lydia (Robe Netball Club) for her aacking skills and geng front, listening to advice and pung it into acon.

Junior 2: No game.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Fantasc effort Mini Magpies, it was great to see some nice ‘monsters’ and lovely passing in aack with some strong shoulder passes. We welcomed Evie for her first game and together with Hannah they worked hard to meet the ball strongly. Heidi and April (Boost Juice) posioned nicely in the goal circle and both shot some beauful goals. Grace (Fasta Pasta) worked extremely hard in defence together with Harper, Piper and Willow to get some nice touches and intercepts in defence. Next me, let’s work on passing the ball to the best opon and looking down the court first. Thank you to our bench players Tully and Phoebe.

Junior 1: Fantasc effort last week girls. All girls pushed really hard to get in front of their players and ulise their big shoulder passes. Each of the girls worked hard to chase the ball when and created great turnovers. The girls worked hard in the goal circle when they had the chance to shoot. Defence and mid court girls created heaps of turnovers and ulised the space down the court well. Thank you to Piper, Harper and Willow for filling in this week. Awards: Olivia (Fasta Pasta) and Zali (OK Pie Shop).

13 & Under: In a very ght first quarter both teams were playing a fast game. We tried hard at the first C pass but all need to go for the second pass and have confidence that it may turn into our favour. More work is required here. Emily pulled out all the stops and played an excellent game at GK to receive DKs hot chocolate award keep up the great work. Ebony got the other DKs hot chocolate award for her connuous shoong at GS. Zara ran hard at C all game received OK Pie Shop. Harper tried hard all game and improving well at WA received Fasta Pasta award. Best player: Zara Cole OK Pie Shop, Harper Griffith Fasta Pasta.

15 & Under: Awards: Boost - Ella Cooper, Melzars - Kiersten Cole. The first quarter was a close contest and it took a lile while for us to sele in, but once we found our rhythm, there was some great passages of play. Despite a sore ankle, Molly was outstanding in defence and she combined well with Zoe to get lots of touches. We welcomed Kiersten back and her passing and vision at WA were great. Ella connued to work hard all game, chasing hard and Ava had another strong performance. Lucy shot the lights out and moved well taking lots of strong balls. A great team effort! Thanks Tildy and Tekani for sing bench.

17 & Under: Against a tough opposion we really stepped up. Our work all the way down the court built the pressure and we were able to capitalise on many great takes by our defence. Ash (Melzars) connues to work overme for our team and

Lily (Aloha) ran hard all game and fed our goalies beaufully. The excing part is we sll have so much to improve on.

B Reserve: Not the ideal score line to resemble the four quarter effort put out there from all players. As usual the goalies combined beaufully, creang lots of space along with the mid court. Ball movement and the use of angles lead to some great passages of play and scoring opportunies. Our defensive duo caused a few headaches, picking off plenty of passes and backing each other up to gain possession. Very pleasing to see the strength we have and we are yet to have a full team. Best players were Maddi and Deb. (Globe and Melzars).

B Grade: We knew this was going to be a tough one and we all went in strong with the first few goals going our way. Our defensive pressure was good and we were able to adapt to some skilled Hatherleigh goalies throughout the second half of the game. Our pressure down the court was rewarded with turnovers. Rhi and Gina combined exceponally well and were able to move the ball with great feeding and movement from our mid courters. Jamie again showed her speed and agility along with her never give up atude. A great start to the season girls. Let’s connue to build on this. Awards: Kirrilae Jade - Gina Gogel, RSLRhianna May

A Reserve: Another fantasc team effort girls. Our aack worked overme all game using our paence to feed Mel and Sam who connue to work well together each week. With a slight change in the defensive end last week, Re and Shanae didn’t miss a beat giving us plenty of opportunies and geng lots of touches. The second half saw a few posional changes which showed how versale we are. Shayden had a great game adapng to any posion she was thrown in. A big well done to Lucy Egan for hing the court and smashing it when we needed fresh legs. It’s really excing having such talented kids at our disposal. Thank you to Ellie for sing bench again last week. Let’s regroup and come out firing this week. Best players: Mel (Gambier City Pharmacy) and Shayden (Birdie Blue).

A Grade: A solid game without the coach at the helm, with all 7 players showing lots of determinaon to come away with the win. The boss showed her experience and smarts to earn the Cafe Melzars award. Jane ran (and ran some more) and made some great feeds to our goalies. Lara sunk some nice goals and took the ball well, proving her versality, and Eb was an ever reliable target. Loz (Globe Hotel) applied plenty of pressure on the wing and the two Georgia’s got lots of touches. Great job Magpies!

