MID SOUTH EAST FOOTBALL LEAGUE MAJOR SPONSOR

VIEW FROM THE HILL Near perfect condi ons greeted players and spectators across the grounds this week. With the sun out and li le to no wind to influence games we were treated to four great games across our League. Down at Hatherleigh the ba le of the birds saw the home side get the chocolates but not without a determined effort by Kongorong. The game opened up with good free flowing football by both teams, with both the Eagle and Hawk midfielders ge ng plenty of the ball and making the most of every possession. Their delivery to their forwards in Wight – the Jake variety for the home side and Kongorong's Cam Sandercock was justly rewarded, both kicking 10 and 7 goals for the match respec vely. Less than a couple of goals separated the teams at the long break and Kongorong came into the third quarter with a high degree of purpose to take the game right up to their more fancied rivals. Scores drew level in the third quarter, but that's where it all ended for the Hawks as Hatherleigh steadied and kicked away, scoring the last 13 goals of the match. Hatherleigh had ball winners right across the ground none be er than Jake Wight finishing the day with another bag of 10 goals. Penola recruit Jordan Galpin chipped in for 3 goals whilst also picking up 2nd best. Overall Hatherleigh had 8 individual goal kickers, with other be er players named being Darcy Bateman, Jack Sullivan, Brad Wight and Zach Jones. For Kongorong it is a bi er sweet pill to swallow, knowing that the game was there for the taking, but couldn't quite go with Hatherleigh at the business end of the game. They will take a lot from the match and no doubt will con nue to improve during the year. Apart from Sandercock's 7 goals, Don Pochec-Gordon con nued his good form around the goals with 3. Be er players for Kongorong went the way of Sco Fleming, Ma Weistra – who hasn't been out the best yet, Cam Sandercock, Don Pochec-Gordon and Brad Cordy. The match of the day between Mt Burr and Port MacDonnell turned into a real armwrestle with the biggest margin of the day being 17pts. In the first quarter it really was a ba le of defences with neither team able to apply that all important scoreboard pressure. Port MacDonnell kicked a wayward 1-6 to Mt Burr's 2-2 to trail by 2pts at the first break. The big men for Port MacDonnell started to dominate the second quarter, and if not for the hard work of James Wallis and returning one-game recruit Chris Puia the margin at half me could've been a lot worse than 17pts in arrears. The all-important third quarter was a very even affair, but a number of missed shots on goal for the Mozzies may have been their undoing with Mt Burr s ll trailing by a goal leading into the final quarter. Tempers flared in the final quarter but the umpires controlled the game well and when the final siren sounded it was Port MacDonnell ahead on the scoreboard to the tune of 6pts.

Overall a high standard of footy was played by both sides which saw the lead change a number of mes throughout the a ernoon. Port MacDonnell was able to gradually obtain the upper hand on a great game. Goal kickers for both sides were spread evenly with the only mul ple goal kickers being Jack Gregory 3 and Bradley Sco 2 for the home side. Whilst for Port MacDonnell Dylan Bromley, Tim Sullivan, Kevin Thomson and Daron McElroy all finished the a ernoon with 2 goals apiece. Be er players for the Bay were once again Daron McElroy who con nues to dominate the ruck and around the ground, Ben McGregor and Tim Sullivan. Whilst for the home side the three Wallis amigos stood tall as did Chris Puia . Over at Tantanoola the Kalangadoo Magpies were visi ng and they went home all chipper a er a hard fought but comprehensive 88pt win. From my eyes in the sky, Tantanoola ba led hard all day and were compe ve even though this wasn't reflected on the score board. With five senior colts in their star ng 21, these young lads are going to be all the be er for the experience and their footy will come along in leaps and bounds once their ages catch up to their ability. Kalangadoo however, were just too polished when it counted and had a number of combined scoring passages at the right me to assert their dominance over a very youthful Tigers ou it. As for Kalangadoo they were very methodical and consistent for the en re match with Lachy Jones having a day out picking up first best and kicking 5 goals. Michael Krieger has been a model of consistency around the goals this year kicking 5 through the big s cks. The only other mul ple goal scorers for the victors were Jus n Bromley with 3 and Tom Searle with 2. Apart from Jones, other be er players for Kdoo were Ben Gregory, Mitch Lowe, Jon Mules, Michael Krieger and Jus n Bromley. For the Tigers Cam Saint was their only mul ple goal scorer with 2. Whilst their be er players were a li le harder to find, but eventually went the way of Jack Dawe, Roy Osborne, Jordan Ha , Brandon Pi s and Cam Saint. Over at Nangwarry in perfect condi ons for football the game against Glencoe opened up with plenty of pressure from both sides. Nangwarry are definitely playing an improved brand of footy, but lack the control that comes from experience and ge ng to know the strengths and weaknesses of the team and team mates. While Glencoe were kicking and handballing to advantage enabling their running game to come to the fore, Nangwarry were more content on a game of possession. In the second quarter Glencoe stepped it up a notch with Nangwarry finding it difficult to penetrate the half-back line. Nangwarry's shining light in George McWaters dominated the centre ruck contests all day, but Glencoe were equal to the task with some good defensive a ack on the ball to gain a lot of the centre

clearances. The Murphies took every opportunity to look inboard and run the ball through the corridor hi ng up their forwards with pin-point accuracy. The scoreboard was no indica on of the match overall, as Nangwarry ba led hard right to the end, their inexperience and inability to win the ball their downfall on the day. For Nangwarry coach Luke Thomson finished the day with 2 goals. No surprise to see George McWaters gain best on ground for the Saints as he clearly dominated the ruck all day. Jake McKeon, Brodie Arundell, Isaac Raymond, young Bailey Lindner and Dan Chris an rounded out the home sides be er players. For Glencoe Mick McRae finished the day with 10, Alex 'Sauce' Hentschke finally found his goal kicking boots with 7 and Dylan Childs chipped in with 4. Be er players named for the visitors went the way of Childs, McRae, Zacc Cocks, Tom Edwards, Sam Giersch and Ben Hentschke. To today's round 5 games, and at the half way point of the first round – me flies when you're having fun!! Match of the day status is a toss of the coin between Glencoe and Hatherleigh or Kongorong and Robe. However, I don't think neither home side will get the win, it'll only be the margins that might surprise. Glencoe will be without their favourite son in Zacc Cocks for a while I would think a er going off the ground mid way through the last quarter against Nangwarry with a knee injury. Let's hope that it is not a season ending injury as this won't do the Murphies chances of making the top four any good whatsoever. Hatherleigh are a wellbalanced, well coached side and their ability to score consistently will certainly test the Glencoe defenders. For Glencoe to have any chance of ge ng close to the Eagles this week they need to deny them the football in the first place. But I can't see this happening and the overall depth of Hatherleigh will get them over the line. Kongorong host Robe in what many see as a danger game for the Roosters. Kongorong are slowly building momentum and Robe seem to be a different side away from the seaside. The Hawks were able to match Hatherleigh for 2 ½ quarters last week, their challenge today is to be in the game for the en re 4 quarters. Robe have a tough month of footy ahead of them and they will want to make sure that they con nue their winning streak for as long as possible. In the other two matches, Kalangadoo are at home to Nangwarry and Tantanoola travel to Port MacDonnell. Both home sides one would expect will be too strong, too quick and have too many match winners across the ground. The challenge for both visi ng sides is when they do get the footy, they make the most of their opportuni es. Success can some mes breed complacency and if either Kalangadoo or Port MacDonnell come into their matches with this mindset, then they are going to have to play catch up footy for the rest of the a ernoon.

kalangadoo nangwarry

Round 4 saw us head to Tantanoola, with Kalangadoo coming away with 2 senior wins. Perfect weather condi ons along with a well groomed oval made for free flowing football across all 4 games. Under 11: Again we had strong numbers in the under 11s. From all reports it was the best the kids have played all season, they played and a acking style of footy and it was great to see. Under 11s/Auskick will again be played the weekend at home, with Under 11s kicking off at 9 and Auskick at half me of the A Grade. It is ge ng bigger and be er week by week! Keep up the hard work Tys and Boxy! Junior Colts: We came up against a much bigger team last week. Our kids were very under sized, however that didn't stop their endeavour, hard work and enjoyment towards the game. It's important we con nue to grow as a young group and listen to coach Searlo. The improvement has come at a fast rate. Joe Box walked off with B.O.G. honours with a huge effort on the ball all game! He also did boundary for the Reserves and Seniors! Senior Colts: The improvement in this group both as players on the field and young men off the field has been a delight to see over the past year and a half! We have got a really good group of kids together. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan against Tant. But like the juniors, with sustained hardwork and dedica on the development will shine through in years to come when they are playing senior football! Connor Gen le was awarded best player. Keep working hard boys, the results

will come! Reserves: The Bazzas were truly tested last week against a gallant Tant. With a hand full of players not available we were forced to grind out the game. Wade Dowdell came in for his game in almost 10 years and was awarded 3rd best! Old Man Galps wound back the clock and dominated from the 1st bounce. He even chipped in with 2 goals and B.O.G. honours. We eventually ran out victors by 30 points. Seniors: The score probably doesn't reflect the game accurately, Kalangadoo won by 86 points but were forced to work and grind it out all day. Tant made a point conges ng the game up. Weaponhead kicked 5 as a rover and ran rampant all day! It's great to have you back on board Lachy! Watch out for number 12 and his lethal le foot next me you're out! Benny Greg's again played as a mismatch wingman finding plenty of the ball, along with providing plenty of drive forward for us. Once again our team defence and back 6 stood tall. For the second week in a row the opposi on were held to 1 goal a er quarter me! This week sees us host close neighbours Nangas! Our round 5 clash holds a lot of significance for the club, as the legends from 2001 come back and celebrate their 20 year reunion. Coming from far and wide, Redhead Durbs is home from Cairns and the G.O.A.T. is home from Perth! Well done to P.C. and Benny for all your hard work organising the reunion. Here's hoping the boys can put on a show for you all and come away with 4 wins! Go Maggies!

Perfect condi ons for a game of football last Saturday at home. We almost had a win, Junior Colts put on quite a show and it was a great game of football to watch, and the coaches and players should be proud of themselves. I also wish to thank the Junior Colt players who step up each week and play Senior Colts against some mes kids quite bigger than they are, and if you were lucky to watch the game it was fabulous to see a number of passages of play that were on point were between the Junior Colt lads, keep up the great work kids and it will help be er your game. The B Grade boys have struggled the last few weeks to find numbers, so it was good to hear they started the game with 20 on Saturday, well done to some of the guys who I am sure I have heard say numerous mes they are re red. Luke T’s boys are working hard each week and we are star ng to see the results, there are s ll areas of improvement, but they are scoring goals and pu ng up a fight. There are quite a few jobs on home games so if you can spare 30 to 60 minutes let Tamara know and we will line you up with a job. Congratula ons to Hayley on winning the reverse song last game and thanks to Mandy for catering. Under 11: Real impressed with the kids’ performance on the weekend, plenty of goals kicked so real good team passages of play as well. A er ge ng off to a good start and controlling the game it was good to see our kids being composed with the footy and lowering the eyes up forward to hit targets and share it around. Junior Colts: In round 4 we hosted Glencoe hoping to get our first win on the board and boy were we ever so close! It was a ght contest early, but we struggled to get reward on the scoreboard. We got going in the 2nd and managed to get a couple on the board. In the 3rd we put the foot down early and pushed out to a 2-goal lead, but Glencoe had a good patch late and the scores were level going into the last. We held a 1 point lead late and were defending at all costs when a free kick was awarded in front of goals for Glencoe which they converted to put them up by 5 points with not a lot of me le and that is how the game finished. The disappointment in the group was evident a er the siren but the coaching group and supporters could not be prouder of the effort. Hold you heads up boys, you all gave 100% and that win will come soon enough. Goal kickers were Archer with 3, Riely and Jordan Dinnison. Best players were Archer, Josh, Benne , Noah, Taj and Calais. Senior Colts: First things first, if this

league is truly “The Family League” it's about me the league and it's clubs started ac ng accordingly! If one side has 14 players and another 19 it would be common sense to give 2 players to the opposi on and have 16 v 16 with the opposi on having 1 on the bench! But apparently not. So, I'd like to commend both Hatherleigh and Robe Football Clubs on not only your common sense approaches but also when handing over players to opponents they are actually quality players! There is such a thing as being humble in winning! Now to our game, it was definitely a tale of two halves. Probably the less said about the first half, the be er. The second half, now that is something en rely different! While we were s ll outscored the effort, commitment and using each other with quality ball movement. That was pure magic and joy to see, and you could see by the players themselves how much more enjoyable it was for them to be a part of. Let's hope we see a lot more of that for the remainder of the season. Also, I need to commend our Junior Colt players who are improving each week and by the Junior Colt game displayed are using it to improve their own team! Well done boys. Best players were Archer Virtanen, Jye Whitehouse, Ty Dinnison, Peter Davis, Bailey Lindner (more of that 2nd half please!) and Calais (the goose step) Bormann. B Grade: With a full team for the first me this year the boys were op mis c of a more compe ve game. The first quarter saw the Murphies jump out to a sizeable lead at quarter me, but to the Saints’ effort we kept with them for the next two quarters thanks largely to Dylan Barlow and Jack Pudney who played there first game for the club. In the last we ran out of gas and the Glencoe boys ran away with it in the end. Be er players other than the two men oned were Marcus Thomson down back, the general Craig Hicks, the ever-reliable Vesa Virtanen and Josh Mills who is improving every game. A lot of posi ve signs with 7 goals scored and hopefully we can turn that into another be er performance against Kalangadoo. A Grade: Round 4 v Glencoe didn't go our way, we were looking to build on from last week but unfortunately, we come out of the blocks fast kicking 1 goal 2 in the opening minutes but it was all Glencoe from there. We put in our worst half of football for the year but in our second half there were plenty of posi ves! We hit the scoreboard well again with a few shots on goal dropping short or going out on the full. We will look to start fast this week against a very good Kalangadoo team. Cheers LT.

The trip over to Nangwarry was a successful one for the football club last Saturday, securing 4 out of 4 wins for the day. With the shorts and thongs out in abundance due to the cracking weather, there was no excuse for sloppy skills in any of the grades. Junior Colts: The Junior Colts once again got the day underway with a cracking game of footy. Both teams showed early on that they were up for the challenge with the footy reaching both ends of the ground but neither team fully able to capitalize on the scoreboard. The li le Murphies got out to a small early lead, but this was chipped away at over the course of the game by the determined Saints side. The Nangwarry side was rewarded for their persistence and determina on by pulling ahead late in the game. But, like the Senior Colts from a few weeks ago, the minis were able to pull ahead by a single score with barely any me le on the clock. Based on the relentless schoolyard (and classroom) cha er of the previous week, this was a game that the young Murphies were expec ng to win, so they will feel very fortunate to sneak away with this one. Hopefully the week following this win will be more subdued within the school environment. Kaleb Price was important once again with 2 goals, which also earned him 4th best, but no sign of Kallan this week giving 'Dropsy' bragging rights within the household. Hamish Gordon's and Sam Haase's appearances in the best players are more regular than someone on a high fibre diet, and if you're keeping tennis scores at home, it's 4 all between these two. Marcus McGrath showed flashes of excellence to feature at 5th best, but best on ground for the day belonged to Lachlan Brierly, building on his efforts from last week to lead the team to what was looking like an improbable victory. Senior Colts: A er the disappointment of the previous week, the Senior Colts bounced back with a solid victory over a Nangwarry side that was unfortunately struggling for numbers. There were some brilliant passages of play by the lads throughout the day, showing run, good link-up through the middle and good finishing in front of goal, but also moments where they lost a bit of structure within the game. With some very good performances so far in the year, if the team can pull it all together, work as a fluid, calm unit and finish well in front of goal, they have a lot of poten al to go deep into September. Maybe Boof could pull out some of his old game footage to show the lads how to control their aggression and always play with a cool, calm head. Does anyone have an old VHS player? For the second week running, Guillaume Ros-Smith was awarded first best honours. On a hard track, he certainly caught the eye with his speed and dash all over the ground, regularly finishing off his hard work with a well delivered kick to the forwards. Ben Weedon con nued his strong start to the season showing pace around the ground and always being willing to put his body on the line whether it be hun ng the footy or laying a strong tackle. Mark Arthurson popped up for third best, once again displaying determina on and tenacity in all aspects of the game, while Digby Richards-Fennell played well to slot in at fourth best. Boof was pleased with Mitchell Li le's improvement as well, giving him the nod to snag the final best player award. Reserves: With a couple of wins on the trot, posi vity and excitement was high with the opportunity to increase the tally in the 'wins' column. This paled in comparison however to the excitement of the first sigh ng of the rare 'Eggus-Headus' for the season, spo ed

lingering near the changerooms. Unfortunately, this fine specimen didn't wander out onto the field this day, but hopefully with the promise of a regular diet of Great Northern's a er the game, we will see him make his way onto the green pasture. Coach Whi a would've been pleased with the eventual 70 point win, but it was clear that there is s ll a ways to go in terms of the team working as one, and 'gelling' together with the addi on of so many new players this year. With regular trainings, and staying posi ve, it'll come together. First best for the day was an easy one with Taz McGrath picking up possessions at will, and then displaying good burst and toughness to regularly send the ball into the a acking 50. Easter picked up second best for another consistent game working through the midfield and up forward, while Cuz con nued to be a strong focal point up forward kicking a handful of goals, and was also witnessed dishing out a handball in front of goal, promp ng a concern he may have been suffering from a concussion. Although not ra ng his own game highly Whi a slo ed in at 4th best for his toughness and grunt out of the guts, while Marcus Senior made it a trifecta for the McGrath family picking up 5th best for his calmness and reliability down back. Rounding out the best was the big 'Mad Dog' Agars, who presented well across half forward and didn't stop working all day. It'll be a big challenge today against a strong Hatherleigh side, but let's give it our best! A Grade: The boys from the main game of the day would have gone in hoping to consolidate on the improved teamwork and ball usage from the previous week's game, which they were able to do, running out comfortable winners. Unfortunately the win came at a cost with reports of Packet suffering a knee injury. Zacc is not only a leader on the field, but also around the club as well, so I know everyone is crossing their fingers and hoping for the best as I write this, so hopefully by the me this is printed, Packet has received some good news. We're all thinking of you mate! On the plus side, Jacqui managed to smash out 154 levels of Candy Crush while wai ng at the hospital with Zacc, so the team wasn't the only winner on the day. Onto the game, and Dylan Childs just doesn't know how to stop at the moment. His Heat Map would represent one big, red dot, having the ball on a string, regularly ge ng to the drop of the ball all over the ground. This effort earned him BOG honours once again. Mic Mac built on his effort from last week boo ng 10 goals for the day, which would earn you a spot in the best any day of the week and this was no different with a second best nod. Sauce on the other hand must have run over Frazer's cat, kicking 7 majors and not featuring while the other Hentschke slo ed in at sixth best with his solitary goal. To be fair, this wasn't Pie's only contribu on on the day, direc ng traffic and steering the ship regularly, like a good rudder should. Packet played his regular brand of football to feature at 3rd before his unfortunate end to the day, while Tommy Edwards con nues his upward trajectory, displaying elusiveness and poise to slot in at fourth best. Gierschy must have figured out the Bluetooth on his phone to pump some mo va onal music into himself before the game as he con nued his purple patch to be rewarded for his efforts at 5th. Today we welcome Hatherleigh which will provide challenges across the board, but let's give it our all and hopefully come away with some wins. We also thank and acknowledge our Home Game Sponsor for today which is 'Dycer Construc ons'. Go Murphies!