Junior 1: An awesome effort Girls. Your footwork and passing since round one has improved greatly. Our pressure and the way we read the ball all over the court created countless turnovers. To our goalies of the week you adapted quickly to your combinaons, shot and moved well. We had some great passages of play and we really started to bring what we have learnt at training to the game. Awards: Violet Fitzgerald - Chemist King & Myla Bowman - Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee.

13 & Under: Another great team game girls. You were all very quiet to begin with but once you found your groove it was awesome to see you all come in to the game bringing plenty of voice and pung in to pracce all you know what to do. It was a ght first half and but you held your own and even their taccal changes to try to slow our strong aack line didn't faze you. The second half saw a strong confidence arise between you all and each player played their part to ensure plenty of turnovers and a comfortable 11 goal lead at 3/4 me. Great moving and accurate shoong from Livvi earned her the Corner Clip award and ght defence and numerous intercepts earned Leyla the HLC award. Big thanks to Kasey for scoring and Deb for primary caring.

15 & Under: We started confidently against Kalangadoo, staying goal for goal for most of the first quarter. Luca and Laura were steady into aack and were using paence and great circle posioning when feeding into the ring. Sylvie and Sienna presented well and used their dodge effecvely to break the defence. We focused on blocking down the court and we were successful in slowing down Kalangadoo's ball movement. Tilly, Olivia and Zoe got their hands to lots of ball and worked hard all game. The game got away from us in the second half. As we began to re, we were let down by our decision making and skill errors. Lots of posives came out of the game and we should be happy with the contest we created. We will keep working on ball movement and improving our vision down the court. Sportspower award: Luca Hamilton, Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee: Laura Uola.

17 & Under: We didn't really rise to the occasion and got ourselves raled by the K'doo pressure. We had plenty of opportunies but wasted far too many There was a lot of posives as well and everyone should feel they did have good patches of play throughout the game. Plenty to work on and plenty of improvement to come. Ducky's award Chloe G, HLC award Amber. Thanks Ange for scoring.

B Reserve: Following a challenging bale for a win last game we knew we had to come out strong. Each week we connue to develop our game and gel as a team which is great to see this early in the season. First quarter seen us come out firing with strong leads and balance of the court. Ellen and Fi worked hard all day in defence and created mulple turnovers which gave our goalies opportunies to score. We came into the second quarter with a six goal lead and Grace Chay was on fire- shoong at 100%. The defensive pressure down the court created many turnovers with the goalies converng with ease. Nic Thomas had a great game at WD, geng her hands to many balls with some great intercepts. At half me we bought Demi into the game who fed well to Melita and Grace. Each game Demi is building her confidence and bringing drive to our aack line. Keely worked relessly all day in the midcourt, she played hard all day and done some great passing into our goalies. We went into the last quarter with

a ten goal lead. Our defence connued to work hard and Nic and Demi did some strong feeding into our goalies who found space and finished of beaufully. Leit and Grace you are starng to find your groove and working well in the circle together Our final score was 42-59. Great team effort. Thank you to Zoe for scoring again, Linda our PC and special thanks to Amber Chester for sing on the bench for us. Nic Thomas- Heaven on a hanger, Ellen Clarke - Ladies commiee.

B Grade: It was a tough game - for the players on the court it was a very physical contest and for the supporters and loved ones on the sidelines it was difficult seeing some of our great players forced off the court with injury. We started a bit slow and flat footed and were taken a bit by surprise with the speed and pressure applied by K'doo. However we soon seled with Georgia providing an opon at the centre pass and Liv geng the scoreboard cking over to claw back the early lead, down by only 2 at quarter me. A few changes going into the second, our defenders in Maddie and Marnie connued to stand strong - geng their hands to plenty, whilst Sarah was also providing strong defensive pressure in the mid court and on the circle edge. Kaz was feeding into the goalies with paence and working hard to stop the drive of her opposion. Sadly she ended up with a corky for her efforts. Going into the main break we were down by 5. Deni Brown came on at C and combined well with Ellie at WA to get the ball into our goalies. Sarah felt her back twinge and came off but aer some quick treatment on the sidelines was needed back on court when Maddie went down with an injury to her ribs. Going into the last we were down by 7. Marnie and Georgia combined strongly in defence - geng hands to any loose passes. Eliza connued to put the shot upforced to shoot long, but doing so with accuracy. A number of taccal changes, as well as changes required due to injury, meant everyone had to be able to quickly adjust and adapt - which they did. The posive self talk and belief in each other was evident throughout as players connued to encourage and support each other. You should all be super proud for never dropping your heads and for giving your all on the court. Whilst we didn't get the win on the board, there were lots of posives to take away from the game. Wishing a speedy recovery to Kaz and Mads. Huge thanks to Deni Brown for stepping up to play, Raels for scoring and Nat for Primary Carer - you certainly were kept busy! A special menon to our amazing volunteers who umpire. We couldn't play the game we love without you, so thank you. Let's make sure we engage in some recovery sessions this week to help our bodies and come out strong at home against Nangwarry. Best players Georgia Gray - Hath Sport & Rec, Marnie Jolly - Heaven on a Hanger and Deni Brown - Alternate Life.

A Reserve: It was a close tussle against Kalangadoo. The girls had a really great team game, we had some really great passages of play with Lucy Corman’s drive down the court, Maddie Redman’s defensive pressure paid off some handy intercepons. Millie Smith’s defensive pressure and intercepts were great to see. Unfortunately aer a close game for the first 3 quarters, we dropped in the last to go down 45-37. The midcourters gave 100% the whole game. Millie and Sarah had some great intercepts. We have a few things we need to work on from the game but other than that, really proud of how to girls played. Thanks Sarah Cav and Ciarne for their help. Best players Lucy Corman and Maddie Redman.

13 & Under: We had a bit of a slow start in the first quarter but adjusted well and pushed Mt Burr the whole game Everyone had some really good passages of play and you all worked really hard All the defenders worked overme and took so many intercepts giving our aackers so many opportunies Somemes though we all need to slow down and look forward first and not just pass to the voice. Aack had to work overme and kept plugging away and got beer and beer with some good finishing off. Was so good to see you all never gave up. Fasta Pasta award - Asha Dinnison, Limestone Coast PantryKeeley. Thanks to Leah and Zoe for

helping us out. Let's keep building on our game for this week

15 & Under: Beauful weather for our first game at home, these young girls come out firing in the first quarter moving well down the court and scoring well, to come off only 4 goals down Some changes made in the 2nd quarter saw a strong defensive unit geng some awesome turnovers, but unfortunately we just couldn't convert. We are sll trying to find our feet on what posions suit us best but a great game with no one dropping their heads. Mt Burr played an amazing game and we're just too strong for us this me around

17 & Under: Last week saw us take on Mount Burr. We work on a lot during our training sessions aer last week and I saw a lot of fantasc passages of play Our aack worked hard all game and saw some unreal goals from Ka, Mads and Kaylee against the very talented defensive end from the Burr. The defensive pressure that came from Scarle and Holly was such a posive showcase of how talented they are Finally our mid court who picked up a lot of loose balls and did what I asked of them. I am looking forward to seeing this group of girls grow and flourish this season. Congratulaons to our best players Kaitlin and Scarle for mammoth effort they put into this game

All 10 players came out with a posive atude and supported each other beaufully Some great defensive work and some amazing work in the mid court. A game as a coach I am so proud of even if we didn't come away with the win. Mt Burr played a strong game and came out on top

B Grade: Another hard game for us. We had some great passages of play but did struggle to convert on the scoreboard Ebony won Heywood award for driving well and always being an opon in the centre. Zoe gained herself Limestone Coast Pantry Award for rebounding strongly and applying pressure when changed to defence. Thank you Nikki, Jessie and Skye for helping do dues your me is greatly appreciated

It was a great game girls, you all played well and the ball moved freely down the court The defence was able to hold their own and had numerous turnovers and were able to allow us to get back in the game Shandeen, Emily and Simone worked relessly in the mid court. I am in awe at how easily Chrystal and Maddie have combined in the circle. You both look like you have been playing together for years

A Grade: What an amazing game girls! The improvement we've witnessed in just one week is truly incredible. Our defensive trio, Kayla, Jemma, and Taysha displayed unwavering determinaon, pung constant pressure on the court throughout the game. Alice and Maddi in the mid-court showed exceponal drive and precision, delivering powerful passes to our goalies. Lacey and Shez, you held your ground admirably, and your hard work definitely paid off. Let's maintain this fantasc momentum, stay commied to our training, and keep pushing upwards! 17 & Under: Great win with many posives. Well done for using skills we have been pracsing at training. Abbey and Sarah combined well in goals winning the Ginos and Ignion Fitness awards. Hands over pressure was beer and helped slow down play. Thanks to Danika for umpiring and Alan for scoring.