Under 11: A huge turnout at Hatherleigh early Saturday morning with the visi ng Kongorong side also with a large group of keen U11 footballers. All up there would have been in excess of 50 kids running around and providing an entertaining spectacle for all of the families and friends. Clear possessions were harder to come by during the game but there were some good passages of play where some good handballs and kicks found our teammates, what was also pleasing to see was the sheparding we had prac ced Thursday night also being displayed assis ng the ball carrier to dispose of the ball in space. Well done to all. Award winners for the day were: $10 Dentons Sports Power award - Billy Bowering who plays with great determina on each week and is able to use his speed to break away from the packs with the ball. HFC $5 award - Hazel Hamilton played well ge ng in amongst the boys gaining some good touches. Ladies Commi ee award - Archie Clark one of the smallest lads on the field showing no fear found himself in the right spots ge ng his hands on the ball and ge ng a few clear kicks. McDonalds award - James Ma hews had a great day in amongst the ac on laying some tackles and ba ling away to get himself a few kicks and handballs. Junior Colts: A ripper game last week against Kongorong, both teams had some really good passages of play throughout the game with there only being 3 points in it at the last break, I asked our boys/girls if we could find that next gear and they really gave it a crack in the last quarter finishing the game 5 goal winners! Everyone played there role and I'm pleased how well the group is playing! Senior Colts: The Senior Colts came up against a compe ve and challenging Kongorong side and were looking to put in a stronger effort than last week’s effort against Robe, which was far from impressive. With an even first three quarters, it took to the final quarter to run away and secure the four points and return to the winners list.

Je Faulkner was excep onal with his run off the half back, while Paddy was strong up forward snagging 5 goals. Zac, Riley and Harvey were great all day, while Junior Colts Ollie and Brayden showed class when given the opportunity. Reserves: Another perfect day for footy on our home deck. A er a physical game against Robe the week before and a few unavailabili es we went into this match with about 8 changes. We started the game on fire with all the play down our end but didn't really capitalize on it. Kongorong ghtened up through the midfield and we came into half me with a 4 point lead. A er a bit of a rev up at the break, we came flying out of the blocks and slammed on 5 goals to 1 for the quarter. Rural and Altschy were in everything up forward, while Ryan and Raysa were giving us drive out of the middle. The 3 Lang brothers were all over the Kongorong forwards giving them nothing for the second half and this allowed us to run out comfortable 52pt winners. Best players were Rural with 4 goals, Chooka, Ryan Lindner in his first game, Raysa, Lachie and Reg. Well done to Jordan Abbo on his first game back in the Eagle colours in over 10 years, and Pegs for kicking a rare goal. A Grade: Back on our home ground against Kongorong, the first half was a thrilling fast paced contest with both us and Kongorong scoring freely. We took in a 2 goal lead at half me. A er half me we started to take advantage of our big oval with run and carry we managed to outscore Kongorong 7 goals to 3 in the third quarter. Kongorong tried to li the pressure in the last quarter but our boys matched it and with some good ball movement added another 6 goals to run out the game with a good win. Jake Wight had a good day up forward with 10 majors while Jordy Galpin found plenty of space on the wing and gave our forwards excellent delivery. Darcy Bateman had a big task shouldering most of the ruck duties all day and doing the job well. Next week we take on Glencoe on their home turf!

Today we welcome all the sponsors of senior & junior football, and also the netball sponsors, to the club and hope you enjoy our hospitality and some good footy/netball throughout the day. Last week we headed north to the home of the Hatherleigh Eagles. No wins on the board for us unfortunately, here's the reports from the games: Minis: Firstly, I would like to thank the Hatherleigh coaches and parents that helped out, the U11's game was perfectly organised, and the kids were extremely grateful for the Auskick game at half me of the A Grade. Our bigger kids were a bit all over the place against a very well coached, and compe ve team. It gave the younger ones a chance to step up and have a crack. Tyler George played an outstanding game, ge ng a lot of the ball, Zach Angelino, Iziah Stevens and Nate Elletson were always in amongst it. Special men on to Elijah 'Rooster' Aikenhead, who I think got 'two kicks, a handball and even got tackled'. Junior Colts: Was good to be back to nearly full strength again, with only a couple away. The next few weeks will see the young Hawks with a full line up for nearly the 1st me for the year. Last week we took on a very strong and well drilled Hatherleigh side, and for 3 quarters we were well and truly in the game, with a chance to hit the lead late in 3rd quarter. Unfortunately, we couldn't quite match them for the last quarter, and they managed to kick away with their bigger lads proving the difference in the end. As a game of footy it was a tough, hard, yet fair game from both sides throughout the game. Best players once again were tough to pick, with Tony and myself, and a bit of head scratching, sor ng them out. It was our best, and most even performance for the year (so far to date). Jobe Janeway took home the Swallow Drive Meats Award for best on ground, in what was his best game for the year as we let him loose in the midfield and found plenty of the ball. Jimmy Kyle in only his 4th game of footy is improving each week and has some of the hardest match ups every game, he was second best for the Rocks Shop Award. Ever reliable Toby McKinnon took home the Rocks Tavern Award, he had a tough game at full back and stopped many goals and set up heaps of play from the backline. Ryan Angelino con nues to find plenty, se ng up his team mates all over the ground and took home the Mick Mullan Award. Coaches Award is probably one of the hardest as had 12 players that could choose from, but was awarded to Tyler Richardson who was set a few challenges during the week, and in a new posi on and worked hard throughout the game. The Angelino Family Award went to another player who has really found a spot in the back flank and con nues to work hard for the 4 quarters and always looking to bring teammates into the game in Harrison Elletson. Today as we take on Robe we welcome our sponsors and look forward to thanking them by playing a good brand of 4 quarter footy! Go Hawks! Senior Colts: Last week we met Hatherleigh on their home turf. We a acked well and at mes showed class and good link up footy. Brodie Von Stanke-Dowie was given a challenge and accepted it, got on top of the

3rd qtr

challenge and it proved a handy move into the midfield to take out best player award. George Stanley played a great defensive game down back and was under a ack with the opposi on’s quicker ball movement, but never gave up, taking out the MT Wheels Award. Third best went to our leader, that willed himself all day and showed why he has held the captaincy from last year, with the Janeway Concre ng Award. Fourth best and accep ng the Badenoch's Deli Award was Declan Wright, who was another strong defender under pressure all day, from their forward entries, doing all the right things and opening up play with good ball movement forward when he had the chance. Fi h best went to a bloke that has had a new lease on life in Campbell Graney. Last but not least, and could have gone to 45 players, Will Von Stanke who didn't start well but moved to a half back flank, came alive, and showed a clean pair of heels at mes and was trying to propel the ball forward, while bringing a couple other players into the game. Will received the Spot On Fishing Award. All in all a good effort by the whole team and are se ling in to finding each other, and will be figh ng fit and ready for the challenge that is Robe today. B Grade: We came up against one of the strongest teams in the comp, matched it with them for a half, second half they ran away with it. Injuries and blokes not wan ng to be defensive enough with pressure, or just pushing back to back line cost us big me. Plenty to work on s ll. Best was Jordan Cozzi, solid all day in back line and beat his player all day. Second went to Dylan 'Fishy' Fishpool who had a job on their coach, and kept him very quiet. Third went to Brad Long also had a job on live wire forward, kept him quiet and got plenty himself. Fourth Andrew 'Noddy' Telford, and returning a er a preseason injury fi h went to Brayden 'Nugget' Leicester. Sixth to Callum Wagstafffe. A Grade: We made our way to Hatherleigh in what was a fierce game, Hatherleigh taking control in the third quarter to run away with the win. It was a tale of two halves for our boys, which saw us take it right up to them in the first half, but followed with a disappoin ng second half. S ll a lot to learn about each other and will hopefully rebound against Robe. Best player went to the ever reliable Sco Fleming, whose solid contribu on week in week out gives us first use of the footy, receiving the Collins Court Butcher Award. Ma Weistra and Cam Sandercock con nued their good form, and young gun Donny Pochec–Gordon, together with Brad Cordy, rounded out the best players for the day. This Thursday night there will be no 'meals' at the club Thursday night, however the BBQ will be in full swing, so make sure you grab a snag or a steak before heading home, and enjoy the bye weekend. Coola Cup isn't far away, so make sure you purchase your ckets from the bar, stubby shed, Brad Long or Emily Lightbody. Thanks again to the Brant families for the wood for the gate raffle. Good luck to all teams today. Carn Hawks!

A Grade: Fantas c crowd, great weather and a very moving service given by our men and women of the Defence Forces. And the match between the Roosters and the Eagles did not disappoint. Robe kicked with the breeze in the 1st quarter and both teams a acked the ball and body with ferocity. Hatherleigh seemed to have a be er system ahead of the ball but Robe’s a ack on the ball and all ground pressure resulted in Robe leading by 17 points. It was now Hatherleigh’s turn with the breeze and while they a acked hard, Robe withstood the pressure in the early part of the quarter. Poor kicking by the Eagles resulted in scores being all ed up at half me. In the third quarter Robe suffered from poor kicking for goal but did add five majors and the Robe defence managed to keep the Eagles goalless. The last quarter was a torrid affair but Robe’s pressure and skills ensured that they outscored the Eagles kicking against the wind. A great team effort, no passengers for Robe vindica ng coach Kelly’s efforts and structures that he has put in place. Best for Robe were George Du on, Jordan Pe t, Tom Williams, Riley Dickinson and Brodie Foulds. Senior Colts: It was a huge week for the Robe Football Club with the match of the round, ANZAC Day game and ceremonies. People flocked from everywhere to come and watch the Roosters and Hatherleigh go head-to-head. 2nd qtr

With the sun shining and a vibrant buzz around the oval, the day was set for some blockbuster games. Hatherleigh have been strong in their Senior Colts for a number of years and are one of our biggest rivals. We came out the blocks early using the wind advantage to the church end. Some quick clearances from the Robe boys put the Hatherleigh defence on the back foot. Flynn Peel, Ollie Hagge , Ollie McInnes and Mason Keane really started to click in the middle and piled on 11 goals to Hatherleigh's one in the first half. In the second half, the contest intensified as Hatherleigh came out firing a er the break. There were a number of scuffles between players which resulted in a goal to Hatherleigh. Hatherleigh's tackling pressure was great in the 3rd quarter and held the Robe boys to just 1 goal for the quarter. In the last quarter the Robe onslaught con nued with a variety of goal kickers. Hatherleigh con nued to ba le all day but Robe piled on another 5 goals to finish the game. We came away with the chocolates and head into bye for a well-deserved rest in round 4. Look forward to seeing you in round 5 at Kongorong. Tom 'Woka' Wachtel.