B Reserve: Mt Burr 48 Nangwarry 20. A great team game with everyone contribung to our first win. Our ming was much beer, with everyone making space and being available as a second opon. Our posioning is improving every game in all areas of the court. It was great to see some of the things being pracced at training used on a Saturday. Best went to Makayla Gregory & Mia Grant. Thanks to the Somerset, SASSI and Fasta Pasta for our team awards.

B Grade: Aer a tough game last week, we came out to a strong start applying pressure down the court creang many turnovers and allowing our goalies to have me in the circle to put the shots up. 1st quarter we almost managed to keep Nangwarry scoreless with a lead of 20 going into the 2nd quarter we focused on our drives and passes and increased our lead allowing us to bring Tilley on to support in girls in goals. Lets take this win and build on it for the season, we had some great passage of plays and every one deserved an award. A Grade: Aer a tough game last round we knew we had to respond. The girls came out firing with a point to prove. Our defensive intensity the whole way down the court created many turnovers, allowing us to gain many opportunies to score. We trialled another new combinaon in the aack line while Ashlee & Chloe were away. I'm really proud of how the girls adjust and to any posion they are given. Overall, we came away with a 41 goal win. Vouchers went to Laura (Zambreros), Danika (Somerset) and Abbey (Ignion Fitness). Thank you Leah for umpiring and Allan for scoring.

Junior 2: Our young team shined brightly on the weekend both on and off the court. Displaying incredible teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm, each player showed great improvement and dedicaon. Congratulaons to Ellie Day for her outstanding performance in C and GK taking away one of the best player awards (donated from Subway), and to Chelsea Grosvenor for her remarkable progress in her skills and confidence who walked away with the other best play award (donated by Boost Juice). Again, a big thanks to all the parents who came out and supported the girls on Saturday and thank you to Milah Staples and Emilee Johnson from Junior 1s for filling in. We are very excited to see how the girls go in 2 weeks' me against Mount Burr

Junior 1: Good game girls! It's good to see you all making leads, finding space in the court and trying to get front posion. We need to keep using our voices and make sure we are running on to the ball. Best players receiving the Subway and Boost Juice vouchers, were Milah for her determinaon to get the ball, and Brianna, as she has been working hard at training and put everything into pracce during the game.

13 & Under: Port MacDonnell 16 defeated by Nangwarry 34. Perfect weather condions, Nangwarry had height in the defence pung our shooters off a bit, which helped them to find their confidence! The girls had plenty of great passages of play when they played their own game. Peyton played exceponally well making an impact and geng lots of ps. We are sll working at becoming a team and trusng and backing up each other! Awards: Peyton Bowd (Boost), Torah Staples (Donut King).

15 & Under: Port MacDonnell 70 defeated Nangwarry 21. Another fantasc win against Nangwarry. Our girls played 4 consistent quarters by seng goals and achieving them. You all should be very proud of how well you played. It's great to see you all gelling as a team and trying out new posions, that a lot of you haven't played before. It's sll a lile bit quiet on the court but we're geng there, and it's something we have to work on. Awards went to Ivy Wilson (Donut King), who shot exceponally well yesterday, and to Isla Fulham (Wendy's) who ran her heart out in centre.

17 & Under: Port MacDonnell 75 defeated Nangwarry 12. Another sunny day in Port MacDonnell for Round 2 against Nangwarry. The girls had a great week of training, working through some issues that arose from our Round 1 clash against Kalangadoo. We started strong with some excellent defensive stops from Jas Morgan geng out at the C pass and Alicetyn Stanley denying anything that came too close to her goal circle. A quarter me change saw Chloe Day in goals with her sister Lilly, both working wonderfully together to create space and opportunity. Lillie

Lamb also combined well with Chloe in goals, converng on hard earned defensive stops. Sophie Lewis was calm and controlled through the centre, leading her team well and providing a link in transion. Bree Ridding earned herself one of the team's best players this week for her persistent and impressive efforts in defence, providing excellent drive into our aack line also. Bella McLean was our other best for her impeccably med leads, accurate feeding into the goal circle and listening to coaching instrucon to beer her game. A strong effort by our girls saw us walk away with a win leading into the bye week. Awards: Bree Ridding: (Subway), Bella McLean: (Donut King).