A Grade: A er a bye to freshen up a er the first 2 games and long preseason we headed off to Mt Burr in the next big test for the senior side a trip to Mt Burr, always a tough assignment. Mt Burr has come out a similar form line to us and we seemed too very evenly matched. As the teams run out on to the oval bathed in beau ful sunshine, the crowd come from everywhere to gain a vantage point to see what hopefully was going to be a great game. A great game is what the crowd received, with the margin never being any more than a few goals throughout the game, the ball moved quickly up and down the ground and in what was a great display of country football. The last quarter was a long and tense affair and seemed like it was going to never end and then with the added intrigue of the scoreboard giving us a false sense of security of an extra goal lead, as the final siren blew, we managed to hold on for a one goal victory. Best for the day was the old stager Ben McGregor, if there was a hard ball to win or a clutch goal to kick from 50 that nearly took the hamstring off the bone Benny was your man, second best was Kevin Thomson who has been a great addi on to the club this year (I probably said the same last week, but it is being proven every week), third best was Tim Sullivan who also has had a great start to the year, fourth best was Dylan Bromley who in his return to the Bay has been in fantas c form, fi h best was Mark Smith who just keeps running all through the day, crea ng plenty of play, sixth best was Jake Turner who is Pt MacDonnell’s version of Mr Fixit up forward, down back and in the midfield there is no posi on that Jake doesn't play. A er a posi ve start to the season, we host Tantanoola this week in another important game. Please be aware that the club is shut this week due to the Angler's Presenta on Tea. B Grade: We made our way to Mt Burr on the next stop on the magical mystery tour of Mid South East football and we found the oval bathed in glorious sunshine which can be a li le unseasonal in the first week in May, a er another night of selec on dramas the team was set and ready to go. With a good selec on of numbers and a couple of good wins under the belt the one thing that cannot be allowed to happen within the group and this is complacency, and this is what exactly happened in the first quarter against Mt Burr, as the Mozzies we ferocious in their a ack on the ball and were able to go into quarter me only a li le behind on scoreboard, a er quarter me and a lengthy and direct spray from coach Lewis, the boys got going and were fairly dominant over the next 3 quarters to run out and take a fairly comfortable win. Best for the day was Jacob Simmonds, who was back to his best a er missing the first week with a back injury

2nd qtr

3rd qtr

and he showed the skill that had him as a runner-up in a league medal only a few years ago. Second best was the skipper Damien O'Dine who has had a good start to the season. Third best was Gus McGregor who rarely plays a bad game and his name will be in these notes many more mes over the season. Fourth best was the vice-captain Ben Holmes, who has put in a strong pre-season and is ge ng the rewards for the effort. Fi h best was Caleb Catena who has had an impressive start to the season and is looking as a great addi on to the side. Sixth best was the mercurial goal sneak Ma Stark, who over the years has amazed and wowed the crowd with his goal kicking prowess. This week we host Tantanoola, hopefully we will have a solid week on the track and be ready to take on the Tigers Senior Colts: In what can only be described as a tough game against a quality side. The boys busted their guts all game and never gave up, but we were simply outclassed by a be er team. Best players were Koby being hard all day. Connor second best didn’t stop pushing or give up all game. Redan third solid in defence, he took some strong marks and broken tackles all day. Hayden solid defender rebounded all day, Luke with good run and carry and very nice foot work. 6th was Isaac being a good leader as usual. Hopefully, we can get back on the winners list this week. Also, we would also like to offer thanks to Mt Burr for chucking a couple boys our way to help fill the team and giving everyone a game. Junior Colts: Last week we took on Mt Burr. The boys had a good week on the track and were keen and up for the challenge. We started well and maintained their pressure and effort for four quarters. It was great to see the team work and the way we were moving the ball around was very pleasing to watch. The boys put in a great final quarter and had the crowd up and about but unfortunately were not able to get over the line. Best players were 1st Kai Gilmore who won plenty of the ball and had some great runs down the field. 2nd Zaylen Smith who played a great game down at full back taking intercept marks and stopping numerous goals. 3rd Nathaniel Abbo in only his second game of footy controlled his centre half back posi on, tackled hard and crashed through the packs. 4th Zane Lewis who always has a red hot go and is a tackling machine. 5th Casey Wilson who presented well all over the ground and is really star ng to find his feet at centre half forward. 6th Flynn Dennert who a acked the ball and read the play really well. Keep up the good work boys both at training and on game day. Let’s look forward to our next challenge against Tantanoola.

opposi on and I couldn't be happier with the a tude of the boys who gave their all whist playing for them. Also the way we shared the ball and goals to give everyone a taste with 13 goal kickers for the day and Brayden kicking a goal for K'doo. Well done. Awards were Kaden (Canteen), Kobe (Bakers Delight), Chad (Jennings family award) and Jake (KFC). Bests were everyone played well. Senior Colts: Another great win to the lads. Every week the boys are playing a great game, ge ng be er and be er. Let's go out this week boys and get another win under our belts and keep playing the same game we have been playing involving everyone out on the ground. Go Tigers! Best players: Ellis, Sam Jennings, Sam Simmons, Paddy, Saxon and Noah. B Grade: Last weekend saw us take on the Magpies at home. We fought hard but unfortunately fell away late in the last quarter. Really proud of everyone who pulled on a jumper and gave 100%. I feel like a win is not to far off. Keep figh ng lads. Best players were Marky, Langers, Saxon, Snooky and Bundy down back. A Grade: G'day everyone. Last week we took on Kalangadoo at home for round 4 of the MSEFL. Throughout the game both sides had their runs and passages of great football, we unfortunately didn't capitalise on scoring opportuni es, where Kalangadoo proved to be more accurate. The boys put in a great 4 quarter hard fought effort but the Doo boys proved be er on the day. Big men on from our side is that we had 5 Senior Colts players, not just to fill numbers but they held their ground and were quite dangerous with ball in hand when they got the chance. Best in no order were Jack Dawe, Jordan Ha , Brandon Pi s, Cam Saint and Roy Osborne.

A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW ROUND 5 KALANGADOO v NANGWARRY Kalangadoo are at home this week, taking on the Saints. Kalangadoo had a convincing 16 goal win against Tantanoola last round while the Saints were beaten by 30 goals when they took on Glencoe. Kalangadoo have started their 2021 season campaign brilliantly and it's hard to see Nangwarry ge ng close to them in their current form. Melissa Russell and Abbey Duncan are outstanding in goals and are well supported by Ebony McDiarmid when she hits the court. They will have Nangwarry defenders Carly Ploenges and youngster Hayley Vanderhorst working extremely hard if they want to win the ball. There will be a good contest in the middle with Hayley Burner in good form for the Saints and Kalangadoo coach Jayde Peacock solid and consistent as always for the Magpies. Cassie Dinnison works hard in goals with Ange Pra , they will need to be accurate as Magpies defenders Chelsea Croser and Chloe Pra are in red hot form and will snap up any missed opportuni es. Kalangadoo will likely play some juniors as they have been in their first few ou ngs, showing the excep onal depth the club has. Kalangadoo will take the points at home. GLENCOE v HATHERLEIGH Glencoe take on Hatherleigh at home this week, both teams coming off good, strong wins last round. Glencoe had a 30 goal win over the Saints, while Hatherleigh trounced Kongorong by 65 goals. Hatherleigh have been impressive so far this season but this will be their first test against a top 4 side. Junior Lacey Haines has been outstanding in the goal circle for the

Eagles and is well supported by either Maddie Pulmer or the experienced Keston Green. Sarah Faulkner and Tegan Merre are also very clever feeders, Glencoe’s defensive duo of Sarah Edwards and Emily Thompson will need to be at their best to stop the supply. Donna Jaeschke and Ashlea Edwards are in good form for the Murphies and should have a good ba le with Faulkner and Lara McGregor who has been in top form for the Eagles. Sarah Broadhead and Maddie Redman have been doing some great work in defence for the Eagles and will be looking to con nue their form against Glencoe’s strong goalies, led by Caitlyn Hentschke. This should be the match of the round and both coaches will be desperately looking for their team to add more points to the board. Toss a coin for this one and watch with interest! KONGORONG v ROBE Kongorong return home this week and take on Robe who are coming off the bye. Kongorong were soundly beaten by Hatherleigh at the weekend and will be hoping to bounce back. Robe have had a devasta ng year with injuries, but this weekend they should see the return of Alannah Campbell from an ankle injury and possibly even playing coach Kimberly Aus n who injured her knee in Round 1. The Roosters’ Tori Gluyas has been consistent in goals and along with Sarah Laurie will keep Hawks defenders Emily Lightbody and Ella McIntyre on their toes. Emalee Stokker for the Hawks has been a focal point in the goal circle, coach Sonya Beare has tried different goalies with Stokker, with Sarah Beare, Georgia Bald and Ella McIntyre all having a run. The Hawks are a young and

Proudly supporting the Mid South East Football League

inexperienced side and don't appear to have as much depth as other clubs do. Expect them to give more juniors a run throughout the season and gain them senior experience which will hopefully benefit them in the future. Robe to take the points this week. PORT MACDONNELL v TANTANOOLA Port MacDonnell head home this week and take on the Tigers. Port Mac are coming off a 39 goal loss against an impressive Mount Burr while Tantanoola suffered a 16 goal defeat against Kalangadoo. Port Mac's defence team of Lisa McGregor and Morgan Amy have been working well together and will need to con nue that good form as they take on Emma Gould and Jami Walker for the Tigers who are both capable of big games on their day and are both accurate shooters. Demons coach Kirby Carrison is s ll trying different combina ons, she works well in goals with Brooke Williams but has also tried Cody Manning and youngster Keyarnah Smith in the circle. The Tigers defence line has been working well with junior Tayla Rowe stepping up and performing well, ably assisted by Kate Bromley. Vic Lucas and Casey Walker have been in good form for the Tigers, they should have a great ba le with the Demons Michelle Moore and Jess Trench. The Demons have had a tough draw for the start of the season and will be hoping to get some points on the board in the coming weeks. Tantanoola are si ng at 2 wins, 2 losses and will also be keen to add some more points to their collec on. This will be a good game, the Tigers may just come out on top. Mount Burr has the bye.