B Reserve: Port MacDonnell 87 defeated Nangwarry 6. Our passage of play is good down court and into the circle. There are sll a few things to work on and iron out, but we are working together. Thank you to our sponsors, Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro and Lima & Co, which were well received by Ainsley Mann and Paige Cawthorne.

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 49 defeated Nangwarry 16. Well done girls, a great game. Jess and Kelly shot great all game and we had some good movement and touches from Jess at WA. Chloe worked hard and drove well down the court. Defence from Kenz, Ash, and Tanna, allowed us to keep Nangwarry to minimal goals. Good talking and backing up to each other. Best: Ashlee Schwereger (The Bay Pizzaria), Chloe Newton (Lima and Co).

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 69 defeated Nangwarry 24. Our movement and passages of play down the court were controlled and flowed well. It's great that we are starng to find our feet. We were able to reward the defence for their efforts as they adjusted to a new line up and were able to create turnovers. Let's keep building on this moving throughout the season. Wishing our girls who are sidelined at the moment speedy recoveries. Best: Brooke (The Bay Pizzaria), Michelle (Lima and Co).

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 50 defeated Nangwarry 4. We went out with the goal to play four consistent quarters and that's what we did, it may have not been our best four quarters but they were consistent. I felt our game was very flat and not much on-court talk or encouragement from anyone, which was really disappoinng. We had some awesome passages of play from defence into our aack and our defensive pressure all over court was great, we had a lot of posives to take away from the game and also a lot to work on. Let's go back basics and having fun, enjoy being out on court and REALLY encourage each other and get that talk up. Best: Alysha Coon SPONSORED BY Australian Coastal Shipping (Voucher – Lima and Co), Emily Thompson SPONSORED BY Lima and Co (Voucher – The Bay Pizzaria).

Junior 2: Aer bringing in a bit of a different warm up last week, you all "pumped it up"! Every one of you gave it your all and never backed down. We are going to come against some tough teams, which will only improve our game and make us beer players! You all did what I asked of you and demonstrated you could shine in any posion. I love you all being such universal players! Great game girls. Awards: McDonaldsSarah Dunford, Wendy's - Millie Grant.

Junior 1: A cold morning at Glencoe last week, but what a great team game the girls played. A few passages of play were very cluered, but majority of the me the girls remembered what we have been working on & spread out & made space. Excellent shoong by everyone who played in the goal ring. Our awards went to Izzy (Fasta Pasta), only her second game of netball ever & I lost count of the number of turnovers she made. Amazing effort. Our other award went to Shelbi (Shanks Engineering). No maer what posion she is in she plays with 110% effort & extreme determinaon. Well done.

13 & Under: We started a bit slow last week & it took ll 2nd quarter to sele but already Glencoe had a 14 goal lead by half me. To our credit in the third quarter we kept this margin but in the last went down by another 6 goals. We did have some really good moments throughout the game but unfortunately with the sun shining, majority ran out of puff to keep going for the full 4 quarters. Jaycie had a great game again in defence & put in 100% all 4 quarters. Kailee moved & shot well in goals earning her a McDonalds Award & Pippa was an opon to her team all game with her great dodges earning her the Fasta Pasta Award.

15 & Under: Very proud of our teamto be within just 2 goals at halime against a top team is a mighty effort! Alice led the way to be our best. Rachael (Dentons Sports Award) played 4 consistent quarters, Peyton (Tant meal voucher) followed instrucons to play a smart game at WA, while Tamika (Devine Gis Award) led out strongly and created space for Alice. Summah showed much improvement in her footwork and Alexis was impressive with her “have a go” atude. Special menon to Malda and Astyn who not only played well in their “normal” posions but shared the centre role with lile preparaon in Lani's absence - well done!

17 & Under: A slow first quarter saw us playing catch up netball for the rest of the game against a solid side. Isla's work rate was amazing in the defensive circle and worked well to create intercepts. Molly (Millicent Sportspower) combined well in defence and got her hands to balls down court. Kaitlyn (Somerset) worked hard to shut her players drive off and was an asset driving down court. Demi, Kailah and Hailey all fed well into our goalies. Poppy and Bethan worked with in the aack line,

ulising their angles well. With lots of posional changes, all the girls done amazing to bring it back to a closer margin in the last quarter

B Reserve: So much easier for coaches to make substuons and all players get good court me when the whole team plays well. Just makes it difficult for us picking awards and best players! Sally (Somerset Award) had a ripper game, Capt Kath connues to steady the ship with great posioning and passes while good running from Leah helped smooth transion down court. Our defence connues to restrict the opposion and it will only get beer! Riley claimed the Gino's Award, just ahead of Lauren, while Layla got Devine Gis (coaches' award) for her disciplined work at WD

B Grade: Our netball game against Glencoe on Saturday was a bit of a nail-biter, but I couldn't be happier with how the team performed. Despite having a few players out, everyone stepped up and played their hearts out. Our main goal for the game was to stay posive, support each other, and execute our roles effecvely, and I'm proud to say that's exactly what we did. Special effort to Tarrah for stepping into the GA posion for the first me in a while and doing a fantasc job. Well done, girls! So happy with how our team is looking and can't wait to see how far we can go.

A Reserve: In perfect weather condions the Tigers headed to Glencoe. Lining up against the Murphies that have played together for a few season so we knew it was going to be a hard task. The game didn't start out well turning over the first centre pass. A lot of the Tigers own mistakes giving Glencoe numerous scoring opportunies. A few changes being made saw a slight improvement in the Tigers but Glencoe being a well oiled team connued to stem ahead. It was the Tigers own mistakes and missed goals that lead to the score line connuing to grow. There were some posives to take out of the game, but a lot to work on for the season. Best. Dakota Hateley - McCourts Garden Centre and Lucy Barber - Gino's Pizza.

A Grade: Disappoinng to let this get away from us in the final part of the last quarter when we remained within striking distance for the majority of the game. We remained extremely paent and controlled throughout the game, however need to be able to create some extra pressure and turnovers. Something that we will connue to work on in the coming weeks. Our passes and control in the aacking third, parcularly around the ring was the highlight of the game for me. Great passes from Kate Varcoe (Heaven on a Hanger) along with Casey and Jami we were paent and used our angles and were prepared to reset when required. Great game from Emma (Fiy Six) with good movement, holding and strong possession of the ball which was finished off with excellent shoong.

We would like to thank our Game Day sponsors for their support. Round 3 sponsors are Glentanner Angus and Contracng. Salt Café and Bar and Kaboom Entertainment.

Junior 1: An amazing game from the girls, we had Maya and Leni come up from junior 2 for their first game up for the season, well done girls. Everyone put in an amazing effort with no bench, defence were keeping the goals out and with the midcourt taking the ball down to the goals where the girls scored. Best players were awarded to Maya – Badenochs and Alyssa – Club voucher

13 & Under: Bad luck girls. Definitely a winnable game that we dropped due to some really silly errors and not looking aer the ball. Although it is disappoinng there are sll plenty of posives to take out of the game. The defensive pressure all across the court was phenomenal, with every player on the court able to turn over ball and apply tough pressure to keep us in the game. Our small footwork errors improved significantly also which is what we have been working on, now we just need to e our game together with some strong ball work. Best on went to Sophie Milich (Club Voucher) and Ashleigh Elletson (Maccas) both for fantasc defensive pressure across the game.

15 & Under: Well, what a tough game that was. Coming up against a well put together team. We knew it was going to be hard from the start and it was. We really needed to work together to have turnovers and gain from them. It took us a while to get our groove, but we eventually got there. A few changes throughout the game saw us get ahead and keep enough of a distance to get the win. I am proud of all of you for digging in deep when it was needed. Best players were Abby Brant – club voucher, Paige Telford $10, Holly Awill $5.

17 & Under: What a game! So proud the amount of improvement I saw was amazing! Welcome Sophie to the team who brought another type of rotaons to work with. Couple of tweaks to make at training but all in all a really great game! Best players go to our defence for there touches! Eadie Mustart – Arena and Hayley McInness – Lima and Co.

B Reserve: Another fabulous performance from every single player. Unfortunately we lost Hayley to injury and even had a go at the green whistle which provided some entertainment for

every one. Our team work and talking was so awesome and I feel got us the result we had. Best players were Robyn Hill (voucher Lima and Co) and Becky D (voucher the spring collecve). Looking forward to this week.