NETball club notes Junior 2: Everyone played well. We made space in defence in which the ball was easier to get down to our goals, keep this up. Harper - Muffin Break, Elana - Bakers Delight, Ella Paradise Pizza all received best players awards, you all have improved in a short me, just need to yell out more when you are free. Let's concentrate on our passes from centre into goals, we just tend to lose sight of ge ng the ball into our hands. Junior 1: Great team effort girls well done. We might need to train on the A Grade court more o en as you started to work like a real netball team against Tant! It was great to see everyone give their best effort in new posi ons. Ma lda and Ashley were li le pocket rockets in the goal circle with many nice goals, Lexi and Emmity worked hard all game and had some beau ful shoulder passes. Molly, Ava and Ebony applied lots of defensive pressure and turned the ball over plenty. Well done and thank you to Sophie and Carney for playing a quarter, you both did really well. Awards: Ashley - Athletes Foot, Lexi - Bakers Delight and Ebony Copenhagen. 13 & Under: It may seem strange, but it is not easy playing against an inexperienced team with many young players. I must commend the Tantanoola girls for their efforts they played it out right to the end! We took an opportunity to give Ava, Emmity and Molly a taste of 13s compe on and all did a good job I was par cularly impressed by their strong shoulder passes. We also gave everyone experience in different posi ons. Awards: Maya (Paradise Pizza), Lucy (SAL Real Estate), best players were Shayden and Alice. 15 & Under: Congratula ons and well done for the suppor ve manner you all handled con nuous changes and court me we used Saturday as we managed our large “15s squad”. It allowed us to help out our 17s and 13s and give fair court me to all. Awards: Ebony (Fasta Pasta) and Ash (Muffin Break). Best in an even team performance were Chloe and Abby. 17 & Under: Not our best game but got through with a solid win. Thank you to Abby, Ebony and Georgia for helping us out - we certainly do appreciate your commitment to our team. Holly played well to receive “Reanna's Beauty” award. I understand we changed our posi ons around which caused some disrup ons to our passages of play. We do however need to concentrate on our passing and limit turnovers. Thank you to Sophie V for your con nued support to this team - Athletes Foot award. B Reserve: Another team

NETball club notes performance - well done. Jodi (Athlete's Foot) played a ripper well backed by Rhi. The passing and understanding between these two is great to watch. Brianna picked up the Chelsea Feast award and Gem the F45. Maddy was rewarded for si ng bench the last few weeks and slo ed in well. Best players went to Bills and Jodi. B Grade: We had a good start last week. Goalies and defence worked well together to get a solid lead with Jess B and Lucy making efficient transfer of turnovers. Tant came out strongly in the second quarter and we had to readjust at half me to try and regain the lead. Jolie and Shanae kept a consistent head at C and Gina held super strongly to offer shoo ng opportuni es. A er a really solid last two quarters we came away with the win. Best: Athletes Foot - Jolie Crowhurst, Pines Hotel - Gina Gogel, Margaret Street Meats - Shanae Neale. A Reserve: Overall a good result and we came away with the win, however we were very patchy for lots of the game. I am sure some of this was heat related however some was just not pu ng what we know and prac ce into play and at mes it looked very messy and unpolished on court. Eb as usual had a stellar game bringing lots of leadership and direc on on court as well as shoo ng the majority of the teams' goals and was well supported by Maddy who was pulling in lots of rebounds. Shelbs provided lot of drive through the mid court when on and got lots of hands to ball. Was also great to see Anthea back on court feeding the shooters beau fully and direc ng play as required. Let's keep working on the basics so we can keep growing as a team. Terry White Chemmart Award - Ebony McDiarmid, Fasta Pasta Award - Shelby Ryan, Leanne Li le Body Shop Award - Maddy Bonanno. A Grade: A er a slow start we were able to build throughout the match to produce many good passages of play and saw some great defensive pressure which led to numerous turnovers. We did however struggle at mes to u lise our opportuni es in a ack. The game demonstrated the importance of being switched on from the first whistle and ensuring individually we remain in the game and give 100% across four quarters. Let's con nue to work hard at trainings and improve each week. Awesome effort again from Eb, amazing that you are able to step in and play to such a high standard, at such short no ce. Thank you and well done. Thank you to Kirst, Judy and Ka e for your efforts on the sideline. Best players: Mel - Shelton's Butcher, Chloe Penola IGA, Chelsea - Beauty by Re.

In great netball weather, last week against Glencoe was a tough one with only 13&U coming home with the win. It's good to see though all teams improving every week. Thanks to all for helping with any jobs that were needed last week. We would like to thank silver sponsors McDonalds, P.E. Stump and Gildera Forestry Services for their con nued sponsorship. This week we play Kalangadoo and let's see us get a few wins, good luck. Junior 2: I am so proud of all you li le ones. Every week we con nue to get to improve, and we now are star ng to know where we need to stand for each posi on. We all just need to try and get in front of our players when we call for the ball and not throw big passes. But it's great to see how much be er you are ge ng every week. Keep up the great work. Athletes Foot - Madalyn, McDonalds - Harper. Junior 1: Great effort by everyone. We need to remember to come in front and use our voices. We had some really good passages of play with everyone doing some great defence down the court. Best players: Ruby Penola Recycling, Lucy - McDonald's. 13 & Under: Well done on another win. Good to get the points although a hard game to watch. We welcomed Gemma playing her first game for the year. Gemma proved she is versa le and played at both ends. Our next game will be extremely hard, and we all need to ensure we work on ge ng in front to stand a chance of receiving the ball. Great effort Gemma winning the Nangwarry Serv Well award. Skye had a great game in centre providing plenty of drive and defence was outstanding winning her the Pines Hotel award. 15 & Under: A great game with a massive effort from each player on the court. I am so proud of the whole team so many great passages of play and everyone worked so hard. A few things to work on a training but the skill and strength from the girls is ge ng be er every week. Congratula ons to our hard-working defensive duo on ge ng. Best players: Emily Timms (Fasta Pasta), Tanisha McNair (Hungry Jacks). 17 & Under: The girls took on board what I had asked of them and played a good three quarters. We had a couple of injuries at the end of the third quarter which le us struggling but the girls s ll gave it their all. We had a few very good passages down the court which led to a couple turnovers but unfortunately, we were unable to score off these. But with me our whole game will improve. Thanks heaps to the parents that scored and med we appreciate it a lot as many hands make light work. Best: Montana McKay - canteen voucher, Mia Timms - Hungry Jacks award. B Reserve: We knew last week was going to be a tough one, but we put up a good fight. Glencoe had a strong defence which made it tough to

convert. A big well done to Kate who worked hard at being an op on in the goal third as well as throughout the centre. Megan's work rate throughout the game was consistent and did everything that was asked. We are sad it was your last game Megan, but we wish you luck in Roxby. Best player went to Davina, I seriously have no words, a very impressive game. Lots to work on at training but can see a lot of posi ves to come this season. B Grade: Wow it was a hot one for round 4. We had a fantas c first quarter girls and we need to take that posi ve and build on it. It has been a hard few weeks for us because we s ll have not played with our whole team, injuries and players away have meant we have not been as se led as I would have liked and here is hoping this week against Kalangadoo, we have a full side fingers crossed. Thank you to Simone and Meagan for filling in the last few weeks and to the under 17's si ng bench. There are a few things to work on at training this week and if we could all do a li le bit of fitness in our own me, I think we will con nue to improve. Meighan held her own again and if we con nue to feed into her, we will reap the rewards, and Stevie had a great game con nuously talking and giving direc on. Best players and the Pines Hotel award went to Tamara Ploenges and Meighan Trestrail. A Reserve: Last few weeks we have had some tough opposi on. Do not be too hard on yourselves, it's something we need to work on. We have so many good patches and if we can get that for 4 quarters then the wins will come again. We just need to remember to lead in front of the player not behind and not rush the pass but wait for the opening. Let's regroup and work on these things at training. Awesome work by Shandeen, you really li ed and started just to play your game and run, not worrying about everyone else, earning the Jens award - well done. A Grade: We started off brilliantly in the first following on from our win the week before. We all did our part and kept with them. We then started to make poor passing decisions le ng ourselves down a bit and making it harder for ourselves. Some mes we need to just fake all the way down the court, so they commit, then pass. Last half we took our foot off the pedal, which is a lack of fitness, but we s ll had some glimpses of great play. Some of our transi ons were amazing and if we can do this consistently for 4 quarters, we will get the wins we all want. Just remember we are all a new team and are adjus ng to how each other plays. Do not be too hard on yourselves I know we are, but I feel you can walk off with your heads held high as we definitely held our own and gave them a good run. Fasta Pasta award went to Kylie for her amazing game, and we hope your feet are be er soon.

Ruby played a great game ge ng 2 hands on rebounds and not allowing her a ackers to set up on her and get the ball and earned herself the Dycer Construc on Award. Violet played well with great feeding to the goalies and received the encouragement award. Unfortunately, didn't come away with the win but each quarter the girls gave it their very best and that's all I can ask for. We just need to remember to breathe, take control and remember we have me. Great work though girls - very proud. 15 & Under: 31-21. Great game girls. From the first centre pass you had drive down the court and hunger for the ball. You played together as a whole team and rewarded turnovers. Posi ve comments on the court help keep heads high and never give up a tude. Defence worked really well together, Tayliah adapted really well and many great intercepts with good solid foot work. Jorja Owen and Jasmine Mutch worked well together in the defence goal ring having many turnovers. Shooters moved well and great talking from Zoe and Jena to the shooters. Great team effort once again. B Grade: 71-37. A tough game in hot condi ons. We changed around the side and tried some new combina ons and credit to you all for adjus ng well. Sam had a top game in defence with plenty of touches along with Amy, it was good to see you out of the ring and ge ng into the game. Chloe had plenty of intercepts through the middle and wasn't alone with Kayla and Zoe running it out. With Bianca back we had new goalie combina ons so credit to the a ack for making the changes seamlessly. A tough one this week girls so switch on and play our game. Congratula ons to Chelsea on your first A Grade game. You did a great job and we can't wait to see how you grow and improve throughout the year. O'Brien Electrical Award went to Sarah Edwards and second best to Donna Jaeschke.

Junior 2: The J2s had two first gamers last week! Kaia did some excellent defensive work in the goal circle, reading the play well to pick up some great intercepts. Harper stuck close to her opponent on the wing, before finding some space in the goal circle to shoot her first goal. Well done girls! The Hatherleigh girls showed teamwork as they worked the ball down the court with some nice, straight leads. They avoided crowding by clearing into space and reoffering. Arabella used her dodge and front-cu ng to lose her player and then shot accurately in GA. Maggie scored some great goals in the first half, a er leading out of the circle and cu ng back strongly. Kirby played a strong role in C, ge ng plenty of the ball and feeding directly into the goalies. Paige once again was a standout in defence but then showed great movement in the goal ring. Mollie's defensive pressure was impressive, using her height and posi on to pick off some strong intercepts. Toy Kingdom Award: Arabella, Java Café Award: Kaia, Hatherleigh Ladies Commi ee Award: Harper. Junior 1: Another great game li le Eagles. Your resilience to adjust and change to moving into different posi ons is great to see. Each and every-one of you did an amazing job with your space awareness down the court and there were at mes passages of play that were that of what you might see in a senior game. Hazel came up from the J2s for her first game and played well with lots of talk and plenty of intercepts. Scarle , Sienna, Olivia H had great defensive pressure and plenty of turnovers throughout the game. Grace, Alirah, Livvi and Luca moved really well through the mid court and a ack line making lots of space and a great opportunity for goals to be scored. Well done again li le Eagles, keep talking, keep moving and most importantly keep having fun. Big thanks to Tweet for primary carer and Jess for ming. 13 & Under: A pleasing effort holding Kongorong to 4 goals while scoring 40 of our own. More pleasing was the commitment to improving our skills and developing our game. Quite a few posi onal changes throughout the game with players adap ng well to new posi ons. Working on improving our fitness will ensure we can play 4 quarters at a consistent level. Congratula ons to Kalli and Alex who were elected captains by their teammates. Hatherleigh Ladies Commi ee Award: Shama, Ducky's Surf Award: Sylvie. 15 & Under: Hatherleigh 58 def Kongorong 26. Wow what an amazing step up from our last game, I was so excited to see determina on and intensity. All 8 of the girls all did their job and adjusted quickly to posi onal changes made each quarter without a no ceable impact. Our a ack was open and we saw some very slick passes. Our defence end created endless turnovers. Kyah had an outstanding game in GK and tried very hard in all 4 quarters to try everything we worked on at training. Deni played a much stronger game ge ng turnovers and crea ng space in a ack. Hatherleigh Ladies Commi ee Award: Kyah, Java Café Award: Deni. 17 & Under: What a game girls, with the final score being 101-19. We u lised fantas c passages of play and really found our way down the court in the last half. Captain Rosie Ne le drove the ball down the court with direc on and applied strong defensive pressure. Our mid-courters Emma, Demi and Jasmyne pushed effortlessly to create numerous turnovers to our very accurate goalies Lacey and Dakota, who con nued to work beau fully through the circle together. Elly Redden was solid in defence all game, controlling the opposi on goal circle. Special thank you to NIah Faulkner and Tori Haines for si ng bench and having a very good debut into 17's netball. Amazing effort girls! Denton's Sportspower Award: Jasmyne Bellinger, Hatherleigh Ladies Commi ee Award: Lacey Haines. B Reserve: Hatherleigh 51 def Kongorong 24. Another good win girls. Dizey came out strong and confident and together with Indi worked hard in the goal circle both shot with accuracy in the first half. Thursday night Karen hurt her calf and we wish her a speedy

recovery and look forward to having you back playing. Staci stepped into GD and combined well with Fee in GK both girls crea ng lots of turnovers and Fee rebounded strongly. Amy in WD once again played hard all game and intercepted many balls. Sally and Michelle both dominated in the mid-court their passes into the goalies on point. The second half saw some changes with Michelle and Indi coming off in the 3rd quarter both not feeling 100% this saw Jnr Elly Redden come on at GD and Billie on at GS. Elly worked hard and got her hands to the ball numerous mes crea ng turnovers. Thank you Elly for filling in, you really did an amazing job. Billie worked hard in GS and took on board everything that was asked of her. We s ll have lots to work on but we are star ng to gel together as a team and star ng to find confidence in ourselves as players. Hannah was away unwell, we all hope you are star ng to feel be er. Somerset Award: Dizey, Java Café Award: Staci, HS&R Award: Billie. B Grade: Hatherleigh 51 def Kongorong 30. A great game from all 8. We are star ng to gel and our court play improved immensely since last game. The pace was be er and our space down the court allowed us greater transi on to our goal circle. I think our run against the A Reserve Thursday night definitely helped us. Leila and Ellie are growing in confidence each week and the rota on and shoo ng in the goal circle was excellent, having some bigger and taller opponents we stood up and played strong. Meg did a great job in WD, ge ng a few intercepts. Nat, Lacey and Nic rotated in C and the WA posi on and every combina on was smooth and all 3 did an awesome job feeding and re-offering. Georgia and Ella played a great game once again and are star ng to find there groove in the defensive end with great communica on and hard work rate. Well done everyone, was super impressed. Let's keep up the hard work and the fitness as we have some tough games to come. Thank you so much to Indi from B Res and Jaz from the 17s for si ng bench for us, so greatly appreciated. HS&R Award: Leila Buhlmann, Somerset Award: Ellie Cook, HS&R Award: Ella Major. A Reserve: It was always going to be a tough hitout against Kongorong last week. We were struck with an injury in the first minute of play as Isabel went down with an ankle. Hatherleigh had to regroup as Lucy Chant hit the court, but play was scrappy as both teams adjusted to their opponents. Hatherleigh led at the first break by one. The second quarter was ght as Eliza and Paris star ng finding each other open in the goal ring. Hatherleigh moved the ball freely down the court and were driving hard out of defence. Kongorong kept themselves in the game with speed and accuracy in their goal circle. The scoreline was up and down in the third. Abbie was strong in GK, ge ng into excellent posi on to intercept and rebound. Melissa con nued to direct play through a ack and feed confidently to the goalies. Kongorong went into the break with a twogoal lead. Hatherleigh showed fight in the last quarter with Eliza playing on despite a hand injury. The Hatherleigh defence didn't let up, but Kongorong treasured possessions and capi lised on any turnovers. In the end it was Kongorong 46-41. Caltex Award: Eliza, Kelsey Wight Fitness Award: Abbie, Chemist King Award: Helen. A Grade: Hatherleigh 88 def Kongorong 23. A fantas c game from everyone. Defensively we worked super hard and created many turnovers, whilst the a acking play was awesome with minimal errors. Lace worked hard and was on song from the get go and Lara con nues to impress at WD. Sarah B con nues to grow in confidence and is working really well with Maddie R. Teagan and Sarah F are reading off each other and crea ng plenty of drive to circle edge where Maddie P, Lace and Kes are finishing off for us. Lots to work on s ll and keep pushing ourselves but we're tracking okay. In a season where a lot of teams have been hit with serious injuries already we wish everyone a speedy recovery and hope you are all back on court soon. To our own Kes... its just a cramp - see you next week at training. Caltex Award: Tegan, Somerset Award: Maddie R, HLC/Kelsey Wight Fitness Award: Sarah.

Junior 2: Great job girls! We are s ll learning where to go and where we can't go but I can't knock your enthusiasm or want for the ball. We will keep working on moving into space and not crowding the ball. We all hope Holly has a speedy recovery! Awards: Meeka - Fasta Pasta and Zayley - $5 Angelino award. Junior 1: It was a bit of a tough game against a strong Hatherleigh side. Once again, the girls listened beau fully and demonstrated everything we did at training. Against a tough side we played really well and should all be proud. Awards went to Abby (Fasta Pasta) and Flick (The Bellum Hotel) who both listened to what I asked of them and showed it on court. Well done girls! 13 & Under: Another tough match last week but we are ge ng be er with each game. There are a few things to work on at training this week - mainly the conges on of play, and playing in front. Our last quarter saw changes to our defence which improved our game significantly and held Hatherleigh to only 7 goals for the 4th quarter! I'm finding the girls are all star ng to listen a bit more and take on board ps, tricks, and cri cism and our voices on the courts have raised a decibel or so which is great to see. Let's go girls. Fasta Pasta -

NETball club notes Holly and Bakers Delight - Xiana. 15 & Under: Good game girls against a strong opposi on. We s ll need to look for other op ons and use our voices more and louder. Some great shoo ng from Evie and Thalia, Yasmine showed some great leads and posi ons with Alisha playing well in centre. Bakers Delight - Sophie and Hungry Jacks - Yasmine. 17 & Under: We faced a really strong opposi on, although we gave it our all. Fitness was a huge factor and we may need to work on this in the future. A huge reason behind a lot of their goals was their fitness and endurance throughout the whole game. In saying this, the girls kept their heads up and con nued to work hard throughout the four quarters. The Body Shop - Milla and Fasta Pasta - Evie. B Reserve: Good game girls. We worked well together as a team. Passes and leading in front s ll needs some work but we can work on that at training. Awards: Tamika - She's Apples and Skye Lima and Co. B Grade: Well fought game girls. It was a tough game but we managed to hold our own. With a few fill-ins last minute we were able to work well together but just couldn't get over the line. Very proud of everyone. Awards: Mik - F45 and Scout - Baker's Delight. A Reserve: A hard fought game against Hatherleigh brought the A Reserve girls their 4th win for the season! Defence worked relessly to force the turnovers needed for the a ack line to convert into goals to get ahead in the fourth quarter and bring home the win. Athletes Foot voucher - Bri and F45 voucher Alicia. A Grade: With lots of fill-ins crea ng a new look team we took me to find our feet. Swinging changes at half me created more height in our a ack line giving us more scoring opportuni es. Thank you to Sarah Lucas and Amber Halleday for filling in and also Megan Bowering, Rach Perry and Georgia Bald from the A Res. Best players were Ella McIntyre and Amber Halleday. Awards: Sam - F45 and Sarah B Lima and Co.