B Grade: What a great effort team. Everyone fought hard and it was a brilliant game of netball to play We are starng to gel and sele into our posions now and it makes me so excited for what’s to come for our team. Not one person gave up, everyone put their body in front and fought for the ball. Great effort by the defence girls Courtney and Maddie who had hands on everything making it tough for the goalies to get it in. Biz and Miranda who ran out the game and never gave up providing pressure down the court. Milla for voice and direcon in WA which gave us goalies a clearer vision of what we needed to do. Sammy for backing herself and having confidence in her shots and posioning well under the ring, and giving myself some awesome passes into the circle helping us put a good score on the board. Proud of you all, lets keep it up, keep fighng, we are geng there! Best players: Miranda Skinner - Commercial Hotel, Brielle Winterfield - Elite Supps.

A Reserve: A fantasc effort from all on court! We had a neck-toneck game by half me. Aack & defence working in sync to put shots away, score turnovers and transion through the court. In the end Robe exceeded. Best players go to Courtney Sealey for her fantasc movement in the circle (receiving Lima & Co voucher) & Samantha Ham for her consistent mid court work and circle feeding (receiving The Commercial Hotel voucher).

A Grade: Great effort girls. We had posives and negaves in that game but pushed out the majority of the game well. We took me with the ball and kept possession well but need to make sure we are taking our me and looking aer each other as we fague. We will look to this week to push out 4 full quarters and have some success. Best on went to Zara VonStanke (Elite Supps) for applying what we had pracced and aacking strong at the ball and Rach Perry (The Commercial Hotel) for pushing through four relentless quarters in defence.

ANZAC Day Mel Tilley Medal awarded to Sarah Laurie, Captain Demi Carter accepted the medal on behalf of Sarah.

round 3 a grade match reports

Nangwarry vs Mount Burr

As the first whistle blew to start this game, both teams came out firing, showing that they both had something to prove. It was Mt Burr though that were the first to score. Danika Shepherd blitzing in the goal circle, finding her range and scoring an impressive 14 of Mt Burr's 16 goals throughout the first quarter. While down the other end of the court, Megan Thiele was a huge impact for the mozzies at GK, picking off passes and her amazing pressure made Nangwarry's goalies work overme. Nangwarry's GK and captain, Kayla Gray, used her height and strength to pull in needed rebounds and geng her hands to as many balls as possible. Nangwarry were kept to 4 goals at the end of the first quarter. No changes were made at the first break.

Once again, the second quarter was an impressive 15 minutes from young gun Danika Shepherd at GA, this me shoong 16 goals, only missing 1 for the quarter. Nangwarry improved with their defensive work all the way down the court, with Taysha Marshall at WD, adding more pressure and making the Mt Burr aack line work harder to get the ball into their circle. Although Nangwarry's defence all the way down the court had improved, the Mozzies made it hard for them to get the ball down the court, picking off passes and making the most of any mistakes the young Nangwarry side made. The joint effort of Mt Burr's centre court, Ella Easterby and captain Laura Schultz, helped the Mozzies score 22 for the quarter, while Nangwarry were kept to 4 again for the second term, all coming from newcomer Sheridan Sakkers. No changes were made at half me.

The third quarter was a huge improvement for the young Saints side, with both shooters, Sheridan Sakkers and Lacey Neale, finding their range and scoring 4 each for the quarter, even with the Mozzies GK Megan Thiele making an impact with mely intercepts and her defensive pressure. The duo of saints C Alice Circelli and WA Maddi Stephens brought strength and beauful passages of play down the court and into their goal circle. Kayla Gray and young Jemma Glynn brought extra pressure down their defensive end, this me cung back the Mozzies scoring opportunies and keeping them to just 13 for the quarter. The third quarter showed amazing abilies and determinaon from both sides, with Olivia Dean in at GD for the Burr helping her team with her pace and strength down the court. No changes were made at the final break.

The fourth quarter was an amazing bale from both sides. WD for the Mozzies, Abbey Falng had amazing pressure, making the saints work hard. But GS for the saints, Lacey Neale worked overme in the circle, using her height and strength to score another 4 out of the 6 for the quarter. Nangwarry's defence once again had great strength and pressure all the way down the court, keeping the mozzies to a score of only 9 for the last term. The Mozzies ulised the taccal changes in the last quarter, moving their goalies around and bringing on fresh legs in WD with Macy Burns. Final score for the game 19-60, Mt Burr taking the win.

Best players for Nangwarry were Lacey Neale and Alice Circelli. Best players for Mt Burr were Danika Shepherd and Olivia Dean.