Junior 2: Round 3 and 3rd game for our Robe J2's, with already so much improvement being seen. Going up against a skilled Hatherleigh side the girls did fantas c to keep pushing to the end. We saw some great passages of play, with a few of the older girls really stepping up to help the younger ones out. With lots of support from family and friends on the sidelines each week, it's really helping the girl's confidence grow. Each week brings something new to focus on at training the following week and it's really great to see the girls implemen ng these new skills at Saturday's games. Well done! Incen ve (Canteen) went to Henna Malone. Junior 1: Robe turned on the weather for a fun filled day of netball/football and ANZAC celebra ons. Our li le Junior 1 team is star ng to gel together to play a great game of netball. We've been working on our back line pass ins and there was a huge improvement. Incen ve (Mahalia Coffee) Mackenzie Makzcowiack for playing her own best team game, well done. Chocolate award: Milla Roach for her great defensive game. 13 & Under: Robe 12 Hatherleigh 31. Last round we were focusing on stronger passes and being able to put them into the right space and driving harder at the ball. We had at least two quarters where we were focused. Each week, we are improving, and we need to keep working on how to improve ourselves. Hatherleigh were the be er side. Best player (The Pastry Place) went to Demi Bermingham as she played a strong consistent game with great leads. Meg Schubert showed she could drive hard at the ball giving her the incen ve (Steve’s Place). A good effort girls. 15 & Under: Robe 19 Hatherleigh 38. Best player (The Union): Charlie Rayner. Incen ve (Burger & Co): Ella Bermingham. 17 & Under: Robe 26 Hatherleigh 59. What a game! Although the score doesn't reflect your hard work, you all played a great game of netball. We didn't let them walk over us and s ll put the pressure on Hatherleigh and made them work for it. Defence worked relessly ge ng many touches and their efforts were no ced by all. A ack had great strong passages of play and goalies started to use each other and look in the ring! Woo! Best player (The Project) went to Libby Yeo for a strong defensive game and great backing up down the court. Incen ve (Robe Hair Affair) went to Maddie Wirth for manning up and using her body. This wasn't an unachievable game and I am already looking forward to the next me we meet - it'll be a great game to watch! B Reserve: Robe 26 Hatherleigh 56. We knew Hatherleigh were going to be a strong contest and they certainly were but to your credit girls you persisted all game and the score did not reflect the court play. With quite a few absences on court including our Chief Lonny, who was a major organiser in the very successful Robe 2 Recovery ANZAC weekend. We applaud and thank all involved for their efforts and congratulate Lonny on her well-deserved Goldsworthy Volunteers Award. Now back to the game, all girls held their posi ons well - it didn't take us long to se le into the new line up and all work relessly. Jess started well in goals with our ever consistent Alison then moved forward into WA and Cassie back to GS, this assisted the a ack line to open up and the ball flowed be er down the court. Robyn (C) and Olivia (WD) had

constant pressure with the ball frequen ng both ends of the court con nuously. Maddie Wirth (GD) filled in a whole game ght in defence with Mandz Clarke who debuted for the season and maintained her pressure in the goal ring (GK) the intercepts started to occur. Ella Mackey (17s) also slo ed in well suppor ng the team with her fitness and flexibility playing a quarter in C and GD. Onward and upwards girls, well done! Calcu a (Steve’s Place) went to Maddie Wirth and Incen ve (Robe Hairport) to Olivia Valente. B Grade: Robe 27 Hatherleigh 35. Another solid effort girls, we were always within reach throughout the game and only went down by a small margin in the end. We had some great passages of play and everyone worked hard all game long. We s ll need to work towards ge ng our 4th quarter fitness. Calcu a (Lush Flowers) went to Phoebe Baker who came on in GD and took some great intercepts and rebounds. Incen ve (Loaves & Fishes) went to Sophie Kokiousis who put in a great 4 quarter effort. A Reserve: Robe 34 Hatherleigh 36. Great game from all the girls on the court, it really showed us what we are capable of. All girls played a well controlled team game, backing each other up, talking and direc ng one another. Extremely great pressure from the defensive girls working so hard and really star ng to gel well together in the circle. Demi and Shelby, another new combo also combining well, rebounding really strongly. The mid court remained consistent and managed to bring the ball safely and calmly down the court - again with some new faces amongst the mix. It was very unfortunate for us not to come away with the win a er being in front for majority of the game - we now have to learn how to win. Now we've set this standard, let's keep pushing girls. Calcu a (The Union) went to a very deserving Car a Borrelli who played a controlled game, direc ng her teammates throughout. Incen ve (The Pastry Place) awarded to Demi Carter for playing a strong, fast game at GA, rebounding majority of the minimal goals she missed. Thanks so much to Jade, Emma, Libby, Demi and Billie for helping us out again. A Grade: Robe 36 Hatherleigh 54. Wow! What an amazing experience to be part of such a spectacular day! We came out strong in the first quarter, with lots of pressure all over the ball and excellent shoo ng and moving by Sarah and Tori in goals. Unfortunately, Alannah went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter, with Shelby stopping up and taking the court at WD. In the second quarter we kept the fight up, with Car a coming into GD and running relessly all day a er a game of A Reserves! Georgia played a ripper at GK, ge ng her hands to lots of balls and consistently rebounding with any chance she had. With tough pressure from Hatherleigh, Kim and Keryn worked together to get the ball down the court and into the ring. Sammy had a tough gig standing the ANZAC medallist, but maintained pressure on her throughout the game. At half me Hatherleigh made some changes, which made it hard for us to maintain the close match and ended up running away with the game by 18 goals. Thanks to Shelby and Car a for si ng our bench and playing a er playing full games of A Reserves. Calcu a (The Cally) went to Georgia Perkins and Incen ve (The Coastal Club) went to Tori Gluyas.

port macdonnell NETball club notes Junior 1: Round 3 found us at Mt Burr. Some of the Mt Burr girls were extremely tall and very compe ve which gave our girls the me to shine and put the things we learn at training into game day and that's exactly what they did. It was great to see talk all over the court and the girls really stepping up and showing that no ma er how tall our opponent is we can s ll get the job done. The girls should be really proud of themselves for their outstanding effort from the a ack end all the way to the defence end. There was some really great transi ons all throughout the court which was great to see that the girls are really star ng to listen to what's being said at training and then applying it into the game on a Saturday everyone should be proud of their efforts. Best players went to everyone. Great job girls - very proud. Junior 2: Great game girls! Everyone started to come out of their shell and started having more of a crack. Peyton, Skyla, Evie and Lily all got lots of touches and were great leaders on and off court. Anna tried hard all game and was awarded best for the day. Brianna stuck to her player well and did exactly what was asked of her. The rest of the girls red hard to put their dodging skills into ac on and passing. Best: Anna and Brianna. 13 & Under: Awards: Bella McLean (Fasta Pasta) and Isla Fulham (Parade Fish Shop). We had a slow start to the game but we improved as the game went on. Lily had a great first half, Isla got injured in the first quarter but came back on in the last quarter and played really well. Bella shot and moved well, Bailee and Jas had another great game. Layla had a great game at GK (just needs to grow a bit taller) and worked relessly with Ma lda all game. Mollie you always listen and try your best and Chelsea you are improving each week. Let's think about what we do at training and bring it into the game this week against Tant. 15 & Under: Awards - Lara Wilson (Donut King) and Sophie Lewis (Donut King). Well done girls on a nail-bi ng game last week against Mt Burr. It was a great game to watch being extremely close all the way up ll three quarter me. We are extremely proud of the things that are being implemented into the game from trainings and the way you adjust every week when we ask you girls to change something. 17 & Under: Awards - Mackenzie Millard and Ruby Wallace. Saturday showed that we really need to work on our fitness. We need to be able to play at 100% consistently, and unfortunately, we struggled with that in the last half. Everyone played well, we just run out of legs which burnt us in the end and lost our control of the ball when we needed to remain in control of the play. Well done to all of you for adjus ng to different combina on through the en re game. B Reserve: Awards - Natasha Sanderson (Fasta Pasta) and De Spencer (Shed 21). It was a warm day at the Burr and we had a strong start to the game. In the first quarter we had strong drives and great passes. Our mid court players, Candice and Emilie open the court for the goalies to find space and score. Unfortunately, Emilie landed awkard and had to be taken off the court to seek medical a en on. Once we re grouped we con nued on working the ball down the court using our angles and working

for each other. The defensive effort all over the court was excellent. Sal and De worked hard in the goal ring finding space to score. Mckenize and Candice delivered the ball beau fully with the same excep onal pin point pass. Natasha, Kelly and Jaytee's defence was ght. The girls turned over many balls we capitalised on. Natasha's work in defence earned her the Fasta Pasta award. De got the Shed 21 award for her reless work in a ack. B Grade: Awards - Maddy Hann (Bakers Delight) and Lyndall Feast (Shed 21). We were finally able to have our full team on court and the ball flowed fluently from defence to a ack. Defence was ght all day and gave us the jump early on. A ack end steadied and made the most of the full court pressure to extend the lead in the 3rd quarter. We need to remember to pace ourselves and play our game. When we do this our court play and structure work well. It's great to see Lyndall and Ashton take on advice and improve their game each week. Congratula ons to our playing coach Lauren for playing her 350th game. We are glad we could get a win for you. Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season. A Reserve: Awards - Belinda O'Dine and Cody Manning. Good game girls, we had some great passages of play. We got lazy and chucked away a lot of passes, we needed to se le and regroup which is what we did coming into the last quarter. Our defence worked relessly all game and got plenty of turnovers for their hard work. A Grade: Awards - Lisa McGregor (Lima and Co) and Morgan Amy (F45). Mount Burr have definitely proved they are a finals compe tor. Was not a good day for the Bay, our defenders worked relessly ge ng plenty of touches and turnovers, our a ack line couldn't reward the hard work Lisa and Morgan did. Best players - Lisa McGregor (Lima and Co) and Morgan Amy (F45). Club News: Congratula ons to Lauren Lewis on playing 350th game at Mt Burr. Lauren is a very important person to our club on and off the court. Well done on this achievement Lauren. Junior 2: What a great day for netball. The girls all tried their best but were up against a couple of tall Kalangadoo girls who were brilliant at picking that ball off. I love that no ma er what they all never give up. We just need to work on staying on our player and pu ng our hands up. Awards went to Daisy who amazes me each week at GK and to Polly for having the best crack at C. Junior 1: Although we played a more experienced team, we showed great commitment to our game. Isabella and Summer showed persistence in defence, ge ng many touches on the ball. Renae, Tameka and Jaycee ba led for space and con nually fought for the ball along. Emie and Peyton in defence were constantly applying pressure taking many intercepts, changing the pace of the game. Well done girls, it was great to hear you using your voices and showing great determina on. The encouragement award was given to Summer O'Brien for her persistence and commitment to the game. 13 & Under: Although we lost again, we had another great game with so many improvements from our previous game. We all had some great parts of the game, moving the ball down the court to get some awesome goals. I am so proud of the improvement each one of you are making, ge ng more confident each quarter. We started off a bit slow but we pushed on and didn't drop our heads. We led to the ball and even chased some loose balls. Our defence was strong pu ng pressure on Kalangadoo and we got out hands to lots of balls. Well done girls, keep our heads up and never worry about the score, just play your own game. Awards went to Isabel O'Brien for her awesome leading and Bethan for doing an amazing job in the goals. 15 & Under: We knew it was going to be a tough one and unfortunately even though we didn't give up, our skills couldn't match Kalangadoo's. This game really showed the areas that we need to work on when coming up against the stronger teams. Our determina on to not give up and keep going shone through. We usually play our best in the second half of our game and we did this here showing our never give up a tude. Cush and Holly worked hard all game in the defence circle pu ng pressure on their goalies, without this pressure I'm sure their score would have been more. Best players were Molly Cushion - Bakers Delight Award and Holly Walker - McDonalds Award. 17 & Under: Although the scoreboard didn't reflect it we had some really good patches of play. We came forward and backed each other up. Everyone took on board what we had to say in each break and came out firing. All the girls really adapted to all changes made and worked Ebony and Holly into the game. There were really good passages of

play throughout the game with Madi and Ebony bringing the ball down. Tayla, Ella and Holly worked well together in defence no ma er the combina on. Charlo e and Keelie started to create space in the second half and converted the turnovers into goals. Ducky’s Surf award went to Ebony Cytrowski and the Gino’s award went to Holly Walker. B Reserve: Great game girls, we come up against a much structured and experienced side who have obviously played together for a while where as we are all a new team trying to figure each other out and playing new posi ons for some! We had some great passages of play but we need to make more effort in front cu ng and our leading to the ball. Let's come out strong this week against the Bay and have a good game! B Grade: Another tough game last week going down by 10 goals. We did very well to keep up with them throughout the game, just need to work on keeping up the intensity for the whole 4 quarters. We set our pace and played our own game with some great plays down the court. Bek and Amy worked hard and stayed strong in the ring against tough defenders. Great game Leah taking home the Gino’s Pizza and Pasta voucher, you gave it your best and got your hands to plenty of the ball. Few things to work on at training this week buts it's star ng to come together. Let's keep our heads up and get back out there ready for this week. A Reserve: Well, definitely not the outcome we wanted! The scoreboard certainly didn't seem to reflect the game, we had our opportuni es however we just could not convert. Like I said last week, huge posi ves to look at coming away just need to iron out the nega ves. Georgia Clarke was unreal in goals, such a big ask and you took it like a champ and I thought you had a really good game! Defensive pressure, Kristy Varcoe I thought you were fantas c! We really need to dig deep now and get back on the winning side. Let's go girls! A Grade: Not the result we wanted last week. We played some very good patches but lacked consistently towards the end of the game. It's definitely a redeemable game and we need to work on the li le things at training so that we can apply them for the full 4 quarters. Vic had a solid game in the middle. Tayla and Kate played hard in defence along with Alex and Casey on the wings. Our defence looked great but definitely something we can keep working harder and harder on as a team so that we are all pu ng in for the whole game. Em played a strong game in goals with Jami but need to keep working under pressure to sink those goals. Keep working hard girls, the win will come!

A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW ROUND 4 TANTANOOLA v KALANGADOO 1st quarter - Tantanoola hosted Kalangadoo with both sides coming out firing with high defensive pressure all over the court. Kalangadoo goalies Melissa Russell and Abbey Duncan worked the ball into range with some clever play helping their side edge away to take the lead into the quarter break 14-11. 2nd quarter - Tant li ed the intensity early in the second quarter with Alex Walker working over me to stop Kalangadoo’s Jane Auld drive onto the circle. Kalangadoo responded with Jayde Peacock standing up taking control in the centre. Kalangadoo extended their lead into half me 31-22. 3rd quarter - A er the mid break saw Ebony McDiarmid step on the court in place of injured Abbey Duncan in GA. Tant also made changes swapping the wings A. Lucas to WA and Casey Walker into WD. Tant mid court Vic Lucas made strong leads into the goal third feeding with precision to a strong holding Emma Gould, despite's Chloe Pra ’s best efforts at shu ng her down. Tant worked hard to get within 2 goals mid way through but ended the quarter down by 7. Score 45-38. 4th quarter - Kalangadoo entered the final quarter with greater intensity and defenders Pra and Chelsea Croser forced errors in Tant’s a ack line with rushed passes and taking intercepts. At the other end Russell and McDiarmid made Tant pay for their errors on the scoreboard making it impossible for them to claw their way back in. Kalangadoo ended the day with a convincing 16 goal win a er a ght tussle for three of the four quarters. Final score 62-46. NANGWARRY v GLENCOE 1st - Both teams came out hard and were goal for goal. Defenders for both teams were pu ng in over me to stop goalers, ge ng many hands and rebounds. Glencoe and Nangwarry mid court moved the ball around with pa ence ll they found an opening to their goals, the goalies moving to find space a very even quarter. Nangwarry 10 Glencoe 11. 2nd - Glencoe started stronger this quarter with their goalers posi oning be er for their feeders. Nangwarry struggled to bring the ball back down the court as Glencoe increased the mid court defensive intensity, with Sarah Edwards taking many intercepts through the mid court. Donna Edwards and Hayley Burner were having a good tussle in the mid court, both defensively and a acking well for their teams. Nangwarry 15 Glencoe 25. 3rd - Nangwarry made changes swapping Ange

Pra and Cassie Dinnison. This gave Nangwarry a bit more movement that they needed. Kylie Heaver worked hard around the circle talking and feeding her goalies well. Emily Thompson and S. Edwards were making Dinnison and Pra work for every ball. Glencoe goalies really li ed this quarter moving and posi oning well no ma er how hard the Nangwarry defenders tried, D. Edwards fed them beau fully in the circle. Nang 22 Glencoe 41. 4th - Both teams made changes, Nangwarry bringing on youngster Jemma Parsons and Glencoe's 17U player Chelsea Owen to WD. Parsons had a hard job on Caitlin Hentschke who became the focal point, she kept ge ng be er as the game went on. She really li ed this quarter finishing off with 12 for the quarter. Dinnison started to use her experience down the other end posi oning well with Heaver delivering the ball well to her. Glencoe though con nued to keep pushing and were just too strong for Nangwarry in the end. Final score Nangwarry 30 Glencoe 60. Nangwarry’s best were Kylie Heaver and Cassie Dinnison. Glencoe’s best were Donna Edwards and Sarah Edwards. HATHERLEIGH v KONGORONG The Eagles have taken the points in round 4 against Kongorong in very warm condi ons, with Kongorong having the first centre pass and taking that opportunity to be the first on the board. Hatherleigh's a acking line were impressive as Lacey Haines dominated the goal circle. The defensive combina on of Sarah Broadhead and Maddie Redman was causing issues for the Hawks which allowed Hatherleigh to transi on the ball from defence to a ack fast, to help them take a 19-goal lead going to the first break. Kongorong remained unchanged going into the 2nd quarter, with Hatherleigh taking the opportunity to go to the bench and see Keston Green come into the game at GS. Emily Lightbody and Ella McIntyre worked hard in defence for Kongorong, picking up any loose balls that they could. But the momentum remained with the Eagles, Sarah Faulkner and Tegan Merre con nued to work well together to create space and hit the circle edge. The home side applied heavy defensive pressure which limited Kongorong to 3 goals for the quarter. Half me saw changes for both sides, Kongorong moving Ella McIntyre into goals which seemed to work well for them as this was their best quarter for the game, Amber Halleday and Lara McGregor having a great tussle. The home side

con nued to push and add to the scoreboard going into the final break with a 50 goal lead but the young Hawks con nued to fight. The final quarter saw a few changes again for both sides, Maddie Pulmer and Lacey Haines con nued to work well but Hatherleigh upped the intensity and pressure which saw them run away with a big win. Final score Hatherleigh 88 def Kongorong 23. MT BURR v PORT MACDONNELL Mt Burr began strongly scoring the first 7 goals of the quarter with Heidi Clark at GD making numerous turnovers restric ng the ball from entering Pt Mac's goal circle. Pt Mac se led to work the ball in and allow their goalies shoo ng opportuni es. Mt Burr con nued to move the ball into their goalies with drive from Laura Schultz at Centre and Ella Fal ng at WA, with Sarah Nulty at GA combining well with Ebony Clark at GS. Mt Burr 18 Pt Mac 4. Pt Mac came out with more pa ence to try to combat the defensive pressure applied by Mt Burr all over the court. Maddi Hagge at GK combined well with Heidi Clark to con nue to turn the ball over nega ng Pt Mac's few opportuni es in the goal circle. Mt Burr moved the ball fluently down the court with precision passing and working as a team to me leads to perfec on. Mt Burr 31 to Pt Mac 11. The third quarter saw changes to both sides with Heidi Clark coming off with Ann Guye moving into GD and junior McKenzie Bevan making her A Grade debut at WD. Pt Mac made a number of changes to try to combat the dominance Mt Burr had built on the game. Jess Trench moved to C and created some drive and resistance through the middle, but was unable to stop the dominance of Schultz and Fal ng feeding well to Ebony Clark as a focal point in the circle scoring 11 unanswered goals. Guye and Hagge combined well as the new defensive combina on denying Pt Mac of opportuni es close to the post and snapping up any rebounds on offer. Mt Burr 50 to Pt Mac 14. The last quarter saw more changes in the Pt Mac line up with Mt Burr remaining the same. Cody Manning at GA gave drive and a change of pace, combining with Trench at C to bring Pt Mac a ack line into the game. Mt Burr con nued to capitalise on turnovers however Pt Mac GK Lisa McGregor paid close a en on to Ebony Clark forcing her to change her style of play. The quarter was a much ghter contest with Mt Burr only winning the quarter by 3. Final score Mt Burr 61 to Pt Mac 22.
